Such a great product. My family has a pitbull/whippet mix, and she has such powerful jaws, she can dig gouges into her Kong after a single use. I buy her a new Nylabone dura chew every time the old one starts to get to about the half-way mark, which is generally about a year apart around Christmas time. She only chews on the one end, but she loves it, and it's a great de-stressor for her and a way for her to take care of her teeth.

She didn't like the peanut butter flavored Nylabone anywhere near as much; just the original flavor.

We have two dogs that LOVE to chew! On a normal day, they'll spend at least an hour relaxing on the floor with their chew of choice. After months and months of trial and error, we've figured out that there is nothing out there that they prefer over the entire catalog of Nylabone products. Good hard chew. Long lasting. Leave very little residue behind. We keep a stockpile around the house. Can only imagine how many flip-flops have been saved by this product!

Dog loves this thing. I have a 40 pound Plott hound mutt that is a really aggressive chewer. She's been working on this bone for a few weeks now and she's maybe only a few millimeters in on a one side. She can chew through those raw hide bones in a couple days so we were looking for something a bit more durable. Plus, we heard those raw hide bones are usually packed with chemicals from the preserving and bleaching process and not good for dogs.

one of the only chew toys my dog won't destroy and eat in less than a day. We have an American Staffordshire terrier, and this is a favorite toy, plus keeps her teeth nice and clean. We never leave her in the crate without it.

My dogs LOVE this bone. It has held up well to two 80lb labs that can chew most chew toys up in seconds. Our top chew toy around here is elk antlers but they are expensive so we were looking into an alternative that was just as hardy. This nylabone does not disappoint. It has been chewed on most days for hours at a time and still shows little wear and tear. We have several nylabones and this one is a favorite. Not sure if it is the flavor or the nubby ridges that make it so popular but the dogs love them. We do supervise our dogs when they have these bones or any other chew toy for that matter to make sure they aren't ingesting larger pieces then intended or that to make sure the toy/chew is still in good shape. So far this a winner in our house and a good durable and cheaper alternative to the elk antlers we have been using.

Best dog toy I have ever purchased. This has outlasted everything else, and my dog absolutely loves it! It is fun to chew on, doesn't fall apart, can be rolled across the floor to chase, and I like that is seems to stay really clean no matter where we are. My Golden Retriever is good at destroying toys, but this one has stood up to his teeth. It probably would break down with heavy chewers, but overall I would say this is super high quality and a fun toy.

I have tried other bones. The lenght of time these bones have lasted is much longer than any other I have tried. I would recommend anyone to purchase this bone. I just recieved my 4th one of these. Diego is five years old now and only uses these. Most toys brought in my house last a matter of a day or two, three at most. The material this bone is made of is soft enough to grip, but not rough enough to be uncomfortable for my chihuahua. The vet also said his teeth are clean by comparison to his age. I believe the little knobs help keep his teeth cleaner than they would be otherwise. He also loves his bone (bonie) so much he picks it up as soon as I walk in the door from work looking to play. He has to know where it is at all times. He doesn't let my beagles touch it either!They company is also very fast shipping. They recently sent me one the wrong size. Much to big. They resolved the issue immediately. I kept the bone and my beagles. They love them too. I wished I had ordered these for them along time ago. And believed me they are a tough lot to get a toy to last.

These are the best dog toys - ever! One of our dogs chews through every toy we have ever bought her. Tuff toys, hardy, stuffed soft toys, nylon toys, Kong toys (yes, even Kongs!) A friend recommended these so I ordered one from Amazon. I really didn't think it would survive, but I was willing to give them a try. 6 months later - they are still here, intact, and my LuLu still plays with them. I have since ordered 3 more for my pets, and can't quit telling everyone about them.. Really great toys.

great dog toy. I've had it for almost a year now and it's still in tact and my dog still plays with it. she's chewed up any other toy I got her. this thing will last! also if you want to clean it after a while just through it in the dishwasher and it's brand new.

My boxer mix loves these! They usually last him about a year and he's a very powerful chewer. This toy is his security blanket. He doesn't go very far without it. Another plus is that it keeps his teeth pristine. I can't swear that the toy is the cause but our beagle who doesn't care for chew toys has the most horrible breath and i must get his teeth professionally cleaned every year. Our big who chews on this toy everyday has the most beautiful pearly whites. It could be genetics but my thinking is that chewing on the ridges on this toy keeps his teeth sparkling white and minty fresh.

I bought a Chompion for my golden retriever several years ago and she gradually chewed all the nubs off. She usually destroys toys, but the rest of this toy is still intact and she still has fun playing with it. I just bought her a new one and it feels like it is the same quality as her previous one.

He loves it! Long lasting and durable. Different textures for dogs' multiple experiences. I only rated it 4 stars because I don't like how scratchy the bone becomes after he chews it... it's sharp when he rubs it up against me, scratches my leg; and it snags any fabric it comes into contact with. I use it outdoors and in the car.

My dogs love these chews. And it's typically much less expensive here on Amazon than box stores to by these. My only complaint would be that as the dogs chew these, bits and pieces shed off and get stuck in the carpet. And they can sometimes be pretty rough little chunks. Also, the explicatives that leave your mouth when you step on these at night after they've been chewed up a bit is similar to legos.

I have a 9 year old golden retriever that absolutely just LOVES Nylabones. In fact, she currently has about 5 of them sitting her in toy box at home. These are great for dogs that love to chew. They are durable and keep her entertained for hours - she gets in the 'zone' when she starts chewing and doesn't like to be interrupted. I love that they last so long! She can't have other bones like bully sticks or even bones from an animal as she ends up eating them and gets sick (made that mistake once, and never will I buy another real bone for her again). This is my first time ordering them through amazon. I love the fast shipping, and it came in an unopened package. I'm slightly concerned though as the bone I ordered doesn't seem to be manufactured very well. There is a small part where there is a bit of hard plastic that's opening, and I'm concerned that my dog will ingest it. Every other bone I've purchased from a pet store, and haven't had this issue.

Although I've been buying Nylabones for my dogs for many years, I only recently realized that Amazon carried them for a better price than Petco or PetSmart so I now order all our Nylabones strictly from here. Nylabones help curb destructive chewing, ease boredom, and clean teeth.

Like ANY toy, Nylabones carry a risk if not used properly. There is no such thing a completely, 100% safe toy.
With that said, I've never had a problem with Nylabones, nor do I know anyone who has. It's ALL about being responsible and knowing your dog. (When it all comes down to it, they can be quite child like. They need YOU to use YOUR head.)

Make sure you're buying the appropriate size for your dog. (Don't buy one that's too small, simply because it's cheaper.) If you're using a bone that's too small it will greatly increase the chance of your dog biting off pieces that can be harmful.
If your dog is an aggressive chewer, then don't leave them alone for extended periods with any toy. Nylabones included.

Arrived on time however i was expecting an orange type color it came in green. Really not a big deal but it seems durable, its only been a few days though.

Very heavy toy. Would hurt to throw in your dogs mouth.

My dog is a heavy chewer and loves this. After a week, it's still in one piece! Seems like it's great for massaging their gums and teeth. I only wish you could pick out the color and it not be random. I recieved orange and probably would have prefered any other color.

This toy is good, but larger than I expected. I thought I chose correctly based on the sizes given, but my dog doesn't care - he loves it.

It is great for teething puppies. This toy helped my dog through several loose baby teeth and she wasn't able to rip any pieces off of it. I love the toy and highly recommend it, especially for your puppy! When Athena reached her full grown size of 30lbs, she was able to get the small spikes off and eventually chew through the ends. I wouldn't recommend it for an aggressive adult chewer. *Four Paws Up*

my dog likes it .. but at the same time he's eating the plastic? that can't be good? I don't want my 1 year old shepherd to think that plastic is good to chew on .. I don't think I'll buy anymore of theseupdate: my dog ate my plastic shoe inserts probably because he thinks it's ok thanks to this plastic bone

My German Shepherd that loves to chew was obsessed with this chew. However, she was able to chew some of the plastic off into small, pieces that she could possibly swallow. She also cut her gums on it multiple times, causing bleeding, so I had to take the chew away. Definitely keep an eye on your pup if you give them this chew. Outcome could be different for dogs that are not as aggressive chewers.

My dog was very quickly attracted to the aroma, but after chewing it for a few minutes, she decided that she's not a fan. She is, however, a huge fan of the FleixChews by Nylabone.

My four month old 30 lb goldendoodle puppy, who loves to chew, doesn't care for this or other similar products. He loves bully sticks. He is semi interested in split antlers and Himalayan chews. Maybe works for other dogs.

Yes, it hasn't been destroyed in less than 10 minutes. But once my dogs chewed on it, there were sharp pieces protruding from all over chewed-up sides. I can't remove them.. they're not long enough to cut and I don't really want to go as far to cut them off with a knife (if one can handle it). I've gotten cut from it so I just try to have them keep it away from brushing against my skin. Aside from that, I guess it does the job of being a semi-indestructible chew toy.

No liking of this one from the side of my dog even I would prefer he chews on these instead of real bones. It seems they don't have enough flavor for him, but other dogs might be happy to chew on that Nylabone.

Sturdy toy but dog destroyed it

My dog loves these toys but after getting several of them the quality seems to have gone down. I purchased some a few years ago and they seemed to hold up better than this one. The dumbbells (balls on each end) come apart from the shaft within a few hours of play. We ended up cutting the handle away and letting him play with the nubby balls. He still loves to play with those and they are still in tact.

This toy is quite large. It does look as described, but I didn't like the rubber/plastic-ey smell it had when it arrived. It's thinner than I expected and the whole thing is hollow. My dog liked it a lot the first week, then quickly lost interest. When he gets bigger I could imagine him tearing through the rubber easily. Not my favorite dog toy.

The rubber on this is a little soft and because of that I don't trust my dog to chew it without ripping off the spikes or tearing chunks off.

My pup loved this toy! Unfortunately it was not that sturdy. My dog is a strong chewer and the material was not strong enough to stand up to her gnawing. The bells in either bulbous end were out within the first three days. After that the ends just started to split under the pressure of the constant chewing. However, I kept an eye on the toy and as chunks began to fall away I simply took off the destroyed parts and my dog continued playing with the remainder of the toy. She actually still plays with it. I would just strongly advise that with this toy, as with any toy really, you keep a close eye on your pooch in the beginning to see if it'll hold up.

I have a lot of (and buy only) JW natural rubber products for my two Great Danes and for some reason they do not play with this toy at all. The JW : rubber balls, Isqueak Bone Large , iSqueak Bouncin' Bowlin Pin Large, and iSqueak Funble Football Large they play with all the time. This toy has a different smell to it then the other JW rubber toys I have. It doesn't have that nature rubber smell more of a chemical smell and is so different that I truly wondered if it was actually made of JW natural rubber. I became more concerned when I could not find a JW mark on the toy only Chompion but when I revisited Amazon and looked it states it is a JW. I think I am going to contact JW and question them about this toy. Can not recommend buying but only because my dogs don't like it not because of Amazon or the sellers business practices.August 17, 2013

I think this it worth trying-it seems very durable and it a good size for larger sized pups.Our greyhound didn't like it at all. He took it in his mouth, then dropped it and hasn't picked it up again--and this is a dog who will try to eat Lincoln Logs. And other questionable things found outside. :)

My German Shepherd who loves the smaller typical original flavor nylabones has absolutely no interest in this. I guess I will have to back to the smaller (medium size) even thought it only lasted about a week.

great quality of this product but my dog doesnt like it and she is a 32 kg rottweiler.i think she doesnt like that the toy is really really solid and hard, she has really big teeths and she doesnt like biting this.

Kind of undecided on this. My dog only had it once for 1/2 hour and it was already showing tiny shards splintering off which some say is normal but some say those shards can get stuck in the walls of the digestive tract so I took it away and am worried about letting her have it. I meant for this to be a toy not a consumable and idk if want my dog ingesting it. I'd prefer to see her chewing on the kong bone that stays in one piece

I was really excited about this chew for my lab. Love Nylabone and their products but this isn't a favorite. the flavor is great but the chew is "shiny" and my dog doesn't like chewing it.

Not a big fan of this bone. Once your dog chews it, the plastic becomes sharp and cuts your dogs gums. Just go with a Kong bone instead. Soft and durable rubber.

I have a 50# 8mth old Shepard/boxer mix. Within the 1st week this toy started falling apart.

Did not hold up very well to a power chewer. Might hold up to a dog that chews less/softer. Otherwise it seemed like a decent product.

This was the second toy that I purchased for my puppy. The first one lasted about 5 months, the second only two days. My puppy chewed it quite easily, and the toy fell apart. The quality of the rubber was quite poor. I would not purchase this toy again.

Well, our dog has had this toy for about 45 minutes and there are a couple of holes in the ball ends already. I thought since it was called a "heavyweight" dog toy, it would last longer than that. The middle part seems strong, but the round ball ends are kind of flimsy. I usually stick with "kong" items and decided to try a new brand. Needless to say I will not be buying anything from this JW pet co. anytime soon.

I gave this dog toy two stars instead of one only because my dog really liked it and had fun playing with it. As a consumer, I am very disappointed in the quality of the toy. The description said that it was a heavyweight, durable toy for strong chewers. My dog is a 11 month old boxer mix. Within an hour of having the toy and playing with it on and off, she started chewing right through it. She chewed the whole end of one side off into many pieces. I ended up taking it from her for fear that she would start eating the pieces up. If you have a strong chewing dog, don't even waste your money on buying this toy. There are other brands that I have bought for her that are still holding up after months of playing with them. A WASTE OF MONEY!!

We have a 1 1/2 year old chocolate lab that can seemingly destroy any toy in seconds. She loved playing with this toy, but quickly (within minutes) got chunks off of it and once the chunks start coming off she eats them and it becomes a choking hazard. Wish this toy would have lasted, but I would not recommend it to other dog owners with stronger chewers.The only thing that we have found tough enough to stand up to her chewing that she loves is the super thick retriever roll (rawhide).

The one star is from both my dogs. Neither one has any interest at all in these expensive chew toys (yes I had to buy 2 or there would be war). My little girl would rather chew on her own dew claws and my little boy would rather chew on his sister.

My dog hates this, she chews everything but will not chew this. It is extremely hard and does not seem to smell like anything to her. Do not waste your money on this as there is no way to return it after it is opened.

I was looking for a substitute for rawhide for my 100 lb. heavy chewer. I handed the Nylabone to him. He dropped it, sniffed it, and cocked his head as if to say, "What am I supposed to do with this?" I handed it over to the local Humane Society and hope that it has found an appreciator. Meanwhile, he's getting organic carrots.

My dog isn't very interested in this. She treats it like a flavorless piece of plastic. When I try to get her interested, she just wants to play fetch with it and won't chew it. Maybe I was sent one that isn't flavored. She loves to chew and goes crazy over real bones.

I got this bone and a random assortment of toys and bones for our new dog. He had zero interest in this one. When I brought him in for our vet appointment I was told that these are too hard and could damage dogs' teeth. (They said anything that you could hit against your shin that would hurt is too hard for their teeth.) Waste of money.

I bought three Nylabones of different size and texture for our 10 week old Great Pyrenees pup...hasn't shown a bit of interest in any of them...not to mention this thing is just a hunk of plastic. Save your money. Buy the Orange Kong ball, she loves on it for at least 30 minutes a day.

This is supposed to be a dog toy for a real tour and my 15 pound dog had a hole in this and a portion of it in his belly in no time at all. We own this less than 10 minutes before it went into a box and was returned.

I wouldn't buy this for a pup as a chew toy my poor got a really bad spot on his gun in just a few days. Wish I didn't have to put any star. Spent good money at Vet to clear it up, should have read the reviews better. Do Not buy this for a pup tore my German Shepherd gums too hard.

when I ordered this, we had , what was a 4 month old Stafford American Terrier, I felt the heavyweight dog toy would be ideal/little did I know that less than 10 min she would have it tore apart !!/ was shocked at first,but my neighbour told me the same happened with his Rottie/ not worth the money/ it took longer for it to get her from China, than it did to become a tore up mess/

My lab had this thing chewed into tiny pieces in under 5 minutes. I kept finding bits of orange rubber in my house for days after cleaning it up. Not worth the money unless your dog just does not chew.
