Fantastic latest generation console, great fun for the whole family
April 25, 2016
Of all the presents I bought my two boys (7 and 5) this has by far given me the most bang per buck. This is a world class console that says quality and performance no matter where you look. The graphics are stunning on an HD TV set. The games available go from the graphic tour de force (e.g. Forza, Yarn, Lego Jurassic Park) to the silly instant gratification (e.g. Plants vs Zombies, Kung Fu Panda, Tetris.) If the last year is any indication this will monopolize a good part of my home's TV time for the next 2-3 years. If you have kids and believe that consoles are a valid toy category for them you certainly won't go wrong with this one (and you may be surprised at the fun you have yourself.)
The only part that I think needs more work is the Kinect which I bought along with my console. The potential of the device is HUGE. I love it when it recognizes me and calls me by name. However it should offer me to sign on as one of the players in at that point (and I should be able to simply reply "yes" or "no" verbally). The Kinect game support is spotty too. I've had some success using Kinect in the Dance game that comes with it, but in general not a lot of games support it. (I was hoping it would be a workable replacement for a wii type controller in tennis games and the like, but that hasn't been my experience.) The voice recognition in Kinect also has incredible potential but there are few occasions to use it (Zoo Tycoon is probably the best implementation of this I've seen, though it isn't ever-present enough even in that game.) For example I'd like to be able to play Plants vs Zombies using a regular controller plus Kinect and yell orders as I go (change my weapon, etc.) The key for voice recognition to be accessible/discoverable is the game needs to prompt me in green for things to say (as in Zoo Tycoon). Another problem with voice recognition is if you happen to live outside the US, support for it is spotty. Consoles in Mexico have it but those in Argentina don't (Argentines can easily communicate in Mexican style Spanish, they hear it on dubbed TV programs all day long.) The good news is you can have xbox register your console in the Mexico locale even if you are in Argentina.
BOTTOM LINE: This is an amazing console with a lot of room for further growth, you won't go wrong buying it.
Works Great
February 17, 2016
Quick delivery and works great so far. This was a replacement for another "new" Xbox One that I ordered through Amazon. This one has a smaller hard drive, but it loaded all of my games 10 times as fast as the other so called new Xbox and all of my games work perfectly on this one so far. I would recommend buying from this company through Amazon
How cool.
January 28, 2016
As a mother I do not know much about Video games, it's not really my thing. However, this thing is so cool to watch my kids play. We got battery packs for the remotes, a remote control for tv and an infinity set up. It also has Netflix and Amazon, which allowed me to eliminate the roku box as we don't have cable. YouTube channel is loaded, which is great because my husband and I can surf random stuff on YouTube on the big screen instead of me trying to show him on my iPad. The battery packs are amazing on the remotes, as compared to our Wii remotes that just eat batteries like they own stock in the battery company. It looks nice and sleek in my tv unit compared to some of the older stand outish video game units. The remotes seem to be more responsive than our Wii ones were, which results in less yelling and throwing of remotes. The cords provided were plenty long enough to reach the plugs. There is an option to keep it off line when not using internet which is also nice. I also really recommend infinity if you have younger kids. I won't review that here, but I will say I feel it is not a brain drain. I was nervous to spend the cash on this, but over all I feel it's worth it. My kids ages 1-13 all love it.
Awesome!
January 7, 2016
This is my first video game console since Nintendo Wii. I know, behind the times. My daughter has become obsessed with Minecraft, and I had always been interested in trying Assassin's Creed, and I thought the Kinect would be fun for the younger kids.

So right! It's taking me some adjusting, but we all love this system. It's a little irritating that it automatically picks a gamertag for you in the start, but easy enough to figure out how to change. Expensive system, but worth it for everything that it does. Love it.
Perfect Gift
January 3, 2016
The look on my kids face when he opened this on Christmas was priceless.

Everything we needed was included and it all works great. No problems with it at all.

We decided last minute to grab this for Christmas. I couldn't be happier. Love the dance game that was included. It's a good workout while having fun.
Buying guide for Xbox One bundles
November 17, 2015
I wanted to create a guide to help those interested in purchasing an Xbox One, since there are so many bundles, and offers change constantly. I'll attempt to keep this up to date as the bundles change. This is NOT a comparison to Playstation 4 or Wii U.A short list of features that may interest you, shared by all Xbox Ones (more details can be found in product descriptions and Microsoft sites) -HDMI pass through. You can hook up an HDMI device to the back of an Xbox One to view the content from that device without changing inputs or leaving the X1 interface. This allows for split screen viewing and if a cable box or the official TV tuner, you can view the channel guide, watch TV, and set recordings. It is backwards compatible with some Xbox 360 games. This is great for those with backlogs (like me...) or those who want to revisit finished games without having another console plugged into the wall/TV. In the fall, owners of publisher approved disc or digital 360 games will be able to play them emulated on the X1. Some X1 games also include their 360 precursors with purchase for play on the X1 in case you missed them. Rainbow Six Siege includes both R6 Vegas Xbox 360 games, for example. List of games and other info here -[...]It will stream content to Windows 10 devices.Xbox Live Gold now applies to households instead of individuals; meaning that multiple accounts on the same console can have access to the same features but have differing account restrictions (I.E. parental controls). So you can let your kids play Garden Warfare online, but not Gears of War.External USB 3.0 storage. This is great because, 1) you don't need to open the console and replace a hard disc to add storage, just plug in and the X1 will format the drive, 2) even disc-based games have compulsory installs and can be upwards of 50GB each, eating storage space quickly, 3) external drives can be spacious and cheap, and last but not least, 4) USB 3.0 is actually faster than the internal hard disc interface. This means that a game on an external drive will load faster than one on the internal drive, usually by a significant amount. The bundles-The current bundles include a newer controller that has a standard 3.5mm audio jack built in and output both game and chat audio through it. Legacy consoles shouldn’t be expected to be widely available at the suggested price (and some I haven’t included, due to their rarity at this point). You may have better luck at other outlets finding the legacy consoles (Microsoft Store, Dell, various brick-and-mortar stores). There are no functional differences. All bundles include a controller, HDMI cable, chat headset (with exceptions), and a 14 day Xbox Live Gold trial membership (paid $60/year service to play online and download the Games with Gold, a monthly rotation of full games you're free to download and keep (forever for 360 games and as long as you have Live Gold in active subscription for X1 games).Current bundles (with rating based on what you get for the money. Star and letter ratings are intended for the suggested price listed next to the bundle, not whatever current prices are.) -Spring Note - It's hard to recommend anything other than the Kinect bundle (if you want the camera peripheral), the Eilte (for the controller and faster HDD, if that's most important to you) or the Spring bundle (sold at Gamestop or Microsoft Store) which includes a 1TB console, Halo 5, Ori and the Blind Forest, Rare Replay, and Gears of War Ultimate downloads. Until the end of the month, the retail price of all bundles is $50 off. If you want to know more about all the rest, see the descriptions below.Rainbow Six Siege 1TB bundle. $399. Includes console, new controller, disc version of the title game and downloads of the Rainbow Six Vegas Xbox 360 games, with a chat headset. A new class-based multiplayer shooter with the excellent tactical precursor campaigns. A good bundle. A- rating. The Division Bundle 1TB bundle. $399. Includes console, new controller, download of the title game. No headset, no legacy games. B- rating.Quantum Break 500GB White bundle. $349. Includes console, new controller, and downloads of Quantum Break and both Alan Wake 360 games. No headset. B+ rating.Name your Game 500GB bundle. $349. Includes the console, new controller, a download of one of Forza 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War Ultimate, or Rare Replay, and no chat headset. The choice of games is nice and the selections are high-quality, but 500GB will fill very quickly at this point, and without a headset or bonus games, this is one of the lesser value bundles. B- rating.Xbox One Elite 1TB bundle. $499. Includes a console with a 1TB hybrid SSD and hard disc for quicker load times for the items you access the most and the Elite controller, which has replaceable/customizable sticks, buttons, and triggers for the professionals or tinkerers, and DOES include a chat headset with a matching black and silver color scheme. While the internal storage on this will be better than the standard HDDs in other X1s, the performance increase PROBABLY won't match external USB3.0 drives, due to the continued use of the SATA interface. There's little information about the size of the SSD partition and many hybrid drives don't allow you to choose what content is on which partition. The elite controller has been released to wide acclaim (modifiable professional controllers can easily go for twice as much), but is scarce on its own at present. If you want the best/most storage and best controller out of the box, this is the bundle for you, but you won't get any games with it. B+ rating. Please note that the bundle with two controllers does not include a second Elite controller, but a regular wireless one.Kinect 500GB Bundle - $399. Includes 500GB console, the Kinect camera, a chat headset, controller, and three Kinect-focused game downloads: Dance Central Spotlight, Kinect Sports Rivals and Zoo Tycoon. Finally another Kinect bundle! The X1 UI is made better and more easily navigable with the Kinect, and there are fun, energetic games to be played with it. A rating. Great for those who want to move and enjoy motion and voice controls, but it has little storage. Bundle with FIFA on separate page is even better for the same price.Holiday 1TB Bundle - $399. Includes 1TB console, Gears of War Ultimate Edition disc, Rare Replay disc, and Ori and the Blind Forest game download, the new controller, and doesn't appear to include a headset. A rating. Something(s) for everyone in this bundle, with 36 games included. Now replaced by the even better Spring bundle (see above).Halo 5 Limited Edition 1TB bundle. $499. Includes custom console with Halo sounds, and custom controller, with the Halo 5 Limited Edition (steelcase, guardian figure, game download and add-on content). Why a limited edition would come without a physical game is beyond me... It may not bother some, but it will upset many. This is a higher premium than the Forza 6 bundle (charging an extra $100 for an extra $40 package). For Halo aficionados/console collectors only. C rating.Gears of War 500GB bundle (also in white). $349. Includes Gears of War Ultimate Edition download. This 500GB model includes the new controller, but does not include a headset. B- rating. This is the most discounted bundle in sales and has many other offers with it, if you can catch them.Legacy bundles-Fallout 4 1TB bundle - $399. Includes 1TB console, Fallout 4 game confirmed to be a disc (!), a download of the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3, and a chat headset. B+ rating. Two open-world RPGs for grownups.Rise of the Tomb Raider 1TB bundle - $399. Includes 1TB console, downloads of Rise of the Tomb Raider, DLC, and its predecessor, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and doesn't appear to include a headset. B+ rating. The Tomb Raider reboot from 2013 was pretty good and I expect the sequel is even better, but I haven't tried it yet. Great for adults who love action adventure.Lego Movie 500GB bundle - $349. Includes 500GB console and the Lego Movie Videogame and no headset, apparently. C+ rating. Game is a cheap one and good for kids, but little value in this bundle compared to others.FIFA and Madden 16 1TB bundles. $399. I'm grouping these together because other than the type of football you prefer, they are the same. Both include either the latest Madden NFL or FIFA soccer game download and a year of EA access, a paid ($30/yr) service which allows Xbox One users early access to EA releases, extended demos with progress that can be saved if a full game is purchased, discounts on EA games, and free access to the Vault, currently 14 full games. Great if you like EA's games. A- for each.Forza 6 1TB Bundle. $399. Custom Forza-inspired console with racing sounds and custom (new, with 3.5mm audio jack) controller, and download code for Forza 6 and extra content, and a chat headset. A- rating, though some may not like the custom design and sounds.Hope you found this useful.

I'm having so much fun with this
February 1, 2017
I'm having so much fun with this! I finally broke down and bought myself a gaming system, and I went with the xbox after a ton of online research and friend surveys. I'm glad I did. I use it as my tv hub for netflix, hulu, live tv, pandora, games, etc. The kinect is fun, because you can tell your tv system to turn on and shut down (I'm that lazy!). I just had surgery so I haven't played any games using the kinect, but I've played some in the past at a friend's house and I remember it being very fun! Overall, very happy with this purchase
good for amateurs like me
December 7, 2016
it didn't meet my expectations, the games are not great, console is making little sound but apparently it is expected, only giving one remote.
All n all i am not a amateur gamer so for me it is fine but i won't recommend it for hardcore gamers. It is bulky and doesn't look robust.
The initial setup and downloading of three games took hours for me, so please make sure you must have high speed internet
Great bundle for an even better price

Xbox One 500GB Console with Kinect Bundle (Includes Chat Headset) Great bundle for an even better price. Works as it should and I love it.
My hubby is disable and needs to be motivated to move more and some of the strategy games are great for his cognitive issues
January 26, 2016
We purchased this X box One for the whole family. My hubby is disable and needs to be motivated to move more and some of the strategy games are great for his cognitive issues. I also home school my girls and during the cold winter months it is hard to get them motivated to go out. This is used sometimes for PE. the games that came with it are fun but the Zoo one is a little boring. The Kinect is something to get used to for sure and the games system does not seem to come with much for instructions. All the instruction tell you is how to hard wire it but nothing on how to set up the game so you can play. The initial set up is time consuming but once its done you can start having fun. We may have had more issues do to the fact that we are not gamers. I would recommend this to a friend and it is neat how you can play with a friend who is not with you.
It's awesome. Wish thee were more kid games.
December 25, 2015
All of your entertainment needs in one. Games, tv, movies, and more. This is great. The Xbox one keeps suprising me. It can do so much. We have really enjoyed it so far. Only thing is I wish they had more kid games. So many of the games are not good for little kids. The console it's self is amazing. We love it.

Controller didn't work.
July 12, 2017
Had to buy a new controller :( Which pumped up the price to the original. Should've just bought it new. So sad.
Not exactly what advertised but it's ok
June 2, 2017
I was really happy I was getting the Kinect and headset with the console for the prize, however, when I opened the box it was missing the headset and the battery for the controller. The console itself seems to be working perfectly fine and thought it has a few scratches that can be overlooked it also came with a dent in the USB port (see pictures). This was not what I was expecting but it's also like ok so
Frustrating.. crashy as heck, painful to setup accounts for kids.
April 20, 2017
This may be the most frustrating device in my house, it crashes more than windows ME, and that's saying something. The Kinect authentication is a real pain, and it requires you to create accounts for all your children, another pain. When a new person passes by the screen while I'm playing a game, it usually crashes because it's trying to log them in in the background. What a pain in the butt. Don't buy this, get a PlayStation. I didn't return it, but only because my daughter loves the dancing games with the Kinect device.
Missing chat headset
July 26, 2016
Everything was fine with the exception that the chat headset was not included.
Product works great, however
February 21, 2016
Product works great, however, my son removed a bunch of labels that had been placded over the box marking it as "refurbished" when it was advertised as new.
Great bundle but missing chat headset
December 25, 2015
Arrived in great condition but the headset is not included. Very disappointed as that was one of the selling points for this bundle.

March 10, 2016
it stopped working. Put new batteries in it and still not working right. I've re-booted the system and re-synchronized them and the only thing it will do is turn the system on, nothing else. Didn't expect that to happen. I've been traveling so much I didn't get to return it in time.
Setup is lengthy and annoying
February 25, 2016
Spent an hour setting up; Haven't got to play yet. Set up is pain pain pain. Don't know why I would need to setup a Microsoft account to play. Why only after going through all the lengthy steps to set up a Microsoft account does it tell you a child cannot set up an account . The verification images are horrible, nearly impossible to see.
