Good carpet sweeper
February 2, 2017
This carpet sweeper is good. It easily picks up crumbs and small dirt pieces.
I like it. It picks up
March 27, 2016
I like it. It picks up. Sometimes I just don't want to pop out the central vacuum. It's always ready & easy to empty too.
Top quality. Works like s dream
November 25, 2015
Love love love my little sweeper! The fact that it even picks up kitty litter on a tile floor makes it even more amazing than I dared hope! It also works great on my living room rug. I'm so glad I don't have to drag out our heavy vac cleaner every few days anymore.
Excellent sweeper.
June 6, 2015
Very good sweeper for carpeted floors and a also does a pretty good job with tiled floors. It does an impressive job at picking up pet hair, and it even gets the pieces of loose kitty litter. Another plus is that it's lightweight. Will definitely purchase another one so that there is one on each floor. Excellent product.
Slick!

Does the job! Easy to assemble and very easy on the arthritis which is why I got it. By the way, it got here in 24 hours
Good bang for buck.

The One To Buy!
December 7, 2016
What a little work horse. I knew the Bissell would be good but man alive, I had no idea it would be this good! Thank you, Bissell.Up until the other week I had been using a beat up old Bissell that I'd found in our condo trash room. I most have used it for another 20 years, seriously. I finally decided it was time to give it up and buy this new one. This one is a dynamo. It grabs all the dust, dirt and lint, etc. in sight. Carpets and marble floors. Doesn't miss a thing.A little over $18.00, no batteries, no electricity..as low tech as they come and it works just fine. You'll be just as pleased and will certainly have no regrets having bought this one. I didn't have any problems with the handle.I much appreciated the fast delivery. This one is a sweetheart.
Great sweeper More than great price
March 4, 2016
I purchased this sweeper for our conference center. We have meeting 8 meeting rooms that fit from 14 to 150 people. There is never a day withoutsome kind if mess. We have very low pile commercial carpet in a darker color so frequent clean ups are necessary. This little sweeper is great! It will pick up spills from sugar packets, crumbs from flakey pastries and scraps of paper. It has worked well on every thing. I have a battery charged sweeper at home, but in an office it is impossible to keep something charged all the time. It seems that when you really need it there is no power.Purchased this sweeper mainly because of the Bissell name, but was wary because of the great price. Don't worry sometimes you get MORE than you pay for.
Extremely happy with this product!
April 27, 2015
Never thought I'd get one of these, but needed something for sweeping up on those days I don't want to bother with getting out the vacuum. Did quite a bit of looking around here on Amazon, considering various models, reading reviews, etc., before settling on this little Bissell. The reasonable price both pleased and concerned me: "pleased" because I wasn't spending an arm and a leg; "concerned" because cheap products are so often crummy ones. The little sweeper arrived packaged in a small rectangular box. You have to screw the handle (which comes in several pieces) together, then screw that onto the swivel bar already attached to the sweeper. I was impressed at how easily everything went together: no problem with the threading, etc. It felt sturdy, and i noticed right away that the mechanism for dirt pick-up went out to the edges, too - a plus for getting corners, as I've found out since! I have used the sweeper several times now, and am pleased to report that it works well and does what the manufacturers statement says it will! I use my sweeper on my "throw carpets" as well as the linoleum floor in my kitchen/dining room. It picks up well on either surface, and even gets cat hair off the rugs with one pass. I am extremely happy with this product!
Sweep-tastic!
February 23, 2015
I remember these simple appliances from my childhood. There's a reason they're still around...they really do work! Nothing to plug in or recharge, and they're much quieter than my vacuum. I've got a line of litter boxes in my Arizona room which I scoop morning and night. Cats track litter out when they exit the facilities and I like to clean the floor up some before I kneel on it to clean the boxes. If I run the vacuum in the morning, it wakes up hubby, so this is the perfect solution. I'm impressed how much this sweeper picks up: all the litter that is reachable and cat and dog hair from the rug, along with hundreds of mesquite leaves that get tracked into the screened patio/"catio" by the dogs. I've even used it on the tile in the house and it does a pretty good job of cleaning (even in the grout lines). This is so handy for quick clean-ups between vacuuming!
A life changing product.
December 11, 2014
I have had it four a few weeks now and I wonder now if I ever needed an electric vacuum cleaner. Sure I know the suction in theory is better, but in reality, the Bissell sweeps all my carpets so quickly and easily that I "vacuum" far more often and my carpets are on average much more clean. I find I use it daily to do quick areas around the house where I only pulled out my vacuum on weekends. The Bissell goes under everything and is small enough to go between almost everything. I have a leather sofa and loveseat with about three inches clearance that the Bissell goes fully under. Stair carpet is also quick and easy to sweep.Cleaning the unit is a breeze as I just put the Bissell in the trash can and pop open the dirt holders to empty. After a couple shakes I snap close the holders before removing from the trash container. FAR quicker than emptying the big dirt collector on the central vac or the bags on my smaller vac.I also have some low, thick rugs, runners and carpets that my powerful house vac never was able to clean effectively because the thick pile either made it hard for the sweeper to sweep, or the dense carpet blocked the suction so it didn't pick up dirt well. Finally, the Bissell does an OK job on floors (although I still use a regular broom to clean them each week.On a slightly negative note ... I did need my mallet to install (read "smash on") the rubber handle, but overall it was quick and easy to put together.
Great little crumb sweeper!
November 28, 2014
The term "cordless" strikes me as a bit misleading, since the only power that runs this sweeper is muscle power - there is nothing to plug in or charge. That said, this is an excellent little sweeper. I got it mostly to clean the low pile throw rugs and runners I have placed to keep my old dog from slipping on our hardwood and tile floors - I don't even own a real vacuum anymore since we don't have any carpet, and didn't want to buy one just for these rugs. The sweeper works great on the rugs, what I didn't expect was that it works great on my hardwood and tile floors too - about as well as a broom and dustpan. The dirt reservoir on the sweeper isn't huge (it's just the size of the sweeper head) so if I'm doing the whole floor, and it's dirty then I'm better off using the broom and dustpan, because if I use the sweeper I'll have to keep emptying it. But for in-between cleaning, and small dry spills it is EXCELLENT. It will pick up short dog and cat hairs off the floor as well as a broom. Picks up bigger things too, like crumbs and leaves. And it folds flat to slide under low furniture much better than a broom. This makes it easy to store too.Emptying the reservoir is easy, it has 2 lids on the underside that just flip up. There is one large central brush, and smaller ones on each end - these can get hairs or fibers wrapped around them which need to be pulled loose. The good news is, that since there is no motor you don't have to worry about a motor burning out because a brush gets bound up with hair.

A bit on the cheap side, but works pretty well. Occasionally dumps a big clump of fuzz on the carpet (how it tells you it needs to be emptied).
Cat and Dog hair is gone
October 23, 2015
I have been thinking about my granny using one of these a long long time ago and decided to see if they still made them. Well, I purchased this one and I must say, it does a good job for a small non electric machine. Mostly I have dog and cat hair and it is amazing for that. It is reasonably priced, and seems to be made well. Very easy to use, easy to push and easy to clean out. I would replace mine with another when the time comes. I am happy with my purchase.
Nice Product, Works Well
July 4, 2015
Works better on thick carpet than I expected. As billed , saves the trouble of dragging out the plug in vacuum cleaner at times.
Easy to Put Together
June 22, 2015
Very easy to put together, very easy to use. And it works fine with the office carpet. Took me a little bit to figure out how to open the flaps to throw out the dust collected. I have to push with one hand, and lift it with the other. Doesn't work just by pushing, but it's easy to do.

Why buy a clunky, noisy vacuum cleaner when all you really need is a carpet sweeper?
August 27, 2016
I find this a huge improvement over vacuum cleaners for routine use. It is light, quiet, energy efficient( no electricity) and easier to handle than most vacuum cleaners. It doesn't stir up dust and small particles into the air,is used from an ergonomic position. If you have carpeting, this is a great substitute for the vacuum and so light and easy even children, back-injured and frail elders can use it. With a broom or dust mop for hard floors, you can go for weeks without vacuuming. The carpets might even stay cleaner than with vacuum frequently, since the sweeper used almost daily means stuff is being picked up before it gets crushed deeper into the pile. Then use (share with neighbors!) vacuum for corners, furniture and drapes, etc. This is a great value, and though there may be more deluxe and sturdy versions, it will cost you only a one time price at purchase. Mine was on sale for 12.79.Even at normal price of 19.99 it compares well with the price of a new broom. The motorized versions arent much of an improvement in cleaning ability and no significant difference in the little strength needed to operate it., so I'd stick with manual over electriic, and next time I buy one will probably pay more for a more durable product.Even at the normal Amazon price of 19.99, it cost about the same as a new, sturdy broom.
works okay on carpet, so-so on floors
May 24, 2016
As others have stated, it's so-so on laminate floors. Can't get all the little grit but gets most of it. Sometimes it just pushes it in front. Defnitely doesn't get the dusty footprints that show up on dark laminate. Seems to be good for little area rugs though. For $20 I'll still have a use for it, just not what I bought it for.
carpet sweeper
January 20, 2016
I got this so I could have a second carpet sweeper in the house. I have one downstairs and wanted to have one upstairs. I have a vacuum upstairs and downstairs so I don't have to carry the stuff and run the chance of getting hurt. I think this thing works pretty good. It does pick up stuff like kitty litter and dry cat food. I have two cats and they tend to drop some of their food and the cat litter is always getting out of the boxes so instead of making noise in the middle of the night while one is sleeping I use these things and all is good. I am not sure how long this is going to last but at least this one works. If you are looking for a good carpet sweeper I almost would say the fuller one is the better one. I have an old one that is still holding up with lots of heavy use.
Great for Kids
December 18, 2014
I got tired of having to vaccum up every day after the world's messiest 8 year old. I dont trust the precious little slob with my expensive vacuum so i found this nice little light weight alternative for her to use to clean up after herself. It does take a few extra strokes than a normal vaccum but I like that she has to work a little harder to clean up after herself. My intent is to teach her to stop being so gosh darn messy! Anyways it is perfect for area rugs or kid's bedrooms, but wouldn't recommend using it to clean an entirr carpeted house. Perfect for teaching messy kids how to clean up after themselves! Deducted 1 star because every once in a while the center brush pops out and i have to squeeze it back in, but of course what do you expect for $14... I mean really :)
Great Tool at a Low Price but I Wore It Out
September 11, 2014
+ Quieter than a vacuum+ No power/cords required+ Small, easy to hang like a broom+ Metal body and handle construction- Not as fast as a vacuum- Needs constant cleaning to stay efficient (washes easy but hard to de-fuzz roller)- You get quite a workout pushing and pushing it...- Handle unscrews with use (glue it?)- Short handle for 5'10" person, have to lean over- Only "sweeps" to within 1.5" of wall/obstacle- Have to push down when pulling to make wheels/brush spinLoved it and used it daily until I bent the roller brush and it didn't roll right. Tried to bend it back but that didn't work. Haven't used it since we moved because we have no more carpet. Yay! Use a broom on the hardwood floors.
A good buy for quick cleaning
February 13, 2014
I recently adopted a cockatoo that is (understandably) frightened of our electric vacuum. I was using a regular broom and dustpan to clean up the seeds on my carpet throughout the day, and it was becoming a chore. i read several reviews on different models of these manual sweepers, and didn't want to spend a ton of money, so I took a chance on this one. I admit I was not impressed when I opened the box, it looked like cheap unit not worth more than $10.00, however, I was surprised that this sweeper has performed overall quite well for my needs. I use this on regular pile carpeting in my LR, and also hardwood areas. It has been able to pick up bird seed, some food stuffs, and even cardboard bits left by my birds daily rituals. The sweeper leaves a nice swept look on my carpet, I mean, it looks like I actually vacuumed. If I had company stop by unannounced I could probably run this thing across the floor in a few minutes and no one would be the wiser! Although it is not deep cleaned, per se, it's cleaning better than a broom and I don't have cords and loud noise to deal with. I will be buying another one for my back porch!

not that great... A disappointment given the positive reviews I read.
Handle too short, could be heavier
February 22, 2016
It does pick up cat hair, dust, and debris. It doesn't work well with cat litter, nor does it sweep wood floors as stated by other reviewers. Overall it's okay, could be heavier which would help on wood floors, and the handle is too short for anyone over 5'5". Cannot recommend, nor would I purchase this brand if it breaks.
Wish I could say better. Alas...
December 9, 2015
I went for this model because it has a slightly better star rating than the Bissell floor sweepers than I have been using for years. My current Bissell is about 10 years old and sems to lay back down everything it picks up so I decided to replace it with a different brand. Well the new brand does no better than the old Bissell does. It has only one pickup roller and it seems to return small bits to the carpet just after picking it up. (No wonder they don't show a picture of the underneath). The procedure now is: Roll over - picks it up, roll back - lays it back down again, bend over - pick up the offending lint or whatever. Wish I could say better. Alas...
Works very well when pushing; pulling not so much.
June 10, 2015
Sweeper works fairly well picking up both small & large stuff that falls onto the carpeted floor of our restaurant. However, it works best when pushing only. When pulling the Casabella sweeper backwards, one has to push down fairly hard to get it to work. At the end of a long day, this is too much of a strain. I'm a little disappointed it doesn't work easily pushing and pulling. I will likely have to order a different sweeper.

Meh
May 13, 2017
Well, it works good, about half the time. It tends to spit grime back out, and the brushes get clogged easy. Bought it for the name... Bissell, kept it because it was too late to send it back. Gonna give this one a few more months and then donate it and try something else.
Disappointed
December 27, 2015
I bought this to save a few bucks instead of investing in a Fuller Brush carpet sweeper. I own two of those and I'm sorry I just didn't stick with what I know. This pushes the dirt around while also picking up some of it but you can see what you're missing. A little disappointed and wish I got the Fuller Brush one.
Honestly, a broom would be more useful.
October 2, 2015
It's a broom thing that is supposed to sweep up things. It does a pretty okay job, but I'm not super impressed with it.It struggles to sweep up from solid floors like a kitchen, but it does get larger objects off it. Struggles sweeping cat litter, struggles sweeping if you can't get momentum. The part that operates the brushes is attached to the wheels using some rubbery gear thingy. If the wheels get anything on them (literally anything, even dirt) the brushes stop spinning. It's kinda sad.Not sure what I was expecting with a cheap manual vacuum, but it wasn't this. It doesn't exactly disappoint, but it's not that great either.
Skip the 'Sweep-Up' buy the 'Natural'
September 9, 2015
I purchased a similar carpet sweeper for my office the Bissel Natural. Comparing the two that I own I much prefer the Bissel Natural to the Bissel Sweep-Up. The primary difference is the rollers that assist with sweeping in the Sweep-Up fall out and lack stability within the base of the sweeper. The natural is much sturdier. If I were thinking about a future purchase the natural is a far superior product to the sweep-up.
Quality has changed
March 2, 2015
I am not impressed. I used to use these years ago when working at a restaurant during my high school years. They worked great then.As with so many other things, the quality has diminished. It takes too many passes to pick up crumbs that it should pick up readily, and doesn't even pick them all up. Dumping this thing is a joke, and some of the debris is sure to get back onto your floor. This is a lot better than having nothing at all, I can definitely tell that I used it, even with its flaws. Need a cost-effective solution that beats sweeping the rug with a broom, this is good. If you have a little more to spend, I'd say skip it.
it is hard to push like the wheel doesn't spin well
December 28, 2014
I bought this one then received the red one as a gift and they are very different. The blue is so short (I'm 5'4") and have to stoop to use it. Also, it is hard to push like the wheel doesn't spin well. Now the red one on the other hand is my new best friend! It is perfect in handle length, rolls very easily, and sucked pretty much anything up. Just need to remember to empty it and it will keep you happy. I have medium pile carpet and have only had trouble picking up the random unpopped popcorn kernal. As for hardwood it is 90% perfect. I sometimes need to go behind with a broom but for the most part I'm thrilled! So, forget the blue one and get the red one. You'll be glad you did.

Doesn't work very well on my carpets
April 9, 2017
After looking at all the reviews of carpet sweepers, I chose this one.Its been a real disappointment. It doesn't pick up at all on my soft carpet and on my berber itonly does a 1/2 job. Cleaning the bristles with the little brush they provide is a pain.Just wish I had returned it within the 30 days.
Broke Pretty Quickly
October 7, 2015
The mechanism works fine and sucks dirt, surface hair, and chunks off of our low nap rugs with decent efficiency. Not sure how it would work on taller nap carpet. The problem? The handle that screws on to the base. Mine stripped down there very quickly due to the low quality metal and low quality threads. I can still use if for now, but it only a matter of time until the handle will just pop off when trying to use it. Who knows, maybe I got a dud.

Didn't Work for Intended Purpose
December 1, 2016
The company shipped the product promptly, and the sweeper is made from sturdy metal. However, the sweeper does not work for the intended purpose which was to sweep up cat litter that flows over from the boxes, and kibbles from the food bowls. It will not pick up kibbles even after several passes. It does work pretty well to pick up hair, so we use it for the bathrooms. It is a disappointment overall.
I am fairly disappointed. It does not pick up cheerios
March 11, 2016
I purchased this for my hardwood floors. With two messy toddlers and a golden retriever, I was hoping it would pick up some light dirt that was too insignificant for the vacuum. I am fairly disappointed. It does not pick up cheerios, leaves, small pieces of anything on the hardwood. It is good for dog hair on the carpet, but of course that means it fills up quickly and often redeposits the dog hair somewhere else. I would recommend finding another product.
Expected More
January 31, 2015
We had a Bissell Sweeper many years back which was a superb product. In our move from Calif, it turned up missing. Moreover, this sweeper was a replacement. First of all our order was received in record time. Further, the cost was inexpensive. But, as the saying goes , "You pay for what you get " this product falls short on performance. The nylon bristles are too long and thick which makes it difficult to push and pull on our carpet. ( Short pile carpet ). On our runners, which is a tighter weave, it picks up debris a little better, however,(push and pull is still harsh.)This unit remains tucked away.
I had another one just like it and lasted years so I did know how ...
December 10, 2014
Broke the second time we used it, contacted company the return was not going to be cost effective to me. If they found it not my fault or if they found it my fault. I had another one just like it and lasted years so I did know how to use it, the old one had just worn out. So rather than take the chance of them saying it was my fault. I just went and bought another one a battery powered one it works great.
Not worth it
November 17, 2014
I did not like this one bit. I made many excuses to try to keep it, but it just wasn't doing its job. It didn't get the dirt into the compartment. I had to go over a lot of spots repeatedly, and then I realized how much time I am wasting. This was supposed to make things easier and faster. So I trashed this and bought the Dyson stick vacuum which I love! The only thing I liked about this sweeper was that there is no charger like most sweepers.
Doesn't last
March 28, 2013
It sweeps! It picks up crud from the surface of the carpet! Carpet's nasty secret is that it takes unto itself the tracked-in and fallen-upon crud of the day, and pulls it down into the carpet fibres. This won't help with that; that requires suction, and a big nasty noisy vacuum cleaner. What this will do is pull the mung and dree off the top of the carpet so that you can ignore the grotty buildup below the surface longer. If you live on floors which have no carpet, you're in real luck! This item will clean up everything, and there will be no buildup.Update: this item lasted around six months. At that point, during normal usage, the roller bucked and crumpled, and the item is now unusable. No longer recommended.

Crappy sweeper
March 24, 2016
A total waste of money and space(after throwing away, I mean waste of garbage bin space)I don't know what kind of rugs or carpeting people Love this product have but for our very short pile of rugs vinyl kitchen floors this thing did nothing. It was simply pushing the Cheerios all over the edges and you have to either hand picking or sweeping them up using a broom and a dustpan, hence making this whole product a total useless. I tried for a few days and different types of flooring and stuff to be picked up, each time it miserably failed. Manufacturer says on the box that it will work on on different floor surfaces, well yes it works and it works like crap. Do not recommend and if I didn't threw away the box I would return and ask for my money back
Falls Apart Very Quickly
November 30, 2014
First, the handle is too short for taller people. You could do damage to your back using it for a long time, an opportunity I have been denied. (oh look, a silver lining)This worked great, for two rooms. On the third room, it fell apart. I cleaned it, reassembled it, and now it falls apart about every yard of sweeping. I don't know if I got a lemon and the rest of them are fabulous, but this one is junk.
Brush falls out!
June 27, 2014
Save yourself the trouble and don't buy this. The brush falls out every time it starts sweeping. I put it back in a few times but finally decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I returned it and instead bought a Fuller Brush Co. Electrostatic Carpet Sweeper. It's more expensive but worth it. The brush stays in and it's just better quality.

Having said that your do get some things that just don't work out it's a gamble( perhaps that's part of the fun) but in this case I lost this thing was bought to pick up stuff from my hardwood floors an boy does it not do that. then I tried my rugs and the sweeper roller fell off. ssoooooo I'm still using a broom and the sweeper in in the trash!
Wonderful to terrible
April 6, 2013
My vacuum cleaner has been acting up and I need a replacement but cant afford one anytime soon. I remembered having a old zoom broom (chunky green thing that probably came out in the 60s, lol) and I just loved it. I bought it used at yard sale and used it until I wore it out. So I came online and couldn't find them and just luckily ran onto these Bissel Sweep up's. It was easy to put together and picked up so much hair and dirt on its first use. It empties easily, the handle has good movement so its easy to push and maneuver around things, and its easy for even the youngest member of the family to operate! Wonderful item :)*Update - this worked well for a while but then the brush fell off. Once the brush was put back on it became flimsy and fell off constantly. So I ended up tossing it into the trash. Its cheap made and will work well for a while then break down on you. Buy something else.
