I thought it would be too tippy for my antsy 6 and 9 year old boys, but is quite sure footed and they have not had a problem. Fantastic product - well worth the investment! April 29, 2017 this thing is super sturdy. Adjustable to 3 heights as mentioned, it's very comfortable and I use it to sit on when playing guitar. It is rock solid, and comes assembled so nothing to worry about in that area. Fantastic product. STURDY WITH FIRM SEAT December 27, 2016 This stand is sturdy and firm. It feels as good or better than any full size wooden piano stool. It is easy to assemble and break down and very portable. This was included in a package deal with a Yamaha P45 piano keyboard. Five Stars October 31, 2016 Great for the price. I needed something slightly taller to sit on than a chair. Exactly what I needed. Very good bench. February 22, 2016 We bought a piano that came with this bench as part of a package deal. I figured we wouldn't get much in the way of a bench, but we wanted the piano, so held off on purchasing another bench. I am so glad we did. The seat is thick and comfortable. It's very adjustable. You do not have to put it together, it comes completely assembled. My 8 year old, who is not a tall 8, uses this seat and can reach his keyboard perfectly. We have to put something under his feet, but we were more concerned about height than feet. He is a squirmer, even when he's playing, and this doesn't topple over or become unsteady. Sturdy and looks good July 31, 2010 This is a good solid piano bench and is not cheap looking. It looks surprisingly good with my electric piano. It's sturdy enough for large adults. I studied most of the piano benches offered on Amazon and read most of the reviews before deciding on this one, and have not regretted choosing it. I just wish I could store some music inside of it. | 66% Very nice keyboard - headphone jack on piano is 1/4"; supplied headphones have 3.5mm mini plug ... they don't match January 21, 2017 Very nice. I am a learner and consequently, this review not from a experienced pianist. The keyboard feel is very nice. It has an incredible array of user functions, voices, configurations, memory, etc. I typically just play it as a piano. As a learner, I especially like the LCD display in the center which shows the Grand Staff and highlights which keys are being depressed. When headphones are plugged into the headphone jack, the speakers are disabled. One minor quibble; it came with some headphones. However, the headphone jack on the back of the piano is 1/4"; the headphones supplied have a 3.5 mm mini plug. If you want to use the headphones supplied with the piano, you will need an adapter. Loud, clear, lots of features, and outstanding value! May 3, 2016 As a value shopper, I also look for products that are a good middle of the road in quality, longevity, and features. Because let's face it, no matter how cheap something is if it falls apart or doesn't do what you want it to it really wasn't worth it.Too many times have I been taken in by price to find out I paid less...for a piece of junk. That's why I really appreciate the reviews on Amazon (and other sites). It's great to have a good cross-section of thoughts and opinions. Unfortunately we still have to filter the reviews based on our preferences and even the paid reviews, but if something is not 4 stars these days, I typically will not even give it the time of day. With the Yamaha TPG-235 keyboard I am happy to say that the reviews were very helpful in making this purchase. TONS of people have purchased and reviewed this item and about 9 out of 10 people have given it either 4 or 5 stars. That's impressive.I have discovered a way to keep prices down and still get the product that I want - SHOP THE REFURBISHED AND USED SECTION OF AMAZON! Amazon Warehouse items are usually open box or returned and I have yet to receive something from there that didn't still look brand new. Prices are typically around 15 - 25% off of the new price.ON TO THE KEYBOARD....ratings are on a scale of 1-101. AESTHETICS ** 8 ** The Yamaha TPG-235 doesn't look so much like a toy that you will not take it seriously though it is less appealing than some brands. We have previously owned a Williams piano and it was more sleek and looked more professional. BUT the Williams piano also felt like it was made out of concrete. It was SO heavy. The YPG-235 is light as a feather AND with 12 less keys than the typical 88-key keyboard, it's shorter as well. Which means if space is an issue (which it is for us) then you will like the shorter design. And you will VERY likely NOT miss the extra keys.2. SOUND ** 9 ** Clearly (pun intended) this is an important feature of this item. If an instrument doesn't sound great it will be a disappointment...at least eventually it will. Going from a Williams keyboard to this one seemed like a downgrade - but it wasn't. It DOES sound less like a grand piano but it makes up for it with it's full sounding speakers and TONS of voices (361 to be exact). There's give and take (especially when you are on a budget) but after owning this now for a few months I have to say that I am completely satisfied with the grand piano sound. My daughter plays the keyboard and I play guitar and they sound fantastic together. We both play somewhere in between the competent to proficient skill levels. I play a Taylor guitar so I DO understand quality when I see/hear it.3. QUALITY ** 9 ** I would say that the build quality is perfectly acceptable. The keys feel a little cheap and they are fairly noisy when the sound is down low or someone is playing using headphones. But when the volume is set to a normal playing level the key noise is completely drowned out. Speaker quality is superb and that is a HUGE plus with this item. The item is light but it doesn't feel so light that you feel that you are compromising quality at the same time.4. FEATURES ** 9 ** The 361 voices are a lot of fun to play with. That alone will keep you entertained with this keyboard for the first week or 2. But it's all about the piano voice for what we play - which is worship and praise music to the Lord. My daughter plays some classical music as well and in reality 99.9% of the time the grand piano voice will be used. One feature that's nice is that you can hit a single button to return you to the default voice which is grand piano. It also allows you to transpose the keyboard to different intervals/keys. This is similar to putting a capo on a guitar. Yeah, it may seem like cheating, but it's nice when you are still learning. It does NOT come with a power cord unless you buy the "Standard Pack" (which was the same price when bought open box from Amazon Warehouse). So be prepared to buy one if you get the keyboard only. Also, no pedal but Amazon has some great pedals for a decent price. We have had the M-Audio SP-2 Universal Sustain Pedal purchased from Amazon for about 2 years and it's holding up wonderfully. The "Standard Pack" also comes with a stand which is probably adequate to hold this keyboard but we already had a more heavy duty one holding up our old Williams keyboard so we just used it.5. VALUE ** 10 ** After researching and studying and reading review after review as well as comparing pricing for anything even close to price of this one, I have to say, you will not find a better keyboard than this one for $600 or less (the Yamaha YGP-535 is just under $600 and is essentially the same product with 12 more keys and a built in base and pedals and POSSIBLY better speakers). So if you are an extremely advanced player then perhaps look elsewhere but I do not consider this to be ONLY a beginner keyboard. Sure it's great for beginners too, but I think this instrument will take you well into the pre-advanced stages as well.6. OVERALL ** 9 ** Of course there is room for improvement for a $250 instrument but unless you are ready to jump up to $600 - $1000 your search is over.Hope this helps someone out there and feel free to ask any specific questions you may have!Col. 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Satisfied October 8, 2015 Sound quality is amazing and beautiful. Sustain pedal is impressive. key resistance is great, feels like a real stringed piano. Love it A Great Piano. July 15, 2015 This is a fantastic instrument! Am very excited to learn all the different functions that you are able to do. The Demo is amazing. If I can make music only 25% as nice as the demo, it will be great! Bought some blank music sheet paper to be able to right down all the different instruments notes. My 80 Mother has again realized how much she loves to play. She broke right out with her signature moves and was not bothered that it is only 8 keys short of a full size piano. It is also light enough to carry. Awesome Piano March 17, 2014 The piano is awesome, so much better than we thought it would be. My son practiced all weekend. The directions for the stand were very confusing and I ended up taking it apart and putting it back together about 3 times. Finally figured it out. If they would have had bigger pictures on the instructions or zoom in pictures to show which way it went, it would have saved a LOT of time. The headphones fell apart the minute we took them out of the package. The foam covering the headphones just disintegrated. We tried them anyway without the foam and they didn't even work at all. (Our own headphones worked fine plugged into the piano). As these were cheap headphones anyway and we were totally satisfied with the rest of this package, I just threw the headphones away. This was a very great deal. Great January 30, 2014 I have not explored nearly all of what this keyboard is capable of, but I am very happy so far. There are many sounds of high quality, and I am having a great deal of fun exploring this instrument. The con for me: I would prefer they put middle C right in the middle so we would get a low C and D instead of a low E. You can mess with settings to get lower notes, but for most of my playing and the playing I am familiar with, the low notes are more useful than the really high squeaky notes. My suggestion would be to lower the range of this keyboard 2 whole steps and then it would be complete for me. I probably will get one with a more full range eventually. | 76% There are no reviews yet | 73% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 19% Good portable piano seat. June 15, 2017 Solid seat. Just make sure the knob is tightened well. May need to check once in awhile but the seat will not collapse unless the main screw is completely removed. Good cushioning for comfort. Not the best piano seat i ever sat on but will work May 15, 2017 Not the best piano seat i ever sat on for sure but as a keyboard seat for less than an hour practise once in a while it does the job.It was easy to mount, just unfold and screw and it pretty light and portable. The comfort is not the best of all and to be honest more than an hour seating on this would seem challenging to me but as a simple solution it works. It does the job and matches the stand and black keyboard. April 16, 2017 It does the job and is comfortable. I prefer a good wooden piano bench that opens so I can store my piano books but this does the job and is light enough and comfortable Functional but hard. April 8, 2017 This bench is functional, but uncomfortable. I bought it because it was the cheapest one, and you get what you pay for. I use it exclusively in my home studio, so I don't spend too much time on it for long stretches, so it's a great fit for me. If you like a softer cushion, spend the extra money... I am not used to sitting without a back but it is good. The cushion isn't the greatest but for a ... September 6, 2016 The bench works well, I am not used to sitting without a back but it is good. The cushion isn't the greatest but for a half hour or hour it works well, seems solid and I would recommend it to anyone, I think it would hold a large person, I am over 200 pounds and it doesn't seem to mind... Very good quality. Comfy cushion October 2, 2014 Very good quality.Comfy cushion, nice leather, stable and sturdy.I'm 250 lb and it stands like a rock under me.Two cons. Both minor, don't affect the quality of the chair when it's assembled.1. The height: I'd want to be able to put it a bit lower. Will have to drill another hole myself.2. The bolt. You have to unscrew the bolt completely and try not to loose the washers, and assembly it back. It could be done more simply. | 15% Good keyboard for the price October 7, 2017 Great keyboard, nice price. I played piano years ago and recently started up again. I don't have the room nor am I willing to spend the money for a real piano, so this keyboard fit my needs (and beyond) nicely. I still haven't used all of the many features. Sometimes it sounds a little soft to me but that could be user error, I still haven't figured that one out. I don't want to blast anyone out of the house, but I would like it to be at a normal volume. I can hook it up to a small external speaker, so that solves my issue for now. Great product for beginning users September 28, 2015 Yamaha 76-Key Portable Grand PianoIf you are a veteran at playing the keyboard or piano you may want to look into other options. However, if you are on a tight budget and are looking to start playing as a hobby than you found your product. When shopping for a keyboard as a beginner, one tends to look at price as the most important factor. As a beginner you aren't looking to spend a lot of money on something you don't know if you will be interested in for long or even be good at. For this reason this keyboard is by far the best choice you could make. The Yamaha YPG-235 provides quality at an affordable rate. There are other factors you consider when buying items to begin a hobby though. While you are buying a cheaper item, you don't want to see the price reflected in the merchandise. You want to look at your keyboard like it cost you a couple thousand dollars, not a couple hundred dollars. This item hits on quality really well. While the item is not perfect, it is more than to be expected for the price. It has many different tones and instrumental sounds that allows you to explorer your creativity. You are also able to hook this keyboard up to your computer to record what you play in order to track your progress or even make your own music. The volume is spectacular, the stand is stable, and the headphones in this bundle are a really nice touch in case you are trying to be courteous to others around you or just focus better that way. The stand has three levels it can be set at allowing users to be of a variety of builds. This product should be recommended to all beginners of any age. If you want to see your child really cling to a hobby, this keyboard could help. The only reason for the lack of the fifth star is because sometimes you have to press the keys really hard and it can alter what you are used to if you have played other pianos or keyboards. If there was an option for 4.5 stars I would have given it because of all of the other positive attractions to this keyboard bundle. This is an item that has and will continue to bring families together. Good for Intermediate Players!!! January 21, 2015 Bought this for my 16 y.o. daughter for Christmas. It was easy to put together and plays well. As some other reviewers have stated, neither the stand nor the headphones are worth putting in the same package as the keyboard, but she uses her own choice headphones, so on that note, we're still fine with the total package. She's been using the keyboard for about a month, and so far, we've had no issues. I would recommend this electronic keyboard for an intermediate learner. It's probably good for beginners too, but if you're a professional keyboardist, go for the Casio Privia models, if you can afford it. No complaints on this model. Good quality for the price April 22, 2014 The keys have a good weight to them. There's a lot of different voices to choose from and they all sound very realistic. I purchased this to use for performing at different church events. I sometimes look at chords on my phone while playing and I discovered that it causes some feedback from the left speaker anytime my phone is near it. Strange, but not really a problem.I gave it four stars instead of five due to the sound of the piano. Although it does sound good, I know there are so many other better sounding pianos out there, so it's gets a four for the timbre of the instrument. Overall it was well worth purchasing. More than sufficient for beginners April 1, 2014 I've been using this keyboard to learn how to play piano (started from scratch). It's been 4-5 months now.I find it most adequate for my utmost beginner level. The 76 touch sensitive keys are good enough and plentiful. The sound is very good and can reach quite a high volume.Only downside is that I have the vague sense that some keys are louder than others. This is not THAT annoying for learning purposes.I suppose that in a year or so, when / if I will have become more proficient, I'll switch to a 88 key yamahaThe provided headphones are good enough. They have not broken down. Great for the cost. December 6, 2013 Sounds great, sounds like a keyboard and not a piano to me. The headphone jack is located in the back. I wish it were located somewhere else for easier access. The screen is small and hard to see but it shows you what key you are pressing and where the note sits on a sheet of music, I thought that was cool. The keys are touch sensitive so depending on how hard or soft you hit the key, the volume adjusts. The weighted keys feel spring loaded, but the tension is varied depending on how high or low you go when pressing the keys to simulate a real piano. It also comes with a music stand, so when you're playing, you have a place to set your sheet music. The stand itself, it does seem a little wobbly, maybe it's my carpet. I'm not to familiar with stands to have much of a reference. But I do know what every time I want to adjust the height, I have to fully remove the keyboard and hope the spring loaded knob will work as it should. The knob just holds a pin in place and it wasn't very easy to handle.I received my shipment on time. The box was in excellent condition. The keyboard had 1 scuff mark but it came off.The stand was un harmed. The headphones on the other hand were completely shattered. I opened the plastic bag and tiny little plastic pieces of shrapnel showered to the floor. The right ear piece was destroyed and I have no idea why.Edit: I had a hard time finding customer support to talk about compensation for the broken headphones. But, when I did finally find the online chat feature, a representative was very helpful and addressed my concern. I am very pleased with the whole experience. I was a bit bummed out yesterday but today I'm happy again. Good customer support can fix so much and that's what I got. | 11% There are no reviews yet | 14% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% I recommend that you look for a wider bench for small ... September 21, 2017 I got this for my 5 and 7 year old. It is adjustable but the drawback is at the highest setting this bench has the tendency to tip. My 5 year old fell off it and so did her friend. I didn't keep this in mind while shopping. I recommend that you look for a wider bench for small kids or if you need it for an adult that cannot balance well. Good enough for the price, but a little misleading to the customer. March 5, 2016 The Product is good enough, and I thought it was worth the price. However, other comments were correct and this is in no way an official Yamaha product which is false advertising. I don't know why their not just honest and say what it is, because for the price I think it's perfectly acceptable it's not from a big brand. I think that would be better than misleading customers and wouldn't lead to negative reviews. I'm sure this is a nice bench for a smaller person July 10, 2014 I bought this to use with my Yamaha DGX 650B. When it arrived, I was surprised at how small it is. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions rather than the pictures. One reviewer states it might hold 200 lb. That would be the upper limit by my guess. This bench is more suitable for a child or a small-built adult. I'm 6'4" and 300lb. I was afraid to sit on it and returned it. I'm sure this is a nice bench for a smaller person. Reasonably well made, but may not be compatible with some keyboard stands May 28, 2014 The bench seems sturdy and well-made. But be careful if you intend to use it with a keyboard on a keyboard stand like the one I purchased, the Yamaha PKBX2. At the stand's lowest setting, my Yamaha CP40 piano keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the ground, not necessarily a big deal. The PKBB1 keyboard bench has a maximum height of 20 1/2 inches. For most people, this bench height is fine if your keyboard is 28 inches from the floor, but it's too low if, as in this case, the keyboard is 30 1/2 inches from the floor. I had to choose between returning the stand or returning the bench, so I'm returning the bench and getting a taller one. The PKBX2 keyboard stand should probably not be sold as a bundle with this bench. Looks sturdy enough, but look carefully... February 8, 2014 I purchased this item a few days ago and received it promptly. However, when I went to remove the plastics covering the leg braces, I discovered rusted screws. Needless to say, I am going to be returning this for a replacement. The bench does look and feel sturdy and the padding feels very adequate and comfortable for prolonged sitting. On this particular order, I can't trust the integrity of the bench when the screws holding everything together have rust all over them. For now, I'm giving 3 stars and will update if the replacement arrives in better condition. Sturdy, comfortable, but not w/o problems June 3, 2013 I purchased the Yamaha BB1 bench to use with my Yamaha DGX530 keyboard. While an OK value for a relatively low price, the Yamaha bench is solid but plain-looking. It has hollow metal legs, and thin padding with a soft vinyl covering that looks like it could tear or puncture easily, so maybe not a good choice if you have children that might climb on it. It came packaged in a plastic bag within a box, with no real protective padding of any kind, just a couple of pieces of foam to keep the legs from moving around and getting scratched. That didn't work! Before I opened the box I could hear the legs rattling around in there. When I opened it and looked it over I saw that the legs all had small scratches on them, and the vinyl top had a 1/2" cut in it. I find that baffling, because there was no damage at all to the box that I could see, and I did not use a blade to open it. Even if I had, the cut was off to the side and at an angle! Very strange! This would have had to be packaged this way, unless of course it was returned damaged and then resold. (I noticed another review where the reviewer found a tear also, but went ahead and taped it.)Bottom line, after using it for 2 days, I found it reasonably comfortable and sturdy, but a bit low for me. If you can get an undamaged one, it is a plain, sturdy bench for reasonable price and I think you will be happy with it.Rather than return it for a replacement, I decided to return it and try an adjustable bench.I purchased the Ebony Adjustable Artist Piano Bench through Amazon and CPS Imports. It was almost double the cost, but worth every penny and more. Read my review of that bench for more info.NOTE: I may have given the Yamaha bench 4 stars if I had not been able to compare it with the Ebony bench. I did not take the damage into consideration when deciding on the 3 star rating. | 6% Note, note, note, click, note, note note....... August 18, 2017 I had always been very pleased with the Yamaha keyboards I had used during my forty-year music teaching career. The keyboard was well packaged and the stand was easy to assemble. When I sat down to play, I was surprised that there was a decided 'click' on the action of one note (c#2). This will not be a major problem for me, as I will not be playing it in public. I purchased it so I would have a practice instrument in my apartment for my church performances. I just didn't feel like messing with a return for one note. But I was surprised. I suppose whatever is supposed to cushion the key action came unglued or whatever. not cool June 9, 2017 but for the money we spent this did not come with adapter of any sorts....i had to buy that extra.....not cool man What, no power? December 21, 2015 Ack! Heads up if you're buying this for a holiday gift - they ship directly in it's box, with pics of the item all over it. Had my kid seen this, it would have ruined their Christmas present surprise. Box also was very shoddily taped, open half way on top - so hopefully everything is intact. So it seems to work fine ... or at least it would if it came with a POWER CORD. If you don't include a cheap power cord at least TELL us! Nothing like getting a gift for Christmas that you can't play. Great keyboard, useless accessories. July 2, 2015 Just got this as a gift for my daughter the keyboard seems great and just as described. However, the stand is pretty useless. it's flimsy and doesn't attach to the keyboard. The headphones are low quality, won't stay adjusted properly and probably won't last long.Don't buy the packaged version just get the keyboard and find better quality accessories. Fantastic sound quality for the price but one key did not work May 9, 2014 I bought this for my 10 year daughter who just started taking piano lessons. I also started playing recently and now seem to be on it more than my daughter. The sound quality is excellent. It's much richer and sounds more like a grand piano compared to the Casio LK-165 and Casio WK-225. But I gave it three stars because one of the keys did not work; no sound was produced when it was depressed. Also, the feel of the keys are very soft; like an organ. Since my daughter's piano instructor recommended weighted keys, we returned this model and upgraded to the Yamaha P-35B digital piano. It's just about double in price compared to the Yamaha YPG-235, but it may be worth it if you are searching for the "feel" and "sound" of an acoustic piano. Check all the keys November 30, 2012 I had eagerly awaited the arrival of my YPG-235 keyboard with great expectations. Unfortunately, after setting it up, I found that a bank of keys, roughly one octave, were not tuned correctly to a "piano" - rather, they rang like a bell and made me jump out of my seat when I played them. The notes were so irritatingly piercing that I couldn't bear it. In addition, the C above middle C sounded dull. All the other keys were fine and when played gave a very rich tone. I know this was probably just a lemon, but rather than chancing a replacement keyboard also having something wrong with it, I decided just to return this one for a refund. I live in Hawaii and the shipping was outrageous, but Amazon refunded me fully, including the shipping! So while I wasn't pleased getting a lemon, I'm very pleased with Amazon's customer service. | 8% There are no reviews yet | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% It's ok July 13, 2017 I gave it two stars because it's not very comfortable and I would like it to go just a little lower. I'm 5'4" and I have a hard time touching the ground. I have to hang off the front. Not level. Off by 1" or more. Wobbles. I returned it. November 23, 2016 Completely off-level--by more than 1". Wobbles way too much to be of any use, even for a child. I returned it. Otherwise quality is fine--in fact this is indistinguishable from other such items, so much so that I expect we see many identical products under different brand names. So you might have better luck with yours. Unbalanced and Wobbly. Not a Yamaha Product At All June 23, 2016 • The bench is wobbly no matter what surface I put it on (it is not the floor)• Adjusting the height has no effect on the unbalanced design and the wobble• The product is NOT made by Yamaha. It is not even made for Yamaha. It is "Distributed by Yamaha Corporation of America"• The product is imported by The Music People Inc of Berlin, CTPositives:• Easy to assembleYou learn to manage the wobble, and the bench does work. However, it is never as stable as you wish.As for the bait and switch......it is as if Rolex would distribute a cheap watch they don't make because they have a good distribution network, and the shops advertising the cheap watch online tell you it is a Rolex when it is not. Not Recommended for Travel May 15, 2016 Do not get this bench if you are planning to travel with it. To adjust the height will take a number of steps of unscrewing the lock from the cross (x). Also, to collapse this bench into flat position you have to screw/unscrew at a couple of places. Not that big a deal for some people, but I was expecting an easy 2 second process (similar to adjusting height on typical keyboard stands) which this bench does not have.If you plan to have it sitting in just one place then this should be ok. Also, the seat isn't that comfortable. Incorrect Measurements January 29, 2016 The stool is a good quality and looks nice. I'm thoroughly disappointed, however. I bought this because of the adjustable height. I need a 17 or 17 1/2 inch stool for my nine-year-old cello-playing daughter. At the lowest setting, it measures 19 inches from the seat to the floor. It's not worth sending it back, but now I'm stuck with a stool that's worthless to me. Shennanigans! NOT a Yamaha product! November 28, 2015 Shenannigans!! This is NOT a Yamaha product as the listing would lead you to believe. It's a generic off-brand bench. Buyer beware. It's relatively cheap and I need it right away, so I'm not going to bother to return it. But the listing needs to be amended to reflect the truth. If you are buying this expecting traditional Yamaha professional quality, look elsewhere. | 5% Unexpected disappointment. June 14, 2017 Very disappointed after a few weeks. Sounded good at first, but then I compared side by side with my Casio(wk3300). The sounds are much better on the Casio which really surprised me. Planning to sell the Yamaha. ... it to the external amplifier the sound quality was poor (kind of muddy) March 3, 2017 I returned it for the sound delivered by the built-in speakers was not loud enough but if I connected it to the external amplifier the sound quality was poor (kind of muddy). Product came damaged - more than described condition for warehouse deal April 9, 2016 Great sound, but it came severely damaged on the corner, maybe because it was a warehouse deal. It was damaged too much. I decided to keep it because it works okay. UNHAPPY February 12, 2016 I like the keyboard, but the soft touch is difficult for me, as I have early onset Rheumatoid Arthritis. You really have to bang down the keys. I wish there was a way to turn down the sensitivity. The headphones are cheap.Main problem:The main reason that I bought this product is because it came with a stand. Stand was missing all EIGHT screws that it needs to be put together. Now, I have nowhere to put the keyboard because the stand is worthless. I am VERY unhappy. The boxes were all sealed. I had a sealed plastic bag with one bolt and an allen wrench...no screws. wtf?I believe I purchased this as a lightening deal and I'm starting to wonder about Prime and if it is really worth it If I am going to be sent defective products. I NEEDED a stand and that is why I bought this package.Keyboard is okay, much cooler than the one I am replacing, headphones are cheap, stand is worthless because it can't be put together. Save some money and don't buy the packaged set. returned, keys are not weighted April 13, 2014 definitely a confusing buying/searching experience for keyboards with weighted keys. this looked like it was going to be one, but i was very disappointed and returned it. Disappointing - not comparable to a real piano at all December 8, 2013 I was incredibly disappointed. We shopped for months looking for just the right electronic keyboard with "weighted" keys under $500. We bought it and within a month, the display quit working and just shows bright blue. You can't read the words to make the many selections available with this piano. Luckily, my children remembered the "code" for regular piano play, so they can use it for that. Tried to return it but we were just outside the warranty period and it wasn't returnable. BEWARE the "graded-action" keys are not "weighted" keys and it does click when you play. Also, it is not comparable to a regular piano at all. My daughter needs a new one already so she can practice on a "real" piano for performances. | 2% There are no reviews yet | 3% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 4% Awful bench - returned September 29, 2017 I used this bench for a few days, shipped it back and ordered the one linked below. The bench was overall just too small and not firm enough which made my back and shoulders ache after sitting there for any length of time. Really love the new one. Yes, it's more expensive but totally worth paying extra. I sat and played for over 2 hours one night this week with no problems at all.On Stage KT7800 Plus Padded Keyboard Bench Not well made. March 18, 2017 The legs didn't fit into the grooves under the seat. I would have returned it but my son jerry-rigged it. Dangerously-poor construction December 19, 2016 Poorly engineered; loose fittings and moorings for legs-to-bench attachments. Constantly had to tighten bolts and screws for legs which ultimately tore away from wood bench in less than a month. Dangerous seating for player. This is not a Yamaha bench November 19, 2015 This is not a Yamaha bench. It's imported by a company in CT from China, and the distributed by Yamaha. Yamaha does not produce this bench. Like L. Jarlot September 24, 2015 Like L. Jarlot, I recieved a generic brand bench. I also ordered the Yamaha PKBS1 Single Braced Adjustable X-Style Keyboard Stand, and it was a generic brand as well. There are many other brands out there that cost the same, or LESS than the "YAMAHA" brand, but I spent the extra money because I wanted and trust the YAMAHA brand name. I am not going to return the products because they are not bad quality. I am just dissapointed that they are being advertised as "YAMAHA" products Yamaha sells generic July 29, 2015 The bench is advertised as a Yamaha bench, but delivered a china made and distributed by Yamaha. This is a thick advertise. In my understand is a cheating. | 8% I got this without the power cords! Not mention ... December 26, 2015 I got this without the power cords! Not mention that I need to It order the power cord separately! Warning. No power adapter October 15, 2015 I haven't tried it because it didn't come with a power adapter! That extremely annoying and cheap. We purchased separated the cord recommended and it does not plug well in it February 21, 2015 This keyboard does not bring plug with it. We purchased separated the cord recommended and it does not plug well in it, produces a false contact. The hole in the keyboad is too short and cords do not go well on the whole. it has been impossible to play since we purchased it.I encourage you to not buy any keyboard/ electric piano on internet. The plugin problem made us impossible to play from day 1.Total waste of money, stay away. I am not a pro musician just like to beat on the keys when I need to ... August 28, 2014 Got this back in January. Its suited my pitiful needs well. I am not a pro musician just like to beat on the keys when I need to recharge my mood. This unit served me well in that regard. I had no issues with sound, tone, timber or even the cheap plastic feel of it. It does but who cares. With 88 keys I could stretch out my left hand. Couldn't with my very old dgx235. Which is exactly why I bought another yamaha. I have beat the crap out of the 235 for 6 or 7 years... it's still working! Have to play it now in fact. So I got this... It was ok not great but high on the Ok side though. Until a month ago, when it just stopped working. Pay more to fix something a couple months old is just insane. Yamaha dropped the ball with this model and from what I am reading... they know and don't give a damn. The "Grand Piano" voice lets this keyboard down August 25, 2013 Update: This part of the review comes weeks after the latter text. I now give the Yamaha piano 5 stars. If you hit the function button and scroll to the "Master EQ" and then choose option 3 "Headphones" the sound no longer sounds so soft or "muffled" (as I have it below). The sound is clear and louder. The keyboard is a good keyboard, with more than 1 grand piano voice, and many songs, features that let you record multiple tracks, and learn modes. The only problem is -- none of it is intuitive. So please read the manual thoroughly. You are getting a good keyboard at a good price with the Yamaha.----Older review:This keyboard gets everything done right, basically, except for the main voice - which is the grand piano. The grand piano is voice #1 and there's even a quick switch button that looks like a grand piano on the keyboard; you press that button to jump back to voice 1. But why it's lacking is its sound clarity. The mechanics and 76 keys that this Yamaha gives is good for beginners and can emulate a real piano well enough, but the problem with the sound of the main "grand piano" is that it's too muffled. Every other voice sounds clear and loud, but then you switch to the grand piano and it would seem like you've got the soft, muted, "una corda" pedal going on a real piano. The sound is lacking. It makes you feel like you are half-breathing, and in the long run you'll want to purchase a different keyboard.I've owned this keyboard for 2 years now and have felt this way about it since the first week I've owned it. It's made me want to buy another, better piano. Immediately that tells me -and should tell you- that the purchase was a bad one.I'd recommend searching for other keyboards in the price range. If there's a way to improve the sound of this keyboard, please comment here. Deceived! January 1, 2013 I ordered this product believing it came with the survival kit pictured very prominently in thier ad. However the keyboard arrived without the kit. This picture was obviously inserted to deceive people into buying thier product. I would never have ordered this if the items did not come together, since other companies were also offering their keyboards with a survival kit.Upon further investigation I found other customers complaining about the same thing. Why would AMAZON allow them to continue selling if they are not providing the products shown in thier image? Buying in cyberspace is done in good faith which is why we pay up front before even seeing the actual product. This is very poor on Amazons part. :( | 3% There are no reviews yet | 4% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
