Could not be any simpler; purchase this software, receive the link via email from Amazon, click on it and sign into your McAfee account, assuming you have been using MacAfee, if not you will need to create an account eventually. The MacAfee site handles the entire process trouble free. I did not have to uninstall anything, I merely clicked on the link Amazon provided, signed into my account and sat and watched for a while, agreeing with the lawyers as needed so that it would install. As to how well it works, it was fine before and it is fine now. I get the occasional warning about a site, and generally follow their suggestions. It scans my PC once a week and checks all incoming emails, while maintaining security on our other network devices. It even installed on my wife's Samsung tablet in the same general way. What's not to like about this product, and this is the best one yet, it protects every internet connected device we own.

This is surprising. I purchased a Lenovo which came with McAfee on it which was good for 30 days. I decided to purchase the software on Amazon because it was $10 less than from McAfee. I could not see where to enter the activation code. I called McAfee and they took remote control of my computer and removed the previously installed software and reinstalled the new version which I bought along with my product key. This process did take about 10-15 minutes. The product which is running appears invisible which is a good thing. There was zero wait time. I suppose someone could say that you should not have to call but there is a bunch of stuff on the web about either of the two anti virus programs being more complicated to remove than the average program. There was a little geek stuff involved and so I am glad I looked it up first and knew that I was going to have to call. I was thinking that I will give myself 5 stars as well. I normally go crazy first. Not so in this case and so they get their 5 star rating.

This is a fine product and carries the highest rating among it peers as an antivirus. It appears to work fine with new Windows 10 on my unit at home. Previous review of this item was very poor, but the code I got worked fine in the USA, and I have loaded it on laptop. I contacted McAfee by chat, told them what I wanted to do, they asked for my product code, and they sent me a link to install the McAfee Total Protection Unlimited Device software on all my units. It went smooth as silk. I highly recommend this product.

Bought this to extend previous software subscription. Installation was easy; works as intended. Can't beat this price!

Been using this product for many years. I always buy the previous year's version - saves a lot of money and the product updates automatically. I love the home network features and love the fact that this product is totally install and forget it - it does all the work in the background. New in this version is the file vault which protects file access. Glad to have the web advisor as well protecting unnecessary extra content from good websites. This product is a winner - I will always use it. The only con I can think of is the install takes awhile - and it removes the prior year's product completely and then does a fresh install rather than just an upgrade. Must be a reason though.

2nd year buying this. I used to use Norton, which I hated. Didn't do any good. I switched to McAfee last year. I was very happy and I decided that I would keep McAfee. I found out that it's much cheaper to buy the new one than try to extend the one that I have. If I had extended, I would have paid $60 more for it!

Fantastic program. Had slight problem installing it on one of my computers.Went on chat and it was taken care of in no time.Their help technicians are the best. Several years ago, I stopped using anti-virus programs after the trend of nagging to upgrade became standard practice---behaving like pop-up viruses themselves, However, after having been hit with a Trojan recently, I started shopping for an anti-virus program to get rid of it. I have a dual boot system consisting of Windows 7 and Fedora Linux and hence was still able to use the PC with little concern (Win 7 was hit; Linux was not).The Trojan that infected my Win 7 installation appears to be a variant of fileless viruses as described in these insightful articles published on the Malwarebytes website titled 'Fileless Infections from Exploit Kit: An Overview' by Jérôme Segura (https://blog.malwarebytes.org/exploits-2/2014/09/fileless-infections-from-exploit-kit-an-overview/); and 'No More Poweliks!' by Adam Kujawa (https://blog.malwarebytes.org/security-threat/2014/11/no-more-poweliks/).I won't go into the articles except to say that reading them was an eye-opener into the sophistication that is going into virus design (if that's even appropriate to phrase like that).Beyond the sophistication is the response time between anti-virus providers coming up with a solution and the virus designers coming up with a variant to get around newly deployed solutions. These days, that gap is as good as gone necessitating the upgrades that at one time was fairly safe to defer (certainly not indefinitely, but over a good stretch of time).For the issue that prompted my shopping, I ended up installing Malwarebytes Premium solution and Mcafee Total Protection 2015; installing them in that order but running a lot of other detection and clean-up tools in-between to finally achieve nirvana. Malwarebytes is a must-product, but don't expect one product to do it all. Mcafee Total Protection 2015 zeroed-in and quarantined the offending programs within 15 minutes of installation despite the fact that the fileless malware were creating and launching them on the fly.

We have used McAfee for many years. My husband is not very technical and McAfee meets our needs to have an anti-virus without a lot of annoying pop-ups for access to the internet. There are pop-ups when something tries to install on your pc and you should review for appropriateness before selecting OK. I noticed some people had difficulty installing the software with the retail card so I saved all my steps to assist others:1. Remove the previous version of McAfeea. Select Control Panel from the Start buttonb. Select Programs and Featuresc. Highlight McAfee productd. Select Uninstalle. If you have other McAfee products you’ll have the option to uninstall at the same time, e.g., McAfee Site Advisorf. Restart your pc2. I have used McAfee for many years and based on my experience the previous version does not always uninstall correctly. I always use the free McAfee MCPR program after uninstalling through the Programs and Features to remove any vestiges of the previous version of McAfee before installing the new version. I have used Total Protection for a few years now. The product itself is pretty good. Nothing on the market is going to stop everything, but Total Prot. does a decent job stopping most things and doesn't hog resources as much as some other "total" solutions. I still use a few other security programs as well, but this is a solid starting point. Now it *will* update or scan (which does use a lot of resources) at the worst times. You can tweak the scheduler to help with that problem.The bad: Installing can be an absolute nightmare. If you are updating and have money but not much time... just pay the $90 under "my account".If you are like me and have a few hours you can put aside to save the $ then roll the dice. Worst case scenario is you spend a lot of time trying to install and then have to get customer service to do a remote desktop install (they control your mouse/keyboard and install for you).So if you are not tech savvy... give up quickly (if the install doesn't work) and let customer service do it.

Boy, this wasn't easy. Amazon was fine but McAfee doesn't make it easy at all. It took me an hour to get to the right spot to load the code. This thing is apparently a RETAIL CARD. So that will help you along. Amazon tells you to go to activate at McAfee, that didn't work for me. Look for McAfee then something with: Secure - Redeem Card - ECards. You want McAfee, not associated sites, so watch out. See the picture I have posted of the McAfee site where you load the code. After that it was smooth sailing. It took about 20 minutes to get everything running. I just had to push the next button.I waited until after Christmas to buy McAfee. It was $29 a few weeks ago on Amazon, I got it for $19.99. The same thing is $49 on McAfee's site. Yikes!After the horrors of Norton I am pretty happy with McAfee.

McAfee Total Protection provides good protection for consumer level systems and Amazon is a great place to buy it for a fair price. Do Not expect high quality support. When I worked on Base McAfee Engineers would work directly with the Cyber Security team I was on, but I had a lot of trouble getting consumer support for my personal system at home.There is a significant problem with this product registration process. I already have a subscription to this EXACT product which expires in 14 days. I immediately registered this product and McAfee started my 365 day count immediately instead of on the day of expiration. Basically I lost 14 days of paid subscription. It is not a big deal, but it seems like a petty rip off by McAfee. Also, they FORCE you to install remote access software to get customer support. I have years of experience analyzing vulnerabilities and performing penetration tests for Government and businesses. ALL remote access software introduces a security risk. Either don't install it at all or assume your system is vulnerable from the moment you install the remote access.You can help yourself by becoming more educated about Internet Security. The truth is there are a lot of risks out there and new daily dangers. Antivirus helps a lot, but education and Internet settings are also needed. McAfee is the industries leading Antivirus software. I have used it for years and it has multiple virus and malware from taking over my computer. My kids play Minecraft and are downloading God know what to get new skins or maps. This was $25 cheaper on Amazon then from McAfee website. The only things I didn't like is that I had to uninstall the 2015 version on all my devices and install the 2016 version. A 20 minute process for each devices. Couldn't understand why it didn't just let me enter the new key. I hope they fix that for next year. You should never use a device to connect to the Internet without an antivirus software. Don't become a BOT.

Had installation issues but within 15 minutes, McAfee Chat Techs had me all set up. Very pleased with their prompt service but can't give it 5 stars because of the problematic install.

Been using it for years. If you don't mind waiting a week to get it in the mail, it's worth $10 savings compared to the instant download version. Even though it's an old 2015 version it upgrades to the latest when activated.

The McAfee AV is a decent product and comes with some useful utilities included, Junk file cleaner, software updater.I was happy that INTEL, the Chip maker, had bought the company some years back but I read somewhere that they might be rethinking their purchase.Still a good buy.

Came fast and as descibed... will update once installed as my current has a week or so left on it.

So far so good. I logged into my McAfee account online, added the code & proceeded to download the software. Had difficulty installing it on my desktop, only because a virus kept it from installing it. Reimaged my drive after backing up my personal files on a separate hard drive, then I was able to easily install it. I completed a full scan and found only 2 not too dangerous files, which it quarantined. Overall, I've been pleased with McAfee. Have not gotten any bad viruses on any of my (or kids') computers over the past decade using McAfee. Although I'm reminded of the story of the little old lady who saw the guy on the bus tearing up paper and throwing it out the window, so she asked "what are you doing", to which he replied "scaring away the pink elephants", and the lady said "I don't see any pink elephants", at which the guy replied "see, it's working"!

This is my second year using McAfee Total Security on my Windows 8 laptop. I first used Norton, because it came with my laptop and I liked it, but after I purchased the product when the trial ended my computer started crashing and it would not finish a scan. Someone purchased the McAfee Total Protection 2014 and offered to let me try it since they could have up to 3 PCs. It found 4 viruses that Norton missed and cleaned up my computer to where it was like a faster newer laptop. What I love is that it finishes a full scan while I am busy working/browsing the internet and it doesn't slow me down at all... but that is just my experience, you will probably have a different one because computers, tablets, mobile devices are finicky. What works for one will not work for all.The only thing I wish that this had is a Password Manager, but I'm so glad that I waited for the price to drop. I would NEVER pay full retail price for an Anti-Virus. For less than $10 per computer I have full protection for a year and what's better I don't have to do the work myself McAfee does it for me!Love it or hate it, I'm keeping it. Norton can ... die.

Does what it's suppose to and really does protect me from malicious threats but tends to cause my system to hang at times. I find this odd since it started to happen right after I installed this software. My machine is more than capable of running this software so I don't see the reason why it would freeze my machine.Specifications:- Intel Core i7-6700HQ'- 8GB DDR4 RAM- 960GB SSD- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5 (Obviously not used by security software)

I had an awful experience with customer support to get this to install on my computer. All I can say is it seemed shady. The call was definitely outsourced to India, it seemed as if the girl on the phone wasn't sure what to do. There were several times the call was obviously muted. When she started asking me how many children resided in my home, and my date of birth, I hung up. I reset my computer to a restore date & then the program downloaded just fine.

What a pain! This says for unlimited devices. Installed it on a desktop with no trouble. Then installed it on a laptop with a little trouble. Tried installing it on a third laptop and it is driving me crazy. It said to put in the original serial number which I did - it said that serial number had already been used. It gave me a serial number to use - put it in - says it is no good. Tells me to go back and put in the original serial number. Did this. Was told the serial number has already been used. I am going around in circles with this and getting nowhere. Why in the world do they make these things so difficult? Called McAfee. Talked to a guy I had trouble understanding. Finally told him I would try to get the answer on the Internet.After I cool down I will give the Internet a try.

DIY installation proved impossible due to previous McAfee license and inability to entirely delete the previous copy of the product without technical support from McAfee. I used their McAfee Virtual Techinition (MVT.EXE) to no avail. I used the "Chat" Tech Support (complimentary). The techincal support person eventually used MVT.EXE after I gave him/her remote access to my PC, where the tech installed and ran the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool (MCPRT.EXE), twice to ensure that any trace of a McAfee product (files, registries, etc.) were deleted, since standard Windows Add/Remove did not do the trick, as well as cleaning the registry with CCleaner. Once TechSupport removed any Trace of previous installs, they ran MVT.EXE and the error count had dropped from 494 errors (when I ran it) to 0. McAfee Tech Support then performed the entire installation of the product, which works perfectly as expected.

Ok, 3 stars because of the mac problems. This product works well on android and pc devices. Works some what on mac. Had to turn off most of the settings to be able to surf the net. The smart serch is a joke on the mac. It would cause all types of issues on sites with videos like youtube. 30 to 40 second delays before it would play and completely bog down the mac using 100% of cpu. It will also cause the mac to run very hot and again using 100% of thr cup resources.Using this on the android and windows based devices appears to work well. Only complaint is when I type a search query in the address bar on chrome or IE, it take me to a yahoo search engine. Do not like yahoo.

It seems to be a very thorough product and so far has protected my PC to its highest level. The only disadvantage I can find is the length of time it takes to update and add new updates. During that stage, it takes almost complete control of my PC and hinders my access to it. Maybe all anti-virus applications do this but it is an irritant. Other than that the product is working very well.

Would not load after several attempts. Called tech support. Had to allow them to take over computer to install program. Changes were made that I preferred not to change but had no choice. Program was loaded & ran as expected. McAfee needs to improve product to be more consumer friendly. Waste of time & frustration. Small improvements not worth the hype. Another chance for McAfee to make a great product but choked. Product definitely not worth the full retail asking price.One good thing. Tech support did not take any longer than 10 minutes to address my problem. However, took tech support almost 30 minutes to resolve issues & load software.Have been loyal to McAfee for several years, this may be the year I can no longer recommend or stay with any renewal of product without some sort of conformation that deficiencies have been eliminated. I need to return this as I purchased the all inclusive All-Access with one year of phone support. McAfee Total Protection 2015 seems to provide basic protection. However, It may miss an offender. Running another spyware program after a McAfee scan finds nasty infections from time to time. I cannot discern the difference between a good cookie and a bad cookie; therefore, I want all spyware eliminated, including those used for marketing purposes. Eliminate all LSO flash and normal cookies; leave no cookie behind.

Having issues with the program slowing Mozilla Thunderbird (my mail client) to a crawl on opening. Thunderbird works fine as long as I disable McAfee completely or start it in Thunderbird's "safe mode," which also blocks all McAfee items from running with Thunderbird, but as soon as I try to open normally, it takes 45-60 seconds for the program to open. Spent about an hour on the phone today with their tech support with no success. Their second tier support is suppose to call tomorrow and perhaps they can resolve the issue, but I will have to see.

Like always, you give up performance for protection. I couldn't run any of my games without constant lag, and it always insisted on updating and interrupting me at the worst possible times. Hated it.

Feel deceived in renewing this product. From the installed version, it wants to renew me at twice the price I can get it from here. And they seem to try really hard to block you from using the code you get here to authorize a version I already have installed. Needed to uninstall and then reinstall. I'd prefer honesty and transparency from a company that is in business to protect me.

This software would not install the most important security elements. I tried three times, and it failed every time. I can't recommend this as a download to anyone.

Can't scan multiple stuffs at the same time. As I sometimes like to scan two external HDD at the same time as my CPU is fast enough but this software won't let me. The scan speed is slow while using a lot of CPU. You can't set up multiple scheduled scans either, the only scheduled scans you can set is Full scan not quick scan or custom one.

Okay product. Unfortunately within the first week of use I got a trojan virus and had to reboot my computer to a few days prior. In trying to get a headstart on a book for class I downloaded a copy. I scanned the download twice with McAfee to check for viruses and was told the download was clean. This turned into a trojan virus in which McAfee could then not get rid of. I began wondering why I even bought the total protection when it1. could not detect a virus2. could not rid my computer of the virus.I sent a complaint to McAfee (told they would reply within 24 hours) and have not heard back; this was almost two weeks ago.I am still using it due to having purchased the product already but am not impressed

Not such a bad product for a PC, although it is hard to stop a scan in progress. Beyond that, pulled off of five smartphones in the house, ranging from the same day of installation to about three weeks - BATTERY KILLER!!! All three of my girls can walk into school with a full charge, and their phones are dead by the end of school - and yes, these are much newer phones/batteries. Probably just churns through the power looking to scan signals without end. Mine? Bought phone brand new in September. No problems, just thought I was adding security, so I bought and installed the software in November. Drained within hours from 100% to 0%, daily for about a week and a half until I decided to call it quits. It was leaving me out and about without. Stripped the program off - back to normal - full charge in early morning, runs until late evening.

I don't know why, but my computer got crazy after I edit some features on the antivirus. It seems it wants to control my laptop.

I am having hard time loading it to my PC. It read that one of three wass downloaded when it didn't happen. I called McAffee for help. The person whom I contacted spent almost 45 minutes guiding me but I had to interrupt to go to work. I still am not able to use it. I did not even claim my rebate for the defective order.

You'd think a company as large as McAfee would know they not only have to sell a product, they have to support it. McAfee apparently has not learned this part of the puzzle as I continue to have problems with their software screwing up Outlook 2010. Oh well, there are more and apparently better software solutions out there.

I was happy to make this purchase since Norton upped their package to 5 devices along with the price. That being said, McAfee, come on now. If I have certain components of your software disabled, I shouldn't be seeing them running in my task manager. So yes, only 2 stars for not truly being able to turn things off. In addition to that, on one of my PCs I did a custom installation. Guess what? I keep getting notifications that those components aren't installed and my computer needs to be better protected, bladda bladda bla. I didn't pay for this. I'd have gotten a free one if I wanted frickin ads/reminders like that.

I have used McAfee for years and have been pleased with it. For some reason, this year installation was awful. Of the three computers under the license, the first two (both running Windows 7) required multiple attempts to install before it finally acknowledged that the computer was protected with the current year's purchase. I still cannot install on the third (running Windows 8.1) without issue, and receive an error message stating that an error has occurred in installation and that installation will restart once the issue is resolved.

Feels like I was buying advertisements. Kept getting offers from random stuff while I downloaded it.

I called the Toll free number for McAfee for clarification on their instructions for downloading the True Key function. I kept getting a message saying I need to be in Windows 8 Classic View in order to proceed, but I have Windows 10. Before i was given the chance to explain the reason for my call the person on the phone asked for my email address, telephone number, full name ( none of which she got) AND "needed" remote access to my computer to address the "technical issue". I said there was no technical issue yet because I was unable to even get to True Key because THEIR instructions were poor and didn't apply. I feel sorry for unsuspecting people who give them full remote access. I explained I didn't have a technical issue but she asked me to "hold" why she conferred with someone, who continued to insist they needed full remote access to proceed.

I tried several ways to install this antivirus and even was on the chat with their support team which accessed my computer remotely and erased a bunch of files off my computer to end up according to their tech, needing to send my laptop for repair to be able to install McAfee, sounded like a total scam since they were referring me to a repair facility online they can refer me to on their side "as lot more affordable". My laptop is fairly new though, and only used for work purposes so I don't download anything from anywhere, basically it's clean! I am very unhappy with this service. NOTE: I had Norton in the past purchased through amazon as well and NEVER had any issues with that service and purchased McAfee trying to save some money, I Contacted their service again just to get told the activation key is incorrect and I cannot download anything. Buying McAfee WAS THE WORST DECISION! Piece of garbage! Don't waste your money!

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! I bought this thinking I could save $5 from the mcafee website price, however when trying to activate the code mcafee says "Sorry, your activation code isn’t right. Try entering it again. If you’re still having trouble, visit the store where you bought your McAfee product and ask them to scan the card again." I have copy and pasted the code, typed it four different times, checked letter by letter to make sure it is right and mcafee is still not accepting it. I also got an error message stating the code was not valid in the country and language I entered, Which is the United states English. I am beyond mad that I wasted my money on a product that I can't even use.

Don't order an update from Amazon online. Amazon tells you to contact McAfee online for your update. I've been unable to contact the McAfee site using Windows 8.1. However using Windows XP on another computer I did get the McAfee web site. When I inserted the requested data and tried to submit it, McAfee said Oops and displayed Error P5eR and stated System Preventing Process. End of action. McAfee site lists a help phone number for the USA & Canada. I've called it for two days now and get an automated answering menu-no direct technician contact. I've paid Amazon for the update, but after 5 days I am still without an updated security program, and apparently no human to answer either Amazon or McAfee sites for assistance.

At first I was unable to activate my product following the instructions given. Received message from McAfee product code was invalid. You’ve entered a product key that does not correspond to the country and language you selected. Please check your country and language, and then try again. Selected United States - English. Had to search for the right site to download the software and https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-6389, then I selected the product I purchased and installed. Should have been given the correct link in the instructions I received from Amazon.

If I could give this a zero I would. I spent hours on the phone this will not load on Windows 10 works for windows 8 after phone help Windows 7 loaded easily. Save your money and time I work with computers all day this is a product issue.

This product messed up my computer. I had Mcafee previously and it never had any problems but when I reinstalled it using this key code and directions provided, my computer started acting weird 30 minutes later. My computer could not load anything! I had full Wifi connection and it couldn't even connect to the website I was trying to visit. It also could not even open the Mcafee security center. When I tried to uninstall it, it froze my whole computer. I had to completely reset my laptop to the factory settings just to get it back up and running. Total waste of money.

This system claims it works "quietly in the background" to protect my computer. Hogwash! It constantly demands my attention with messages that I am not covered here or there. I've tried to work with McAfee technicians, to no avail. One message pops up several times a day, and I can't get it to stop bugging me. I've repeatedly clicked the option of "update automatically", also to no avail. I am completely fed up with this program and am going back to AVG, which I have had for many years. The only problem with AVG is that they want an arm and a leg for a subscription! I will NEVER buy McAfee again!

I was under the mistaken impression that the product being sold was valid for 12 months from the time of purchase, receipt, and installation. WRONG!!! Once I got on-line to install the product it announced that it was only valid for approximately THREE months, not even to the end of this calendar year. If I could give this product a zero rating I would because the marketing is dishonest.

Had to go through a long complicated process to load this card, and I already had McAfee on my computer. Had to go through a tech from McAfee to load the program and he kept wanting to sell me a tech support plan. Eventually, because he could not load it on one of my computers I had to pay $49.99 to have a tech "fix" my computer so it would take a program that was already on it. I would not suggest anyone buying these cards, unless they want a run around.

If you have an love XP, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!. The application would not install, after 3 attempts I called McAfee's phone help and the first tech ask if he could take over my computer by remote control. I thought I was dealing with a professional and allowed this to happen. After his efforts & several re-boots my computer would no longer boot up, I couldn't even get it to start in the "safe mode" it was so screwed up, no applications would open of even attempt to do so. After more than an hour, he ask if he could email me a patch to another computer that I could capture on a thumb drive and load it to my non-functioning computer and that would fix the problem. I ask if he had been listening to me as I made it quite clear that my computer is no longer functional, how would I install this fix on a virtually dead computer?? We went around that tree several times and I finally realized that this so called tech was incompetent and hung up him. Called again hoping to get a more competent person and talk to. Tech #2 could not help & switched me to a higher level of help. No help there either and was transferred to McAfee's highest lever of tech help which ended in me being told I will need to take my computer to a repair shop - sorry. My now perfectly functioning computer sets useless and it's so badly messed up that I can't even re-install my Windows XP operating system.

This was one of the most frustrating installation experiences I have ever encountered. The web address on the card redirected me to the wrong download site, I had to download a program to speak with customer service and find the correct download site, the program didn't work once I downloaded it, and I had to . This is a complete scam; don't fall for it.
