Love love this oven
July 5, 2017
Love love this oven ! The only downfall is the timer sound is kinda quiet. Not so good for hearing impaired folks. I've had this oven for 6 months now with nothing but praise !
Love It!

Fantastic range, everything I was wanting in a new stove.
Amazing Oven, You Won't be Sorry.
July 24, 2016
We have had this for a year now. It is fantastic. I was a little concerned when I read the reviews, but decided to buy anyway. For the person who could not bake cookies, I don't know what to say. This over gets hot and cooks very fast. Two choices are either conventional or convection. The convection is 25 degrees less but heats at 25 higher. By that I mean if you would use 350 degrees in a normal oven, you type this on this oven, and it actually uses 325 degrees. I can use metal and foil inside. The inside cobalt blue color is so pretty. There was another review about being able to use burners only high or low. That is not true. You hit high or low and it starts at the highest or lowest temperature. Then you can use the arrows to increase or decrease the temperature from there. It does not come with a cord, so I purchased one because I want a new one. I could have used the one from the old oven, but opted for the new cord. To know which one to get. Look at your current oven and unplug it, then count the prongs. You need a 3 or a 4 prong based on the socket in your wall. Hope this helps you out. This is an outstanding oven and it was so much cheaper on Amazon from Best Sales.
Love this range

Love this range. I came from gas and was concerned with response time. Both burners and oven heat quickly and evenly. Looks great, cleans easily. Oven tends to retain more moisture than my old gas oven, so I need to step back for a few moments before swooping in to get food out.
LOVE it.

I got this stove the week before Thanksgiving. So far I love it! I baked all the pies and rolls and all the rest of the items we served this year (DH cooks the turkeys outside) With 4 shelves I was able to serve all the food hot.

NICE
September 15, 2016
I purchased this fireplace last summer and though I tried, could not make myself "love it." So, I returned it a few days later. Can't put my finger on what I didn't like, but it bothered me for such a nice, fireplace. Anyway, put it out of my mind until it went on sale this week (July 2017) for a little over $30.So, I decided that the price was so good, I was going to buy it again. (Never did figure out why I was so disposed to dislike it last year..?)And I just received it this afternoon and WOW, it is nice. I must of been OUT OF MY MIND because this stove is beautiful!! It is very bright, the flames are lovely and the logs, literally, "twinkle."Have it in my parlor and could not be happier with it.
I studied many heaters online and I'm very happy with this purchase
December 2, 2015
This is the second Dimplex heater I have purchased. Heats up my entire 240 square foot Tiny cabin. So cute. All metal except for plastic legs. This is needed to avoid the floor from getting too hot. Front is plastic not glass. However you can't tell unless you tap on it. This makes it easier to lift and move around.I studied many heaters online and I'm very happy with this purchase. This isn't too plain or too fancy, it's just right. It puts out a quiet gentle sound like white noise. And can be romantic and fun, too. We use it all year around for the ambiance of flickering flames without the use of heat.
Stylish heater you can leave out year around!
February 2, 2015
If you are looking at fireplace heaters, check how many amps your plugs have. If you go to your breaker box on the tips of the black switches are numbers that tell you how many amps you have. My plugs were 15 amps and this fireplace/heater has a high/low setting. I read you should only use 80% of your amps for any length of time and on high this uses 12 amps (don't forget to add your TV, lights, etc. in your number). On the low setting I should be able to run the heater and be safe. The heater puts out a lot of heat even on the low setting for our master bedroom. The bulb did burn out after the first usage, but I had a 25 walt chandelier bulb at home that actually works very well until I get to the store to buy a 60 walt bulb for replacement. When I went to replace the bulb the glass broke off and I had to use needle nose pliers to remove the bulb.I followed another reviewers suggestion and went to the hardware store and bought stamped brick pavers (x6) to put under the heater as I have a longer shag carpet…just to be safe. One reviewer said it caused burn marks on her wood floor.
Beautiful, comforting and a great price!
December 7, 2014
Way nicer than I expected! It looks like it's made of cast iron. The sides are metal, top is a heavy plastic. Totally cool to the touch so safe for my pets. My cat has actually been sitting on top of it while it's on!The heat it puts out is pretty amazing. It warmed my living room 5 degrees in less than an hour! The fan is very quiet - like a very hushed wind. The fire effect is beautiful. No clue how they do it but it's VERY convincing.Came completely assembled - just lift out of the box and plug in.Just read that "the cost to operate is 1 cent per hour with flame only and 8 cents per hour with flame and heat." That is so much cheaper than using the 1960's baseboard heater in my living room so I'm sure this will help save me quite a bit of money this winter! Plus if I want I can pick it up and move it into my bedroom at night.
Little Charmer
December 2, 2013
This little space heater is such a treat. I find it a nice room warmer, and it has a cheery visual that warms the heart. Four feet away from my feet and I can feel a gentle warmth. My dog is curled up in front of it (he thinks Christmas came early). Straight from the box it is ready to plug in, nothing to assemble. It gets right to work making short work of a winter chilled room. This is a great little item for a tiny apartment. My apartment is only 550 square feet. I have no wall that isn't take up by something. I was able to set it 6" from my bookcase. I like the metal structure. It does not strike me as cheap. It is about 30 pounds and feels sturdy. During the summer the little unit fits in a closet. Before you buy a boring, industrial space heater, take a look at this little charmer.
Small, Cute & More Powerful than you think!
November 3, 2012
I was skeptical about this heater when I bought it. Usually really good heaters have to look more utilitarian, industrial and not so compactly designed. This little heater is a powerhouse. I used it on low for the first few weeks I had it; barely raised the electric bill two dollars. The cat sits right at the vent; I suppose missing the fireplace at our last house. Then I discovered the high button, flipped that and WHOA doggie, more like a furnace than a space heater. I enjoy this heater so much, I hesitate to mention a drawback, but for those of you with flexibility issues, the on/off/high/low buttons are located waa-ay down at the bottom on the right side. It's very sturdy, self-contained, child safe [nothing to open, nothing loose], cat/dog safe QUIET heater. I love it!

Awesome Range! Love it
August 13, 2015
We have had this range for about a year now. The top is very easy to clean if you use the right cleaner. I use Cerama Bryte and it works great. I haven't tried the self cleaning feature yet. I'll update when I do try that. I use the stainless steel oil cleaner on the stainless steel parts and it keeps them from showing finger prints. I truly love this range and haven't had a single problem out of it since we got it.
love this stove!
November 23, 2014
This would have been a 5 star rating but it didn't come with a plug. We had to go out, buy a plug and hardwire it in. If it said somewhere in the fine print that it didn't come with a plug then I guess that's my bad. Other than that minor inconvenience I LOVE this stove. I couldn't believe how easy it was to clean up the oven after a spill inside! Very happy with the purchase!

Nice little heater and warm air comes out bottom, which is great since heat rises
February 26, 2017
This is a great little stove. It doesn't look realistic because the logs look fake, but the flame is pretty. Maybe they will make better logs in the future. It puts out a nice amount of heat and I like that the heat comes from the bottom. A lot of these heaters send the heat out from the top so if you are sitting on the floor next to them or on a low chair, the heat goes over your head instead of warming your legs and middle. The only thing I would change would be to add wheels or legs that are smooth on the bottom so it slides more easily. We have one with wheels and it's so convenient to reposition. Of course, a remote would be nice too, but I am happy with this as is for warming up a little area while I read or watch tv.
Very very basic unit.
December 6, 2016
I actually bought this for the fan unit. It's ten dollars cheaper than buying a replacement heater/blower part for the CS3311. For the melting problem: do NOT sleep with your feet and blankets against the unit. You WILL have a fire, because this unit has no thermostat or tip switch on it. NEVER use an extension cord. NEVER use an outlet or breaker with other things connected to it, you WILL overload the circuit. You SHOULD buy a thermostat to use with this unit. Just my opinion.
We have two of these!
May 17, 2016
This is a great heater, it is small, out of the way. However the only reason it is getting four stars is because when you first turn it on, there is a weird smell and you have to use it for a day or so for it to go away. Other than that it's perfect and we have two!

December 16, 2014
Just received my heater / fireplace today (2 days thanks to Prime). So far I love it. Plugged it in and it took off and looks great! It did give off a smell at first (as stated in the manual) but it only lasted a few minutes. Most likely oil residue from manufacturing. I saw that some people complained about the bulb burning out and Amazon didn't sell replacements. According to the manual it's a standard 60W candelabra bulb that you can get at any hardware store so that's a plus in my book. Overall I love it and it's way easier than a true fireplace!
You can't get a better flame effect for this price
March 18, 2014
Having researched many electric fireplaces and "stoves", it is my opinion that Dimplex has the best flame effects. This stove is no exception. The flame effect is very realistic, especially for this price. In addition, the stove enclosure is sturdy and high quality, and everything came packaged in thick styrofoam and arrived in perfect condition. I purchased this stove mainly for its small size (it fits perfectly in my small faux fireplace) rather than its heating ability, but the heater actually puts out a reasonable amount of heat on the high setting--just don't expect it to heat a large room on its own.My only complaint is that the heater is loud. The fireplace is nearly silent when operating without the heater, but even on the low setting, this stove makes the characteristic buzzing of metal heating coils. The noise is significant enough for me to dock a star. If you are counting on silent operation, I would look elsewhere. However, if you can tolerate a bit of noise or want this primarily for the flame effect, you can't go wrong!
Good but not perfect
February 2, 2013
This heater is awesome for the most part. It has worked great for months and heats a big room by about 5 degrees more than without the heater. It is also a lot cheaper than turning up electric central heat. It is pretty light and portable. The flame is kind of cool but a little cheesy looking. My biggest complaint, and this is half my fault, is that the little plastic lip at the bottom of the heater bends easily. More specifically, I like to heat my feet by resting them on this lip while the heater is on and I noticed after a few days that it had bent from the heat and the weight of my feet and will NOT bend back. So if you want a heater that is good value, heats well, and lowers your electric bill get this one but don't rest your feet on the lip like I did. Also if you're looking for a realistic flame, buy a gas fireplace not a cheap heater.

Nice, but could be better
April 26, 2015
The heater part of this unit is quiet and puts out nice even heat, but it has NO thermostat - an oversight that needs to be corrected. The 'fireplace' part of this unit is OK, but the 'fireback' part of the unit is partially mirrored and reflects too much light and reflections from the room. It does add depth to the fire box, but it detracts from the flame effect (it sort of washes it out). The flame effect "spinner" is fairly decent, but sort of repetitious, and is readily detectable as light beams scroll across the faux logs. . . real log coals flicker, they don't move across the log. The logs are a bit too glowing all over, and could be a little more realistic looking. I'll probably black out some of the too-bright-all-over-burning-ember-look. It's not heavy MDF, so easily moved if needed. All told, it appears to be solidly made, and could be a nice product, if some minor improvements were made.
I Love Amazon. Why Would Anyone Shop Anywhere Else :-)
December 30, 2014
Came yesterday afternoon, right on the estimated day, but originally was between Jan 2-6th, FANTASTIC service. Why would anyone shop anywhere else :-). Fits exactly where I wanted it, on our fireplace hearth in front of the Glass fireplace screen. I got freakin tired of all our NO BURN days here in N. Calif. Not to mention the cost of wood, Duraflame logs, whatever. This will allow me to just view a realistic looking flame. And this stove is so solidly build, a real winner IMO. You have to look twice to see it is NOT REAL.Well day two and unfortunately I am downgrading it from 5 to 2 star, maybe a bit drastic, but here's why. It arrived late afternoon on the 29th, so waited till yesterday morning to unbox it, handling it with kid gloves. The box arrived unscathed so was confident all was fine. I used it for the first time yesterday evening for maybe 2>3 hrs. I went to turn the light (Don't plan to ever use the heat with P.G.&E's electric rates) just before setting down to dinner this evening, and it came on briefly and then no light. Had power, because the heat & blower would come on, figuring like others the bulb blew out, BUT AFTER JUST ONE USE???!!! Went to Rite Aide nearby New Years Eve Knowing I'd pay an overpriced fee compared to WalMart, but WalMart is not that nearby, Rite is close, buying a package of 4. Now this model is very easy to get to the bulb, just 5 screws on a back lower panel, & the bulb is right there. The bulb was not just burnt out, but had come apart, broken at the base, maybe from rough Post office handling, not sure, but the box was in EXCELLENT condition(??) Had to figure out how to get the base out, carefully using a needle nose plier, of course unplugged. This old retired telco technician is not as dumb as I look. This item should at least come with one spare bulb. Maybe it had been over tightened at the factory, not sure about that either. I hate downgrading it so much, BUT ONE EVENING USE, COME ON!!!!!!!!!Latest update after 9 evenings use now, and am also upgrading the STARS>>I have been using mine for 9 evenings yesterday since getting it and had a similar problem as another, with the bulb going out just after the first evenings use. Bought some spares at a nearby store, and opened the lower back panel up (Very easy), also finding the bulb cracked away from its' base, obviously from overly rough treatment from the USPS, delivery woman, that wasn't much taller than the box>>LOL>> but I do not have a cover over the bulb, and no reflector plate. There is plenty of air space for ventilation around the bulb, but a person with a large hand will have difficulty getting their hand in there to unscrew or screw another in, but doable. The bulb just screws into the socket that sits down in the plastic holder. Haven't had any problems since. Now I have three more spare bulbs (I bought 4, a better buy), but next time will look for these 40W (Equivalent to 60W), halogen bulbs that are enclosed in the same type of candelabra glass.
Meh.
November 15, 2014
Two years ago, we bought the CS33116A model, which is relatively perfect except that by the end of 1 winter season it had broke.Missing our very classy game room fireplace, we decided to replace it. At quick glance, this looks the same and was much cheaper, with good reviews, so I went for it.It's not awful, but it is woefully inferior to the one we had previously (well, except this one still works). It seems to do a decent job heating, but it's more ugly tacky than adorable tacky. It has about the same heating capacity as a $15 space heater by the way (just so you know what you're paying for).
Cute, adds ambience, not a lot of heat output.
January 2, 2014
This little heater is really cute to look at. The heat output is not very strong, and I can't really feel any difference between the 2 heat settings. The heat doesn't cycle on and off; it's continuously on, so I don't leave the heater on for extended periods of time. Still, it's cute for my dogs to nap next to and it warms up my feet when I stand right next to it.
meh.
December 29, 2013
it just... looks cheesy. i would have given it 3 stars if it wasn't for that aweful fake 'crackling fire' sound. which i can't turn off & wind up using the heater WAY less because of the sound. it just sounds like it's broken. the heater functions are fine, it takes a while to heat a room up. but, it gets there eventually. not really worth more than 30 bucks in my opinion. if i had heard it before buying it, i would not have bought it.note: turns out the heater isn't supposed to make a 'fake fire crackling sound', the one i received had a loose part in it which a friend looked at & helped me fix. to be fair - i changed the rating from 2 to 3 stars because without the sound it's way more pleasant & is pretty much what it's advertised to be. small, compact, ready to use right out of the box.
Disappointed In Flame & Logs Compared to My Other Dimplex
December 7, 2012
I already have a Dimplex fireplace/heater that I really have enjoyed. Can't remember the model number and I did pay more for it but it is bigger. The flame and logs are great on the one I already had, they look so real and the heater was a great way to warm up the toes quickly when they get bone cold. Decided I wanted one for my bedroom so decided to stay with Dimplex because of the one I had. This one arrived and it is nice and light weight. The size is good for a smaller room and the heater does work great. The biggest problem is the flame is not near as realistic looking as the one I already had, they are too large to be realistic. The ashes to the right look like 2 overly large hills/mounds and the mirror is weird. I should have looked for the model number on the one I already had but they may not even make it anymore. It really pays to see these in person so you can see the flames and logs, it does make a big difference. Also wish I would have purchased one with the remote control, that way if I start to drift off to sleep, I can just turn it off easily instead of getting out of bed and waking back up.I just purchased another one of these for my sister and her husband. I am surprised every person who does not have a fireplace does not have one of these. They absolutely love it! I have a larger one but due to the size cannot move it as easily. I prefer the logs and flame on it but this one is so nice and light weight that I can move it easily and it throws out quite a bit of heat. The logs and flames are growing on me now and I am happy I have mine and so happy my sister is thrilled with theirs. These are really a must for every room in the house. One customer sent in a picture of where theirs overheated. She does not mention how old her son was, since it was in his room when it happened. I also wonder if maybe something like a piece of clothing was not dropped in front of the heater part that may have blocked the flow of heat and caused the problem. I have not left mine on for long times but I did put it on 2 large pieces of marble/tile squares as a precaution and I feel it throws the heat out more, so appears to be very safe. Again, I highly recommend having one of these for the ambiance, the convenience, and the nice warm, close up heat. A remote control would be nice if you are in a bedroom and watching it while you fall asleep. That way you would not have to get out of bed to turn it off but just click it from where you are. Still, for the price, it is a nice unit.

Warning: Easy Clean Is NOT Self Clean
February 4, 2017
My husband wanted me to order a range and dishwasher to match a refrigerator we had just purchased while there was a sale, so I had to hurry in buying. I made sure the range and dishwasher would match the refrigerator, scanned the features, saw "Easy Clean" and assumed that was LG's version of self clean, and moved along.Well, guess what? It's not. It's nowhere close to self cleaning. It is a sucker punch, that's what it is. You're given a pump spray bottle that you fill with water and use to soak down the oven; then the oven just heats to about 200 degrees for 20 minutes and it is done. Yes, that's it! Then you have go in and not only clean it but first sop up all of that water that served no purpose whatsoever except to turn grease into a gummy mess that still won't come off. So you know what? You'd best not be cooking any meat in there, not with that convection fan in the back. Why on earth would LG do this?!I love the refrigerator and dishwasher. I wish I could say I love the range. The cooktop works well so far, and oven does have that pretty blue oven interior. But this "Easy Clean" has completely turned me off.
Door seal disintegrating
April 19, 2016
Door seal disintegrating, pic attached. The design of having to push a button and then hold down the button to increase the temp for a stove top burner is time consuming and the digital read out makes it difficult to set the temp. It was sooo much easier to just turn a dial ONE time to set the temp on my old stove. This stove is not for everyone. I contacted LG 3 times about the door seal with a reply that keeps asking where I purchased it and when. 3 times I sent them a pic of the reciept and the seal. No response if the seal is covered under warranty.
Convection is not good
April 8, 2016
The oven and the glass top on this range are great, but I bought this one because it also had a convection as well. I have used the convection a half dozen times and it's not a good convection. I used a GE Profile in a motor home for 5 years and fell in love with it. The fan is off and on all the time. This is not a true convection. My little travel trailer did not have an oven so I bought this lil Pro Waring Oven/convection and works like a true convection. LG will not admit this was a horrible design. When using the convection it takes longer to cook and food is dried out around the edges.

January 8, 2016
Hate it! The range settings are not low-high but in numbers. There is really no good way to interpret where you need to cook things based off this. I wish we never purchased this. It was an expensive buy that was a total mistake. Never again LG!
WARNING: DEFECTIVE GLASS DOOR
April 13, 2015
I bought this oven two weeks ago and up until yesterday only used the range top, which has been great; heats up fast, easy to clean, etc., which is why I gave it two stars despite the glass door defect. Yesterday, however, I preheated the oven to 450f degrees and roasted cauliflower for 13 minutes when suddenly the inner glass panel of the door shattered! Clearly the glass had not been tempered properly. Now there is glass everywhere inside the oven and Lowe's is sending somebody to "take a look" in a week. Great. Seems to be a manufacturing defect and mine is not the only one. After this happened last night I Googled this situation and found other owners with similar problems (cracked or shattered front door). I am just glad the glass didn't explode outward and hurt somebody. Buyer beware!
would love to give this LRE3083ST 5 stars, Beware LG Small burners not rated like other stoves..
June 5, 2014
LRE3083ST - great features. Would be a great stove, not so much if your a person who cooks for a family.I purchased this stove to replace a 20 year old GE. I really miss it now! After purchasing a French door refrigerator I decide to upgrade to this stove. Looked it over and like all the features the sizes, compared it to the others in the same class. Great cooking size for oven, convection, 4 burners, two small two large, great features... Looks great so I bought. Well, the small burners will not actively maintain a rolling boil(water and potato). So, I call LG support and I'm told sorry, the pans that work on other stoves and that I've cooked with for 15+, aren't rated to work on this stove. I'm sorry to say that my old stove really out performs this one. Yes, it's a 3 quart pan, boiling water/soup, but other stoves, seem to have no problem doing it on there small burners. Now cooking is a real pain in the neither regions. Now, I'm stuck with this piece of S&*%$ because I'm beyond the return time for this appliance! Be aware of that and try every option right away.

Received this item on 10/21/15. Haven't had much of a chance to use it often, as we have had an unusually warm winter; however the days I did use it, it provide ample warmth for my drafty office - except for today, 1-19-16 - the heater no longer is working. Ugh!Been sitting on hold with Dimplex Customer Service for a while.
ok but not great
October 5, 2015
I loved the idea of this little heater, as I totally miss real wood fires and I live in a place where I can't have one. Not long after purchasing this, it got really hot while running on the higher heat setting and popped a fuse inside or something. After that it would only work for a few minutes on high before it would pop and the heat would turn off completely, Then I'd have to wait for the unit to cool down before I could turn it on and use it again. It worked ok on the lower heat setting, but was disappointing that it didn't work as it should.
Unfortunately customer support is terrible if they even answer your call
January 3, 2015
Could it be worth it? Yes. Was it worth purchasing? No. I purchased this as a gift for my father in law and it broke 4 times in the 10 hours that he actually used it. The part that spins to creat the flam effect keeps falling off and the heater has stopped working numerous times. Unfortunately customer support is terrible if they even answer your call. I even purchased the extended warranty and I was told that they could not do anything except for replace it for 100 dollars which is more than I paid for the pile of crap. I give it two stars because while it worked it was great. The whole 2 minutes.
It heats very nice and looks great
December 17, 2014
An ok stove. It came packed in Styrofoam and the little tiny balls are all through the inside of the stove. When it is in use there is a definite really anoying sound. I don't know if its the motor or all the little balls inside. They are falling out all the time. I am hoping when they all come out the noise will stop ! It heats very nice and looks great. The noise is very disapointing

Broke just out of warranty - board problem - repair was half the cost of the unit!
March 15, 2017
We purchased this unit and were pretty happy with it overall, it was competitively priced. However, it broke 2 months out of warranty. That's when I found out how terrible LG customer support is. When you email them, you cannot follow your thread, but have to start all over again each time. The phone people cannot help much, and when I asked to speak to a manager, was disconnected, and never got a call back. I did my own problem determination, using the paper guide on the back of the unit, and this indicated the board was bad - one of the most expensive items!!Come to find out this is a common problem with many LG electric stoves! Service plan costs $400 - about the cost of the board, so after trying to get LG to replace for free or partial, we give up as it's close to Thanksgiving and have company arriving. LG contracts with a local company, who in turn subcontracts with another company. They guy arrives and fixes it in 15 minutes ... the connector to the board was bad from the factory (his assessment), he snips wire and puts on a new connector. So I just paid $400 for a .10 part!! Technician says LG have a lot of board problems. We tried to get LG to compensate us, but customer support refers us to warranty, who refer us back to customer support. After about ten phone calls I gave up - maybe that was their intent all along. LG used to be a good brand, but based on this product, and my interactions with them, we could not recommend any LG brand.
Danger!! Trim on oven gets to over 200 degrees and will burn you!
October 31, 2016
I purchased this range in black from a local retailer. The first time I used it (350 for 1 hr) I accidentally touched the trim that goes around the cooktop and meets the oven door. I pulled my hand away quickly and thought - man that's hot! The second time I baked, it happened again. I called LG and Carl in customer service told me to use caution and if I suffer a burn I can fill out a liability claim with them. He could not tell me how hot it should get. So I called the national consumer safety board and talked with them. There is a standard and this section of the range (it's a plastic part) should not go above 180 degrees. I purchased a infrared thermometer to test this . It is running over that and went as high as 200.3 degrees! This is outside the limits allowed for a freestanding range. I contacted the store I purchased it from and they will be out tomorrow to do their own test. I just hope I can return this. It is a danger to me and any family the would accidentally come in contact with it. I can not stress enough about how dangerous this is. And, LG could care less.

We bought this product two years ago and were happy with it until this Christmas Eve when I preheated an empty oven and suddenly heard a loud noise and saw flames in the oven. LG was completely unresponsive and absolutely unhelpful. This product is hazardous and the company is irresponsible. I will never purchase another LG product!
LG products are engineered to fall apart so they can make millions on spare parts.
October 30, 2015
LG products are made to wear out in a short time span, forcing the proud owner to pay for service call and/or purchase repair parts. the membrane panel on this oven will require replacement after just 2 years of service. The membrane alone costs $150 and LG has sold thousands of these. Dont be ripped off. Dont buy LG.
BAD INSULATION
October 9, 2015
Bought this range 14 months ago and recently on clean mode, the whole house filled with smoke. The oven was actually burning up the insulation. The repair man said it would cost over $500 to fix. The whole thing would need new insulation and the insulation cost $299 plus several hours of labor. Do not buy this range. LG is junk!
Horrible Oven temperature swing.
December 16, 2014
Bought this unit from Lowes 15 days ago. Tried to cook about 600 cookies yesterday for the airmen at eglin. The temperature swing was too great and could not get a stable temperature after 2 hours of warm up. I was trying to get and hold at 300F. The swing was 265 to 315F.You can hear relays clicking often. I thought technology would have prevailed into current ovens. I replace this with a 1972 GE oven that had a swing of 10F. and no relays. It should have electronic relays and a proportional temperature controller. I guess after 40 years no new technology on temperature control.I should have looked closer to its cheap regulation. I can not understand consumer reports giving this great ratings.

Not even worth the 1 star.

I ordered 2 of these stoves. I gave one as a gift and my friend loves it. Mine never worked. I called the company telephone number on the paperwork. They were not at all sorry and just asked me the model and serial number. They sent a new part without any instructions. A friend who is in the repair business tried to swap out the parts for me. Guess what? Not even the same part. The company could not have cared lessl.I will never buy anything from this brand again.
Potential Fire Hazard
January 5, 2015
Potential fire hazard. The unit came with a 60 watt light bulb that was cracked because the light reflector shield is pressed up against the light bulb. One bump in shipping is enough to crack the bulb. I had to bend the reflector in order to get the remnants of the bulb out. I replaced the bulb with the recommend 60 watt candle bulb. Within one hour of running with the new bulb the fake fire began to cut out. It would be off for a few minutes and then come back on. When the fake fire was back on I began to smell paint scorching. It was the cover for where the bulb sits. After unplugging the heater for 5 minutes the cover plate was still very hot. I removed the bulb and found that the base of the bulb was extremely hot.The problem is that this bulb sits in a very confined space with no means of venting the heat build up. Ideally an LED bulb should be used in this small space. An LED is all light and very little heat whereas the recommended incandescent bulb is 90% heat and 10% light. For now I'm leaving the bulb out. I bought the heater for the high/low heat setting and because the heat blows across the floor verses upward light other heaters, and because it runs quietly. I could care less about the fake fire. The only reason I want to get the fake fire working is for the reminder that the heater is on.UPDATE:I replaced the 60 watt bulb with a 7 watt night light bulb. It solved the bulb over heating problem. The outcome is that by down sizing the bulb it made the fake fire look more realistic. Now the fake embers glow in a color that more closely resembles real embers. The fire looks like a nice simmering fire. Previously the embers were glaring like a red stop light. I also added a strip of foil duct tape to the back cover to bounce more light. DO NOT USE CLOTH DUCT TAPE. It's not the same stuff.I get tired of having to work on, modify, redesign, etc. a brand new item, but that's what the world gets when everything is made in China. China doesn't care about the quality of what they ship nor do the companies that import their crap. It's make your profit and run before the law suits start rolling in.UPDATE AGAIN: Returned this piece of crap when I started to get a burning smell from the rotisserie motor that makes the fake fire glimmer.
The logs do not look real and the noises that are suppose to replicate a real fireplace that sound more like aluminum foil rattl
December 27, 2014
This heater is smaller than a carry on bag. The logs do not look real and the noises that are suppose to replicate a real fireplace that sound more like aluminum foil rattling. When my fireplace / heater arrived it had a large crack in the back making them fake flames look even more unrealistic.Maybe my assessment of this item is thrown off, because it arrived broken or maybe it's so easy to break its a waste of money! You decide.
Sadly, it's a deficient "efficient" model
December 2, 2014
One day of use and the "flame"/lights stopped working, and only the low heat setting works. Returning/exchanging for another Dimplex CS33116A model - I have owned that model for a year and it actually works great, and looks SO much better than this one. (And it has a remote)I realize there's a price difference between the models, but in order for CD-12056A to be just a smaller more efficient model, it has to actually work. This one (CS-12056A) smelled so strongly of burning plastic, the heat buttons only work if the "flame" button is on (?) - yet they're each a separate button, "flame" stopped working after running it for just one day, and the high heat button never worked (straight out of the box) - something's not right with this model.
Not impressed with lifespan
December 2, 2014
Looks nice but the heater part of it croaked in less than a year. I bought it in December, used it for 3 months, put it away for spring and took it back out when it started getting cold in late October. By mid November it died. Not impressed at all
Melted/Burned out in 34 days
November 26, 2012
I had this unit sitting on a concrete floor and one day after having the unit on the low setting for about three hours, I began to notice a god aweful burnt plastic smell. I looked closely at the fireplace and noticed the plastic guard was warpped and melted. I immediately shut the unit off. The next day I turned the unit back on and noticed the heating element wasnt working anymore. I almost thought I had been jipped until I found the user manual stuffed in a drawer and noticed there was a 90 day warrenty so I got my hopes up that I could get a replacement. The customer service phone number on the dimplex website is not a working number, so I tried the technical assistance line and recieved a busy tone all day long, as of now, a total of ten call attempts. I have since filled out the "contact us" form and am awaiting a response. Another case of you get what you pay for. I recommend spending more money and getting a fireplace that is safe and will work for a long time to come. I am also dissapointed that it has been so far impossible to contact the manufacturer and would not recommend anyone buy Dimplex products just for that reason.
