January 4, 2017 This handy game center turned our yard into a ping pong tournament several times over the summer and holidays. Well built and packaged. Comes with storage sleeve/bag and hides away conveniently when not in use. A great addition to our family nights April 27, 2016 I bought this for my 9 year old's birthday 3 months ago. He loves it and it is good quality for the price. I like the ability to pack it up and put it away when needed. It has gotten a lot of use from kids ages 4-44! It's a smaller version of a ping pong table, but a great way to teach skills and be a little competitive! We don't use the chess/checkers and backgammon boards much, but they do get used on occasion and are a nice addition. Ping pong February 6, 2016 I got this for a Christmas present for my husband. It is a really nice table, but smaller than expected. I should have measured first! It was too narrow to cover our dining room table so we ended up returning it. It came well packed and there was not fuss about the return. If it had been just a bit bigger we would be having fun playing ping pong right now! It comes with paddles and balls, so we were good to go out of the box.If the folds interfere with your game, you are a better player than I am! We have played every day since his birthday party, and I can't recall one bounce that was was wrong. As long as the table is flat, the seams are flat, too.As far as the "other" review goes, I'm not sure what he expects from a $99 ping pong table. (He is probably too good for this table - his reviews include a $26 net and a $15 paddle case - definitely out of my league!). Flimsy hinges and plastic, sure, and the net does sag a tiny bit, but it works if you aren't playing a world class game. I think this is a great starter table to see if you really love ping pong. December 1, 2014 I ordered this set for my kids. On receipt it was obvious that STIGA had made these very inexpensive paddles to meet a low price point. At the time I ordered them they were only $12.35 for 4 paddles and 3 balls. As usual you get what you pay for (and inexpensively made set). I will suggest that you spend a little more and buy the better quality model STIGA Performance Table Tennis Set (ASIN: B00345XX5W). They are currently $29.99 for a set of 4 paddles and 6 balls. Stiga's customer service is second to none, if you have a problem they will make it right, and that is why I am giving them a 5-star rating. I liked how I could feel the impact of the ball on contact with the paddle.I play at work. Bought these for everyone to use. Some people liked the paddles and other did not. I loved them. But I also loved the next grade up which is what I bought when these went missing. Then 2 of these showed back up again. Go figure.The upgrades went missing and i use these to this day. Bought another set of the next quality up but I have them sitting my my locker until these go missing again. I would buy these again for the price.For new players, you really can't go by our reviews all that much. You really have to use it and see if you like the way it feels. Even if you don't like it after you get it, I don't see how you can not say it is not worth what it costs. But, gets the job done for recreational TT .. and it's smaller than a full size table, so don't expect any championships on this. We put it on our picnic table and its a good time. It is very thin and folds up so that you can take it with you places to play. Easy to put on a dinning room or kitchen table and fold up and put in the closet. Great for people who don't have the room for a full size table. On the plus side it's quite inexpensive and if it's supported fully around all the edges it works well enough to bat the ball back and forth. Some of the negatives include: very low quality accessories - I would have preferred a table made of thicker material and given up on the accessories, which are almost useless. The table is only about 1/4 inch thick so if it overhangs your support table it will sag quite a lot. I ended up making some braces out of 2x4's to extend the table to keep it flat. My sense is the ball does not bounce quite as well as a regular table but for light, family fun-style play no one will notice. It's just "ok" October 6, 2016 The quality of this table is what one might expect at this price point. It isn't full size or very well made and most of the complaints I've read about it are valid. If you move it a lot, I wouldn't expect it to last long and I did have to put something under the joints to keep the table level. However, it does play fairly well and is a lot of fun. When it wears out, I will probably opt for a better table but for now, this will do. Received fast, but the quality is not 100% what ... Has 2 folds that interfere with ball bounce April 4, 2011 I really want to like this product. It is decent size, not annoyingly tiny. In fact, it is 2/3 the size of a full-size table. It also perfectly fit on top of our dining table (7' x 3.5'). The playing surface is good enough for the ball to bounce reasonably well. It even folds up and is light enough to be carried on outings and events.BUT, the grind is, the table top folds in 2 places. This is NOT mentioned anywhere in the description, and is not apparent in the pictures either. I assumed it folded in one place, right under where the net would mount. Probably should have researched more, but didn't occur to me at that time.Anyway, the 2 folds end up being on the 2 halves on either side of the net. They are about 1.16 foot from the net. The fold has seams that do protrude out a little - just a wee bit, but enough to affect ball bounce. The table top has metal hinges at the ends of the folds. the hinges affect bounce too. The table top corners have a triangular pastic cap that fell off immediately. It didn't affect play, but just wanted to mention how flimsy it is.Overall, I could have probably played a mid-distance game on this table top, but mind you, this is a 2/3 size anyway, so you cannot really adjust and improvise that much. It is more suited to a short game, and that does get affected badly by the way it folds in 2 places.The paddles that come with it are a joke, but you could make it a fun game out of them if you like. The net is nothing to speak about, it mounts easily, but is not taut enough. It is also shorter than the regular net.Unfortunately, I had to return it to Amazon. Hopefully, the manufacturer will take note of the feedback and make some amends to what could be potentially be a really good product. | 16% Thin paddles May 3, 2017 The paddles are thin. Of which I am... ahem... one. Obviously. Average paddles December 28, 2015 These ping pong paddles are sturdy and the pads seem to be securely attached. The downsides I see are that some of the paddles have rough handles- as if they weren't sanded well enough in the factory (so we had to sand them ourselves), and the handles also seem about 1/2 inch to an inch shorter than others we have played with, which has given a few of us blisters where the end of the handle dug into our hands after playing for an hour. Not bad, but not the best ever. Ping pong balls are standard and I have no complaints about those! So far okay May 28, 2015 So far...okay. The table tennis paddle fits well in my hand and we had fun playing with the set although the 1-star ping pong balls are not very bouncy. While I appreciate having some free balls with the set, it's really annoying that they are not great quality. Do yourself a favor and buy the tournament quality 3-star balls along with these paddles. Cheap and cheaply made September 8, 2014 I got these two rackets because I noticed there was no padding at all under the rubber surface. Which in my case is exactly what I want. I'm not using this for standard ping pong, I'm using it for a different game that my office has created which is similar to racquetball. Only reason I give this 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because the quality of the construction of the rack itself is extremely poor. The wooden frame is more along the lines of balsa wood which is fine but if you hit the paddle on the table it breaks really easy. it would probably be fine for most ping pong play, but if you have kids or if you're looking for a crap at all it's probably going to take a little bit of a beating over the next few years. This is really not the right choice my paddle broke in about 2 or 3 games the other one has been lasting longer because I've been careful to be gentle with it but it looks like it is going to break soon.all that being said, it is very very cheap, so you could just get a few of these and just replace them as they break. There are no directions for any of the games that are on the back of the table and there is not a customer service number to address my concerns. Very disappointing. Rubber is peeling off after just approx 10 hours of playing time. If you don't play Ping pong regularly, this may be ok for you. But since I play ping pong on a regular basis, the design of the racket is not good enough. It only has one layer of material on the wooden structure, which means you can not do much when you hit the ball. By that I mean, it's hard for you to put some spin on the ball when you hit it. Really thin wood that will be broken within a few uses. Hinges are junk and as soon as you put the net on, the net holders destroy the cheap wood and it's paint. Bends super easy so I have it sitting flat on a table. If it weren't so large I would immediately return. Boo. Cheap. The product we received was cheaply constructed, had a broken hinge and one of the plastic corners had fallen off. Further, it is three panels rather than 2 which came together with a lip midway on each side of the table (photo appears like two panels with a mid line under the net). Good luck playing with the crevice on both sides. This was probably described in the details and I was too hasty... One would hope. Furthermore, this particular table was sold as "good as new"... Which it wasn't.. Damaged upon delivery...packing it back up was a real headache. The returnee's cover sheet was still enclosed! So much for Amazon checking on their materials.
