Will dim any kind of bulb, any configuration correctly
September 12, 2017
Great quality. This brand is the only one I have found that allows you, after you install it, to finely set the "dimmerness" according to what kind of bulbs, wattage, and how many it is controlling. It truly works to dim ANY configuration of ANY kind of dimmable bulbs. It works for "regular" bulbs. It works for CFL dimmable. It works for L.E.D. bulbs. Setting it up is very simple and takes about five minutes, including reading the instructions, and putting the switch plate back on. I found this brand after much frustration with dimmer switches that just did not work. The brand comes in other styles. Another advantage is that if you decide to change the type of bulbs, you don't have to replace the dimmer ever again, just do a simple adjustment.
" Works great together. Quick to install
August 12, 2017
Purchased along with "Sunco Lighting 6 PACK - LED Candelabra Bulbs." Works great together. Quick to install. The lowest setting on the dimmer doesn't go completely dark but that's just fine; is low enough to just barely illuminate the room. When sliding it has a smooth feel and the lights dim gradually, seems to have easing and faring built into the circuit so it's never jolting even if you quickly shove the slider to the opposite end of the range. Overall, the best dimmer I've owned so far.
Works Great!

I bought dimmable LED lights for my dining room chandelier. My old dimmer couldn't shut them off for some strange reason. They would dim, but never shut off completely. I put this one in and love that it has a separate rocker switch to break power to the bulbs. The slide dimmer is smooth and works very well. Just make sure your power box where your current light switch is mounted has a neutral wire accessible in it. Some homes have remote switches that carry current from a junction box at the light fixture down to the switch. You can easily determine this by pulling out the switch and looking in the box. If there are two wires attached to the switch (one hot, the other switched), and nothing else is in the box, you do not have a neutral. Fortunately, my switch was between the power source and the light fixture and the neutral and hot wires pass thru the box.
Highly recommended

We have 8 of these in our house, all with LED bulbs and are very happy with their performance. All of our bedrooms have 4 can lights in the ceiling tray and these dim ten perfectly.
A-OK

Very happy with this dimmer, using it to control three dimmable LED's over my dining area. The install was simple, looks great and none of that buzzing noise some dimmers produce. Can also be wired for a three way installation if needed. A-Ok in my book

Works as expected; easy to install even for a klutz
October 27, 2016
Works fine; price is definitely right. Instructions for installation were easy. I'm not a handyman kind of person so I need good instructions. The only thing that wasn't meantioned was that the metal tabs on the side may need to be removed or placed under the other unit during installation. This is when there are two or three switches on the same wall plate. I guess that's common sense but I couldn't figure out why it wasn't fitting very well at first. Anyway, it works; lights are dimming and I like the slider part which gives me lots of option on how bright I want the light to be.
But it's good to have
May 23, 2016
I bought the Lutron S600 because it has a positive off switch. The "touch control" dimmer that it replaced would dim the LEDs, but would not turn them completely off. However, at the lowest S600 dimmer setting, the LEDs appear to turn off without using the off-switch. But it's good to have.Note: it is important to use LEDs designed to be dimmable. Ordinary LEDs may not work with certain dimmers, including this one.
Shiver me Dimmers!
April 3, 2016
I bought two of these dimmers for my living room track lights and am really happy I did. They were easy to install, are grounded and don't hum audibly that I have noticed. I love dimmers because they make lighting more functional. I now use the track lights all the time where before I didn't. These same switches at the local hardware store were $5.00 more apiece.
Great dimmer compatible with Feit LED bulbs
December 8, 2015
We wanted to replace our dimmer switches and we wanted to make sure that the new dimmers would be compatible with Feit LED bulbs that we would be soon converting to. I was slightly confused about the model number as the Feit page lists Lutron S600 dimmers as being compatible, but this model is S600H-WH. "S600H-WH" is listed on the outside of the package, but inside "S600" printed on the switch. The "H" indicates that this comes in retail plastic clamshell packaging and the "WH" indicates that the visible parts of the switch are white in color. Inside the package, there are screw-on wire connectors for connecting the switch to the circuit. The package does not include a faceplate, but this is probably for the best since light switches are often installed in various groupings.Overall, we've been very happy with the operation of these dimmers. There generate no noise during operation and there is no audible clicking sound when turning them on or off. We are using these to switch sets of 2 or 3 recessed lights. They worked great with either 65 W incandescent bulbs or the 13 W LED bulbs that we replaced them with (or a mixture of the two types of bulbs).
Don't be dimmer, get this switch!
October 22, 2015
We hooked this up to a ceiling fan with a high ceiling. We wanted to be able to adjust the fan speed without having to climb up on something to reach the pull-chain. Now, we have the fan pull-chain set on high, and we use this nifty dimmer switch to adjust the fan speed. No more climbing to adjust in the middle of the night! This seems like a nice switch, I expect it will last well and do the job for quite a while. We found the off location on this switch to be just a bit counter-intuitive. The off location is completely at the bottom, but, as you lower the control more power is applied (fan goes faster or light gets brighter). There is just a bit of a click at the bottom to get over before you turn it off. Not a problem, but may throw you for a bit if you don't know where it is.
Easy to install, great product!!
January 30, 2015
This outlet is just as easy to install as a regular single pole switch, which most lights seem to be (single pole means only one switch turns on one thing, double pole would mean two switches usually on opposite sides of the room control a single light)The switch does not come with the wall plate, but a regular rectangular switch wall plate would fit, around $2 a Lowes.I'm a 30 year old female and switched my outlets out all on my own with no trouble at all. This switch slides smoothly up and down for easy dimming at any brightness. I installed one of these in my bathroom because the bright lights make me so hot when doing my makeup with the lights on full power so with the dimmer I'm able to turn them down so I don't melt....lol.Some people don't realize this but to turn the light off you must slide the switch all the way down until it clicks off. I have had this exact same switch on my kitchen light for 10years and have NEVER had a problem.I highly recommend this quality product at a great price.

Dimmer Works..Would like it to allow more dimness.
August 24, 2017
Works well. The only change that I would desire is that the slide (dimmer) would allow it to dim a little bit more than it does as I am using it in my dining room and it is just a little too bright. My fixture calls for (3) 60 watt bulbs. I may have to change the bulb type or remove one bulb to get the exact lighting I want.
I also have the dimmer switch in a hallway and in the kitchen and in my living room and I still feel in all those areas that it still needs to be able to dim a little bit more that it is just not a drastic enough dim.
Good Dimmer
July 23, 2017
Dimmer works as expected. You cannot fully dim lights, at least LEDs which I am using these on. The toggle switch took a little getting ued to since it is a bit small. All in all, works well and was easy enough to install.
Works OK.
June 3, 2017
It works better with incandescent than with several LED brands that I have. All dimmable LED's, but with this dimmer, there are drop-outs. No flicker at dimmest setting, which is good, but unlike the Lutron SCL-153P-WH Skylark CL (a bit more expensive, but well worth it), this has very brief, occasional dropouts, and no fine tune adjustment for the dimmest setting.

April 20, 2017
These work well, they're a little wider than normal switches, so be mindful if you want to put multiple in the same box.

While not really a problem with the dimmer, make sure you buy LEDs (or other bulbs) that are meant to run off a dimmer. I found some of my older LEDs which aren't certified for dimmers work as long as there's no power fluctuations from the grid... the newer ones specifically purchased to use with these work perfectly through the entire dimmer range.
Great - buying again
May 7, 2015
Easy install. Works well. I have three different brands (a Cree,a TCP, and a G7) of dimmable LED in the light fixture and none make noticeable noise.A ceiling fan definitely needs to be wired separate from the lights. If your fan can be switched off using the same wall switch that controls the light, you'll probably have to pull a new wire for the fan.UPDATE: the factory default minimum brightness is maybe 30% of maximum, but it's easy to adjust to make the minimum much more dim. See below.I now have mine so it goes to about 10% of max brightness, which is as low as I can go and still have all three of these non-matched bulbs (with different responses at the low end) light up. Could go even lower using matching (or more similar) LED bulbs. The Cree bulb seems to work the best, no delay when turning on even at minimum brightness. None of the bulbs ever flicker. This dimmer works great. I'm about to buy another. The only thing I don't like is that the rocker-style on/off switch isn't quite as easy to find or use (e.g. with your hands full or when feeling around in the dark) as a traditional toggle switch. From Leviton's instruction sheet:Setting Minimum Light Level (Programming mode)1. Ensure the dimmer is set to the OFF position.2. Set the bulb selector switch to the LED/Incandescent position.3. Push rocker switch to ON position.4. Set the bulb selector switch to the CFL position.5. Raise or lower the slide control level to achieve the desired minimum light level.6. Set the bulb selector switch back to LED/Incandescent position.7. A momentary flash of the bulb will occur confirming the new setting.8. Push rocker switch to the OFF position.9. For dimmable CFL lamps you must return the bulb selector to the CFL position.

September 9, 2016
Work great, dimming 4 11 watt LED equivalent bulbs at a time an no issues, no humming. My only issue is the switch housing itself is very big and caused me a bit of trouble on installation fitting into a multi-gang setup. They are also very big depth-wise and having wires come out and not screw on connections makes them fitting in depth wise also tricky. On a side note, never have I purchased a switch from anywhere that came with a wall-plate. Those crazy enough to leave one star reviews for that are just on another level....ignore those reviews.
You light up my life
February 25, 2016
I originally bought a couple dimmers at my local Home Depot for $20+ each and my wife didn't like the design. I returned them and hit Amazon to find one. I found this Lutron unit and installed two of them very easily. The slider has a nice click so that you know you've powered it off. The slide is smooth and it appears to be well built. The price was right at aound $10 with free shipping (thanks Prime).
Nice slide dimmer for halogen and LED bulbs; great price
November 4, 2014
Nice economical slide-off dimmer, with a detent that stops at low-dim. I got it because it's recommended by to go with LED-maker Feit's recommendation. The low dim is perfect for the LED's lowest level, so you don't have to fool around find dim/off. But I have a fluctuation in my circuit that causes the LEDs to pulse down a little, so they fall from Dim into Off after a while. Not the dimmers fault.NOT for CFLs.
Good, Not Great
April 14, 2014
I have been using this unit for over a year (two of them actually) and find them to be reliable. However, you have to be careful to push the slider ALL the way down to turn the off (past a "soft stop" in the slider). It is as though they wanted a speedbump to keep the lights from going completely off. Odd and a little annoying...
Great for moderate loads (about 250W); significant buzzing with large loads (350W+)
October 6, 2013
I installed this dimmer in two incandescent light fixtures. One is about 200W, and it works great with no audible buzzing. The other fixture is about 350W, and both the dimmer and the light would buzz noticeably. Even at 100% brightness, the light and the dimmer would buzz. I ended up removing that one. It seems that the 600W rating is an upper bound - I would not recommend this dimmer above 250W. Below that, it works great.Near 0% brightness, the dimmer has a 'notch' so you can tell when it's supposed to be off. That's a small plus.

Does not dim down enough.
March 15, 2017
It's still too bright when dimmed down to minimum
Frustrating that flicker-free dimmers don't work for long
January 27, 2017
I installed two of these dimmers to control recessed dimmable LED bulbs (replacing older switches that were not compatible with LEDs). At first, I was pleased that the lights did not flicker, but they had very little dimming range, remaining quite bright regardless of where the slide was placed. When the bulbs got warm after being on for perhaps a half hour, they began to flicker. Adjusting the slide had little effect in the brighter range but seemed to help when the slider was in a lower setting, even if the bulbs were still quite bright. I have removed the covers and reset the dimming range according to the SureSlide instructions, and that works for a time, but after a few weeks, the dimming range contracts, the lights remain bright, and the flicker returns. Leviton's trouble-shooting advice to "refer to recommended dimmable LED bulbs" on the Leviton website does not help.
These are cheaper and the large slider button is nice to have
September 17, 2016
The dimming range is not linear for my LED lighting. I get most of my dimming at the bottom 25% of the slider movement. Adjusting the minimum dimming range, as specified in the instruction manual, has no effect on this. I ordered a pair of these to try out against the more expensive dimmer from Lutron. These are cheaper and the large slider button is nice to have, versus Lutron's small up/down paddles, but the Lutron dims much better. I guess you get what you pay for. (~$17 vs. ~$31)
Don't really need a multi-bulb dimmer.
September 7, 2016
Nice quality and works great. It does not automatically accommodate different types of bulbs. There is a switch on the back for manually selecting the type of bulb, which means you must unscrew it from the wall if you want to change the bulb type. Also, how often will someone need to change to different bulb types? I've switched to all LED lighting and it's highly unlikely I'll be switching back to CFLs or incandescents, so probably don't need a dimmer to handle all three, especially when I must pull the switch out from the wall to do so. Also, the toggle-style on/off switch at the bottom is hard to get used to. I'm continually trying to operate the on/off switch as if it was a typical up/down style, like typical light switches. This has been a continual annoyance, even after months of use. For my next dimmer, I'll look for an LED-specific dimmer and one that incorporates a typical style on/off toggle.
Nice, but not great.
May 23, 2016
It's well made and has a nice amount of resistance on the slider . . . so you can easily set it exactly where you want. Easy to follow installation instructions. But it doesn't give me the full range of brightness with my 14w LED bulb. The lowest the dimmer goes is maybe 33% of original brightness. And brightness doesn't change in a 1:1 ratio with the slider. Moving the slider down the first 25% doesn't dim the bulb very much. Lowering it the last 25% makes a much bigger difference.

The recessed "can" lights worked fine with this dimmer
March 16, 2017
The packaging clearly says this product is for halogen and incandescent lighting. I took my chances with LED lights and had mixed results. The recessed "can" lights worked fine with this dimmer. As others have said, the range of light (dim-bright) is not as dramatic as I had anticipated, but it functions. Not so lucky with my track-lighting fixtures using GU10 LED replacement bulbs. On those fixtures I experienced a lot of flickering/strobe-light-effect that only went away when I upgraded to a dimmer switch designed for LED lights.I'll be buying actual LED dimmer switches for my LED fixtures and moving these switches to the bedrooms that use halogen lighting.

March 31, 2016
Light construction, cheap feel. The slider takes a bit more force to turn off than I like. Maybe it will break in after a while and slide off more easily. Also the range of travel on the slider is small, it's a bit tricky to get the right amount of light.
Looks nice, functions mostly-well
March 25, 2016
Looks nice, functions mostly-well. I use a few of these to dim the lights on my ceiling fans. On some occasions, the lights simply shut off when the dimmer is turn full-on too quickly. If I'm more deliberate, it works fine. When it happens, I just turn it off then back on. The wattage for the lights doesn't exceed the switch ratings, and I've confirmed the wiring is correct. Beyond the issue, they work fine.
Used on ceiling fan
May 29, 2015
I used this for the fan in my bedroom. I don't understand why the dimmer is set up so that off is at the bottom, the highest setting is just above that, and the lowest setting is a the top. It's more logical to go from off and then increase as you get higher. Whatever. It works at least.

Bought as an exact replacement
July 3, 2013
I bought this exact same switch again because it's on a plate with 2 others, and I didn't want to buy 2 more dimmers. The dimmer I replaced was about six years old and was not often used, so I'm a little discouraged it already stopped working. If another one of these dimmers goes out I'll replace them all with another brand. The new one installed and works just fine, for now.

Flickering occurs with LED bulbs after awhile.
September 7, 2017
I purposely bought this Leviton product because of its historically good name. Unfortunately, when used with LED bulbs, after a half-hour of use, the bulbs start to flicker rapidly unless I turn up the switch to full-on. I bought dimmer-use LED bulbs to ensure this would not happen.

like a strobe light
September 6, 2016
I got this dimmer for my kitchen in June of 2016.

The reason I am only giving it two stars is in the past several weeks it has been rather humid. When the humidity is over 70%, the light flashes on and off, like a strobe light. This essentially means I can't use the light at all when it is humid. When I change it back to the regular switch I had before installing this, the flashing stops, so I know the issue is with the switch.

Not sure if I just got a dud, but I'm past the 30 days to exchange it. Since I can't exchange it anymore, I won't be buying this product again and instead will try another product.
For first few weeks glad I bought it; but then it lost most of its dimming power
August 30, 2014
I installed this dimmer in a bathroom, to dim LED lights, and for the first few weeks I was real glad I bought it. I varied the load between a maximum of 72 watts and 16 watts. Prior to installing it I had no idea my spouse would like super-dim bathroom lighting. After installing it, I was surprised to find that she preferred to turn the light down to its lowest setting.

However after a few weeks, the dimmer stopped dimming all the way, and now does not dim nearly as much as it did before. I speculate that this might be because the bathroom gets super steamy, because one family member takes very long baths, though we do have a 70cfm exhaust fan installed. So maybe it will work well in most bathrooms. So I'm going to try out a Lutron MACL-153M in hopes that it will last.

/-------------------

PROS:

I'm a novice with electrical wiring. This item is easy to install if you study the wiring diagram in the installation instructions, and understand that the incoming hot wire from the mains current is black and the outgoing hot wire to the light fixture is red.

CONS:

== one thing I do not like about this product is the lowest dim setting is not low enough. Or maybe the dim setting is low as is technically possible, given the electronics of LED bulbs.

== another thing I do not like, that seems to apply to all the modern dimming devices, is that all are sliders, and none use a knob that one twists. I think the twist knobs afforded great control.

I had done an Amazon search for LED light dimmers and this came up as a highly rated switch. I should have read closer as the package says "Halogen / Incandescent". However, in the reviews some comment that it works perfectly with LED lights. They must have different LED Lights than what I received as the ones that I had installed do NOT work perfectly with this switch even they are listed as dimmable. This switch has three positions effectively - Off - Low - & Medium.Well - Off to Home Depot and Lowe's tomorrow to see what they can offer.

Poor slide action when turning off
December 6, 2013
The action on this dimmer is pretty bad. It turns on easily with an easy flick up. However, when trying to turn it off, you need to apply significantly more pressure...so you can't just easily flick it up and down, on and off. It's a minor annoyance, but I don't want to be mildly irritated every time I turn off my light.I've had a lot of dimmers like this in the past, but never really had this issue. Seems like an easy issue for them to fix too...not sure why they can't have the same action turning it off as they do turning it on.Returning it for a different dimmer.
