Good quality product and good ankle support
July 23, 2017
The product is really good. It does feel like I get a really good ankle stability support. It does require a little bit of time to break in and get used to, but it's a great product overall. It does make the shoes a little bulky but it's okay if you're just going to use that shoes for that specific sport. I play volleyball and sprained my left ankle. Now, I wear this with my volleyball shoes. The product is so good, I ended up buying another pair for my right foot just to keep it safe from ankle sprain.
The best ankle brace out there for sports
July 13, 2017
The best ankle brace out there for sports, I used to wear 2 ankle braces on the same foot, but this accomplishes more for m than using 2. Be warned though that you will have to loosen your shoe so that your foot would fit, however thats to be expected.
Lots of support, lasts a long time.
April 30, 2017
My son has used these ankle braces for about 3 years after a bad ankle sprain in basketball. He played year-round on highly competitive teams for four years, using it for 3. The first one lasted about 2 years! These offer quite a bit of stability. My son did have to make sure shoes would fit over it as a few styles didn't. There were a few shoes I didn't think it could possibly fit and it was just fine! Highly recommend!
Ol' Reliable
January 13, 2015
I ordered this brace because I injured my ankle while training and lifted some heavy weight off a squat track wrong which resulted in some prolonged ankle soreness.

I've had bad ankles from playing offensive line in high school and having level 1-3 tendon tears in my ankles from those years past, I used to have two of these back then but lost them when I moved out of my parents house way back when. I can say that this is by far a great brace because the fit is snug and during my most recent injury my ankle has pain in the front that gives me pain when I'm on my feet for too long or walking a lot (live in a metropolitan city so I do a lot of walking). Since using this brace it has mitigated that pain because it is snug enough that it isolates where my pain is and allows me to walk normally and without a limp.

Comfort wise the brace is snug. I usually run a 9.5-10 shoe and in my walking shoes it fits fairly well an 8/10 fit, in my dress shoes for work it fits very good 10/10 but I do need to use a shoe horn to slip into my shoes. I ordered a medium in this case.

Practical usage of the brace when I'm walking home or to work it gives me maximum comfort and helps me forget that my ankle even hurts. When I'm training I don't feel any pain either but I'm not lifting with as heavy weights until I heal up. The support given in my opinion is around the 9-10/10 mark just because of the isolation during walking motions and the stability offered on the sides. When I'm on the bus standing up I can balance myself if there's weird motions as opposed to hopping about looking to grab onto something for support, and I can also jump 2 stairs at a time without worrying about pain from stressing it in different motions.

As far as putting the brace on or taking it off it is fairly straight forward. The side bands that form a figure 6 (I think it's mentioned in the description) help to provide that motion stability I mentioned previously, and the top bands that secure around the laces are all straightforward in attaching and removing. The laces and brace itself does run slightly tighter and more snug than any other brace, so you'll need to spend some additional time with that portion of it. If you have swelling then this could be good for mitigating the swelling (not a doctor or health professional) but if you're pain adverse then I'd exercise caution just because of how snug the brace can be.

Overall 5 stars because I'm familiar with the product and it does as advertised and it is not a cheaply built neoprene sleeve.
Maximum support
April 30, 2011
If you sprained your ankle, this product will stabilize your ankle to allow it to heal properly or allow you to participate in activities with a weaker than normal ankle. As a young kid I neglected to take care of my ankles. After spraining my ankle playing basketball, I would simply tighten up my shoes and continue playing through the pain. I am experiencing the repercussions now and regret doing so... As with all injuries, give your ankle/foot injury proper time to heal. This product will help those ankle sprains heal faster by minimizing the movement of the ankle. The laces allow you to adjust the tightness of the brace. I no longer play basketball but I would imagine that this brace will provide the stability needed for a weak ankle while sacrificing a little bit of mobility and agility.

Great support
May 17, 2017
Great product. I had surgery on my right ankle almost early teens so I have many issues if jogging too much or placed in a wrong position while sleeping. ASO ankle stabilizer does a wonderful job keeping my ankle in line and provides efficient support. I mostly wear it at night so my ankle doesn't twist or bend at an awkward angle but I would this any time I have any discomfort.

Once the ankle stabilizer is secured in place, it works very well. It is comfortable to wear inside of most shoes and provides secure ankle stabilization. I walked alot on vacation recently and it really helped my recently healed broken ankle feel secure.
Recommend for Ankle Fracture Recovery
August 12, 2016
After my cast was removed, from a surgical repair for a triple ankle fracture, with dislocation, I used the ASO ankle stabilizer instead of the walking boot. This stabilizer is the same one offered at my Orthopedic surgeon's offer, at a fraction of their price. This brace is comfortable, easy to adjust and it washes well, I would recommend the ASO stabilizer for ankle injury recovery.
Best ankle brace! (and I've tried many)
June 7, 2016
This brace is great. I broke my ankle around 6 years ago in a high school lacrosse game, and have had issues with the ankle ever since. I wore various casts for around a year and went to PT for a little while but never did the exercises at home (didn't realize I'd start slowing down a little bit in my twenties lol). My ankle still aches sometimes and it gives out easily and rolls a lot. My doctor said that ankle injuries almost never heal 100%, and you can lose the elasticity of the tendons in your ankle, leaving them perma-wobbly. SO, I need some support when I run. I have tried more minimalistic braces, but they usually don't give the right amount of support. This brace works so well for two reasons: 1. the laces (yes, annoying and less attractive, but it makes all the difference. This also ensures that the brace will be tight enough even if you order one a little too big). 2. The side straps (totally immobilize your ankle to keep it straight and at a 45 degree angle, which is essential for healing). This brace is exactly the same as the one that my doctor gave me after I got out of the casts, so it's practically medical grade. I got the white one because it looks better with my running shoes. I was worried about it getting gross but the box says you can machine wash the brace. I wear a 6.5 women's shoe (U.S.), and I ordered a small. Fits perfectly. The sizing chart on the box is slightly different from the one posted here so I'll include a picture of that. Perfect overall for serious stability. Probably too constricting for someone looking for light or moderate support.
Amazing fix for my flat feet
March 4, 2016
I know it's not exactly the intended purpose, but it works. Having flat feet means my ankle joints are rolled inward a lot (pronated). This isn't a problem for everyone that has it, but it makes my ankles have chronic pain of various levels. Usually not too bad, but after a day of walking or standing all day, it's debilitating. I discovered that forcibly holding my feet in a normal shape (holding the arch up) results in less pain over time, but that's really hard to do all day every day. So I thought these might help. Boy, do they ever! The very first day I worked in the yard all day long without a bit of pain at the time or the next day (which is usually the worst part). Walking on rough ground used to be awful, a small rock or hole unexpectedly changing my ankle angle side to side would almost bring me to the ground, and it seemed these events accumulated throughout the day into severe pain. With these braces on, that is virtually eliminated. I could probably jog on a gravel road. The ankles cannot get moved enough to hurt. And on top of all that, they're actually comfortable. I don't even want to take them off at the end of the day. Obviously they aren't intended for long term all day use, but I don't see how it could be worse than what I was experiencing. I'll probably end up only wearing them when my ankles are hurting or when I do activities that would otherwise cause them to hurt. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem I do, but I hope my insight helps. I can't recommend them enough.
Best for weak ankles recovering from bad sprains
November 6, 2015
I sprained my ankle so badly and when I was ready to put pressure on it again I bought this wrap. I went off the recommendations here. I will add my 5 stars to this. Unlike other bandages this one has 3 ways to secure your ankle and make it feel super stabilized. Even the orthopedist I saw said that it most closely resembled the ones the offer at his office. It's not a super low profile but it will fit in your sneaker. Probably not a flat or boot. Id use an ace wrap for that.

Skateboarding
September 29, 2017
My grandson (18yrs) using these for skateboarding to reduce ankle injuries. It seems to work because he hasn't had a new ankle injury in the several years he's been using. They do wear out on heels and need to be replaced, but they put up with hard wear. Very washable in washing machine.
Great brace for post-surgery support
July 19, 2017
I bought this brace to use as support following ankle surgery. Four weeks post-surgery, I was moved to a boot but I wanted work on my strength and range of movement when at home and the boot was too restrictive. Although able to hobble around without the boot, I found that having a supportive wrap was much more helpful. I decided to order a brace because it seemed easier than continually wrapping and unwrapping my ankle. Based on the description and reviews, this on seemed to be a good fit for what I needed. The brace is sturdy and seems well-made. The brace fits well and the laces allow you to adjust how tight or loose the fit is. It provides me with the support I was looking for but still allows some flexibility in my ankle. Although almost as flexible, I found that I had less of a limp in my gait when wearing the brace compared to the wrap. The only con is that the material is very rough and uncomfortable against my skin and the eyelet seams run right along my surgery scars; however, adding a thin sock under the brace completely solved that problem. The photo on the box it comes in show it being worn with a sock so maybe that is the how it is designed to be worn. Plus the sock will help keep the brace cleaner, so I would probably wear one anyway.
These provide great support and don't crush my arches
July 27, 2016
I've sprained my ankles 4 times in the last year playing basketball, so i decided it was finally time to get some braces. These provide great support and don't crush my arches. While they do take several minutes to put on and take off, they aren't too bulky. I originally thought that they would restrict my movement too much and i wouldn't be able to jump as high, but I haven't found that to be a problem. The first time i wore these, i ended up getting blisters on the back of my heel, but after the first couple of wears, i think they're broken-in enough that they don't really chafe anymore. I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're comfortable, but the mild discomfort is a small price to pay for the support. Overall, I'd definitely recommend these.
Excellent support for ankle with osteo-arthritis
January 5, 2016
I started out with a nylon strap style ankle brace. It helped some, but my osteo-arthritis afflicted ankle needed much more support. I ordered the McDavid lace up style and it was exactly what I needed. I don't even limp with this on. It supports my ankle almost as if it were a splint, but it's light and comfortable. My only caveat is that my feet are on the wide side, so if I had it to do over again I would order the large size for my size 10.5 foot. It would save me some time lacing up. I highly recommend this ankle support. It's well made and looks like it will last for years.
lets try this and WOW am I glad I did
December 13, 2015
Was a bit skeptical to get a ankle brace to be honest, I wear the Lebron XII sneakers for basketball and they are as supportive as they come..... I sprained my ankle just enough to keep me from playing and as I get older, I figured, why not, lets try this and WOW am I glad I did, I can not believe how secure this was on my ankle to keep it in place and allow me to cut and move side to side as if nothing had happened, I was shocked how amazing this was. I am a size 10-10.5 shoe and I got a Medium..... HIGHLY recommend.....

Great fit

We bought these to replace a previous pair that we got that were too small (different brand). These fit great. And my niece said they don't slip during her games. Wet will definitely buy again when she needs a different size.

Knee pads are fine....my opinion is they run a little small, or maybe we should have ordered a larger size. Either way, these pads are fine, no complaints.
Great Slim Kneepad
June 25, 2016
Daughter wanted a slimmer style kneepad for volleyball and she has really liked this set. Has held up to 4-5 days of volleyball a week for several months now, and still going strong.
it is the recommended brand of volleyball apparel
May 13, 2016
My daughter has been wearing Nike kneepads for 3 years now since it is the only brand I am familiar of. I only noticed Mizuno from the volleyball club player wearing them. Apparently, it is the recommended brand of volleyball apparel. This is the first time I have bought anything of this brand. My 14-year old daughter is 5’7 in height, 118 lbs in weight and has a knee circumference of 13”. I bought the medium size of this knee-pad and it fit perfectly. It has ample padding (but bulkier than the Nike she had), which is really good. My daughter is not hesitant to dive when the situation calls for it. I had to remove/cut the white plastic tag though. It irritates her skin. I wish that, they will manufacture something that is tag-free. Other than that, my daughter is happy with this knee-pad.Now, I have to buy Mizuno shorts and shoes to compliment the knee-pads.
GREAT COMFORT, SUPPORT AND DURABILITY
September 22, 2015
Great knee pads with great support. I recommend them to all my volleyball players and they have never complained about them and they have never bought replacements due to them becoming too stretched.Great pads, would recommend them to any volleyball player who likes to dive.Note: If you are considering if you should get knee pads, you SHOULD. I messed up my knees playing and wish I wore them despite that they didn't look "cool" when I was in highschool.

Made it through a 12 mile Mudder ok
October 16, 2017
Just finished a 12 mile Tough Mudder and from other reviews I thought I'd be throwing them away at the end of the race. Instead they held up and I don't see any issues or wrips in the material. They did slip down when running so I would just pull them down while running and pull them back up when I came to an obstacle. There is a lot od knee abuse in an OCR event. I'm glad I had these. Going tk do another Tough Mudder on two weeks and plan to use the same pair again and am buying a pair for my wife to wear too.
Five Stars
July 31, 2017
Perfect fit! nice compression! I use these for several purposes, first I use this compression sleeve to better fit my unloader knee brace. I wanted a leg sleeve that will allow the brace to remain in place while on long runs (my brace is a monstrous hardware piece that I must wear while running), this sleeve does the trick. The second use is to wear under Brazilian jiu-jitsu Gi, the sleeve does slip down a bit during rolls but the knee protection stays in-place regardless of the length of the rolls\sessions. Third use is while practicing boxing, during my intense sessions this sleeve stays in place, although the fabric feels thin it has been durable in my case. Will definitely buy when these wear out! I recommend to all.

April 16, 2017
I bought these for my daughter to wear under her shorts while playing goalie for lacrosse. We went online to the McDavid website and read the instructions for measuring. According to the size chart we ordered a medium and they fit perfectly. They stayed in place during her game and did not fall down. We will be buying another pair so she has one pair for practices and another pair for games.
Fits tight at thigh.
March 25, 2017
Unless you have strait chicken legs, make sure to order one size up. I measured my knee according to mcdavid specs which said i was a large. Once the sleeve got up into my quad/thigh area it was too tight and just slid down before i started running on the bball court. I sent back to b replaced with an XL. Hope this helps.
Fantastic protection for post-ACL injury rehabilitation
October 27, 2016
I chose this to protect my knee after an injury caused taking a part of my Patellar Tendon to repair my torn ACL. Now that I am post-rehab, I'm now more comfortable while wearing this sleeve as it gives me support where it was uncomfortable playing sports after the injury. I can even take a knee on the injured knee and it is tolerable where it previously was not.. I also would like to note, for those who are viewing my review whom have a similar injury, I am now 2 years after starting my rehabilitation, so my suggestion would be to use the knee brace suggested by your physician, until rehabilitation of your injury is complete.

It has an absolutely wonderful support but the rough part of the Velcro is on the strap side...so if you're like me and have an extra inch at the end of the strap, you'll have to wear a long sock or try something else.
Runs REALLY small!
January 22, 2016
I really appreciate the way this supports my ankle without cutting off circulation but it runs small. I'm a 10.5 in men's but couldn't get the medium on, and now the large replacement seems to be at the velcro's limit.

Keep in mind that if you are injured and have any swelling you might need a size up. I think it will still work as well because I have a medium from another popular manufacturer that is actually looser than this large, and works great.
Good support
March 10, 2015
I have horrible ankles that I re-sprain all the time. This is the only brace that I'll use because it's really secure, but I can still move around in them. They're very adjustable and I know I've saved myself some sprains wearing this. The only thing is that sometimes the velcro seems to wear down pretty fast. It's not every brace I've gotten, but there have been a few that I had to replace quickly because the velcro won't stay and then the straps just flop around. To me it's worth it to have to replace the brace every once in awhile because like I said, I feel very confident in playing soccer with these on.
Great support. Just what I needed
June 18, 2013
It's a bit of work to get this brace all laced up and wrapped on, but well worth it for the freedom and mobility it is allowing me. It really supports well letting walk easily on uneven surfaces without worry. I'm old and worn out and this is a real blessing.
Better than Air Cast for ankle support but not for tendonitis
June 24, 2012
The support from the McDavid is not bad. It's more difficult than the Air Cast Airheel to put on, because of the laces. However, the McDavid provides better overall support for the ankle. I wear a size 11 shoe, and the Medium is very snug across my foot but fits well in all other respects. I suppose the Large would be loose. The Air Cast provides better support for tendonosis/tendonitis. I do sports with the Air Cast Airheel Aircast airheel foot and ankle brace for men: 12 inch and women: 13.5 inch, large - 1 ea, and it has held up well and provides moderate overall ankle support. Yet, the McDavid appears much more durable.I guess which ankle strap you want really depends on what you want to do, but I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I Was Able to Train Jiu-Jitsu on a Blown Out Ankle
August 10, 2017
I recently sprained my ankle during Brazilian jiu-jitsu training. My friend had secured a toehold, twisting my foot inward and my toes downward until a loud pop noise was heard. I could walk fine afterward but I knew that I probably had torn a tendon. An hour later and the inflammation and pain finally kicked in reaffirming what I had thought. I took a week off from training to heal but even after that time a downward flexion of my ankle would still cause extreme pain as the tendons had not fully healed yet.I researched the best option to help constrain my foot and to prevent it from flexing outward, a brace with laces and a vertical stirrup support was highly reccomended by friends who had similar injuries. Given those variables this brace was one of the cheapest and best reviewed options on Amazon so I went ahead and ordered the brace. So far I am very pleased with the ankle support. As expected the lacing allows for a tight constraint of the ankle joint while the stirrup supports help to keep the toes from moving into a painful downward position. I do have to slide the stirrup supports slightly forward to help constrict the front portion of my foot as when it's too far back (along the heel) it offers little constraint of the foot. But with the stirrups shifted forward the toes are generally protected from being bumped downward or at off ankles.During training the support did well. I still had to refrain from leg locks as my foot could still be manipulated beyond the range of the injured tendon. Though the support does what it's supposed to do, it's still just fabric and it can be stretched with enough force. Which is fine, as I don't think they created this thing for fighting. With responsible and measured training I could easily keep my injured foot out of harms way. My ground rules were simple, I could not engage in ankle locks are commit to any sort of movement where I would have to drive off of the ball of my injured foot. The second condition was more challenging and took some adaptive learning to understand how I could and could not move without injuring myself. Thankfully this ankle stabilizer was able to give me the appropriate feedback to feel when my foot was about to move out of range. At no point was I able to move my foot out of position without first feeling the pressure and tension of the brace trying to prevent my movement. The only problem I had with the brace was how slippery the bottom of the brace was. The stirrup straps are made of a slick synthetic material that makes them slip around. In my shoe the brace would move slightly from side to side and on the mat, I could not plant the flat of my foot without it wanting to slide out. Basically, I had to train and fight without planting or driving off of my injured foot because I just didn't have confidence that I could plant it effectively onto the mat. It's a slight gripe that most people won't have to deal with.
Nicely made ankle brace
June 19, 2017
Nicely made ankle brace. I bought this for my daughter who plays softball. I work in a physical therapy office and the PT recommended this brand for her stability. I measured her ankle and it fits nicely in comparison to the size needed. I would definitely recommend this brace, it ties and has a velcro strap to help keep it in place. It can be worn under pants.
A little weak in the achilles area, but a good buy all the same.
May 28, 2017
I bought this brace as a transition from an orthopedic boot to regular shoes after suffering several partial tears in my achilles. It has worked well. It does give my ankle support. I think specifically for achilles tendon issues it does not give as much support in that specific area as I would have liked, but it was the best one I have found anywhere. I have spoken to a medical supplies, a physical therapist, the pharmacist as well as an orthopedic surgeon. They had nothing better to offer. I have been pleased, but not thrilled. It gives me enough support through the ankle to help with the transition. I would recommend it.
Good stability, but the white stained on the first use
May 6, 2017
I tore the tendons in my ankle (by turning it) so when I was ready to get back to slowly exercising, I wanted something to help prevent another turn/further harm. This had good reviews so I went with it. Overall, it does what it says. I would echo the review that said don't tie the laces to tight over the foot...otherwise it will be WAY too tight once you start walking. I do the foot pretty loose but the ankle portion relatively snug. The one thing that really irks me about the product, though, is that it stained (dirt/track grit) on the very first outing. I have washed it multiple times, including once with bleach, to no avail. Now it looks grimy even when it's clean. I wish I had gotten it in black.
Less expensive than the ones at the doctor office
March 10, 2017
Wish I didn't need this, but a shattered lower leg resulted in a life long need to use this product on a daily basis. I think it does help. I was originally fitted by the doctors office - and now I purchase replacements on my own. Worth a try for anyone needing this type of ankle support.
I'm about one week out from an ankle sprain, ...
June 10, 2016
I'm about one week out from an ankle sprain, so I purchased this to support my ankle as it heals. However, it may be too soon for this type of brace, as my bruising and swelling is still dissipating, so I can't pull the laces too tight or wrap the velcro too tight or it cuts off the circulation in my foot and leg. Will go back to a compression brace for now and post an updated review later. My feeling is this will be good if one has to walk a lot or return to activities, but perhaps it limits movement too much for proper healing; that is, I like to sit at my desk and do the rehab exercises like turning my foot in a circle, writing the alphabet etc - to prevent scar tissue from forming as my ankle heals, but this brace prevents that kind of movement. So I'll use it when I'm moving about, but undo it when sitting. Also, for reference - I'm a women's shoe size 7 and purchased a Small size - there is bunching of material in the heel area and I can't close it with the ASO logo in the front (but it still closes fine).

Good product for daily use
August 31, 2017
Very good ankle support, I am using it every day. Well made. My only complaint is that the toe end is a little narrow for my wide feet and the end tends to pinch the sides of my foot by my toes. I am experimenting with using two or more shoe laces to be able to adjust different sections of the brace to better fit my foot and ankle.
Not bad but not easy to ambulate in
December 19, 2016
I ordered this and another brace for comparison. This product seemed well constructed with a decent fit (I'm a size 6.5-7 and ordered small, I believe). Too stiff, though, to actually start ambulating heel to toe once I was ready to get off crutches. The lacing is secure, but it would not allow me to lace tighter around my foot/ankle, and looser near the top of the brace (like I could with another brace I was using), so it was either too snug and pinching, or too loose. I opted to return the product and to use another ankle brace instead (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RKG0TSU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_7?th=1)
It works
August 19, 2016
I bought this brace because I have a weak ankle from an injury this winter. I couldn't run very far on it or walk long distances without it bothering me. The brace does help, but it's difficult to lace it up so that it supports the weak part of my ankle sufficiently without bothering the rest of my foot. It chaffs a little where the back of my foot slips through the hole. It does what it's supposed to do, but it'd be nice if it were more comfortable. If I had an option to buy it again, I would probably try a different brand to see whether it's any better. This is the first brace I've bought, so I have nothing to compare it to.
Stable but too big for a women's 10.5 narrow foot.

I got the medium since I wear a 10.5 in women's but I have a narrow foot. It seems slightly big for me around the heel but I am able to tighten it down well. I feel confident on the court with it after recovering from a broken foot and sprained ankle. I would recommend it but I wonder if the small would have worked better for me.
Great stabilizer without adding bulk.
February 12, 2016
I sprained my ankle and my doctor recommended a brace that tied. I tried to get one locally, but a tie brace is hard to find in most brick and mortars. A tie brace that comes in small sizes is impossible.I've been relegated to a brace for 8 weeks and have been wearing this specific one for 6. Because of the lace up nature, it's a little hard to get one and off, so you don't have to re-lace the hole thing. That said it doesn't add a lot of bulk while still stabilizing the ankle. If you're torn between sizes, I recommend erring smaller. I have skinny ankles and wear a 7 1/2 womens; I went with a small, but wish I'd bought an x-small.
Great support for playing squash
October 6, 2015
Why I love them:I have had a few niggles with my ankle, all thanks to my love for playing squash. Movement is one of my strong suits, and if you've played squash then you know it takes its toll over time. You are never playing at 100% fitness, and have to manage small niggles every time you get on court. This brace allows me to do just that, and do quick lunges in the front corners without worrying about twisting or jarring my ankles. Some things to know:A fast-paced game like squash wears these things out pretty quick (read 6-8 months). It also wore out the insides of my shoe.I would advice that you wear a sock (at least an ankle length one) over the brace to minimize this wear -- cheaper to replace the socks than the shoes or the brace. These things are highly uncomfortable initially during the break-in period. They might even feel heavy initially. But bear with it the first few weeks and then you'll hardly notice them on your feet.I bought two of these and to ensure consistent support I have L and R written on the inside of this brace with a sharpie. I make sure that I do not mix up the one I wear on left foot with the one for right foot.Pros: Great support, the lacing system works better than any other brace type I've triedCons: Don't last very long with fast-paced sport. They even wore out the insides of my shoe (so wear a sock over them to minimize this).Verdict: I bought two of these last time (about 8 months back) and will be placing an order for another two very soon. They're great. :)

Tight
July 28, 2017
Took my measurements and it said I was a medium, they are a lot tighter than expected and kind of uncomfortable but it gets the job done. Next time I'll go for a large.
Size up
June 28, 2017
I bought a medium and I considered getting a small until reading other reviews. I suggest definitely sizing up because the medium turned out to be pretty tight but I'm assuming it will stretch out over time. Great product!
Good For Spartan Race
September 8, 2014
Used it for the Spartan Super Race this past weekend and it helped a lot when used during the obstacle where you have to crawl under the barbed wire. They run very tight so unless you have very skinny legs go with the large!
Order a size up!
August 10, 2013
I've been playing volleyball for two years now on the high school level (both Junior Varsity and Varsity) and I thought it was time to upgrade my knee pads. my first pair were very thick and bulky which made them very uncomfortable so that made me want to get new ones that were thinner. I saw these and thought they were perfect! The shipping was quick and they look and feel like exactly what I wanted. The only negative thing is that they are a little tight. I ordered a medium, fearing that a large would be too big but I regret not ordering a size up! So when purchasing these, its best to ORDER A SIZE LARGER THAN YOU ACTUALLY ARE!I've been trying to stretch them out by putting them around jars that are pretty wide, and that seems to be helping. Overall these are great knee pads and after I stretch them out I am sure that I will love them!
Great Knee pad!
January 9, 2013
I'm a volleyball coach and my own children were in need of new kneepads. I prefer the low profile type of knee pads. My girls love them. They fit great, do not slide down and give complete protection. They liked them so much I announced to my team that if and or when they are in need of new knee pads to buy these. I have placed a couple order for parents already. Great item and well priced. These are a must.
Mizuno LR6 Volleyball Kneepads
August 18, 2012
The LR6 is very comfortable to use and very easy to wear. It doesn't inhibit movement and doesn't limit range of versatility even during intense games. Unfortunately, although the compact size, there are sudden knee impacts that are not 100% protected. And after washing it for some time, the rubberized/gartered part doesn't keep it's shape making it loose. Because of this, there is a tendency to keep on pulling my kneepads up every now and then during the game, which shouldn't be, specially when focus on the game at hand should be on top of my attention. But all in all, the LR6 is 80% of what i have expected it to be. If only i have the budget to get both the MS1 and the LR6, i would buy them both, just to compare which model would suit be more. Kudos, though, to the forever-improving technology of Mizuno!

... hold up for a basketball season and do a good job protecting knees
June 14, 2017
Definitely will rip it they are slid across the court but should hold up for a basketball season and do a good job protecting knees.
Runs small but so far, so good!
March 6, 2017
They seem to run pretty small. I purchased the adult small for my 12 year old grandson who is small for his age and they were very tight. So far they are holding up pretty well and he definitely spends a LOT of his time on the floor when wearing them to play!! I had purchased the same ones in black previously and they did not hold up well at all but the company replaced them so was pleased with that.
Good product, but not a great product.
December 22, 2016
Good Product.Reason for 4 stars: Issue with the portion of the sleeve over the thigh slipping down due to movement. I don't think it is possible for the elastic band to keep the material in place on your thigh without it migrating to the knee during physical activity, any tighter and it would be too constrictive. (Ordered a large; thigh is 15.5in above the knee) Also, the portion over the calves tend to migrate upward during use. The red McDavid sticker fell off after some use. This product is not meant for compression around the knee, it keeps the knee warm and does provide protection from minor bumps to the knee.
The pads do not completely defend against all pain but does a very good job at absorbing most of the force from impact
December 12, 2016
These work very well for basketball. The pads do not completely defend against all pain but does a very good job at absorbing most of the force from impact. The knee pads protect from injury and the compression feature ensures that they stay up. That feature also wicks away sweat and keeps the leg muscles warmed to help prevent muscle injuries. The fabric appears thin and durability is still a question. Sometimes the pads do not stay up but the main pad area manages to stay in the correct spot making it nearly unnoticeable.I would recommend this product to anyone who plays basketball and wants to reduce their risk of knee injuries on the court or in other sports.
Great knee pads, just wish they held up better to abuse
August 25, 2015
Works as expected, have used black ones before. They do a FANTASTIC job as protective gear. Daughter wears these as knee pads and it covers the upper half of her shins too. The Hexpad tech absorbs impact like nothing else. The only possible downside is its durability when sliding on them, her falls have been mostly straight down right into the padding and she says she can barely feel a thing. But when she has to slide on her knees for a ball the part of the fabric that makes contact with the floor starts to tear after a while. Refs have stopped games to remove the hex pads from the floor when they start to fall out of the holes. I wish they would make it out of a stronger material. But we just buy another set every month during basketball season. That is why I started ordering them on Amazon. I got tired for running up to the local sporting goods store every few weeks.
Good overall leg sleeve/knee protector, not that good at knee compression.
November 8, 2014
If you need compression, this is probably not the right choice, if you need some knee protection and some minor compression, then it's ok. The fit is good, both top band and bottom band fit well (nice and tight, but not cutting the circulation or anything like that). The knee protection part is really good, compression around the knee part is not nearly enough. The material feels nice on my legs, used it 3-4 times a week for last two months and the stitching held up (so far at least) - I've seen a few people here that had an issue with stitching. I got it because sometimes my knee bothers me a little during runs - but with medium compression all pain is gone. This works just ok for my purposes. I did not want to get a full brace for my knee because I would like to maintain the mobility this sleeve allows - can't have it both ways though.

It was not too tight but it was still painful. I am returning it
February 28, 2017
This brace is supportive enough that I did not notice rolling, but I could only wear it for a few hours because it somehow managed to increase the swelling in my foot. I have a grade 3 sprain that was both lateral and medial and this brace did something to my foot. It was not too tight but it was still painful. I am returning it.
save a little time and read.
July 8, 2016
Good Brace but it was squeezing to tightly around my ankle. I orderd a large. Also to many laces which made putting the brace on and taking it off difficult. They used elastic in the laces area so when you go to put it on it is always squeezing around your poot as you are pulling it on .. and taking it off you can not spread the laces area for easy removal. Other than that it was comfy once on and positioned correctly on my foot, But i was unable to wear this brace as long as i could my ASO brace.
Tried 5 braces - this one is OK
June 22, 2016
I've purchased 5 different ankle braces and will post this same review for each one.I was looking for ankle brace the would give the most lateral support.I've injured both my ankles while playing ultimate Frisbee. I love the game and will continue playing no matter what.So wearing support is now a must for me otherwise I easily roll my ankle on a sharp turn or a stop during the game.So again, my intent is to use ankle support for already injured ankle while playing active sports.Brace that only helps "prevent" injury is useless, I'm already injured. For Ultimate Frisbee I need "ultimate" ankle support. So here is my list.1. Best support and price#1 Laced Ankle Brace With Stabilizing Strap For Flexible Support. Breathable Neoprene Braces Made By Product Stop. (Large)Plastic on both sides makes all the difference. I can tighten it with the straps as tight as I want. Foot stays flexible. I've played Frisbee at full strength and didn't have any pain from my injured right ankle.2. Best support as well, but expensiveZamst A2-DX Left Ankle Brace, Black, LargeWhen I read in one of negative reviews for this product that it is too complicated to put on, that was a selling point for me.Brace that is easy to put on cannot give good support. A good brace would mold into your foot, it shouldn't be easy to put it on.So I got it, played at full speed and it was most of the time very safe. The only thing I didn't like is that material of the boot and the straps can stretch a little, so it make it quite flexible, but would let the ankle roll in some really extreme twist. I would sacrifice some of flexibility for a guarantee that it wouldn't let the ankle roll no matter what.3. These 3 braces have the same design, good basic support, but not good for ultimate gameASO Ankle Stabilizer, Black, X-LargeBest price, design and durabilityMcDavid 195 Deluxe Ankle Brace with Strap (Black, Large)More expensive than ASO, nicer look, good durability, but I don't like design of the straps (crossing straps should start from the back of the foot)Shock Doctor Ultra Wrap Lace Ankle Support (Black, Large,9-9.5)Price is OK, but not very durable. 7-10 games destroyed it quickly.

September 12, 2017
FIt is not great. I measured my foot as indicated and ordered the indicated size. The tie strings don't have a lot of extra room when I tighten this up. Pulled it as tight as I could stand and my ankle is still moving around. After an hour or so my leg was in worse pain than before the brace. Took off the brace and the pain went away within a couple minutes. So did nothing to brace my ankle and when tightened up actually hurt worse than the sprain (and still did not brace the ankle).

August 1, 2017
I lost my ankle brace that I had for years and so I had to get a new one to help me as I recovered from torn ligaments. I followed the sizing guidelines and it still ended up being a little small. But it was an emergency so I didn't return it. Because it was a little small, I found 2 areas that caused me problems. The Velcro across the top was way to small and when I tightened it, it kinda threw my ankle out of wack a little. It also left blisters on the back of the ankle so be sure to wear a high sock if you are prone to blisters! The laces were sturdy and the straps on the side gave me the stability I needed while I recovered. So all in all, as long as you don't expect a perfect fit, it's a good brace for the price!
Not bad..
April 10, 2017
Product is okay, but could use some tweeking. For example, inside could be padded and the tongue could be thicker, the cross straps could be longer. All of which I get from similiar product made by Mcdavid.
Doesn't live up to the hype
December 7, 2016
I chose this brace primarily based upon the rave reviews and found myself disappointed. I purchased this product to aid in my recovery from a Grade II sprain, based on my doctor's recommendation that I begin to place some weight on the foot but use something stronger than an ACE wrap for support. The brace is not easy to take on and off, which is not a major issue (whoever said injuries were convenient, after all?), but it also seems to have the bulk of its support above the ankle. This left the ligaments around my actual ankle bone unsupported (I have a medial, not lateral, sprain) while creating an uncomfortable tightness around my lower calf. The side straps might be more effective if they were elastic, allowing them to snug up against the foot better. As it is, I am actually having to double-brace by using an ACE bandage under the ASO brace to support the ligaments that the brace by itself fails to secure. Overall, it's not a terrible product and perhaps works better for preventative measures than actual recovery. If the brace were made of more elastic material and had the bulk of its support just a couple inches lower, it would be a much better product.

Materials and construction seemed good, but I couldn't tell how well it would work as it was too small. Ordered based on the sizing guidelines but should have ordered one size larger.
Good Brace just a bit bulky
April 27, 2015
Adds a bit more bulk than she expected but she's getting used to it. Her shoes of course needed to be adjusted to even get them on, but as you can see there is a lot to this brace. It's for sure sturdy and well made. She would have liked it a bit thinner but not sure you'd get the support you need doing that.
I needed more support.
July 2, 2013
If you are looking for alittle support then this is the brace for you. It is lightweight. But you also might need help lacing it tight enough to provide the needed control. The another brand with speed lacers works better for me. It provides more support and is easly adjusted without taking your shoe off.

Poorly Sized, But Nice Kneepads w/Good Padding
November 11, 2014
These kneepads fit snug, too snug for my volleyball player. I ordered a medium for my kid who is tall (64 inches), thin (105 lbs), and 12 years old. I returned them and did not opt to try a size large as I think those too would have fit snug. Despite the poor sizing, these are nice kneepads with good padding. I am not sure what age group these would fit, but I am sure they would work well for kids in the high single digits.

Strange fit (sort of like "Strange Taste Chicken"). Will not stay in one place. If you're planning to use these in an activity that involves body movement of any type, you'll be spending your time rearranging them. They simply don't stay out! Too bad ... They would be great for many activities (like scrubbing the floor on your hands and knees, or as part of a super-hero costume, put one on your head and look like Marge Simpson).

This is good when it works
December 3, 2016
This is good when it works. After reading all the reviews regarding the wear & tear and size issues, I went ahead and purchased these for my son. They work fine but they are challenge because they would stay up around the thigh; so they fit in some places but not in others. The knee pad was good, but he could not get the thigh section to stay up. He tried wearing them with other tights over them and under them, but they still would slide down. Ultimately we resorted to rubber bands, which prove to be uncomfortable. This product works but the elastic at the ends needs to be wider and stronger so they stay in place.
ok but not great
May 8, 2016
I used this for a mud run race under my pants. The padding is good enough for what I needed. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the top part around the thigh was super tight. At one point it seemed to have cut off the blood circulation to my leg.
Had a tear before the Basketball Season was Over!
March 15, 2016
I purchased these for my 12 year old for basketball. They worked great as far as keeping the bruises off his knees as he falls on the ground trying to get the ball. My only complaint is that after 1/2 the season they had a hole wore in them and by the end of the season they were unusable due to the hole becoming quite large. I really wish these would have held up longer for the price I paid. At least make it through a complete season!

January 26, 2017
It's a pretty good brace. You can feel it really support your ankle. It was great until I played basketball in it. Even though I had a sock it still rubbed my foot and left it red and blistered. I also had to keep readjusting it, not sure how or why, but it seemed like it was not holding the support on my ankle. It kept getting loose and didn't make me feel secure.
Gave me a terrible blister
August 16, 2016
I recently suffered a sever ankle sprain while playing basketball. I did tons of research online to find the best brace to wear in my shoes as I made my way back to the court and bought 4 of the best reviewed ones I could find. I have sprained ankle in the past and have tried numerous braces over the years. I even have a pair of basketball shoes with braces built into them but was looking for something additional because of how bad my ankle was.
The McDavid Level 3 brace has GREAT reviews. I was just going to buy this one but decided I would buy a few others to see which worked best for me. I wore the McDavid twice inside my basketball shoe and had to return it. The support it gives your ankle is really great. The straps stay tight and it made me feel protected even while running on an injured ankle. But the design of it rubbed the back of my foot with every step and gave me a terrible blister the first time I wore it. I thought it might need to be broken in and after some more time off, I put it on again for another game. I taped up my foot and wore thicker socks. I even put tape on the outside of my socks where the blister had occurred. I'm sad to say that this didn't make a difference and the skin on the back of my heel/ankle was rubber completely off. I ended up half-way through the game having to take my shoe off and get the brace off because it hurt so much to move in it. The strap to pull the brace up that is stitched to the back also broke off after 2 times pulling it up. I was super excited to use this brace as it seemed to help so many others but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
My search for the perfect brace continues.

This thing is like a rubik's cube to get one. When I figured it out, I found that it didn't fit. I wear a men's size 11, and the medium looks to fit a 9 at best. Good luck getting it on with a sore ankle, by yourself. After getting injured, I hiked extremely rugged terrain in a a loaned braced which was easier to put on and costs about $10 less. I got this thinking it would be better; it isn't for me. I'm returning it for the less expensive one, that I can actually wear.

I had ordered the Bracco Breathable Neoprene Ankle Support at the same time, it works perfectly! My disappointment came when I tried to return the ASO Ankle Stabilizer and was told that it is non-returnable! but could tolerate three other kinds of braces for most of a day before feeling like I was going to claw my skin off
April 15, 2015
Because there is little to no give in the fabric, if I snug it tight enough to support, it's brutally uncomfortable very quickly... if I don't it ends up tight in the wrong places and unsupportive where I need it no matter how much I fuss with it. It's noisy (velcro, nylon), and MUST be worn with a sock because there are itchy bits on the inside otherwise. I had high hopes for this and it is just not going to do the trick at all. With as fussy as it is and time consuming to put on, I had high hopes for support, but the lack of support in key areas is just not acceptable.I have sensory issues with fabrics, but could tolerate three other kinds of braces for most of a day before feeling like I was going to claw my skin off. This one lasted less than an hour without a sock, and even with a sock is just not comfortable.

It also felt less supportive on the sides, where I needed it the most. After removing it after several hours of wear and walking, my heel had blistered from rubbing and my sprain area had swollen again. Definitely not the support I need for a day on my feet.

September 21, 2017
I bought this as a sturdier brace for my weak ankle. I am a size 9 women's and bought a M size brace. The brace is very uncomfortable on the underneath and side of the foot at both openings. I started to develop a blister on the L side of my foot due to how it was rubbing on my foot. I wore this brace for four 10 hour days and I have had enough. It's not worth being that uncomfortable to have a stiff brace. If you have an active job and need to wear this brace for an extended amount of hours, I would avoid it.

Way Too Rigid for Exercise
August 26, 2016
Well, it is some solid ankle brace. It does deliver nice support and protection. But in my opinion, the material is way too rigid and firm.I suffered ankle injury before so I wear ankle brace during basketball games just to avoid new injuries. An ideal ankle brace for injury-prevention during exercise should have solid and firm support around the ankle while remains as flexible as possible. But this ankle brace is so rigid and firm that I can't even bend my foot in it. In some of the previous reviews people claims they play basketball or soccer, or work out in it; I totally don't understand how they managed to do it. I wonder if it requires breaking time like a new pair of shoes.I suppose it's good for those who are recovering from recent injury, and would like their ankle to remain stable at all time; however, if you are looking for something to prevent new injury during exercise, I do not recommend this.
Disappointed
March 31, 2016
I was so hopeful about this one, as it was recommended by my PT. The heel cutout was extremely uncomfortable, the compression happens on the foot but not at all at/above the ankle, and it digs into the top of my foot. All around uncomfortable. I'm recovering from a sprain from roller derby, and I'll say that the one plus is that it fits in my skate.

At first, these pads were awesome, great support and protection. However, after using them for a short time, the pads became distorted and flat. I am planning on trying another brand and hope the quality is better.
March 10, 2017
I have ordered my son 3 pairs of the McDavid Leg Sleeves. My son plays basketball and is rough on his knees. These do not last long enough for the price I paid. The last pair got a hole in the knees after just one game. I am planning on trying another brand and hope the quality is better.
Going to look for a different brand.
January 19, 2017
I've had to buy so many pairs of these. They last as long as they don't actually have to be used to protect the knees or elbows. As soon as they touch the floor, they open up. I like the feel and I understand that they are comfortable because they are thin but they can be designed to last for more than a few games. Local stores want 40 bucks for these. Even at 25 bones they are too much if they don't last. If I add it all up, I probably have about 200-300 wrapped up with all of the pairs I've purchased just for basketball, and I don't over-abuse these, believe me. If you've read the other reviews you already know what I mean
Disposable
January 16, 2017
While the sleeves look good out of the package, it's all down hill from there. My daughter used them in 1, count them 1, game and the logo peeled off, and the fabric wore out in multiple spots.Find it hard to believe these are the same high end products used by collegiate and professional athletes.
they would probably be fine. Just don't expect them to offer any protection ...
March 16, 2016
I have purchased two sets of these knee pads for my daughter. The first set didn't last through the first weekend of basketball games. Since she had gone down hard and the flooring was not a typical court, I assumed it was a fluke. Unfortunately, after purchasing a second pair for school ball, we figured out that although they look sharp, they are basically worthless as knee pads. One time down on the knees and these are done for. I guess if you are purchasing them for looks and do not plan to dive for loose balls, they would probably be fine. Just don't expect them to offer any protection to the knees or last more than a couple of games before ripping out.
there are not many other brands out there being advertised that appear that much better.
March 9, 2016
These Knee Pads, for the cost, were disappointing. They did not last longer than 5 games for my son (in Junior High) and 3 games for my daughter (in High School) before each set got a hole in one of the pads. While they did protect their knees for the most part, they still got a little bruising using them. Cosmetically, they looked extremely tacky thereafter. I am not looking forward to having to purchase these again for their upcoming season, however, there are not many other brands out there being advertised that appear that much better.
Great design, terrible quality.
January 5, 2016
Bought these for my 11 year old son for basketball and had to replace the first pair as a hole developed in one of the knees after 2 practices and 2 games. Received a replacement pair from Amazon's great customer service, and the new pair developed a hole after 1 practice and 1 game. Given that they are knee pads, I would expect the manufacturer to build the product to withstand normal use. My son loved the design and fit, but extremely disappointed in the quality. Will return this 2nd pair and try something else.

I have tried this on both feet with thick socks. After walking jogging for a mile it starts to hurt just above the ankle because something rubs against the skin and cuts it.

I have purchased several of these over the years. The newest design is smaller than previous ones. The problem is that it no longer fits my high arches. No such difficulty in past.
know YOUR size
January 8, 2015
I'm a size 10 1/2 & it says my brace should be medium & let me tell you that if you have a skinny foot then it might be ok but if you have wide feet then go with large because my feet could not circulate blood at all & the pain was unbearable, it looks like a good product but their sizing threw me off, I'm going to get them replaced them update after a few martial arts classes & give a complete review

For Fat Feet

If you have narrow feet this is NOT for you. I am a female with a 10 AA size foot, I ordered a medium according to size chart. No support what so ever, I get more support from an ace bandage.

Dont waste your money
May 6, 2017
Poor support, difficult to get on foot. Purchased for a sprained ankle, once I finally got my foot on it I realized there was nothing to the integrity of this brace. An elastic bandage will do far better.
Terrible product and very bad customer service
April 18, 2017
The material is cheaply made. I don't see how others said it provide great support when the material is so thin. It will not even hold your ankle in place. I previously used Mueller ankle brace and the material is nice and thick and provide great support. Unlike this product, the mater is so thin and cheaply made. You better off pay a little more getting Mueller. I would not recommend this at allReceived the product on 4/17 and opened it without using it, I immediately, filed for a return on 4/18, the seller Flexibrace told me i have 24 hrs to return and i have to pay shipping. Plus they will deduct 20% restocking fee. This is absolutely ridiculous. I rather throw it away then return it to them so they can re-sale it.Also Customer service is terrible, they response in a tone of voice like who care. I will never buy from this seller ever again.I will never purchase from this seller again
My honest review
March 3, 2017
BUYER BEWARE: purchasing these ankle braces are RISKY. The sizing charts are not accurate. If you receive the wrong size even after following the chart, received a defective product, or plain do not want it anymore, good luck getting a return.Review on the product:On the product itself, the braces are made of vinyl material that can cause some burns if you use them for basketball. Your feet will heat up fairly quickly causing you to want to loosen the braces. but if you loosen the braces, what's the point of having them in the first place? It becomes a nuisance.

Bought this ASO lace-up a while ago to prevent my ankle from rolling. After wearing brace for 20 mins it had loosened up and provided even less support. Stopped wearing it after first week as it doesn't provide enough support to keep my ankle from rolling.

Too rigid and too short down the foot, too large around ankle and lower calf. I would like to return it but waited too long to try it before making a decision about this product.

Poor design protects your ankles but rips away layers of skin (and destroys socks)
September 15, 2014
I have had these for a year now and am finally giving up and throwing them away. From the beginning they have ripped through the skin on my heal and top of my foot every time I have worn them. I started out wearing them over a pair of socks but after only 60 minutes of use (playing soccer) they had torn through a brand new pair of socks and then my feet. Then I tried wearing them over athletic tape with the same result. I finally thought duct tape would be strong enough to protect my feet but they still managed to rip through the tape and then several layers of skin on both feet during a soccer game. The design just seems to be poorly thought out with significant seems and stitching on the inside.
Very poorly made. Broke down and fell apart
May 7, 2014
I bought the exact same ankle braces as these in 1997 and used them regularly for 10+ years. Finally they broke down and I had to get some replacements. I bought them and within 1 year the bottom tore at the seam on one of the braces and the edging tore away from the heel section on the other one. The design is the same but I think McDavid has changed they material they are using to cheaper product or are making them differently. I abused the first set I had playing every week. The new set performed for a year and then broke down. I am in my late 30s now so I don't play nearly as fast or as hard as I did 15 years ago yet they couldn't handle it. I wouldn't recommend them anymore.

Disappointed in Quality
January 27, 2015
I purchased these for my daughter for her school season, and despite washing (delicate cycle) in cold water & being hung to dry, they ripped after not much use. I bought a second pair (in December) for her to use for club season, which she wears for tournaments only (so far, two tournaments) and they, too, have a huge rip. We did not have the trouble with sizing that many others experienced. I have messaged Mizuno to express my disappointment.Update 2/9/15 - After sending photos of my daughter's knee pads & proof of purchase, Mizuno sent out two replacement pairs. Their customer service was great. Hopefully these knee pads will withstand regular use.

I am not happy with this one
September 11, 2017
I bought the similar one at local Big5 store with about 30% higher price before. For this on line one, I found out material is not exactly the same and it wore out in 1-2 months after the usage. I was able to use the local Big5 store one at least 5-6 months. I am not 100% sure this on line one is the original manufacture. I am not happy with this one.
Received as ripped. Doubt the quality
August 20, 2017
Received the product today as it came in ripped. Either it's a defect in production or someone returned it after it's ripped and it got shipped to us. Very disappointed. I wonder how good the quality would be if it can be ripped like this. Returning it right away

My 11 year old daughter wore these to her basketball game last night and not even 4 minutes into the first quarter they had torn - both knees. They were brand new. Hoping to find something a little sturdier!
Poor fabric quality.
May 30, 2017
If your player spends anytime on the ground these are not for you. My daughter has holes in these after two games. We definitely cannot make an entire season, or sometimes tournament, with this product.
Had used this season and was pleased with them
March 29, 2017
There are the second or third pair of these I have purchased for my son who is an 5th grade basketball player. Think of these as an "airbag" for the knee. Cause it saves you knee.. but only 1 time.. then it's shot. Had used this season and was pleased with them. Very disappointed with these they did NOT make it through. He went to his knees 4 or 5 times and there is a large hole in the pad and the hex material came out....frustrated! Did not expect to last forever but at least for the season or 2.
Not worth the price
December 1, 2016
While the pads fit well, they don't last. We bought the first pair 1 month ago. They both ripped by the 3rd basketball game. I contacted McDavid who said to go through Amazon for a replacement because they were still under warranty. I haven't even sent back the ripped pair and the new ones already have a hole in them. Not worth the $25-30 that these cost. Going to try one of the off brands that Amazon sells to see if they are any better.
