Wow! This thing is so neat.I would recommend this to anyone with an old lamp with an annoying twist knob switch. There's enough length to place the power switch where you want it. For my purpose of reviving a cooked touch lamp this worked great. I simply by-passed that circuit & used this device for my off switch. I like how the one reviewer was clever enough to use this as a way to control a foot warmer. I'm sure this device could have other uses.

this is a great dimmer switch, I use it for an overhead light and have the switch on my desk. It has a great design in that the bottom is padded in a way that makes it stay on the table even if the whole cord is hanging off the side and pulling on it. The switch is responsive and satisfying when you use it, what i mean by that is, it has a very mild and even resistance when you slide the dimmer and a definitive click when it's moved to the off position. It doesn't slide around if your sleeve rubs over it and you know it's off when it makes the click. My OCD loves it.

BEST ever, just wish one could plug in more than one item or find it on a dark floor if it falls off the table. Found a local supplier, and purchased a couple more in white. Not pretty on a dark floor, but much easier to find. Does not work well with most LED's (they go more yellow or flicker as they are dimmed, even if considered dimmable), but that is not the fault of this product. This solved many problems for us.

I bought this for my wife because of others reviews that recommended it for use with the Hitachi Magic Wand in order to dial down it's intensity. Works great. Wife can't complain. :)

I needed to dim the rope lights that we have lighting the stairs, since all lights are apparently super bright these days. I wish that it had one of those plugs that bend 90 degrees (so it's flat against the wall), and then had the female plug on the dimmer part, but I can just use a short extension cord to make it flat to the outlet.Just be aware that you'll be about 4" out from the wall using this. I didn't really look at it from that perspective before I bought it, and it didn't really work out.

This does exactly what it says on the package. I bought it because I strung up fairy lights on my headboard but I found them too bright for trying to sleep (yes, I'm 25 and I still like a nightlight occasionally whatever). So I bought this. The first one didn't actually get sent to my address (something about my delivery address not existing even though it definitely does and I'm here), so they had to send a second one. Amazon was really great about getting the new one to me the next business day which was great. Anyway, this works just like you'd think. You plug it in, then the lights into the dimmer, and it...dims. Lights. It makes my fairy lights go from "electric city" to "oh man maybe there really are living things strung up in a line giving me enough light to feel safe". This dimmer was a good investment and I'm excited to try it out during Christmas.Word of warning: check your fairy lights before you plug them in! This is NOT for LED lights. I don't know if it would be dangerous to plug them in, but it might cause overheating, which can lead to fires! My fairy lights are not LED and they're under the max wattage, so the dimmer does NOT get hot or buzz or any of those weird things you might read in previous reviews. I have the dimmer itself suspended so max air flow can circulate around it, but neither the dimmer nor the lights have been hot to the touch, and I check pretty often. Please make sure you're using the correct type and wattage of lights for this!!!!Photos are pre- and post-dimmer with my overhead light off to show just how bright the fairy lights are.

This switch is very easy to install and comes with instructions for 2 way or 3 way installation. Just follow the sheet and you can install it less than 5 minutes. Cables are color coded and matches the instructions. 3-way cable is labeled and instructs to use it only if you are installing a 3 way switch.LED light does not bother me and it makes switch easy to locate. You can either use on/off switch to turn off the light or you can slide the dimmer to off position, extremely easy to use.Box itself does not come with a face plate, some of the other switches I purchased came with a face plate so it may be good edition to the product itself.Overall very happy with it and highly recommend as a dimmer switch.

These are the nicest dimmer switches I've ever installed. The dimmer slider can be adjusted to desired brightness while the separate on/off switch keeps the dimmer where I want it. They were easy to install - the "pre-stripped" wire ends were easy to work with and the provided wire nuts made it a breeze. One of the switches I was replacing required three wires plus the ground and the other didn't. No problem for the Enerlite 50321-W switch. The small green light above the on/off switch makes it easy to find in the dark without being overly obtrusive. I will purchase these switches again when I'm ready to install dimmers elsewhere in my home.

They came right on time and were exactly as described and expected. Brand new out of box. My husband installed it quickly and it functions perfectly. I now have three beautiful pendant lights that I can dim to create a calming or romantic atmosphere.

I bought 2 of these for the same price as the original switches I wanted. I figured they would work for now and I would replace them later. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these. They don't feel like the cheapest dimmers I have seen in the big box stores. I am usinging them on each side of our bed to control sconces. The little led light is not annoying at all and helps to find the switch in the dark.I have only used them with led lights. I bought the cheap 3 pack ones at Costco. No problems what so ever. Most importantly, NO BUZZING!

I purchased a new light fixture for my dining room and wanted a dimmer switch. I knew nothing about what I needed for the electrician to install but the explanation for this switch helped me choose this one. It was easy to install and works perfectly. I love the little glowing light that shows when the switch is off. It is not for the CFL bulbs, but incandescent bulbs only.

And one-star for me. The listing plainly says not to use this for LED's. But, I saw LED in the description and missed everything else. I returned it after I saw it on printed on the box. What's the difference?A dimmer such as this is designed for the power draw consistent with regular lights. LED's and CFL's draw much less power, so their circuit may or may not work. Also, this dimmer lacks an adjuster to set the lower limit of the dimmer, which is a big deal for LED and CFL's so they don't just go out when you go to the dimmest setting.So, this is more an informational review. I can state that it was packaged well, and the instructions looked clear and easy to follow. Just don't buy this for LED's or CFL's, like it already says in about 20 different places.

I bought this product a little while back. I am using it for one of my gecko's tanks to regulate the temperature of their heat pad. I am rating it based both on my experience and how I imagine it would work with an actual lamp. It does exactly what it needs to do for my purposes. For other reptile hobbyists looking at this, definitely purchase this over one of the ZooMed or etc brands. It is cheaper and allows for a wider range of temperatures to be set. My ZooMed rheostat died because my sister plugged her hairdryer into it without realizing it was too much power for the rheostat (I don't think she even realized what it was plugged into). If you're doing this for a reptile, two things 1) you need an infrared temp gun too, because this of course does not tell you the temperature the heat pad is at, and 2) the one downside, and my reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is because the dimmer switch moves really easily. I use tape to keep the dimmer in place and check the temp of the heat mat several times a week in case I need to adjust the switch. I imagine this would also work well for a lamp. I imagine the switch might also move too easily for a lamp, however I guess it depends on your setup. Good little product, especially for the price :) I will buy the same one if I need one for another gecko.

Well, it gets the job done. The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is the description says the switch has a soft glowing light so you can find it in the dark. The ones I received don't have the light. Wishing i had bought the slightly cheaper ones that actually had a little light on the switch, would have served the same purpose. Probably not going to return it, but like I said, it's a little disappointing.

I noticed some people mentioned they experienced buzzing noise. It happened to me as well. I swapped out the two bulbs and problem solved. So it depends on the bulbs you use. I threw out the old ones so I don't have the details on the. Great product allows me to dim my lights while laying in my bed! also, minus the installation of the dimmer that goes into the wall. Great product. Glad I purchased two!

Great product. Works very well at dimming my lamp. Unfortunately, I purchased a 2nd one and it dimmed the lamp, though the light bulb also flickered, which rendered this useless for that fixture. That might be remedied with a different light bulb though. Perfect invention, especially for someone who is sensory defensive, such as myself and needs to adjust lighting based on their mood. Perfect for anyone who doesn't own a dimming light, that wants one.

This switch works really well and hasn't quit working yet.Although mostly plastic, it feels solid and well made.The switch control is smooth and slides without much force or effort.I took off 1 star because there is no LED indicator to let you know if it's on or off.The switch is not labeled with "ON" or "OFF" either.They make another model with an LED indicator.Not a big deal but worth mentioning.Overall, I'm happy with this item and recommend it.

I use this as acne treatment. I was going to get the Zeno but then read that you can just apply heat to your face and it would do the same thing. This is a cheaper and it actually works!! I have cystic acne lately and anytime one surfaces I just apply heat to my face with this little light bulb that I got separately (Darice Light cord) and I can control the heat because I bought this lamp dimmer to go along with it. I just pay attention to how hot my skin is feeling so I don't burn myself. I usually hold it on to my skin for a minute at time for about 3 minutes all together. I am so happy I got away with spending $16 as opposed to $200!!!

I bought three. All of the green light keep blinking when switch off. is that normal? Otherwise, work fine.

For the price, it's reasonable. I purchased it to replacean old worn out (internal circuitry is my guess) switchthat looked identical to the one pictured - Only to discoverthe actual sliding switch lever was different in design thanthe old one.At that point, I didn't care to return it, after discovering itcould not be swapped out with the original one (the mountingprong) had a different profile compared to each other.

I have bubble lights hung in my living room and hallway and they're a bit too bright to relax at night time so I got this dimmer to tone them down. It worked great! Until I turned the brightness all the way up for more light one night...I think it was too much power going though this dimmer so It blew the fuse in the dimmer and broke. So I would recommend this if you're only trying to control a small amount of power.

I ordered these dimmers for late night feedings in my daughter's nursery and my bedroom. It works well with a couple of drawbacks. For one, it doesn't allow me to dim the light nearly enough. Even the lowest setting is pretty bright. My biggest issue is that it's not a smooth glide to turn on the light dimly. You have to "click" the light on and then dim it down a bit to the lowest setting. It's pretty jarring in the middle of the night.

When sliding to lowest brightness (not off), it sometimes just turn off in about 5 minutes. Disappointed.

It dims as expected, but emits a high-pitched buzzing noise while doing so. I'm not sure if this is expected, but it has happened with several brands of LED light bulbs. There isn't any noise when these light bulbs are connected without this dimmer.

I'm not sure if I received a bad one or not but I will keep it because it serves the purpose I am using it for. At the maximum power setting it is not as strong as if I had my device plugged into the wall it is somewhere around 80% of the maximum power. You can leave your device plugged in and go from OFF all the way from 1% of power and supposedly to 100% power. If mine did not throttle down the maximum power I would definitely give it 5 stars.

It works generally as described. But honestly I don't understand why it gets so F-ing hot! WTH? It's not a fire hazard, it just doesn't make any sense. Oh, and by the way, it doesn't work with at least the LED bulb I'm using.

The leveler is too flimsy, making it difficult to accurately and quickly get to the desired dim level.

I returned this dimmer because it didn't work well with my dimmable led bulbs. Its possible the bulbs were the issue but I tried a few with same results.

When we plug this in it causes the lights to emit a noticeable buzzing sound. I cannot say for certain if it is just this brand of lights or if it is the dimmer. The dimmer works great, but I sit next to the lamp and the buzzing is very noticeable. It is worth mentioning that I was in the USMC I worked on helicopters in the Corps. and aircraft in the civilian world. In a hearing test, I was rated as having over 30% hearing loss, and I can still hear the buzzing over the tinnitus. I wish I could give a better review. The lights do adjust nicely, so that part does work. Maybe your lights will not buzz. I will try other lights to see what happens. I will not return it, it's not the sellers fault.

Well, it works. The dimmer settings go something like "100% - 60% power, then off". Seriously I plugged a lamp into this dimmer and my options are bright, very bright, and completely off. This is really too bad, I own another dimmer which allows me to get the same lamp very dim by taking the power (and thus the light) down to maybe 5%.

This dimmer may work for some but when I tried to use it with my bedside lamp, anything between fully on and off made the bulb flicker instead of dim. I thought perhaps my bulb or lamp wasn't compatible with the dimming feature so I gave up there.After leaving the lamp fully on for about ten minutes, it started making a horrifying electrical buzz followed by a burnt smell coming from the light bulb socket.On the other hand, the overall build quality of the switch was impressive with little rubber pads on the bottom to keep it in place. I would have really liked this switch to work.Unfortunately, I had to send it back as I have no other use for it.

I tried this on two different lamps with two different types of bulbs (one incandescent, one standard bulb, neither LED) and it wouldn't work as a dimmer. It would make the light flicker then it'd just turn it off, and it wouldn't come back on until I manually turned the lamp back on. I am unsure if I just got a defective unit or if my two lamps somehow are not compatible.

They need to include a disclaimer for LED bulbs. I am going to order their other dimmer, slightly more expensive, which they claim is effective for LED. This one only gives two settings for LED: full bright and very dim. I need something with settings that are gradual, like a true dimmer.

The lowest setting is still pretty bright and you can't even turn the lamp on on the lowest setting. You have to turn the lamp up to the brightest setting before the light will even turn on, then you can back it down to a dimmer setting. Not ideal for our nursery lamp, which is what we bought it for. Set up was easy though.

I had one buzzing really bad and another didn't workWhen I sent it back I got another that didn't work and one that worked fine.

I was never able to get this 3-way switch to work and finally the wires got too short from breaking off to be usable.

This switch lasted 355 days. On the 356th day it quit dimming. I was driving a lamp with six 40 watt incandescent bulbs. The switch is rated at 700 watts. The lights would not turn on. The green LED barely lit when switched on. I am going to see how well the 2 yr warranty works. I will update this post the results. I also ordered a replacement using Amazon Prime. The price has dropped $2 since a year ago.

This is a really cheap dimmer switch. It has buzzed from the day I installed it and now after having it install for about 9 months it has become flaky and you have to wiggle the switch to make the lights come on

Junk. You get what you pay for. Sliding mechanism for dimmer is VERY flimsy. Spend a bit more, get a Lutron.

I bought this because I stayed at someone's place that had one and it was fantastic and made life easy and made the bedroom lights dimmable. However, at first it wouldn't dim and it just made my lights flicker. Then I went out and bought dimmable bulbs and give that a try. Now it's still works poorly; the lights randomly shut off, often, does not matter if you have touched it or are even in the room and the lights still flicker from time to time. A complete waste of money.

Cheap feel but mainly this "dimmer" has only two resulting effects: really dim and not so dim. Lamp does not operate at full bright at any setting. Should have bought a leviton.

Shorted out shortly after use. After about 10 minutes of use, the light turned off and wouldn't turn back on while this was plugged in.

Flickered like a strobe light. Would not dim. Just functioned as on or off. Amazon was great and sent a replacement but it was worse than the first one.

Did not like this dimmer at all. It makes an annoying buzzing sound when plugged with my vanity lighting. Even worse, when you adjust the dimmer so that the lighting is darker, the sound gets louder. This is getting returned for sure.

I plugged this into my lamp and my electrical plug, and as soon as I turned on the lamp the dimmer started making this infernal buzzing noise that sounded like electricity was about to go haywire.On top of that, it didn't work. Turning it down wouldn't do anything until I hit the very bottom, when it turned my lamp off. Turning the dimmer up just flipped my lamp on.I tried this on an IKEA floor lamp as well as a more pricey silver floor lamp that is able to naturally dim with the right light bulb. for reference.

Defective. Electrical flow does not shut off. Sending Back. Would not recommend

Finally got around to having these installed by a professional and one of the 2 wouldn't shut the light off all the way. So now we have to pay the electrician to install a better dimmer switch. Would return if I could but our return window closed. I don't recommend.

This dimmer does not hold up to the wattage is claims it will and overheats to the point the screws are too hot too touch. I was scared it would start a fire and we disconnected it.

Worst installation instructions ever. Did not match wiring of existing 3-way switch. Do not buy it. They also cheapened out without providing a matching wall plate.After a few months, it no loger works
