Cute teapots that work
July 24, 2017
These are perfect for a small crew. Comfortably four to six cups at a time and since it is healthier not to re-boil water, just fill it again when needed. I bought two--one just for me and one for others. They are petite enough to sit together on tge cooktop.
Love this plain old little teapot
June 18, 2017
It's not fancy or anything - just a tiny little teapot - but I love it. it works well and is the only teapot I haven't destroyed. I think the whistle is the key. This one has a pretty loud whistle and I hear it as soon as it starts.
Perfect size
May 23, 2017
This is the perfect size for a camper, trailer, boat or small apartment. It makes just the right amount of hot water for one or two for tea or whatever. Very durable and all parts are well made.
Best TeaKettle Money Can Buy.
April 7, 2015
Ah yes TEA POT. This Farberware Classic Stainless Steal Teakettle is FABULOUS. It is smaller than your regular metal tea pots that are painted different colors that rust on the inside of wear the spout is on the inside. This Teakettle is all Stainless Steal. No one can say they would not like it. I love the handle that is firm on the kettle and does not move around. I like the way the spout stem is made. I do not have to take a pot holder and remove cap. The cap on this Farberware kettle lever comes back and pouring hot water in bowl for cereal, or cup of tea etc more manageable than any other teakettle. And the Price is Dinomite.
This is a pretty awesome tea kettle
March 6, 2015
This is a pretty awesome tea kettle. Because of the design the fill line is on the outside so you have to pay attention. I, unfortunately, did not pay attention the first time around and water went spurting out of the hole when the water boiled. However, this is a great tea pot and you cannot beat the price! Also, I'm not sure if the description stated it or not but this works on my induction cooker which is a great plus!
Does the job well
April 21, 2014
I need a boiler to produce hot water for tea-making. This metal teakettle is perfect for that purpose. The first few times the whistle didn't seem to work very well. But after a few uses, it is loud and clear when the water is boiling. No undesirable flavors added to the water, because the inside is purely metal.

Works fine for me.
June 15, 2017
Not bad for the price I paid for it... When I purchased mine, it was under $10. Still, I'd probably get it again even though it is almost double what I paid for it.It's just right for one or two people. Not too big, not too small. My wife and I use it daily, several times a day since I got it in October of 2015. We don't dry it off in between uses, so it does have a couple spots that are slightly discolored that could be rust starting to form, but that is to be expected. Stainless does not mean rustproof or corrosion proof like some people here seem to think.
Bottom warped a little so it rocks back and forth while heating.
May 17, 2017
Got this as a gift for a friend. The bottom warped a little so that it rocks back and forth as it heats. We joke about it, but we are college students. In a different setting, it would be quite annoying.
Can i pour you a tiny cup of tea?
April 5, 2017
This is a MINI tea pot! The good news is, it heats the water faster because there's less water to heat!
Loud little kettle
March 4, 2017
arch 2, 2017Loud noises while heating! It's a tiny tea pot, cute and perfect for a two cup if you like mugs.Problem is... it's as loud as hell while heating up.I'm using a gas stove, the lower heat makes less noise. It just takes longer. It does whistle :)
Perfect for the Price
May 17, 2015
Other reviews mentioned the whistle not being loud enough but I could hear it fine from the next room. The only issue I have is the handle gets rather warm but nothing a dish towel can't fix. i consider it a great steal for the price
good for the price
November 30, 2013
It is ok for the price, but one can see that it is not an high quality item.Anyway, it boils water, it whistle, it pours. For the low price I can't complain.Notice that the handle get very hot if you bring the water to a full boiling, that's probably due to the small size of the kettle, which leaves the handle close to the heat.

Smaller than expected but heats quickly.
A little disappointed..
August 14, 2015
A little disappointed... the kettle was not sturdy and the lid did not rest securely in place without a lot of help. It also did not whistle unless the lid rested securely in place.....like, I had to hold it down.... and even then, it was a weak whistle.. I bought this to have at my daughter's, so that I wouldn't have to worry about the pot boiling down without me realizing.... we old folks need that whistle!!But, I guess the price should have led me to revise my expectations.
It's great for making a quick cup of tea
May 15, 2015
It's great for making a quick cup of tea. Construction, however, is very light, very thin. If you are making tea for two, be careful. As soon as it starts to whistle, it will begin to spit so you have to grab it fast. It's more suitable for a single cup. It is definitely serving its purpose but I am looking for something with a little more weight and able to handle its capacity without spewing all over my stove. In any case, I didn't pay much for it so I can't expect much!
Very cute and functional, but the handle gets HOT!
January 14, 2014
I love Farberware and was very happy to receive this teakettle. Please note that the 1.3 quart is TINY... it looks more like a mini-kettle. But it's perfect for making 2-3 cups at a time and that's it. It boiled quickly, whistled successfully, but please be careful when going to grab the handle - it is HOT!! I know, I know....this may seem like a given with a boiling teapot. But the handle gets almost just as hot as the stainless steel. You def have to let it sit for a few minutes or use a towel when handling. This would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the burning handle. Otherwise, it's great!

Honey, I shrunk the teakettle.
August 7, 2017
I have had good luck with Farberware in the past but this did not meet my expectations of their products. The quality seems cheap and the thing is tiny. The whistle is barely audible and the steam shoots out almost everywhere but the steam hole. Good luck opening it as the thumb opener will be shrouded in a steamy mist. Ouch, and thank you for that sadistic pleasure Farberware. I bought it used so I only paid 6 bucks which is about 4 bucks more than it's worth imo.

Much smaller than expected.
Not the best quality - handle gets too hot
March 1, 2015
When I first bought this a few months, I did not think it was too bad of a product, but not it is having some problems. For one, when you fill it more than halfway full of water, the handle becomes very hot, and I cannot even pick it up without a glove on. Secondly, the noise level goes from no sound to very high pitched screaming in literally one second. I had a bigger tea pot that was not as loud, so I am not sure why this one is. Finally, Sometimes the top pops off in the middle of the water heating, which makes it so the pot does not whistle as it comes to a boil.Overall, this was a bit of a disappointment, but I guess that is what I should expect for the price I paid.
Cheap
May 14, 2014
This things works....it does heat up water and whistle....however, it is most assuredly NOT stainless steel as we've only had this thing a little over a month and there is rust inside the kettle. Junk.
Plastic around spout melted on first use.
March 22, 2014
The product looks to be well made, bright shiny stainless, nice sturdy handle, flip up spout. It's a bit smaller than I had elected, though able to hold about five cups of water at max fill line.I had a pot that looked similar to this one --which last me years however it was a different brand. On first use I filled pot to max fill line, put on a medium sized gas burner on high heat, and removed the pot promptly when whistling first began. I flipped open the spout and decanted this into a ceramic teapot, filled with cool water, and put back on the burner immediately. My five year olds have never heard a teapot whistle, and so the second time it started to whistle I turned down the heat to simmer and struggled to get my son away from his new video game to hear the sound --which took me about 60-120 seconds. I then removed pot from heat. Some 20 minutes later I went to warm some new water ... the plastic at the bottom part of the spout was warped, more than simply a bit distorted some of the plastic had melted from under the entire spout and built up to the same thickness as the rest of the spout and covers and extends past the metal spout.Maybe it's necessary to stand over the kettle and remove instantly... maybe you simply can't boil back to back kettles. I've had low end toasters melt a bit like this and I wont stand for something this high maintenance and cheap. Surely some other company's product uses high temp resistant materials on a product meant to contain boiling water. This is being returned. I'll be shopping for higher quality kettle even if it costs three times as much.
whistle?
December 15, 2013
It is ok I wanted a smaller kettle. It is smaller but if you want a kettle to whistle...this may not be the one for you/

A BAD BUY!
January 20, 2016
I hardly found any pros of the product apart from its exterior look. Can only be used to decorate your kitchen cabinet.Cons:1. The opening of the kettle is very small, you really need a small hand to clean it.2. The handle is not flexible. So it gets very hard to open the lid while it is hot on the stove top. If you still do that, almost surely you are going to get burns.3. A very unscientific way of designing a kettle. The gap between the lid and handle is very less, which makes it all the more difficult given that the handle is fixed.4. Don't buy the steel mesh with the product, as suggested. There's no way you can hook the mesh to the kettle to brew tea. Don't fall PREY!
Just OK - very small and thin stainless
October 15, 2015
I had an old Farberware Brooklyn 2 1/2 qt. teakettle that I had for 20+ years and it was a great teakettle. Well made, substantial stainless steel, loud whistling mechanism, good capacity. By contract, this current model is much smaller ( 1.3 qt.), very, very thin stainless steel, fairly, quiet whistle, odd plastic smell, difficult to clean. The cost was minimal, it just has to boil water, so can't really expect more, but I would gladly pay more for a well made teakettle. Farberware used to make quality items, this item not so much.I've noticed as well that it is not on their web site.Update: After a couple of weeks of usage perhaps 5-6 cups of tea a day - the outgassing plastic smell is still apparent when the teapot is heated. - I have filled it according to directions and when it starts to whistle, I remove it from the electric burner - it has not been abused in any way. This is a teakettle, it is supposed to be able to boil water without outgassing some sort of unpalatable plastic smell. I would not reccomend.
Cheap yes, but still not worth it!
July 18, 2015
It's a cheap tea kettle and it is obvious why. This is the noisiest tea kettle EVER, I assume because the metal is so thin. From the moment the heat comes on, it is hissing and popping and grunting. Ironically though, it never whistles! You have to watch for stream coming out of the spout to know if it's ready. The handle will heat up to an uncomfortable temperature if you let it get to the boiling point. I rarely do though because I can't take the racket to get to that point. I hate using this kettle and I can't even say it's good enough for the money I spent. This should be in the Dollar Store. I expect this kind of quality from China, not the US.
At least it's funny
May 2, 2014
I had a small Farberware teakettle for years. Until my husband burned it on the stove. This looked like the nearest replacement. But no. The metal is so thin, cardboard would be heavier. The removable top has razor-sharp edges and the opening is barely two inches wide - no hand or sponge can fit in to clean it. It didn't look safe to boil water in so I threw it away. Sadly, Farberware now belongs strictly in the Dollar Store.
RUSTED AFTER ONLY A FEW USES!!
January 22, 2014
PLEASE KEEP SHOPPING!! This little tea kettle seemed like a nice buy but, it turned out not to be a case.the inside started to rust after only a few uses CMON!! its supposed to hold water!!and no I did not let water sit I would empty what was not used.I suggest you spend more money & get a kettle you can enjoy for longer than a month.
Barely audible whistle, watery mess on stovetop
December 10, 2013
The size is right, but I bought it to make an alarming and annoying whistle, which it doesn't. It does, however, make an annoying watery mess on the stovetop. Faberware USED to be a reliable product, but it has gone the way of all outsourcers.
