Great chew Toy For Strong Chewer. It Is Also Safe For Her To Chew.
July 26, 2017
Great chew toy for a very aggressive chewer, My dog is a 57 pound year old standard poodle that thinks she's a terrier. We have bought at least a dozen toys that last about ten minutes. I did not think this plastic chew would interest her, but it did, She took it and has done a lot of damage to it, but it has lasted months and she loves it. Whew! More toys, please.
Works for us!
April 12, 2016
Our puppy loves it! Got it at 4 months old and still chooses this chew over others months later. Will go get this toy out of her crate, we just have to make sure she has it back in there when she goes to bed at night or else she chews her crate pad! Already bought another to have in case it gets lost. Not thinking she'll destroy it anytime soon. Definitely recommend for active chewers.
Great Toy!
November 13, 2015
Has definitely withstood my pup's aggressive chewing! She's always bringing home real animal bones she finds on explorations. Nice having an alternative that I don't mind her chewing on bed and various places in house, lol. This is the first "chew TOY" which she has actually spent any time with and enjoys Yes, it's not the quality of a real bone or antlers you can buy (or they find if you live in country)... but, she and I are both happy with the purchase.
It's a winner!

My 58 pound pit mix loves this antler! She loves antlers and won't have anything to do with bones. I went searching for a cheaper alternative and came across the nylabone antler. I'll be buying many more!
Great antler alternative for super chewers.
September 12, 2015
My dog is a super chewer and loves Nylabone products. They're made in the USA and last a long time. This antler alternative has lasted about as long as an antler would have and costs a heck of a lot less. I'll be buying again.

The Dog Needs to Chew
March 22, 2017
If you have a dog that loves to chew everything under four feet from the ground then this is the product that your dog will chew for hours and never rip up. I purchased 2 of these as someone thought their dog could use one and ended up taking mine. Ordered another one and my dog was right back on it. You can put peanut butter on the inside and your dog will stay busy for a while. It has been a few months now since I purchased this, but it still is good as new. Can be used as a toy or for training your dog. We used them for a reward for the military working dogs.
Its a hit!
March 13, 2017
I have been eyeing this toy for awhile and after a very unsuccessful string of toys my Great Pyrenees cares absolutely nothing about I decided the Kong would be my last attempt. He loves it! He also has issues with separation anxiety and this toy full of food and treats seems to have helped. Not cured but helped. I'm very pleased with this product

I got this for my in laws dog. He is a mini sheltie and is always up in everyones business and can never seem to chill. He also destroys all of his toys. I showed my mother in law how to put peanut butter inside this and when we gave this to him he was quiet as can be as he licked the peanut butter out. He also loves playing fetch with this as it bounces all over.My mother in law said this was the best thing ever as it is the only way to calm him down when people are over.
Scooter Loves It
November 3, 2016
The dog loves it, even without any filling. He likes the way it bounces unpredictably and it's his favorite "pay Fetch" toy. He'll even take it onto our bed and drop it himself and go chase it, essentially playing fetch with himself! We have a ramp onto the bed for him, and sometimes he rolls it down the ramp, and sometimes he just drops it off the bed. Many hours of play for him and giggles for us as we watch him. This is our second Kong. We lost the first one and panicked. We found it months later, when rotating mattress and box spring, jammed in the crook of the headboard, a result of one of the dog's drop it games, no doubt!
Another awesome sized KONG from KONG.
September 23, 2016
Another great toy from KONG. This one is perfect for my 10# little malty poo as well as my 5.0# poodle when he had his teeth however this toy is slightly too big for him as he no longer has any teeth or so few that we don't count them any longer. All the dogs love peanut butter or doggie cheese spread in the kongs as a treat. In the summer (it's hot here) we put peanut butter over the small hold on the top of the KONG and then add plain green yogurt, a few blueberries or watermelon, or raspberries, or some other fruit (bananas), then more yogurt, a spoonful of peanut butter and a small cookie in the large hole. I then put them all in the freezer and give it as a treat in the hot days of summer or when the humidity rises and the air doesn't work well.
Amazing toys for multiple reasons
March 27, 2016
We love our Kong Toys! This one is tiny and totally adorable. Perfect for a very small dog. The dog who enjoys this little thing is a Chihuahua. It is seriously very very small. This dog has tiny sharp teeth but was never able to chew the toy to bits like she did with others we gave her.We filled it with the small treats, I will admit, it was rather hard to get them in there, but it was as equally difficult for her to get them out which in turn kept her fairly entertained for long periods of time. It also helped curb some poor behavior due to separation anxiety, so that was a bonus! She barks less, chews less on inappropriate things, and she doesn’t get so anxious when we leave the house anymore. Great buy. We always recommend KONG toys for anyone who has a dog.

Durable!
June 22, 2017
My dogs liked them when I put peanut butter in them until they chew the ends closed. They still like to chew on them and they are really durable.
For very powerful chewers only, apparently.
May 5, 2017
I'm sure this product's loved by some dogs, but mine prefer the nylabone wishbones as they give a tiny bit more than the antler, which is too hard on their jaws or teeth it seems like - they give up on it quick and they're powerful chewers. I was hoping for something that would last a little longer than the wishbones but they were deterred. However, product came as advertised and didn't harm my animals, so I'm giving it 4 stars.. they were amused, just not as long as I hoped they'd be.
Durable, good product, has calcium and minerals for healthy teeth
April 17, 2017
I have a 10 month old Aussie who, despite being past her teething phase, still loves to chew (especially in the mornings for some reason). I liked this one because it has some minerals in there. My dog loves it but I wish it would last a little longer...she has already chewed up a big portion at the top and this is meant for aggressive chewers. Overall I'm happy with this purchase but I think I'll keep trying other Nylabones in the future until I find a super, super durable one for my Aussie.
Great for post- teething dogs, not so much for before
September 8, 2016
our (now) 7 month old dobe wasn't very interested in this until she had her adult teeth in. Now, when she's chewing the forbidden stuff, we pass her this as a distraction and it works well. Not really for the teething puppy, not soft enough for that.
A good antler alternative
June 6, 2016
Our Pit bull mix l9ves this. They're not as hardy as regular nylabones, but much, much cheaper than real antler. My vet suggested antler when the regular nylabones were making my dog have some tummy issues.Antlers for him are $25 and up. Ouch. This seems hollow unlike normal nylabones and less dense. We don't let him have it in his crate, though. We're afraid he'll bite off a piece. It also seems to use a lot of the marrow part in the mix as he gets what we call "marrow runs and gas" when he eats a lot of marrow from a new antler. If your dog has food allergies and needs a chewy, this is a good option. It also doesn't stain or stink like antler.
My dog loves, but watch and listen for bigger chunks to come lose
March 1, 2016
We have 3 different durachew nylabones for our avid chewer, out of the 3 this one has seemed to be the least durable. He will chew for upwards of 30 plus minutes at a time, and this is the first time I have pulled two chunks (just bigger than a peanut) out of his mouth during a chew session with any of the bones, and we've had the other two for 3 months. This is one of those things as a pet parent you just need to be alert for and pay attention while your baby is chewing away! But still loves it and could continue to chew for a while, just not unsupervised!

Dog chewed off top 'knob' within a week... sticking to black Kong for our extreme chewer!
September 24, 2017
I LOVE Kong products but maybe this one wasn't for our extreme chewer. I give it 4 stars because I personally believe I should have stuck with the black extreme Kong which has so far latest 2 months without being chewed apart (user error). I am writing this review so that those with dogs who are extreme chewers know that this product will likely not last. Like I said, I would suggest you get the black one... It's hole unfortunately it too big for the 'large' Kong treats unless you stuff 2 in at once but that's a bit too much treat for one sitting in my opinion... Oh well our dog loves to chew it and that's all that matters.
Great for fetch or putting toys/treats inside - not so great for chewing.
September 12, 2017
4 stars only because my dogs will ONLY play with this toy if it is filled with treats or I use it playing fetch. And, oddly enough, both of my dogs love to chew. The hole is large enough (or small enough) to break apart some treats that JUST fit inside causing the dog to play with it rolling it around until the treats fall out, which depending on your treat snapping ability can take a dog 5 minutes to solve the puzzle, or 30-45 minutes. Very much an experimentation project. But as mentioned above, my dogs (Siberian Husky and Australian Shepherd) see no reason to play with this unless it is filled with treats or I'm throwing it for them to run and get. The odd bounce it has is a plus as it keeps the dogs a little fooled trying to snatch it. And you might think that the reason they don't play with is without treats is because they're smart enough to think "what's the point without treats?" Well, I tried for about 2 weeks to get them to chew and play with it out of the package with no such luck. So now, I just use it to keep them busy pushing it around with their noses. Oh and the durability? Top Notch. But I don't own a gigantic breed and I've heard some stories from friends about their dogs actually blasting right through Kong Products.
she's not a power-jaw chewer like my last dog
September 7, 2017
As described and expected. Keeps her occupied, but really only for about 60 minutes before she's gotten everything out. I make my own Kongs with peanut butter, treats, carrots, pumpkin purée and peas; then freeze it so it lasts longer. Kong spray goop stuff would only last five minutes MAX for my dog.I bought the medium size for my 30lb mutt and it's the right size for her. She's a super/heavy chewer and has not been able to damage the red Kong. However, she's not a power-jaw chewer like my last dog, who needed the black Kong.
Great toy, but check the size!
November 29, 2016
I volunteer at the local animal shelter and we use these to keep the animals entertained. We stuff them with dry food, cover with peanut butter and freeze. They work really well and most dogs like them a lot. I also ordered one for my dog. The large one is not too large, but fair for a medium sized dog. I am glad I went to the store first to double check the size otherwise I would have ordered the medium but it would have been too small.
Holds up well
January 2, 2016
My dog loves this as long as there is a goody inside! I use peanut butter, canned dog food, cheese, etc. It's the perfect size for a chiweenie. I mostly use it (along with some other toys) for when we have to leave her in the enclosed porch when we go someplace. It helps keep her busy and not so lonely. It's kind of a pain to clean, but I started using a very small bottle brush and it pretty much does the trick. This one is very small but they make bigger ones for bigger dogs. I imagine they would be a lot easier to clean. I am happy with it and so is my dog.
Not too bad!
December 10, 2015
I have a 5lb Morkie who is 4.5 months old, chews everything and does seem to like this - but only if there is a treat inside of it that he can get after. The first time I gave it to him he played with it for 30 minutes or more. I bought the Kong ziggies to go inside of it and he likes them but once he chews it down the treat becomes stuck inside of the KONG. I have to find a tool of some sort to push it through the bigger end and then he'll start playing with it again until he chews more off, so I have to keep doing this until the treat is almost out. It does seem to hold his interest for a bit so I do like it. He just loses interest once the treat is stuck inside.

And ok substitute
July 4, 2017
After my dog had issues with other small antlers I was looking for an alternative for my lab who is quite the chewer. This is a good choice for someone looking for a non-antler or non-rawhide. My only complaint is that my dog quickly reduced this to sharp edges and pieces. I know other reviewers have mentioned sanding them down, so I might try that next and see if I can prolong its life!

January 21, 2017
This is nothing like antlers. My dog normally likes Nylabones and antlers. He didn't like this one at all. It seems as though it's just shaped like an antler and not as fun to chew as other Nylabones; at least for him
Very hard plastic toy. Not rubber like at all.
December 17, 2016
This toy is very interesting. My understanding is that it will take the place of a real antler bone, but this thing is a super hard plastic. My dog is an active toy chewer and because it was so hard she was not interested in this at all! Just recently, after several months, has she started to play with it. But she is not able to do much more than scratch the surface. My other dog sniffed it and has not looked at it since.
Not for my husky
February 1, 2016
I have a siberian husky that i bought this for for an alternative. He's a strong chewer and ended up chewing up the hard plastic into sharp edges which cut up the inside of his mouth. I wouldn't recommend if you have a stong jawed breed. More for the breeds that have rounded teeth, like golden retrievers.
I probably won't buy again.
November 30, 2015
Basically it's a piece of plastic. I ordered it for my dogs because I wanted a LONG lasting toy they could chew on and not destroy. I thought this would be a durable softer plastic, but it's a very hard plastic. Both my dogs ended up loving it. It disappeared after a couple days... can't find it anywhere, even under furniture. But that's probably for the best, because chewing (and ultimately ingesting) plastic isn't good. I agree with what some other reviewers mentioned - when the dog chews on it, it pulls up/out some of the plastic and then it's dimpled with pokey/sharp plastic points.

August 5, 2017
Our Saint Bernard puppy and Lab are ONLY interested in this Kong when there is peanut butter in it. Once they lick it out, they both walk away. I guess I thought they would spend more time chewing on it. It's a great quality and others we've had have lasted many years but neither our Lab or Saint care much for them. Also, our Saint is a HUGE chewer and hasn't been able to destroy these.
Small dogs

Meh
May 6, 2017
I put peanut butter in the Kong. Freeze it and give it to my Havanese pup. He is somewhat interested in it. He would lick the edges clean. But, he has no interest in getting the rest of them. So I ended up cleaning them out by soaking it for a while. I just don't see how could he get all of it out if I stuff it all the way with their bottle stuffer?
Good price but reccomend using with Kong specific treats
March 2, 2016
My baby loves her Kong! I bought it here because it was more inexpensive than the local pet stores. At first I was at a lost because it was an odd shape and all the treats I had either made it impossible for her to get them and therefore she would give up quickly or made it super simple to reach the treats. After buying Kong specific treats I saw the true benefits on a Kong. Only thing is that Kong treats are pretty expensive. I tried doing the peanut butter thing that I read about but my puppy wasn't really crazy about it and it made a huge mess. I think it's great with the Kong specific treats but that's it.
Good play toy for dogs but...
February 7, 2013
This is a good play toy for dogs. I toss it across the room and he chases it or he tosses it himself and chases it. However, my dog is a strong chewer and kept biting off huge chunks. So I threw it away and bought the black one which is supposed to be harder. We had bought a red one at a store when we first got our dog (jack Russell/beagle mix) at eight months old and he did well with it, but lost it. That was the reason for the purchase here at amazon. So if your dog is a strong chewer order the black one.Update....I received the black one the other day and he had a big chunk chewed out of it also within a matter of minutes. We still use it to toss and bounce for him to fetch but he is still able to chew it up. We'll see how long it lasts. I called a vet to see what else is available for strong chewers and besides the Kong and the Nylin bones she couldn't suggest anything else.
Two weeks later and nothing
November 2, 2011
I'm sure this is a great product, however, it's been two weeks and my dogs haven't chewed on it or played with it. There was even a treat smothered with peanut butter stuck inside. One of my dogs just licked all the peanut butter out, left the treat inside, and neither dog has touched it since. It sits there all alone and unused. My dogs seem to prefer rawhides over anything else. I bought it to see if they would like something different but I guess I was wrong. It does have a weird, chemical, gas kind of smell to it so maybe that's one reason they don't care for it? Guess I'll stick to rawhides and other chew toys. I really hoped they would like it. Oh well!UPDATE: 11/03/2013 Eventually one of my dogs started chewing on it on a regular basis. Now, it's torn into two pieces because of him! I still have it laying around somewhere. He doesn't really chew on it now but he enjoyed it for a little while.

September 7, 2016
Dog chewed sharp pieces off this almost instantly, the antler isn't as hard as other nylabone toys. It seems to chip away in sharp pieces. I had to take it away from my dog because her gums and lips started bleeding and I didn't want her swallowing the sharp pieces. She can sit for hours and chew on nylabone 6-8" bones and barely put a dent in them. This one lasted about 2 hours before it was sharp enough to be used as a prison shank.
My Golden Retriever doesn't like this
July 24, 2016
My Golden Retriever is an active chewer, so I get him durable chew toys all the time. I've given him real antlers and he just chews on them to get the marrow off. I know that Nylabone products usually last a while, so I thought I'd give this a try. He chewed on it experimentally for a few minutes, and hasn't touched it since. He LOVES the Y-shaped chew toys though (different brand).
Plastic Coating Breaks Apart
June 3, 2016
The product arrived quickly and was packaged according to expectation. I opened the nylabone and gave it to my pup, who is less than a year old and under 35 lbs. In less than 5 minutes he had chewed through the plastic coating and the bone was breaking apart. The product must be watched as it is chewed by your dog to ensure safety.

March 24, 2016
My dog really likes traditional nylabones but destroys them pretty quickly... I thought this looked like a good option. My dog will chew this a little, bit but doesn't prefer it. It is made from a really hard plastic and I think the texture is too smooth to be appealing to dogs. Looks cool- neat idea- but my puppy doesn't really like it.
Not a good bone for heavy chewers!
December 26, 2015
We have a 100lb heavy chewer lab who usually loves, l-o-v-e-s nylabone products but this particular model does not hold up to other product standards. After 20 minutes, small bits of the "bone" are spread across the living room floor. Don't buy if you have a heavy chewer. I haven't had any problems with other nylabone products just this one. Sad that I wasted money on it!

I guess this makes sense if you plan on paying a premium for all of the Kong branded treats / accessories but if you just want a distraction to put some peanut butter in for your pup look elsewhere for a better deal and fit
August 11, 2017
Kind of pricey for a piece of rubber, I also though that getting the Large would mean a larger hole at the base so bigger dogs could get their tongue in there - no such luck as no matter what the size of the product the hole diameter appears the same. I guess this makes sense if you plan on paying a premium for all of the Kong branded treats / accessories but if you just want a distraction to put some peanut butter in for your pup look elsewhere for a better deal and fit.
flawed batch? inferior quality compared to before.
April 21, 2017
I have ordered this same product from the same seller (Amazon LLC) before, but this time the item appears to be of inferior quality compared to the previous kong purchases. It lasted 1 day with the same dog compared to the same red kong from last year's order that has held up just fine. Something must have changed with the quality or composition of the product.

February 18, 2017
My boxer doesn't like her kong. I bought a large based on the recommendation, the hole is far too small for her large jowls and tongue and she is not interested in this. She also doesn't care for balls, but I had hoped this would be different... I am hesitant to try the larger size. She prefers her $1 squeaky bone from wal-mart and stuffed animals.
There is a smaller size available and maybe that would have been better, but I'm not about to find out
January 16, 2016
This size toy was too big for my puppy. She doesn't play with it. I was able to put peanut butter inside and it entertained her for a short while but then cleaning the inside was a pain. There is a smaller size available and maybe that would have been better, but I'm not about to find out.
Be careful to order the right size - the "large" isn't big enough for a puppy!
November 14, 2014
First, my dogs have always loved KONG products. They are well made and last a long time (one original KONG we have is now being enjoyed by our third generation dog. The problem I have is with their new sizing. You would think that the sizing would loosely match the size of the dog. Large dogs would get a large KONG, right? Wrong.I purchased a large, and what I got was correctly labeled large, but it seems that KONG has gone the route of candy bar makers and reduced their actual sizes. This "large" is barely big enough for our 5-month old puppy. It's too small for our adult lab, and less than 1/2 the size of the original KONG we bought years ago. Labeling this product as "large" is deceiving. It's more like a small or medium. I can't imagine the size of the dog that would be right for an X-small - probably the size of a mouse!Bottom line, get a KONG for your dog, but don't rely on their sizing. Check the dimensions and order accordingly.

Choking Hazard
August 11, 2017
This product could cause a choking hazard for aggressive chewers. Two of my dogs were able to break this bone apart - I found pieces of it all over my home. I would not purchase again. I do like (and so do my dogs) many of the other Nylabone products, especially those for aggressive chewers.

June 26, 2017
Useless. I used it once and never again because there's really nothing to fit that hole in a manner that the food won't come out right away or get stuck inside which is what happened. Either way, the snack will come out too easily (with just a flip) or not come out at all.

January 29, 2015
I have seen Kongs around for years so in anticipation of my puppy, I ordered a medium. I absolutely couldn't believe how SMALL it was!! Like 3"!!! It is a total rip-off to pay $10 for a small piece of rubber like this. I can't imagine ANY dog being able to use an x-small except for maybe a Chihuahua! VERY disappointed!
