make it easy to shoot prone!
March 27, 2017
looks good on the build but seems a little flimsy. Not bad for the price and it locks nicely when in use
Nice little bipod at a really good price.
September 29, 2015
You pay about $26 bucks for this. Having said that, it's good quality for a bipod at that price. I bought this to put on my "range AR-15" (the one I take out most often just to practice with). I installed a forward sleeve with picatinny rails on all four sides and this bipod fits snug on the bottom rail. It's light, easy to adjust and for range shooting it supports the AR very steady. I will use it a few more times at my range and will revise this if I have any problems with it. So far, after two trips to the range, I am pleased with it for the purpose I bought it. May order a couple more if it holds up after a few more uses.

This is a very solid bi-pod. Some customers claim that the legs have a bit of play when placed in open/operable position. This is understandable as this has quick release buttons and internal springs... so the tolerances allowed from quick breakdown provide just enough space (few millimeters) to give a slight wobble.. not a big deal at all if you have any experience with similar products. After attaching the bi-pod to a .308 PTRSCCR and expending several mags down range, the bi-pod held its own quite well. The extensions leave a little to be desired, but from a prone or sitting position, the height is perfect. If you want a solid and cheap method for maintaining long distance targets... don't hesitate to purchase this item.. If purchased through ARMSTAC, you should expect the best service (as identified through my seller review).

Impressed! Great quality looks great.
great & sturdy

it works great and is sturdy it takes a little time to figure out how to get it open its not made like most bipods. holds up to a 300 mag great will buy again soon
Great quality accessory at fantastic price! [:-)

Was amazed at the quality of fit & finish. Would really expect to pay more. Got one like it that's "name brand" but no better quality costing over twice as much.

Definitely worth the price
June 19, 2017
This bipod is pretty solid. I have used many Bipods on both hunting rifles and AR platforms and this is by far the best investment I have made on one. As soon as it came in I slapped it on and tried it out, it isn't quite long enough to clear the magazine when the rifle rests but when shooting provides ample space for the magazine to sit freely and even change mags without having to lift the rifle. It is very sturdy as I was able to lean into the bipod and put force on it without it bending or giving way to the weight (208 lbs.) I was also able to fire 200 rounds of 5.56 without any issues. The only negative I really experienced with this bipod is sometimes the legs don't lock in the extended position right away (but I never shoot with the legs extended anyway, I prefer to keep a lower profile). With how sturdy it is I was able to zero my EOTech/magnifier combo within 15 rounds which saved me loads of time compared to my other bipods. Overall I would say this bipod is WELL worth the money paid for it and than some. Definitely would recommend to another person and purchase it again.
Best bipod I've had.
March 1, 2017
So i waited a while to review this product just to see how it would hold up. Well I'm still very impressed. I've never had to re-tighten it, never had to re-adjust it. Never had to do anything with it. The lock up is still solid. This truly is a quality product at an affordable price. You don't find deals like this too often. However it doesn't swivel or cant like some other bipods, but that's what i wanted. A solid bipod that mounts solidly to a picatinny rail. Without swivel and cant. Very pleased!
Definitley worth your money
June 13, 2016
Awesome quality. Fit was perfect! I was scared that it woukd collapse with the little kick that comes from the riffle but to my surprise it held it up and didnt collapse or wiggle loose. Definitely kept up to my standards. I waited a while to review this product because i wanted to see how long it would last before and if it would start to give me problem been going on a couple years and still works like its brandnew. I use it very often and it sure has been beat uo byt it still works and fully functinal. Great product and would recommend it to any one who may be thinking about purchasing it.
Very Well Built Item!!
September 14, 2013
Ordered item to install on ATI Marlin Semi-Auto Fiberforce Gun Stock for marlin 22 which has no rails to mount bipod. Description stated that this could be mounted with the swivel stud but wasn't very clear on how this was performed. Received item and all you do is slide the new swivel stud adaptor over the existing swivel stud mounted to the stock screw in locking pin and install the rest of the parts and you are up and running. One side note is that when I mounted all parts and tried to tighten down locking nut it was hitting on the locking pin. I just filed the locking pin flush and mount is now tight.
Great product. Best type of Bipod in the world.
February 12, 2013
This bipod is wonderful, it goes on very easily, comes off fast, and it is not loose or wobbly.I find that these bipods with the springs are the strongest and the least flimsy. All METAL, no plastic on it, that says alot on how well it's built and it seems to be all aluminium, so it isn't heavy either.I have it on my Ak-47, the lowest setting isn't quite tall enough to clear a 30 rounder but you can very easily adjust it however with the knobs. If you are at all reluctant to buy this and you need a bipod, I can assure you this is the best bipod in the world, period.
Very nice bipod, sturdy and well built
January 30, 2012
Having never used a bipod prior to this one I am not able to make any comparisons between this and, for example, a Harris bipod. However, I have to say that I am quite impressed with the overall quality of this unit. The included swivel adaptor kit is quickly mounted to most any gun, and could be used for mounting other things (flashlights or lasers?) if the bipod is not in use.The good:--- --- --- --- --- ---I did find it a little odd, at first, that there are two distinct locking mechanisms for extending the legs. After having used the bipod for a little while and gotten used to the controls I actually like it.- For quick setups you simply pull the legs (they are spring-loaded to retract) all the way out. Once fully extended the quick-release latch snaps into place. When you are ready to move again, simply push the front of the quick-release and the legs snap (pretty quickly) back to the fully retracted position.- For more precise shooting and uneven terrain the twist knobs are used. They adjust fairly quickly, though it is a challenge to hold the leg to the length you want AND turn the knob. They only require about 1/4 to 1/2 a turn to lock. The knobs also have a small peg that stops them from turning too far.The bipod can be mounted facing forward (when folded) or backward. When mounted so the legs point forward folded, the controls are on the opposite side of the legs from the user. The benefit here is that in the folded position the controls are much less likely to snag on the environment around you. However, it does make them a little harder to adjust. The legs are parallel to the barrel of the gun when folded. They do not angle outwards. The panning feature was a little stiff when I first started using it, but has loosened up some since. I would estimate about 10 to 15 degrees of motion. That doesn't sound like much, but at 100 yards 15 degrees is a pretty wide sweep. I did not find it necessary to loosen the set screw to enable the panning feature. The thumb screw for attaching / removing the bipod to a Picatinny rail is easy to deal with and nicely sized. I have not noticed it getting loose while using the bipod. The tension springs that hold the bipod open and closed are strong. I was goofing around with the unit when it first arrived (off the gun) and accidentally snapped my fingers in between the springs and the metal (ouch). The legs fold up fast and are held solid in both positions. The legs have a nice rubber foot pinned to the bottom. The pin should keep these from being lost or scraped off in use.--- --- --- --- --- ---The bad:--- --- --- --- --- ---The extension portion of the legs (the inner legs) are a little lighter weight. They seem to bow a little under the weight of my R-25. No major issue with them yet, but I will be keeping an eye out for any bending. The rubber feet are not non-marring. I dragged them a little to reposition and saw a thin black line on the table-rest.--- --- --- --- --- ---Overall, I would recommend this bipod to anyone shy of a professional target shooter. I believe this unit is a perfect fit for my target shooting and hunting needs.

Great product, they are more streamline then the spring loaded ones for those of us that will use them in other places besides at the range. That is a plus for me, and each side and a 3" deep shock so you can slightly tilt the gun. That was a surprise bonus for me.

Don't care for the spring loaded extending arm locking mechanism
Inexpensive bi-pod
August 24, 2015
For the price this appears to be a good bi-pod. It looks to be well put together and has a nice design (doesn't have exterior springs to hang on to limbs etc.) . It is light and doesn't appear really substantial but additional rounds will tell if the springs and small parts hold up.
Good for the money

Decently sturdy, comes with adapter for gear without rails. Needed to have the tubes tightened into the frame but it was an easy fix. Great for the price.
Works great
April 21, 2015
Ordered 2. Tried them at the range, both on AR15's. They mount tight to the rail, no wobble. Adjustments are easy, legs spring out and can be set anywhere in between. Plenty of height on these, and the springs are inside the legs. Overall, solid construction for the price. I'm happy with them, and you can't go wrong with the price.

It's not a Harris but it works.
August 27, 2016
This UTG gets the job done, I've owned a few of their bipods and put a few hundred rounds through. If I was still serving or competition shooting I would use a Harris. For years I have use UTG on bolt action rifles as well as AR's with no failures or breaks. I have seen the UTG brand fail miserably on other caliber rifles but I primarily shoot 5.56 and have never had a problem other than the retractable legs sticking because of sand. For the price, I think they are the best option if you don't have Harris money or you are just plinking around.
UTG Tactical OP Bipod, Rubber Feet
April 10, 2016
I'm not sure that 4 stars is fair to this bipod. It is well made and the price is fair. It looks good on my AR 556 but am uncomfortable with it. My problem is that it doesn't feel to me like it holds the rifle stable enough for accurate shooting. Now I have never used a bipod before and that may be the norm for all of them. I just feel I can shoot better using a wooden block or a range bag than I can with this bipod.I tried with the legs fully extended and with them complete lowered. I even tried pressing my shoulder forward to keep the legs under pressure thinking that may make it more stable. Nothing worked for me.If you want a good looking apparently well made bipod this may be right for you. For me I think I will stick with a simpler approach when I want to hit my targets consistently.
Decent bipod for the money...but not an Atlas or even Harris
December 31, 2015
It's not an Atlas bipod, but a good quality bipod for the money. The mount screw will work itself loose at the range and with a lot of movement, and the end is too big for even a large flathead screwdriver. Using your hand to tighten it won't be enough. I had to buy an oversized flathead to be able to tighten it down solid. But, again, for the money, you can't go wrong. The legs work well, the springs are tight, and it will work well for my application (Mosin Nagant in an Archangel stock).

Positives:- price- very well built, with powerful leg springs that stand up to recoil when the legs are unfolded, and keep the legs positively locked in place when folded.- Legs extend to roughly double their collapsed length, lock in place, and are unlocked and collapsed with a single button on each leg. Legs are internally spring loaded and collapse automatically- Legs can be extended to intermediate lengths by using the "posi-lock" wheels on the front of each leg.- Looks sweet on my rifleNegatives:- "posi-lock" wheels, in my experience, firing .223 rounds, tend to come unlocked under recoil, causing the legs to collapse unexpectedly and the rifle to suddenly tilt or drop to one side. Extending the legs fully so that they actually lock into place on their own keeps this from happening, but may not always be ideal.- the leg springs are powerful enough to bend the steel stops that prevent the legs from folding too far. One of mine bent, and I've had to unbend it with pliers on more than one occasion. It may be possible to bend them all the way down anyway, but it remains to be seen if this will cause the legs to interfere with the barrel when they're folded up.- Steel construction is heavy, especially if you place the bipod on the end of a rail out near the muzzle.- 30 round mags are just a little too long at the un-extended leg lengthOverall:I'd buy this again. It's a rock solid little bipod for a great price, and the negatives aren't deal breakers for me.
Great bipod for the price. Good quality.
February 1, 2015
Purchased this UTG bipod. The model number wasn't mentioned in the Amazon listing, but I'm going to guess this is the UTG's TL-BP88 model (Center Height: 8.1"-12.7").The quality of the product is really good. It looks like it will last for quite a long time.I mounted it on a Ruger American Rimfire 22 rifle, mounting it right over the existing sling nut.I went out with my two boys and wasted about 325 rounds of ammo using this bipod, and loved it!The shorter set position of the legs (8.1") was perfect for the prone position, for me. This position also worked great setting the system on a 29" table. My boys, 5 and 8 years old, who were a little too small to use the bipod's short position in the prone position, preferred the bipod legs extended (12.7") and they would sit while shooting. This did force them to crouch a bit though. I think getting the taller model would have fixed this.I like how it has the 1/4 turn leg screw locks, so if you need to adjust the legs in an intermediate length, between the two positions, you have that option too.Just to note, if an adult tried to use this bipod in the sitting/crouch position it would be much too short. You would definitely want one of the taller models. For the prone position, this bipod is great!
UTG tactical OP bipod
February 3, 2014
I like that it still gives you the option of mounting a sling. In my opinion the bipod for a rifle like the Savage 93R17 it is just a stand for the rifle to keep it upright especially if there is a scope mounted to the rifle. After the rifle is zeroed in you don't want the it bangged around. I mounted my UTG tactical bipod with the sling swivel to the rear. Just made sense because I will add a sling later on. It is a fine bipod for the price and intended purpose. I had to back out the forearm sling mount swivel screw one 1/2 turn to mount the picatinney rail that comes with the the bipod kit, installed the locknut and tightened it up. Nice bipod

solid material, but a chore to operate.
May 23, 2016
the bipod it self is fine, but I feel like the operation is a little clunky. trying to open and close it can be a bit of a chore, the little wheels on the side have to be loosened before opening or closing it and then re-tightened when closing it. I feel that should be an un- necessary action. Also it took me a good few minutes to figure out how the thing worked, a small instruction page would be nice.

May 13, 2016
I wanted a taller bipod for an AR so that it would fit a 30 round magazine so I ordered this. It's not the smoothest operating device, tends to stick in both the open and folded positions and is difficult to get to release. Height is good and clears the 30 round magazine as intended, but I think I'll look for a different one that functions smoother.

Sliding legs do not lock into place. Do not buy.
May 8, 2015
Good mounting base. Love the thumb screws. But the sliding legs that are supposed to be lockable by the lower thumb screws do not work at all. If you tighten em down as tight as it can be (even with vise grips) the legs slide back up, so its either duct tape em or solder/weld the legs fully out or leave em be at the lowest setting. Would not buy again. Id spend my money elsewhere.

Bipod worked great, I had to buy another one because the old one fell off my gun while elk hunting in 18 inches of fresh snow. I wasn't able to find it in the mile trek back through the snow. It fell off partly due to me not adequately checking my gear, but it is still something that could be addressed. I had to modify it very slightly to get it to fit snugly on my rifle, but nothing major.
OK and works if tight. Watch for loose parts.
August 9, 2014
bought this for use on my Remington 700 .223 rifle. works ok. I have to take it off each time to put my gun in the case. you really need to tighten it to the gun with a screw driver. I also had one of the plastic feet come off due to loose fitting roll pin. Fortunately, I saw it happen and was able to reattach with the addition of super glue for good measure. To sum it up, it is just good enough it isn't worth me spending the money to upgrade. However, when it does fail, I'll likely buy something else.
UTG Bipod - Tactical/Sniper Profile
June 25, 2012
Many well written reviews exist on this product so I will keep it short and sweet. A reasonably good quality, sturdy bipod for a budget-conscious shooter that cannot or does not want to spend much money on a superior quality bipod like a Harris. It does what it is designed for... without problem for sure! It withstands my 308 recoil without any issues so far after a few hundred rounds. It has many nice features and it is practical, particularly for bench shooting. I however chose the wrong size as prone shooting is somewhat uncomfortable with this bipod which is too high (but that is my fault for not reading closely enough the dimensions). So if you are intending some prone shooting, I would probably suggest the UTG SWAT/Combat Profile bipod, and not this one (although this one is called the Sniper profile!?! go figure!). Its height however allows to clear my 19 rounds magazine with plenty of space left. The thumb screw has a totally useless screwdriver slot because it is too big for most large screwdrivers... The rubber under the legs leaves marks when dragged so be careful your funiture when you adjust your scope for example! When using this bipod, my rifle was also slanted to the left a couple of degrees (regardeless of the panning adjustment!)having me to use more extension on one leg compared to the other leg to have the rifle nicely adjusted ... I had to use some brute force to bend the left leg back so that my rifle would be almost perpendicular to the ground. Ouch! that is one heck of a DIY job for what is supposed to be a precision-enhancing product! Overall, this is not a Harris bipod! but it does the job to some extent... I am reasonably happy with my purchase considering its price.
Looks Great on the shelf, but not sturdy on the range
April 7, 2012
This is a nice looking and seemingly well made bi-pod. I purchased it for my Springfield M1A SOCOM. Seems very sturdy out of the package and mounts extremely easy on the pic rails that I have. set up was a breeze and again, seems very sturdy sitting on the shelf. Once out on the range, however, I'm a little concerned about how long this bi-pod will last. The aluminum seems a bit "wobbly" and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if there are already some stress fractures in the metal. Also, The rubber feet were already getting some wear after only one outing (this was on a clean wooden bench - about 100 rounds), so after a little use in the gravel, I cant imagine them holding up for any length of time. Overall, compared to more expensive bi-pods, this is still a decent buy. I'm crossing my fingers that the wobbly feel doesn't ultimately destroy the bipod when shooting.

This arrived today, shipping was fast...that is the good. My product arrived in what seems to be a "used and returned" condition. One of the rubber feet was rubbed excessively and torn....rubber "powder" was present in the bag and box in which it arrived. November 7, 2015
To be fair, this is my first time using a bipod. The expectation was that when using a bipod I might feel less tense in my shooting position but it actually felt as though I had to now maneuver around the entire weapon to get a good sight picture. It's just my feeling that had I opted for something costing a bit more I might not have felt as though it was a struggle to get the rifle positioned correctly. (Shrugs shoulders)

Bought one and it was completely unusable due to the unevenness of one of the legs.Did a return and didn't get to bring it out to the range in time to test for a second return. Now I am stuck with a cockeyed bipod. Oh well I guess. Spend the extra money to buy one you'll be happy with. This thing is junk. I gave it two stars and I think that it fair. One star for price and one for being as described for the most part. Quality is not great at all. Paint is low quality and the legs are uneven because of the cockeyed mounting bracket. I am unsure if I just got two duds, but from the feel of it, this thing won't last long even with a 556/223

December 30, 2014
Received and seemed solid. Offered 2 mounting options - to the rail system or on the swivel stud mount. The rail mount worked well, but the swivel stud mount was not effective. It has an adapter for the swivel mount and when attached it was not secure and did not provide any foundation for the bipod to mount. It needed either a washer or some different design to secure it. If you want to attach to a rail system, then this bipod would work well, but for the swivel, not so much.
Base metal too soft for retractable legs
October 16, 2014
Seemed like a nice sturdy bipod at first. However, after retracting the legs a few times, one of the metal pieces meant to keep the legs from flying upward bent, causing one of the legs to fly upward above the barrel. It's clear that the metal used for the base is too soft to withstand the blow of the legs retracting. I sent the product back and got a full refund thanks to Amazon.I don't like the panning feature included in most of UTG's bipod lineup, so I'm going to try one of the spring-free bipods from XCSOURCE.

June 8, 2014
This bipod was the first attachment I got for my first 20" barrel AR. I've been to the range four times with it and it seemed to work great. Yet there was something that bugged me every time I looked at it. One of the legs was almost an inch off from the other. I re-read the negative reviews and one said their bipod came with a bent piviot bolt. I took mine apart and found the piviot bolt on one side was bent at its head. 2 bucks for replacement bolts, washers and nuts at home depot and a half hour on my bench and it's fixed. The bipod itself works great but I can only give two stars due to this obviouse hardware flaw.
Poor quality
December 4, 2012
Well... I was looking for a bargain. When it comes to firearm accessories I should have known to stick with the name brands. I already have several bipods so I was willing to give UTG a shot because of their low price. Wish I hadn't.It mounted quickly to the gun, I opened the legs up and set the gun on the table. The gun was canted to the left. Considerably. I monkeyed around with the thing for half an hour trying to find out what the problem was. Still haven't figured it out. I even put it on a different gun. No luck, makes every gun cant to the left.Obviously it is an easy fix, I just extended the left leg an inch and a quarter and locked it in place. Now when the gun sits on the table it sits the way it should. I admit, it looks silly when the legs are folded up and the left leg is longer than the right but at least my crosshairs are vertical and level when the gun is in use on the bench. In fairness, it does mount to the gun. The legs are adjustable.

will not fit remington 783.

I thought I would try to get away with a cheap pair of bipods. I was wrong. The adapter to connect the bipod to the sling swivel is a terrible design. It would constantly come loose. Stability was a joke and after using them a couple times one of the legs were bent on the up position... go with Harris and never look back!!
CHEAP!!!!!!

Normally I don't have a problem with UTG and Cheap little items to play with on my 22 but this was awful. Out of the box I had to Fix the legs. From the Factory the tabs that held the Legs straight were bent. In addition the swivel mount would not snug up not matter WHAT Rifle I tried it on. I had to make up my own spacer to fill in the 2in gap. NEVER AGAIN UTG!
