Making Pig Less Piggy
June 18, 2017
Bought for my pot belly pig. There was no learning curve. He understood what to do right away. It works perfectly with pig pellets which are pretty small (cylindrical and maybe 1/4 inch long). I wish the product description showed the rest of the packaging. Because the food or treats you use do have to be pretty small and there is an image how small on the package. Also, even though my pig is small, I am glad I got the 4 inch version. Small enough to fit in your palm. Only a little bigger than a tennis ball. I can add more food even with the dividers in place. You can change the difficulty of the treat ball by adding or subtracting dividers (white, blue, and yellow in picture). It does extend meal time and makes him have to work to get his food. I haven't had any problems with it coming unscrewed. I like that it is easy to clean.
Best Toy I've Ever Bought My Husky
April 21, 2017
I have a 5 year old husky that gets terribly bored when she's stuck inside. We started her out with just the one insert and she quickly figured that out and we had to move on the most advanced version of the puzzle. My Siberian husky is about 45lbs (kinda small even for a female) and it just barely fits in her mouth when she picks it up. Which I think is good because it's too big to chew on the hard plastic. We cut up tiny pieces of slim jims as the treats and watch her go. I recommend picking somewhere where the ball can't roll under furniture. It's annoying having to get it out from under things constantly. I usually use old blankets like bumper guards at a bowling alley to keep it in the middle of the room for her.
Fantastic toy for a puppy
March 11, 2016
Fantastic toy for a puppy. Seriously if they are food motivated this will keep them busy for hours once they learn how to play with it. Seems very sturdy made and a Brittany is man handling it for hours a day. It is noisy on tile floor, but you'll always know where the puppy is. Better on carpet. It dispenses nicely. It's weighted so the food doesn't just pour out, they have to work for it. I love this product!
entertainment of snacks
January 22, 2016
my pups are very different; one is a chewer, and one likes these puzzle thingies. I got this because of an article I was reading on barkpost.com because of the great price (on amazon, not the website) and not fully expecting my puzzle solver to be intrigued by it. BUT I gotta say, he loves it. he cant get enough of it. and typically his attention sways after he solves the newest toy we get him, but with this one I think he just has a blast with it. Its great to see him engaged. We took his normal biscuits though and had to cut them down to size. Not all treats flow out easily so it may require some playing of your own to get the right snack.
We love this!

I have a miniature dachshund who is almost a year old. He got this you for Christmas and he loves it. It rolls on both the carpets and tile. But he usually plays in the kitchen because it rolls farther and faster. We put Purina puppy chow inside and it's the perfect size to fall out every so often to keep him entertained! I would definitely recommend!
My dogs love this! It's perfectly challenging for hours of fun
June 17, 2015
My dogs love this! It's perfectly challenging for hours of fun. They get so excited playing with it and I'm happy that it worked out. The 3-inch ball is great for toy/small breeds. The kibble and treats for this sized dog are the perfect size for this toy. The toy also comes with a guide and tells you which size treat/kibble to use. The photo attached shows a size comparison between the Roku remote and the toy.

ONE OF THE BEST TOYS FOR STUFFING AND FREEZING.
May 23, 2017
I have a mini and a small. At first, it seemed like the smalls were a bust - the puppy just wasn't very excited about them. At least I could fill the mini with wet dog food and freeze it, which would keep him busy for a while. But now I've realized that the smalls are REALLY GREAT for stuffing. I soak my dry kibble in water for a few minutes, drain the water, add a dollop of yogurt and some shredded cheese. I put the hol-ee roller in the bottom of a tupperware container and then stuff the kibble mix in through the holes. Yes, this is not an enclosed object, so some stuff will dribble out the sides/bottoms. But since there isn't too much liquid, most of the mix stays in place inside the ball. My puppy does better with this than with other objects where the food is frozen inside a closed cylinder. I haven't bought any large kongs yet, but I've used something similar from target. With the stuffed cylindrical toys, he can only lick at the stuff at the end, then he has to wait for it to defrost enough to knock the food out. With the hol-ee roller, he can access the frozen stash of food from multiple angles. This definitely keeps him engaged right from the get go. For reference, the puppy is about thirty pounds. The material seems to be holding up well, but I don't think the puppy is the heaviest of chewers.
Great toy! Versitile in design. EVERY dog should have one.

Acquired a "Medium" ball from a friend who has 2 medium sized young dogs. My 6 mo old 50lb Collie / Cattle Dog is a chewer. He loved it so I bought the large ball (this ad). I don't let him play 'Tug' with either ball (that's what the ropes are for) but he chews and chews and throws them in the air then shakes them and chews some more. I've had the medium ball about 4 mos now and the large ball for about 3 weeks. Both are holding up. Note: He has other toys and I rotate them throughout the day... usually depending on activities in the house.Let me say too, that I supervise much of his free playtime and am teaching him how to treat his toys... which ones he can play Tug with (ropes), which ones are for chewing (balls and bones), and which ones are for 'playing nice' with (stuffed and squeaky). So far, he's only torn up a few 'play nice' toys... but he's getting better. I never leave him alone with a toy that could hurt him if he did tear it into pieces. So far, he's not chewed on anything in the house EXCEPT for his toys. I think having balls to chase and chew, bones to chomp on, Kongs for stress relief, and stuffed toys for gentle and quiet playtime... and teaching him the difference, have really made a difference in the preservation of the toys. Oh... and we've named just about ALL of the toys...Kong, Red Bone, Pigley, Bacon Bone, Tug, Snort, Baby Bear, Hairy Ball, Bumble, Krinkles, etc... He's getting it.Back to THIS toy... the Waffle Ball, as I call it... it's good to have a ball that isn't 'hard' for the dog to play with and chew on. It's a ball, but it's also a 'nice' toy. The dog can expel energy chasing it while learning control too because it's not a hard chew toy like his bones. It's somewhat of a puzzle too... as he isn't quite sure if it's a ball or a toy. It rolls but it bends. It's got holes in it, but he can't quite get through to the other side. It's an activity ball! I think this is a great toy and every dog should have one.Hope this helps.
Easily my dog's favorite toy
October 31, 2016
So, my puppy goes absolutely crazy for this. We have two now (one for "Grandma's" house and one for home. Even without anything in it, she loves chasing it. She can flatten it with her paws, pick it up at all sorts of angles (She likes using her molars - teething - to pick it up with the side of her mouth. Guess it feels good maybe?), play fetch and even tug of war. I was skeptical she'd play with it, since she showed very little interest in any rubber toys at the store, but her trainer swore by it and you know what, she was right. The trainer's recommendation was to stuff it full of fabric scraps, twisting up treats inside the fabric as you did so. That way she's got to pull out the scraps of fabric to get the treats and nothing you love gets destroyed in the process. So far we've done that once and it occupied her for a good twenty minutes or so. I'll be packing it tighter next time. That said, the one con is that I recommend closely watching your dog with it. My pup is a 4 month old Rottweiler (small for her age, she's about 25 lbs) and she can get her bottom jaw wedged into the holes pretty good. It has yet to hurt her or even scare her, and each time she has managed to get it off on her own before I could intervene, but I can only imagine what could happen if I weren't there. So this is a strict "while playing with Mom only" toy. But she loves it.
Perfect for small dogs!
May 10, 2016
At first I was disappointed. My friends Pit Mix gnaws on this thing like a beast. I got the littlest thinking my lil guy would like to chew it. I was disappointed because it seemed small and flimsy for the $4... Wrong! My lil one gnaws and crushes it and it bounces back. She loves chasing it and crushing it in her tiny jaws. I'm always fishing it out from under the couch. She loves it, and that's worth it🐾
Tennis ball obsessed doodle loves this ball even more!
December 12, 2015
Our dog went crazy over this when I gave it to her. Has a nice bounce to it and is lightweight that she can easily Carry it around in her mouth. So far have only used it indoors, but the material is easily cleanable so would be great for both indoor/outdoor use.My dog: mini goldendoodles 22 lbs, 1 yr old
Perfect for our bunnies
March 12, 2015
This is the perfect size for our dwarf rabbits. Easy for them to pick up and fling. The ball is soft enough that if they accidentally (?) fling it at the other one no one gets hurt. Note these come in several sizes so please order the proper size for your pet. The "mini" is 2 in. internal diameter, 2.5 in. external diameter, and 5 in. external circumference - slightly larger than a golf ball and smaller than a tennis ball.

Quite challenging.
September 23, 2017
The inside of the hole has a little lip, so even without any of the inserts it takes quite a lot of working to get kibble out. The last 1 or 2 kibble sometimes don't come out. My cat will work at it for quite a long time before he gives up, and he is an experienced puzzle-feeder user. I don't like this quite as much as my football-shaped one, because that one stays in one area and this one goes all over the place. It can get rolled under furniture, where it might not come out or if it's under the couch, the cat might be eating dust bunnies along with the kibble, which I don't like the idea of. Plus you have to find it.I'm not sure I'll ever use the inserts, but it would be great for someone whose animal is 1. food motivated, and 2. has separation anxiety or some other need to be busy for a long time (such as a digger or chewer).
Overall met our needs, but didn't fit the kibble we had
September 20, 2017
Okay, so we got this treat ball for our dog because we wanted something to keep him from inhaling his food, and something that would give him something to do while we were at work. For the most part, it's met our needs and we're happy with it.Pros:- it's sturdy (he's knocked it into walls, picked it up and carried it around in his mouth, I've stepped on it, and no cracks)- it's easy to use...definitely easy to change out the difficulty level- it slows down his eating- we give him his breakfast in it and he likes to play with it while we're at workCons:- it's a little small for putting his whole meal in it. He only eats about a half cup in the morning and at night, and that fits in the ball. However, we can only add one of the disks to make it more challenging (to be fair, if we got a bigger one it might hold more)- although the product description says that it fits most kibble, that's not really what we found. It didn't fit either the kibble the shelter gave us or the one we bought. We ended up having to buy a new kibble (which we were going to do anyway, so it's fine), and even then it took a lot of looking in the store to find one that would fit.
Good toy
April 10, 2017
My dog likes this toy. Its got two inner disks that are removable making it easy to adjust the difficulty of this toy. Its super easy to clean and so far seems sturdy. I reccomend this to my training clients and so far all the dogs love this toy. We start easy with no disks and work up to including the disks one at a time.
Works for my lab!!
March 29, 2017
This was not a great toy at first. My sheltie and my Pomeranian were not interested. And then I rescued my Labrador retriever and introduced him to the ball. His way of playing with it is to take it apart and eat the treats. Since he is problem-solving in a different way, I consider this A success!
This has kept my not easily impressed dog occupied for hours.
June 24, 2016
My dog loves this thing! He will push it around the house for hours. I love that you can add parts to make it a little more difficult because my dachshund caught on pretty fast. Only reason I rate this a four and not a five is because it's all plastic and makes so much noise rolling across my hardwood floors. Also, everywhere my dog takes it he runs it into something. So when he's pushing it around in the living room it's beating up my furniture. Thinking if this was made of a different material it might be quieter and not so harsh on my furniture and floors.

Not a chew toy! Great for treats and play
April 7, 2017
I used this as a treat ball, sticking a long piece of chicken jerky through the holes and let my Aussie figure it out. Took her 15mins to get the 2 pieces out. It works great when used like this! However, she also managed to chew it up pretty good before I was able to take it away from her. This looks like a chew toy, but it's not. I bought two and used to second for my pitbulls. They would toss it around and play tug with it, and it's held up great, oddly enough. If your dog is a chewer, don't leave it out for them to gnaw on, it'll get destroyed and becomes a choking hazard. Fetch and tug are great! Would buy again, but maybe a bigger size.
bought the largest size and its perfect for a lab puppy
March 31, 2017
Dog loves this ball, we place other things inside to give her some additional activity to do. sometimes we use a tennis ball or treats and she loves chasing it. bought the largest size and its perfect for a lab puppy.Update - After a month our dog has been able to tear the ball, figured it to be a bit more durable, however i still would buy again, much rather have the dog chew on this and tear it up rather than the furniture, she does still love chasing this.
Brain fun for dogs
March 14, 2017
My dog (a standard schnauzer) is smart and gets bored easily during the winter months when the weather is bad and he doesn't feel like staying outside all day. He generally finds bad things to occupy his time (barking at passers-by or finding a shoe to run around with). The JW Pet Hol-ee Roller ball is one of the tools I use to help keep him busy doing good things so he doesn't turn to the bad ones. This ball is great for caging other toys or treats so he has to work hard and use his brain to get to what he wants. Whimzees has made their dental treats to fit snugly inside of the Hol-ee Roller ball so it becomes an awesome puzzle for food motivated dogs like mine. Other toys like smallish balls also fit in the rubber with a little elbow grease so they can't come back out and entertain for awhile. When I intervene and make sure my dog doesn't get to the treat too soon, this toy will entertain him for an hour at a time. However, my dog is a moderate chewer and has destroyed on of these when I wasn't paying attention to him playing with it without a toy or treat in it, so be cautious of that.
Smaller than I thought it would be but pretty sure it says the size in the description
November 5, 2016
Smaller than I thought it would be but pretty sure it says the size in the description. Maybe a little bigger than a golf ball. So it didn't work for what I wanted to use it for. Not real sturdy my black lab got ahold of it and bit threw parts of it. It it was intended for my morkie who doesn't chew things up or tear them up like my black lab. Over all pretty good toy for a small dog.
bouncy small dog toy
March 4, 2015
My dog loves this little ball. I expected it to be the size of a tennis ball but it's a good bit smaller.
Put tshirt scraps inside!
May 29, 2014
I bought this product and our dog is not as entertained with it as my friend's dog is. I saw on Pinterest that you can cut up old tshirts into strips and cram them into this ball, then give it to your dog. Our dog LOVES this! She gets the satisfaction of tearing something apart (pulling tshirts out of ball) without destroying anything. When she's all done, we just put the tshirts back in and she can play all over again. Much cheaper/easier than buying stuffed animals, watching her tear out the stuffing, and then throwing it away/re-sewing it back up.

I loved the previous model with the flat insert
August 26, 2017
I loved the previous model with the flat insert. This one looks more interesting (for people) but doesn't hold kibble without being a pain to put back together. I use these balls to feed my fast eating dog and to keep the cat amused and also away from the dog's food.
The dog approves
May 11, 2017
This is a fun toy for my dog. He loves to throw it around and chase it. However, no matter how tight I screw the top to the bottom, he always manages to get the two pieces apart. Which leads to him taking the center piece out as well. No real regrets on the purchase. Just know that you need to watch your dog so the toy does not end up dismantled.
The dogs will play with it if it's the only toy available, but they prefer other interactive toys over this one
April 15, 2017
More a 3.5 star -- with all the layers inside, I don't know how small treats could find it's way out. I struggled to get the treats lined up right to make them come out. The saving grace was the fact some of the layers can be removed, so it wasn't a complete waste of money. The dogs will play with it if it's the only toy available, but they prefer other interactive toys over this one.
Small
May 4, 2016
This is small. It doesn't hold a lot of treats/kibble and you definitely have to have small treats/kibble. It rolls well and dispenses well but it just doesn't hold a lot. It will be fine for treats but I won't be able to use it for feeding. I would have to refill it too many times to use it that way.
Not great
March 22, 2016
Great concept, poor execution. The ball is made of rigid plastic. It would be great for a small or toy-sized dog who couldn't get it in their mouth or pick it up, or for a medium dog that doesn't chew, but for my large labrador, I'm afraid he will shatter the plastic if he tries to chomp on it. Also, I couldnt' get more than a half-dozen treats or pieces of kibble in the compartment at a time. This means the experience lasts for less than 60 seconds. We'll stick with the ball made by ToysRUs - it's made of a softer, more pliable plastic and still has a puzzle-style inside, and is cheap enough to replace if it gets chewed to bits.
He looks almost like a cat knocking it around the house
February 24, 2016
My dog is a very energetic dog and this has kept him busy for a while now. He looks almost like a cat knocking it around the house. The only issue that I have is he was able to knock it open where it twists shut after playing with it for 15- 20min. I wish it were more tough in that aspect.

Holes TOO big, Treats fall out immediately.
September 8, 2017
It's an ok item. Looks durable. I have the size smaller (Medium?, Red) which is awesome, but was thinking when my lab puppy gets bigger, she'll need a bigger more durable chew toy. I like the ability to hold treats and bounce around. My dog likes to swat it, pounce on it, and hold it down and attach it, especially when there's a treat inside. It takes her awhile to figure out how to get the treat. The size below is perfect for a large milk bone, or the Costco Kirkland milkbone, and works great. This larger size, has HUGE holes. See pic. The tag says "Holds Treats", but what kind of treat would you put in here that wouldn't fall out? A rotisserie chicken? or a porterhouse, maybe? I might return it. Without a treat, it's still a decent chew toy.
Dogs love this ball, but not for aggressive chewers
June 6, 2017
My terrier plays with a lab who adores this ball....the only problem is that she chewed this ball to pieces, then began to eat the pieces! That's why I bought this, as a replacement for the poor lab's destroyed ball! Beware not tough enough for aggressive chewers, and apparently tasty.
Hol-ee toy

This is fun to put cookies in and let the dog work on it. He did figure it out after a little though. Would like the holes a bit smaller to challenge him more. The quality of the rubber is very good though.

My puppy loves it. He carries it around, drops it and it rolls and he chases it. He absolutely loves to play with this thing. I have a large breed puppy and this ball size was perfect. I was actually afraid it might be a little small when I first ordered it. I was happily surprised at it's size. (That's what she said!)Update: I still really like the ball, but don't let them use it unsupervised. My pups destroyed this thing one day into a bunch of little pieces, I'm still not sure if one of them swallowed any of it.
Great toy - BUT can be destroyed by a tough chewer
November 19, 2015
This is a great, fun toy - but with a big caveat. It can be chewed to pieces. It is easy to toss, and easy for a dog to pick up. Also easier for you to get from the dog's mouth than a ball. BUT - and this is the caveat - it is easily torn apart by a "tough chewer". We've had all kinds of chewers - once had a Labradoodle who could destroy black Kongs. Our latest puppy has turned out to be both. Originally she was only a "modest" chewer, and we let her play alone with this. Then one day I noticed she had bitten through a couple of the sides. She must have swallowed the pieces with no ill effects. Our older dog will play with this without damaging it - she even bounces it down the stairs and fetches for herself. I now see that this company has a tougher version which has gotten very high marks on its durability from some people. Some say they see no teeth marks after months of use. I have ordered two but will monitor for signs of damage carefully.

Easily breakable
August 31, 2017
The good news is my puppy likes the toy. The bad news is she managed to break it apart (so that it's come unscrewed and all the kibble has come out) in like 5 minutes flat. I screwed back together as tight as I could--she totally busted it within six hours.SO maybe not a good choice for a more energetic pup (mine is a lab/schnauzer mix)
Breaks apart no matter how tightly you close it
July 19, 2017
Pops apart constantly. Got it for our pig to make meals last longer. Food pellets are a great size for this busy ball but after she pushes it around for a few minutes it opens up and she just eats everything. She cannot fit it into her mouth so it's not being dropped like if a dog were playing with it, I don't imagine it would last any longer for dogs either. Waste of money.

The add on plastic inserts are cute but not functional, unless your dog is eating cat sized kibble the pieces literally do not fit.
I was disappointed in this ball
May 14, 2017
I was disappointed in this ball. Our dog doesn't play with toys and we thought this would be something she would like. We put Zuke treats in it and left out the inserts to make it easy for her. She sniffed at it a few times and gave up. The treats wouldn't come out unless we rolled it a certain way. It kept rolling one way like it was too heavy on the bottom. Too hard to get the treats out so she gave up. Looking for a different one.
Not worth it
December 21, 2016
Lasted 4 minutes and my Dachshund had it cracked open and destroyed. Not very sturdy and took forever for treats to come out and yes they were within the size limit.
Gave my dog a taste for destruction
June 18, 2016
My dog had a similar ball with just the center divider for nearly a year, and it was his favorite toy. I got this treat ball figuring the extra baffles would give him a little bit more of a challenge, since he had gotten so good at his first ball. Unfortunately, the baffles were more of a challenge for me in trying to load up the ball without spilling kibble everywhere.I also found that the kibbles would get stuck in the angles formed by the attachment of the baffles. I think this proved to be the ball's undoing, as my dog chewed it apart and destroyed it one day while I was at work. It was the first thing he has ever chewed up in the two years I've had him! Sadly, it was not the only thing he has ever chewed up, because the next day I gave him kibble in the similarly-constructed treat ball we've had for a year, that he has played with nearly every day with never an issue--and I came home to find he had chewed that up too!I do still love this style of treat ball, as it's so much faster to load than the kind where you have to stuff in treats one at a time, so it gets a couple stars. We will never get to use this style of treat ball again, however, as this particular model seems to have taught my dog that the best technique is total destruction.

Usually a great toy
August 26, 2017
This brand toy is ok. The last ball/toy I had was great. I'm a Labrador retriever kinda guy (specifically black labs) and I've gotten one for every lab I've had. I always stretch out a hole just big enough to put a tennis ball in for extra fun. Was just about to give this product 5 stars but as I'm writing this review my pooch is tearing it to pieces and got her tennis ball out. She had it 5 minutes and her tennis ball it out. My last lab had her tennis ball in it for years my current lab less than five minutes.
2 inches ... description is deceptive.
July 17, 2017
This is a cute little toy but the "mini" is very small. It would be ok for a small breed puppy ( Pomeranian, Yorkie ...etc) but I question the safety for my large breed puppy. The picture shown in the listing is not how this ball actually looks. The description gave me the idea that the ball is 2.5", but it is only 2" ( listing says 2.5" x 5.2" x 2"). It's a ball, for pete sake, it doesn't have 3 sides, lol. I will have to get a bigger one.

April 1, 2016
We had another ball by this company. Our 100 lbs German Shepherd loved it. After about 2 months he managed to start destroying it and I hopped on Amazon to replace it. Well the new one came. I am giving this two stars because he absolutely loved the thing. It would have had a much higher rating though if it would have lasted more than 12 minutes. It was completely destroyed in 12 minutes. Every single link in the ball was ripped apart. The last one we had was green and we bought it from TJmaxx or something for like $3.00. This one was definitely not worth $9.00 and I won't be buying it again.TL;DR Dog destroyed it immediately out of the box.
Very disappointed in the description as 'large'.
December 18, 2015
When they advertise this unit, they should be very specific about what they consider large. This ball is only 5" across (though my seller called it 6.5") and to me, that is not 'large'. We have a 70 pound dog, large but not giant and a 5" version is just too small, he prefers the 8" which is considered oversize or jumbo by these standards. If you're buying over the internet, then the seller really should specify the actual size of the ball by measurement and not leave it up the imagination of the buyer to guess how big or small 'large' actually is.Besides this, the quality of this dog toy is excellent and I would highly recommend buying one for your dog; just be careful to get the size you really want.
Different from earlier versions and not as good.
September 24, 2014
The problem with a toy like this (and the related reviews) is that, for many, it will be fine. It's a nice toy and, if you're dog is not a strong chewer, it may very well last. But, if your dog has strong jaws... this toy probably won't last. I bought one for my daughter's 6-month old Weimardoodle and he had sections of it broken loose in under 15 minutes. The reason I bought this is that my daughter has an earlier version of the toy that HAS lasted... and I thought I'd get another. But there is definitely a difference between the first and second toy. The earlier one has a logo stamped on it and seems to be a bit thicker and of a different (sturdier) makeup. So, even if you're had an earlier version you were happy with... you can't assume the new one will last as well. It's hard to find good chew toys for strong-jawed dogs. This isn't one.

Puppy got his bottom jaw stuck inside
June 1, 2017
My Pom puppy got his bottom jaw stuck inside and it took him about 5minutes to dislodge. In the meantime I am frantically calling the Vet and trying to help him. He was in so much pain. This is not for small size puppies or tea cup dogs. He was really excited to play and get the treats out but now is too scared to even come near it. To all furparents with small puppies, make sure that the hole is smaller than the width of the bottom jaw.
Bored By It Quickly

My dog tried it, got a few treats from it but, smart as he is, didn't have the patience for it. Amuch better choice for a dog that likes to chew is the Zogoflex by West Paw Design.
Hard Plastic
May 7, 2017
Found the hard plastic construction caused the ball to roll way too much. No instructions. Won't reorder this item again.
Not for big dogs!

Was not designed for my dog. Shattered on day one. Might be great for small dogs, definitely not for my large dog.
Junk ! I was afraid my lab would break this!

Cheap terrible plastic that would crack if he truly tried !I like the design but my dog is way too powerful to have this in his mouth ! ( Labrador ) I gave it to the small puppy next door went back to the Kong wobbler treat dispenser he loves !

In order to use this the treats have to be extremely small. I tried using normal dog food like the photo shows (or what I interpreted it as being) and the food got jammed and I had to keep helping my dog. The other frustration is that the food can move backwards in the ball which may be nice if you're trying to really keep your dog occupied, but I felt like she was never getting rewarded for her efforts. Finally, if your dog is a strong chewer, this ball is small enough to fit in their mouth and pretty easy to destroy.

Smells terrible

The rubber smell was so strong with this product that neither of my dogs would have anything to do with it. They were slightly interested and when they sniffed it, they literally ran away from it and wouldn't get near it again.
The first one we ever got was amazing but it got lost
August 24, 2016
We've purchased this toy several times on Amazon. The first time was in 2012. So when I ordered replacements twice in 2016 I was surprised they broke apart so quickly. We don't leave this out and it's for monitored play and throw only. The first one we ever got was amazing but it got lost. These last two just didn't make it and I'm certain the quality had changed. I recall this not being an issue at all from our first one. We love this toy but I'll look elsewhere because this becomes a waste of money. I'd be willing to pay more for something that lasts long.
Size is misleading. Do not buy!

I ordered the 5 inch holy roller toy for my pup. The item I received is indeed labled 5 - inches, but is barely two! I absolutely cannot use this for my pup. It's a choking hazard.
From other reviews apparently these used to be good..

My dog is not a strong chewer...after 3 uses (put a treat I it) it is falling apart.Seems to be a substandard rubber that is falling apart. From other reviews apparently these used to be good...but now many complain of not lasting (falling apart). I assume these are made in China and of an inferior material than they used to be. I would not recommend at all unless reports of better material. If like the one I got they are a waste of time and money.UPDATE (6/2017): It was complete junk. You can see in photo (was taken when new) that material was failing when brand new. It appears they change formulation and no longer good like old ones were. If yours is like this contact Amazon for a refund. Hopefully that will force a change. NOTE: I did not contact Amazon for a refund (I just ate the cost) and at this point it is too long. However, please contact ASAP if yours is crappy like this to help force vendor to change or fix this issue.
My dogs love this ball - but the new ones STINK ...
December 7, 2014
My dogs love this ball - the little guy (17 lbs) has no problem carrying it around; and it has withstood countless games of tug 'o war between the 2 dogs. I LOVE this ball, because even when thrown forcefully by a grandchild - it has no hard impact with whatever it hits, it just collapses, then springs back into shape. I'm ordering 2 more balls to take along when we camp.(Update) And now that I have the 2 new balls - there's a drastic difference between the original and now. I've changed my 5 star rating to one star. I expect a slight rubbery odor to a dog toy - but these balls made my whole house smell like rubber/latex (my husband remarked on it, too); and after tossing one for a while, it was like I could TASTE that smell. So last night, I washed both; and let them sit to air out. Tonight, all I did was pick one up, and I can "taste" that nasty taste again. Figuring if it smells (tastes?) that bad - my dogs can keep playing with the old (good) ball.As another reviewer had pointed out - the old ball has a solid panel with "JW" stamped on it - the new ones do not. Hopefully, Amazon will refund my money - if not, I'll throw them out.
Much flimsier now than it used to be
February 18, 2013
I bought one of these last year at a pet store and it was amazingly sturdy. It survived hundreds of hours of intense chewing by my terrier. Finally he destroyed it, and we immediately bought this replacement on Amazon. But *it wasn't the same thing*. It was the same shape and color and brand name, but much much flimsier. Just looking at it, we could see how the rubber was thinner and stretchier. And indeed, our terrier tore it apart easily, within 10 minutes.Investigating further, I went to a pet store and saw on the rack both the hardy and the flimsy kind of ball, with exactly the same price and SKU. My guess is that the company has just recently switched to a cheaper manufacturer that makes the flimsy balls, and I was seeing the last of the old hardy balls. Here's a trick: With the hardy kind, one of the hexagons is not a hole but filled-in, with "jw" written on it. With the flimsy kind, all the hexagons are cut out the same.Anyway, if you see that the reviews seem to be "love-it-or-hate-it", this is why: Some customers got a totally different product than others did. Mine was the flimsy kind. The customer reviews lead me to believe that everybody is getting the flimsy kind these days.
