This is useful. It may slow down your phone (though they have improved this over time) but its worth it to catch nasty hidden malware. But also, if your into cybersecurity like me, make sure your keep current on news for flaws in hardware architecture and such.

This was a very easy and inexpensive way for me to renew my subscription with McAfee. I found the download to be easy and fast. I recommend purchasing your McAfee products this was and saving money.

What a great deal compared to yearly charge when ordering directly from McAfee. Downloaded on line and is exactly the same product I was using.Have 2 computers and downloaded on 1 computer and will download on other when current contract ends in 2 mo.I read the reviews and with all the negative reviews I was unsure about purchasing. However I followed the suggestion of one of the reviewers and it worked perfectly. 1) Ran full virus scan with current protection(took2-3 hours). 2. Delete current protection program (control panel-uninstall programs). Download the new McAfee.

I've used McAfee protection on my computers for years and am very satisfied with the level of protection it provides. The only priblen I encountered was with the download serial number purchase. The serial number was not the problem was the lack of directions. I was not provided a link or URL to get to the proper website to download the product using the new serial number. After reviewing the McAfee website; I ended up calling for assistance.

I have used McAfee Total Protection for a few years and ordered this latest download from Amazon since my present protection was about to expire. It was easy to download. It took some time because it had to take off my older software to replace it with this updated version, so if you want to upgrade, just allow yourself some time to allow this process to take effect. McAfee is easy to use when you want to scan for viruses, and it does automatic scans about every 10 days. It has found some viruses in the past on my computer and has secured them so that they would not effect my computer. The software also does automatic updates quite often. So once this software is downloaded to your computer, your worries are null.

My subscription had one single day remaining, and McAfee was giving me a 50% off deal for $45 as this software is normally priced at $90. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to download and renew for only $9.99. It took about 15 minutes and worked automatically, so it was super easy to install. I am good for a full year now!BTW McAfee is the best software out there for your PC. I have Windows 8.1 which has an inbuilt anti-virus, but even then for online banking/shopping etc,, it is advisable to install McAfee.

ive had avg since 2007 and the one for phone can be a pain sometimes .but the app to be able to move to SD card is awesome kinda wish phone mfr would let u do that for free

I have experienced full functionality with no errors or problems but am not sure I have sufficiently given it a complete testing on all facets.

I downloaded this app in June 2015... NO STARS. FRAUD PURCHASEI thought "cool". $11.99.....Then begin Aug notification... Trial was up.Just saw it was ordered again FREE and $11.99 crossed off. Of course now it won't let me download. It depressant day FREE TRIAL... THANKS

It seems ok. Ive seen post after post of not updated , but it is the same one as google 4.3 as of july 25. I got it for free.I think this is a good app but not superior. Ive seen some better security features on bitdefender , avast pro versions of course with better cleaner features. This does the job with basic features. Seems it has no firewall that it only scans at a time of date you set it to instead of automatically scanning everything.. no registry cleaner.I like the fact there is no advertisements and it doesnt push you to buy other avg products,There is no way I'd pay 12.99 for this. For free I think its sufficient to protect my Android device.

Does everything I expected and more. The anti theft software is exactly what I needed for my phone

This is a good feature rich anti-virus app, love the notifications that come over to the BB10 Hub like low battery warnings, and reminders that you have full antivirus protection. However, not all features are compatible with BB10, like tracking your device using Google Maps, or finding it by sending an SMS.... in this case BlackBerry Protect does a great job filling in this void.

With the protection that comes on your computer it don't know if it is necessary to purchase products like these. That being said I still purchased this product. Haven't had any issues with my computer while I've had it. It did slow down my computer slightly after installing the software as any product like this does.

The only reason I rated the software as four stars has nothing to do with the software directly - it is the process required to activate a renewal via "key code", which is less than half the cost of 3PC software itself. It took 20 minutes to activate when it should have been a one-stop, 5 minute, effortless call. In order to activate the key, one must call McAfee CS - who may/may not speak conversational English. After struggling repeatedly to convey the key, a mixed 25 digit alpha-numeric code, he finally got it right, then told me that he would connect me with someone who would guide me through the operation (!). When I reached that person - (you guessed it) - I had to repeat the key ID again on the same merry-go-'round. Totaling about 20 minutes of wasted time and frustration, I was finally able to download the software and install on my PCs.

McAfee is okay and it also isn't. For more than a decade I've been using McAfee. I've never had a problem with their software in any aspect (installation, firewall, etc). As long as I've had a continuous subscription, my computers were always protected well. However, it is always cheaper to purchase a new subscription every time rather than renewing through McAfee directly. Thanks Amazon.I am an existing user of McAfee and I purchased the online code to extend my subscription. Here's the thing though: there is no possible way of doing so either through the program itself or on your account profile on their website. I ended up going through some unnecessary troubles to do so. Also never have your PC unprotected, not even for a second.

I was hesitant to order after reading several reviews about download/install issues. Turns out they are right! However, after several unsuccessful attempts at installation, I uninstalled my original McAfee and then went to the technical assistance page. It runs through the internet and solves install issues. After doing that, install went easy. So, that's why I took off a star. Microsoft and McAfee are aware of this issue and have yet to fix the problem. If you are expecting to click and be done, that isn't going to happen, but if you feel comfortable uninstalling software and running the assistance manager through the McAfee website then this is a good option. It is much less expensive than buying directly from McAfee at the end of your subscription. McAfee does offer instant updates when your year long protection expires. It costs twice as much and only covers one PC.

This seems to provide good protection, but it is not too intrusive. I've had it installed for about a month and the security report indicates it has quarantined 1 Trojan (utils.exe Artemis! DF6E67BB29B6), blocked 3167 potentially malicious incoming connections, and blocked 27 spam messages (out of 716 total emails). I am careful on which web sites I go to (mostly online shopping sites, news, Facebook, and photography related sites. I never open any emails which look like spam. I feel my overall exposure to computer viruses is low, however having Mcafee insstalled gives me additional assurance that my computer is as safe as it can be and free of unwanted software/viruses.

The code is a good value. The codes are legit and work as expected... and mine were available right after purchase.Installation can be a HUGE pain. The renewal fee on site is always outrageous but it can be the best value if you don't have time to fool with a new installation (look locally and you can probably find a disc version for about the same cost as online renewal that you can use on 3 computers). I'm always amazed at how much trouble it can be to install McAfee programs.The software is pretty good and should be trouble free after you get it installed. No antivirus program will stop everything from getting in your computer, but it does a pretty good job catching most things and it doesn't hog up all the system resources that some package solutions do (Norton especially). There will be times when you are busy and McAfee decides it is time to run a scan, so make sure you set it to scan automatically while you are normally asleep. This is the first version of McAfee in a long time that will allow you to trust a program that has been detected as malicious (using the Artemis heuristics), but you have to turn off real-time scanning, restore the file, and then add it (under real-time scanning).I typed out an installation guide, but Amazon won't let me post it so here are just a few things to help you: Do an internet search for 'redeem card mcafee total protection' and you should find the home (dot) mcafee (dot) com address that you need to enter the code (If you are changing your subscription to another account then uninstall with mcpr.exe before you redeem your code or the code will get tied to the old email account).If you have installation problems then go to Mcafee tech support, use the 'contact technical support' button and start a chat session (you will install a small program that lets a tech install the McAfee software for you). This is a free service with your new software so use it if you are not a computer savvy person or if you get stuck/overwhelmed.If you are trying to do it yourself, then you will most likely need to uninstall any Mcafee software (use their tool, MCPR.exe), set the security zones (Internet zone especially) in your 'Internet Options' to their lowest settings. Turn off any and all security programs and firewalls (Windows will enable Windows Defender after you uninstall and the realtime protection must be turned off). Don't uninstall anything else, just make sure it's off. If you get stuck anywhere with the install program it means you have something on your system blocking access to the McAfee file servers (firewall or proxy) or blocking installation if everything downloaded correctly (other security settings in Internet Options or programs like Windows Defender).Remember, you can always let tech support take over if you get stuck.

After lollipop 5.1.1 update applocking feature is not working. please update your app asap.

I got this app for free on a special. I would have never paid 15 bucks for what it does. You can get other apps that do the same exact thing for less or even free.

There are some features like the anitheft that could be worth the price but in all its too intrusive with everything you download even from email attachments. i havent tried other antivirus but this one did not find anything malicious with my phone and only made it slower. i tried it for a but but uninstalled when my new update was available. Device ONEPLUS ONE running CM12.0

This is a wonderful anti-virus app. While the Devs have updated it from the 3.3 version to 4.3, the current version is now 4.4 on google play. While they do update it, its not often enough. I got this as a free app awhile back and installed it when they updated it to 4.3.Unless you get this app for free, its strongly recommended that you buy the app from the play store.

The jury is still out on this product. I have already experienced a glitch and will need to see how well it works over time. I was glad to find this product, as I had been concerned about security monitoring on my Kindle Fire.

I didn't use it, had to uninstall because it cost my device to reboot constantly.

I like this better than AVG. I bought the AVG 2015 then I bought this one. For some reason McAfee is in love with Yahoo, which is like Google but kicked in the head by a mule at a young age. However, you can search Google to find out how to fix the McAfee Yahoo relationship. If McAfee broke up with Yahoo, he'd be a cool dude... but he insists on dragging that anchor around with him.

I love the program but the instructions were blurred. I finally found a phone number and got technical support: YEAH! I bought the 3 PC so I had three calls in to get the protection on each because I was not wireless and had only one incoming internet (my fault-now wireless). I opted for the Hands On choice where the technical person took control of my computer to get it loaded. I used this service on all three machines and not a single one of them was easy (straight forward if you will). It is not easy to add a McAfee if bought other than McAfee. There were so many things that I did not know. Now that I am established....maybe it will be easier next year. I can only hope-anyway: there is the Hands On! Love the product.

THERE WERE MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE DOWNLOAD. I ENDED UP USING A TECH FROM MCAFEE, TURNING OVER CONTROL OF MY COMPUTER OVER TO HIM. IT WAS NOT A FUN TIME. I STRUGGLED FOR HOURS ON SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A FEW MINUTES. THE PROGRAM, ONCE INSTALLED, WORKS FINE. HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WITH THE PROGRAM ITSELF. FYI, MCAFEE WAS ALREADY ON MY COMPUTER, SO IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SIMPLE THING TO DO. I USED AMAZON INSTEAD OF ORDERING FROM THEM DIRECTLY BECAUSE AMAZON HAD A SPECIAL PRICE. THEIRS WAS TWICE AS MUCH.

Although reading other posts on how this product runs and was fairly happy with what to expect, it seems to absorb a lot of my systems usage. Especially CPU usage, I prefer Norton over this particular Software. Norton for my OS, which is Win7 64, runs a lot smoother without all the lag that McAfee has put on my system. I prefer to go back with Norton. Buyer beware.Although there is that negative aspect, McAfee has protected my system very nicely. It alerts me whenever I encounter unsafe sites. But also make sure that you adjust your updates section so you can get updates regularly. My default was set for once every week which I usually check everyday for definitions updates.I bought this software due to a promotional period where is cost about $26.00. I do believe though once I have the time, I will switch back to Norton Internet Security. Not to be too negative, Norton seems to be a better match for my pc setup and requirements.

Has its own adware, and annoying sales pitches. Not great for blocking other adware.But, it is very low cost for basic protection. Best ot use for systems that you dop not nuse for much browsing.I put this on PCs used mostly for data logging that occasionally are on line to send data, but that seldom if ever receive anything I have not sent myself.

It was a great value for three computers to be covered at that price, but the actual software kinda sucks. Its always trying to upsell me, and it puts its claws on everything (read, I see its logo everywhere now, how unnecessary). I suppose it does its job, but not nearly the same out of the way efficiency that I got from the free versions of Avast, which is what I'll return to once this year's subscription is up!

Later it says that needs to update. It downloads the update. But then it stays in "installing" so it never updates anymore... too bad because it was a nice app.

This app did not remove the virus I had. I had to purchase additional app to be able to eliminate the virus.

Killed battery and seems overly aggressive.

I installed the new update for the antivirus and it didnt open kept on crashing i uninstalled it and reinstall it with the same problem crashing on my note 4 sm n910c

Took up too much ram, continuously ran in the background, even after force quitting.

I'm reasonably new to the product. It seems fine, but it insists on scanning during the middle of the day. Why? The phone sits idle and plugged in at night. That's the perfect time to scan, but **there are no settings to adjust this**. My computer scanners let me pick... why not the app?

Bought his while having the old version. It would not install due to a virus making it past this protection. Finally got a person and they offer a service to remove but will do little for one that got past their "defense". Giving one more try before I move on

Works s as described but kills your memory and eats up your CPU usage so you might be protected if you can get from one screen to another. Windows Defender that comes with Windows software is a much better choice unless you go to unsafe sites all the time then I would recommend this product.

I looked at different PC Security products and reviews and was still some what undecided when I purchased McAfee Total Security. My Norton 360 was running out, had to make a decision. Well I made the wrong one. I found out less than a week later that if McAfee finds a virus or malware on my computer, I would have to may $ 89.95 to have it removed. I called McAfee support and they said it was true, I would have to pay a company associated with McAfee. McAfee support asked me if there was anything else they could help me with!!!! I am now looking another program.

I have tried McAfee a few times, in the past, and I have always removed it. The first time, years ago, there was so much other stuff included, that I had my computer loaded with unused, unnecessary stuff. And my computer would not work right, it kept tripping off. Other times, about the same thing, my computer just will not work right with this. Perhaps, with some technical help, I could have solved the problems, but I did not want to spend time trying to get it set up, so I returned it and got a refund. Again, perhaps if I tried fine tuning it, it might have been okay, I am sure that McAfee is probably a great Protection software, but it does not work as I want it to, so I don't keep it.

The good? InexpensiveThe bad - the site protector was exceedingly cumbersome. It wouldn't mention that there were crappy scripts running preventing a page from displaying, it would just hang until you ctrl-alt-del and termed the browser process.Installed on a newly imaged machine, only to be infected by a keylogger via a browser based script within 24 hours. This product wouldn't detect nor eliminate it even in safe-mode.Installed NIS and was infection free in less than an hour. I got less than I paid for, as I no longer trust it at all. Uninstalled it and consider the $15 not as completely wasted, but rather a painful lesson.

It's only 7 bucks but I'm still irritated. Amazon says my new Kindle is not compatible with this app, and there's no 'returning ' it. Beware.

There is little to nothing in terms of usability of such software.The permissions it asks for are of course horrendous.Avoid installing from outside of Amazon Store and/or Google Play and you should be fine on Android anyway.

OK, I downloaded this antivirus software for my phone, now I need to set up all the features of the anti theft etc. The AVG site want the license number of the product that was purchased. It is no way to be found and I cannot locate it from AVG as they refer me back to Amazon. I still have not been able to set it up. I think you are mislead in downloading it and then you cannot get it register on the AVG website.

I picked this up while it was free and for that price I shouldn't have much to complain about but this is a special case of a terribly made app. I downloaded it, ran it, scanned my phone all of this went fine, my problems began when I started setting up the anti-theft features. The first thing I did was create a password to lock the phone upon theft, but as soon as I hit enter my phone locked itself and I found that my password didn't work. I'm slightly annoyed now, because while I was at home during this process and was able to quickly search a solution I'd have been completely screwed if I were somewhere without alternate means of internet access. You see, your password can only be six characters in length, but they don't tell you that your password is too long when you're making it in the event that it's longer than six characters, they just truncate it without telling you. This very quickly becomes an issue when the app automatically locks your phone upon password creation. So you can endlessly type in all the permutations of your chosen password as much you like, but unless you think to omit enough characters to hit the magic number of six you're just screwed. A simple flag to remind you that six is the limit during password creation or rejecting an overly lengthy password would completely remedy this issue.

I'm so glad I got this when it was free last week, because it would be a waste of money! Amazon gave me version 3.3.2, and the latest version is at LEAST 4.2. And when I've attempted to run the initial scan, it has crashed every time. I have restarted my phone, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Still doesn't work. Don't waste your time or money buying it through Amazon. At least the Google play store has the current version, and it's on sale.

I HATE IT! This POS is a waste of time. Their customer service ran me around for more than 2 hours trying to install it and couldn't even get it installed! Don't waste your money--or your time. I spent more than an hour on the phone with their customer service and then they transferred me, they said, to some kind of advanced technical service, the put me on hold for more than 30 minutes and never answered. I'm asking Amazon for a refund because McAfee could not even get their product installed on my computer. Mine is a simple computer and doesn't have anything fancy on it. The problem with installation has to be something unique to McAfee's product. I have used Norton for years and never had anything like these problems. I guess I'll be going back to Norton.

Recently, I learned that there was an "intruder" in my account. Someone else, unknown to me, was using one of my unused McAfee licenses. Not sure what the problem is but read online that it has happened before with McAfee. Until I discovered this intruder, I was satisfied with the product - even though initially I had a lot of problems.Update: I called both McAfee's Technical Assistance and Customer Service departments and spoke with them and (as kind as they were) they were not very helpful in solving the problem. The McAfee folks said they had not heard of this problem before - but all they had to do was a little online research to find that this has occurred to a number of people using McAfee. I also communicated with Amazon's Customer Service. They also could not explain how this happened.I checked yesterday and this stranger is still listed in my McAfee account. I did deactivate this intruder but am still very uncomfortable with the situation. Probably change AV providers soon...

The download option is not good and it causes a lot of pain. Download is more profitable for the manufacturers and the sellers, but those savings are not passed to the consumer.When you try to download it, McAfee attempts to take over your whole computer to the point that it starts disrupting the operating system. In my case, it even got to the point of destroying the activation and validation of Microsoft Windows 7. Then the Win 7 screen became black, announcing that my copy was counterfeit and illegal. I was forced to take a new HDD and reload Win 7 and all the application software.The options to customize McAfee are non existent: you can not change the size of its windows or select specific sites to block, etc.Any existing protection has to be disabled to install the new security protection, thus exposing you "naked" to any malware lurking around. Also any glitch in the communications or any power outage means that your system gets compromised or destroyed.In particular, do not buy security software sold via download. Once you buy it, even if you do not used it, there is no way to return it.AMAZON IS NO EXCEPTION. I DID NOT USE McAfee AND STILL I CAN NOT GET MY MONEY BACK.

Hello everyone, I purchased this digital download on in November 2014 to save it until my March 2015 expire date. Suddenly an hour ago, I saw my e-mail and was informed that my subscription was going to expire in the 20 days. So for me I just tried to update early and the code that was given to me after I purchased it was'nt working. I entered the McAfee website and clicked on help, chatted with Mr. Aslkik (Cool dude.) But he tried to find my purchase and it came out that I never purchased the product. So I called, and again spoke to another gentleman (he was a cool dude also) and he looked for the product on his system and also did'nt find anything, even with the product key information that I purchased; nothing. So he recommended the steps when a refund needs to be done. He recommended to find a bank statement of the purchase and go to the bank where the credit card is from and inform the problem. I have always used the original antivirus that my computer uses and only one I changed because the updated version that offered the antivirus came with had much less protection and had to be changed to another and I selected McAfee. And from their on up to now. McAfee has worked fine for me and the alerts I receive because of viruses and other threats are great but that digital download and the problem I have now to find $90.00 to purchase the Total Protection because of this damn problem has screwed me over financially. Please be cautious or just call McAfee before purchasing. P.S. today, March 9, 2015, went to claim to the bank like the McAfee employee indicated but the 90 day limit passed so lesson learned: NEVER PURCHASE A ANTIVIRUS, SPECIALLY A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, MONTHS BEFORE YOUR EXPIRATION DATE.

1 day within I installed this software, my laptop appeared blue screen for unknown reason and restarted automatically. Then, strange thing came: my C disk had around 10 GB storage less, and I could not find the used storage anywhere!! At first, I did not know what happened, and since this was a new laptop, I recovered my system. Then, same thing happened again! However, at this time, I still did not know what was wrong, and I recovered my system again! What's next......? No wonder it happened again! I finally realized that it might be due to this software and uninstalled it, but my C disk did not become better, and the used space did not return. I had no choice but recovered the system again!!!!! It drives me crazy!!!!!! After this recovery, I avoided this software. Days has past, and my laptop does not have that ridiculous situation again!! I can't ensure you that it is absolutely this software's cause, but my laptop is brand new with a little software in it, and therefore, the situation quite indicates the reason . I strongly recommend you to avoid this software because it wastes your money (non-refundable), steals your system disk storage for nearly 10 GB, and might undermine your PCs.

I purchased this code on Amazon.com and downloaded the file from McAfee.com. However, when i tried to install the file, it gave me a message saying the file could not be installed, I called McAfee technical support, and after spending about 15 mins on the phone, the person said he could not help and would transfer me onto "techmasters" who would be able to help. The person from techmasters went through a lot of detail on the phone and ultimately said they would need to "clean" my machine and there could be a charge of several hundred dollars depending on what they find. I did not want to pay for services that i did not sign up for and asked for a refund. He transferred me on to customer service who said she was not able to refund any money and i had to get it refunded from Amazon.com. I then called Amazon customer service and they said software products were non-refundable and this was one of the terms of sale!!! Amazon was not lying because this is exactly what they have on the page and i had missed reading it.Bottomline, i am stuck with a piece of useless software that is not installable and no one seems to be able to do anything about it.
