Looks great in the garden. Very pleased.
It is of great quality but you get what you pay for

This product comes with everything you need. It is of great quality but you get what you pay for. This is made of softwood and is very light. I am a light person so I don't recommend this to a heavy couple. It fits right for me.

This chair is the best $20 something bucks I've ever spent
June 28, 2016
This chair is the best $20 something bucks I've ever spent. I bought some 550 cord and used it to hang this chair from a tree branch near my daughter's swingset so I have a place to sit while she plays. It is so comfortable and relaxing. Half the time she gets off the swingset to come sit on my lap. She has fallen asleep in the swing with me a few times! I was worried how it would hold up in the rain (we live in Florida and it rains almost every day), but it's been fine. It dries very quickly and still looks like new after several months out in the tree. I have recommended this chair to so many people!
Great buy

Bought this for my son (7y) that is on the spectrum! He is always wanting to sit or hug on me and sometimes it's just too hot and he's also getting heavier! 😊 This gives him that comforting feeling and I can sit and enjoy my wine!! He loves it!! It is very well made and takes a few minutes to put together!! 5 stars
Surprised by the quality
April 7, 2013
I bought two of these swings - the other is the multi color red stripe. I was not expecting very much when I ordered these to be honest. I had bought the cheaper rope chair version previously and it was horrid (see my review of that separately). Consequently I ordered these because my kids were so upset over the loss of their rope chairs. When these swings first came out of the box I was very pleased with the thick fabric and sturdy seams. I wish the roping was poly and not cotton since it will not fray however, it can be replaced eventually if I need to. The wood hanging rod is solid and smooth. The rope hanger loops need to be threaded onto the rod - I found that the swing loops should be threaded first THEN the hanger piece last. There are no instructions that came with the swings however, it is simple common sense really. I hung these from the existing swing set and my kids absolutely love them. The sides are individually strung so they mold to your body as you sit in it. The pillows are very soft and plump but not really necessary. Neither of my kids use the pillows as they found it more comfy without them. They were nearly double in price of the rope chairs but the quality is far and away superior and thus absolutely worth it. As for sizes, I cannot attest to the comfort of anyone bigger than I am but I am 5'2" and about 115lbs and it fits me perfectly. I was almost asleep in it yesterday as I lounged in the sun. My kids are 9 and 6 and they have a lot more room in the swings so they can almost lay down inside them. They curl up with a book or an ipad and are completely content. If you are looking for a hammock chair this is a good choice.

Good swing for the price.
August 14, 2016
This is a good swing for the price. It is not heavy duty so it will not stand up to children climbing around on it, rough use, or if an adult does not sit down gently especially if they do not sit next to the arm. Usually a swing would be installed using swing springs at the top of the chains to relieve strain on the swing if somebody sits down hard. These should probably be used and must be purchased separately. It was easy to put together in just a few minutes.

Back of the swing isn't high enough for me, but its acceptable.
Excellent swing if you don't mind doing a little work.
March 18, 2016
Overall, I'm quite happy with this swing. I found it to be well constructed for a swing at this price point, and I liked that it came unfinished so I could do with it what I wanted. I stained it maple, sprayed many layers of spar poly, then lightly wet-sanded down the texture with superfine paper. Looks sharp. If I had it to do over, I'd have used a sealer before I stained. That wood is super thirsty. My favorite thing about the swing are the chains and hardware. They really look high-end. Give the wood a decent finish, and this Jennings swing can actually end up a pretty nice little piece of furniture. Nobody's going to believe you spent less than $100.Several reviews observe their swing was insufficiently sturdy or durable. Perhaps Jack Post has changed the Jennings' construction or materials since they got theirs, but I find my swing to be adequately sturdy. As to durability, you'll definitely need to paint or polyurethane it, or of course the weather and sun will break it down. So if you don't want to do any finish work, this is not your swing.I deducted a star because the back slats float in the channel, and it was kind of a hassle to re-space them properly and secure them in place. Also it's neither here nor there, but by my tape, it's a little bit shy of 5 feet. No deduction for that, but it should be noted.

Loving it. I'm swinging while writing this review. The instructions suggested painting it and I chose white.
NICE SWING
June 20, 2014
This is a nice swing for the money. I stained and sealed it prior to putting it together and it worked out beautifully. I would have liked for the wood slats to have a little more backbone to it, but it seems to be OK. I have had three normal size people in it and all were very comfortable. I'll have to wait to see how it holds up.

We love these but will probably have to replace the hanging ropes.
March 12, 2016
I don't think we will get off of these all spring! I bought two to hang on my porch and they are so much fun! It took a little bit to find a comfortable position partly because I thought they would come up over my head. It pretty much stops at my shoulders and I am 5'2", however, after a few adjustments it was great. I recommend using the pillows in the position they are in the picture, if you want to sit more upright. Without the pillows it is more cozy for snuggling in, you just have to find the right spot so you can rest your head or hold it comfortably. My husband is about 6" and has a large build, he sat down and felt completely comfortable at once. He said it didn't bother his neck or head and really felt comfortable on his shoulders. We hung them with chains and carabiners to attach to the rope and it works great! (We already had the hooks and chains on our porch from our porch swing, just added some carabiners from the garage.) Another point to mention, the bars are 3 feet long, which is no problem for me, but wider than I thought they would be. They are made of all cotton, so I don't anticipate them lasting more than a summer or two, but who knows? And, for the price, they are WELL worth it!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend them and I'm looking forward to spending many pleasant days sitting with my family!*1month later: the ropes hanging them up are not holding up well. We still love them but need to find a way to replace the ropes.
Good product for the price!
February 19, 2016
I bought this for my 14 year old son & so far he loves it. The wooden bar is thicker than it looks in the photo, which I was happy about since a few people said it seemed weak. So far our doesn't seem to be bending or cracking. The swing does tilt to one side slightly - seems like the blue ropes attaching to either end of the bar are not quite even. Also the pillows are not attached & for some reason I expected them to be. It is really just a small hammock with a couple of pillows.
It looks pretty good, tho - just like the pic
June 17, 2015
It's not all that comfy. the fabric is slightly scratchy and presses into your legs a bit. It looks pretty good, tho - just like the pic. it seems sturdy. For the price, it's a good value. i enjoy hanging out and reading in it at night.i hung mine with clothes line rope rather than a chain. If you use rope, here is a SIMPLE and safe knot to use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6frvlomiHAQ. with this knot, it takes no time at all to put it up and take it down when it rains.
Nice chair, weak bar
May 15, 2015
We recently ordered a "C-Swing" to hang a chair that we bought in Costa Rica. The chair drug the bottom of the C. We tried hanging some old sky chairs with the same results. I ordered this chair hoping it would fit and it does. I'm 170 pounds and there is close to one foot of clearance when I sit in it. The fabric is softer than I imagined it would be and I am overall happy with the purchase. What is disappointing is the wooden bar. It is actually visibly bent and bends a bit more when either my wife or I sit in the chair and I really don't feel that safe in it. I will be replacing that piece, which I feel I shouldn't have to but it's not that big of a deal for me.
Good buy. Great fun for kids.
May 26, 2014
It is a good purchase for fun alternative seating. We purchased two of these hammock chairs foe our 12 year old and any visiting friend. It will hold an adult but being 50, it not going to be comfortable for any extended sitting. We recently had a remodel and asked the contractor to install connectors to the support beams. I also purchased the porch swing springs and Extra heavy duty clips. My contractor did not like the wooden rod. His concern was it wouldn't hold a heavy adult and any fall to concrete can result in injury. He recommended we connect the chair directly to the beam rings and use a welded chain to adjust height. I installed as originally designed and will regularly check for wear. It was intended for kids to use. The fabric is as pictured. The pillows are flimsy and will need better stuffing. I did paint the wooden rod to protect it. I have it hanging in our covered lanai. My daughter enjoys time in it. I weight 100 lbs and can sit in it a short time before my neck starts to bother me. My Harley is way more comfortable than that chair. I do recommend it it others if you have a young back. It was a great buy and no shipping fee with Prime.
A Good Bargain
October 10, 2013
I purchased two of these hammock chairs at the beginning of the summer. I didn't want to spend a lot because I wasn't sure they would work out on my deck.(I have a pergola over the deck thatthey hang from.) If they didn't work out, at least I didn't invest too much money. They worked out beautifully! Although they are made of cheaper fabrics than the higher priced ones, I have no real complaints. The wooden poles that they hang from are a "raw" wood so I painted them with a good outdoor paint. Although they are made out of a Haitian cotton and it's recommended that they do not stay out in the rain, I have left them out on many occasions with no problems. I still do try to take them down when I know an extended period of bad weather is due. I don't want to push my luck! On the whole, I am very happy with them. It's an inexpensive, fun and comfortable addition to my deck.

Not much to it. Hope it is cypress wood as was advertised; otherwise will not last long.
OK but not great
September 9, 2016
OK for 65 dollars but do not expect much. I painted it to make it last a little longer. Mostly for the kids to use not very sturdy for adults. The Aimish swings are the best. I bought one of them for another property and they are by far the best wooden swing.
The swing is good but it is really my fault
May 21, 2015
The swing is good but it is really my fault. for not realizing that the length was pretty short. I knew it was 5 feet but did not even think about checking the length. I love having a swing and sometimes I lie down and take a nap which is difficult. If I could I would return it but it is already put on thanks to my husband. Oh well.
Nice deal but verycheaply made
July 25, 2013
I got this even with the not so good reviews. I did indeed reinforce the back and that worked out great. The seat however has knots in it and one slat has already broken under my 8 year old (~85 lbs). You must sand and varnish it before use which takes a couple days. We will keep it and fix it, but buyer beware. We might pay a little more for one that is ready to hang, next time.
Get what you pay for..
September 24, 2012
This item arrived before the extimated delivery date which was great. The swing was very easy to put together and after staining it we hung it with no issue. However, after only two days (with very little use) the slats became unsecured and the seat started popping up from the ends. I have attempted on a few occasions to hammer the nails back in but they keep popping out. I guess you get what you pay for...
It's OK
January 29, 2012
After opening the box, this swing really makes you question if the cost savings was worth it. Don't get me wrong, it was easy to assemble and does hold my weight with my two young kids, but based on how it felt while swinging, I was constantly wondering if we were going to plunge to the ground. Like others suggested, I'm going to strengthen with some extra screws and 1x2's to make it more sturdy. I'm glad I didn't have fork out an extra $100 bucks or start from scratch and buy all the supplies from the box store though. I won't mind the little extra effort. Does the job...recommended if you don't mind a little more securing work.

the chair is not extremely sturdy and the wood dowel bar broke after a week and we had not exceeded the weight limit on it. replaced the wood bar with a sturdier one but disappointed with the quality.
I like this swing and the quality seemed to be ok
June 6, 2017
I like this swing and the quality seemed to be ok, but after only a few days of my girls using it the rope loop at the top un-raveled and I have no idea how to fix it? I am sending it back. Had the rope stayed together I would have been very happy with it. It holds the weight well and was really fun!
Not bad, not great.
May 12, 2016
Overall kinda meh. You get what you pay for. I liked the look, functionally ok, but not the most comfortable for me at 6', 220 lbs. Held my weight fine, but I foresee it not lasting past one or two summers. I returned and spent less than 10 more for a sturdier canvas type.
Good quality. Sturdy. Wish were bigger.
April 18, 2016
Sturdy chair. Well constructed. Only reason it's not 5 stars is I almost feel like it's a little small? I'm 5 foot 3 inches, 130 pounds so this is a little surprising. Its not that I don't fit, it's just that all I can do is sit perfectly straight in this chair. I was a little disappointed when I tried tucking a leg under me and I couldn't. Wish it had a few extra inches of width so I could sit cross legged in this chair. Wondering if a bigger person wouldnt fit in this chair. Besides that, well made and will probably last a long time. I bring mine in after use to avoid damage by the elements. Oh, the wooden bar is very thick and very sturdy - I mention this because I read a negative review mentioning a thin bar and I am surprised. Perhaps they upgraded the bar?
Great construction, cute color combo
October 7, 2015
Great construction, cute color combo, easy to hang, but just WAY TOO SMALL for a normal-sized adult. You can definitely sit in it and it will hold you up just fine, but unless you are quite wee, it's definitely not a cozy, loungy experience. Mostly it will just make you sad you didn't spring for a full-sized hammock. Fun for kids, who can use it as a swing.
It was decently comfortable, just not what we were hoping for
September 9, 2015
We weren't that impressed. It was unraveling a bit and was a little more floppy than we had hoped. It was decently comfortable, just not what we were hoping for.

Super cheaply made
July 30, 2017
Super cheaply made. Literally split a few different pieces of the wood by tightening it with my hands. Half of the screws and staples were loose or stripped out when it arrived. I got it put together but doesn't really feel like it was safe enough to sit on.I guess it works for now. We painted it white.
Feedback - swing
June 18, 2017
Classic lines but inferior wood and weight. The arms and support bracket are cheap in appearance. The seat had been damaged with gauges and splintery surface. Not certain if it happened with shipment or prior. Not a keeper. Bought it for Buyer of my home so can't return it.

October 24, 2016
Great price, but I can now see why..... seat broke the first time sitting on the swing. All the work of putting swing together and to stain it, just not worth it! :-(
Low quality
May 8, 2016
I have had this swing for almost 2 months and today while we were sitting on it the entire bottom portion collapsed. Build quality is not that great. A few scratches and jammed fingers, next time I will look for a better product.
great price, but needs to be modified.
May 29, 2013
the swing is very cheaply made but knew that after reading the reviews, so i planned on making some modifications. i bought an 8' 1x2 and 8' 2x2 for $5.00, raised the back up about 3" and cut a 2x2 into sections to support the back. i figured buying the swing would save me alot of work and for $85.00 you really can't beat it and it makes the wife happy for a couple of weeks until she decides she needs something else. i weigh 215 lbs and my wife weighs 135, i would be skeptical of using it without adding some support to the back.
Broke the second time we sat on it
May 31, 2012
It sure looks nice-but the wood is so cheap. My 200lb hubby sat on it and the wood snapped in one corner-we willmost likely have the handyman try to reinforce it-It would be great if it was just for kids-

Didn't hold up to it's standards!! :(
October 11, 2016
This product did not hold up for even 8 months - and we didn't use it all summer as we were outdoors. The top part across the bar, one of the side came apart therefore the swing no longer functions.Boo! We bought it for our autistic son and now he can't use it anymore.Bummer. Will not buy another one to replace it seeing it didn't even last a year.
Keep Looking - there has to be a better stronger bigger one out there
May 31, 2016
It did not break, it did not tear, it worked pretty damn good at holding my 240 lbs frame. I am not going to return it but I do have some bad things to say about this chair and the people that sell it.The picture is not the product you get. The picture has two pillows but the only way the picture could be the same is if you took two sets of pillows and stacked them one on top of the other. I could of purchased the same thing for a few dollars less but the picture made me believe that this product would be better. They are probably the exact same product but the other picture was more realistic. I don't know why the materials are so cheap and not a bit stronger so that it would last. So I would ask the seller of these to "Please take the photo picture off and replace it with the real product. (Stop deceiving people.)
Would not hang straight.
September 14, 2015
I bought this chair and didn't use it for 3 weeks, it looked good and exactly what I wanted. However, when we took it camping and put it on the chair stand it wouldn't hang straight. It was crooked and no matter what we did we couldn't get it to hang straight. When we returned from our trip, it was 2 days past the Amazon return deadline. I attempted to contact Amazon and the seller but I guess I'm stuck with this one.

June 16, 2015
I wish the information would have said the pillows are not attached. They are flimsy. I think it is going to be hard to keep them in place.I also think the wooden bar is going to be in my headroom. I ordered the spring that was suggested and it is over kill for this flimsy chair!!! I don't think it's going to allow much of a bounce, I will have to pick one up from the local hardware store..I will let you know how it goes....

May 14, 2015
From the picture I expected this hammock to be more contoured. It is also sort or short and difficult to find a cozy position. But then it was not very expensive. The only reason I bought this over the "rope type" was because my dogs kept playing with the rope hammocks (which were more expensive and more comfortable)
Coming apart after one month
April 20, 2015
We've had this for 32 days and it started to fray already. I'm having to knot the broken rope pieces together for it to hold. I'm 2 days beyond the return policy. :( I hope it still holds up but I would not buy again. We put it inside every night so I don't know why it is falling apart so easily.

Do not buy a Jack Post swing.
August 2, 2017
Swing was delivered without some of the hardware. We contacted Jack Post but got no answer. We went to a hardware store and got what we needed, put it together, stained it, and used it for about a month. It is rated for 400 lbs. My 240-pound son sat on it today and it completely broke apart. So disappointed in this product and the seller.
Watch for damage in shipping
June 13, 2017
Apart of the end near the screw holes was broken when I received. I stated to stain the other section before I saw the damage. I repaired the product and it's just fine now. Please make sure to take a look at the swing especially the ends for any kind of damage before Assembling the swing..

April 16, 2017

This swing I really debated in buying and I would return it but by the time I pay for shipping it wouldn't be worth it. As other reviews had said the string on it was tore when we revived it, and I would leave the seller feedback but my app does not have a seller feed back button.
CHEAP. CHEAP. ANd Overpriced for so much CHEAP.
February 26, 2016
Does not support any sort of weight, had a 45lb kid use it and it broke, causing injury. I used heavy duty supports on a laundry post ( metal) for support and the material shredded after a few minutes of a child sitting in it, calmly. Not impressed, nor will I recommend.

January 12, 2016
I ordered a pair of these last year and we loved em! Loved em so much we bought another pair for some friends. They arrived in a different state than the 1st pair. The last ones were of a dangerously cheaper and flimsier construction. I witnessed two falls in these poorly made chairs. BTW: I know they were installed correctly because I installed all 4 of these chairs. I would not recommend these chairs to anyone who is not a professional stunt person.

This is a terrible chair! We bought it right before we left for a long trip. (During the returnable timeframe). We put it up this last week. Not only did the wooden piece fly out when my same 4 year old sat on it, then in a matter of 5 days it completely broke on him too. The rope that attaches to the rope loop the wood goes on was attached with the tiniest piece of string. Not happy that this only last a few day! Horrible horrile horrible!!
I purchased one of these chairs from a different vendor and it was perfect. Large enough for myself to sit in comfortably
May 18, 2015
I don't understand. I purchased one of these chairs from a different vendor and it was perfect. Large enough for myself to sit in comfortably. I am a 5'11 185 pound grown man. So I ordered another chair. The first vendor was out of stock so chose a new vendor and the second one arrived much smaller. The ropes to hang on the second one are thinner. The fabric that makes the chair portion is much smaller in size. And the dowel rod is thinner and not as long. Nowhere in the description does this chair look any different. In fact Amazon suggested the second vendor for the purchase. The smaller chair barely fits my 7 year old son. How disappointing.
