I have been meaning to buy a pair of shearing scissors for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on a hot, humid day when I was ready to chop all of my heavy and thick hair off. The day these came in the mail I immediately thinned out my hair and was immediately relieved! My hair feels so much lighter on my head and now takes less time to dry when I wash it. I kept all of my length so I can still tie it up in a bun, which is a huge help for my hands-on job during the week. I think this is something that I will do to prolong time in between trips to the salon. This is such a good investment to save money and time down the road! I'm so happy with these scissors.

I'm no professional, I just use these to trim my bangs and thin them out, but they are great for that! the thinning shears are perfect for non-pros because it's much harder to mess up with them since you can sort of blend out any mistakes. Even my hairdresser says I've been doing a great job keeping them neat since I started using them!

Thinned my hair once with these and i love them. I got sick of going to a stylist to have my hair thinned and it never being what i wanted and costing me 35 dollars a trip. so i bought these and theyre easy to use, and perfect.

I've used these once already and love them. They are a nice weight and feel sturdy in hand. I haven't had time to abuse them and see how they hold up to doing and getting wet, but I'm pleased with this. Especially good product for the price!

Ever since a particularly bad experience at the salon I decided to take matters into my own hands and cut my hair at home. I realized that my first step was purchasing the actual scissors themselves, so I ordered these based on their approval rating and I am more than satisfied. They are extremely sharp and easy to handle, and compared to some of the other ones I had purchased they were a lot more manageable! It's been a couple of months since I bought them and they have saved me so much money, and HAIR. I mostly cut my hair when it starts getting split ends or for a light dusting here and there. Overall a great purchase.

I've wanted to cut my own hair forever to save money, but I've always been so afraid. Finally, weeks of scheduling conflicts with my salon, and desperation for a haircut drove me to the breaking point, and I decided to go for it!I'm very much a DIY person with all things beauty, so I really don't know what took me so long to cut my own hair; after using these, and following farahdhukai's video on youtube to the T, I can honestly say I will never be going back to a salon. Not that I didn't love my salon- I did! But I usually spent about $65 per cut, and the cost of all my materials was less than half that. I also know myself well, and know exactly what I want from a haircut, so after following Farah's video, I was able to trim and edit to my liking. I'm in college, and at such a high price for a cut, I could only afford to get it done every 3 monthes, and my hair was miserable by then.I have very long, thin blonde hair that's prone to breakage, and is easily weighed down by products. I know typically you wouldn't use thinning shears on fine hair, but it worked out extremely well for me- weight is the enemy of thin hair!! Size (length) is just right, but otherwise a bit bulky & heavy.

Serves it purpose, but sometimes snags hairs. Ouch!

My barber retired and since I don't have thick hair anymore I invested in my own scissors. These work great to taper and thin our the areas where I still have hair. The scissors feel good in my hand and cut well. Good quality for the price. Maybe these are not for the professional but for home use they are fine.

These thinning shears are sharp and easy to use, but they awkwardly stick a little sometimes. I just make sure I open and close them well a few times before cutting, and then they are smooth to use. I recently started trimming my own bangs, and these are exactly what I need (paired with regular shears).

Work pretty well for a home taught hair dresser. I use these on my 3 year old son to thin out the top back, and it does the job.

the screw holding the blades together fell out... but i was able to get a screwdriver and reinsert. the blades themselves are very sharp and seem good quality for the price.

I lost my scissors and needed a quick and cheap replacement. These aren't y favorite, but they work. They're sharp, but not as smooth and easy to use. They're fine for now though.

These scissors are pretty small. But for what I need - trimming my bangs and my husband's hair - they work. They are very sharp right out of the package. I don't know how they'll hold up over the course of years, but the first few weeks out of the package they have been good.

works well. be forewarned, the spacing for the cuts are a little smaller than one would think so you can easily over-thin hair you're processing.

My scissors went dull pretty quick. i think i only used them 4-5 times (with about 2 months in between usage as i used them on myself). they still cut but the dullness is obvious. i dont know if i would buy them again, but im not upset that i bought them. they served their job and saved me on at least 5 haircuts, which would have cost more than the scissors.

OK quality

Not nearly as good quality as I expected. They aren't very sharp and just feel a quite cheap. But they are a good pair to have when you need a quick "do it yourself" trim. I keep an extra pair at my friend's house when he needs a haircut and I'm visiting

The scissors was in a crappy plastic bag. There was suppose to be a cleaning cloth that was not there. The scissors has a black spot in one of the teeth. It works, but is not what they said it would be.

These scissors were very inexpensive compared to others on Amazon and I think it shows in the quality. Not very sharp. I have never owned hair cutting scissors but I don't find these to be as sharp or exact as I'd like. Splurge a little more, I wish I had!

I was a bit disappointed in theses scissors, as the middle was a bit bowed to where it was hard to make it cut. I would probably spend a bit more for a better pair of scissors next time.

These feel "grabby" when trying to cut my hair. They seem sharp enough, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I purchased these scissors to trim my dogs hair. I've used similar scissors for awhile and have had no problems. These work fine but are not that sharp. I usually have to cut with a certain angle for them to work well. Overall, for the price, they are okay but the quality is not the best.

The scissors are sharp and do the job, but the handles are so small and difficult to fit your fingers through...they are a bit uncomfortable. Maybe this is normal with this type of scissors, I don't know. Otherwise these are the trusted Goody brand and they'll get the job done if you know how to use them correctly.

I found these to be very bulky, heavy, and not very sharp. They are ok as a back-up, but I don't feel they give as clean of a cut as they should.

I bought these to replace a dulled pair of scissors......but these were worse that the dull pair that I already had. They just don't cut right

When they worked they were fine, but these shears did not last a month. The very small rivet was stripped.

The scissors cut fine in the middle of the blade. However, the tips of the blades don't come together right and they don't cut the hair -- they just shred it. I tried adjusting the screw and that didn't help at all.These are not great scissors if you want to cut with precision.

Disappointing. Our older cheap utility shears cut and trim better. Semi useless shears, loosened up immediately, tightened several times and they just loosened every time. Can't finely trim hair with tip of shears even when tightened although shears seem sharp.

These don't seem to be as sharp as most hair cutting shears. Cheaply made too.

These cutting shears were no good. After snipping of a couple bits of my hair, the screw that held together the two bladess came unloose and wouldn't tighten up again.

I purchased these Goody 6.5" Hair Cutting Scissors to do minor trimming on my own hair and I was disappointed to find they were dull, too dull to trim bangs. I decided to keep them and use them for household purposes but within a week the screw came out and I had to put them back together. I wouldn't recommend this product due to quality.

Don't waste your money, these do not work. The blades on these are too far apart and do not come together as they should. There is a small nut to tighten that should work to solve this problem, but the blades actually bend away from one another slightly so tightening the nut does nothing. When trying to use these, Instead of cutting the hair, they bend the hair over the blade. Seller does not accept returns.

I bought this to thin out my 2 year old's bangs. The blades are so dull, it's pulling my baby's hair and not much of anything gets cut. If it's anything thicker than a several strands, it won't work. I'm talking about fine hairs that toddlers have. I can't imagine trying to cut adult hair with this. Should have believed the bad reviews before I bought this. Wish I could return this but it's not eligible for return.

These scissors are cheap and did not work. I should have read some of the more recent reviews as I agree with those purchasers. I purchased these originally to trim my dog's fur, but after noticing that it would take about 10 attempts to get them to cut her fur, I tried it on my own hair. It wouldn't cut my hair and it actually got stuck in the uneven, jagged teeth of these scissors. I can only imagine the damage it would have caused had I continued using them. They're in the trash. Don't buy.

Can't believe how this gets this many good reviews... It TOTALLY damages your hair. I used it on Sunday night and ever since that night, 4 days in a row, every time I comb my hair, I still sees so many cut hair falling off and my hair looks like crazy. Scissor itself is well made but not for hair, probably for paper or so. Find the better scissor for your hair. This is not the one you are looking for. :(

I'm very disappointed. I was so excited to use these, however it ended up damaging my hair really bad to the point my hair started to get knots a LOT more than it usually does. The parts of my hair I used the scissors on would tangle really bad, and I noticed the ends of my hair strands were damaged. I could not smoothly comb through my hair.

These might be ok to trim a strand of 3 hairs, but beyond that they cannot handle a normal haircut. If you want a choppy haircut buy these.

These are terrible! I usually like goody products and the cutting sheers are really pretty nice. But these.... Do not waste your money... They do not cut hair, just shred and tear. (My hair is on the normal to fine side.)

I have been using another pair of thinning shears for years to trim my bangs. They always thin my bangs very well. They finally broke and I ordered these because Goody products are generally well-made.Boy, was I wrong in this case! These are so dull they would not cut my hair. The blade is very thick and extremely blunt. I couldn't manage to get them to cut even a little bit. I will be looking for better shears. I'm not positive but I believe my last pair were made by Conair and they worked like a dream.

The very first time I used these the screw fell out while cutting my sons hair. I tightened but kept coming loose. I was being cheap and bought these but I will be going with more expensive ones next time.

Broke after a couple of uses. The picture makes it look like the bolt holding them together is metal, but it's plastic. It's a shame since the blades looked fine.

Not sure what to think. Guess you get what you pay for? They seemed rather dull. I've been more impressed with Sally Hansen scissors at the same price. Only problem is they don't sell SH anymore.
