Five Star Reviews: | 78% Amazing value August 28, 2015 This is a heck of a product. I bought it not for my motorcycle so I cant address its usefulness in that regard. I needed to install dual ovens to replace my old ones. The ovens weigh 325 lbs and needed to be picked up a foot or so to fit in the cabinet. Worked like a charm and saved me a $375 installation charge quoted by a Lowes installer. Heavy construction. Can't believe they can build it for that price. Ran the lift up with my 18 volt Dewalt screw gun and it worked fine even with a heavy dual oven on it. Someday I;; try it on my motorcycle. All I wish is that it had some sort of rubber like grip material on the bottom June 22, 2015 Heavy, does what is designed to do. Feel confident with this jack, no wobble, rigid. All I wish is that it had some sort of rubber like grip material on the bottom.I'll come up with something.Jim M Works perfect for my 2009 Harley softail deluxe May 14, 2015 Works perfect for my 2009 Harley softail deluxe. I used it to get my wheels off the ground so I could check front-end free play. Now I will use it for leveling the bike for fluid changes. Very sturdy. Good buy. Make sure you pack the bearing with grease before use for easy turning. Black Widow Motorcycle Scissor jack is a great jack March 25, 2015 I like this Black Widow Motorcycle Scissor jack stand. I used it on my 2003 Vulcan 800 and it worked fantastic. Easy to lift, there was at least one inch of hangover on each side, and I left my motorcycle on the jack stand over night without worrying that it would collapse. The rubber did tear and come unglued a little, but you have to expect that when you are gluing rubber to metal. I chose this product over hydraulic jacks that can be moved around on wheels as I do not have to worry about seals tearing and losing hydraulic pressure. Mechanical leverage works great and when I lift the bike, I put the bike where I plan on finishing the task. I do not place the bike somewhere and think, hmm I need to move this somewhere else out of the way. I will take this jack over any hydraulic jack any day of the week. Nice motrocycle jack/stand February 7, 2015 I finally found the right jack/stand for my 109. It’s made by Black Widow and goes for around $100 on Amazon. They had it shipped to my door in three days. It’s rated to 1,100 lbs which is 300 lbs more than I need. The bike is very stable once lifted. I sat on my bike and shifted my weight around without it moving. I was surprised at the stability after being lifted off the ground. I used a friends Craftsman Professional motorcycle jack to test it out on my 109. It seemed flimsy and the bike was not stable once lifted. My next option was to cough up about $700 for a PittBull lift. I figured I would take a chance, spend $100 and test it out for myself. It worked out very well. I ordered a second one to be used in conjunction with the first one I bought so the bike can be completely lifted off the ground if need be. One for the front and one for the back, $200 total. I’ve also found this jack very handy to use to simply park/store my bike. It works very well when placed under the bike and jacked up until the rear wheel just barely clears the garage floor. Now it’s stored sitting upright and balanced and stable. Great Bike Jack, wish I had bought the dolly's August 22, 2014 I wanted to use it for a while before I wrote a review. On first inspection it seems very well made and rugged.I have been using it for a few days now, and done about 5 or 6 different lifts with it.First thing the instructions tell you to do is ad grease to the lift screw and the joints. The grease helps a lot, the first lift I did was without grease. It is very stable so far. I have jacked it all the way up and then shook it from side to side, with enough force that if it had been on the kickstand I think it would have flipped, with significant force that it should have fallen over but it barely moved. The stand did not sway at all. The bike moved a little but did not come even close to attempting to fall over. When closed it is compact enough that it takes up no room at all. It is about 3.5 inches tall and 9 inches wide and 15 inches long. Sits nicely on the bottom shelf of my supply shelves. All in all this so far is a great jack, my bike has been sitting in the air since yesterday with no straps holding it.I would recommend it to anyone I know. Wish I had bought the Dolly that goes with it.After 2 weeks of use.Found interesting Flaw in product, but not a catastrophic one. When I tested it at 15 inches up it almost did not move at all side to side. But when I was working on the rear of the bike I found that the Harley would sway 2+ inches front to rear of the bike or for the lift that would be side to side. The jack still seems heavy enough that it will not collapse. Also found that adding grease to the pivot points as well as the scissor screw lets me use my cordless drill to lift and lower the platform. | 70% Awesome lift June 2, 2017 this lift is incredible. First off, it's super heavy duty. The thing must weigh 60 pounds by itself. It has a nice rubber protective pad for going underneath places that you don't want scratched. It's scissors up very nicely with a ratchet. Very smooth. Has a great weight capacity. It looks my 1100 Honda like a feather. Well worth the money. Great lift. Happy I bought it April 26, 2017 You'll be happy spending money on this lift over some of the other, more expensive lifts out there. I have two motorcycles, each weighing over 700lbs. Even using a hand-ratchet (over air), this lift operates smoothly and, easily. It's very strong, stable and, is well constructed. Awesome stand. A huge help January 5, 2017 Awesome stand. A huge help. Make sure you have a 22mm socket and or wrench to make it go up and down. Solid construction, easy to use and gentle on the belly of your beast. June 18, 2016 Use it every day to lift my front forks off the ground at night. Slides under my bike, I use a ratchet and extension to crank it up easily. I wouldn't recommend using it on a big bike to lift it all the way off the ground. Better for just the front or back. Solid, well made. November 21, 2015 Arrived timely. Well made. Heavy (wright about 40#). But, it works like a charm. Easily lifted my 750# H-D. Stable. Easy to use. Although, I do wish they had included a socket to fit the drive, or at least provided the size socket that is needed. None of my sockets are of this particular size either metric or SAE. I am guessing about 22mm? Nonetheless, it is well made and works as advertised. Should last a long time. Recommended. No assembly required, picked up my Sportster with ease. Read my details on the two person needs.. February 16, 2015 No assembly, fairly light weight, easy to conceal out of the way. Lifts a sportster with ease, you will wanna watch the front wheel though.. have some one stand it up for you straight before you start jacking it up to ensure you don't drop the bike when the fork turns left or right. |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% ... a 2006 yamaha v star 1100 midnight custom works great. April 23, 2017 Use on a 2006 yamaha v star 1100 midnight custom works great. Easy to Use May 31, 2015 Worked well. Lifted the front half first then moved it back 6 inches and lifted the rear. I have a 13 Ultra Classic. Great lift for Triumph Bonneville March 17, 2015 This lift worked great for my Triumph Bonneville. I used it to swap out the rear suspension and it worked perfectly. Looking forward to using this to clean and lubricate my chain quickly as well.My only complaint is that I didn't have a large enough socket to fit on the lift with my basic mechanics toolkit (my largest was a 13/16" spark plug and you need a 7/8"). But a large wrench worked fine, just took a little extra effort. Great jack for low profile bikes April 4, 2014 If you have a bike that sits a little to low, and that Motorcycle jacks w/wheels won't fit under , this is your answer. Great for raising bike up a little to make chain adjustments or clean wheels, would of giv'n it 5 stars , if it was a little wide, but just the same, a great jack, for the price, you can't beat it, and the quality is good as well, heavy gauge steel, well constucted, wish I had purchased one long ago .. | 18% Great for lifting up the front or rear tire while ... August 14, 2017 Great for lifting up the front or rear tire while on a table lift. It is NOT meant to function as a motorcycle jack. Its to be used on the floor or table lift to stabilize the bike, lift front or rear tire. DO NOT try to lift your bike completely off the ground with this. Raising my harley sportster for storage December 10, 2016 Works very well. Sturdy for enough for my 2016 HD Iron 883 to store during the winter. I have it in a storage unit so I will update if it does hold up or not. Very heavy but I think that's needed to be sturdy. It jacked my bike up pretty easily. Also, I tried to center it as much as possible but I think my bike is front heavy with the filled gas tank so the back wheel is completely off but my front wheel is touching the ground.I'm only giving 4 stars because it didn't come with a tool to crank it which in my opinion I would have liked. I had to borrow a 22mm (7/8") wrench. Other than that I have faith it will hold up. The scissor mechanism seems sturdy. I oiled it before use September 14, 2016 The scissor mechanism seems sturdy. I oiled it before use. It was easy to lift my Suzuki M50 (550 lbs) using a ratchet. I didn't need to get the wheels completely off the ground as I was just changing the oil but I felt confident I could have if I needed to. The problem I had was after one use the rubber mat on the top table ripped easily under the pressure revealing cheap glue underneath. Won't affect its usefulness. So far it seem like a pretty good lift June 13, 2016 So far it seem like a pretty good lift! Im a little worried about the bearings though. They dont seem to me like they will last long. Great product March 25, 2016 Use this jack to support my Road King during while away and do oil changes. if you jack the bike up just enough to have the tires touching it's reasonably stable enough not to worry additional supports of straps. |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% meh, with a side of uh oh... October 28, 2016 A bit flimsy for bikes at or above 500lbs. I would NOT trust it on anything bigger than a Dyna. After a warm day in the garage, the upper rubber matt slipped off of the plate and makes the bike slide around on the stand. Makes me worried that the bike will fall off, and leaves goo everywhere! I am an engineer in the motorcycle industry, and opted for this as an affordable option for home use. Works in a pinch, but next time I will go with the higher quality/price option. it works great. I would give it 5 Stars it fit ... October 26, 2015 Doesn't fit under the center of my 2009 Harley Sportster without having to take some extra steps using wood blocks so that I can re-position the jack once I get the bike high enough off the ground.Other than that, it works great. I would give it 5 Stars it fit under my motorcycle without having to get crafty. Nice quality...but August 14, 2015 If you are looking for something that is not complex to use and can get one side of a bike up...you have found the right thing. Trying to get a Harley touring bike up...as in both wheels up off the ground, is just slightly easier than picking your own parents at birth. It might be better on a sport bike or smaller bike, but if you want something that can get a touring class bike entirely up then I would look at something else. | 5% Not the best suited for it though but does the job anyways November 24, 2016 Use this for my harley. Not the best suited for it though but does the job anyways. The padding is good but is easily rip-able. Could do with a better padding maybe a denser material. Decent. September 20, 2016 Does a pretty good job but the bike is always slightly leaning. Makes me a bit nervous, even though it's not going anywhere. Its Alright June 12, 2016 Its okay... My motorcycle totters back and forth while on the jack, honestly Im afraid its going to fall over. its good if your doing something small like lubing up the chain, but if your going to be there for a couple hours, I wouldn't trust it. But hey for $80, not bad at all. It'll serve the intended purpose January 14, 2016 Bought this just in case I have a flat or need a new tire on the Harley. I always take the wheel off and reinstall myself after a new tire or flat. It will serve the purpose on our three year trip towing the bike behind the motor home. It will stow good. I know I'll have to raise the bike in at least two stages; raise and block, raise and block, etc. so I can get the wheel off.If you buy one I suggest before you use it under load to grease the screw and thrust bearing. A fully charged Dewalt impact screw driver did a fair job but elbow grease will work also. You will have to tie down the front and back of the bike due to the flexing of the narrow based lift.My Heritage Softail prob weighs 700lbs; conservatively. The quality is reflected in the price. small and convienient but no way to stabalize the bike ... December 5, 2014 small and convienient but no way to stabalize the bike once its off the ground |
Two Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 1% Especially annoying because I based my buying decision specifically on the ... March 23, 2017 Dimensions of table not as advertised. Listing claims 16" x 10". Actual dimensions 14-3/4" x 9". Especially annoying because I based my buying decision specifically on the stated larger dimensions. On the plus side, it appears to be solidly constructed and it does go up and down if you have a 7/8" socket to turn the raising and lowering screw. But it's a bear to turn with a ratchet, it will take several minutes to go from minimum to maximum extension. Have not yet tried using a drill as one reviewer suggested. Price too high and quality too little. March 20, 2016 Well, I guess you get what you pay for. In this case, too little and too much!Packing: box staples dug into the rubber on the top and left deep gouges—bad start.Construction: Typical poorly fitting construction and generally poor design. Can it be used? Yes, but probably not for long. For example, when fully raised the top is not level. That alone will lead to an exciting problem. That issue could have been accounted for by simply designing an eccentric hole for the bolts that attach the top and bottom plates. This would have allowed adjustment to account for the sloppy construction. The central screw, if the unit is raised fully, will run out of threads and thus the unit can be in a non-operable situation—stuck at the top. The simple addition of a second stop collar would have prevented this unhappy situation. All fittings were loose on arrival. |
One Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 6% Poorly designed product. April 9, 2016 Improper product description. According to the description, the lift is rated at 1100lbs. The package insert rates the product at 1000lbs. I did attempt to use it on my '16 Road Glide and it was very tedious trying to lift it using the bolt...my foot board was in the way of operating the lift. I gave up and decided to return it at that point. The rubber mat on top of the lift was already torn from my first attempted use. The good news is that it is compact and no assemble is required. Just a poorly designed product. I will continue looking for a standard motorcycle jack with wheels. Basic design good but lacking. September 4, 2015 This unit is a solidly built unit but it needed some modifications for it to operate smoothly. I do not recommend it unless you are lifting only lighter loads or are good with mechanical analysis and modification. Tilts Aft even slightly Aft CG - Zero Trust with the Harley Airborne ... August 31, 2015 Arrived right on Prime Time - Have a Craftsman Floor Foot Pump Jack I use most of the time, stash it under a work bench and takes 2 peeps since I have to ride the Scoot up on a 2x4 for clearance. Reviews were mostly good on this scissor jack, price was reasonable. I know the perfect CG on my CVO Harley FXR3 - 700 lbs tops. No matter whether it was slightly F or R heavy by making slight adjustments, the scissor was always uneven aft by 2 or 3 inches at half height. Do NOT trust it! I do love Prime - sent it back! Keep Looking ......... pin holding the nut that you use to crank it ... July 28, 2015 pin holding the nut that you use to crank it up and down with sheared after two months of use. Bike weighs 650 lbs. Broke the first time I tried to use it. March 24, 2014 When I received this product the top looked to be in good condition, but the base had multiple drag-like scratches on it like it had been used before and returned. I thought perhaps it was reconditioned and sent (instead of being new). The very first time I put this under my 700 pound bike and tried to lift, the drive head broke off the auger bolt. It was not threaded or tack welded and was only attached by a small shear pin. I actually was happy that it broke while trying to lift rather than first getting the bike elevated into the air and being stuck with no way to lower. Would not recommend this product.I finally called the supplier (Craig's Affordable Tools). Their customer service department said that they wanted to help resolve my complaint in whatever fashion I found most suitable. They would refund the purchase, replace or repair. While I am still not a fan of this specific product, I am satisfied with (Affordable Tools) customer service. |
