Five Star Reviews: | 59% Looks great, beautiful textured pattern and it feels solid December 30, 2016 Looks great, beautiful textured pattern and it feels solid, but not heavy. Nice sage hue, more greenish than grayish, not too muted and not too garish. Just a little more vivid than in the picture. Love that it came with a mechanism to protect the plant from overwatering. I also love the more unique square shape. Great looking and solid planter October 15, 2016 I now have four (4) of these planters around my house and am planning to get a couple more here soon (need to catch-up with all my cuttings). I bought my first Novelty (strange name but nothing 'novelty product' about these) at a store after many weeks of looking for a solid, simple, stone-looking planter. These things are tough thick resin and quite heavy, but much lighter than if they were real stone or concrete. They look great from afar and as long as you're not examining it from 5 inches away they can pass for a stone-like material or at least GFRC.In addition to their good looks, they have a great insert in the bottom so that it can function as a self-irrigating planter to some extent. While you cannot fill just the reservoir nor see how much water is in it, it does help to prevent water from pooling at the roots (as long as you are not over-over watering). Any slight overwatering drains into the reservoir where a plug of soil allows it to slowly wick back into the pot. There is a drain plug at that bottom too in case your plant is drowning. Great upgrade for my office snake plant October 10, 2016 Transferred a small snake plant to this planter and it has been growing like crazy. Two new stocks came out of nowhere and grew past the other stalks in just a few months. It looks great on my office desk. Really like them January 27, 2014 Works really well with the room and fits my plants really well. Not as bight as in the picture but still work well. And with the built in drainage system I don't have to sorry about leaking or over watering. Classic, gunmetal grey planters October 9, 2013 I am really happy with these planters. They look really nice. Very clean, classic lines. They arrived quickly and ready to go right out of the box. They have a water drain, which is great, so your plants won't get water logged. I bought two planters to frame my front doorway. People always compliment me on how nice they look. Great for indoor plants September 10, 2013 I use it for a large boxwood topiary inside though it would be perfect for a small pine outside even in the cold. Its made of a heavy plastic composite so It won't bend or crack, it almost looks like slate. Solid construction and has a great multilevel drainage system on the bottom. | 100% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% Looks good. August 2, 2017 I got 3 different colors and shape to put together. The green one didn't match the picture at all. It was such an ugly green so I ended up having to return all 3. Nice choice for the yard August 16, 2016 Looks great in the yard, very pretty color and nice material. Much lighter than terra cotta or ceramic. I'm going to go buy some more! Good Planter June 28, 2016 Very attractive, functional and lightweight - if they were a bit more substantial I would have rated 5 stars. I did buy a second time. Nice basic, sturdy pot July 13, 2014 Nice basic, sturdy pot..but gave it 4 stars because it wasnt the terra cotta color as depicted...more of a plywood tan. That aside, would recommend. Nice June 1, 2014 Although these are plastic you would never know it, they have a nice mottled different shades of matte gray-black gradient quality to them that appear to be slate except at only the closest inspection. I have 3 of them in a row containing tall snakeplants & they look great in a contemporary environment. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 3% It's still a nice pot though October 10, 2016 I was expecting a more traditional terra cotta pot this one seems more of a plastic material not the heavy clay I was looking for. It's still a nice pot though Great planter but Bad experience! January 2, 2014 I ordered 3 of the smaller size pots and they arrived in 1 day and were awesome! Unfortunately I then ordered 1 used one and it arrived completely broken in half. The outside packaging was not even damaged so clearly the packers had not bothered to check the quality before sending. So then I sent the broken one back and re-ordered a new one from "Tool King" and the experience has been very frustrating. They sent me a "bird bath de-icer!" instead of what I ordered and I am still trying to get it picked up and replaced with this pot. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 10% This is a beautiful pot and was exactly what I wanted October 29, 2016 This is a beautiful pot and was exactly what I wanted. However, after about 3 days of having the plant in it and watering once, a long crack in the side was revealed. Water leaks through the crack, and therefore I am going to have to find a new pot for the plant. Very disappointing. Not what i was expecting exactly, showed up broken ... March 14, 2015 Not what i was expecting exactly, showed up broken. Didn't bother trying to contact seller as it is a temporary pot and i sealed the crack to prevent leaks Chemical odor August 26, 2014 This is a decent planter but there is a strong chemical smell to it. It's plastic but it looks nice but I won't put it in the house because of the smell. Nice size, good color but surface is easily scratched. August 24, 2014 The product came scratched up, reordered and again came scratched up. Like they were stored inside each other and when pulling them apart it left marks. Insufficient packaging getting frustrating! May 5, 2014 I ordered two of these planters. They arrived in a box, with one nested into the other. The outer nested planter was cracked, so I contacted the seller. I didn't hear anything back but within a couple days another box arrived with a replacement planter, which was also broken, more severely than the last one; the whole corner is cracked off top to bottom! The planters come shipped in a cardboard box with the top edge of the planter tight to the inside of the box. Plastic air pads are stuffed INSIDE the planter, but these do not provide any sort of protection to the outer edged. The one planter I got in one piece seems to be deserving of a good review but I can't buy planting supplies until I've got two of these ready to go! Will update review when I get two whole planters. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 12% It cracked, just like the other reviews say. September 18, 2017 It cracked!! It was gorgeous and perfect until I transplanted my plant into it. I never banged it on anything. Just simply rinsed it and watered my plant once inside. Carried it back into my room and saw that the entire corner had cracked all the way down. Pretty annoyed because now I will have to re-traumatize my plant by transplanting it a second time. Should have checked the many reviews that show this as a common complaint with this item. Disappointed May 14, 2017 Disappointed; not what I was expecting. Placed in storage since returning would cost more than half the cost. Hope to find someone who may find use for them or I may donate. VERY ugly and looks exactly like it is...plastic! May 1, 2015 Looks *good* in the photo, looks like cheap plastic in person. Really, really ugly. I bought some outdoor pots from Target that have worked beautifully for 5 or 10 years in Wichita's harsh climate April 21, 2015 Some years ago, I bought some outdoor pots from Target that have worked beautifully for 5 or 10 years in Wichita's harsh climate. These Ella Planters looked similar in the photos, but are not anything like what I was hoping for. The Target pots were made of recycled plastics, with thick (about 3/8") and slightly flexible sides, and have weathered out over the years from a dark charcoal color to a nice soft gray. The Ella planters are thin and brittle plastic; I ordered two and they both arrived broken. Granted, there was not nearly enough bubble wrap in the package to protect them — the first photo shows the box as it was shipped, and there was just that little in the way of protection in the carton. The second photo shows the crack in this planter (the Ella 36128 I ordered was cracked even worse). The third photo shows the difference in wall thickness between my old Target planter and the cheesy Ella planter. Elegant junk. August 21, 2014 Pots were planted for about a week and developed major cracks on the corners. Look nice, but are manufactured poorly. Would not recommend. Not good August 12, 2012 Every one of these arrived either cracked or broken. They were jammed into the boxes so tight together there were difficult to separate. Little or no packing material in the boxes. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
