Fit really isn't an issue. This product is awesome! I've needed a long-handled shoe horn for some time, and I am thrilled with this one! It collapses to fit easily in the drawer of my living room table, but extends beautifully and firmly to help me slip on my shoes! Ideal for my non-bendy, artificial knees which don't let me use a conventional shoe horn. This is exactly the product I've been needing and for which I've been searching in stores. So glad to find it here on Amazon. I can't reach my shoes due to double knee replacements. This has solved a huge problem for me. It is sturdy and a high quality product. It arrived on time, without excess packaging. Perfect!!
Fast, Easy, Comfortably to use
March 24, 2017
I have 3 of these, one in my motorhome, one in my bedroom, and the other at the door that goes to my garage. I love it because I have one handy where I most need it to put on my shoes. No more fighting or struggling to put on my shoes. It collapses to store easily, yet lengthens to put shoes on fast, easy, and comfortably. I would highly recommend this shoe horn to anyone.
Very helpful

I purchased this to help put on shoes after I had spine surgery. Worked pretty well.If I could redesign it, I'd make it a few inches longer, make the spring slightly stiffer, and maybe put an arch or loop in it to pick it up with a dressing stick. I tended to drop it a lot.

Since I hurt my back putting on my shoes, particularly snugger slip-on styles, was a big production until I got this long handled shoe horn. It was especially hard to get on my shoes in the morning when I'm still stiff yet getting on the treadmill is the best way to loosen up. The extending handle lets you get the right length & the metal foot horn & the spring allow an easy smooth movement to slide in my foot. They provide an excellent set of directions to make sure you use it in the best way. Now I'm not dragging my feet so much about getting on the treadmill. This is a great product if you have problems bending.
A smooth glide for my feet
July 24, 2016
I purchased this shoe horn because I have recently had lower spine surgery. The surgery has imposed certain limitations on my movements as I face a lengthy recovery. Putting on my shoes can be difficult and even painful. My Physical Therapist suggested a long shoe horn as an assistive device. I shopped a number of them on Amazon and Pro Comfort looked to be the most adjustable and durable. It also seemed to be generally favored by people who have bought and used it.Delivery was preceded by an introduction email by the maker, Living Concept. It was delivered quickly and included some brief helpful instructions on how to use it. The instructions are helpful because it works a little differently from a rigid shoehorn. The heel spoon is hinged by a strong spring where it connects to the shaft. This allows you to keep the shaft at whatever angle works best for you while the spoon is free to flex and guide your foot into your shoe. Living Concept also followed up with a Customer Service email soliciting feedback. I am pleased to have purchased this item. It is just the ticket for making it easier to get my shoes on.
Solidly built telescopic shoe horn.
June 23, 2015
Solidly built telescopic shoe horn. I am usually in a rush so I have a bad habit of not untying my shoes when I take them off and then forcing my foot back into the tied shoe when I am going back out. This hurried habit creates wear and tear on the back part of my shoes and they usually end up looking like the back ends were chewed on by a large mastiff. This shoe horn alleviates the problem. I still do not have to untie my shoes because this sturdily built shoe horn allows me to slip them back on without damaging the backs. I also appreciate the extra long handle which allows me to stand straight when I put my shoes on. Have had for almost 3 months and overall I highly recommend this product to those who are in the market for a shoe horn.

This is the only shoehorn I'll ever need for the rest of my life, so no resells lol.
February 9, 2016
This is not your grandfather's shoehorn. Recently I've noticed I've been destroying the back of my dress shoes by trying to squeeze into them. I've not used a shoehorn in decades and decided to purchase one. This shoehorn is made out of solid piece of metal. I'm a pretty big guy and try my best with both hands to see if I could bend it a little bit. I could not! In my opinion the shoehorn is oversize which works well for me. The old smaller shoehorn's work but over time they would give way and often break. There's no way this one is getting way in going to break any time. In fact I'm confident I can give this shoehorn to my son as an heirloom. I feel sorry for the company because I really believe this is the only shoehorn i'll ever need for the rest of my life, so no resells lol. This shoehorn exceeded my expectations excellent product/
Superior product!
October 12, 2015
I primarily use a shoe horn to assist with putting on sports/running shoes that have a silicone heal insert. I use the shoe horn at the back of the heel as well as sliding around the side of the heel to keep the insert flat and a smooth fit.
I have used plastic shoe horns which end up sticking to the insert. Or the shoe horn breaks as I try to slide it around the heel. Small metal ones are ok but don't seem to slide around the heel well or to be comfortable to handle. This shoe horn really is great. It slides between my heel and back of shoe and around the heel between insert and shoe with ease. The shoe horn is comfortable to grip with its design and extra length. It also has a bit of weight to it which also adds to the comfort and security of wielding for multiple positions at the heel.
I recommend this product and will definitely purchase another if/when needed (which may be quite awhile as this shoe horn seems sturdy for the ages!)
Perfect Shoe Horn
February 19, 2015
Never gave any thought about whether I'd ever find myself writing a review about a shoe horn, a metal shoe horn. But I got this thing and not only is it a substantial shoe accessory, really heavy duty, but when you hold it in your hand you notice that it is perfectly balanced and pretty much a work of art. It's beautiful. I don't want to hide it in a drawer. Some possessions, big and small, just become your favorites. This was instant. I know....
If it looks like a shoe horn and acts like a shoe horn, it must be a shoe horn!
December 12, 2014
If it looks like a shoe horn and acts like a shoe horn, it must be a shoe horn! That's exactly what this is. There are no surprises.
It's exactly what I was looking for to help me get shoes onto my toddler's feet without having to twist their ankles this way and that and ultimately end up squishing the back of the shoe in along with their bunched up sock.
It was a reasonable price and is going to last a long time.

The only problem I have is getting the manipulation down pat for me and getting it situated in my shoe, but that is a work in process and it is coming along.
overall it's a good tool for helping with putting shoes on
September 6, 2017
Works well once you get the hang of it......the secret seems to be to insert it, then, pulling it out slowly as your foot pushes forward into shoe.... Seems a little 'too' flexible, but, overall it's a good tool for helping with putting shoes on!
Works well
May 13, 2017
I have had both hips and both knees replaced... I feel great, but, I still have some stiffness and inability to bend due to arthritis in other parts of my body( shoulders and back). I found this shoe horn helps with getting on my boots and other shoes that it is difficult to get my heal into the shoe. I like that it bends and is flexible. I feel this was a good purchase.
A real man's tool
April 17, 2017
It's pretty neat! I wish it would lock in place so when I try to pull it out of the shoe it would not extend all the way out, Thats no big thing though.
Excellent product - just follow the instructions
October 3, 2016
I believe that reading the instructions helps. They make it very clear how to use this in both an email they sent me and in a printed version that came with the shoe horn. I do think that the picture itself is somewhat misleading in that the "blade" part and the handle are actually pretty narrow and the picture somehow makes it look bigger. I bought this because I have struggled with a new pair of loafers that would take several tries to slip on even when I wore extra thin socks, and this works like a charm. In fact, the first time I used it, I not only got my foot in the loafer but also the cuffed pants leg!I don't have any disablitlies, but I have been searching for a shoe horn that I can use while standing up and this is perfect.
My new toy!

I have a broken foot, and am also planning to have lower-backsurgery in a few months. So I'm preparing for when I have todeal with foot and back issues at the same time.I figured that I will need a shoe-horn and checked out whatAmazon had to offer. This one seemed to have the bestfeatures, and it is the longest, so I decided that even thoughit cost a bit more I would give it a try.At first I had a bit of trouble with it: I didn't realize thatalthough it slid up and down, unless you clicked into theunseen notches it would slip and slide. Once I figured thatout theproblem was solved. (It's easy to feel the notchesas you slide the shoe-horn up and down.)The other problem was that unless both my room lightand my glasses were on, I couldn't tell the front of theshoe-horn from the back. I solved that problem by puttingsome nail polish on the back. (Since then I've correspondedwith the manufacturer and he said he's planning to dosomething to differentiate the front from the back.)Overall, I like this so much that I'm using it now, eventhough I don't actually need it yet. (Yes, I can reachmy feet, even while standing … but why bother.)I think it's worth the investment, and will make anice present for the boomers on your list.

March 9, 2017
I'd buy it again but it's a bit wide for my Allen Edmonds shoes. It feels a bit like it's not curved quite enough and I'm rather concerned that it will distress the leather over time. Otherwise it has a nice heft, solid feel, will definitely lose it before it breaks or anything like that.
Better than paying the same for plastic
March 9, 2017
I mean... it works. It's probably a bit overpriced for a piece of stamped sheet metal, but still. Better than paying the same for plastic.
but it actually works better for me
September 15, 2016
I decided on this shoe horn because it was made in the USA. It is a little longer than I was looking for, but it actually works better for me. It has been getting more difficult to get my shoes on, so decided to give it a try. For anyone who may have difficulty (mine happens to be age) bending to get your heel down in a shoe, I would certainly recommend using a shoe horn.It appears a shoe horn is thought of as a tool for men, as recommendations sent to me included other products for men, but someone should tell the computer otherwise. Also, it assumes the "product" is a pair of shoes.
rather good horn, albeit expensive
October 19, 2015
I've a number of shoe horns at various locations (home, condo, travel trailer), and have had the plastic variety break easily. So, metal is preferable. Such must be thick enough to resist deforming, which a horn I purchased at a Walmart did within a dozen uses, yet sufficiently svelte to function without obstructing shoe entry. I've 2 from Amazon, with one being a less expensive plain unit that works fine though can pinch at the unbeveled edges - no big deal but this "professional" horn seems to justify the expense by having no faults (thin, rigid, smooth edges).

May 26, 2015
Awesome shoe horn. Very sturdy and well-made. The edges are indeed smooth; not rough or machined poorly. The shoe horn itself is silky smooth too, especially when wearing thin dress socks. Size is a bit big and wide. This is not something you can tote around in your pocket but it will fit nicely in a briefcase/messenger bag or suitcase. As someone else mentioned, I am a bit concerned about this digging into the rear of my shoes, as it makes contact with the edges and also the insole if you dig deep enough and it is strong metal. I wear a 10D. I have not noticed any damage yet but will keep an eye out.

Okay But Not Strong
June 1, 2017
Horn was okay but the handle did not lock to hold in place and the spoon part bent after two uses. Seems a bit flimsy.
No adjustment needed/wanted
February 23, 2017
Being adjustable with a spring makes it harder to use rather than a stiff plastic one.
I loved the idea of this shoe horn
December 30, 2016
I loved the idea of this shoe horn. However, the handle bent after only one or two uses. Because of back surgery I am able to bend my back only a certain degree. Thus maybe the reason for bending. I like to give the seller the benefit of doubt. They did replace it with a new one.
Good but not perfect
March 1, 2016
Although I am able to use the product with average results (Some shoes work OK, while other shoes take some amount of readjusting to finally get the shoe on.), I feel that I would have much better success if there was not spring between the shaft & horn. I need the rigidity. Too much like putting a spring on the handle of a shovel. I really do like the telescoping handle, and being metal - not plastic.
Produce needs some help
January 4, 2014
I purchased two of these. The first one initially functioned well but after a few uses the horn bent in my shoe - it is way tooooo thin. If carefully inserted into the shoe it works OK.Before the first shoe horn bent I submitted a second order. The second one, the first time I used it, the horn itself pulled entirely off the end of the expandable rod and stayed in my shoe. I found the horn itself wasn't secured on the expandable rod by any adhesive or threading? I super glued the horn on the rod end, hopefully it will not come off again. This issue was due to insufficient QA.To make a better product the, expandable rod, should be made of thicker metal it currently feels very flimsy and can easily be bent. The shoe horn itself should be made of thicker metal and secured by threading or at least some strong of adhesive to keep it attached. In its current configuration it is girly. Improve it as per the above and make it a manly product that women can use as well.

Good, but maybe a bit wide
October 7, 2017
There are several shoe horns on the market of this nature; they're all clones and quite equal. Good metal, nice weight, will never wear out. But in one regard you need to be a little careful of these. Their problem is that they are a bit wide, and I think they could damage your shoe. Notice when you use one that the horn is about 20% wider than needed to open up the back of the shoe and let your foot slip in. Yep, it does let your foot slip in easily, but it also seems to put unnecessary stress on the shoe. At least for my foot (10 1/2 D). I ground down both sides of mine about 5/16" and polished the edges. Still seems a hair wide, but it works fine.

Really did not work well!
June 10, 2015
Really did not work well! I bought this one and another with a wood handle that was 31" long. The other one worked very smoothly and this one did not. There are a lot of instructions on how to use it?!? It is a shoe horn! Instructions should not be required in my opinion but even double checking the instructions it did not work well for me. The shoe just did not slip on well as it seemed to contort too much.
... help my handicap / elderly father and was very disappointed when it arrived
January 3, 2015
I bought this to help my handicap / elderly father and was very disappointed when it arrived. The main problem is that you cannot lock the handle at the desired length, so it's not really adjustable. The handle slides making it useless. It also allows for no weight, it is only a "guide". Those two features alone make for a very poor aide to assist in putting your shoes onwhen you are already physically compromised. This is getting returned.
Not very functional
February 2, 2014
I wanted a shoe horn I could depend on for not breaking like the plastic ones do, so I chose this metal one. I also like the extendable handle feature.Well, I was very disappointed when I first used the shoe horn because it has a spring just above the horn part that moves around so much that it fights with my shoe and foot and doesn't allow the stability I need to slide my foot in my shoe.It also should have a twist lock of some kind to allow you to keep the handle at the correct length once you've determined what that is.I think this shoe horn needs to go back to the designer, and I will continue shopping for another one that I can use that works well.

Bent after a few uses
July 30, 2016
This item bent after just a few uses. I rated it 2 stars since I was using it to put on 9-inch work boots as opposed to dress shoes. Maybe it was just not tough enough for what I needed, but being that it's metal I expected a bit more. The strength of this particular product lies in the shape of the shoe horn, not the material itself. Once it warped ever so slightly, the next use caused it to bent almost in half.

Get Rid of the Spring!
January 18, 2016
This is a really poor design for a well made product. The problem is in the spring action, it prevents the foot from slipping easily into the shoe! I have tried and tried and it is clear that a rigid shoehorn is much better! I wanted to send it back, but the lovely customer service persuaded me to keep it and keep on trying until I got the hang of it, which I never have!
