Five Star Reviews: | 85% Solved my tire rotation problem August 21, 2017 The folks that had been rotating my tires had been a little sloppy, and when I took over tire rotation, I could not remove some of the damaged lug nuts. This set fixed the problem. The 7/8" socket fit the nuts that used to be 21mm, and I was able to finish the job. These are well made, and I expect to be happily using them for years to come. Very Pleased!! June 30, 2017 Some people like myself assume the factory jack and lug wrench works on their wheels. My truck had aftermarket wheels installed from the dealer. It never crossed my mind that the lug wrench installed on the truck would not fit inside the opening for the lug nuts. Luckily I discovered this while attempting maintenance and not stranded on the side of the road. The sockets are thinner than your average impact socket allowing them to fit into smaller diameter holes that a lot of the aftermarket wheels have. With all that being said these universal lug sockets are great. I use them with a 24" breaker bar and an impact wrench. I've had no problems at all. Excellent quality and value! May 26, 2017 These flip sockets are very good quality made in Taiwan and come in a nice blow molded fitted plastic case that keeps everything together and organized. Would highly recommend them to anyone who rotates their own tires at home. Awesome set for any with an impact wrench and a vesicle December 18, 2016 It would have been nice if the size markings were inscribed as well, because one of the flip sockets' surface size mark was scraped off upon first use due to rub against surrounding metal surface. That is not to say the size marking quality is defective, but only to point out that with use and abuse tools get scraped and scratched, so inscription and embossing marks - which are the conventional practices are guaranteed to last the lifetime of tools.Still, I give it 5 stars because it's a set that is very well designed (flip sockets), product quality and convenient compact carrying case. Recommend for anyone with impact wrench and a vehicle. Nice set of wheel sockets May 17, 2016 This impact set for wheels is great. The sockets are smaller than normal impact sockets so it doesn't scratch wheels up as much. The smooth paint coating also helps. This set includes 6 sizes and should work for most normal car and truck wheels. The included "extension" piece isn't really an extension. You need that to use the socket. longer 1/2 extensions will also work if you need them for your application. Awsome little socket set!! These sockets very well made. | 71% Glad I made the purchase September 11, 2017 I bought this torque wrench for re-assembling the rear end of my '90 BMW. That included the axle carrier, the differential, axles, etc. It worked fine and I have no issues with it. I'm glad I had it, It feels strong and sturdy and looks like it will last. The blow molded case is good. The price is nice to boot. I agree with reviewers who have noted that the surface condition of the wrench, especially the head, is less than shiny and polished. I guess that's just because as they are manufactured they drop into bins and roll around with other heads and parts. I dunno. I see this as a non-issue really, minor annoyance at most. Another top notch tool offered at a great price from a great company. You honestly can't go wrong here. May 24, 2017 As stated in other reviews, tools from TEKTON are fantastic. They stand behind them with the best warranty and offer top notch customer service. I've only read about the customer service, and not had to deal with them directly. I fully expect these tools to last a lifetime.This torque wrench is accurate, and dependable for many of the tasks most people need. Sure, the black portion isn't the prettiest, but it functions well and appears to be repeatable. Overall, this is another top notch tool offered at a great price from a great company. You honestly can't go wrong here. Great Torque Wrench May 23, 2017 It's a very well built torque wrench with a nice, solid feel. The quality is much better than the price suggests.I have a few other Tekton tools as well, and they are all also great quality for the price.I use this for car repairs and maintenance, tightening wheel lugs, etc., and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. Comes with a very nice hard case to protect it when not in use. Just remember to release the tension when not in use by setting it to the minimum torque.I would definitely recommend it. Tekton-best customer service ever April 23, 2017 The tool comes in a plastic sheath, in a hard plastic red case with an instruction manual, in a standard marketing box. The packaging is solid. The instructions even provide a link to a YouTube video clearly explaining the operation of the wrench.I had to buy a replacement. The first one I was sent didn't work for some reason. I overtorqued a bolt which I later discovered had sheared off during driving. I emailed tekton' customer support line. They responded quickly, within an hour, and end up sending me a replacement free of charge.The replacement worked flawlessly. I've used it several times. I liked the wrench a lot, but I was so impressed with their customer service that I also bought a 3/8" drive wrench, as well as several wrench and socket sets from tekton. Tekton Torque Wrench September 6, 2015 I just got mine yesterday and honestly I'm a bit disappointed the way it looks, I posted a few photos of the product and the two screws were over torque from what it looks like (is that normal?). The handle got scratches all over it and a small chip and feels sharp enough to cut me. I do not usually post bad review but I was let down on this one, I was hoping to get more stuff from tekton but I surely learn my lesson about tools over the internet. I will keep it though because I don't like to waste my time sending it back.Update 9/18/2015I got my replacement yesterday and I'm really satisfied on how Russ from Tekton took care of this, I asked how to return the other original item and instead let me hang on to it. You guys just won another customer and like I said I have more on my wish list under Tekton product but I want to see how this transaction goes. I am not a big fan of online purchase but definitely gave me a confidence ordering tools from Tekton. Four Star Reviews: | 11% Versatile and compact lug nut socket set. April 15, 2017 This set of lugnut sockets looks nice and is a great addition to any toolset. These will pretty much cover you for all passeneger cars and trucks. My only gripe is toyota lugnuts get stuck in the 21mm socket sometimes and i have to knock them out with a 3/8 extension A good deal I think March 20, 2017 A good deal I think. a socket for all your lug nut needs. I haul a fifth wheel trailer with my dually 1 ton truck. This tool coupled with a dewalt 18v impact make short work out of an otherwise tedious job. It's one of those tools you don't need often, but glad you got it when you do need it. Almost, not quite. October 7, 2016 Good quality. Not as thin as Gorilla thin wall chrome sockets. Handy little kit though. These will not work with my oversized McGard tough nuts, and Kosei wheels. They do work with standard OEM lugnuts on the same wheels. This would be perfect if they were a thinner wall. Good product with nice carry case March 18, 2016 Good product with nice carry case. I just wish the middle of these sockets were flush with the socket size. Because of the wider center I can not use these on after market wheels with small lug nut holes where a thin wall socket is needed. Black Finish, Chrome Moly Steel, For Impact Wrench (And Ratchet Wrench) February 3, 2016 - Three (3) flip sockets provide 6 sizes - for me, the 17mm/19mm for my Euro wheel lugs.- Made from Chrome Moly Cr-M steel (compared to Chrome Vanadium Cr-V for hand ratchet sockets) -- Cr-M is more expensive, better for higher torque of impact wrenches and won't shatter compared to Cr-V which is hard but brittle and shatters when broken. Therefore, fit for impact wrench means they're also suitable for hand wrench like breaker bars & torque wrenches.- Finished nicely in black, but as tools they will be abrased with use.- 1/2" drive shaft fits into the middle of each socket, giving overall length of about 4" (sockets are about 3" tall), and provides enough standoff distance to use a torque wrench for wheel lugs to avoid scratching car fender when pushing/pulling wrench.- Tekton says extension doesn't effect torque reading as extension doesn't absorb torque.- If using impact wrench, this is what you need (Cr-M steel). For general purposes, a Cr-V socket set (about 10 sizes) + 3" extension may be more versatile for about $25.- Made in Taiwan. Comes with nice, red hard plastic (spaced) storage case. Torque specs in general are not all that close. I remember when I was a youngster our spec was "2 hammers tight" . If you lay awake at night thinking you might of torqued a head bolt a lb or two tight this isn't for you. Seems Good July 27, 2017 Good for the price point. They feel and look like a quality tool. They worked just as well as my father's $200+ tools. I was disappointed that the increment torque dial numbers discolored so quickly. No big deal but I thought "I hope these tools work well for as many years as my father's" When it locks properly this is a really easy to use wrench and it's a good physical size ... July 10, 2017 The adjuster works ok but sometimes it's difficult to get it to lock down properly. When it locks properly this is a really easy to use wrench and it's a good physical size making it pretty easy to get into most tight spots (as much as expected with a large wrench). 1/2" Drive 10-150 ft-lb Torque Wrench June 22, 2017 First, I'll say that I have been blown away with the quality vs. price point for Tekton tools. After buying a house, I have been slowly (not according to my wife) adding/upgrading my tools and Tekton has become a go to. With that said, the 1/2 inch torque wrench arrived looking like it had been banging around someone's shop for a couple weeks as other reviews have mentioned. I don't think I received a used or damaged product, but the finish leaves a little to be desired. I've bought Tekton 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 socket sets and 1/4 and 3/8 torque wrenches on top of their other tools all from Amazon and everything has looked brand new/polished and worked flawlessly so far. I think my experience with the finish on this 1/2 inch torque wrench is an anomaly, but worth noting since it is consistent with other reviews. However, I will not hesitate to buy Tekton in the future as I think they are great tools for the serious home DIYer. Good torque wrench. April 24, 2017 Works as it should but the finish looks like it is scratched or had been used. I read another review on Home Depot's site saying the same thing. I contacted Tekton, they said everything is new and the clear finish looks that way from the factory. There should be better quality control in manufacturing. Good deal for the price. I can't get them to fit on some cars that have smaller bolt holes on their rims. It's hard to determine if I'm on the correct weight, so I find myself adding an extra 5 pounds to make sure. The lock comes loose often unless I tighten it with a chuck. Overall, I wish I had bought a more refined tool. Good for tightening lug nuts. Average May 10, 2017 Very average lower end torque wrench. The fit and finish are on par with the Harbor Freight torque wrench. In this category this wrench is inferior to the Kobalt and Sears at this price point. The functionality is ok but not sure about durability or longevity. I bought this because of the positive reviews but clearly would not buy again. Very disappointed in the product! Works April 17, 2017 Wasn't all it was cracked up to be. There isn't a sound or anything that allows you to know you've hit the benchmark of torque which kind of blow but for all intensive purposes this worked well as a breaker bar of sorts. Should've tried it out when I first bought it. October 11, 2016 UPDATE 10/12/16: I contacted TEKTON and their customer service is amazing and responsive. I told the representative my problem and am awaiting a replacement. I'll update after I get the replacement. So far, their customer service is definitely top rated.It's sat in my car since I bought it back in March 2015. So it's been a little over 1.5 years since I've owned it. The adjusting mechanism was very rough, and when adjusting to the upper end of the range, difficult.I was looking for something less expensive than the professional tools and have had good luck with Tekton in the past. Unfortunately this tool didn't inspire confidence. I also felt that over time the rough adjustment would wear on my nerves.If you need this for extremely seldom use, or rough difficult adjustment doesn't bother you, it probably serves it's function just fine. I have yet to be able to detect the normal clicking sound you would expect to hear when the selected torque is reached. The instructions indicate that when low torque setting is selected to move the wrench slowly in order to detect when the appropriate torque is reached. Even doung so I have been unable to detect when the appropriate torque spec is reached. I had much better luck with a harbor freight torque wrench. April 25, 2016 I purchased good quality, but not exotic, rims from Tire Rack and this drive lug set seemed perfect...until I used them. Given that the "flip", apparent universal design allows TEKTON to save on material, it would have been nice if they had put some of that material into making the sockets long enough to not damage rims. Instead, the lug I used chewed up parts of my brand new rims. Not as advertised, Buyer beware, Poor Customer Service!! August 18, 2014 Not as advertised - claims to be a thin wall socket and it's not!!! Does not fit my application and the seller would not take back the item. Buyer beware, read the fine print. October 11, 2017 Tekton is normally on my good side. But this torque wrench is a completely different story. I used it for about 3 months and it was alright, I could tell it wasn't made well. But one day I was adjusting it and it literally just fell apart. The entire assembly that is inside the handle came out the bottom and rendered it totally useless... Tekton does offer a lifetime warranty but I just went to O'Riley and bought myself a non-adjustable, mechanical torque wrench. I would recommend that anyone reading this do the same! Mine Cannot Go Past 90 ft-lbs August 15, 2017 The moment I got this Torque Wrench, I was excited to use it. I unlocked the nut on the bottom and turned the twist knob but was met with stiff resistance all the way through. I could not even get past 90 ft-lbs before it just got stuck there. Disappointed, turned it back down to zero and was surprised to see it give away and slip past zero into the zone where you should not go lower.This is my first torque wrench, but I excepted it to be easier to use and handle.
