Five Star Reviews: | 76% It's lives up to it's name and makes cooking and baking so much simpler and fun. I have extremely small counter in the shape ... April 19, 2017 Just WOW!!! Just loving this. It's lives up to it's name and makes cooking and baking so much simpler and fun. I have extremely small counter in the shape of a small L and this makes it simple to roll the dough. As well as the dough comes out more uniform. Simple to clean/with a good weight to it. Stick it in the freezer and it's aids in keeping the dough from sticking. This is a must in every kitchen! As basic as it gets (in a good way) November 18, 2016 Just a simple sealed flat rolling pin. No seams. Easy to clean and almost 16" wide. The tile next to the pin in my photo is 12" long for reference. Great product February 28, 2016 Bought this to help me be the baker I used to be. Severe arthritis has curtailed my baking endeavors. I wanted to make my traditional Rugelah for a family event. I had not made this for a very long time. My family would not ask me to make this as it involved rolling out refrigerated dough paper thin. This rolling pin helped tremendously. My family was pleasantly surprised. I also appreciate the non-stick quality and the cleanliness of it being stainless steel. Love it! January 1, 2016 I love this rolling pin! Every year I make hundreds of sugar cookies to give away as Christmas gifts and normally use my mom's old wooden rolling pin which my dough always sticks to and it makes the process even more frustrating. Now that I'm building my own kitchen collection I wanted a non-stick rolling pin that would last me for years to come and I am pretty sure this is going to do just that. For now, I will say that it survived a two day cookie making binge way better than I did. The dough pretty much never stuck to it, it was a breeze to clean, and because it was seamless I didn't have to worry about water getting stuck inside. It is long which was helpful with the large batches of dough I was doing. I love that it didn't have any pesky handles (which normally lead to banged up knuckles for me) and it is not tapered or anything so it was easy to get my dough all one thickness. I think it was a great price for what it is and it came very quickly with the prime shipping. Overall, just so grateful for this product. Very simple design but works wonderfully for rolling out delicate dough November 29, 2015 Very simple design but works wonderfully for rolling out delicate dough. I love that you can put this rolling pin in the freezer to keep it cold while rolling out pie crusts. No worries about warming the dough up and melting the butter that was flaked into the dough. ends of rolling pin are nicely sealed so it will not allow water in the pin when washed. Also less of a problem having dough stick to the pin as it is non porous. This is an item I would buy again. Love, love, love this rolling pin! August 12, 2015 Better quality than I expected for the price. So far so good, no problem at all. Very easy to clean. No more wooden rolling pin that eventually gets mildewed for me. I wish this also comes in shorter and smaller diameter to be used for rolling out smaller pieces of dough. For now, this works and I love it. | 43% Add sticky foam = great printing rollers for crafts July 18, 2017 This was a great price, and I used the rollers for printing texture: cut out shapes in sticky foam and attached them to the rolling pins. The result were great rollers at a fraction of the cost of art rollers. Bought them to bake cookies with my nephew. Turns ... February 10, 2017 Bought them to bake cookies with my nephew. Turns out my nephew would rather throw cookies at me. They're cute, they're what'sExpected. They worked great! The girls did not use the handles to ... November 12, 2015 I used these for my 7 year old daughter's cooking party. They worked great! The girls did not use the handles to roll the pin however. They put their hands right on top of the rolling pin. I was afraid the handles would break. |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% Four Stars August 30, 2017 The rolling pin works well and I like that it isn't contoured like some others. Fits in my drawer! March 17, 2017 Works as advertised, fits in my drawer (yay!), goes in the dishwasher and looks professional (if you care about that). It's could be a little more tapered, but I am satisfied with it and got rid of my wooden one. Nice, Lightweight Rolling Pin February 17, 2017 The rolling pin is hollow inside like a tube rather than being a solid rod of metal. I didn't know this and expected it to be significantly heavier than it actually is, but my wife actually likes its light weight. The rolling pin is also a bit longer than her other rolling pin, but she also likes that about it. She has used this rolling pin several times with no complaints. Its a metal rod December 28, 2016 You can beat peoples ass with this. Works well, Suggest having a nice sturdy table to work on, not those s***ty walmart wobble planes. No imperfections. Overall good, lacks heft November 18, 2015 Stainless Steel is the best kitchen material, it is zero maintenance and dishwasher safe. However my favorite part of this product is the fact that it doesn't have handles. I know that there is a debate about handles on rolling pins because most people don't even use them (I certainly don't). However, that isn't my problem with handles. My issues is that axle between the two handles creates an un-cleanable internal surface which is perpetually damp since it can't dry properly. This design avoids that entirely. My only real problem with the rolling pin is that the metal feels very thin. I think this is OK given the price, but I was expecting something with a bit more heft. This feels a bit like it would dent if dropped on the counter. Also the thinness of the material means that if you refrigerate or freeze it before rolling, it does not hold the temperature very long. | 19% They are a little bit small but the kids had a lot of fun with them March 1, 2017 Decent quality for the price. They are a little bit small but the kids had a lot of fun with them. OK for the price December 19, 2016 one red handle was off when package arrived; can be glued back on; hope others don't come off; for the price, these are OK; grandkids will use them to roll Play Doh, so they don't really need to be fantastic Works great for little hands. June 3, 2016 Had a Play-Doh party for a 3-year-old. The rollers went over well. They are well-built, and roll smoothly enough to flatten the Play-Doh. The drawback to these pins is that they are almost too small, even for little hands. Some of the older kids at the party had a difficult time playing with them. Rolling pins for my granddaughter! June 26, 2015 I had trouble finding children's rolling pins for my 4 y/o granddaughter. She loves learning how to bake and it's a great bonding time. To find multiple rolling pins was a real bonus. Using them as a party tool is a good ideas, too. Worked great in our sensory tables at church with play doh April 29, 2015 Worked great in our sensory tables at church with play doh. They are quite small so pay attention to the sizing to ensure they are what you want. Some of our handles fell off with the first use, but I used a glue gun to fix them. these are good quality, does roll nicely it's small but I ... March 27, 2015 these are good quality, does roll nicely it's small but I expected it to be.Annoying stickers that won't come off on each pins. Why is the "made in china" stickers always sticks on there like they use crazy glue.. stop with the stickers already.. we know everything is made in China!!! |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% Works fine, looks good, lighter weight than I wanted April 7, 2017 It looks great, works fine, but I was hoping it would be a little heavier. I feel like a rolling pin needs to have some heft, so was a little disappointed this didn't have it.However, if you want a lightweight metal rolling pin, this is a good option for you. Hollow and light, not so great. January 28, 2017 I always thought a rolling pin would have some weight to it. This is a hollow tube and it is lighter than an old fashioned wooden rolling pin. I dont think this is a good rolling pin. I will use it as my second. ... of this rolling pin for the price overall is pretty good. However December 4, 2016 The quality of this rolling pin for the price overall is pretty good. However, I really wish it had a little more weight to it. It is very light and takes a little elbow grease, but it gets the job done. At first sight this rolling pin comes across as very ... August 28, 2016 At first sight this rolling pin comes across as very elegant but it's a little hard to use it. It's not a non-stick surface either just because its SS. It's not very heavy either so I have to use a lot of effort to get what I want out of it. disappointingly light duty March 18, 2016 very thin & light weight. you can bend it by pressing it between you finger & thumb | 15% Toy, no functionality whatsoever. August 16, 2017 These are so much smaller than I thought. They are very skinny and would only work to roll over a piece of dough or clay the size of a golf ball. Anything bigger, like tennis ball size, would not work. The handles are so small, my 5 year olds can't even fully wrap their hands around. They were holding them with their fingertips. Great for light use May 24, 2017 The handles are connected to a very small wooden dowel that passes through the outer tube. One handle broke the first day of class. These worked ok for light use during a 6-week class, but will not last with heavy use. Toys March 31, 2017 Remember that these are super tiny and more for just looks and not for practical cookie/pizza dough rolling. Fun for the kids though. cute, but tiny January 12, 2014 I bought these for a pizza party for my 9 year old. When I got them, I had to laugh because they were so small. They worked well enough for a one time use. They didn't seem very sturdy and I was worried that the kids would break them (they didn't). However, they were very cute and the price was good. I would say these are more for decoration or pretend play for toddlers, not for actual dough rolling. The rolling pin is actually about 4 inches long and the handles are 2 inches per side. It is held together by a thin 0.25 inch dowel. It might be ok for 3-5 year olds, but definitely too small for 8-9 year olds. Doesn't hold up well. March 25, 2012 I bought these for my 6-year-old's birthday for the kids to roll out pizza dough. Two of them busted right out of the gate. The wooden pin that holds them together is not very strong. They are really cute and fun, but they need to be made better. Kudos to the company because I emailed them and they immediately sent me replacements. Not the best quality, but they do the job if you are having a party. Probably wouldn't hold up to PlayDo though. I still have one that is similar to this from when I was a kid and mine is still going strong. But unlike this one, it was made with a metal rod through the rolling part. This one is flimsy wood. Not super good for playdough September 7, 2011 I liked this initially because I thought it was a good bargain for my toddlers to use with their playdough. When they arrived, I was pleased with them. They look good and feel reasonably well made for the price, etc. However, after a week of owning them, I realized that the wood is not finished and has a bit of a rough feel. One would think - who cares? I can live with that, BUT, what this means is that the playdough doesn't really come right off. It sort of sticks, and even at the end of play when you try to take the playdough off, it is hard to get it all off. Which then means you have a little bit of old, hard playdough on the rolling pin for the next time - which means that eventually, after the 2nd - 4th time of use, the rolling pins are crusty and it gets hard to roll the playdough flat. I suppose I will probably get around this by washing them in warm water from time to time, but for me that is more high-maintenance than I would like. All the other rolling pins we have (Melissa & Doug, etc) are finished and we don't have this problem.Good luck to you in your kids rolling pin search! |
Two Star Reviews: | 2% Too light, too slippery November 22, 2016 Bought this because it had good reviews and I thought it would be easy to clean. However, the combination of being too light and too slippery makes it unusable. Tried rolling tortillas with this thing with my palms and it kept slipping off. You need to use a lot of force to make it flatten anything if you don't want it to slip out from under your hands and after a short time it becomes painful. Extremely frustrating to use, would not recommend. Leaves graying on pastry dough from the SS finish. September 10, 2016 When making a pastry with butter/duck fat, this SS rolling pin has left graying from the Stainless steel finish. Yuck yuck yuck. I've rewashed it, but now I'm probably going to throw it out. I waited over 30 days to try it, and now I can't return this. The quality of the pin is good with no dents December 31, 2015 I was looking for a stainless steel rolling pin that I could wash and sanitize each time for my cookie business. The quality of the pin is good with no dents, dings, or rough edges and sealed well but it is very light weight and very slick. I found it nearly impossible to roll sugar cookie dough between two sheets of parchment. It slips on the parchment paper and could not get a grip on the pin to roll the cookie dough. I will keep and experiment more and hope I can find a solution because I really would like to have a water-submersible rolling pin. Nice quality but came with a dent in the center September 24, 2015 Premium rolling pin, although mine had a dent in the center when pulled out of box. | 11% Not very well made. Some handles came out and ... August 10, 2017 Not very well made. Some handles came out and I would be embarrassed to give as part of a favor. Needless to say, this item was returned. NOT A GOOD PRODUCT February 25, 2017 These are smaller than expected, they squeak and get caught on themselves, they don't work very well and don't clean well. Two Stars January 23, 2017 They arrived on time, looked cute, but the playdough stuck to each one of the rollers. Cheap and cheap May 4, 2016 These are inexpensive and as such look and feel cheap. The picture shows a center dowel rod giving the impression that the rolling pin works like a normal rolling pin and will roll as you push on the handles. These are not, they are two handles glued to a dowel so the middle portion does not spin independently of the handles. It makes it difficult for little ones to use these effectively. IN addition they are rough and so playdough gets stuck easily. Too Small... May 3, 2016 Too small to use. They really are just for props. I thought we would be able to use these to roll out pizza dough for a party and they were just too small. |
One Star Reviews: | 1% Cheap product for a cheap price August 3, 2017 Spend the extra $$ for something more durable and solid. Easily dents .... very cheap. Peeling Not Safe To Use November 14, 2016 This Rolling Pin Is To Light and Hard To Roll Out Dough and Is Peeling and Discolored It is A Wasted Of Money Like They Say You Get What You Pay For Through It Away Not Safe To Use | 12% A piece of junk December 20, 2016 Those rollers are very small and very badly manufactured. They actually do not roll. Some of the inside poles are mounted badly, so the roll cannot turn around it. Some are not smooth. Cannot return because I used them for a project at my daughter's school, but would definitively not recommend them It's good for play dough for 2 years old September 2, 2016 It's so tiny.really disapointed. It's good for play dough for 2 years old. Disappointed November 28, 2015 Definitely can not be used as rolling pins by kids. Much too small. Disappointed Cheep July 29, 2012 I bought them for using on Playdough. They are kinda flimsy and the rollers are not very big so it is hard to get a grip on the handles to roll the Playdough. If using for kids baking or Playdough I would not recommend buying them. |
