| WorksAugust 19, 2016 Works as described and seems to be of good quality. I have only used it once. Not giving it 5 stars because there is a lot of waste with a mandolin if you use the protective piece you place the food onto before slicing. Would NEVER use a mandolin without this protection, however, so the waste is just part of the deal. This is a problem with all mandolins, though. All in all this seems to live up to its description. Even the thickest one is too thin. I thought it would have a thicker slice. However, if you like thin slices this is great! It even has a grater board, plus it juliennes. | Won't handle the tough jobs...October 10, 2016 Would not slice sweet potatoes with the 7mm blade. Potatoes would hang up half way thru the blade and not completely cut thru the potato. I have a very old The Frugal Gourmet mandolin slicer that handled the potatoes with no problem. The frame got a crack in it and I needed to replace the Frugal Gourmet one. This one didn't do the job. Defective? No instructions. Blades stick up PAST the top of the mandolin!January 14, 2016 I'm sure the makers of this thought it was self-explanatory and that no instructions or directions were necessary, but I don't know why my blades stick up where my fingers go. Maybe mine are defective. I haven't used them yet because I don't know why the blades should stick up PAST the top of the mandolin! ummmmSeptember 27, 2015 did not like this mandolin I felt very unsafe cutting with it. it came to me used, the v blade was a little bent, and also underside where te rivets are were a little rusted. I sent back, I do not like it.July 23, 2015 Thickness of the cut was not accurate on the mandoline slicer that I received. The thickest was approximately 1 cm and the thinnest was paper thin. Too bad a product is only as good as its weakest link. In this case the tines (spelling?) on the device that holds the object you're slicing. Most have broken off after only a handful of gentle uses. Price: ThumbDecember 1, 2015 So this is an effective slicer...so effective that it took part of my thumb off (when the guard came flying off the potato I was slicing). A $650 emergency bill later, it's effectively in the trash. Proceed with caution. Item Broke on Second UseSeptember 14, 2015 Very disappointed. The unit malfunctioned the second time I used it - the black holder that serves to "hold" the vegetable during slicing came apart while trying to slice a sweet potato. The sharp pins that are supposed to hold the vegetable came out of the black holder and made it unusable.
