Five Star Reviews: | 67% While there is nothing wrong with the rolling pin itself ... February 23, 2016 While there is nothing wrong with the rolling pin itself, the way I was sealed is a bit unnerving. They had some sort of glue on the rolling part (as if the bag wasn't long enough to cover the entire pin) that took a lot of elbow grease to get off and even then I have to scrub some more but arm was starting to hurt so let it dry over night for me to work on again tomorrow night. very sturdy April 14, 2014 I had given my rolling pins to my grown daughter when I decided years ago to stop baking, including my grandmother's rolling pin. Now my grandchildren are grown coming for visits so I am in the mood to start baking again. The first thing would be to make and roll out some pie crust for Apple pies. Not having a rolling pin I ordered from Amazon at a much reduced price then I could ever find/ in the stores I ordered one from Amazon. I am thrilled with this rolling pin and love saving so much on the cost. serves it purpose! February 28, 2014 Great! It's a rolling pin does its job! Quick shipping great price rolls great. Accurate with size and quality, would recommend to others! | 73% Great cooling racks June 23, 2017 I've been needing these for so long. They are great, works well for fried chicken, French fries and all kinds of other things. I like my food crispy so these are a must have. They seem like a non stick surface, they're the perfect size. Oven safe!! May 3, 2017 I bought this for the oven and for cooling items. So far I have tested this for 50 mins in the oven at 400 degrees, I was cooking pig skins. It was easy to clean none of the nonstick coating came off, now my kitchen was smoky but when your cooking pig skins the grease melts off and creates smoke plus I spilled some of the grease in the stove. Will try oven fried chicken and french fries next. Love the non-stick coating so they won't rust or tarnish! April 29, 2017 These are simple yet effective baking racks that come in a 2 pack, dimensions as described 10X16 inches. The thing I love about them is that they are coated in a black Nonstick texture that won't tarnish or rust like the baking rack I am replacing! They sit fairly low to the counter, which isn't a problem or anything just more of an FYI. Perfect for what I need them for and easy to store! These are perfect. The only wire cooling racks I had were ... March 22, 2017 These are perfect. The only wire cooling racks I had were the ones without the cross bars so cookies would fall through and they were flimsy. These are sturdy and have the perfect sized openings. I also like that they are coated so no rusting. I think they're great October 23, 2016 These are very nice while being inexpensive. As someone who has always had to create makeshift cooling racks, this was a pleasant oddity. Made cooling and decorating doughnuts a breeze. I noted in other reviews that these are rusting problems, so I've been careful to simply wipe them down with a cloth and then thoroughly dry- has worked fine so far. I'm also very happy to note that they fit well over pans and baking dishes, which makes cleaning up much simple afterwards After seeing them, I ordered a second set! April 4, 2015 I am not using it for cooling my baked goods. I'm using it to air out my cold-process soap, so that it will cure faster. For that purpose, these racks are great. They fit in my drawer perfectly and because they are cross-hatched, I don't get weird indentations in my soap bars. I'd imagine the opinion would be the same for people cooling cookies or other goods that don't cool in a pan. Instead of seeing the cookie sink between a single bar rack, I know the cookie would be kept level and cool more evenly, as well. Price-wise, this is a great rack and does all it says it will. In fact, I ordered my second set today! | 67% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% Rolling pin January 30, 2016 It's a rolling pin and does it's job. Reason for 4 stars is due to the Amazon product description that said it was dishwasher safe and the physical product says that it isn't. Very misleading Almost perfect! December 22, 2015 Nice, lightweight and color exactly as pictured. Mine came with a 1/2 dent right in the middle which will bother me but not enough to fuss with an exchange. I like to make homemade pizza every now and then and ... August 1, 2015 I like to make homemade pizza every now and then and this rolling pin does the trick!! It's a good size and everything. Excellent product November 29, 2014 This was an extra I ordered while visiting my son for his house. It is great and works as well as my expensive one at home. THe only drawback is that I wish it had a hole in the end of the handle so we could hant it on the hook rack. Fine for the Price November 25, 2014 I needed a pin to get me through till xmass when the hubby is going to give me a fancy one. This one is too too narrow in Diameter to use the handles effectively-(rubbed knuckles) but I can use the top of the roller, so no worries. Would be best for a medium sized child 7-13. with smaller hands . | 16% Directions for use: Bake your cookies. Take them from the oven. Cool them on these trays. April 13, 2017 Great for cooling muffins, scones, and other baked goods. They dip a little in the middle, but there's still enough clearance to air cool your treats. That's what they do. Nothing else. If you're looking for something other than a non-stick rack to cool your baked goods after they've been removed from the oven ... look elsewhere. it's good. Not flimsy January 10, 2017 For what it is, a cooling rack, it's good. Not flimsy, but not really sturdy - you don't really need sturdy for cookies or other baked goodies. Just used both last night baking a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies - each easily fits a dozen and you could possible squeeze on there 15 regular sized cookies on there. Could easily do a 9 inch circular cake on each. The nonstick coating makes cleaning a breeze. The reason I am only giving it 4 stars is that one seems to have an ever so slight dip in the middle - like I said, not the most sturdy in build, but that doesn't prevent it from cooling a batch of cookies. Functional and light, albeit a bit easy to bend July 9, 2016 These wire racks are great! They're light, easy to stack and store, and easy to clean because of they're nonstick coatings. I use them for baking all the time. They are durable and I haven't had any issues with the nonstick coating peeling off, and I am sure these will last quite some time. The only drawback I've found to them so far is that the wires in the frame are a bit thin and it's easy for them to bend. As such, it's only been a month or so since I got them and they're bowing inwards slightly. I can bend them back but they don't always stay that way and I do not want to break them. It hasn't caused any problems, but it can be a bit tricky if it makes things like muffins fall over sometimes. Good but could be better January 8, 2016 I like these racks, as they're very affordable and nonstick. Although it's kind of a nuisance to hand-wash them - I'm afraid to wash them in the dishwasher based on others' reviews. Also, while not a huge downfall to the product, they're not super sturdy. I stacked a heavy pan on top of one rack once, and now the middle of the rack is "sinking" a little. But since they're meant for cakes and cookies and other lightweight items, this shouldn't be a problem. Just be mindful of what you stack on them! Fine so far September 26, 2015 So far, so good.PROS: cheaper than any seen in a store; more surface area than a comparable, more expensive set; tight weave so baked goods don't fall through cracks; non-stickCONS: lighter than other cooling racks I've used, so it feels cheap (but it still does the job); non-stick coating requires hand-washing and drying, no dishwasher, unfortunately.I am aware of the *rust* issue, so I will update this review if that happens, taking care of the non-stick surface by hand washing and drying. No update since 9/2015 means they have held up so far. Great for cooling, but how do you wash it? March 20, 2013 Never having had a cooling rack before, I wasn't prepared for the task of cleaning it afterward. All those fiddly little wire squares are a hassle to clean in a sink; and I don't have a dishwasher. Even with the great coating on the wires, it is still a chore requiring infinite patience. However, other than that, the rack is plenty heavy enough to take whatever I have thrown at it so far. I am pleased with it, outside of the work I have to do cleaning it. I think I will be using a lot of paper towels, or even aluminium foil to cut my work load, even if it does lengthen colling time. | 14% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 9% Does as advertised. Hard to muck one of these ... November 5, 2016 Does as advertised. Hard to muck one of these up. Rolls rough. May 21, 2016 I bought this hoping for a little smoother roll. I guess it's fine for the price but don't expect a easy roll. Three Stars March 21, 2016 seen better but this works for a good beginner. the wires that hold the handles seem weak.. Maybe not the best for GF dough November 27, 2015 I made my first GF crust using this pin. I can't blame the pin since I know that GF crusts are much more crumbly... but my dough stuck like crazy. just OK rolling Pin June 25, 2014 Light weight rolling pin- not very big. It has no finish on it and might splinter with time. If your intention is to use this rolling pin often I would suggest looking at another item. This is a good tool to use with kids. | 6% Just OK July 18, 2017 Not super impressed with these. Not quite big enough to go edge to edge on a half sheet pan, and kind of flimsy. Both of them have warped a little after just a few uses and kind of rock. Work as expected but already rusting June 9, 2017 These racks came as expected, but are already rusting after 2 months. In addition to using them to cool cookies, I use them to "grill" meat in the oven, placing the meat on the rack and the rack over a casserole dish or cookie sheet. Thin and poor shipping packaging March 31, 2017 The metal it's self is thinner than I expected. Also, poor shipping packaging. Both racks bow inward. I Only for Big sized cookies to cool November 17, 2016 These appear to be good quality however, the holes are on the big side. Some cookies I make are smaller and these definitely won't hold them well - they would fall apart on these.. Only for big sized cookies. Baker's Secret 1061483 10-by-16-Inch Nonstick Cooling Rack, Set of 2 Review August 9, 2016 Baker's Secret 1061483 10-by-16-Inch Nonstick Cooling Rack, Set of 2 ReviewThese are your standard cooling racks. They still bend a little in the middle with anything to heavy on them. I'm still happy with them as i only use them for overflow or cookies that aren't heavy. Coated in black they are easy to clean in the sink. Not recommended. January 19, 2016 Needed some additional baker's cooling racks and purchased these. They were listed under Frequently Bought Together so I just added them to my cart when I was buying some baking sheets. Big mistake. These are flimsy and coated with a black plastic material. They have a grid pattern which is more difficult to clean. Don't think these will last long, but i dont want the hassle of returning them. Oh, well. | 5% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% Two Stars April 8, 2016 doesnt work very well, sticks when trying to roll out dough. needs to be bigger and heavier. All the high reviews baffle me and the list price indicated may be correct but, if so, it's ridiculous. March 5, 2015 How this rolling pin gets such high reviews baffles me. The listing shows the list price as $45, which is a total joke as far as I'm concerned. This is a small rolling pin -- 10" long (not counting the handles) and 2" in diameter -- and it doesn't rotate smoothly. I'm sure it will work for small tasks, but I barely consider it worth the special deal price of $5 that I paid for it. The rolling pin is so small in diameter my knuckles ... January 3, 2015 The rolling pin is so small in diameter my knuckles drag on the dough. I will be donating it to a local organization. meh... January 1, 2015 Works but seems really cheap, if you consider yourself a baker then you'll probably want to skip this one. If you're like me and just want something that works then this is a good value buy. wood rolling pin December 30, 2014 The rolling pin arrive in a timely manner; however, the rolling pin did not have a smooth round surface. It has small indentations and a flat place on the roller. To top it off, the handles attached to the roller are not centered and cause a bit of a wobble when using it. I am disappointed with the purchase. | 3% Misleading. Not oven safe. October 23, 2017 fine for cooling rack, but i assumed that if it was non-stick that would mean you could cook on it too. The literature that came with it made it clear you can't cook on it, since it isn't oven safe. This was misleading. What would require non-stick surface if it wan't being cooked on? They will work for cookies nothing else April 21, 2017 inexpensive kitchen gear, these fit the bill .they will work for cookies, anything heavier like fried chicken it bucks in. Rusting and warped. February 28, 2017 I am disappointed in this purchase. I did receive this in a timely fashion but my problem is that these have rusted after cleaning them once. I also have the problem where these are slightly warped, I do not think that was due to shipping since they arrived safely in an undamaged box. These cool cookies great June 18, 2016 I have used these now for a few months. These cool cookies great, but anything heavier than that is worthless. They sag whenever I put loaves of bread on them. They sag and bounce and sag, they're unstable with their tiny legs. If I had known this a when I was looking for a cooling rack, I would have splurged for something I could use in the oven and is sturdy. If you want something cheap for cookies and croissants, go ahead. Anything else, look elsewhere. If you need something for a one-off baking project these are fine, but if you want to invest in your ... January 10, 2016 These are so cheap that they buckle almost down to the counter in the middle when you have anything on them-- but what else do you expect for $8. If you need something for a one-off baking project these are fine, but if you want to invest in your baking tools then spend a bit more. | 4% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 4% Product looked nice but as soon as you put any pressure down ... October 21, 2016 Product looked nice but as soon as you put any pressure down on it, it would lock up and was impossible to use. Surface is not sufficiently smooth February 20, 2016 The surface is not evenly sanded/smoothed in all places which can be a problem. Don't purchase this rolling pin! April 20, 2015 It doesn't have bearings and therefore only wants to tear dough. 99% of the time I'm 99% satisfied with the stuff I buy on Amazon but... August 29, 2014 ...this one I didn't even take out of the plastic. I'm sending it back. 1st...it looks like they skimped on the construction and they did. 2nd..the handles bend with the slightest pressure. They just feel like they're going to give way. 3rd...in my opinion, its not as described so, 4th and finally...I checked a different one out at a big box retailer and it was far superior for only a couple of bucks more. I should add though that Amazon offered to give me a credit so that's cool. poor quality wood January 20, 2014 worked ok the first use, but after cleaning, the wood developed a deep crack. next time i will pay more for silicone instead of wood. | 2% Disappointed January 2, 2017 I received my racks today, they are not chrome as written in the description, but black coated metal of somekind. The grid is damaged on one side, not attached on one of the outside edges. These probably won't see much use. rusted after a week, not at all non-stick September 28, 2016 rusted after a week, not at all non-stick Not a good secret to keep. October 26, 2015 You get what you pay for! When you read the product information on the label, you discover that, yes, they are"cooling racks", but only if what you are cooling is not too hot. No hot dishes or pans, not to be used as a trivet, not to be used in any kind of oven, or any kind of cooking. Light weight, coated, hand wash. I would have returned them if it hadn't cost more than they were worth. I did put my freshly baked cookies on it a few minutes later so it was fine for that October 2, 2015 I am sure this is adequate for cooling a few cookies but they are very lightweight and flimsy. I briefly rested a pan of lasagna out of the oven on one for a few seconds while transferring it to a large wooden cutting board and the entire rack warped. It melted into waves and bent. I did put my freshly baked cookies on it a few minutes later so it was fine for that. Non-stick is Good, Rusting is Not January 13, 2015 I did not like the painted surface of these racks and opted for the more common chrome racks. I honestly didn't wait for these to rust or peel as many had reported, but returned them. Peeled Quickly. September 29, 2014 I used and washed them, in accordance to the manufacturer's instructions, only a few times before they began to peel. I thought what I was seeing was dirt, but it was actually the metal underneath the black coating.I'm sure they might have been fine for most users, they get a very high rating, but I wouldn't buy these again. | 10% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
