You will NEVER use another coal brand again!
August 14, 2017
Once I discovered Coco Nara, I have not allowed myself to bother with any other charcoal brand. Coco Nara, although takes a little while to burn and start up, lasts a good amount of time and does not give the hookah a nasty burning, coal taste. The coals take longer to burn, unlike other brands which is great when you have started your hookah session. This charcoal is a must buy!
Can't beat Coco Nara!
June 5, 2017
I stopped using Coco Nara for a while because it seemed like every coal I cooked smelled and tasted funny, so o switched. I recently moved and didn't have much of a choice, so I went back to Naras and they work wonderfully! They don't smell anymore and cook evenly!
Love these!!
August 8, 2015
Very satisfied with these coals!! I don't know what the haters are talking about, my coals last twice as long as any other coals iv ever used!! I have been an avid hookah smoker for about 4 years now, and u don't think I'll ever use anything else but coconara!!

TIP TO SMOKERS: INVEST IN A HOT PLATE!! that is how you will get the best use out of these coals. A butane lighter or torch will not light your coals to the extent of a hit plate..

I had an issue with my hookah at once, I wasn't getting enough smoke. I couldn't figure out why. I Bought a while new stem because I suspected a the stem was not air tight. The new stem was not any better. As soon as I got a hit plate, it solved all of my problems!! Thick and huge clouds now!!
Great coals, read the directions

Before I knew how to properly light coals and got an electric burner these did me no good. Now that I've got a burner these have to be the best upgrade for the money you can get for your hookah. I didn't realize how much the quick light coals impacted the taste and smoke amounts until I got these and wow, these are great. Huge smoke clouds and great taste. Get these right now.
Best coals ever!
June 4, 2013
When I was first introduced to the wonderful world of hookah, I was using the standard quick light coals and was always disappointed in how quickly they burned up. It was to the point that I was accustomed to having leftover shisha in the ceramic bowl that I would use at least once more before it was completely burnt up. I finally received a hookah as a present and my husband insisted that I buy these and that I wouldn't be disappointed. Don't tell him I said so, but for once he was completely right! These last 10x longer, AT LEAST! I run out of shisha before these little guys are completely burned out. I highly recommend these. The only flaw that I have found so far, is that their sizes are kind of awkward. They're too small to use just one, yet it's a little too much with two. We use two of them and place one each on the very edge of the ceramic bowl on top of the tinfoil and this is working well for us thus far. Also, just in case you weren't aware of it already, these don't light with a lighter. We place them on top of our electric stove top to light them. But we have a good system down to where this isn't even an inconvenience to us any longer. We start heating them while we're getting the hookah ready and by the time it's all set up, the coals are normally ready to be placed on top. So not a big deal, really! I definitely recommend these coals and you're getting a lot of bang for your buck! The price is incredible. Hope this helps!

Not my favourite, but it'll do.
August 10, 2017
I'm not nearly as fond of Coco Nara coals as I am Fantasia's air-flow coals, but since there was a shortage earlier this year these seem to be the second best. We just found that using two didn't burn long enough and using three burned way too much, and I don't like having to rotate or ash my coals after using Fantasia coals, where I have to do neither.
I don't understand why people don't quite like these coals
July 31, 2016
I don't understand why people don't quite like these coals. They might not burn "SUPER" long, according to the professionals, but for my friend and I, they do the job. Up to last night we actually burnt a couple and lit them up, lasted well over an hour and honestly, we've had a few sessions, and we're still pretty shocked we have so much coals left.
Enhance your hookah experience!

Good coals. Coca Naras are great brand of hookah coals that will provide you with an enjoyable session. If you have been using instant light coals this is probably the best investment you can make. It will take 5-10 minutes to get these going but they last about 45 minutes so it is well worth the wait. There is no flavor given off these coals so you can completely enjoy the flavors of your shisha like never before! The only reason that I dropped a star from these is that if they sit around for too long they lose their longevity and will not burn as well. That being said you will love these coals, give them a try and find out for yourself.
good on electric stove bad on fire stove
January 23, 2014
I love these coals. I use them at home on my electric stove and they work beautifully. I took them to my boyfriends house and tried to heat them up on his gas/fire stove and it was so hard to get going. I might have the technique wrong but it was so annoying to try and get the coals hot enough. I would've thought fire would be easier but it seems electric heating coils are the way to go.
Great coals
February 12, 2013
Right off the bat I want to point out that I gave this a 4 of 5 rating because these are not "easy to light" unless you have something HOT. Conventional lighters simply don't have the heat output and I don't recommend the stove idea mentioned by other reviewers simply because of the amount of power you are wasting just to light a chunk of coal. The fastest, easiest, and most effective way that I have found to light one of these bad boys up is to use a handheld propane, butane, or MAPP gas torch set up like the one seen here ([...]). Just hold the coal over the flame using your tongs and within a minute it should be hot enough that it will keep itself lit. You'll know if its ready when you blow air across the coal and it glows red. And with the heat that you are dealing with when it comes to these torches, all you have to do is expose one face of the coal to the flame and the coal should keep itself lit from there. Keep your fingers at a safe distance down your tongs while doing this, they can get a bit toasty. But once lit these things are great! They burn at a nice temperature, they keep burning for a long time (I've had a few hit 2.5 hours!), they have little to no odor at all and they dont mess with the flavor of your smokes. I love them other than the fact that they are kinda hard to get started.

A fair warning and disclosure to anyone who has never used a set up like the one I just showed, these torches get HOT HOT HOT! As in the thousands of degrees hot! MAPP gas being the hottest at 5,200+ degrees fahrenheit and butane being the lowest with 1,500+ degrees. So if you aren't experienced in dealing with a set up like this, then DON'T use this method. You can get very quickly and seriously hurt or set fire to something if you handle one of these systems the wrong way. I am not responsible for anyone's negligence, accidents, and otherwise painful or horrible experiences if you mishandle a gas torch. This is simply the method I use and the best one that I have found to light these coals but I am also experienced in handling these torches. Be smart and be safe.

Not the best coals on the market
September 12, 2017
So I bought these coals bc they were pretty cheap. I was using Coco jamara before this and the Coco jamaras are way better. These naras are cut very poorly. They burn unevenly. And they don't burn as hot or well as the jamaras. These naras seem like they are packed as tight together as the jamaras which to me seems like it's causing them to burn unevenly and not as hot. When these burn there are little black dots that show it's not bringing evenly or there are small little gaps that aren't burning. I use a propane burner to light my coals and the jamaras burned so well compared to these. The jamaras make these look like a nock off brand. These also have a weird smell to them when they burn and when I blow on them they occasionally pop and crackle and spit hot pieces of coal at my face and it doesn't feel very good. But they do the job, light pretty easily, and burn for a while so that's why I'm giving 3 stars
Meh, good value, shabby product
July 24, 2016
These things ash like crazy and it's a messy ash, not the kind that stays clumped together and just falls off in layers, no. This one just falls everywhere and gets in the holes in the foil. Pieces are not very well cut or uniformly shaped. Lots of broken chunks. Shipped quick. Good value for quantity/price
Long Lasting
March 31, 2016
They lasted about 2 hrs.. i really like this I dont care to have to put it on the stove but it works and last a long time
Good coals, but random quality. Ecocha is more consistent.
July 21, 2015
I've always loved Coco Naras but, after over a year of smoking hookahs with it, the cut of the coals and the quality of them are just too random. I've since tried various types and brands, I now prefer Ecocha coconut coals instead. Especially since they're HALF the price!
Used to be Great, Now Just Average
June 12, 2015
These just aren't the same as they used to be. They aren't as uniform and consistent and are very prone to cracking and breaking off the stove.

Do they get the job done? Yes. However, look into another brand. Coco Nara used to be my go to brand for coals, however, I won't be ordering anymore until the quality gets back to where it used to be.

Too ashy, burn too quickly
June 15, 2017
Compared to Titanium these are sub par. They burn quickly and produce way too much ash. Titanium is a much cleaner way to go. I won't buy these again and probably won't use what I have.

Great coals. And always delivered on time

Update. Coals seem old or have moisture in them. They tend to turn off while using and make it hard to smoke a hookah. Most of the box will be thrown out
Takes forever to light up
July 12, 2016
As much as I love coconut charcoal by Coco Nara, this one sucks!!! It takes forever to ligh up, like the bigger chunks I got before for bigger more professional hookas! Not good for home use. Not sure if they changed the product or it's just a new packaging, but I liked the old one much much more.
Coco's are great, not sure if these are them
July 22, 2015
Normally Coco's are great. I don't know if these are fakes or I got a bad batch, but these ones didn't burn like normal coco's usually do, and seems contaminated. The ash is sometimes different colors than usual. The smoke is also harsher than it normally is.

I believe this box is the same as 108 pc by weight, just more smaller pieces

Used to be good, this is a horrible quality and not what it use to be at all, not even close.

Used to be good, this is a horrible quality and not what it use to be at all, not even close.
These charcoal turn from hot red to cold black, before it's consumed.
coco nara used to be good. they were my first non quick light coals ...
February 1, 2017
coco nara used to be good. they were my first non quick light coals i used beginning of 2014 and they were fine. times have changed and these coals don't burn as hot as other coco type coals. i tried using them in a lotus and i had to keep "refiring" the coals. they must've changed their formula or something
Waste of money, sick with Shoyeido
January 3, 2017
These simply won't light, so I'm stuck with this clunky box of charcoal. So disappointing.
... is so inconsistent different sizes which it is not good for head
December 5, 2016
No it is so inconsistent different sizes which it is not good for head management
Horrible
June 5, 2016
Both boxes appear to be a mixture of tiny, ashy low heat coals and large brown-when-lit coals that emit an awful smell and flavor. Yes, I am familiar with natural coals--these were lit in a well-ventilated environment with a desktop coil burner. Have used Titanium, Prestige, Haze, Ecoal, Fantasia, etc... Would prefer any of the previous to these. Don't believe the relatively recent positive reviews; they either received old stock or aren't genuine reviews.
