The Wii U Charge Cable for GamePad by Tomee was a lifesaving replacement for my house. Our cat decided to have a snack of the charging cable that came with the Wii U system that Santa brought. It was winter break and bad weather so there were kids in the house, unable to go outside and little to keep them occupied. The charge cable was the right price and with Prime, arrived in two days. This cable is much thicker than the original one and is very long so that my son can use his gamepad while it is charging. These replacement cables can run $20 to $25 at Target or Best Buy so I was thrilled to find a reasonably priced replacement. I was a little concerned when we first opened the charge cable as it didn’t look exactly like the one that had been chewed through by the cat. But I quickly realized this one was better as it plugged into any USB adapter which made it easier to use. Once again amazon comes through with exactly what I need at the price that meets my budget and gets it to my house in less than three days.

Our stock game pad power adapter went bad and my wife got a replacement, the replacement was generic and caused screen flickering and power issues. So I got her this one because of the reviews and because of the philosophy "you get what you pay for". And it worked. There is no more screen flickering or power issues with the game pad. The cord is also long and no annoying power brick in the middle.

It works great. My dog chewed up my old wiiu cord and I went to every store in my town and the surrounding area too, trying to find a replacement cord. Yet no one sold them and couldn't even order them. Finally one store said they could but it would be around 40$ plus shipping. I said he'll no, then while buying my kindle books I thought I would check if they sold the cord. Not only did they but even with shipping it was under 10$. I couldn't believe it. I thought why not. Two days later my wiiu is working again. I recommend this to anyone who needs a charger. Works on the tablet and the charger station

In line with a lot of other reviewers, this cable does not supply enough juice to keep the gamepad on with full brightness and charge. I have it plugged into one of my most powerful USB to AC plugs and It can maintain power but the charge light turns on and off and the screen goes bright and dim (just has it would if you plugged in the Nintendo AC adapter and unplugged it). To resolve this and charge while playing I have to have the brightness on the gamepad set to 1 or 2 (out of 5). Which really isn't that big of a deal for me.The cable I received was 10ft just as is says on the product image which was a pleasant surprise. 10Ft is really nice.The GamePad end is snug and fits nicely. It doesn't wiggle around like the Nintendo AC plug does. I like this fit. It's not too tight and not too loose. Feels just right to me.Overall this is a pretty decent product. I use mine on my couch about 10-15 feet from the console and TV plugged into a USB/AC adapter. I'm considering purchasing another one for the gamepad charging stand.

Cheap and perfect for what I needed. Better than the one that comes with the Wii U as you can plug it into the console itself. You can also just plug it into the wall using any old usb based phone charger ac.

Charger is great if you need to be able to move the controller a distance away from the unit. It's also nice because it plugs into a usb port, not a wall outlet, so you can charge it in several places. It does not come with an adapter to plug it directly into the wall. It also works to maintain a charge while in use, but it does not charge the controller well at all if you use it while you charge it. Overall decent product, but the lack of charging while in use is frustrating to our son who hates using anything attached to a cord. Lol

Works great. Live many others have reviewed, this is a better replacement than the original power brick cable. Having the system charge the gamepad is a lot more useful since you can always sit in front of the unit (my kids no longer have to sit along the side wall and look at the tv at an angle. I would recommend this before replacing with a wall plug replacement.

Didn't work. Looked OK coming out of the bag but I plugged it in and nothing. I tried some other cords and none of them worked either and they all worked (including this one) on a different Game Pad so I am forced to conclude that the problem is a bad connector on the Game Pad and not a problem with this cord/charger.

I plugged this charger into a USB hub and then I plugged it directly into the gamepad and it charges it just fine.However, when I tried plugging this into a Wii U cradle while connected to a USB hub, the gamepad power light would blink on and off. Apparently the USB hub was not providing enough power to the cradle. When I used an AC adapter to plug this cable into a power outlet, it worked just fine. Something to keep in mind if you plan to pair this cable up with a Wii U cradle.

Hi All,I recently picked up this cable as a way to charge my gamepad, but found it was for the Wii U Pro Controller. The product description and image provided was a bit misleading. Even though it was not what I expected, I did need it.I use this for Either the Wii U Pro Controller or for charging my PS3 controller. It works well, no drop outs, but the cable was kinda stiff. Maybe a bit of a negative but it needed to be addressed.Overall I think it was a good buy.

This is a good extra charging cable for the Gamepad. This is good as the Gamepad dies between 2-3 hours of gameplay if the screen is on full brightness, which is the default. I leave the one that was included connected to the charging cradle, and have its cord run behind furniture so it isn't something I want to move back and forth. Also, Nintendo's charging cable is about $20, and has a power brick in the middle of the cable.This cable just plugs into any USB port with power, and at 10 feet, it gives plenty of room to play, and even pass between players as needed. I use an iPhone wall adapter and plug this cable in. The plug is a snug fit, but that just keeps it from popping out.I just wish it was available in black, as the black Wii U was the more popular of the two, and is what I have. I can definitely deal with a white cable at this price though! The Nintendo one is grey, not black, as well anyways.

The cross button did not work the first day I got it and the bottom joystick did not work after two weeks. But anyways great product works for Windows 10 if wondering.

It would be better if the shoulder buttons were less clicky. They basically get stuck sometimes. The sticks are a bit stiff too. Hard to rotate on FPS. Other than that I like it. I use it on my Pc for Modern Combat 5. It's not bad although it could be better but I can't complain because its a cheap controller and a knockoff of Xbox controller so its not bad for the price.

Works fine, feels much less solid than that name brand however. Right bumper sank in and became hard to use after a couple weeks of use.

I knew going in this was going to be a knock-off controller and I was right.Comparing it to the real thing --> The Cable is shorter and uses harder plastic. Don't expect it to be as flexible. It's also not detachable so don't trip over it.-> The thumb sticks also use a harder plastic, not as pleasant as the genuine article.-> It's lighter and that's not a good thing-> The xyba buttons are not as nice looking as the real one-> Certain buttons/triggers have wiggle-> Top of the device says "Xbox360" instead of "Microsoft" like the real one-> Thumb sticks have a large deadzone which causes them to be jittery.-> Triggers don't have the signature feeling you get from an xbox controller.The only thing this controller has on the actually controller is price and the nice click that the thumbsticks make when you push them down. Otherwise the savings on this controller aren't worth the features you lose.

it did its job

This was a good, cheap replacement. However, my boys are a little rough with chargers and this one is already a little messed up. We have only had it a couple weeks and when using the charger the cord has to be wiggled a little to get it to charge. It still works but will probably have to replace it soon.

They work, but they don't stand up too well to being bent and I have to replace them every 8 months or so.Update: my latest purchase of this item now only lasted four months. The item is used by responsible adults, not children, so this cycle is getting pretty frustrating.

I've had this for about 6 months or so after our original was chewed by our cat. It's very long and has always worked great until about a week ago. It's like it doesn't make good connection. I have to bend the cord a little so that it'll start to charge and it sometimes makes the wii u screen glitch if my son plays while it's charging. If it tears completely up I'll just spend the extra money and get an official wii u charger.

this charger is decent for what i payed the usb functionality is the worst thing about it but it's an easy fix. since if you plug this into your wiiu to charge your gamepad the wiiU must be on but we know it shuts off automatically..it also causes the game pad to act funny if you play with high brightness, maybe because it is weaker than the original charger. it seems my gamepad is never fully charged, but i think a solution is to get an adapter for an outlet so you can leave your gamepad charging whenever you want.

It seemed to work well in the beginning, but over time It would stop working in certain positions. It's gotten to the point where you have to hold the wire in a certain way to make sure the gamepad is charging. Luckily it's not too finicky and there's a somewhat wide range of positions it will still work in.

The controller is cheap and it shows. It's mostly fine, but there is an infuriating dead zone in the middle of the joysticks where the controller does nothing. As such, fine control with the joysticks is utterly impossible, making some games nearly impossible to play. Some games are alright with it (Bastion for example), but the one game I wanted a controller for the most, Skyrim, was impossible to play.

Poorly made. Fell wires stopped working after a few uses. You can feel that the wires are loose where the cable connects to the plug.

I bought this item because of the price and I liked that it is a USB based plug and a long cord, which is convenient. This was a good temporary charger, and I say this because it did not last to long... maybe 2 months. There appears to be a connection problem inside the cord's wire.

Originally thought this product was awesome- it's long and allows me to keep my game pad charged while playing! Unfortunately I've only had the cord for a couple weeks and now when I plug it in, it causes the screen on my game pad to flash and flicker. Tried unplugging, exiting games, restarting Wii, etc and still see flickering.

Stopped working properly after about a week. The connection on the Gamepad's end has to be at a certain angle to maintain connection and sometimes does not work at all. The wall charger that came with the Wii U stays connected and charging at all times without any issue at all, so it's not the Gamepad.

The product pictured when purchased is of a 10 foot cable, what I received was a 6.9 foot cable. The description does say 6 foot cable, but I didn't notice that when I ordered, and ordered based on the picture. It also appears to be a different brand (not that I care about brand). I'll make it work, but it is disappointing as I will not be able to use it as originally intended, plugging into the Wii U's USB port and be able to lounge on the chair.

***UPDATE***So I ordered a second one and the same thing. The cable does not transfer quite enough power somehow. When plugged in and playing, the screen will flicker and the charging light will blink when the Gamepad is taxed (vibration, audio, etc). It doesnt seem healthy for the GamePad, in my opinion. Im sending both back and buying the Nintendo brand charger. The fact that both cables did the same thing, leads me to believe that either nobody is noticing this (not looking down at GamePad when you play) or nobody cares. Anyway, as usual, you get what you pay for.I'm now returning both.--------------(Original Review)Well, I can vouch for the fact that I got the correct cable for the Wii U GamePad, but my problem is I may have a faulty one... When plugged in, the GamePad screen goes through seemingly random periods of flickering. Even the orange charge light will slightly flicker as the screen does. So either not enough power goes through these wires, or I have a faulty cable. If your'e not looking at the screen you probably wouldn't even notice it as you play, so Im wondering how many others may have this issue and not know about it. Anyway, Im going to set up an exchange and post back my experience with the new cable. I am currently giving it 2 stars because it does charge, but I am afraid it could short something on my GamePad.

About a week after getting the product the right bumper started sticking but still worked, so I let it go. Didn't use to much then picked it up later and the left bumper is completely unresponsive. The controller feels nice, but it won't hold up long.

I love XBox 360 controllers! They fit great in my palms, gently massaging them after a hard day's labor! There is great maneuverability in the toggles and all the buttons work great! But I'll never know about this one because I never received it! It's been two months since I ordered it and it was supposed to have come in by July 23rd!

I got this for my pc to pay skyrim. It worked for a few days then the left joystick broke, my character would move to the left without me touching the controller. Then after that the entire thing just broke on me. If i were you just buy the real thing. I definitely learned my lesson.

When I grew up there weren't problems with controllers like today. This is the second one I bought that doesn't work. I spent 5 hours trying everything, videos, drivers, menus, options. Oh, it will test out saying its working, but as soon as you play a game I bet you it will not be recognized. If the gaming industry has crippled us on controllers, why would we buy games? Duh, get it together and have universal standards the way it used to be. I haven't been this pissed off about anything in years. Save yourself the agony and trust me.

Mine worked all of 5 minutes then nothing. Not worth getting another one from them. I will go with another company. there is a lot of play in the cord.

Before a month they were broken, no misstreatment at all, does not last as expected.

The original charger worked for over a year without issue, only to be sabotaged by my cat chewing through it. I tried this out as a replacement, but it died in almost exactly 3 months with a problem where it only worked when at an angle from the gamepad and as such you had to bend the cord in increasingly ridiculous angles to make it work. Finally, it couldn't charge anymore no matter how much I tried to angle the cord. Replacing it with an official Nintendo one this time.

My 14 yr old purchased this cable about 3 times in the past year. Each time it would last about 2 months. Not a good cable, maybe your better off buying the authentic cable from the Nintendo website.Update: After this review I purchased a used Nintendo charge cable from the Nintendo website. I paid almost $20.00, but it was worth it. My 14 year old is still using the Nintendo charger. If we bought this Tomee cable back then, I'm pretty sure we would've bought at least 2 more up until now. Better off purchasing the Nintendo brand.

Terrible. It stopped working only a few months after buying it. We have to VERY carefully finangle the cord and remote to get it to charge and even that has been getting steadily worse.
