Went through all the settings so they could ONLY do what I wanted them to be able to do. I have never had a problem with it lagging or the kids getting to anywhere they are not supposed to. I LOVE IT! They watch You Tube Kids on a regular basis and it has never had a problem playing the videos. Got this tablet for an in law at a great price. | Very very nice productAugust 22, 2017 There were many times when the tablet would shut off and restart. The battery in itself last more than two years. This product has an excellent display and I have enjoyed hours upon hours with this high quality product. I will be buying from the Samsung tablet line again. Comparing to and iPadApril 8, 2017 My last tablet was an iPad that I had purchased somewhere around 2011. I basically only used it to surf the internet, because to be quite frank that was all it was good for at this point (no more updates to the mega old iOS). My husband had one of these Samsung tablets for about 18 months and has done fine so, I thought I'd hop on the Android express. So far it's working great for me.The onscreen keyboard seems super sensitive so I have been mistyping more than usual. I think after some time I'll get used to it and not have any problems. I am not even sure why I'm having this issue. Smaller screen than my iPad perhaps? But that's just me.This thing is thin. Be prepared for the thin, light feel of it. It certainly feels more fragile than my old iPad. I am going to get a case ASAP because the back is sort of slippery and hard to grip. I feel like I could drop it easily.The operating speed on this tablet is on par with my cell and home computer so I don't feel like it lacks there.I have watched a few videos from social media and they look good.I don't take many photos on this tablet, the ones I took were of the flower beds and gardens in bright daylight. I was not impressed with them. But I'm used to a DSLR so maybe I just have high expectations of what a photo should look like??I'd recommend this tablet to anyone. It is far cheaper than my old iPad cost and I hope it lasts me many years (don't worry, I'll be back to complain if it doesn't!) It came with Microsoft Word, Excel, & Power Point which are nice to have but I think they might be taking up a lot of space. There was less than 6gb remaining with everything loaded. You might be happier getting 32gb. Also, the camera sucks (hence the 4 stars). Camera on my IPhone is much better, but I did not get this tablet to take photos. I use it for FB, email, playing games, and checking the internet while I am at home. As I said, it is a nice little tablet, but you need to decide if it's what you're looking for. However, the screen freezes up quite often, and you have to rotate the tablet 90 degrees to unlock the frozen screen. | So soSeptember 30, 2017 Hate the fact that it doesn't have the infrared remote built in. Can't use it for the TV. The back button is also hard to hit. It's too small. The tablet is overall OK. Actually liked my old tab 3 far better but the battery in that one went bad and wouldn't keep a charge. I wouldn't buy this one again. but it works good. It's very hit-or-miss on registering taps; anything on the left 1/2"-1" of the screen will only register a touch about 10% of the time. There's a ton of useless bloatware on it; I was going to root it and remove the excess, but it's not really worth the effort. It seems slow, even though I'm getting 22Mbps on my internet connection. Back she goes, which is too bad, because I really like Samsung products. Buyer BewareAugust 31, 2016 This tablet seems to be a great deal at first glance. However, buyer beware. Before you purchase this item you should research their failure to power up. Less than a year after I purchased mine it would not power up. After researching the problem I found that it is not unusual for this to happen. Unfortunately mine did not respond to any of suggested "fixes". Now I am stuck with a tablet I cannot use and Samsung said I voided the warranty when I tried installing a new battery. I've had two Nexus 7s before this, and this much better (OS, screen, etc.) The only complaint -- and it's a deal killere for me -- is that Samsung has gotten rid of the RHL capabilities, meaning you can no longger stream their devises to a TV through HDMI with a simple adapter. I do a lot of traveling, and hotel TVs don't allow Chromecast or other wifi devices, so the stream function on the Nexus 7 was greeat to have. They've done the same thing on their Note and Galaxy phones, without adverstising that fact. Shame on Samsung. | | | | |
