I gave it to him without the sticks and let him hit the drums with his hands. I know the toy was meant for older children but he has enjoyed it even though he's not really old enough to play the games that are on it. I think this will be a toy that can grow with him. It is rather small and it balances on three legs so when he knocks it over, he has a hard time setting it back up on it's "feet". Love it January 1, 2017 My kid is having a ball and learning so fast. This was one of his top Christmas gifts this year. Would definitely recommend this product to teach colors, skills, music, hand eye coordination, and just a whole lot of fun. Five stars! There are only 2 buttons on the remote control so he learned how to use it quickly. It only goes forward and only turns one way though; so my son thought that was frustrating to the child. It has 2 buttons on the vehicle (one plays a tune and the other honks a horn). When you put the man in the car it makes a "start up the car" sound. Well made and it is adorable! You can't Go Wrong February 1, 2017 I bought this toy for my grandson but I wasn't surprised when his Dad started playing with it first and of course then Mom had to try it out and show the little guy how to use it. It is very simple and makes a nice first radio controlled car. Only a couple of buttons and my 2 year old grandson was zooming it all over the place. It is very durable and didn't mark up the hardwood floors. All kids, boys and girls, will eventually want a R/C car, might as well start young. Would be 5 stars but I didn't like that you have to actually push the power button ever time you want to play. My one year old has not mastered that but he loves to bang on this. It is also quite a bit smaller than i was expecting but it is really reactive and sounds pretty good. Cut but small March 25, 2017 This is a cute little drum set and the different settings are fun, but it keeps playing music even after your child stops playing with it unless you get up and go turn it off, which can be a little annoying. It is smaller than expected, but overall the size is fine for my 13 month old. Great for little drummers February 8, 2017 This gift for my 4-year-old son has been a godsend. He is an avid drummer ( you know pot and pans...lol), and finding this little gem has been a mommy saver. The volume is perfect; just loud enough for him to catch the feeling but not so loud that mommy loses her hearing. It is a great size for travel.....He takes it everywhere. Honey if you have a little drummer at home I highly recommend this set. 2 year old enjoys December 27, 2016 My son received right around his 2nd birthday this year. He loves it. Nice that he figured out how to turn off and on by himself, though he doesn't much like any of the other settings that the toy has except for the free play. Almost Perfect August 15, 2014 This is a really great toy, especially since my husband's a drummer and the baby therefore has always loved drums. She uses it a lot, and I think will do so even more when she's older. I think the features are "too old" for her right now at 17 mos, but that's a good thing...she'll use this for a long time. Only bad thing is it will not stop/shut itself off even after several minutes of no use. It just keeps going and going....can't be good for battery, and it drives us crazy as the parents. My son understands and loves this toy (though he does not use the drumstick but his palms to play). He loves the counting features on this toy. One night we heard him in his crib counting backwards from 100, and because we never taught him this I am sure he learned it from the toy. He doesn't get the memory games yet. And also the alphabet feature isn't that great as the quality of the audio is a bit muffled. But overall it's fun for him to beat the drums and count up and down. Initially he was actually really scared of the sounds coming from it, but after a few days he warmed up to it.On the other hand, my daughter doesn't really like this toy too much and doesn't understand that she has to hit the drum that is lit up. He dances to it while driving the car (ok, pushing the buttons). My only complaint is that it does not go well on carpet at all, and I bought it specifically because others mentioned it did. Flat rugs maybe, but not normal carpet. We have plenty of toys hat work well on hard floors and wanted something he could play with on softer carpet. This isn't it. Love this little car with great lights and sound. January 4, 2016 I gave this to my little grandson for Christmas. He loves it. It works great and is easy to use. It has awesome sounds and lights. The only drawback that I had was it was not easy to install batteries. I had to search for a small Phillips screwdriver head to even open the battery door. I mean very small like a special one you have to go out and buy not a standard phillips size screwdriver. There is no other way to open it. I was lucky to find as set at my local dollar store that worked. They type for eyeglasses. I hope this helps others so you will have the proper equipment to install the batteries. Other than that we love it! Cute Little Remote Car for Toddlers for a very good price! November 9, 2015 I just gave this to my 2 yr.-old grandson for his birthday and he loves it! It's great for a youngster and he figured out the buttons to make it go and also the button on the car to make it honk and sing and say "Vroom, vroom". It requires AA batteries and you'll need a jeweler's screwdriver to open up the battery compartments to place the batteries. It is light-weight so I hope it will stay intact and not break. It takes awhile to ship as it's coming from China, so if it's for a gift, be sure to allow plenty of time. Cute little remote car for a very reasonable price. Fast Little Car August 6, 2015 This little car is fast! My 2 year old grandson loves it. Like others people have stated it is definitely a ghost car and scared the bejesus out of my daughter in law. Ha! It moves around the house without the remote!!! SUPER LOUD. March 28, 2015 SUPER LOUD..... and I'm not one of those moms who are offended by loud, obnoxious toys...but this really IS loud. If it had a volume control switch it would be great. It does randomly move and jerk back and forth once in a while. I just make sure that its turned off when not in use, otherwise i will be walking around trying to figure out what's making that funny sound, but that's not to big a deal to me. Got a replacement sent to me and the batteries were badly corroded. I was out of time and needed this item for a birthday party so my boyfriend took apart the battery compartment and cleaned the terminals to make it work. Once we got it working, it's a neat toy, but I'm very disappointed in the quality of the specific ones we received. Barely hit it and it would go off, which worries me about it's battery life.The drums themselves are fun, especially for a young child. Just wish I could turn them off a bit more permanently. Even when those songs are turned off, the drums go off on their own sometimes, and that's irritating. I would rather that the only drum sounds heard are those the child makes. Otherwise, I think it can create some confusion - lack of relation between child's actions and actual sounds. I must say my grandchild was more interested in other toys presented - this didn't hold his interest as much as banging on paint cans with paint sticks. | 6% Cute and easy for a toddler to use September 27, 2017 This little car is really cute and my 2yo was able to figure out how to use the controls. The only "issues" I found with it are that 1.) it doesn't go very fast/move at all on carpet (depending on the length/thickness). The car's movement comes from a single, stationary wheel on the bottom that grips the floor and can't really grip carpet, and 2.) while the controls are simple it only moves straight or backwards in a curved motion (to get it away from walls, etc). The movement isn't a huge deal since a 2yo doesn't need a fancy, expensive, remote control car. It was just something I noticed. In my opinion it's worth the price. Not as nice as the pictures show !!!! July 14, 2017 My granddaughter loved it and the only reason I am giving it a 3 stars is because the description picture is very deceiving. We will see how long it holds up between a 3 year old and her Daddy who was more thrilled than his daughter!!!The package looks like it came from a third world country and I will update the review when she has played with it more... its an ok toy. June 20, 2017 i ordered 2. 1 broke as soon as it started going. for some reason it just died on us. the seller was nice enough to replace it, no questions asked. so far its working ok. it does take a ton of batteries so be ready for that. Too simple for toddlers 3 and up. May 4, 2017 This toy is way too easy for "toddlers 3 and over". I ordered it to give to my 4 yr old grandson. It's really not appropriate for his age. Some of the reviews talk about much younger children using it. I haven't taken it out of the box, so can't give a review on how it works. On Amazon it was listed for 3 and older. But the box says "18 months". That is a much better description. Faulty remote January 8, 2016 This is a great little car. The noise and lights are wonderful. The little guy even says "Vroom Vroom" when you push him down. I'm not rating it higher because the remote control for the one we purchased is faulty. The light on the remote stays on when the car is off and then loses pairing with the car when turned back on. You have to take the batteries out of the remote for hours before putting them back in and then it works again.My son loved this one so much and we were so frustrated by the remote that we bought another one (the police car) and it works just fine. We thought "oh, we can race them since we have two now..." Nope. The first remote (the faulty one) works for the new car (in reverse only) so we can't use both at the same time. I have to say though, we do love the police car. Just frustrated I had to buy to to get one that works. Fun but music is TOO loud! July 23, 2015 It seems like as a big "screw you" to parents the designers of this toy did NOT offer up any volume control or separate on/off switch for sounds for the obnoxious music that plays when the button on the car is hit. On top of that, my next move is usually to cover the speaker with duct tape to quiet it down a bit. But the designers of this toy once again infuriated me by placing the speaker underneath the main body plate of the car meaning I would have to unscrew 6 tiny screws to access the speaker just to quiet it down. Two Star Reviews: | 4% Not the best June 11, 2017 Purchased this for my one year old and three year old. The novelty wore of in about 20 minutes. The counting feature was somewhat fun for my three year old. Drumming and counting but that could just as easily be done having her clap and count, It just did not have much in the way of imagination for them I suppose. Returned was too small for what I had expected. ... February 25, 2017 Returned was too small for what I had expected. Maybe ok for under 3 it really is a baby not toddler toy. To small December 30, 2015 It is so much smaller than I ever expected it to be. My daughter think it's fun to play with. But she is a tiny one-year-old and it looks even too small for her. So it's really tiny is what you're looking for this. So small and quiet! November 23, 2015 So small and quiet! I am really shocked by how low the volume is. This toy hasn't entertained my daughter at all since we got it. We purchased it she she was 13 months, now she is 18 months and still not into it. Disappointed. October 28, 2015 My little one played with this for maybe 5 minutes. The voice is kind of obnoxious and once the child stops playing it keeps talking and encouraging activity for what seems like forever. It is practically demanding it be played with. The drumsticks are long gone, the "holder" in the back is loose so the sticks don't stay in it. It is a little confusing for my 18 month old because on the bottom three drums you tap the part that lights up but on the "cymbal" you are supposed to tap the ring around the part that lights up. The problem is the remote stopped working after a week, and the car won't work. I replaced the batteries in the car and remote with new ones and the car still would not connect to the remote. I sent it back and ordered another one and I hope it works! Hopefully the first one was just defective. I will write another review after I get it and use it for more than a week. The plastic is really thin and won't last very long. The packaging is entirely in Chinese, so no help with instructions. You can go forward, but if you want to turn you have to push the backward button which makes the car reverse in a curved angle. Sort of difficult for a small child to master. June 25, 2017 i bought this because my 20 months old baby likes to hit drums. she likes to grab any stick and hit anything with it. when i saw this one on amazon i thought this is the best toy i can give my baby so she can play with it all day. plus reading the reviews most people made me believe, it is the right choice. but the day it was arrived to my home, she was so excited to play it when she saw me opening the package. after i gave it to her it only took her at least 5 min before she stop playing with it.- first it is so so small for my toddler that she can't have enough space to hit it- not enough sound to make her hit the drum over and over againi am very disappointed i thought it would make her happy. instead she start taking the sticks and hit any kind of material that makes for her more noise instead of the drum. i don't recommend this drum to anyone. its a waste of money!! Cheap garbage May 19, 2017 Package arrived looking like it was stepped on. Main drum cover completely detached - took a lot of work to get it together again, and still doesn't work.My 3-year-old played with it for about 10 minutes, and forgot it. Just another noisemaker, no real features, no feel to it, the sticks hitting the hard plastic drumheads are much louder than the sound it makes.
