Spacious and keeps you warm in cold weather.
November 15, 2016
I used this sleeping bag while camping outdoors in upper 20s and lower 30s weather. I felt perfectly fine in these conditions.I am 6'2" and the sleeping bag was quite roomy and tall enough for me, easily. The drawstring at the top made it easy to close up the face to prevent heat from escaping. The zipper also seems quite fine, though I feel the design makes it a little bit more difficult to zip back up as opposed to zipping down.At the end of the day, this sleeping bag was quite comfortable and did its job to keep me plenty warm in cold weather. I have not tried the bag below these temperatures, but feel confident that even probably 10-20 degrees cooler, you would be fine outdoors.
This is a good sleeping bag!
November 15, 2016
Went tent camping in Mountains and the temperature dropped to 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Light dusting of snow while I slept. I had on only base layers and zipped up completely. Got a little cold in the feet, but put my sweatshirt in the bottom of bag and fixed that. I was really unaware of the temperature drop other than the cold feet. (My tent was not a winter tent either, I had a lot of drafts. I probably got cold because I touched the tent wall with the bottom of my bag.) My camp mates had all abandoned their tents and headed into their cars and campers to finish sleeping. I wasn't cold until I crawled out of my sleeping bag.**The bag is so large that I could have put my cheap Summer bag inside it and slept comfortably, if the temp. dropped any lower.
awesome bag! Pretty darn warm
September 21, 2016
awesome bag! Pretty darn warm, we went to an outdoor music festival last weekend in colorado, the nighttime temps were around mid 30's to 40's. I did need a blanket inside the bag and one on top of the bag, and just FYI the bag is quite large and heavy, so not backpacking worthy at all.I was able to have pillows in there, and once for my legs too, and was able to roll around as I pleased without it bunching up.The xl bag had plenty of room for a taller person too, but I doubt 2 ppl would fit in here, unless you guys like to sleep like right next to each other.will use it for hammocking as well sometime soon. Definitely more useful for car camping situations where you don't have to go far with your stuff.
Best tall-bag I've ever owned.
February 29, 2016
For the money, I don't believe there's a better bag out there for tall people who need a lot of sleep width and leg room. I'm 6' 3" 200lbs. and there's plenty more room in there. It's been cozy warm comfortable down to 28 to 32 degrees, so far. Quality of the build, strength of material, construction design and zipper system are excellent. Appropriate for tent, camper, home, etc., but not something I would backpack with. Machine washes and fluff dries just fine with no loss of loft. Of all the large, long bags I've ever owned, this is my favorite, and I will not hesitate to purchase another if needed, so please don't stop making this fine bag, Coleman Company.
Large and great
October 10, 2012
My review is simply on the construction of the bag.The bag is good and large to give my 315 lbs. frame plenty room to move around. The lining is polyester and is nice and smooth. So, no fighting to move around inside the bag. The hood sinches nicely around the head. The foot box has a fleece lining at the top for supposedly extra warmth...I see about that very soon.I choose this bag because most other bags with fleece linings don't allow machine washing. I don't know how anyone can use a sleeping bag and not smell it up or get it dirty.I will not hesitate to buy this bag again as long as it can keep me warm down to 20 degrees F.
6'5" and no complaints
February 14, 2012
We all have different bodies, so I will review for me. I am a big dude. 6'5" and about 325 pounds. Thick upper body due to years in the gym. I went this weekend and camped in Prince William Forest in Virginia. The wind chill hit 11 and the wind really got into my tent vents. When I climbed into my bag to crash out, it was like jumping into a cold pool in the spring. However, within 15 minutes, I was not only comfortable, but I could feel my skin getting warm to the touch. 30 minutes after climbing in and I felt like I was at home sleeping in my own bed. I was THAT warm.My camping buddy was not so lucky. His bag was rated to 20 and he said he could not get warm all night. He even threw hot hands near his feet and held one in his hands. He also thought his face was going to freeze off. I didn't have that problem. Heat that was escaping my bag was radiating over my face. He opted not to stay the second night.....I refused to go home and waved goodbye. Now, the bag it comes with sucks. Buy a good quality compression sack if you intend to strap it to your back on a primitive camp. Way too bulky. The bag is thick rolled up, but you can reduce it maybe 1/3 with a good compression sack. Will update when I do a primitive camp and try hiking in with it.Pros:Kept me warm.Good size. Not claustrophobic feeling.Fleece at feet helped warm them faster.Cons:Bulky with included bagA little bit of a pain to roll up again due to thickness

Soft, warm, and cozy
August 17, 2017
Used this sleeping bag in an open tent with overnight temperatures in the low 40s (F). I am a person who is always cold and never goes anywhere without a sweater-- but this sleeping bag kept me perfectly warm and comfortable all night. My only complaint is that getting it back into the included bag is practically impossible. But I'll deal with that, given it keeps my toes (and the rest of me) warm and toasty.
A great deal on sleeping bags.
July 27, 2017
Not sure why these are getting such bad reviews. We bought two of these for our camping trip to Tahoe and they were a lifesaver. Ended up being super hot during the day and freezing cold at night. These were perfect. We haven't washed ours yet - if you read the tag it says to only wash if HEAVILY soiled. We shook ours out, and hung on the line to freshen. Loved the bags were easy to get them back into .
Perfect for cool weather & easy to store
November 16, 2016
I bought two coleman sleeping bags and they kept us warm in 35 degree weather. The perk to having two was we could zip them together to create one large 2 person sleeping bag!!Putting them back in the storage bag when done using them was quite easy, and it only took 1 person about 2 minutes to do.I would highly recommend Coleman brand sleeping bags.

I bought two of these for camping out in the yard with the grandkids and weekend trips in the fall to the island and some lighthouse scenery. Have only used them in the back yard. They are warm and have a nice thickness. Easy to roll back up and get into their bags. I will update when we check them out thru the fall. I'm comfortable recommending them now as far as summer and early fall.
Warm, Comfy, Everyday Sleeping, Makes Loud Noises When You Move
January 6, 2016
I live in a college dorm and I sleep in this sleeping bag everyday instead of using comforters and sheets. It is the comfiest, warmest thing ever! My feet are often cold at night but this makes my feet so warm. I recommend using a sleeping bag liner so you can wash the liner instead of trying to wash the whole sleeping bag. The zipper is very fast and doesn't get stuck. The bad thing about this is that it makes loud noises when I move, which annoys my roommate very much. Also, I cannot stretch my limbs very much since it's kind of small. Overall, this is a great and high quality sleeping bag. I have slept in it everyday and I've had no problems. It is very soft.
great for camping
May 23, 2014
I bought this for my son to take to camp. They actually sleep in cabins but have the option of bringing sheets and blankets or a sleeping bag. Opting for easier since my son's only 10, we chose sleeping bag. We let someone borrow the other one he took last year and we haven't gotten it back so I was looking for something quick and affordable. This is quite the little bag. He tried it out in the house and said that it was great in the AC. It kept him warm but he wasn't burning up. He also camped out in the yard with it for just in case the AC goes out in the cabin and he said it was great. He was warm but he slept fine, he just slept on top of it instead of zipped up in it. He said the other bag we had made him sweat and stick to it if he did that and he said this one didn't. It's a great fit and Coleman is the best!

Good for car camping
July 19, 2017
It's a lot bigger than what I anticipated but it works well for summertime car camping. Plenty of leg room, very comfortable and warm enough too.I will not use this for backpacking as it is way too heavy. I haven't had a chance to test in a colder environment.

Still using this thing everyday in my semi and it's great except it says the zipper is snag proof but it gets caught everytime and several times while using.Still it's by far the best sleeping bag I've ever owned.
Great sized bag for all shapes and sizes
August 24, 2016
Great size! I'm not big and tall but I move around a lot in my sleep. This had plenty of room while still keeping me warm. Only cons are I wish the inner fabric was something cozier. The nylon can feel 'damp' or cold. Also, I'd like it better if it zipped on both sides. Overall a well made sleeping bag for the price.
My dog and I love it, my girlfriend just laughs at me.
March 30, 2016
So big and beefy, my girlfriend just shakes her head every time she see's me in it. She's totally jealous. This thing fits me and easily accommodates my need to stretch while I sleep. Only thing I would recommend if it is really cold is that you use a blanket because with all that space it can feel drafty :P
Finally, a sleeping bag I can fit in!
November 2, 2015
I've used this sleeping bag a couple times when the temperature was in the 40's. I've been pretty comfortable, but I'd say 10 degrees colder, and I'll need some layers on. The good: It's big - I'm almost 6'6", 235 pounds, and this is comfortable. I can actually move around. I had an extra long mummy bag I bought online, and I couldn't even zip it around me. The not so good: We had a LOT of dew last weekend, and the bag doesn't repel water very well. I'm not much of a hiker/camper, so maybe this is common. I was chilly by morning. It is quite bulky, but what do you expect for a sleeping bag with 2x the material?
Works well if you know how to use it
November 26, 2010
My wife used this bag on a recent trip where the overnight temps were in the mid 20's. It kept her warm and toasty while wearing only a single layer of light clothing. As with any bag, achieving maximum warmth requires good insulation from the ground (we use an inflatable mattress and pad). It's too heavy and bulky for hiking, but perfect for car camping.EDIT: I don't know why Amazon chose to move this review to the Large bag, because my original review was for the Regular sized version of this bag. I still stand behind my original review of that bag. My wife has used this bag for two other cold weather trips since then with no problems.

I've only used this once since purchasing but am pleased with the product
September 11, 2017
I've only used this once since purchasing but am pleased with the product. Here's a quick rundown of my thoughts:Pros:- Definitely keeps you warm***- Very soft. It's seriously comfortable.- The zipper really doesn't get snagged. Again, I've only used it once since purchasing but I kept zipping and unzipping the bag every day/night and it just would not get snagged!Cons:- ***The bag was almost too warm. I used it in 60-65ยบ nights and I was pretty much right on the border between too warm and comfortable. I personally cannot sleep if my body is too warm and this sleeping bag was pushing it. I woke up a few times in the middle of the night, each night, and had to unzip the bag a little to let some cold air get in, so I could get comfortable and fall back asleep.Issues (To clarify: these are NOT cons of the products. Cons are when the product has some sort of manufacture/physical/etc. issue ITSELF. These are MY personal issues I had with the bag):- I move a lot when I sleep. And I mean a lot. It takes a while for me to find a position where my mind will finally tell me, "okay you're good, let's sleep". This was a problem for me when I had this bag zipped up. I was fighting with the bag every night. If you move a lot, I highly recommend you either buy two of these and zip them together, or just use this to lay on and get another blanket to use on top. OR just don't get it at all and get something bigger.- The material is soft but your skin can get caught on it. My hands and feet are kind of rough. The skin around my nails are constantly peeling and the bottoms of my feet aren't the smoothest. Both areas were constantly getting "snagged" on the material. It's more annoying than anything but it takes away from the comfort. Honestly, that can happen with anything of similar material though. I just thought it was worth mentioning.Overall, I have to give it 4 out of 5 stars. It is a nice bag and I would definitely recommend it.
Grand kids love it!
March 1, 2017
For the money, you can't beat this sleeping bag! I bought 2 for my Grandchildren when they sleep over and they love it. Soft, nicely padded and definitely warm enough in the house. I do agree with other reviewers about the bag that it arrives in, I couldn't get it back in once I took it out. It is a small issue though and happy I made the purchase.

July 11, 2016
Overall, a reasonable sleeping bag. I will say that I got a little too warm sleeping in this indoors. I also am not overly fond of the material used for the lining of this sleeping bag. As others have stated in their reviews, it tends to "catch" on your skin... This wasn't a huge drawback for me, as I was fully clothed & wearing socks, but I could definitely see how it would get irritating.
Good, but not great
January 6, 2016
The kids love sleeping in them, and they seem to be well built, but...1. You have to roll it up, rather than use a stuff sack.2. It uses those stupid cords to tie it up rather than elastic straps.3. The carry bag should be just a touch bigger so that it does not take 2 people to get it back in each time.
As expected
March 4, 2015
Perfect for intended use. Bought for my 8 year old daughter for scout camping and family camping. THis is something that she can keep for a whilw a grow into (so I do not have to keep buying new themed sleeping bags) Soft and warm enought for 50 degree weather. The fabric inside is like most sleeping bags not as soft as your favorite blankee but it will do)
Kept me warm but not all of me
May 15, 2014
I purchased 2 of these sleeping bags for my camping trip. The temperature at night dropped to 43 degrees fahrenheit. I crawled in my bag and was warm the whole night. exccept from my shoulders to my head. The description says, 33 inches (Width) X 75 inches (Height). I am 5'9" (69 inches) and weight 210lbs. I fit perfectly into the bag but could not cover my whole body length wise. It is a great investment and I plan on using them for later camping trip. I had to bend my legs and arch my back a little just to be cover from head to toe, which I did not mind.*Warning* If you are taller the 5'9" (69 inches) DO NOT BUY!Quality: 9/10 - did not have any problem with the zipper, material, or packaging. The sleeping bag is not true to size!Price: 9/10 - I have found cheaper bags at different web sitesSelection: 8/10 - they do have 2 colors available, Green and Blue (Slightly different prices)

Pros:Lots of space. I'm 6'2", 200lbs and had room for another inside.Comfortable, especially with the flannel foot area.Great for car camping and dry climates.Cons:Will not keep you warm in temps less than 50*F with 65% humidity or higher.Terrible for hiking. Heavy and large.I would not buy it again as I live in a very humid, temperate climate.A dry climate would suit this bag.
Not warm enough.
October 6, 2015
This is not a 0-20 deg bag. I've used this twice in 50 degree nights and I was COLD. Not teeth chattering cold, but cold enough that I had to bundle up extra, and zip it up around my face to get comfortable. I can't imagine how someone could use this in sub-freezing temperatures unless they used another layer or two of insulation. Aside from that, the material quality is good, and it comes with a nice carrying sack.
NOT ZERO DEG

i am 6'3" and about 190#. This bag was fantastic size wise. My son and I went camping and it reached 40F that night. even with sweats, socks and a hoodie I was freezing. Teeth chattering freezing. I should have thrown a fleece in there. Will try next time. My son was a ok with his fleece and a $2" Lightning McQueen kids bag.

Love the color
September 10, 2016
Only used for 1 night so far. It does have a weird fabric feel to it but it's still better than the ground or dirt. Love the color since there aren't many fashionable adult sleeping bags. Will continue to use till I need a new one or if one of my kiddos decide they want it.

August 25, 2015
There is nothing wrong with the bag it is not what I ordered. I ordered a kids size bag for my 5 year old grandson but received an adult sized one. Due to this error I can not give it any higher of a rating. I still need a child sleeping bag.
Not so great stuff sack, good sleeping bag though.
March 18, 2015
So when I initially received this sleeping bag I thought the stuff sack was cool because it had a zipper to further compress the sleeping bag. After just unzipping and trying to re-zip the "cool" feature the stitches on the seam started ripping, and then completely ripped upon full completion of zipping. "Haha what a joke" I chuckled to myself. The bag was cozy for my early spring camping though. Just hate spending more on a good stuff sack then I did for the actual sleeping bag. I think with a good compression stuff sack though, this bag can get pretty compressed. Don't let the cheaply made stuff sack deter you from buying this, but it is worth keeping the extra cost for a good sack in mind.
Too late to get something else
June 17, 2014
Color is not even close to what is advertised. It is more of a navy blue with a much darker grey liner than pictured. Very disappointed, was hoping for a slightly more unique color than the basic reds, greens, and navy's that every child at camp will have. Too late to get anything else.It is soft and will work well keeping my child warm at camp without overheating her, still not what I wanted though.
What's up with the liner???
April 18, 2014
I should have read the reviews more thoroughly because it sees there are several comments about the funky liner in this sleeping bag. It's some kind of soft microfiber that has thousands of tiny loops that will snag on every callous and piece of dead skin on the palms of your hands, soles of your feet and around your fingers, toes and knuckles. It's a very strange sensation almost like static electricity running over your hands and feet. Luckily I bought this for my young son. He has no complaints. And it is inexpensive. So, three stars.

THIS IS THE SECOND COLEMAN BIG BASIN TALL SLEEPING BAG THAT I HAVE ORDERED FOR A FAMILY MEMBER. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THIS WAS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR THIS EVENING AND A SLEEP OVER PARTY. THE ZIPPER BROKE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND MY SON WAS SO DISAPPOINTED AND SO WAS I. I NEED TO RETURN THE ITEM FOR A REPLACEMENT AND HOPE THAT THIS WAS JUST SOME STRANGE FLUKE AND NOT THE QUALITY OF THE ZIPPER. OTHERWISE I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SLEEPING BAG. THANK YOU AND HOPES THIS HELPS YOUR BUYING DECISION.
Vent zipper on mine didn't work
March 19, 2016
Just discovered the vent zipper doesn't work. The bag is rather large and cumbersome. I use it in my freezer of a house in St. Paul, MN, but I can't imagine this could be practical for camping because it is so unwieldy.
Could not handle military field life
May 18, 2015
This bag was not durable by any means of the word. Zipper broke after one week's time in the field. Temperature was 25 degrees in the desert and I felt every bit of it. Didn't live up to the hype.
Not that warm, low quality materials
June 1, 2014
Like several reviewers on amazon, I am an average sized woman (5'6'', 140 pounds) who purchased this sleeping bag, because I wanted to have lots of room to stretch out while camping. I took the bag on a camping trip where I slept in a lean to. The temperatures were in the low 30s at night. Even with a fleece sleeping bag liner, long underwear, a sweatshirt and wool socks I was freezing. I think this was mostly due to the fact that there was a lot of "extra" sleeping bag around me, and due to the size of this, there wasn't much insulation. A tall person (whom this bag is actually made for) may not have this problem. However, i definitely do not recommend a person of my size buying this bag and expecting it to be warm in any way.I ended up getting an L.L Bean adventure mummy bag for women, made for my size. It was $100 on sale. I took it camping this weekend, when it was in the low 40s. I didn't wear but one layer and was comfortable - even without a liner. Furthermore, the nylon used in the L.L.Bean bag is warm and cozy, not at all like the cheap nylon that was used in the Coleman bag. And, I had plenty of room to roll around, lie on my side, etc. I really wish that I had gone straight for the more expensive, better made bag instead of wasting my time (and money!) with this one. Again, I know this is made for people who are "big and tall" but I definitely bought mine after seeing positive reviews from people of my stature. Also, if you are thinking a mummy bag might be too restrictive, consider trying one out first before deciding that it's not for you.

Buy cheap;get cheap.

Buy cheap, get cheap. Don't waste your money. The fabric snags, catches, and grabs every possible thing that gets near it. Clothes, skin, gear. Disappointed.
Rough Inner Lining
February 2, 2017
The problem with this sleeping bag is the inner lining. Rough and uncomfortable. Had to return it.
Rough skin, nails etc. catch on the inside fabric.
October 26, 2016
Purchased two of these for my boys. As others have mentioned if you have rough skin or nails in any way it will catch on the fabric. Both my boys complained about it.
but I wouldn't purchase it again knowing it falls apart easily.
December 15, 2015
It's a warm sleeping bag, but the zipper started to rip away after only two weeks of use. Had to carefully sew back on about a foot and a half of damaged zipper. I was stuck with it for an entire Naval deployment and it worked, but I wouldn't purchase it again knowing it falls apart easily.
Couldn't get past the bag because of what a tight fit they were.
April 30, 2015
The zipped bags that hold these were busting at the seems on arrival we didn't even dare open them. Had they come with an alternate method for storing and holding the bag in a roll we would have felt differently but with the bag being the only way to hold and store them they should have invested a little more in the quality of the bag and just maintained a higher price point.
Beware of the Soft Tricot Liner!!!
March 21, 2014
Here are the reasons why I gave it 2 when it could've been 5 easily. Please look at the con in caps. It will save you money.Pros:* It's soft. Like 1000 bunnies cuddling next to you.* It's warm. I use it as an indoor blanket and always felt nice and cozy inside it.* It's big if you are a 5'6" half-asian guy like me. There is extra room to roam around when you are sleepingCons:* SOFT TRICOT LINER. Needed this to be in caps to grab your attention. If you never felt this fabric before it's like if a cloth and sand paper had a baby you would get this fabric. It's grabs onto your skin and feels very uncomfortable. The day after it arrived I ended up ordering another sleeping bag. Look for a cotton-flannel liner. You won't regret it.* Rolling it up and placing it in the bag they provide is like a sumo going to a theater and trying to squeeze into the seats. After many attempts he becomes successful and gets in but it's a really tight fit. Trying to get him out of it after is another challenge. This pretty much sums up how difficult it is to put it back.To sum it up. Don't get the soft tricot liner. Get cotton-flannel liner instead.

Unfortunately this sleeping bag shredded after one washing. Washed it the same way we wash all our sleeping bags and have never had problems with the other ones. Unfortunately it's past its return date. Too bad.
Not great
August 25, 2016
The zipper does not work. The ties do not wrap up the sleeping bag tight enough. I roll it up and stuff it in the bag without using the ties, and that works ok. The zipper jammed immediately so we cannot use it. It is written as warm weather, but it is a little too hot in the warm weather. All in all, I am not satisfied at all with this product.
Only for the hottest weather
July 5, 2016
I went camping in Yellowstone in June and froze in this thing. There is no way it is acceptable for 40 degrees. I wore my street clothes, two pairs of socks, winter jacket, and slept with my head completely cocooned inside and still froze to death in this thing.

April 5, 2016
I was freezing with these bags. It was 45 degrees. The cold air was coming through the zippers. I had to fold the zippers under me which helped a bit. My hands and feet were cold. The material on the inside sucks as everything sticks to it. I'm sure these would be ok in 55-60 degree temperatures but not anything below.

The zipper is completely broken on this item and it was never used. It was a Christmas gift that we did not test. It arrived half zipped, but the zipper was split and it us unable to be re-zipped up or used as a sleeping bag. We have only just discovered this when we went to use it for the first time.
Slept in it once and already unraveling
April 27, 2015
I've only used this bag once, and by no means was it roughed up or over-used, and the seams near the feet have already ripped and are unraveling... I had hoped for higher quality from a Coleman bag but I guess you get what you pay for.
