Lots of experience here.
April 2, 2016
This is the fourth one of these that I have purchased, so you know I am really happy with their performance and usefulness. The first I bought was for myself and I was completely satisfied with it's performance. My son saw it and liked it so I bought another for him. After several months he told me that his had failed and would no longer charge. So I ordered another for him(that's three). Turns out that there was nothing wrong with his first one since he tried the new one and it didn't work either. Yup. Bad cord, so now he has two great chargers(at my expense). I then decided I would like another for another location in my home, and ordered the fourth. From this you can tell that I am totally happy with this unit and would recommend it to anyone looking for this type of charger. It is a smart charger, in that it senses the technology of the unit you are pluging into it and delivers the most charge possible without damaging your device. This produces very fast charge times. Which I really like. You will charge your cell phone in half the time that the charger that came with your phone takes. And Ipads and tablets charge in a flash.I would recommend this charger to anyone looking to have fast reliable charges for your USB connected devices.
A great solution for a problem I didn't realize I had
January 29, 2016
Every so often a product pops up to meet a need I didn't know I had. This is one of those products. My wife and I between us have a fairly extensive menagerie of USB-chargeable devices: phones, tablets, Bluetooth speakers and headphones, and myriad other devices. USB charging is ubiquitous enough that I now get annoyed upon receiving a device that has a proprietary charger. When you juggle a lot of chargeable devices, there's always the question of "Am I using the correct wall wart?" USB always provides five volt power, but the different wall warts have different charging capacities. Using a charger with too little capacity will cause slow charging. And of course, there's always the issue of finding enough outlets to accomodate all of the wall warts. This little device, priced only marginally higher than some USB wall warts, solves those problems. The 40W capacity (that's 8 amps at 5 volts, for those of you who glossed over basic electricity during your high-school science class), is enough to simultaneously charge several devices. The only time you might run out of capacity is if you try to charge five high-capacity devices simultaneously. Some tablets, for example, require 10W chargers; you can only charge four of these at one time using the Anker PowerPort 5. I've never tried to charge five tablets at once. I assume from having read the product description that this charger will simply reduce the charge rate, taking a bit longer to reach full charge. These Anker chargers are so handy that we bought a bunch to leave around the house in locations where we're likely to need a USB charger.Highly recommended!
Charge your tablets and phones with one amazing tool.

Great Useful Stuff Eco-Friendly Bamboo Multi-Device Charging Station and Dock (Wireless Phone Accessory)I have been searching for way too long for a solution to storing and charging the multiple small electronics in my home, and I'm happy to report that Great Useful Stuff solved the problem for me.This stand has replaced my previous BlueFinger-3222826 stand that needed a few adjustments to work for my situation, and I'm finally a happy camper. For instance, one slot is wide enough to hold two 2nd Generation iPads in their cases, another slot easily holds my laptop, and the front slot can hold three phones or another iPad. I purchased the Anker PowerPort 5 charging hub and stowed it away in the base of the stand. It fits perfectly.I purchased the PowerPort 5 because it would fit nicely into the Great Useful Stuff Bamboo Electronics holder and charging station. My review can be found at this link https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R34454F1D86XGU?ref_=glimp_1rv_cl.As the name implies, I'm able to have 5 cords plugged into it and all electronics are charging perfectly. The tangled mess of cords that was previously dropping from the electronics to the plug have now been replaced by the one single cord to the Anker PowerPort. You will find some short charging cords to purchase on the Amazon site, but I was able to use the longer originals and just tuck the excess under the handy elastic straps that come attached to the interior of my charging station. The charging station isn't necessary to love this PowerPort. It does it's job well and is small and unobtrusive.
not reliable
October 18, 2015
I bought 2 of these, one for myself and one as a gift. Worked great for a few days. One morning I turned on my phone, it hadn't charged. My tablet hadn't charged either. Unplugged the unit, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in and it charged fine. A week later, again, not charging. Unplugged and re-plugged and again it worked. This has now happened 3 times in about 2 1/2 weeks. Sorry, I need something more reliable than this. Returning both of them. Glad I hadn't given the one I bought as a gift yet.Update...This company has by far the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, maybe on the whole planet! They sent me a new unit. I experienced problem with the cord being lose, which I then figured out was why the first one was wonky. They then sent me 2 new cords. That was about a week ago and so far, so good. This cord seems to fit tighter and doesn't disengage if the unit gets moved. So, don't hesitate to atleast give this a try. I believe the company will move heaven and earth to make a customer happy.another update...I have had no problem with this since they sent me a replacement.
Plenty of power for fast charging, great small size and only takes up one plug on the wall.
August 27, 2015
I own the 60W, 6 USB port and decided I needed another for my lab to power things like Arduino boards and my Raspberry Pi 2, and charge my phone and iPad when they get low without having to take them back downstairs to charge them. I was surprised on the size difference, I didn't expect the 5 USB port with one less port then my 6 USB to be that much smaller, but it is. The 5 port is so small they provide 3M adhesive Velcro so you can stick it under your desk. I recently was powering my Rasberry Pi 2 with my 60W, 6 port and accidentally shorted the 5V pin out with the ground pin and the Pi turned off. I couldn't get it to come back on and thought I fried it. If you don't know about the Pi it's a small development computer with open pins for running and controlling other things and it's easy to short something by mistake. I saw that my iPhone and iPad were still charging so I didn't think it was the USB power block. Then I remembered reading something about a short cut off protection built into the IQ system on the these, so I unplugged it from the one USB port and plugged it into another and the computer came back one. So the one port was still off and then I remembered reading about how to reset it. You just unplug it from the wall for 10 seconds and plug back in. So I did just that and all the ports came back to life. That's when I realized that the IQ short protection probably saved my little computer from permanent damage, and also maybe saved my other things plugged in charging also. Most shorts will back feed and could damage other things charging also plugged into the other USB ports. If it didn't have the IQ protection I could have damaged 3 iPhones and a iPad I had charging, and I just got done fixing them also.I know, in most cases you won't be shorting out anything because you won't be charging or powering something with open pins like a Rasberry Pi, but sometimes electronics them self will fail and short out and could backfeed into the circuit damaging other devices charging. This could save the other things also plugged in and charging if it was to happen. This was a nice feature to have and probably saved me from having to repair or buy new things. It's not the kind of protection I expect from something that costs as low as this, but I'm glad it had it and has the 18 month warranty. Anker has not disappointed me and I own 2 USB power blocks, a Bluetooth keyboard, a multi size pack of micro USB cables, and a 10,000 mAh USB portable power battery pack. The best way I know to describe the size is its almost exactly the same size as a pack of cigarets.
The Family That Charges Together...
June 7, 2015
Possibly the last charger you will ever need!We went out of town this weekend, and this was the only charger I needed. I could charge my Tablet, Phone, and Watch, and still have the ability to charge my daughter's and wife's phone! I love that it is so convenient. The PowerIQ tech built in means that you don't have to worry about having the right charger...it senses and adjusts to charge your device as fast as it can. And the fact that it uses standard USB ports means that you can easily swap devices as necessary (you aren't stuck with a useless charge when Apple changes cables on the next device :-).3 Tips:1. I have 3... I put one behind my bedside table, one behind my wife's. and a third that travels with me. That way I don't have to tear everything up when we travel!2. Get high quality USB Cables. I've ordered the cheap cables before, and learned that my devices take forever to charge. I invested a little more in the Anker cables, and my devices charge many times faster. Definitely worth a few extra bucks.3. I got long cables for home, and shorter for travel. The longer cables at home let me charge my devices anywhere on my bedside table I'd like. However, this charger has plenty of extra cable on it, so when I travel, I go for the 3' cables to save space. So far, I haven't found anything wrong with this charger. It has a nice, quality feel, seems to charge quickly, and will charge anything I've tried! Anker sent me one of these to review, but I believe in them enough that I've got 2 others! Definitely recommend.

Excellent for home use, indispensable for travel
February 14, 2017
Excellent for home use, indispensable for travel. This hub can charge multiple devices simultaneously, with the quick charge port expediting the most urgent charging need. At home it can eliminate multiple bulky AC plugs; when traveling it handles 120/210v input and converts to your device's needs. With your own set of USB charging cables, this hub is the ideal travel mate for those with large mobile device charging requirements. For use outside the US (Asia, Europe), consider getting the appropriate adapter; this hub ships with a removable standard US Type A (2 prong, NEMA 1) and C7 plug. The one knock on this charging hub is that the AC plug into the unit comes off easily; there is no power indicator so if the plug is loose or disconnected, no warning is visible. A locking clip would be ideal. After 10 months of constant use, this hub has proven reliable, handy, and indispensable. I'm confident enough in its usability that I have bought several for friends and family.
Reasonably priced, works as advertised, well made. Will buy again.

Material quality is good - doesn't look cheap; feels substantial in hand. Charges all my devices well - iPhones, iPads, iPods, and Android phones. Did not record charging times, as this is usually done overnight. The few times I paid some attention, I noticed that it does charge slower than the original charges from Apple iPhones (based on rate of percentage increased displayed on the phones.) Overall I am happy with this purchase as it gives me convenience especially when traveling. The power cord is sufficiently long, though it does add some bulk for travel. I am new to the Anker brand as this is the second product I own (the other is a 7-port USB 3 hub that is awesome), and I am gaining confidence in this brand. Both products are well made.
Pretty good, but not for audio (or so it seems)
November 26, 2016
Purchased two of these to free up some space in a corner where we have lots of USB powered devices (plus and extra for another room), as the existing powerstrip had become over run by USB chargers. So, from that perspective, this unit is great as I now have 4 less USB chargers on my power strip. It is solid, and has nice touches such as double sided adhesive foam for mounting the unit, as well as an extra velco cable organizer (the power cord also has one which makes for two total). Very well thought out.It is now currently powering an JBL Flip3 BT speaker, Fire HD, Galaxy Note 3, and was powering an Echo Dot JBL Flip3.I had to remove the Echo Dot as when it was connected to the PowerPort, the speaker was introducing quite a bit of noise, and I tested using the second PowerPort and the same thing happened. Not sure why the EchoDot would introduce noise like that...but it does not appear to be the fault of the Anker.
Perfect if you need some charging slots
November 16, 2016
Does exactly what it's supposed to. No issues with any of my devices nor cables. I have not tried it with something like a laptop that charges over USB type C, but it's handled a couple of tablets and phones with ease.I needed some charging slots at work, so I attached a couple pieces of adhesive-backed velcro and stuck it to my cube wall, slightly behind a monitor. I can easily connect cables and charge anywhere on my desk.Unrelated to the product itself, I think this is the first time I've opened a box and thought "Hey, this is really nice packaging". Everything was compactly packed, but easy to get out.
Has one job and does it well.
October 1, 2016
It's handy to have a portable charger for up to 5 USB devices, and this one is a great deal. I've purchased other Anker devices, and they stood up to their claims. This device has one job, charging devices, and it seems to do it well. It's also small, lightweight, with a fairly long cord to plug into the power. It's not meant to be a USB hub; it only charges devices. Be aware of that before purchasing. I'd give it five stars if it was designed for in car use as well. Maybe that's unfair of me, but for the price, I'm sure they could include a cord that plugs into a car outlet.
Excellent Charger, Doesn't have any indicator lights
June 30, 2016
I travel a bit, and I have a couple devices that I need to charge. Occasionally I'll have a companion who also needs to charge their devices, so with this device, I'll have a couple extra ports left. It feels very well built, it's reasonable in size, and I can get cheap cables for it anywhere in the world. I always make sure that I use chargers that are UL Certified, to ensure quality; this is advertised as such, but I couldn't verify it personally.Chargers with fixed prongs add a lot of bulk to the wall, so they sometimes won't fit behind nightstands, or can be really bulky if paired with an international socket adapter. This has a detachable cable which is a nice convenience. My biggest gripe with this product, is that there is no way of knowing if it has power, as there is no indicator LEDs of any kind. If for some reason your device is not charging, it makes it a lot harder to diagnose where the issue is. If the light was on, then the issue would be between the charger and mobile device; if the light was off, the issue is between the the charger and the wall socket.

It would have been nice to have that documented somewhere
May 23, 2016
It works ok. I haven't used it much. One of the ports failed, and there wasn't documentation anywhere that explained that if the port is unplugged and replugged in that it reboots. It would have been nice to have that documented somewhere, or a switch placed somewhere.
Great, but they do tend to fail.
April 2, 2016
These are very useful and I've purchased at least three of these over the years, along with several battery powerpacks from Anker. All the charger powerports I've purchased and powerpacks have ultimately failed at some point. Usually one or two ports will stop working after a few monts. I don't worry too much about it since I rarely have more than three or four items plugged into the powerport at one time. Just don't be surprised if they fail.
Failed to last longer than a month!!!!
November 10, 2015
Edit 11/15/2015:I contacted their customer service (who were VERY helpful, by the way) and they sent me a replacement charger which now works with most of my cables, but for some reason is not working with a few different mini-B cables that I own. I'm still in touch with their customer service trying to figure out the issue because the cables (iXcc, Cable Matters, and LG) all seem to work in a cheap charger I bought from Amazon a ways back. Unfortunately that old thing is huge and only has two outlets which does not suit my suite of electronic gadgets that now all charge with USB cables so this was the replacement.I will keep this updated as I find out more information. I do give praise to their customers service, though. So far they've earned 5-stars themselves!!!! Constant contact and still working to resolve what might be the issue.I bought this product to charge my phones, game controllers, and multiple devices that need constant charging and after a month of use it decided to stop charging altogether. I've tried plugging it into different outlets, using different output cables and nothing has worked. Was nice for the first month... until the return period was over per Amazon's return policy. I'm disappointed in Anker because most of their products have worked just fine in the past, but this product failed me in my time of need at almost $20!!!
So Far So Good Except Samsung Note 2
October 19, 2015
I love having this device to charge multiple things with. It saves outlets! It works fine for my iPhone 5, 6, iPad Mini 2, Pebble Watch, and Nexus 7 FHD tablet. Unfortunately for me it DOES NOT WORK with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The charge indicator goes on but it will not charge at the necessary amperage so power ends up slowly depleting. Plugged in the charger that comes with the phone and it charges it right up, no problems. So if you have a Note 2, 3 or 4, watch it, this may not help you.
Kind of cheap and ships from China
September 7, 2015
It ships from China and takes forever to get to other countries. The device itself seems to work fine, but it feels like it is made of cheap plastic. The box had no branding markings or otherwise so I assume this is an individual or small company making these chargers at an extremely low cost in China.I will update this review if the device fails before the end of this year. For the price I expected much better.
Sort of Weak
September 5, 2015
Not 100% sold here. It charges my Samsung phone just fine but on my iPad Air (1st gen) I get a "not charging" status most of the time. Plugged the same cable into an Apple USB wall plug and it charges fine. I suspect the amp output on this unit is very low. Would recommend checking amp outputs when comparing to other chargers.

This is my second purchase. Did't work as the first one. Returning.
It's fair to poor customer service on a good day.
January 26, 2017
Anker products are ok and hit and miss. They have good products and work well sometimes but their service dept can be rather rude and impersonal. Just hope the products you buy aren't lemons otherwise good luck, you may need a special notes from your mom :)., seriously they are ok and wouldn't recommend unless you are one of those customer who will Never like to return any defective items.
Disappointing.
January 15, 2017
Disappointed. This cannot charge a phone and tablet at the same time, with high speed charging. Devices will state that they are connected to a low-power charger.
Good at 4. Bad at 5
September 27, 2016
4 ports work great. When the 5th port is used it dose not produce a study charge. The iPad notification charging chime repeats over and over, every second due to the inconsistent charging. Not what I was hoping for when I purchased these.
Small, Looks Great, But Very Very Slow Charging
October 21, 2015
While this is fine for charging low-current devices like a Kindle or old phone (like the Samsung S3 Mini), it's incredibly slow for charging devices that require 2 amps of power. For example, my HTC One and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 would barely charge; it would take a full 24 hours to get up to full battery from a state of being dead, while using the original chargers that came with the devices could charge it in ~6 hours. This happens whether there's just one device plugged in or five. I'm definitely not getting 2 amps out of the ports as claimed. Not sure if I have a defective item and hopefully your luck will be better, but this was definitely disappointing for me.
The power blinks on and off continually (which has to be doing bad things to my electronics)
October 14, 2015
I bought one of these and it worked so well in my home office that I purchased a second one for my office office. First, for the type of product it is, there are numerous choices available from a variety of sellers and manufacturers. But this one took nearly a month to be delivered; when there are so many alternatives, that's way too long to wait. As well, the second one just flat-out did not work. The power blinks on and off continually (which has to be doing bad things to my electronics). For such a simple product, to have 1 out of 2 not work says volumes about the quality. I give 2 stars for the one I have at home that works great reduced by the one that doesn't work at all.

Have barely used 1 month and not charging all devices. 2 different iPads don't show as charging when plugged into this charging port. When I use same cable in original wall charger, it's fine. Should have returned within 30-day period when it showed signs of being temperamental.

Not as expected
October 19, 2015
Very disappointed. Have another anker product I love so I expected the same, unfortunately that was no the case. I received a faulty product. I charged it as directed the day before I went camping but when I tried to use it on my trip it didn't charge my device. Since the power port has no indication that it is indeed charging and it doesn't have anything to show how much battery power is left, I had no idea. Besides this one being faulty, I wouldn't purchase it again based on the fact that there's no indication of anything on the port.
