Strong and sturdy! Love that it comes w/ 2 tie downs
January 19, 2016
Strong and sturdy! Love that it comes w/ 2 tie downs. I currently have my 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan on it. I added a 2x4 and a 1x1 to the lift bars to help get the front tire off the ground and protect my oil drain plug. I've seen other people that built their own custom base to help w/ bike balance. It's sort of a 'one size fits all' but you may want a 2x4 around or something. It's just hard to get both bars in the perfect spot (to get both tires off the ground) and avoid the drain plug. Happy I went with the Craftsman, usually worth a little extra money.

Works great. Good deal.
Super fast delivery
May 30, 2015
Super fast delivery. Box was beat to hell but luckily the loose nut didn't fall out, I'm blaming that on shipper not seller. Minor assembly, came with the 2 straps, worked perfect for my Harley Night Train. First use was polishing my rear wheel. Next use is taking wheel off to swap pulleys. Just an awesome deal! I worked at a bike shop years ago and had one in there I used on Harleys that came in once in a great while. There is a difference between that one and this one though. This one has 2 holes in each bar that contacts the frame. Holes for adaptors maybe?

worked great for that
September 20, 2017
Used it tonight to torque the 4 bolts per side for the rear bearings on my mothers FWD minivan, worked great for that. Matched up with my expensive 1/2" unit. Both read 41ft-lbs as hoped.Purchased this with the sole purpose of redoing the valve lash on my 5.9 cummins (have to torque the locking nuts to 18ft-lbs which my 1/2" can't remotely do), feel pretty comfortable now using it for that.
Nice, audible "Click"
August 1, 2017
Great price and it works quite accurately near the median of it's range (as expected). I prefer this one over the Craftsman one because this Tekton "clicks" much more audibly, which was a problem with the Craftsman. Also, no plastic on this one.Note: Keep in mind that Tekton is one of the more well-known, higher quality "cheapy" products.
Excellent Torque Wrench, Clockwise Torque Measurement
March 12, 2017
This is an excellent torque wrench. However, be very careful because it only measures torque in the clockwise direction even though the ratchet works either direction. If you do tighten in the counter-clockwise direction, the range/length of the torque wrench (10-80 ft-lbs) will make it difficult for you to over-torque your bike pedals or most other things. It is obvious to me why 15 mm and 5/8-inch crow foot wrenches only come in 3/8-inch drive. A 1/2-inch drive torque wrench could do serious damage.
Great addition to the tool box
March 11, 2017
I'm only using mines for my SUV wheels. Great sturdy feel and look. Easy instructions to follow included in the box. FYI this Torque Wrench is 10 to 80 pounds. So if you need to go over 80 this isn't for you.

February 29, 2016
Purchased this after snapping a banjo bolt while replacing brake lines on my car, using my "Great Neck" torque wrench I've owned for at least a decade. I lost confidence in it due the age, brand, and I've snapped enough bolts going to factory specifications with it. The TEKTON is a welcome upgrade. The flat part keeps the wrench from moving when laying down. The handle is longer than my old 3/8" torque wrench, which I like. The torque settings on this wrench are printed and easy to read.
Great for Spark Plugs
January 29, 2015
I needed a torque wrench with a smaller foot print and this little jewel worked out great. Clearance is a problem on smaller engines like generators, leaf blowers, chainsaws, ATV's, and Golf Carts and this really helps with that issue. The quality is very good and the price is just right. A loud click and jerky feel is obvious so you will not have to worry about missing the click or torque range. The gage is easy to read and set. Works great on spark plugs and drain bolts where over torquing can lead to bad things. A handy tool for your maintenance needs at the right price.

good
Product looks good but was misrepresented by seller!
February 15, 2016
Just received this product today. Seller I bought this from misrepresented it. It said it was a 1700 pound lift and its only 1500 lbs. (as it is currently advertised). The lift is not 3 inches high as mentioned but 5 1/2 inches high(Collapsed height) Lift pads are 14 1/2 inches (measured on out side edges) wide(apart) and 13 1/2 inches long. although it says Craftsman on it. It is still made in China. It does look sturdy enough for lifting motorcycles. I'm not sure how it would do lifting larger ATV's yet. I haven't used it yet. But will soon. So, I can't recommend or say anything against it either way. That being said, I have not had any trouble with Craftsman products made in China yet. But, after buying Craftsman for 50 years, They are not as well manufactured as they used to be. Keep an eye out and read reviews. It's always your choice in the end.

good tool found mine with some imperfections on it
July 4, 2017
good toolfound mine with some imperfections on it, also there is openings where dust can enter itother than that it is a great value, and solid torque wrenchi had to twist mine up to 55 lbs ft and work it up to break it in,like others said don't expect to make measurements near the upper limit of 80 lbs ft.
So far so good. Used it to torque up my lawnmower blade
March 5, 2017
So far so good. Used it to torque up my lawnmower blade. Had a definite click at the required setting. Only caveat is that at the higher torque ratings the adjusting knurl gets a little difficult to turn. Not a lot more use for it at this time, but I will be needing it to torque up some of the bolts on my tractor and will update if it goes south.
Got The Job Done
August 29, 2016
The main reason I went with this one is because I have this company's 1/4 inch socket set and was very pleased with the quality. However, in my opinion this torque wrench falls short of my expectations. Nice heavy duty torque wrench, can't give five stars because it is not as well built as I was expecting but I still feel like its a worthwhile tool. I bought this to replace some spark plugs and it worked out great! The click is very distinct, you know when its done. There is a nice plastic clam shell case that comes with it so you can keep it in good shape. Overall I am very satisfied by my purchase, but feel like some other stuff by TEKTON that I have is a little better quality than this turned out to be.
Surprisingly good for the price.
July 11, 2016
Purchased this to finish installing a trailer hitch. I previously had one I purchased from Harbor & Freight, but had questions about it's quality. If you're looking at this you you probably know the one I'm talking about. This driver is actually surprisingly well built for the price and performed very well. I used this and the other driver side by side and while the H&F driver worked, the click was negligible to the point of not being noticeable for either sound or feel. This driver the click was loud enough to be easily heard and I felt it right away. Solid product that I'm glad I purchased, and wish I purchased first.I probably won't use it again for a while, but wont think twice about it when I do.
Good low price tool. Not great, but I didn't pay for great.
May 8, 2015
Good basic torque wrench. Not the best, but of course it's not.....I paid less than $40 for it. But for what I do, it's good enough. Read up on torque wrenches and fasteners and you'll learn that the accuracy of most wrenches is sketchy at best. You'll also learn that most people err on the side of too tight. So set it on the low end, snug it down, and call it good. If it's something you won't need to adjust often, use blue Locktite. But anyway....back to this wrench. It's a good, low price tool. The adjustment and action is fairly smooth. I have had no problems with it.
Good wrench, great for the price.
May 3, 2014
I needed a torque wrench to do work on our cars. Well, to be honest, I needed to do work on our cars, and decided that I "needed" a torque wrench. Excuses to buy tools are always a good thing.I was originally just going to nip over to Sears and buy a Craftsman. However, I was horrified to discover how little faith they have in some of their products these days; Craftsman's usual lifetime hand tool warranty does *not* apply to their to torque wrenches, and is instead replaced by a **90-day** warranty. Three months? What on earth?? I guess that's what you get when you outsource to China.(Source as of May 2014: [...] )Appalled, I turned to Amazon instead. Snap-on is too rich for my blood right now, but I did consider picking up a CDI wrench (and in the long run, still might). Given how often I'm likely to use it, I figured I'd start on the low end of the price scale just to see what was available. I came across this wrench, and although it's not made in the U.S. (manufactured in Taiwan) Tekton is a U.S. company that does appear to be easily contactable in case any questions/concerns pop up. The same can't be said of a lot of the made-in-China stuff. They also appear to keep an eye out on Amazon for those with trouble, which is often a good sign.Out of the box, the wrench comes in a reasonable enough red plastic case. It's not the heaviest plastic known to mankind, but it's not the flimisest either. It seems suitable enough for the purpose, which is good enough. The wrench itself has a decent heft to it, and doesn't give the impression of being cheaply made. The ratcheting mechanism on the head seems smooth enough. One thing that caught my eye about this Tekton wrench is that they filled in the scale on the shaft in black. That sounds like a trivial thing, but that one little change makes reading and setting the wrench infinitely simpler than on other tools. I'm a huge fan of laser-etched sockets with big, clear figures instead of stamped markings (I have a Stanley set that I got for cheap that's etched); they're that much easier to read.Anyway, I tried a couple of simple jobs with the new wrench, comparing it against a CDI wrench borrowed from work. I did a spark plug change and an oil change, trying both wrenches on the same jobs. In general, the Tekton is a solid-feeling tool. The torque adjustment mechanism doesn't feel nearly as smooth as the CDI, but at a quarter of the cost, I'm more than willing to overlook that. The setting locking mechanism is also far simpler than the one Craftsman we have at work (it has some sort of eighth-turn locking collar that never stays put)The Tekton doesn't give a massively audible click when the set torque is reached, but I did find the motion at the set point was quite obvious when I hit it.I couldn't feel any discernible difference compared to the CDI wrench in terms of accuracy. I tried tightening to the two limits needed for the job (13 and 28 ft-lb) initially with one wrench and then checking it against the other (and vice-versa), and found that neither showed much of a difference. Even on the more challenging 13 ft-lb setting (click torque wrenches being notoriously less accurate at the bottom end of their scale) I found no real difference in either wrench's behaviour.Given the length of the handle, hitting 80 lb-ft might be a bit optimistic. That said, I can't think of any job I'm likely to do in the near future that would require that much oomph.Overall, I'm very happy. This appears to be a better tool than I'd expected at this price, and given the cost is probably a better tool than the price deserves. It appears to be accurate enough (with the usual caveats that apply to all non-beam torque wrenches at the bottom end of their range) when compared with a much more expensive wrench, and although I didn't need it for the pair of jobs I've done so far, the facility to switch between standard and left-handed tightening seems like a bonus compared with some wrenches in this price range that just can't do that.My only niggle is with the smoothness of the handle when turned to set the desired torque. For want of a better term, it's a little on the graunchy side. But for that, this would easily be a 5-star product. Even then, given how inexpensive this tool is, it's ever so close to getting full marks, but I like my tools to have a nice tactile feel to them, and this one aspect means I can't quite give it a top score. It works well enough, but it just feels a little off.I'd call it a 4.5 if Amazon would let me...

It acts like it needs greased
September 26, 2017
It's definitely not a Snap On, or a Craftsman...It acts like it needs greased, ,,setting the torque is a mild fight as there is not a smooth flow of parts against one another.....it's not awful but making it act right would not have taken a PHD..It's just cheap work, done i a hurry
Not impressed
September 12, 2017
Underwhelmed by the quality. Feels like something you'd buy at a "big box" store. Hope it's more accurate than it looks. Arrived dirty. Even the decals are cheap and off-center.

August 25, 2017
i needed a torque wrench to go down to 18 lbs. this does. but i do question the accuracy of the product. owners manual states plus or minus 4 percent. 18 psi on this wrench seems to be close to 25-30 range.
I do have other Tekton tools and I am happy with them
July 10, 2017
The handle adjustment was too tight so I was unable to bring the tool to its higher torque values without straining my hands. Returned for that reason, it may have been a glitch but I decided to try another brand rather than wait for an exchange. I do have other Tekton tools and I am happy with them.

Okay, replacing this with a CDI with a longer handle
July 3, 2016
It's OK, it feels well made and functions well for the price. The only thing I hate is the overall length which is short. Any fastener requiring 50 ft-lbs or more is a chore due to the short overall length and lack of leverage. I had to torque down caliper mounting brackets down to 46 ft-lbs and this thing was hard and this was my first bolt. I grabbed my 1/2" CDI with a much longer handle and more leverage that finished the job on all 4 brackets. I'm going to replace this with a 3/8" CDI version with a 16 in length.

Looks pretty, but failed me after a few uses.
August 31, 2017
I only used it a few times and it no longer clicks. It felt like it was over tightening, so I checked it with my other torque wrench and found out that I was about 10lbs over.
I only used this tool 3-times and it has already failed.
August 2, 2017
I only used this tool 3-times and it has already failed. First I could not get the finger level to change from clockwise to CCW. then it would not work at in in the CCW position. Then the screws holding the head on fell out! I expected this to last a lifetime.
This thing is terrible don't waste your money
July 2, 2017
This thing is terrible don't waste your money. It comes with a calibration certificate, but when I tested it with an electronic torque converter, that I had previously certified, it was way off, trying to adjust it to get it working it was impossible the scale never matched except for a small range. I use it now by setting it up with my torque converter to the value I need at that time, and use it this way. It's better not to use a torque wrench then one that's so inaccurate, bloody useless, actually dangerous.
DOA and probably NOT calibrated.
May 24, 2016
This looks like a decent tool so I thought I'd save some bucks while adding a fifth torque tool to fill in a gap in my garage. Unfortunately right out of the box I had a problem. I couldn't get it to 'break' at any torque setting for normal tightening/clockwise. Which of course is the 95% case. Seemed to work correctly when I set it to loosen/counterclockwise. I called the toll-free number in the instructions, but they don't work outside normal business hours so I'm returning it to Amazon. The most disturbing thing is the listing says it's calibrated to 4%--but there's no calibration sheet in the package, and how did they calibrate a wrench that didn't work? At the price, I guess this was too good to be true. So now it's back to Snap-on and CDI.

May 9, 2016
Product appears to be well-made, and doesn't feel lightweight or cheap at all. However, it did not work out of the box. Perhaps it was damaged in transit.I made sure to read the instructions before first time use, and even dialed in a lower torque setting (25 ft/lbs) than I actually needed (35-40 ft/lbs). I was careful to tighten up the bolt slowly, so I could hear or feel the click at my desired setting. Nothing happened, so I kept tightening right up until I could tighten no further. No click, disappointing.
Lock nut fails
August 4, 2014
I purchased this on 2014. Very good finishing. Ratchet mechanism works very well and click set works fine. After aprox, 15 times of casual use, the lock nut came out with a washer, two pins and a turned part. Very messy for me. I was able to assemble the locking mechanism, but now this does not lock nothing. I'll keep using this tool badly. But I do not recommend this tool.
