Best broom ever for pet owners!
September 16, 2017
My dog, a lab, is an exceptionally-heavy shedder. It is actually unbelievable how much hair she looses-- a minimum of one Dyson canister every single day. With carpet on two floors and hardwood on the other, I fight the battle of sweeping versus vacuuming constantly. I also get overwhelmed by the constant layer of fur that settles over the floor as soon as I put the vacuum away. Thinking this broom might help relieve my anxiety over having constant fur, I ordered it.Oh. My. Goodness. This has to be greatest invention EVER for people with dogs. I am able to collect softball-sized balls of hair several times a day, and I don't have to drag out a vacuum, don't need power, and don't make noise (which is a good thing when I sweeping up fur at 4AM or 11PM and don't want to wake everyone around me). This broom easily stores in the corner of my coat closet and is EASY to use.I HIGHLY recommend this broom to anyone with pets, especially pets that she'd the way mine does.
Everything I hoped it would be for removing pet hair.
July 22, 2016
I bought this broom to remove pet hair in my one bedroom apartment. We lived here for one year with a shedding dog a cat. We own a vacuum but it can barely pick up a popcorn kernel in 10 passes let alone deal with pet hair. The only somewhat worthwhile tool I had to deal with it all was actually getting on my hands and knees and actually brushing the carpet with a pet grooming brush, which was exhausting and rough on the carpet. I also was very afraid to buy a whole new vacuum and spend hundreds of dollars on something that might just clog up and break when faced with all the hair we had here. So I started looking into carpet brooms and rakes. At least if it didn't work, I'd only be out 20 or 30 dollars, tops. There are other carpet rakes and carpet brooms out there that use metal tines, and while I appreciated the sturdy look of it, I noted the reviewers that had issues with the rakes 'jumping' or catching on the carpet. I haven't tried and of the metal carpet rakes, and I don't think I will, since this broom is exactly what I needed. Other products may be effective, but I know with certainty that this one is. I chose this broom because it is marketed specifically as a fur remover and because of the positive reviews describing it, so I'm here to add one more.Like other reviews have noted, this broom is at it's most effective on pet hair when the rubber blade is used, as opposed to the rubber bristles. I was very, very skeptical that the solution to my pet hair problem was something as ludicrous as squeegeeing my carpet, but the results are undeniable. The bristle side does a bit of hair removal, but it often tosses hair out of the way or into the air. I find it's best to use the blade side, and then once everything is clean, to 'fluff' the carpet with the bristles. It makes it look very new and fresh. It's important to note that while this is very effective and very cheap, it's not a miracle. Using this broom on carpet does take a measure more energy than sweeping a smooth floor. As a healthy 24 year old, this did tire me out after 20-30 minutes of work. If you are not fully able-bodied, or just aren't looking to work that hard to save the money, a powerful vacuum cleaner may still be your wisest choice. Also, most non-hair objects will be bounced around by this broom rather than sweeping them up into a pile. In an odd way I was fortunate that all the hair I swept actually trapped a lot of other things inside it as I swept, but you're likely still going to need a vacuum cleaner to take care of the rest. Personally, I plan to purchase a small 20 dollar shop-vac as a companion to this broom, especially because right now I have to just pick up the wads of hair with my hands. The picture I've attached is what I swept from only about a quarter of my apartment. I lured my 40 pound dog into posing next to the hair I extracted for scale and for humorous effect. I also attached a before and after picture of a small section of carpet under my desk. This should highlight the improvement in hair (And even some other debris) removal, as well as how the bristles where able to easily fluff back up a section of carpet that had been pressed down over many months by a heavy metal power strip.Note that in the 'after' picture you can notice some hair still at the baseboard. This is just because It's difficult for me to reach under my desk, and not because there's any difficulty the broom itself has getting close to objects.I hope this gives anyone curious a full run-through of what the broom is actually capable of.
Very satisfied
April 2, 2016
Outstanding performance from this little guy, very satisfied. I use it mainly on hardwood/tile floors to eliminate the accumulation of my cat's fur (domestic longhair). It does a perfect job of not letting the fur escape; the thick rubber bristles attract and grab on to the fur for nice piles, and whatever fur sticks to the bristles forms into balls and is easily pulled off by hand or rinsed. Additionally, both the bristle side AND the squeegee side are great for stripping fur from our couch (read as "our cat's couch") which has a sort of velveteen upholstery that forms a romantic bond to fur. The fur piles in the pictures are what I was able to strip off with this broom AFTER I had thoroughly vacuumed.Aside from pet fur, I took this broom on a little tour around the apartment, and it's great at picking up any mess I've thrown at it, including spilled espresso grounds. Not a trace! It's collapsible handle is nice for jobs that require more or less leverage or reach, and the construction feels solid.
Better than a traditional broom!
February 24, 2016
As a former dog groomer, I first saw these brooms at a dog grooming show. They were about 16 inches long vs. 13 (loved the longer version which I cannot find anymore). I have purchased several of these brooms for the kitchen and bathrooms and I'm very pleased with the quality and price--although I've seen the price of this double since the company was sold recently. The broom is fantastic with hair, kitty litter, crumbs--and you don't have to pull hair off the bottom as you do with a standard broom. I have three dogs and the 'tumbleweeds' reappear the day after I vacuum--when I don't feel like pulling out the vacuum it's a great, quiet and quick substitute. I also will use it to pull embedded hair out of the rugs that the vacuum can't always get--it takes some elbow grease, but does an amazing job. The rubber is very soft and doesn't scratch or damage. The telescoping handle is a great convenience. And once in awhile I wash the removeable head and it's also super easy.
Use the backside with short quick strokes.
August 11, 2015
This thing just plain works. We got a mature golden retriever last year and were told he didn't shed. Then in the spring he started shedding badly. We were tired of hair everywhere and somehow I realized that dragging my shoe across the carpet balled the hair up. I found this product on a whim one day and knew it had to be better than my shoe! I ordered it and it was tough at first. The bristles pulled the hair up but then caught the tufts and spread them around. I found that using short quick strokes with the rake turned upside down got the best results. The backside is more like a squeegee and helps pull the hair up in long rolls and keeps the hair in one big pile. The photo is from out dogs favorite spot on the carpet and we couldn't see ANY hair when I started raking!!!

February 8, 2017
It works exactly as I expected. It takes some energy, but it definitely lifts long haired shag carpets, and it helps to lift the fibers oflower carpet. I would buy it again. It is also helpful in finding a lost object that is not suitable for the vacuum.
The Grandi Groom rake really does make the carpet look almost new again after a good raking and vacuuming
January 3, 2017
I bought this rake to try and put some life back into a couple of areas where our carpeting sees a lot of daily traffic and regular vacuuming just didn't seem to be lifting the pile up any longer. The Grandi Groom rake really does make the carpet look almost new again after a good raking and vacuuming, and I am pretty impressed! Obviously, it still requires on-going use to keep things looking good, but it does work as advertised. The rake is well made, and the handle is extra sturdy so you can really put some muscle behind it in those areas that need it. We don't have a pet, so I can't comment on how well it works for getting up pet fur or hair, but I will say that it does seem to result in a loosening of deeper dirt as that is noticeable in what ends up in the vacuum bag after a couple of uses. Obviously this will not replace a good steam cleaning of your carpeting, but regular use might prolong how long you can go before you have to have that done.
Perfect for getting dog hair off of Berber style carpet
August 3, 2016
We bought this because our rough collie sheds a lot of hair onto our Berber style carpet. The hair jams up our Dyson Pet vacuum, requiring clean outs after each room is vacuumed. After a full test run today, this rake is getting 99% of the hair; only one clean out needed for the vacuum, after finishing the entire floor...awesome!Excellent quality and design. The brush head secures to the steel bracket via lock nuts..easy to assemble. The bracket is secured to a long, solid wood handle that makes using the rake very easy. The brush has two rows of very stiff, plastic tines that are sort of like like mini cocktail straws (but stronger and not hollow). The rake is 2+ feet wide, making it easy to clean a large room quickly. Dragging it along the carpet under its own weight worked best for us, rather than raking with pressure. Great product.
Works Amazing with Artificial Grass Turf!
July 10, 2016
I got this for a large area of artificial grass / turf. We have a few large trees that constantly shed their leaves across my yard. Even with a blower, it took a long while, and still left debris.PROS:- Super easy set-up (it literally takes a couple minutes and you're good to go)- It works so well on my artificial grass! Not only does it remove leaves without much effort at all, but it 'fluffs' the grass blades back up to where the vibrancy of the greens and overall appearance look brand new again. *See the below attached picture - you can see how one side is covered in debris and the grass blades of grass look 'matted'. After using the rake on the opposite side, it's clean of debris, and the blades look revitalized and lush again)- It's a really durable broom, yet the plastic-like flexible bristles are gentle on the turf (it hasn't pulled any blades out or done any damage at all to it)CONS:- The only con I have with this rake is that the screws frequently come loose as I'm raking (for carpet, I don't think this would be an issue since you use more gentle force - but when applying heavier force and movement to rake leaves, I'm often having to pause, retighten the screws, and continue)Overall however, I absolutely love this rake and it's made yard maintenance so much better, easier, and enjoyable!
Perfect product for our turf
February 20, 2015
We had some turf put in the back yard, and this rake keeps the gravel and other stuff out of it. We play ball with our dog, and most of the yard is gravel, so he tracks rocks onto the turf (which he loves to lay on). Not a lot of rocks, but enough that about monthly it can use a rake. This was recommended by the turf installer, and is just the ticket! He also said it should be raked to distribute the sand that holds the turf to the ground. If this were a rainy place, the sand would get clumpy, but the wind can move it around a bit. Every couple of years I should add a bag or two of silicon sand and rake it in, says he.
Exactly what I hoped for
November 7, 2013
This lifts the carpet nicely. It will help make vacuuming and steam cleaning more effective. It is perfect for refreshing the crushed high-traffic areas. While it didn't remove the small tufts of poodle hair, it did lift them to the surface where they are more easily removed. I had vacillated between this 18" and another brand's 12" - and I am glad I chose this.

Awesome broom but seller needs to change policies with regard to purchasing multiples
May 20, 2017
These are awesome. I use this broom in my garage to clean up the sawdust from my woodworking project messes. They also work great cleaning up after my black lab. The only complaint I have is that the seller will only allow you to purchase one at a time. That is a problem. I recently purchased one for my boyfriend because he liked the one I had at home. That same day I accidentally broke the rubber piece that holds the pole on my old one. I went to buy me another one the same day I bought my boyfriend's and was told by Amazon that the seller only allows you to buy one at a time. I do not understand that at all.
works well
February 20, 2017
works well in short strokes. I had a similar item from another large website store and the tines just fell out with each use. This one seems to hold up with each use without loss of tines. I like the telescoping handle. It does tend to come unscresed where the brush meets the handle unless you screw it in every few strokes. I have 4 cats and use it primarily on my large area rug. I have to use another small brush and dust pan to get up the other stuff that comes up when you brush up pet fur. The pet fur comes up almost in short to long yarn like strips.
Unbelievable How Much Fur Gets Trapped in Low-Pile Rugs (and Removed by this Broom)!!
July 30, 2016
We have a golden retriever who sheds everywhere. We have a very low-pile rug in the living room and our vacuum cleaner can't pick up the embedded fur, even with the rotating "rakes". Picked up this broom and it really works! It does take some getting used to in order to figure out the best method for getting up the fur. You really need to do small areas at a time or you'll reapply the fur that gets stuck on the rubber to the carpet area you just cleared. So pick up fur and clear off the rubber frequently. Also, the handle is too short and you'll need to bend over or sit on the floor. It's probably that short so the handle won't break too easily/fast? Another way to overcome this is to have your short children do the job!!! :)
The broom head itself is excellent, but the handle is cheap and breakable
December 28, 2015
I have mixed feelings about this broom. It really gets the job done--pulls a tremendous amount of hair (my hair) out of the carpet--but two months after I purchased it, the handle snapped in half during use. I was flabbergasted. The broom head itself is excellent, but the handle is cheap and breakable. Handle with care!I'm going to look for other, similar brooms.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE: After looking around and seeing that every other rubber broom on the market has mixed reviews about durability I decided to just reorder this one. I'm increasing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. It really does clean a crazy amount of hair out of your carpet. Sweeping the carpet once a month in my bedroom alone I always end up with a softball sized wad of hair. By the way, I don't have pets. That's my own hair I'm sweeping out of the carpets. My hair isn't thinning either. People just shed a lot more than they think. So if you have long hair and you're as grossed out as I am by the thought of that much hair hiding in your carpet, this is a great broom to buy.I've had the new broom for several months now. I haven't had a problem, and if I do, I figure I'll just throw out the handle and put the head on a new one. When the first one snapped, my boyfriend was the user and he was in a bad mood. I think maybe he learned his lesson and is treating the broom a bit more gently this time around. It's a great broom, just don't hulk out and snap it in half.
Vacuum saver
July 16, 2015
While I do have a cat, I mostly got this broom for the miles-long human hair that is strewn all over my house which burns out vacuum beater bar motors. For that purpose, the FURemover did very well. It sweeps my carpet for long hair much more effectively than a regular broom.Side note: I tried it on a microfiber bench to see how it handled cat hair. It took no less than 30 strokes over an area before the cat hair was removed. Not significantly better than using my bare hand, but it's likely the fabric itself was a major factor.
Works great for cleaning fiber out my needle felting pads.
March 21, 2015
I wasn't too excited about these. It takes a lot of effort to actually work the broom efficiently. I have a chronic pain disorder so the broom was difficult for me to use. I really didn't pick up much of the dog hair with it either. But to be fair, I have wood laminate and tile floors and leather couches, so I didn't get to try it on fabric upholstery. I did find a great use for it though. I do needle felting using wool, and the brush is perfect for cleaning the wool out of my foam felting pad. It does a really great job for that if I brush in circles. So, I'm going to assume that it would work the same way on upholstered furnitureThe brush can be used to scrub your car while washing it as well. So, even though I didn't get great results on picking up dog hair, I was able to appropriate it for another purpose that I am happy with.

Nice rake!
August 23, 2017
Nice product but delivery was by snail mail - don't think I have ever waited this long for anything purchased online - ugh!!! I use this rake with their "perky" carpet cleaner and it has made a positive difference ... so I guess good things take time ...
Works well, but you have to use lots of pressure (which hurts my hand after awhile) to not skip on the carpet
December 19, 2016
I do like this product and it works well, but as others have mentioned you have to use quite a bit of pressure on the handle or it skips over the carpet. You have to use your second hand to press on the handle and after awhile it hurts my hand. I'm going to buy some kind of padding to put on the handle to make it easier on my hand. Hopefully this will aleviate hurting my hand when I use this product. The outcome is good though, just takes quite a bit of work and isn't very comfortable without padding on the handle.
Handy item...especially if you contend with pet hair.
November 20, 2016
This simple rake really picks up the cat hair that is never ending at our house. I'm not sure how long the little nylon bristles will last, but it definitely does the job. It keeps all of that brush tangling hair our of my vacuum cleaner if I use this first.
Didn't meet expectations when used on wool Pottery Barn rugs
February 28, 2016
This rake would do a good job on a rug with fine fibers, but I was disappointed with its performance on Pottery Barn wool rugs. I bought this to use with Capture dry carpet cleaner, but after a light spray of Capture pre-treatment followed by the powder allowed to dry overnight, big globs of wool fibers got caught in the teeth of the Groom Carpet Rake on the first use. I used the brush attachment in the Capture kit after that (it still created blobs, but seemed to penetrate better), and the rake sat in my closet ever since then.Today (3 months later), I encountered a possible new use for the rake and was hopeful it would work better this time. A somewhat heavy side table had been sitting in the same place near my sofa for about a month. When I moved it to vacuum under it, I saw an impression was left in the Pottery Barn rug. Brushing the rug with my fingers wasn't helping; then I remembered the carpet rake. I raked at all different angles, plus, tried to fluff up the fibers with my fingers again. Athough the impression in the rug is lighter, it is still noticeable, and the extensive raking scraped off more rug fibers than it was worth. The raking did kick up some dust, so it helped to get the rug clean.Based on these two trials, I think the Groom Carpet Rake has teeth that are too fine for thick Pottery Barn wool fibers. Maybe my expectations were too high, and I expect that this rake could do better on a standard rug with synthetic fibers.
Perfect for homeowner that cares for carpets. Grooms carpets very well. Recommended.
April 29, 2015
The materials used in the carpet rake are very good overall. The wooden handle is sturdy and the bracket that attaches to the comb is strong as well. The teeth on the brush are firm enough to raise the carpet as desired. This is my second rake (first one by a different manufacturer) and we use it quite often. Really helped with pet hair and allowing it to be picked up better by the vacuum. I would recommend this rake to the user that will have moderate use, i.e., once or twice a week. Not intended for commercial or daily use. I would imagine the teeth may break off with heavy use. I am glad we purchased the product and would recommend.
Bought this to use for something it's not specifically designed ...
January 7, 2015
Bought this to use for something it's not specifically designed for - as a supplemental vacuuming step. We have a Golden Retriever, and I literally have to spend 20 minutes cleaning out the vacuum brushes every time we vacuum. This seems to grab most of the long hair out of the carpet that causes the problem, and extended my "vacuum maintenance interval" greatly.

Compact, and sqeeges well. But it's head connection is not standard or sturdy.
September 18, 2016
I have to admit that I did not buy this broom for its intended purpose. I bought it to have a squeegee that fits in my trunk to clean up puddles at skateparks. And it work pretty well for that. It's only a foot wide, so it take about 3 times as many swipes as a normal 3' squeegee. But it stows easily. The broom side is useless for my purposes (little rubber bristles flight dirt and tiny rocks all over the place). But I can see how it would work perfectly cleaning up pet hair. The only downside it that it attaches to the stick with a non standard rubber connection that isn't strong enough. After the first few uses it loosens and it's easy to lose the head while wiping up puddles.
This product isn't bad by any means
April 17, 2016
This product isn't bad by any means. It might be great for scrubbing your car, patio, etc. But as far as carpets go, it doesn't work to rake up pet hair, which is why I purchased it. My carpets are pretty standard. Not super thick & plush but not stiff and thin either. I think it may work on the type of carpet pictured, which is thin and hard, like office/commercial use carpet. I didn't return it, because it seems to be well made and a good price, and I know I can use it for other household cleaning projects. I just wish it wasn't advertised as being great for carpets, because it isn't.
Head chatters, but I've made it work
January 9, 2016
When I did a search for shag rakes, this device came up in the search results. I didn't buy this to pick up dog hair, which is what my Dyson is supposed to do. I bought it to raise the nap of the mini-shag that the vacuum clumps together in a most disgusting way (but that's another review). It does do a great job smoothing vacuum tracks on plush, where it smooths out the vacuum tracks nicely. I also like the squeegee edge for getting rid of water in my garage. It works much better than the squeegee I bought specifically for that purpose. However, I have not found that this broom works as well on mini-shag. The head isn't very stiff and it chatters, so you have to push down and then pull very hard in very short strokes, which is tiring after a short time. If the head had some rigid support, it would work much better in a wider variety of applications.
and sometimes they just push the fur around like any other broom would
October 24, 2015
first off, i'm only really using this on hardwood, so i can't comment on how well or poorly it pulls fur/hair out of carpeting. i also have not used it as a squeegee. on hardwood, the bristles don't really hold on to the fur/hair in any helpful capacity; sometimes wads of fur stick to them, and sometimes they just push the fur around like any other broom would. the fur that does stick to them is as likely to fall back off onto the floor seconds later and need to be swept again. it's just a broom with rubber bristles - nothing spectacular. the handle they provide, however, is garbage, and you should save yourself some time and just throw it away. if you do install the handle, it's just going to snap off at the end where the plastic threaded part screws into the broom head. maybe even the second time you're sweeping with it and you softly bump the broom into, say, the leg of a couch. then you'll have to take some pliers or channel locks and unscrew the threading from the broom head. i happened to have a threaded handle laying around from some ceiling painting a while back, and that screwed right in. if i hadn't had that on hand, i would have been far more irritated, and this would have been a one star review on the basis of this thing being kind of a cheap piece of crap. but, as i wrote, the broom part does work just like any broom would, and $13 is fairly inexpensive.
I have found that a carpet "rake" and a Bissell sweeper are perfect for carpet and short hair animals
September 22, 2015
This broom does not work well on carpet for a short haired cats. It does work well on tile floors for dry sweeping and wet mopping. I do plan to keep the broom. However, I think about returning it, as its "OK," but not by much, for getting hair of a short haired cat from carpet. I kept it for its many great alternate uses. For wet mopping, place a towel around the rubber bristles. Also, I shorten the handle and use it as a very effective carpet stair cleaner as well as on tile as referenced above. The scrapper edge of the broom s excellent for sliding alone carpet where is touches the wall - gets grime vacuums can't get too. I also use the broom to "agitate" carpet wet/foam cleaner (into the carpet) as suggested on the carpet cleaning box. Very effective in agitating carpet cleaner for that purpose. Overall for my carpet, I have found that a carpet rake and a Bissell sweeper are perfect for carpet and short hair animals. Several reviewers reported that this broom works well on longhair. I don't doubt that, I just don't need it for long hair. As some have stated , on carpet use the broom in short strokes without applying a lot of pressure. It's just OK and not really good for short haired cats. But the construction of the broom and the rubber bristles and scraper edge allow for many household uses. The handle extension from long to short has advantages for other household cleaning events. Great to clean your tub and shower walls without bending or entering the tub. I use it on house and car windows. As a tile or wood floor sweeper its AWESOME! So, I gave it three stars for alternate uses. Again, to really clean cat hair (short) from your carpet - purchase a carpet rake and bissell sweeper. Together both get the job done 111%
Works well, but doesn't last.
January 21, 2015
I really wish this was made of stronger materials. It works better than any other product like this, but simply doesn't last. We have large area rugs and a flat-coated retriever. The outcome is a hairy rug that our vacuum simply can't keep up with. On a lark, we bought one of these and it worked well, until the rubber ripped. Thinking it was better than nothing, we got another, only to have the head break off. After a family member's dog died, we inherited a third, only to have it rip like the first. Each one was broken by a different member of our family, so I do not think it was us. So there you have it, it works fairly well, does get up the hair the vacuum leaves behind, but it will break on you way before you've gotten your money out of it.

Rug rake
August 31, 2017
It loosens the cat hair in the rug but doesn't pick it up as in some of the pictures provided.
that would be the best carpet tool to pick up hair ever made
June 28, 2017
I have 3 very large dogs, after trying it for the first time I wasn't impressed. I just wasn't getting enough hair up with this rake, until I shortened the "teeth" on the comb by 1/2. Now being more rigid, I get 10 times the hair I used to. If someone would make a 3 foot wide slicker brush on a pole. that would be the best carpet tool to pick up hair ever made. Now if I hadn't had to cut the tines in half myself it would have gotten 5 stars, it now works like a champ.
missing part ruined anticipation
January 12, 2017
I really looked forward to getting this item -- and actually the brush itself ;looks like it will suit my needs very well -- BUT -- One of the nuts and washers needed to secure the brush to the handle was missing.. It could be a packaging error as the item was not in a very secure package or perhaps it was just missed - but obviously the item is unusable until I find a way to rig a replacement fastener. If everything had been in the package this would probably be rated a minimum of 4 , maybe even a 5 BUT -- it did not meet expectations as is.
Carpet loooks better after raking, but does not have lasting effect. Needs to be done on regular basis.
June 26, 2016
I never dug our dirt and hair like other reviewers, but I don't have pets or family with long hair - just my husband and I. My carpet is a freize and has definite traffic pattern even though it was an expensive carpet. My carpet cleaner says it's due to the soft back. Anyway, the rake does fluff up the carpet, but needs to be done often and with some effort as others have described. The carpet definitely looks better after it's been raked.
Not great for picking up fine pet hair
May 4, 2015
I thought this item would solve all of my "I have two long-haired cats and long haired house rabbit" problems. It did not. The stiff bristles do a good job of lifting the carpet pile and loosening dirt, but do not do much for picking up long, fine pet hair. It just seems to move the hair around on the surface of the carpet. I think that more rubbery bristles, or very fine wire (like in a pet brush) would do better. I still have get down on my hands and knees to use my pet brush to get the hair off. I will keep it as my cheaper carpet has pile that gets smashed easily, but it is not doing the job for which I purchased it terribly well. It's better than nothing, but that's about it.
I'm unsure about this product...
December 1, 2014
I purchased this thinking it was something I needed to rake the dyson Zoorb carpet cleaner into my rug. But after using it once I'm not sure about the purpose of it. The rake bristles are firm not easy to use. Unless this item has another purpose or use it isn't something I would recommend.

Not great on sofas
May 20, 2017
I bought this because I have a huge micro-suede sofa that's 97x97 with a depth of 53 inches. It's like a magnet for dog hair and vacuum attachments don't cut it. I was previously using a regular shower squeegee to drag the hair off but wanted something with a longer blade. This product was disappointing. The rubber blade wasn't isn't very stiff/sturdy so it didn't help with what I wanted to use it for. The adjustable pole doesn't stay locked in position while using it and the head pops off too easily and occasionally turns while applying pressure. I also tried to sweep my floors with it which did work better but not worth the hassle with the pole constant unlocking. In my opinion, spend the extra money and buy one of the better quality ones.
This is a really good idea in theory but it's just not quite executed ...
March 30, 2017
This is a really good idea in theory but it's just not quite executed real well......Basically it's a cheap rubber scrubby on a expandable broom handle. The head won't stay on the broom handle real well and the rubber piece is very cheaply made and I doubt will last long. HOWEVER, it DOES get up the dog hair in the carpet and on hard surfaces. I vacuumed the carpet with my Dyson vacuum before using this and it still pulled up clumps of dog hair (I have one Australian shepherd and a pug mix who both shed). If I could get it to stay together and not fall apart after a couple uses it would be great! But for $20 I would almost rather be on my hands and knees with a rubber brush or squeegee.....just saying.
Unless you want to make it 100x harder than it has to be...
February 16, 2017
My dog sheds so much its a wonder how he has any fur at all. I typically use a slicker brush and get down on my hands and knees to brush the carpet (yes the whole carpet). It works extremely well and leaves the carpet plush and perky but its a pain in the butt for obvious reasons. So i was excited when i saw this product with so many good reviews. If you have about a year of your life and the strength of a thousand men then go for it. You have to go over the same spot a dozen times with intense pressure with quick raking motions and it will exhaust you quickly. I could do my entire living room with a 4 inch wide slicker brush faster and easier than i could do a 5' by 5' area of carpet with this product. I recommend finding a rake with small metal bristles like a slicker brush. Would not recommend.
Total Bummer
October 13, 2016
I was so excited to find a tool that would help with gathering the hair on our carpet. Having three dogs and two cats, we are forever vacuuming, lint rolling and sweeping. The top vacuum for pet hair, Shark Rotator NV752 (source nerd wallet.com) is a bit big for our budget. So I was really excited for this product after reading a pet bloggers recommendation.I opened the package eager to use the Furemover Broom. After a quick screw together of the top to the stick, I quickly got to work on my family room carpet. I tried various techniques and with each one I was disappointed. This tool gathers a bit of the hair but nothing like what it is purported to do. The amount of raking required isn't worth the amount of hair this resulted in. Think I'm returning this one. Suppose I need to start savings my pennies for my coveted vacuum.
Disappointed - and lots of black marks on my baseboards
June 16, 2015
I have white baseboards and this left black marks allllllll over them. In addition, it really didn't do much for removing the fur/hair that I was trying to get. There's a bit of a lip that hangs beyond where the bristles start, so you can't even get as close to the wall as you need to get anyway (hence all the black marks in the effort to get in that crease). Pretty much useless.
Problems, Although Maybe I'm Not Doing It Right?
June 20, 2013
I have 4 cats and a baby that's starting to crawl. Needless to say, I wanted to pick up as much fur as possible off of the carpet for my baby. First I dry vacuumed and then used this brush - nothing came up. Then I sprayed some carpet solution in a designated area (thinking maybe fur comes up better when the carpet is wet) - still barely nothing. I knew that the floors probably weren't that fur free, so I when my tax refund came back, I splurged and bought a Bissell steam vacuum cleaner - and in the living room alone, 2 softball-sized clumps of fur that came out of the carpet - grossly impressive! I love the way my carpets look and feel clean now, however I unfortunately won't be using this product anymore. Again, don't know if I wasn't doing it right, but I'll never switch back from the Bissell now!

Didn't work on my shag carpet
January 3, 2017
We have a golden lab and he sheds a lot! We have wood floors and area rugs I was hoping to use this on. The shag carpet does not vacuum well and I had hopes for this! Unfortunately after raking and raking I only pulled up minimal hair and it wasn't worth it. It worked better on the wool carpet but we ended up returning this product.

June 3, 2016
When I had my carpets cleaned they had a carpet rake and it was amazing the amount of pet hair they pulled up and that was after I swept with a reputable vacuum sweeper. I used this carpet rake and it did not pull up anything at all. My husband tore up the box it came in and I can't return it without the original box from what your returns say. So I have to say I am very unhappy about the whole thing.P.L.
Makes your carpet look sorta new for a second
April 14, 2016
Let me start by saying I have a new house with new carpet. I purchased this in the hopes it would keep my carpet from matting. Unfortunately is never fixing the matting problem. In fact my regular vacuum does better. I really was hoping this would be the magic bullet but no such luck.
Definitely a dud!
March 24, 2016
The tines on the carpet rake looked like they would be stiff; they are not. It takes an enormous amount of pressure to get the nap to stand up whether it's just after shampooing, or before vacuuming. Yes my carpet isn't new but is a sculptured berber in good condition. Getting down on the floor with an old fashion scrub brush will produce better results, or using one attached to a pole. Don't waste your money on this carpet rake.
Its pretty matted down at this point
December 8, 2014
I live in an apartment which ostensibly has cheap, apartment-grade carpeting. Have not found that this product really does anything to refresh the pile. Its pretty matted down at this point, and the rake is really not sturdy enough to get down in there and thoroughly comb through.I bought the rake because I have very long hair, and I was spending more time cutting hair out of the vacuum brush than actually vacuuming. I wanted something that I could quickly run over the carpet and pull up most of the hair as a precursor to running the vacuum through. The rake does an OK, not great job of picking up the hair. I have a more-loosely-piled rug where the rake works pretty well. Overall, getting down and just rubbing my hands across the carpet is far more effective.Again, I'm not sure what the results would be with a heavier or longer pile. It really hasn't done too much for me.
Arrived missing a bolt
July 6, 2013
I'm giving this item 2 stars because one of the two bolts that hold the rake head to the handle was missing when it arrived. The plastic bristles were also bent in some places. I had to purchase the right size bolt to attach the rake head to the handle and make it usable. I wouldn't say that I love the item by any means. I guess I expected a product that really got deep into my shag area rug and cleaned it with ease. This doesn't. It does provide quite an arm workout - as you will need to use a good deal of effort and patience if using this on a rug that has more than a half inch of length to the shag. I think a product that combined the rake shape with a material that attracted/grabbed hair and/or dirt would be the best solution if you're trying to keep your shag carpeting maintained and looking great. This product really doesn't do either - I will be purchasing another item in the future to replace this one and perform how I had hoped this rake would.

Can I give zero stars?
October 11, 2017
I waited all day to get this magic broom in the mail! With a long haired dog and a cat, I am forever vacuuming. We have Berber carpet and a shag rug in the living. Before I tackled those I scraped it across the kitchen floor. Nothing. And, let me tell you, with two pets and two kids we don't have a consistently clean floor so it should have picked up all kinds of hair and crumbs and dirt. Then I took a shot at the Berber. Not a single piece of hair dislodged. Not even on the broom itself! So, while my husband silently laughed at my desperation I attacked the shag rug (where my hairy dog rolls around). Some fur attached itself to the broom BUT nothing balled up like the photos.I fee like they were lies. All lies. This is one of the worst purchases I've ever made on Amazon. It will go into the garage where it will live out its days as a squeegee. Hopefully our basement will someday flood and I will have a use for this piece of junk.
Doesn't work at all like it says
September 16, 2017
I honestly wish that I could give it no stars. I very rarely post a bad review, but all this does is just throw dust around. I've never been so disappointed in the product. Wish that there was a way that I could return it.
Awesome, but it BROKE
September 15, 2017
The broom snapped in half the first time I used it....If it weren't for the broom's poor material quality, it would have been a 5/5. I was amazed at how good it got pet hair off the hardwood floor, carpet, and even the couch!....but now it's trash.
Am I doing something wrong?
July 10, 2017
My inlaws bring their dog when they stay with us and it sheds on the basement rug. I have the original Dyson and it cannot pick up the fine short white hairs this dog leaves. Got this product, ran downstairs to sweep the rug and it does not work. Bummer!
LOVE IT. I HAVE TILE FLOORS AND 7 DOGS
May 31, 2017
I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE IN MAY 2017 FOR $5 AND NOW THEY HAVE JACKED UP THE PRICE TO $20. WHAT A FRAUD! I STILL USE IT BUT NOT WORTH $20. IT DOESNT GET SAND OR FINE DIRT UP VERY WELL. CHANGING MY RATING BECAUSE OF THE DISHONESTY OF JACKING THE PRICE UP.BELOW IS THE REVIEW I FIRST WROTE.LOVE IT. I HAVE TILE FLOORS AND 7 DOGS. THIS IS GREAT FOR REMOVING DOG HAIR. IT REACHES UNDER FURNITURE AND BRINGS THE HAIR OUT UNDER TABLES AND TV STANDS.I AM ORDERING A SECOND ONE FOR A GIFT. FOR LESS THEN $6 THE PRICE CAN'T BE BEAT AND IT IS SO EFFECTIVE.
Works barely
May 6, 2017
I have a long white haired Norwegian cat. Needless to say, we have an immense fur problem.....EVERYWHERE. The reviews claimed this product works. FALSE. The telescoping handle is too loose and there is not enough tension for even accurate strokes. In the product's defense, it does work when used ONLY by hand. I suggest you look for an alternative if you're in the Market for one of these.

Wasted money!

This was missing a screw and could not be used. I have tried to return it, but the website will not allow me to do so. Wasted money.
Thumbs down
February 5, 2017
I purchased this product to "revive" a particular area on my carpet and when I read all of the reviews and watched videos of just how great this product worked, I didn't decided not to buy the knock-off but the original. However, after using the product for a few times, really putting some arm strength into it, it was a fail. So, if you are looking to revive your carpet, thumbs down for me but if you just want to remove let hair good prouduct.

Looks fairly sturdy. Unfortunately they did not include the bolts to assemble. The directions showing that the bolts were supposed to be attached to the head made it in the box...but not the bolts.I suppose I could go to the store and try to find a bolt but my husband figured that for the price we paid, they can just send a new one. No return available. Couldn't find the right bolts....too much hassle
Did not work at all on cat hair on carpet or couches.
July 19, 2016
Did not work at all on burbur carpet or on micro-suede couch. Returned. Bristles do not bend nor have any texture to attract or collect cat hair. All it did was make it look evenly combed into the carpet. I wanted a tool that would bring up from carpet and remove the pet hair.
Disappointed in this item
July 14, 2016
Disappointed in this item. I couldn't tell a difference at all in our carpet or area rugs. The head was also wobbly as the screw was difficult to tighten. Sent back for a refund.
Doesn't work as described
July 3, 2015
Part of the nylon teeth in the rake arrived bent, but even the part where they aren't bent doesn't pick up hair, just leaves fine lines in carpet. Useless, will be returning.
