Sturdy and useful!
September 21, 2016
I got this for my mother for christmas last year and, she loves it! We have both used it a few times to make mashed potatoes and they are smoother than ever. When i first decided to order the ricer i was worried it would break due to the fact that is made out of plastic. But it's very strong it should hold up for a long time.its VERY easy to clean all i do is remove the strainer rinse of the potato scrub it a bit and let it dry with the main body of the ricer I rinse it out and scrub it thoroughly and let it dry and it only takes a few minutes.Overall I, think this product is useful, sturdy, easy to clean making it worth the money!
Excellent Product!

Excellent product, well made, and not huge...exactly what I was looking for! I use it to press noodles into boiling water and it works very, very well.

works great, plastic is stronger than the stainless steel model I tried before this, it bent on first use. Have used this several times for mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, squash for soups...cleans up and stores easily.
Great product!

This is a great tool. I don't have babies, but I love potatoes & such. The only thing that I would add is that you must use it with hot or warm potatoes. I tried it on a cold cooked sweet potato and it didn't work very well at all. I haven't tried it on veggies yet, but I'm sure it will be fine.

This thing is awesome!!!
July 27, 2016
Ok, where to start..... The wife and I had a cheap Target masher. It looked cool. Chrome handle black plastic masher. It worked ok. But it wasn't right. Work verses reward was off. You mash and mash and the consistency wasn't right. I've seen these used on the food network and was like those are cool. But never pulled the trigger on one. So i was tired and getting angry with the mashing outcome. So while i was mashing i took a break. Looked up ricers on Amazon and a few days later it showed up. My wife and kids looking at me like I was a dork. I was stoked!!! Fast forward to go time. Boiled up some potatoes. Opened up this master piece of genius. Placed a few pieces of potato in the ricer and squeezed. OMG a thing of beauty. Did it again and and again. Soon the bowl was full of perfect potatoes. Added butter, garlic, salt, pepper and more butter. FLUFFY potatoes. I love this thing!!! Kicking myselfin the ass for not getting one sooner.
Make the fluffiest mashed potatoes in a snap with this ricer
March 18, 2016
I've used my PriorityChef Potato Ricer and Masher several times and I'm extremely pleased with its performance. I had always heard that ricing cooked potatoes before mashing them made them lighter and fluffier vs. mashing them, and since my husband loves mashed potatoes I finally decided to give ricing a try. What a difference! I've riced boiled white potatoes, sweet potatoes, and a combination of the two, as well as carrots and parsnips (which make a delicious puree). I like bits of potato skin in my mashed potatoes, so I just peel the potatoes, rice them, chop up the peel and stir it in along with my butter, milk, salt and pepper (and, depending on the day, sauteed onions or shallots or fresh dill weed). Just perfect!Since potato starch and water are often mixed for homemade glue, I knew to wash out my potato ricer immediately after using it, before the remaining traces of potato had a chance to harden. Clean up was quick and easy - just a few swishes with a soapy sponge under running water. (If you don't want to wash it right away, I highly recommend letting it soak in a large bowl of water until you're ready.)I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and with the excellent customer service and communication.
Took the to the next level
January 8, 2016
My wife's mashed potatoes have always been outstanding. I didn't think they could be improved. But she saw this being used on a cooking show, and we decided to get it. We all agreed that it resulted in mashed potatoes that were fluffier and even better than before. This ricer is well made and feels solid. It requires a bit of muscle, but the results are well worth it. It definitely lives up to its hype and good reviews.
This Ricer is a wonderful replacement and I am now a convert
November 6, 2015
I used to make mashed potatoes using my Kitchenaid mixer or a masher for smaller batches. This Ricer is a wonderful replacement and I am now a convert! It is very easy to use, faster cleanup. I bought this mainly for making baby food (avocados, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, green peas, steamed apples, carrots, chayotes, hard boiled eggs, etc). I bought a 1 qt steamer along with this Ricer. I will be taking it with me on our family travels and still be able to provide healthy eating for the family.
Well made press
October 27, 2015
I use this for quite a few things: press water or oil out of canned tuna, press ice cream to make spaghetti ice, press soft boiled potatoes ect. This is the best press I have owned yet. There are no holes on the sides to squirt tuna juce all over the place. The handle is very strong so I dont think it will bend. It is stainless steel not cheap chrome plated tin that eventually rusts. ( like my last one did).
My Favorite New Kitchen Toy
July 27, 2015
My family loves the light fine texture of riced white or sweet potatoes without skin or long fibers. This device consistently delivers perfect results. Always start with well-cooked potatoes with or without skins. Hot potatoes are the easiest, while cold cooked potatoes take a bit more pressure on the ricer handles. If using potatoes with skin, halve each potato and place it cut *flesh side down* against the mashing grid holes. I leave the skins on because they remain in the ricer against the pushing paddle and are easily wiped away after each use. Any skins that get down against the grid holes can be easily swiped out with a small flat ended spatula. It’s quick and easy especially for those who dislike peeling. When finished, scrape the outside of the ricer with a flat edge to get all of the potato onto the serving dish. It’s a breeze to rice a single potato half onto an individual serving plate. I would recommend ricing into a tall steady pot or dish that can be used for a bit of leverage when pushing it closed. I would rice up to five pounds of potatoes unless there are extra helpers in the kitchen. This ricer would be great for preparing baby food or for those who struggle to chew. (I did try to rice firm cooked cauliflower without success, but this isn’t a food processor and you can’t do everything with it) It’s also great for squeezing the liquid out of spinach for use in Spinach dip. This tool doesn‘t seem to bother my semi arthritic hands, but I’m rather strong, and honestly, it is my favorite new kitchen toy. I usually rinse it by hand, but have also washed it in the top rack of the dishwasher once. I use it weekly. My family was thrilled with the riced potatoes for our last holiday dinner.

Perfect potatoes!
February 15, 2016
I have wanted a potato ricer forever and finally found this one. It does what it's supposed to do, makes fluffy, lump free potatoes. I would not recommend leaving the peeling on the potatoes as they will clog the holes and it's harder than you think to squeeze the ricer's handles together if you have small hands. But, all in all, it's a lot more fun than mashing up a pot!
If you can mash it, you can rice it
December 20, 2015
This piece is a little larger than I thought it would be, but it works as expected. I normally cut potatoes in quarters so they cook faster. I was able to fit 4-5 pieces at a time and even ran the butter through it with the potatoes. You get tiny even strings of potato. The benefit is that your mashed potatoes don't come out gluey from over mashing with a traditional potato masher. I can see using this also for homemade applesauce and if you have babies, use it to make homemade baby food!

Makes great mashed potatoes. I no longer use a hand mixer just a good wire whip.
Good design, well made.

The only thing that wasn't perfect is that there were no instructions for care and use in or on the package. It said online that the ricer can be washed in the dishwasher, but I would like to see it in black and white.
Weak potato ricer, Awesome tator masher!!
September 30, 2016
Originally bought it as a potato ricer but a cheese cloth works just as well but dang it if it dont make yo mashed tators fluffy as duck. Only reason you dont get 5 is because there was no silver lining in its alternative use because I can only mash tators a small amount at a time. :(
Very happy with my new ricer
September 21, 2016
nice quality and rugged design.easy clean-up because it is made from stainless steel.I have used it several times in the 2 weeks i have had it.Make sure you slightly overcook whatever you are ricing to get a super smooth consistency.Make sure don't fill to the top as you will have a slight spillover around the edge of the plunger.
serves function
November 28, 2015
Serves it's function very well. Supposedly stainless steel, so it won't rust. But I've only had it a few months. I used to try making gnocchi by just used a potato masher. They never turned out right. I use this now and my gnocchi are perfect every time! My main gripe is that the lever is a little flimsy, so it clangs around very easily. Other than that, it serves its function excellent.
Love it
October 26, 2015
Works great. The only suggestion I can make, it to have holes on the sides as well as the bottom to allow more potatoes to be pushed thru. It does take awhile to do a few potatotes. It makes very fluffy mashed potatoes and I would recommend this product to anyone.

messy, kind of flimsy
November 29, 2016
I bought this to strain seeds out of berries, with the idea that I could use the pureed fruit in yogurt, etc even though I can't cope with the seeds any more. It does sort of work for that purpose, but it's very messy and I was afraid I was going to break the handles if I really mashed down on them hard enough to force the food through the strainer.

March 1, 2016
I was hopeful for this product to work out well. I have tried it a couple times but find that its too much to pull out and then have to clean the parts when I am done. I am not sure how well it would hold up over time. It is made from plastic although the ricing screens are metal. It is not a tool I reach for in my kitchen.
Be careful ...very sharp edges
February 23, 2016
I used this item for the first time last night to make mashed potatoes. I must admit, I've never made them like this. They were lump free and the texture was so smothered. Just amazing. I would've gave 5 stars but let me explain why I didn't. As I was removing the metal disks from the plastic, one of the disks sliced my finger open. It is so sharp. I didn't expect this. All I did was grab it to rinse. And it immediately cut me. I was ready excited to use this product with my 2.5 year old. He helps me cook sometimes. I wanted to let him mash for me. But after this experience I will be hiding this thing. Bummer!

Perhaps I didn't realize it all had to e cooked before pressing through? Lousy for hash browns I never did them before having cooked them first. That's potatoe cakes..... Feel I should not have purchased this one at all. Waste of my money.
Any kind of mixer would be better, faster and less messy .. very disapointed !
December 1, 2016
Any kind of mixer would be better, faster and less messy .. very disappointed ! I dont know how other opinions could vary so much... So I cooked the potato's after peeling them so they cook faster. Feed them into this Ricer .. and potatoes squeezed out the sides and as I opened it to feed more potatoes in managing those squeezed out the sides potatoes was not easy and was messy with potatoes falling out on the stove and lumpy potatoes mixed in falling into the newly rices potatoes making what after all that ? yeah, lumpy potatoes the whole point of using this ricer. Then to top it off there was a layer of lumpy potatoes that did not get riced no matter how much I squeezed maker even more lumpy potatoes. This is a big pain in the rear. Using a stand mixer you use on the counter or getting out a hand mixer and washing a couple beater bars is much easier and provides more fluffy non lumpy potatoes. To bad my Kitchen aid is on the fritz. Yeah, and I cook... so, not sure .. but its certainly not for me. See pics... ...And O, not very strong plastic and I can see it breaking sooner than later at the rivet point you can see where there is pressure each time you push down with some force to make it squeeze through the ricer.
Dissapointing Performance
October 18, 2016
I was using it to "rice" soft tofu today. The handles flexed and gave. This means I'm scared to use it on anything harder than pre-mushed, mush AND imagine the potential strength lost when there is reduced leverage. A firm, hard handle would produce more leverage, making the task easier and faster. I don't always use a dishwasher, and this ricer is bulky and unwieldy to wash by hand. There was a jagged plastic edge I had to remove before using (Can't have sharp plastic in my family's meal, can I?). Overall, it's cheap and I wasted my money. I do not see this lasting long with normal use.
This is a pretty large food press
June 1, 2016
This is a pretty large food press, and it's not the most beautiful kitchen tool. For some reason I was expecting it to be a little heavier duty, maybe because it is so big. My husband also managed to bend one of the metal plates the first time he used it, so now we don't have the largest ricer size available to use anymore. We got it to mash up baby food, but it turns out my baby doesn't really like pureed/mashed foods... she likes small bite size pieces that she can pick up and feed herself, so we don't even use as much as I thought we would. All in all, this purchase didn't turn out the way I hoped it would. Oh well!

Messy and not fully sealed!!
May 24, 2016
Messy - whenever you try to rice a potato, about 30% of it gets around and above the ricer because it is not fully sealed.
Stop asking me for a review. You may not like the reply.
March 30, 2016
The seller has emailed me several times asking for a review. OK, it's mediocre at best. The shape of the plunger allows for a lot of material to pass around the outside. The hopper is small, and the handles are just OK. The holes are big, and the spuds don't get very smooth. It does the job, but you need to further mash the potato's to make them smooth.

The ricer is inconvenient, messy, and doesn't work.
February 9, 2017
I've tried to like this ricer, but I just can't. I tried to make cranberry sauce, applesauce, and last night potato gnocchi. I gave it a chance. Trying to press the cooked food through the ricer yields the same disappointing mess. The food inconveniently gets stuck in the press even using the largest disc, coming out of the sides rather than going through the ricer. If anything comes out at all. I've tried using smaller pieces of cooked food and get the same result. I had to press so hard that the handles bend, which is rendered more difficult with the messy process since food inevitably gets all over my hands.I also sliced my fingers on the sharp sides of the metal discs. With all the nooks in the handle it's a total nightmare to clean to boot. I'm tossing this one in my recycling bin. Good riddance!!!
