August 23, 2017
Works really well on my apartment's carpet. Industrial strength carpet, kinda like the carpet you see in dorm rooms or hotel hallways. This is perfect for that. I didn't want to spend the money on an actual vacuum, and now I don't have to!

This little sweeper is well worth the money. It is very easy to see that it works well when just after a few passes you go to empty it and see all of the dirt it picked up. Very lite and easy to handle. It is perfect for elderly people who can not use a vacuum cleaner.
Great tool

I had wanted one of these ever since I used one at my aunts house when I spent my summer vacation there.Handy for the quick cleanup under the dining table when you don't want to drag out the vacuum cleaner. Quiet too.
Great little sweeper!
January 23, 2017
This little sweeper is awesome because of the first the price, and how well it picked up all the pet hair from my two dogs.Even my full sized power vacuum leaves behind a lot of debri and this sweeper don't make a lot of noise so now I don't have to worryabout disturbing me neighbor when I need to sweep. I recommend this to everyone.
Perfect for little messes! Godsend for husky hair
September 8, 2016
LOVE this product! I am a clean-freak, and hate to see little crumbs/debris on the floor. It drives me insane. However it's also a hassle to get the vaccum out EVERY single time. This is a great in between solution, and is quick and easy and surprisingly effective. Works much better than other similar sweepers I have seen. Became a necessity when I got my husky, and has been a godsend ever since!
... husband's Amazon account but I wanted to review this great product, can't beat it for the price
April 15, 2016
This is my husband's Amazon account but I wanted to review this great product, can't beat it for the price. I bought it originally because I was tired of around my children's play area once or twice a day. I purchased it based off of the current reviews I have to say I'm not disappointed at all. In fact my three year old and one and a half year old love to push it around and help mommy out I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Highly recommend it
September 15, 2017
After reading reviews of similar floor sweepers, I was persuaded this was the best choice -- and I'm really pleased with it. Easy to assemble, sturdy, good value, and it sweeps both hardwood floors and carpets well. Perfect for quick touch-ups without the hassle of a vacuum.

The screw-in handle (better than other models) comes in segments, so I left one out and it's the perfect size for my kids. It's a great way to introduce them to some basic chores around the house -- the floor vacuum is far to heavy for them, but they find this one fun.

All around, I wound definitely recommend this model.
If my old one still looked as good as the one in my picture I'd still be ...
May 25, 2017
I've used a Bissell carpet sweeper since the 70's. It never stopped working it just got so ugly I couldn't stand it anymore! The new one works as well as the old one though much lighter. I wouldn't trade it for all the Swiffers in the world! If my old one still looked as good as the one in my picture I'd still be using it!
Works really well
February 13, 2017
I was really hesitant to buy this sweeper. I can remember being little and playing with one and it worked well. I liked the idea you can grab it and use it quickly and quietly. This sweeper works very well on low pile carpets, throw rugs, wood floors and uneven slate floors. It works better than I expected. I have 3 big dogs and 3 big kids. This works well for helping clean up after all of them. Highly recommended.
Good on small grit
October 29, 2016
I got this after doing a lot of research on these manual sweepers, and I no longer have to drag the electric around. It picks up more than I thought it might. Good on small grit, dust, cat hair; works well on bare floors and carpet. Sometimes you have to go back and forth over something to get it, but the sweeper is so light it doesn't matter.
Great on carpet, not too bad on tile, superglue the handle topper
July 23, 2015
I had read some reviews for this, and they were all accurate: works great on carpet, works not too bad on tile-like hard floors, and the top handle part does not stay on. I super glued the top handle part down, and it has not been a problem since. I have two cats that shed like CRAZY, so I needed a product that was not as scary to them as a loud electric vacuum (cats shed more when they are scared, so loud vacuuming was counterproductive), and this natural sweep came through. The cats do not mind it at all, and it does a great job picking up all their hair AND their cat litter pieces off my carpeted apartment. We do not have much tile, but the small bathroom section that does seemed to be fine as well. Just superglue the handle topper down before you even begin, it saves a lot of frustration in the end

The One To Buy!
December 7, 2016
What a little work horse. I knew the Bissell would be good but man alive, I had no idea it would be this good! Thank you, Bissell.Up until the other week I had been using a beat up old Bissell that I'd found in our condo trash room. I most have used it for another 20 years, seriously. I finally decided it was time to give it up and buy this new one. This one is a dynamo. It grabs all the dust, dirt and lint, etc. in sight. Carpets and marble floors. Doesn't miss a thing.A little over $18.00, no batteries, no electricity..as low tech as they come and it works just fine. You'll be just as pleased and will certainly have no regrets having bought this one. I didn't have any problems with the handle.I much appreciated the fast delivery. This one is a sweetheart.
Great sweeper More than great price
March 4, 2016
I purchased this sweeper for our conference center. We have meeting 8 meeting rooms that fit from 14 to 150 people. There is never a day withoutsome kind if mess. We have very low pile commercial carpet in a darker color so frequent clean ups are necessary. This little sweeper is great! It will pick up spills from sugar packets, crumbs from flakey pastries and scraps of paper. It has worked well on every thing. I have a battery charged sweeper at home, but in an office it is impossible to keep something charged all the time. It seems that when you really need it there is no power.Purchased this sweeper mainly because of the Bissell name, but was wary because of the great price. Don't worry sometimes you get MORE than you pay for.
Extremely happy with this product!
April 27, 2015
Never thought I'd get one of these, but needed something for sweeping up on those days I don't want to bother with getting out the vacuum. Did quite a bit of looking around here on Amazon, considering various models, reading reviews, etc., before settling on this little Bissell. The reasonable price both pleased and concerned me: "pleased" because I wasn't spending an arm and a leg; "concerned" because cheap products are so often crummy ones. The little sweeper arrived packaged in a small rectangular box. You have to screw the handle (which comes in several pieces) together, then screw that onto the swivel bar already attached to the sweeper. I was impressed at how easily everything went together: no problem with the threading, etc. It felt sturdy, and i noticed right away that the mechanism for dirt pick-up went out to the edges, too - a plus for getting corners, as I've found out since! I have used the sweeper several times now, and am pleased to report that it works well and does what the manufacturers statement says it will! I use my sweeper on my "throw carpets" as well as the linoleum floor in my kitchen/dining room. It picks up well on either surface, and even gets cat hair off the rugs with one pass. I am extremely happy with this product!
Sweep-tastic!
February 23, 2015
I remember these simple appliances from my childhood. There's a reason they're still around...they really do work! Nothing to plug in or recharge, and they're much quieter than my vacuum. I've got a line of litter boxes in my Arizona room which I scoop morning and night. Cats track litter out when they exit the facilities and I like to clean the floor up some before I kneel on it to clean the boxes. If I run the vacuum in the morning, it wakes up hubby, so this is the perfect solution. I'm impressed how much this sweeper picks up: all the litter that is reachable and cat and dog hair from the rug, along with hundreds of mesquite leaves that get tracked into the screened patio/"catio" by the dogs. I've even used it on the tile in the house and it does a pretty good job of cleaning (even in the grout lines). This is so handy for quick clean-ups between vacuuming!
A life changing product.
December 11, 2014
I have had it four a few weeks now and I wonder now if I ever needed an electric vacuum cleaner. Sure I know the suction in theory is better, but in reality, the Bissell sweeps all my carpets so quickly and easily that I "vacuum" far more often and my carpets are on average much more clean. I find I use it daily to do quick areas around the house where I only pulled out my vacuum on weekends. The Bissell goes under everything and is small enough to go between almost everything. I have a leather sofa and loveseat with about three inches clearance that the Bissell goes fully under. Stair carpet is also quick and easy to sweep.Cleaning the unit is a breeze as I just put the Bissell in the trash can and pop open the dirt holders to empty. After a couple shakes I snap close the holders before removing from the trash container. FAR quicker than emptying the big dirt collector on the central vac or the bags on my smaller vac.I also have some low, thick rugs, runners and carpets that my powerful house vac never was able to clean effectively because the thick pile either made it hard for the sweeper to sweep, or the dense carpet blocked the suction so it didn't pick up dirt well. Finally, the Bissell does an OK job on floors (although I still use a regular broom to clean them each week.On a slightly negative note ... I did need my mallet to install (read "smash on") the rubber handle, but overall it was quick and easy to put together.
Great little crumb sweeper!
November 28, 2014
The term "cordless" strikes me as a bit misleading, since the only power that runs this sweeper is muscle power - there is nothing to plug in or charge. That said, this is an excellent little sweeper. I got it mostly to clean the low pile throw rugs and runners I have placed to keep my old dog from slipping on our hardwood and tile floors - I don't even own a real vacuum anymore since we don't have any carpet, and didn't want to buy one just for these rugs. The sweeper works great on the rugs, what I didn't expect was that it works great on my hardwood and tile floors too - about as well as a broom and dustpan. The dirt reservoir on the sweeper isn't huge (it's just the size of the sweeper head) so if I'm doing the whole floor, and it's dirty then I'm better off using the broom and dustpan, because if I use the sweeper I'll have to keep emptying it. But for in-between cleaning, and small dry spills it is EXCELLENT. It will pick up short dog and cat hairs off the floor as well as a broom. Picks up bigger things too, like crumbs and leaves. And it folds flat to slide under low furniture much better than a broom. This makes it easy to store too.Emptying the reservoir is easy, it has 2 lids on the underside that just flip up. There is one large central brush, and smaller ones on each end - these can get hairs or fibers wrapped around them which need to be pulled loose. The good news is, that since there is no motor you don't have to worry about a motor burning out because a brush gets bound up with hair.

Doesn't get cramps up against he wall but I just use my foot to pull the dumb out a bit and it picks it up
August 12, 2017
I bought one of these to take to work. I work in a buffet and using a broom hurt my back. It picks up really well on the carpet. Doesn't get cramps up against he wall but I just use my foot to pull the dumb out a bit and it picks it up. After seeing how this worked, a friend asked me to get her two for her kids and the manager when I work ordered them for the buffet. I'm very pleased with this product.
Great for our RV
July 17, 2017
We bought this for our RV to sweep the small areas of carpet and it works well. I can even pick up some of the larger dirt items on the floor that is not carpeted. It is lightweight and stores well in the little closet. I would recommend for light and quick carpet cleaning. It was easy to put together and easy to dump.

Overall it works well. Wish the handle was a little longer and it's hard to push on carpet and hard floors. But overall I'm happy with the product and it gets cat hair up really well.
Love my Bissell
June 22, 2017
I have four dogs so there is dog hair everywhere. When sweeping with a traditional broom I can't ever get all the hair but when I use the Bissell it gets all the dog hair great. It is very easy to empty and much quicker and easier than getting out the vacuum.
It works alright
December 22, 2016
I bought this because it was highly recommended on a page I follow on Facebook. I have all hardwood on the first floor of my town home, so I thought it would be perfect for pre-mopping.It works...but just enough. From the stories I heard I expected it to be a lot better. You have to be rolling it pretty quickly for it to work well. For edges I still have to sweep debris to the middle of the floor and then use this sweeper...but then some of the stuff just gets thrown around. For the price, it works, but I probably won't use it much.
Great for carpet, not bare floors.
September 16, 2016
I gave it 4 stars because I had read the reviews and already knew it would not be great on hardwoods so I bought it solely for the rugs through out our house. And for that, it works great. BUT as pretty much every reviewer has said, it is not for bare floors of any type. It uses brushes on the underside of it so those brushes need something to cling too. Bare floors don't have that. However, if you are ok with rolling over the same crumbs or whatever, over and over again until it finally picks them up, then you'll be thrilled with the bare floor capabilities. It also pushes the debris around on bare floors so you'll have to chase the dirt a little bit on a bare floor if you are intent on using this for that purpose. LOLAll in all, it is lightweight, relatively quiet, especially compared to even a handy vac, so it's well worth the cheap price.

A sweeper that works.
August 14, 2016
This sweeper Dose The Job.....I have out door green carpet in my 25'x30' yard and sweeping leaves and small vegetation with a broom is the norm, but small crumbs are hard to get up with the broom at times....make a pile pick it up....went to the movie theater with the wife and saw the staff using a sweeper like this to pick up popcorn and crumbs off the floor, did my research and ordered this bisell and it works great. it picks up dry leaves and fills up the two conpartments pretty well with small hard to get up crumbs...this sweeper is very lite so if you have some wavey areas on your artificial turf you may have to apply a little pressure on the handle, this is not for lazy people....otherwise use an electric canaster vac and beware that the out door rug is not wet....".that can be expensive to replace"
It does a great job on the carpet pickup up loose animal hair ...
February 29, 2016
My wife and I purchased this after having a baby. We have a long haired dog and cat and our new crawler loves nothing more then to crawl around and pickup hair balls. My wife was having trouble finding time to vacuum as our baby also happens to be a light sleeper, so we looked into the carpet sweeper option, and purchased the Bissell Natural Sweep. It does a great job on the carpet pickup up loose animal hair and hair clumps. It's easy to use, lightweight, but built well enough it doesn't feel cheap. We can quickly use it while the baby is napping or in another room to catch up between time to vacuum. My only complaint is I would like it to work better on our linoleum, it sometimes just pushes the larger "dust bunnies" around and only does an okay job picking up cat litter. We did have a shipping snafu when ordering, but in typical Amazon customer service fashion I had one within a few days of making a complaint to them.
My Bissell 92NOA Sweeper Has a Redesigned Handle
October 9, 2013
After reading many reviews of non-electric sweepers, I decided to get this dual brush version. Received it today, 10/9/13, and was very pleased to find that the handle is now sturdy and SCREWS TOGETHER nicely--no hammering, taping or glueing! Looks like Bissell responded to all the negative reviews regarding the previous handle design issue. Assembly was under five minutes. The handle comes in four sections, one of which contains an internal plastic plug. This section must be screwed onto the short threaded rod at the top of the sweeper base--easy as pie. Used it on one carpet and it does the job so far. Simple assembly instructions are on the back of the box. My wife and I are taller than average and the 44-inch long handle is just fine. Another thoughtful touch is that the handle mount has a detent to hold the handle in the upright position so it can stand up and let you walk away; the handle stays up and doesn't flop down. The two brushes are easily removable for cleaning by flexing the plastic housing slightly outward where the brush axle rods protrude--nice feature. I gave it four stars since we just got it and will have to see how it performs over time.

BTW: Note that it does pick up on both push and pull strokes. Only the rear brush rotates on push (forward) stroke; only the front brush rotates on pull stroke (reverse). I think that's why there are two dust bins.
efficient little sweeper
August 25, 2013
I bought this to replace my 20-year-old bissell carpet sweeper which had outlived its long and dutiful life. with two brushes, this is more efficient. we have an australian cattle dog who sheds a lot. so having a reliable carpet sweeper that we can use almost daily is important. with two brushes, this does the job very well. one of the brushes is the standard full brush as in our old model bissell. on the second brush, the bristles are not as stiff and spread out more. with both brushes rotating and with small brushes at each of the four corners, all the dog hair and surface dirt is picked up quickly and most of the debris along the walls is picked up, too.
the reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the opening for emptying the debris. it does open wide, but it does not remain open. i have to continue to push back on the cover to hold it open while i empty the sweeper. a little annoying since i have been used to an easy-open, stay open cover while emptying.
overall, this is a keeper, one that i hope will last another 20 years.
just like the old days
March 12, 2013
I have a short hair and a long hair cat. Rather than get out the vacuum cleaner I decided to buy a carpet sweeper remembering the one my Mother used when I was a youngster. The Bissel Natural Dual Brush Sweeper was easy to put together. No problem with the handle since I'd read all the reviews others had posted regarding problems with their handle. Just followed the guide on assembly. The cat hair from my long hair cat picks up nicely but I have to roll the sweeper in one direction, it doesn't pick up good if I run it back and forth. After I'm finished I have to go and pull the hairs off the bristels, which is rather a pain and takes some time to do. My husband loves it for use on our dry wood floors. Says it works great and it's easy to empty the catch compartment. All around a good product, but not perfect for picking up hair. I would have liked it for a little less than the $25 I paid, since I can purchase a vacuum cleaner for 3x that amount that works great. Time will tell how long the item lasts and how well the bristles hold up. Unless a better product comes out for hair removal on carpets I'd purchase this item again.

Why buy a clunky, noisy vacuum cleaner when all you really need is a carpet sweeper?
August 27, 2016
I find this a huge improvement over vacuum cleaners for routine use. It is light, quiet, energy efficient( no electricity) and easier to handle than most vacuum cleaners. It doesn't stir up dust and small particles into the air,is used from an ergonomic position. If you have carpeting, this is a great substitute for the vacuum and so light and easy even children, back-injured and frail elders can use it. With a broom or dust mop for hard floors, you can go for weeks without vacuuming. The carpets might even stay cleaner than with vacuum frequently, since the sweeper used almost daily means stuff is being picked up before it gets crushed deeper into the pile. Then use (share with neighbors!) vacuum for corners, furniture and drapes, etc. This is a great value, and though there may be more deluxe and sturdy versions, it will cost you only a one time price at purchase. Mine was on sale for 12.79.Even at normal price of 19.99 it compares well with the price of a new broom. The motorized versions arent much of an improvement in cleaning ability and no significant difference in the little strength needed to operate it., so I'd stick with manual over electriic, and next time I buy one will probably pay more for a more durable product.Even at the normal Amazon price of 19.99, it cost about the same as a new, sturdy broom.
works okay on carpet, so-so on floors
May 24, 2016
As others have stated, it's so-so on laminate floors. Can't get all the little grit but gets most of it. Sometimes it just pushes it in front. Defnitely doesn't get the dusty footprints that show up on dark laminate. Seems to be good for little area rugs though. For $20 I'll still have a use for it, just not what I bought it for.
carpet sweeper
January 20, 2016
I got this so I could have a second carpet sweeper in the house. I have one downstairs and wanted to have one upstairs. I have a vacuum upstairs and downstairs so I don't have to carry the stuff and run the chance of getting hurt. I think this thing works pretty good. It does pick up stuff like kitty litter and dry cat food. I have two cats and they tend to drop some of their food and the cat litter is always getting out of the boxes so instead of making noise in the middle of the night while one is sleeping I use these things and all is good. I am not sure how long this is going to last but at least this one works. If you are looking for a good carpet sweeper I almost would say the fuller one is the better one. I have an old one that is still holding up with lots of heavy use.
Great for Kids
December 18, 2014
I got tired of having to vaccum up every day after the world's messiest 8 year old. I dont trust the precious little slob with my expensive vacuum so i found this nice little light weight alternative for her to use to clean up after herself. It does take a few extra strokes than a normal vaccum but I like that she has to work a little harder to clean up after herself. My intent is to teach her to stop being so gosh darn messy! Anyways it is perfect for area rugs or kid's bedrooms, but wouldn't recommend using it to clean an entirr carpeted house. Perfect for teaching messy kids how to clean up after themselves! Deducted 1 star because every once in a while the center brush pops out and i have to squeeze it back in, but of course what do you expect for $14... I mean really :)
Great Tool at a Low Price but I Wore It Out
September 11, 2014
+ Quieter than a vacuum+ No power/cords required+ Small, easy to hang like a broom+ Metal body and handle construction- Not as fast as a vacuum- Needs constant cleaning to stay efficient (washes easy but hard to de-fuzz roller)- You get quite a workout pushing and pushing it...- Handle unscrews with use (glue it?)- Short handle for 5'10" person, have to lean over- Only "sweeps" to within 1.5" of wall/obstacle- Have to push down when pulling to make wheels/brush spinLoved it and used it daily until I bent the roller brush and it didn't roll right. Tried to bend it back but that didn't work. Haven't used it since we moved because we have no more carpet. Yay! Use a broom on the hardwood floors.
A good buy for quick cleaning
February 13, 2014
I recently adopted a cockatoo that is (understandably) frightened of our electric vacuum. I was using a regular broom and dustpan to clean up the seeds on my carpet throughout the day, and it was becoming a chore. i read several reviews on different models of these manual sweepers, and didn't want to spend a ton of money, so I took a chance on this one. I admit I was not impressed when I opened the box, it looked like cheap unit not worth more than $10.00, however, I was surprised that this sweeper has performed overall quite well for my needs. I use this on regular pile carpeting in my LR, and also hardwood areas. It has been able to pick up bird seed, some food stuffs, and even cardboard bits left by my birds daily rituals. The sweeper leaves a nice swept look on my carpet, I mean, it looks like I actually vacuumed. If I had company stop by unannounced I could probably run this thing across the floor in a few minutes and no one would be the wiser! Although it is not deep cleaned, per se, it's cleaning better than a broom and I don't have cords and loud noise to deal with. I will be buying another one for my back porch!

It's quite good when you first start to use it and works very well - however I have now gone through 3 of them in about a year because they keep jamming and hair gets all caught up in it. For the price though it's what you get. It is really a great picker up for light use.

Not really very useful and it broke almost immediately when a small plastic tab broke off, that was holding the front brush on. I bought a cordless vacuum and much prefer it.
Ok
January 9, 2017
Ok for quick cleanups when you don't want to pull out the big vac.My cats killed a bird on my rug and left feathers; those were not picked up.
Great for carpets . . . not for hard floors
September 19, 2016
This little sweeper works great in my classroom for our large carpet. My carpet looks fabulous. However, I bought this thinking that it would work as a multi-surface sweeper. On the hard floor it misses trash, grass, etc. This sweeper also will empty its contents out on you if you push too hard on it while on any surface. It is a great product, if, you only want it for carpets. If you are looking for a multi-surface sweeper, look elsewhere.

June 12, 2017
It's okay. I hate having to clean it and don't like that I have to go over things sometimes a few times to get them to pick up, but what do you expect for such a low price and no noise. The two areas that hold the debris open easily and empty with a bit of clearing. I have to pull the hair and debris out of the two rollers.
Not very good on hard floors. Just pushes stuff around.
April 21, 2017
Meh. It does not work well at all on hard floors. It mostly pushes the dirt and debris around. Works best for stuff in the middle of the floor, but when you don't have a lot of space to push/pull this thing past and over the debris, it won't get it. We caved and got an expensive powered one for the kitchen. This will work on short rugs and carpet.
Easy to empty
March 23, 2017
Works ok on hard surface flooring but sometimes would not pick up everything. Easy to empty. Wish the handle was foldable or collapsible because it is kinda tall. Seems to have a hard time on low pile carpet had to do many passes to pick items up. Overall easy to use and more effective than a broom and dustpan but no replacement for a vacuum.

March 13, 2017
This is not even nearly heavy duty in an sense, and can't take much pressure on it to pick up on deeper piled carpeting, but it work OK. Does an OK job in my craft room for those millions of little teeny pieces of paper that fall on the carpet and does a very decent job on the hard floor under the bird cage with flung out seeds, etc. It serves a purpose.
Not great for laminate floors

Not sure if it's because my laminate floors are too slippery, but sometimes it just pushes dirt around - takes a few sweeps to pick up some stuff.

Thought it would be lighter weight, but maybe it's better that it has more heft.

Meh
May 13, 2017
Well, it works good, about half the time. It tends to spit grime back out, and the brushes get clogged easy. Bought it for the name... Bissell, kept it because it was too late to send it back. Gonna give this one a few more months and then donate it and try something else.
Disappointed
December 27, 2015
I bought this to save a few bucks instead of investing in a Fuller Brush carpet sweeper. I own two of those and I'm sorry I just didn't stick with what I know. This pushes the dirt around while also picking up some of it but you can see what you're missing. A little disappointed and wish I got the Fuller Brush one.
Honestly, a broom would be more useful.
October 2, 2015
It's a broom thing that is supposed to sweep up things. It does a pretty okay job, but I'm not super impressed with it.It struggles to sweep up from solid floors like a kitchen, but it does get larger objects off it. Struggles sweeping cat litter, struggles sweeping if you can't get momentum. The part that operates the brushes is attached to the wheels using some rubbery gear thingy. If the wheels get anything on them (literally anything, even dirt) the brushes stop spinning. It's kinda sad.Not sure what I was expecting with a cheap manual vacuum, but it wasn't this. It doesn't exactly disappoint, but it's not that great either.
Skip the 'Sweep-Up' buy the 'Natural'
September 9, 2015
I purchased a similar carpet sweeper for my office the Bissel Natural. Comparing the two that I own I much prefer the Bissel Natural to the Bissel Sweep-Up. The primary difference is the rollers that assist with sweeping in the Sweep-Up fall out and lack stability within the base of the sweeper. The natural is much sturdier. If I were thinking about a future purchase the natural is a far superior product to the sweep-up.
Quality has changed
March 2, 2015
I am not impressed. I used to use these years ago when working at a restaurant during my high school years. They worked great then.As with so many other things, the quality has diminished. It takes too many passes to pick up crumbs that it should pick up readily, and doesn't even pick them all up. Dumping this thing is a joke, and some of the debris is sure to get back onto your floor. This is a lot better than having nothing at all, I can definitely tell that I used it, even with its flaws. Need a cost-effective solution that beats sweeping the rug with a broom, this is good. If you have a little more to spend, I'd say skip it.
it is hard to push like the wheel doesn't spin well
December 28, 2014
I bought this one then received the red one as a gift and they are very different. The blue is so short (I'm 5'4") and have to stoop to use it. Also, it is hard to push like the wheel doesn't spin well. Now the red one on the other hand is my new best friend! It is perfect in handle length, rolls very easily, and sucked pretty much anything up. Just need to remember to empty it and it will keep you happy. I have medium pile carpet and have only had trouble picking up the random unpopped popcorn kernal. As for hardwood it is 90% perfect. I sometimes need to go behind with a broom but for the most part I'm thrilled! So, forget the blue one and get the red one. You'll be glad you did.

The brush won't stay inside. Every time I use it I have to put the brush back in. It's useless at this point. I've had it for 6 months, and I have to replace it.

Waste of money!!
Does not work well
May 6, 2017
It hardly picked up much. It just pushed the dirt and animal fur around. I'm looking for a different one. Hopefully I'll find one that works.

My sweeper arrived yesterday and I was very impressed with how well it worked. Later on when using it the brush popped off. It's very difficult for me to put back on so now it doesn't work.
Just okay!
January 11, 2017
In the past Bissell has always meant quality products. This particular item is not. There is no way to clean the bristles when rug's fibers get caught up in the sweeper. I wish I could return it, but I don't have the box it came in.
Not exactly a great buy
December 5, 2016
This sweeper works...okay...sometimes...sort of...not really. It does an okay job at picking up small, loose debris from the surface of our area rugs but that is about it. It does not do a very good job at picking up pet hair beyond a very limited amount, you have to empty it constantly or it begins to redeposit what it has picked up back on to the floors, and it does not do a very good job of sweeping up debris from our hardwood floors. For a quick once over from a rug that is already about 95% clean, it is fine. But it does not do a very good job beyond that. I am giving it two stars simply because it is convenient for quick, superficial, minimal rug sweeping. Actually, if I could, I would just give it 1.5 stars. It's better to save your money for a vacuum.

Doesn't work at all. Not on carpet, tile, or linoleum. I guess I'm suppose to just push it around for fun and not actually accomplish anything. Doesn't pick up little scraps of paper, dog hair, human hair, general high traffic area dirt, nothing!! Not even if you stand there and swipe the same area in different directions. I tried putting a little pressure on it to see if that would work and of course, it didn't. This has turned into a training type "vacuum" that my kids like to push around thinking they are being very helpful. I can not recommend this product, not even if it was just $20.
Not as Advertised
May 24, 2017
Not impressed. We really needed a quick pick me up at our business that has industrial carpet (no fluff). Besides having a handle that keeps coming loose, it really didn't do a very good job removing the small things we expected eliminating the need to vacuum so frequently. I cannot recommend this product.
Keep pushing
December 28, 2016
I'm not sure why there are so many positive review, on carpet it barely picks up cheerios, and only after 3 or 4 pass firmly pushing down on the handle. On hardwood/tile it performs worse, it just pushes the cheerios to the side or leaves it on the floor. I found myself picking up the cheerios by hand and putting it directly in front of the sweeper. Bottom line: for the occasional cleaning or mess it is not efficient, if you have a big mess it might be faster. I recommend getting an electric as they only cost 10 or more than this sweeper.
Not as good as a dustpan and broom
March 27, 2015
I found it easy to assemble, however I hardly ever use it because I find that a regular dustpan and broom picks up much, much more than this. I would run over the same thing again and again and yet it still would not pick it up. It was almost as if it chose what to pick up and what not to, as when I emptied it there was stuff in there, but not everything that needed to be by far. Also, it spits some of the things that it picks up out the back in tiny pieces, so then I end up with an even bigger mess than I started with. I wouldn't buy this again.
Crumbs on hardwood? Nope.
January 13, 2014
I wanted a sweeper for use on my hardwood floors to clean up under our dining room table, since I've got two young kids who make a mess at every meal. I wanted something that would be a little easier than a broom and dustpan. Unfortunately, while the sweeper seems to do a great job on little scraps of paper or anything with some mass, it does a terrible job with food crumbs, like Cheerios bits. It gets some but ends up just pushing other bits around and I have to go over and over the same areas to get it to pick up. I'm not sure whether other sweepers do a better job on hardwood, but this thing was a $20 experiment that wound up in the BUST column.

Didn't Work for Intended Purpose
December 1, 2016
The company shipped the product promptly, and the sweeper is made from sturdy metal. However, the sweeper does not work for the intended purpose which was to sweep up cat litter that flows over from the boxes, and kibbles from the food bowls. It will not pick up kibbles even after several passes. It does work pretty well to pick up hair, so we use it for the bathrooms. It is a disappointment overall.
I am fairly disappointed. It does not pick up cheerios
March 11, 2016
I purchased this for my hardwood floors. With two messy toddlers and a golden retriever, I was hoping it would pick up some light dirt that was too insignificant for the vacuum. I am fairly disappointed. It does not pick up cheerios, leaves, small pieces of anything on the hardwood. It is good for dog hair on the carpet, but of course that means it fills up quickly and often redeposits the dog hair somewhere else. I would recommend finding another product.
Expected More
January 31, 2015
We had a Bissell Sweeper many years back which was a superb product. In our move from Calif, it turned up missing. Moreover, this sweeper was a replacement. First of all our order was received in record time. Further, the cost was inexpensive. But, as the saying goes , "You pay for what you get " this product falls short on performance. The nylon bristles are too long and thick which makes it difficult to push and pull on our carpet. ( Short pile carpet ). On our runners, which is a tighter weave, it picks up debris a little better, however,(push and pull is still harsh.)This unit remains tucked away.

December 10, 2014
Broke the second time we used it, contacted company the return was not going to be cost effective to me. If they found it not my fault or if they found it my fault. I had another one just like it and lasted years so I did know how to use it, the old one had just worn out. So rather than take the chance of them saying it was my fault. I just went and bought another one a battery powered one it works great.
Not worth it
November 17, 2014
I did not like this one bit. I made many excuses to try to keep it, but it just wasn't doing its job. It didn't get the dirt into the compartment. I had to go over a lot of spots repeatedly, and then I realized how much time I am wasting. This was supposed to make things easier and faster. So I trashed this and bought the Dyson stick vacuum which I love! The only thing I liked about this sweeper was that there is no charger like most sweepers.
Doesn't last
March 28, 2013
It sweeps! It picks up crud from the surface of the carpet! Carpet's nasty secret is that it takes unto itself the tracked-in and fallen-upon crud of the day, and pulls it down into the carpet fibres. This won't help with that; that requires suction, and a big nasty noisy vacuum cleaner. What this will do is pull the mung and dree off the top of the carpet so that you can ignore the grotty buildup below the surface longer. If you live on floors which have no carpet, you're in real luck! This item will clean up everything, and there will be no buildup.Update: this item lasted around six months. At that point, during normal usage, the roller bucked and crumpled, and the item is now unusable. No longer recommended.

Low Quality - Ours Broke after < 1 Month
August 8, 2017
We purchased this with hopes of picking up large crumbs/food off of the carpet left by our kids. It worked alright for a couple of weeks, but then the bristle bar broke and popped out of the bottom. We can put it back in, but it keeps coming out when we try to use it.In all, this sweeper lasted less than a month, which is a shame and a reflection of the quality of the product.
Shoots cat litter across the room
April 13, 2017
I just got this and tried it out in the room where my cat's litter box is. I tried it for about 5 minutes. It picked up some of the stray litter, but shot half of it around the room. I don't think I would have ever gotten it all. So, I grabbed my broom and did the entire floor in under two minutes. So, for cat litter, this is a useless product.

Does not work on tile or hardwood floors
I had this thing for less than 3 weeks and now it's in the trash.
January 24, 2017
This thing is awful, if I could give it zero stars, I would. First, if you have carpet that is dense then this thing will not glide easily across, you will need to put less pressure on it to try and push it. Second, if you using this thing for pet hair then I this thing will likely BREAK. The brushes on both ends will pick up the hair, but then the hair will need to be manually pulled from the bristles, which takes awhile to clear most of the hair from the bristles. However, the rod that holds the brushes in is EASILY bendable, and what holds the rod in place? A small piece of plastic that will easily break when pulling the hairs off the brush. I had this thing for less than 3 weeks and now it's in the trash.
Broke after a few days
November 1, 2016
This carpet sweeper worked surprisingly well for the first few days. Unfortunately, now the middle roller constantly pops out and can't be fixed. I wish that I bought a sturdier version. This sweeper is all plastic and didn't hold up past a few days.I would not recommend.

I was disappointed with this product. It does pick up crumbs on the carpet, but so good on hard wood floors. I was looking for something to help keep dog hair under control. This did NOT do the trick.

Doesn't work

We only used this sweeper a few times before it started making a noise and wouldn't sweep hardly anything up, not that it swept up much to begin with. Save your money and buy something that actually works!
Crappy sweeper
March 24, 2016
A total waste of money and space(after throwing away, I mean waste of garbage bin space)I don't know what kind of rugs or carpeting people Love this product have but for our very short pile of rugs vinyl kitchen floors this thing did nothing. It was simply pushing the Cheerios all over the edges and you have to either hand picking or sweeping them up using a broom and a dustpan, hence making this whole product a total useless. I tried for a few days and different types of flooring and stuff to be picked up, each time it miserably failed. Manufacturer says on the box that it will work on on different floor surfaces, well yes it works and it works like crap. Do not recommend and if I didn't threw away the box I would return and ask for my money back
Falls Apart Very Quickly
November 30, 2014
First, the handle is too short for taller people. You could do damage to your back using it for a long time, an opportunity I have been denied. (oh look, a silver lining)This worked great, for two rooms. On the third room, it fell apart. I cleaned it, reassembled it, and now it falls apart about every yard of sweeping. I don't know if I got a lemon and the rest of them are fabulous, but this one is junk.
Brush falls out!
June 27, 2014
Save yourself the trouble and don't buy this. The brush falls out every time it starts sweeping. I put it back in a few times but finally decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I returned it and instead bought a Fuller Brush Co. Electrostatic Carpet Sweeper. It's more expensive but worth it. The brush stays in and it's just better quality.

I love buying things from the internet. your surprised when it shows up, cost are low and there is some cool stuff out there. Having said that your do get some things that just don't work out it's a gamble( perhaps that's part of the fun) but in this case I lost this thing was bought to pick up stuff from my hardwood floors an boy does it not do that. then I tried my rugs and the sweeper roller fell off. ssoooooo I'm still using a broom and the sweeper in in the trash!
Wonderful to terrible
April 6, 2013
My vacuum cleaner has been acting up and I need a replacement but cant afford one anytime soon. I remembered having a old zoom broom (chunky green thing that probably came out in the 60s, lol) and I just loved it. I bought it used at yard sale and used it until I wore it out. So I came online and couldn't find them and just luckily ran onto these Bissel Sweep up's. It was easy to put together and picked up so much hair and dirt on its first use. It empties easily, the handle has good movement so its easy to push and maneuver around things, and its easy for even the youngest member of the family to operate! Wonderful item :)*Update - this worked well for a while but then the brush fell off. Once the brush was put back on it became flimsy and fell off constantly. So I ended up tossing it into the trash. Its cheap made and will work well for a while then break down on you. Buy something else.
