Sturdy and well made. July 22, 2016 This is very well made.My friends kept telling me I wouldn't like a garlic press, and that they were hard to clean. I didn't find that it was that hard to clean. After I crushed the garlic, it did get stuck in the little holes where it was pushed through, but I used a sharp knife to scrape it off and it worked like a champ. I turned it over and used my finger to scoop out the inside, I had plenty of garlic and it was finely minced. It rinsed clean with no issue.I like the peeler too, it helped to keep most of the garlic peel off my hands.I put both the press and peeler in my dishwasher silverware tray and it came out great.There are hooks on the ends of the press. There were no issues with my arthritic hands to squeeze the handles together.Love this, I've wanted one for so long. Buy it! Great stainless steel garlic press March 2, 2016 I think I accidentally three away my aluminum Zliss garlic press that I had for 30 years. I found this stainless steel garlic press on Amazon and was and am pleasently surprised with the ability of the press to mince (or press) the garlic and with the ease of clean up. The husk of the garlic seems to pop out of this stainless steel press in one fail swoop, even better than the husk came out of the Zliss. On the down side, this press is a little more bulky and is definitely heavier than the Zliss aluminum. Still, I've been getting away from aluminum cooking utinseles for years, and this UberChef Preminim Stainless steel garlic press is just the ticket. Great Garlic Press for My Needs ! February 11, 2016 This is a good garlic press, metal is heavy and appears quite durable. Arrived promptly and seller followed up with an email.The sleeve roller does peel the garlic well, but it's a bit fiddly to clean all the garlic skin off it afterward. The press takes a littlemuscle to press the garlic through [I am not the strongest kid on the block these days] but that may be because it holds a good amount [more than one average clove], so the trick may be to not overload it. I don't like the final cleaning of it however.....may just be the nature of the beast, but to get all the tiny pieces of minced garlic out takes a little time. All in all, it's a good sturdy press and that matters most. It does what it should do, make perfectly minced garlic, and doesn't look like it will fall apart anytime soon. High quality and inexpensive garlic press December 11, 2015 There seem to be a number of garlic presses all within the same price range with great reviews. I bought this one because it had the most 5 star reviews while also being the least expensive. So far it has held up to expectations. It's heavy and seems well built. The included garlic peeler is actually pretty useful. You put the garlic in the leather-like sleeve and push down on it and roll. The garlic will come out peeled. Nice product, just not for me Creamy potatoes, overall good buy December 7, 2016 I have now used this potato ricer a few times to much success and the applause from my potato-loving family. I personally enjoy the "heftiness" of the product which holds up to multiple rounds of potato ricing. The final outcome is a super smooth, creamy mashed potato. Since this is my first potato ricer, I'm not sure if it's a common problem for the disc to get stuck to the underside of the masher every time you squeeze a batch of potatoes through. It's annoying to fix the disc every time you use it, but ultimately it is well made, easy to use and does the job really well. If you're looking for a good product to make creamy mashed potatoes, this is it. It is not a bad gadget. December 2, 2016 I see what people are saying about the plate sticking, but I put the rice plate on upside down and just use a knife to separate them between presses. It's the nature of the interchangeable plates. It is not a bad gadget. Very straightforward and easy to use! November 26, 2016 The only complaint I have is that the swappable discs for the different styles of grinds don't quite stay in place, so it's a bit finicky to use for the first few squeezes before the potato starch kinda holds it in place. Woot, I'm ricing now! October 13, 2015 This is a great product. It feels very sturdy and I didn't have any reservation that the discs would bend at the pressure of ricing the potato. My only qualm is the disc sticking to the press after each ricing, prompting me to have to separating the disc from the presser at each junction. If there was a way to lock it in place it would be top notch. Clean-up is a breeze though with the separated disc. | 11% Good Press for the Price March 26, 2017 I have a similar garlic press by different manufacturer that I absolutely love. This one looks very similar to it. I purchased during lighting deal to give to a friend. The basket on this one stuck and rubbed against the press. But, they have wonderful customer service and they immediately sent me a replacement. 5 stars for service, but only 4 stars for the product. I don't think the basket mechanism (even in the replacement press) operates as smoothly as the other brand that I have. But for the lightning price I paid, it's good enough. Great duo for garlic lovers March 13, 2017 We eat a lot of garlic in my house so having one of these was a must. The peeler works well you just have to make sure you're rolling on a hard surface and the peel doesn't get built up inside so it works good every time. The peeler also washes off really easily. The mincer has a large capacity so I can put large cloves or multiple smaller ones in at the same time. I throw it in soapy water after use or open it up completely and throw it in the top rack of my washing machine. No rust, still works great. Good value! Good for my purposes to speed up prepping garlic December 16, 2016 Have tried it for about a week now and so far so good. Solid construction. For my general purposes I only do about 1 clove at a time and then rinse and it washes easily by hand (have not done a large quantity yet in one sitting so have to hold off on that feedback for now). I did get some stray pulped garlic pieces along the edges and inside the perforated basket area but can easily just flick them out/loosen them with a fingernail or small knife. It can get a bit harder for me to squeeze the handles if the garlic placed inside is on the large-side or I try to fit in a couple of pieces (as expected) -- best if piece is small enough to fit comfortably without taking up all the space inside (if clove is on the large-side I cut in half before inserting into basket). I do have petite hands so it may work more easily with average and larger hands but otherwise it's not a big deal for me. It's great! September 9, 2016 I LOVE IT......with one minor change, this could be outstanding. The piece of metal that actually does the mincing is on a hinge and then rests in a frame. It would be great if the mincing piece was attached to the frame. When I pull the presser back, the mincing part is stuck to the presser and I have to manually put it back in the frame. I hope this makes sense. It's not the end of the world but since the seller was asking for my opinion, this is my only fix. Other than that, I LOVE IT!!!! I love not having to peel the clove first! Does what it says July 9, 2015 Quick shipping, product came as described, got what I expected.Function: does what it is supposed to do, crush garlic. I like the over all design of product and was glad it came with a garlic peeler. I thought the logo/ name was a bit large design wise, but this does not affect the function. Because it is a gripping tool some sort of rubber or silicone might improve it. Again, functions as expected. Cleaning is easy enough considering all the nooks and crannies. However, I only gave it 3 stars because of the non existent customer service. On their website, they talk about a video. I contacted them twice, asking where the video is, since I wasn't sure about the need to use the cylindrical sleeve that fits into the ricer. It seems to work without it. 5 days have passed and I have received no response, although they make quite an effort to pretend to care for their customers, being a small start up company. I am not feeling the love! No manual included and the web site referenced for the ... August 28, 2017 No manual included and the web site referenced for the user does not work. Can't find a resource for a paper copy. Easy creamy mashed potatoes and more! January 28, 2017 I love my potato ricer! This unit makes making mashed potatoes a breeze! The only feature I dislike is that the disk gets stuck to the potatoes and you have to remove it and reset it every squeeze. If only there was a way to lock the disk in place! Does it's job. January 8, 2017 This gets three stars because when you use it potato squeezes out the top. Then the plate sticks to the bottom of the press and I have had to use a butter knife to unstick it to put more potatoes in. It works but is a bit of a hassle. Good for someone to see if they like using ricers for potatoes. December 10, 2016 The lever mechanic sticks, ans this hasn't been machined to be as good as you would expect. The press has a nice feel and appears to be made of good materials; BUT.... The press is advertised as easy to clean -- easier than what? The press has a basket that slides out of the main unit, but it's still a basket with four sides. I don't understand why it wasn't made so just the mesh bottom just lifted out -- now that would be easy to clean. BOTTOM LINE: This garlic press is no easier to clean than an Oxo or any of several other brands. Very disappointing. Great for garlic, doesn't work for ginger August 13, 2015 This peels and presses garlic like a champ. However the product promises the same with ginger and it takes both hands and a Herculean effort to get this thing to press ginger. The first time I tried, once I finally got the press to close over the ginger it squirted out the sides and made a mess. The second time I couldn't even get it to close all the way. If all you need to press is garlic, go for it. But for ginger I'll be sticking with my grater. Nice build but hard to clean July 1, 2015 I really like it and the build quality is great. Good feel and comfort. I would like to see the basket removable for cleaning as that would make it much easier. Food particles get caught in the seams of the basket. It is not the easiest item to clean especially with ginger. Perhaps a punch tool for cleaning would help. The "bonus" garlic peeler is basically useless. Because it is so hard to clean I hardly use it anymore. I have not used this in almost a year. It has become dead wight.I look forward to using some of their other products. As a company they appear very concerned about customer satisfaction and hope they read this.. New edit: Never heard back from them on either the product or offer to try other products so not so big on their customer satisfaction. One Star Reviews: | 3% One Star December 20, 2016 Returned the disc were sticking to the potatoes making a mess to remove it did not like No. Potatoes stick to the disc like glue and you have to break a nail to separate it from the plunger EVERY TIME you squeeze. November 28, 2016 No. The Plus - the bottom disc is exchangeable to accommodate different sized discs. HOWEVER. The Minus - That means when you squeeze the lever, those gooey, sticky mashed taters fasten that floating disc like glue to the plunger that pushes down. My husband bent back a fingernail and I lost one. We finally started using a butter knife to try to pry it off and even that was really tough and netted injuries. Whoever said you don't need to peel the potatoes was smoking something. I tried ricing my first set of unpeeled and cubed potatoes and ended up pulling hot potato peels out of the holes that had cemented shut for 5 minutes. Hardly a time saver. So, we peeled the rest of the large Thanksgiving-sized batch of potatoes and then ran them through the ricer. I had hoped this would be easier and net less sore muscles than a standard masher. Nope. I finally grabbed my husband and gave him the task of squeezing that plunger. Again the issue of the disc sticking like glue every time was insane. Seriously...we were prying it off with a knife...a knife people. Because a spoon is too thick to use as a lever in between that tiny space. A fingernail works sometimes, but is painful. If the disc was NOT removable, it would have been easier. After much, much more time than it would have taken to mash the potatoes with a traditional masher, I ended up with lumpy mashed potatoes. Granted, they were smaller lumps and my husband doesn't mind lumps, but I do. That was the whole point of the ricer. Not worth it. November 23, 2016 I thought the three different disks would be nice, unfortunately they do not sit secured in the ricer. So each time you lift to fill, the disk comes out with mashed food and you have to place it back in. annoying and messy. I hate this ricer October 17, 2016 I hate this ricer. The discs do not stay in place and must be pried off of the plunger every time it is used. This is very unsanitary and unacceptable. The company has done nothing to help except to say that I should "oil the plunger" before use. A better solution should be found.
