They seem to work well.

Excellent bottle caps at an affordable price. You can preserve the oxygen absorbing capacity of the caps by putting them in a ziplock bag (I use the the ziplock freezer bags which are rated for this high of temperature) before adding them to heated water for sterilization. You don't need to bring the water all the way to a boil, just look up some pasteurization temperature time charts.

Beer Bottles that ACTUALLY HOLD BEER?!?!
April 8, 2017
I've tried to duplicate the product photo featured to the left <---------, but to no avail. I keep messing up by filling these bottles with beer and drinking them or having my friends drinking them and the bottles get all misplaced...whoever made the photos is gifted. For real.
Works great, no issues, would definitely order again!
December 31, 2015
These bottles are great! I've placed four orders and they all came in on time and intact. I've read several reviews where people had issues where they had received the twist cap bottles versus the pop top or 'lipped' bottles. Yet all the orders I've placed have been the 'lipped' ones. With no manufacturing defects and several uses with no breaks out of 96 bottles, I'm pleased to say that I'd order again in a heartbeat if I needed anymore.
Strong/Durable Bottles that you will be pleased with
August 19, 2015
The bottles came well packaged and none were broken. I immediately washed them and they were strong/durable. During the conditioning process I did not have any bottles break on me. The beer was well carbonated on some of them, yet it held up. Bottling was simple and even prying off the bottle cap I have had no issues. Definitely recommend these bottles for any brewer.
Second Round
April 13, 2014
Bought this item for my son for Christmas and when I received them some were broken due to packaging. Contacted the seller who stated they would send out a new box to replace the one that was broken upon delivery. Four month later I reordered and paid again so that my son could make his home brew. The second box arrived in two days, and thankfully no broken bottles. I did pay for the second box, and will keep the odd box in case he has an overage in home-brew.
easy peasy
June 24, 2013
We collected our first 100 bottles just from store-bought beers but got sick and tired of soaking and peeling off labels, and since we give away a lot, we were running up against a bottling day and didn't have enough. Pretty much worth the price of the bottles to just have to rinse and sanitize - easy peasy.Wish there was a cheaper/better shipping option though. FedEx is overpriced and VERY unreliable, so we actually had to delay bottling a few days when there was a delay. The seller was very responsive and accommodating though - I really do blame FedEx. Just wish there was a cheaper better shipping option in case we need to order more soon.
They are bottles, empty. Make some beer
January 27, 2013
Standard beer bottles, and they are as durable as you would need. I have yet to break one when handling them with normal care, and have not had one burst during carbonation. Other than shipping issues, they stand up as well as expected.Update - After using them a few times, and purchasing more bottles from a different manufacturer, I decided to raise my review to a 5. I have yet to have any of these bottles break while capping or in storage, and I have used them 5+ times each. I had several of Brand X break the first time I tried to cap them. After a suitable ceremony over wasted beer, I vowed to never buy anything but these bottles again.

Pretty decent bottle capper, although I am migrating to swing cap bottles and kegging now. In any case, if you want one that's affordable and that works well, this is a good option.
Works very nice to put caps on bottles
March 16, 2017
Works very nice to put caps on bottles. Build quality is sturdy.Be careful when putting the cap, because misaligning it will cause it to be pressed with an offset and that will bend the cap. But when its aligned at the very center, it will work really well.
So fat so good

My husband is home brewing and he's using this to cap bottles instead of using the reusable ones that we got. He really enjoys that so far if you just follow the other reviews don't squeeze too hard it is plastic yellow snap it if you do it does not take a lot of force to use. It works really well I highly recommend it we haven't had any problems with it and it works just as it states for the bottles together with the caps on without a problem.
Great Peice of Homebrew Gear
February 17, 2016
These things work great. I have one that is still going after 4 years, bought another as back-up just in case. They are tough and a pretty simple design. You can ignore the 1-star rating on this product for two reasons. 1st, who the heck bottles in clear glass? Light is a big enemy to beer flavor, brown is the home brewing standard. 2nd, clear glass bottles tend to be thinner and prone to breakage. Manufacturers use them to keep cheap beer cheap. Most of your brown, craft beer bottles tend to be thicker and can handle the downward pressure a capper applies. While I'm on the topic, use EVEN DOWNWARD pressure on the capper or you will risk breaking the bottle. Also, inspect your bottles for cracks or defects that may make them prone to breakage. I have only found a few 26mm bottles that are difficult to cap with this: Dogfishhead being one.
Working perfectly, good for crafty projects.
February 4, 2016
I am using this as one of my tools in making some Nuka Cola caps from Fallout. I don't have the time to use caps from beverages, and I wanted the 'used/opened look, so I am taking unused caps, capping them on a single bottle, and taking them off with an opener.I just went through 140 caps, and it is working perfectly. It is a little scary at first to use, but you quickly learn the feeling of this tool. I must say, be careful, if you come across any unusual resistance pushing down, stop, the bottle or the capper may break.I am using a Magners Irish Cider bottle as a neck to use, if you are wondering. I can predict if some different bottlenecks and openings can come to a problem to some capping, if they are of unusual design, shape, or size. So, if you're careful and have the right tools, it is a perfect item to buy for any bottling needs.

Good, Quality Capper
October 17, 2014
I was having trouble with the last capper I had breaking bottle necks. It was at a point where I was breaking 4 or 5 bottles per batch. The lower grip arm on that capper was metal and I think that much pressure of metal on glass was too much. The Rigamonti has a plastic protector on the lower arm and I had no problems at all with bottling the last batch. It operates very smoothly and seems to be made well.
Best Bottle Capper
April 3, 2014
I initially had a plastic capper that broke while trying to bottle my first batch of beer. I bought this product as a replacement and have been thoroughly impressed by its durability and by the tightness of the seal this capper is able to make. Phenomenal Product!
Nice!
December 10, 2013
Bought this for my husband as his tall stand-up type was starting to break. He really loves it and said it is much easier and faster than the stand on its own type. I dont like that it puts a deep circle in the center of the beer caps when you cap your beer as I like to save the caps for projects and cannot :( and the homemade beer when given as gifts don't look quite as nice with the indented caps. Iit has only been used on about 100 bottles so far so I do not know how well it will hold up after time but I will add to this review in a few months to say how it is working then.
Sturdy construction
January 18, 2013
Metal construction is very sturdy much more so than plastic body cappers, how ever it should be noted it is meant for 26.5 mm caps and is not adjustable. Definitely a worth while upgrade from the smaller plastic body capper.

April 5, 2016
Caps does what is designed to do. Keeps the CO2 tight and leak free upon capping for prolonged period of time. Only reason i gave 4 start is that i recently read from a some article advising that O2 absorbing caps works as claimed; but, that capcity only lasts very briefly. By the time caps are sanitized (soaked in sanitize solution), O2 aborbing function is far gone when it's time for capping. So, non O2 absorbing caps are equally as good for someone considering dipping caps in a sanitzing solution prior to capping to save some $$.

and the most recent had better packing and no broken bottles
June 22, 2017
The bottles work well for homebrew. They seem to be about the same quality and thickness as any typical bottle you would get from a normal brewery. I have had two orders of these, and the most recent had better packing and no broken bottles. My first order had 3 broken when it arrived. 4 stars for the broken bottles in the first order, and that the bottles are very dusty when you open the box. Nothing a good rise off will not fix.
Bottle glass is not uniform in thickness
May 15, 2017
I have purchased 3 cases of these bottles. Until today I didn't use an accurate way of measuring the beer that I was pouring into the bottles. I just looked down the neck and poured until full. Today I used a 12 oz measuring cup. Some bottles filled fine but some would over fill by an ounce or more. This is probably because the glass is not of uniform thickness. Other than this they're just fine.
Good bottle for the price
December 29, 2016
3 were broke when they arrived. But idk if that was while packaging or during the shipping. Maybe have some bubble wrap in the box. But other than that. Great looking bottles held up while filling and capping!
Kinda lightweight bottles. But do the job.
November 25, 2016
I bought these to bottle my hard cider. I was very concerned about how light the bottles are (i.e. not thick). Concerned that under pressure they would explode. I've made 1 batch and non have (yet), cracked. I am still concerned, but for now they are working as they should.
Somewhat disappointed that a couple came broken
February 23, 2016
Somewhat disappointed that a couple came broken, hence 4 stars. The packaging was pretty loose and they could wobble around a bit in there. I highly recommend sticking with Monster Brew HBS for bottles, but instead getting the 22oz ones instead of these 12oz ones. The glass is a lot thicker and the packaging is sturdier and tighter, plus it makes sanitizing and bottling so much easier. Other than that, a glass bottle is pretty much a glass bottle.
GREAT...but wouldn't buy again.
March 23, 2015
Great bottles, work good for brewing. Functionally they are great. I have used and re-used these bottles...however I would not purchase again without a significant reduction in the price. Pacifico bottles are essentially the same and have a single label to remove + you get beer. Depending on your budget drinking and re-using may be a better option.

March 26, 2017
I find I need to give the bottle a quarter turn after capping and give it another shot to seal. Little bit of extra work, but no problems besides that.
Sturdy, but difficult at first.
June 5, 2015
This is a very sturdy product made out of heavy duty plastic that I don't think will be breaking anytime soon. The gears turn easily and it pushes caps down effortlessly. The reason I gave it four stars is because it is very hard to line the bottle caps up perfectly as you can't see the cap or bottle while it is on top. This makes it difficult to get an airtight seal every time. You just need to get a lot of practice lining it up and it should start working better. Other than that it is a very nice and sturdy product!

January 5, 2015
Received a homebrew kit for my birthday that did not include caps or a capper, among other things. In lieu of buying the kit offered by the manufacturer, I decided upon this one. I must not have read the description too closely because I thought the components were all going to be metal. The unit is mostly plastic but it is incredibly sturdy. I've been able to put my weight into this and it hasn't budged. To top it all off (no pun intended) I have yet to have a top blow off.
I love this capper!!!
July 17, 2014
I have used several types of cappers and find this one style fits my needs best. I have capped everything with this from standard beer bottles (not the twit off kind) to champagne bottles that have the traditional rounded beer bottle tops. because the jaws are spring loaded as long as you can get the neck of the bottle firm with the jaws you can cap it. It will occasionally cap a bottle so well that it wont let go right away and you need to hold the bottle and roll the capper off but I am more than happy to live with that one little problem.
Some reviewers inaccurate, product works well.
May 7, 2013
I remember reading reviews prior to ordering this product (either here or other review sites) that they felt it was flimsy and that the plastic parts might break. I would say this if valid you use this product incorrectly. It does not require tons of force. Once the cap slips closed, forcing it further wont make it any more snug. It will however break the bottle capper (I have not done this myself but can see how it could happen).I also recall reading that the magnet in the capper will leave a divot on the cap. Again, dont overwork the product and you wont have this problem.Works very well and am happy with it. I would use this product for industrial use as its not intended for that but for home bottling, its a good product.

Works fine with some caveats
August 29, 2017
The capper is made of metal and appears to be very sturdy. I bought it because the red plastic cappers that I have been using have broken in the past. During one bottling session, my only plastic capper broke part way through, leaving me with no way to finish the job. The beer store was closed, and my only capper had broken. So I always keep at least two working cappers just in case. When I saw this model made of metal I tried it to see if I could solve the problem better this way.The capper did a fine job of capping the bottles with a few caveats, which I address in this review.1. Other reviews say that the capper will stick to the caps, and I found that to be true. However, once I had lubricated the cone with some cooking oil I did not see that problem again. I lubricated the other moving parts of the capper with light machine oil as indicated in the instructions, but I put cooking oil inside the cone since I do not want to have petroleum oil directly on the bottles or caps.2. It has also been reported that because of the separate steel fingers in the cone, the teeth of the cap get caught in the slots between the fingers and not crimped properly. I also found that to be true. There are 21 teeth on the cap and 12 fingers in the cone (see photo). So I calculated the relative positions of the teeth and the slots and found that the teeth and the slots will align at the angles of 0 degrees, 120 degrees, and 240 degrees, thus trapping the teeth in the slots in those locations. But that problem is easy to get around. Each of the 12 fingers spans 30 degrees of the circle, so if you crimp twice, rotating the capper 15 degrees between the two operations, you are guaranteed to place the errant teeth in the middle of a finger for the second press. So that is how I capped my bottles.- Put on the cap.- Crimp the cap down.- Rotate the capper a small amount.- Crimp again. It takes less than a half second longer to do the second motion, and all of the caps were seated perfectly.3. Another reported issue is that it puts a dimple in the center of the cap. That is true as well. Some reviewers have stated that the purpose of the dimple is to pop out once the beer has carbonated. That is not true. My beer is now fully conditioned, and none of the dimples have popped up. See attached photo of the bottle cap that I removed from the first bottle. This is only a cosmetic issue, and is of no consequence to me because I put a sticker on each cap with the bottling date on it, so I cannot see the dimple anyway. However it might be a showstopper issue for others. The plastic cappers that I have rarely dimple the top of the cap.I use only new, standard 12 ounce beer bottles, so I cannot speak to the ability of the capper to handle all of the various rogue bottles that people use. The capper works fine on my standard bottles, and it seats the cap with a satisfying pop. There is a mechanical stop on the capper that sets the depth of the compression, so I could simply lean on the arms to pop the caps into place. There is no need to be careful of the force applied (within reaon). It takes a bit of force to put on the caps, but it is not excessive, and once you get used to it, it feels good.I have downgraded the review a bit because of the stated issues, but all in all the capper works fine if you take the time to work around the problems. The workaround is quick and easy. Lubricate the cone with cooking oil, set the cap twice rotating the capper slightly between presses. Then it works fine. And I am convinced that the capper will not break in the middle of a bottling session, which is why I bought it in the first place.Update: I took another look at that bottle cap and found that the teeth at 0 degrees, 120 degrees, and 240 degrees were, indeed, pinched in the slots of the capper as predicted. See my additional photo. The three teeth are called out with arrows. Those three teeth are sharp, and all the others are round, so they were caught between the fingers. The cap worked fine anyway, and the bottle was sealed properly. I will update again if I find any bottles with flat beer.

Packaged well. The actual box the bottle capper comes in is pretty flimsy and kinda damaged. But the bottle capper is sturdy and came intact. May 7, 2017
I got this to bottle my kombucha, and it works well. It's nice and sturdy (I'm not afraid I'm going to break it) and it seals the caps on well.It gets stuck on bigger bottles (half liters), and although it still closes the bottle well, it's really annoying.Overall, good product, I would buy it again.
Almost perfect
March 15, 2014
The Pros: It caps bottles, so at the very least it is a fully functional item. It's all metal, except for some high impact plastic (really feels more like nylon) that keeps the metal from touching the glass parts on the bottles so it's really sturdy. All of the joints are riveted so if it ever fails it should be really easy to repair. It's pretty comfortable to use.The Cons: It leaves round dents in the center of the caps, while this isn't necessarily bad, since it tells you that everything was lined up right and that it's capped properly, it's unattractive. Also I notice that the pleats on the crown caps aren't always uniform, it leaves a couple sticking up more, I suppose I could turn the bottle and re-cap, but that seems like more trouble than its worth since usually I cap many bottles at once. Some documentation would have been nice, a manual or directions, something, it's pretty easy to figure out anyway, but it's always nice to know you are doing it right.
More reliable than the red plastic one.
March 12, 2014
I gave it 4 stars because, while I have no doubt that it won't break like the "Red Baron" plastic wing capper, I think that it has a few issues. Maybe it's just breaking in right now, but it gets stuck on -every- bottle. Every. Single. One. I've been reading online and it's suggested that you lubricate the capping cone, so I'll have to try that out as well. Again, it could just be breaking in.Also, it has spring-steel fingers instead of a solid capping cone. So, it's basically a normal capping cone but with maybe 8 or so vertical slots in it. I guess it helps to remove the bottles. I don't know if it's potentially dangerous or not, but about 3 pleats of the cap wind up going in these cutouts and not getting properly crimped. So, the cap winds up being completely crimped except for about 3 creases or pleats. The seal is fine, but I don't know about whether or not that lowers the maximum pressure the cap can hold. Personally, I use the old capping cone from the Red Baron capper and run over all the bottles really quickly to get the remaining pleats.I want to add, though, that despite the little issues, the capper feels amazing to use. There's no springiness to it like the red plastic one had. You press down and feel a solid "pop" when the cap is fully seated.

March 24, 2016
The Capper worked well, however when your buying this check the lower lip on your bottle and make sure its strong and wide as when the Red baron caps it grips the lower lip and presses the top down. My bottles had a weaker secondary lip and it wouldn't work for me, it kept slipping before it had sealed. That being said I tried using it on any other bottle and it worked fine. The build feels a little cheap so if your looking for an industrial grade bottler this probably isn't it. But for the price it works, but it just didn't work for me. For reference I was trying to cap Session Lager bottles and it was really not working out. But I tried using it on Guinness, Red Stripe, and Piraat bottles and it capped very well.

Not as "universal" as hoped.
September 11, 2015
Not as "universal" as I thought it would be. Works well with most "micro-brewery" bottles with thick lips under mouth of bottle, but wouldn't work most bottles from "imports" that are locally produced by contract brewers that have thinner lips under the mount of the bottle. It's pretty easy to tell what bottles will work and what won't once you know what to look for.I see some reviewers complaining about the "dimple" the capper leaves in the middle of the cap. IMHO this is an engineering feature that helps provide a tighter seal.

Caps work very well and seal nicely. My first round of bottling I capped 59 bottles. After washing my bottles I took a look at my cap stash and thought I should count them before I get started. Only 40 caps remained but I had only used roughly 60 of them. My package was missing about 40 bottle caps.
Holes in the bag
July 28, 2014
The caps were good, but there were many holes in the bag they arrived in, so whatever "oxygen-absorbing" power they had was long gone by the time I got them.

Showed up with several broken bottles, and I had to spend a lot of extra time making sure all of the glass shards were out of the remaining bottles before using.

July 19, 2015
These are good bottles. I only have one problem. They advertise "24 12 ounce bottles". Well I think they meant to say 23. I've ordered two cases of bottles from then and both times received only 23.

doesn't securely cap bottles. they leak and the beer goes flat
DOES NOT WORK FOR ME
September 11, 2016
FOR ME, IT DOES NOT WORK ON THE CORONA 12 OZ BEER BOTTLES THAT I USE EXCLUSIVELY..... AND IT SIMPLY WILL NOT GRIP THE NECK OF THE BOTTLE WELL ENOUGH TO CRIMP THE CAP FULLY.......OK.. This is an update... I decided to try it again.. and it is the MOST FRUSTRATING DEVICE on the Planet!!! Works fine for a few bottles and then it refuses to grip the bottle and only half crimps the cap and then.. if you try again, it gets P.O. and breaks your bottles NECK! I am 70 years old so I am NOT applying "Iron Man" tactics When it "wants" to work.. a "10 year old Can do it" ...... MAYBE.... I just got a bad one...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! I would recommend that you just, "Fall of your wallet" and spend $40.00 for a Bench Type Capper. I got this P.O.J.! because my old "Benchie" just wore out after 40+ years!
after using for awhile, it has started to break the bottles as I try to cap them...
April 13, 2015
I bought this a year ago with using it for capping beer bottles for my water kefir and it worked good at first but now it is breaking the necks of some of my beer bottles when I use it! I am going to have to spend more money for a better quality capper as I should have in the beginning....
5-minutes and its broken
March 31, 2015
I received the capper and, besides the fact that it is all scratched up and looks like a used return, it broke on the very first cap. Its not broken terribly, but one of the little T-guides on the side just snapped off and flew across the room. I think it will still work, but holy hell I figured it would last more than 5minutes
Wrong Bell size
November 19, 2012
Went to use mine today and it would not crimp all the way down and could flip the tip off with a flick of my thumb. I found out the problem after borrowing a friends Red Baron. They shipped it with the wrong bell size to crimp on standard beer bottles like it should. It's a size between the 29mm European bell that I also have and the standard 26.5mm bell used commonly in home brewing. I believe it is a non standard size maybe Italian 27 or 28mm bell. Either way I had to return it because it simply would not work on the 6 styles of bottles or 3 styles of caps I used. I noticed the bell on the proper size had a bit of a yellowish tint to it while my 29mm and this odd fit bell are both brilliant silver. I checked three other cappers at my brewing class and they were all the yellowish tint as well. So if you have problems capping consider this. I have used like product on several other occasions but unfortunately this one will not work out unless you buy the proper 6.5mm bell elsewhere. Amazon was good enough to offer full refund.

Cheap

Really Really Really Cheap. Its about broke and I only used it on 100 Bottles. I could pop out all of the rivets used for the hinges and find something suitable at the hardware store but who wants to do that!

First time I have ever had a bottle break happened while using these caps. They just don't seem to fit correctly. As of now, not a single bottle has carbonated with these caps on them. Others from the same batch have, underolder caps I had laying around.

Very poor quality
July 20, 2017
These bottles, and maybe I just got a bad batch, are very brittle. During capping two of the bottles shattered. After capping, the pressure made the rest explode within one day. You can actually take one of these bottles and with a moderate amount of force, crush it in your hand. It is almost like they are made out of the glass used in movies that breaks easily. Just run commercial bottles through the dishwasher and save money.

DOES NOT WORK
February 12, 2017
I ordered in december to prepare for my microbrewery. Yesterday was bottleing day and this capper did not work at all. it slipped from the caps all the time and i had to use a hammer to close the caps of my bottles. terrible experience since i was counting on this thing for this special day.
Two batches of Kombucha tea FLAT!
June 6, 2016
I made Kombucha tea and bottled it. Two batches went flat! I would not recommend this product. I pressed the bottle cap so tight I thought I would break the glass bottles. Still no success. I don't know if it was the caps or the Capper. What a waste of $$...
Extremely disappointed. False advertisement.
May 17, 2016
The bottle capper I received is not the one pictured. The capper shown is the red baron made in Italy. I received something else that is stamped 'Made in China'. The action is gritty and sticky. I bent about 6 caps on a batch of 50 beers and even broke 1 bottle. I deal with Amazon several times in a week since I live in a rural area and have never given a negative review on something, but this is terrible.
Shattered after first user.
March 18, 2016
Shattered after first user. I was on bottle number one and the plastic shatter. The shards actually cut my hand so i'd be careful with this one. I would say that this bottle capper is for someone who just wants to cap up old bottles. But now for real brewersor anything like that.
Breaks easily, 2 failed the first time I used them
June 1, 2015
Breaks easily, 2 failed the first time I used them.I received the first one as a gift. Looked good, seemed to operate well. However, it broke the first time I used it. I blamed myself, assuming that I did not know how much force to use, and that I had placed too much pressure on the cap.I checked online and found that you only need to apply enough pressure to feel the cap "snug over" the bottle top. I knew I had put much more pressure than that, and decided to go with the same model again. The first time I used the second capper, it broke on the second bottle, right where the rivet joins the handle to the works. I know I was not applying too much pressure this time, as the cap was not sealed on the bottle at the time it failed. I was able to finish the run by holding the capper in close with my right hand while operating the other handle normally with my left, but I'm not at all satisfied with the quality of the capper. It may be related to random manufacturing defects and other people may have better results, but I'm going to move on to another model.Kudos to Amazon, however. No problem at all getting a refund squared away.
Not recommended.
April 30, 2015
This broke on its second batch of beer. The plastic split on both sides under where the metal plates rest. Unfortunately, this broke after I had only a few bottles capped out of a 5 gallon batch, so I was left with lots of exposed brew priming sugar mixed in. Not recommended.

The bottle capper never seemed to work right, on our third bottle it broke the bottle and the glass got stuck in the capper. Have used other types which worked much better.
Not versatilite for different necks.

Disappointing, about a dozen bottles into capping I reverted back to my old capper. This unit has difficulties coping with the various neck lengths of bottles.

July 5, 2016
Very disappointing capper. I ordered two of these. One for me and one for a colleague brewer. Both cappers presented problems after three or four batches. Its construction feels sturdy, but it gets shaky and soon you start losing caps and bottles of precious beer. Just a bad product that looks good.

January 5, 2016
I am returning this today. It requires excessive force to cap the bottle. I had to take the bottle outside and put protective glasses on for fear the bottleneck would shatter. It capped one bottle. The next bottle it would grip and slipped not being able to hold sufficiently well to allow the cap to be set. Maybe other will have better luck but for me I am going back to my old style capper.
