Many uses, high quality
December 30, 2016
Very nice product that I can already think of many uses. I obviously rices potatoes very effectively. Next I am going to use it to make spatzle as the large grate will work perfect. High quality and heavy construction, highly recommended.
One gadget that I love to use.
December 22, 2016
I can't believe that I passed up this item before. It is now one of my favorite if not my favorite kitchen toy to use. It's versatile and I love the ease of use and cleaning it. Very sturdy and even though I have small hands it really doesn't affect how much pressure I use to cut up the potatoes or carrots or radishes or... soooo many things.! Thank you UberChef. I am definitely going to purchase from you again and again.

Best Mashed Potatoes Ever
November 29, 2016
Love this. This made the best mashed potatoes ever. Everyone commented on my mashed potatoes and wanted to know what I did to make them so good. Who ask about the potatoes? Seriously? But the potatoes were very silky and smooth. And the ricer was easy to use. Sometimes the disc did stick to the plunger, but not every time and it was not a pain.
Great potato ricer for smooth but firm consistency.
November 25, 2016
Used it today for the first time. Creamiest mashed potatoes ever. Kudos from everyone!
I've always used an old-fashioned masher, last 2 years, due to my arthritis, the potatoes were extremely lumpy. This year they were smooth, creamy and delicious. Will definitely use for sweet potato pies and other dishes that you want a smooth, but firm consistency. Can't wait to use other plates, for other dishes.

They're GREAT for young ones eating more natural foods made by mom's or dad's. Cook it, mash it, serve it. It also has many other fantastic applications. Worth the buy if you spend more time in your own kitchen, rather than going out.
well made, great piece

These items is made of solid sturdy metal. Has 3 different sizes to get a finer strainer or a clumpier strain depending on what you like. Easy to use, a little harder to get completely clean, but very well made.

December 5, 2015
Bought this for our Thanksgiving dinner putatoes, 10 pounds of them. It worked flawlessly. After doing them I decided to do the rutabaga and carrots it was so easy and made the best side dishes ever.
Updated review
March 31, 2015
I have actually purchased (2) of these. The first one was for me and I would rate it 4 to 5 stars. When my son was visiting, he made the mashed potatoes and commented on how much he liked the ricer. So, I purchased a second one for him as a "just because" gift. He contacted me last night to let me know that the ricer I bought for him bent/broke on the very first potato that he tried to mash; hence, the 1 star review as we are only running 50/50 in terms of quality.**UPDATE**: Vinestar has been fantastic to deal with. I heard from her immediately after the first review and I received a replacement unit already. The guarantee is straight forward with no hoops to jump through - just prompt, courteous service. An excellent vendor indeed who truly stands behind the guarantee! The new unit is here and I have inspected it closely. I am sure that we will not have any problems with this one what-so-ever and that my son will be quite happy with it. My personal unit is still getting a workout at least twice a week and it is holding up spectacularly. These ricers really are great! As other reviewers have mentioned, these are great time savers as you do not have to peel your potatoes. The peel is left behind in the basket area which is very easy to clean - either by hand or top of the rack in the dishwasher. With the 3 different disks provided, you can mash multiple items and get different consistencies. The handles are long enough so you gain quite a bit of leverage when forcing the food through - especially nice if you have arthritis in your hands as I do. Our potatoes always come out perfect - fluffy, airy, and voluminous. I just regret not having discovered this particular ricer years ago.
Restaurant quality smooth!
January 20, 2015
This ricer makes making mashed potatoes sooo much faster and easier than the regular potato masher. The best part is that it makes for some really smooth mashed potatoes- restaurant quality smooth. The ricer itself looks and feels very durable, so much so that I was even able to put an entire regular sized sweet potato in and it did the job. However, I'd recommend cutting it in half as it's much easier to use that way.I like that it has three different removable plates. The different sizes can make for a nice variety in presentation at lunches or dinner parties.Cleaning was not a problem. Just ran some soap and water right after use and I was good to go. The fact that the the plates are removable also makes cleaning that much easier.I can't find any faults with it and I would recommend to all my friends and family.
Finally The Ricer I Was Looking For
January 11, 2015
I’ve been using potato ricers for some time now to make mashed sweet potatoes. I’ve had some issues with my old devices though. Water getting stuck in the implement is quite annoying, not to mention unsanitary. Another one I had broke after a dozen or so uses. The Acutos ricer is pure stainless steel, no hollow parts and a sufficiently long handle for excellent leverage. The three discs allow for added versatility and an easy clean up.I’m happy with this ricer. Get one for yourself, you’ll be happy too.

Nice product, just not for
June 10, 2017
Not really what I expected, even though I wasn't sure what to expect. Nice product, just not for me
Creamy potatoes, overall good buy
December 7, 2016
I have now used this potato ricer a few times to much success and the applause from my potato-loving family. I personally enjoy the "heftiness" of the product which holds up to multiple rounds of potato ricing. The final outcome is a super smooth, creamy mashed potato. Since this is my first potato ricer, I'm not sure if it's a common problem for the disc to get stuck to the underside of the masher every time you squeeze a batch of potatoes through. It's annoying to fix the disc every time you use it, but ultimately it is well made, easy to use and does the job really well. If you're looking for a good product to make creamy mashed potatoes, this is it.
It is not a bad gadget.
December 2, 2016
I see what people are saying about the plate sticking, but I put the rice plate on upside down and just use a knife to separate them between presses. It's the nature of the interchangeable plates. It is not a bad gadget.
Very straightforward and easy to use!
November 26, 2016
The only complaint I have is that the swappable discs for the different styles of grinds don't quite stay in place, so it's a bit finicky to use for the first few squeezes before the potato starch kinda holds it in place.
Woot, I'm ricing now!
October 13, 2015
This is a great product. It feels very sturdy and I didn't have any reservation that the discs would bend at the pressure of ricing the potato. My only qualm is the disc sticking to the press after each ricing, prompting me to have to separating the disc from the presser at each junction. If there was a way to lock it in place it would be top notch. Clean-up is a breeze though with the separated disc.

I've used this once and it worked wonderfully. It is one more thing to clutter up my kitchen though. BUT, the mashed potatoes turn out so much better this way.
works just fine
April 26, 2015
Works just fine, easy to clean once u get the disc out. It was a a little tricky after pressing a freshly cooked potato through it, but then I realized it expanded from the heat so I ran cold water over the disc and was able to pop it out after a few seconds. Heavy unit, seems well-made. Customer support was awesome.

March 26, 2015
I wish the stainless in the handle was a little heavier gauge material. It flexes a bit when you squeeze down. however, i'll deal with it because this thing is all stainless and is dishwasher safe. I like being able to remove the ricer discs to clean them. The balance is also a little off. It wont stay upright if you set it on the counter.
... source pan for a few minutes to get them nice and fluffy
January 23, 2015
After I pre-cook and drain my potatoes I place them over for a source pan for a few minutes to get them nice and fluffy. Similar to a garlic press, you simply place your potatoes inside and press down making nice even rice like potatoes. The benefit to using a potato ricer instead of mashing the potatoes by hand is that the potato ricer achieves a uniformly smooth consistency with no lumps. And an electric mixer or food processor can overwork the starches, producing a gluey product. A ricer is definitely the way to go.

I think it is a very good product, particularly for the price
September 19, 2017
I think it is a very good product, particularly for the price. However, I only gave it 3 stars because of the non existent customer service. On their website, they talk about a video. I contacted them twice, asking where the video is, since I wasn't sure about the need to use the cylindrical sleeve that fits into the ricer. It seems to work without it. 5 days have passed and I have received no response, although they make quite an effort to pretend to care for their customers, being a small start up company. I am not feeling the love!

Easy creamy mashed potatoes and more!
January 28, 2017
I love my potato ricer! This unit makes making mashed potatoes a breeze! The only feature I dislike is that the disk gets stuck to the potatoes and you have to remove it and reset it every squeeze. If only there was a way to lock the disk in place!
Does it's job.
January 8, 2017
This gets three stars because when you use it potato squeezes out the top. Then the plate sticks to the bottom of the press and I have had to use a butter knife to unstick it to put more potatoes in. It works but is a bit of a hassle.
Good for someone to see if they like using ricers for potatoes.
December 10, 2016
The lever mechanic sticks, ans this hasn't been machined to be as good as you would expect. I want to like it, and for the price its pretty decent, but I can tell you that I am already thinking about a replacement from the small things that I keep getting from this.Basically the biggest issue is, that if the press was spaced better, or if the lever was longer, this would be much more fluid, but as is, it just gets really annoying 3 potatoes in.

Disappointing. I had meant to give this as a bonus wedding gift to a nephew, but the quality simply isn't acceptable. Very uncomfortable handle. Not up to the standards of the vintage ricer I use.

Poor quality (where it matters)
May 31, 2015
Everything was great about this except the main pressure point where you'd think they'd put the strongest metal - but in fact was extremely flimsy metal. I'm talking about the arm of the plunger - that bends after a few potatoes if you're not EXTREMELY careful and put in the softest potatoes possible. Any force bends that arm. Unfortunately I wasn't able to return this in time so I'm left with scrap metal. BUYER BEWARE!

May 16, 2015
Probably would work fine for its intended purpose but I gave it a rather solid squeeze and the metal connecting the upper handle to the plunger bent when the potato wasnt fully cooked. Even though its stainless its very thin and bends a lot more than expectedI returned it and replaced it with a more solid cast aluminum one which is far more sturdy.

Returned the disc were sticking to the potatoes making a mess to remove it did not like
No. Potatoes stick to the disc like glue and you have to break a nail to separate it from the plunger EVERY TIME you squeeze.
November 28, 2016
No. The Plus - the bottom disc is exchangeable to accommodate different sized discs. HOWEVER. The Minus - That means when you squeeze the lever, those gooey, sticky mashed taters fasten that floating disc like glue to the plunger that pushes down. My husband bent back a fingernail and I lost one. We finally started using a butter knife to try to pry it off and even that was really tough and netted injuries. Whoever said you don't need to peel the potatoes was smoking something. I tried ricing my first set of unpeeled and cubed potatoes and ended up pulling hot potato peels out of the holes that had cemented shut for 5 minutes. Hardly a time saver. So, we peeled the rest of the large Thanksgiving-sized batch of potatoes and then ran them through the ricer. I had hoped this would be easier and net less sore muscles than a standard masher. Nope. I finally grabbed my husband and gave him the task of squeezing that plunger. Again the issue of the disc sticking like glue every time was insane. Seriously...we were prying it off with a knife...a knife people. Because a spoon is too thick to use as a lever in between that tiny space. A fingernail works sometimes, but is painful. If the disc was NOT removable, it would have been easier.
After much, much more time than it would have taken to mash the potatoes with a traditional masher, I ended up with lumpy mashed potatoes. Granted, they were smaller lumps and my husband doesn't mind lumps, but I do. That was the whole point of the ricer.
Not worth it.
November 23, 2016
I thought the three different disks would be nice, unfortunately they do not sit secured in the ricer. So each time you lift to fill, the disk comes out with mashed food and you have to place it back in. annoying and messy.
I hate this ricer
October 17, 2016
I hate this ricer. The discs do not stay in place and must be pried off of the plunger every time it is used. This is very unsanitary and unacceptable. The company has done nothing to help except to say that I should "oil the plunger" before use. A better solution should be found.
You"ll be Sorry Don't buy it
December 16, 2015
Well I gave this one star as it would not let me give it NO stars to do a review....Very disappointed. you have to pull the disc down everytime you put a potato in it. Its ridiculous...I sent Uberchef and email as they asked if I did not like the product or had questions please contact them before a bad review. I did this and no one contacted me. There is no way to lock in the disc and it creates a suction and there is no solution. Do not buy this product and I have to buy another brand which doesn't make me happy.

Flimsy. Broke after about 10 uses.
April 15, 2016
The metal connecting the pressing disc to the handle is much too thin. Mine bent when ricing potatoes. I straightened the metal as best I could using my hands, but it kept bending and soon the welds broke. See photo. I only used it about 10 times.I only used it for potatoes. I boiled them with skins on and then cut in half or quarters before putting a piece in the ricer. I never filled it very full.Nice solid handles, but the most important piece of metal -- that connecting the disc to the handle -- is too thin. Poorly designed. It's a piece of junk.
Not So Strong

My wife finally got around to using this ricer, only to have the handle bend on it. I did receive it on time, so the one star. It's in the garbage.

January 10, 2016
A picture is worth 1000 words, see and draw your own conclusions. Heavy duty is NOT what comes to mind here. Also, before this happened the interchangeable disks would not stay put, they kept getting stuck to the plunger and being pulled out every time one opened the device to add another potato.
