Amazing~ A Must Have!
April 8, 2017
This game was the sole reason I even bought a Vita and I regret nothing!I loved these games from the PS3 and it's even better on the Vita, the game play, story, customization. everything is amazing and so much fun~Hours of entertainment. And achievements to shoot for. Love this game so very much.
Great Vita version.

Great Vita version. Multiplayer is fun and helps get some of the much needed items, but can sometimes be choppy and sporadically drops. Key product features include:The creative Platforming fun of the LittleBigPlanet franchise comes to the PlayStation Vita handheld gaming system• Introducing new ways to play, including front and rear touch control, tilt functonality and much more• Multiplayer fun with pass 'n' play, multi-touch, and online play modes• Access thousands of games online, created by fans (like you) and enjoy new gaming experiences everyday• Create with new touch tools and all the familiar pop-it' tools and costumes from LBP2 (PS3) to develop simple or complex games for everyone to enjoy

Lovely game! I played the three console LBPs and I loved them, but I certainly was not expecting this game to be as good as those titles. This is a very deep game and the LBP magic is definitely there. The levels are all varied and they are all a blast to play through. Buy this now!
Very enjoyable platformer
January 1, 2014
I really enjoyed Little Big Planet 2 on PS3 so being able to play LBP on a portable device was a must-buy for me. I'm really glad that I did. I think you get all of the same features as you do in the console version games. Plus some fun mini-games, some that use the touch and accelerometer functions of the PS VIta which fit nicely into the game (those features are used within the main gameplay also). The game is not difficult, but is certainly challenging to get all of the goodies. The creation features are fun and I'm excited to explore my creativity with them (looks a little toned down from the console version, but I haven't messed around too much with either).A definite buy for "hardcore" and "casual" gamers alike.I haven't messed around with multiplayer aspects yet.
Go buy a vita!
October 8, 2012
To make this short and sweet, little big planet vita and super mario land for the 3ds are the two best games I've played in the past 6 years. I would actually have to say that little big planet vita is better than super mario land, because it's much more diverse when considering the downloadable levels and level designer with all the mini games included. People are complaining about the length of the game, but I think it's the same length as super mario land. I will probably play through it around 4 more times as I did the same with mario land. The only problem I've seen so far is that I preordered it and I can't redeem my free bioshock mini pack. In closing, trust me when I say that this game is worth buying a vita for. Also, think about how cool it is to be able to go from playing lbp to a console like game and even the great ps1 titles like resident evil 1,2,3. I love the vita and I will never let it go. I just hope that more people decide to buy it in the future so we can have more support and possibly even another handheld from sony.
The Definitive LittleBigPlanet Game
September 19, 2012
This past week I've taken a critical look at LittleBigPlanet Vita; I have played through the Story Mode as well as spent a chunk of time in Create Mode.First I'll start with the new Story Mode. While it may seem a bit shorter than previous games, it is packed full of exciting gameplay, a great story, whimsical characters that will not leave you disappointed. Some may be worried that the Vita's touch capabilities will leave us with a gimmicky game, and while they did implement both front and rear touch throughout the levels to showcase the new capabilities, I never felt as if I was being beat over the head with it. In addition to the normal levels and challenge levels we've become familiar with in past games, you also gain access to an Arcade section with full fledged mini-games. Each of these minigames have a handful of levels that you progress through with some very fun gameplay (my favorite is Tapling). I would go deeper into the awesomeness that is the story of LBPV, but I don't want to spoil anything for you guys.Next up is Create Mode. If you've already spent time in the LBP2 create mode, you'll be able to jump right in and get creating. However, I'd suggest spending sometime looking through all the Tweak and settings menus of the familiar tools, you may find exciting new additions to them (such as the wonderful new abilities that come with the Note). In addition to all these new tweaks, we've been given all new tools to work with. I'm sure everyone has heard about the Memorizer by now, and I believe it's going to allow creators to make bigger and better levels that were previously not feasible. For those who are looking to squeeze every last bit of thermo into their levels, you will love the dephysicalizer which allows you to remove the Physical properties of parts in your level which will reduce the thermo used. Now I want to address those who are worried about taking the plunge into a handheld system. I'm pretty picky when it comes to handhelds and the Vita is the best handheld I've owned since the Sega GameGear; it's weight, size, and button placement give a very natural feeling while playing it. This comfortable feel combined with LBP captivating (and addictive) gameplay, you tend to forget you are playing on a handheld system. It no longer feels like handheld gaming, it just feels like gaming. And call me fanatical, but I believe LBPV is well worth the price of the Vita.

Really fun and looks great!
September 30, 2016
As a fan of the other Arkham games I have to say I am very happy with this game. The side scrolling setup is great for the vita, and it looks great. The combat is pretty much the same as the other Arkham games, in that it's really smooth and makes you feel like a total badass when you get a long combo. The "boss" fights are pretty fun and each one has a different approach so they force you to think in a different way with each new boss. The only real downside I can think of is the map system, the map screen is very basic and not very intuitive. I spent a lot of time wandering back and forth trying to figure out where I should go, perhaps it's just that I had a hard time with it but I feel like it could have been handled a bit better.Overall, the game is great and very fun, aside from the trouble with the map I really enjoyed playing it and I may even go back and play it again to get all of the collectables.
Fun game!

My son had lots of fun playing this. My youngest said its fun but challenging. So that's a good thing if he doesn't beat the game the first day! Graphics and gameplay keep you entertained especially for the batman fans
Nice surprise
October 14, 2014
I got this game for $9.99 and honestly did not have high expectations for it.I was very surprised to find it is a very fun game with quite a bit of exploration and challenge. It takes a while to get used to the map, but once you do, running around is fun (and there are collectibles to find as you explore which keeps it interesting). The boss fights are blah - simple patterns, etc. The final boss fight is irritatingly a Quick Time Event and if you even slightly mistime or mishit a button, you start over. That was my only real frustration with the game.Overall - if you can get this for $15.99 or less, I would recommend it. One of the better experiences I've had on Vita.
Lots of action

My grandson told me to write "because its an awesome game and you get to fight every bad guy and thats cool". Lol. Thats his review. He's 7.
Awesome ... Where are the rest of the great games?
January 14, 2014
I love my Vita. I long for games like this that have the graphics and gameplay to take advantage of the hardware Sony has brought to market. I would have preferred a more 3D environment in the game, but they do a very good job of exploiting this 2.5D format. My only complaint ... and it's not small, but it is only one ... is that with all this powerful hardware, we still can't get full versions. I'd like to see the full Arkham Origins on Vita, not a pared down spinoff. The game is great, but I'm tired of feeling like the leftover pot roast whenever new games come out for every system but mine. Sony has a monster console on its hands with the Vita, and they do very little to recognize that.If you want to use your Vita as it was intended, get this game ... it's great. And the more players buy games like this the more good games they will bring to market. I showed this game (on Vita) to my brother in law, who was playing it on his 3DS ... and he was blown away. The graphics and controls made for a totally different experience. That's not a swipe at the 3DS, because it is a great console too ... but Vita has a lot to be proud of, except for its game catalog. This is a step in the right direction ... keep them coming Sony!!
Really good Batman game, great Vita game!
October 28, 2013
I contemplated giving this review 4 stars just to lower expectations a little bit, but the truth is I played this game probably 6 hours this weekend after opening it when I got home on Friday. This is a MUST-OWN for any Vita owner. If you liked the Scarecrow levels in Arkham Asylum then this game is for you, because it works in a very similar way except that you guide your experience much more than you could in the Scarecrow levels. What impresses me the most about this game is the way Armature transformed the side-scroller and gave it so much depth. There are a lot of "Wow, I can do this too??" moments throughout the game as the gameplay gets deeper and deeper. The combat is great as you would expect from the Arkham series. Maybe not as silky smooth as the PS3 version but not far off.The story is good so far (like I said, I'm just 6 hours in) and the motion comic cutscenes are really charming. The only gripe I could possibly throw out is that this game was obviously made to run on both the 3DS and the Vita, which can only hurt the Vita version. You hardly ever use the right stick (because the 3DS doesn't have one) and the touchscreen implementation is sometimes not used when you would expect it like on the map (because the 3DS uses capacitive touch and pinching to zoom in and out on that would be problematic). So outside of the Vita being a far superior system than the only other one that this game was released on, I love this game. I really think the Vita has the chops to run a game like Arkham Asylum but I'm grateful this game exists and I've had a lot of fun playing it.

This game feels right at home on the Vita. Possible the best in the franchise.

December 26, 2014
This came with an online pass that was expired. It is irreplaceable. Most of the games content is about sharing online. You can not purchase a replacement pass for this game either as Sony is refusing to offer a replacement or even a purchase option for the expired pass.
but a little annoying when trying to go between the touch and button ...
September 14, 2014
Its a solid portable LBP game. If you've played LBP you know what to expect. In addition to the standard console experience, levels also incorporate touch interactions, which is interesting, but a little annoying when trying to go between the touch and button controls.WARNING: the online pass (voucher included) was EXPIRED when I tried it. The error code returned when trying the code obviously didn't allude to this fact, instead being a random series of numbers and letters, but after contacting support, they were able to tell me the online pass expired on 9/01/2014 - a few days before I bought it.I'm assuming the marvel super hero edition about to come out will have a valid voucher. So you may want to wait for that.
Just as good as the PS3 version
January 24, 2014
I was pleasantly surprised with this Vita version of one of my favorite family video games. It controls well and doesn't seem like just a copy of the PS3 version. The touch screen adds a new dimension to the game that works very well and is a nice touch (no pun intended) to already a great game. If you like the PS3 version and want more, this is a must have.
Great create tools!
December 21, 2012
Definitely a good game to pick up if you have a Vita. The graphics are comparable to the PS3 LBP games with the exception of the fire and smoke effects on vita aren't up to par with the console. The game obviously takes advantage of the tilt and touch mechanics of the vita. There's an arcade section where there are 5 iphone type games used with only touch controls. I'm not sure if others have the same problem but online mode is pretty bad. It takes an extremely long time to load a user created level; a cool thing you can do though is download user created levels to play anytime without an online connection. I also had tons of lag to the point that it was unplayable most of the time when I played online with another player, only once did I have a lag free game and it played just fine. The best part about this game are the create tools. You can create touchable objects to use with the front or rear touchpads. You can also use the vita camera to take pictures for stickers. You can use the microphone to record sound effects or voice dialog. This is definitely a buy if you enjoyed the LBP games on PS3.

Fun
September 3, 2017
Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate is a pretty fun game. This is not an open world game like the other Batman games. And is a side scroller for the most part. This is a really easy game to play. What makes it interesting is that you can change the order in which villain you can defeat. This changes the ending somewhat. Also, the cut scenes are like a comic book, which is ok if you like that kind of thing. I personally don't, but that's my opinion.Overall I give this game a 4/5. It's fun, has some replay value if you want to get the achievements. But it lacked an open world, which made the batman games fun in the first place.
good library addition
April 6, 2017
4/5 - the game is good, the action is smooth, the graphics are clean, the story is fluid and coherent... it's just that there aren't any hints, leaving you to figure out a large chunk of how to play the game. and this has gotten frustrating for me early on in the game when I enter into a new encounter and repeatedly die in various stupid ways trying to figure out the simple controls. a clearer control layout would have been nice.aside from that, if you like comics, the Batman series, have watched any of the films, then you would really enjoy the game. as I stated at the beginning of this review, everything about this game works. first thing I noticed about the game was how well the graphics are lain out, and this is on a handheld unit.I would recommend this game if you like action, and decent story, and you rooted for Batman when he 'vs Superman'. yup.

Great Batman Game but could be better
September 26, 2015
one of the greatest game on the vita the have i for one personally love the Batman Arkham series so when i heard it was going to be on the Psvita is was very pumped. The pro's everything is like the batman games on the consoles but with a little twist instead of having normally cut scenes like in the Xbox/PS3 games they ended up making it like a comic which i like because it's something different also you also see characters like The Joker,Cat Women etc it's like the batman games on the console. The con's it get's confusing sometimes looking for the next villain or finding a way to get to them and the game is a 3DS port which also makes me think what would have they done to this day if it was just a Psvita exclusive and lastly it's a 2d side Scroller game which is not bad but people would much prefer a full 3d batman game.
Fun sidescroller
April 27, 2014
Honestly, its a fun 2.5d sidescroller - if you enjoy this style of game, you are going to enjoy this one. I am still playing it (on PC) though I bought it for the Vita too -Graphics look nice, controls are easy to use, and it takes place a couple months after Batman: Arkham Origins, though you do not have to have played that game......the armor is the same, which is good! This game is pretty inexpensive now - get it!!!
Solid 'Metroidvania' game hamstrung by unrealistic expectations
November 19, 2013
If this had come out before the Batman Arkham games made people realize that licensed games don't have to be terrible, Blackgate would have been heralded as the new dawn of licensed products. Compared to the average licensed game (and Batman games historically, not counting the Arkham ones), this is a great game. It's a solid 'Metroidvania' side scroller with emphasis on gadgets and exploration with good (if a bit easy) combat. Graphically it is quite good as well, though not up to some of the top tier Vita games. Does a really good job at capturing the 'feel' of the previous Arkham games on the consoles. The problem is that people have started to expect Arkham City level quality from all Batman games now (see the mediocre reviews of Origin on the consoles as an example of this bias), and Blackgate, like Origin, just can't really live up to Arkham City's towering shadow. That combined with some issues with the game itself (slightly buggy and a pretty terrible map) gave people the impression that it wasn't a very good game. A shame really, because any Vita owner who likes Batman games will almost certainly find something to enjoy about this game. Keep expectations tempered, and you'll find a thoroughly enjoyable 8-10 hour Batman beat-em-up.

Fun but short

Was fun. I've never been able to figure out how to build levels on this, PS3 or PS4 versions but LPB games are fun nonetheless. Can't deny that. This was too short of a game for me.
Great game but....
January 7, 2015
I bought this game and absolutely love it! However, I assumed this game was new since it didn't say "used" in the description and it came wrapped like a new game. I tried to use the online access code given inside the game case and it said that code could not be used. Now I'm wondering if this game was used and they just repackaged it like a new game...

Fun game but gets boring
June 25, 2014
This is a very fun game on the ps 3 and I've enjoyed many wonderful moments with friends playing this, so I bought it for my ps vita. Although the game was nice, it was very easy to complete (maybe I should've seen that coming?) and when I went to the community games, most where just silly levels full of young players obnoxiously playing, which isn't preferable to me.In short, this game is fun at first, and also fun for mini games, but you need a lot of memory for it and it gets old quickly.

Navigating Nightmare...
May 4, 2016
There are plenty of things that are right about this game, but there are also many things that bring it down. The good things about this game include the same things that make the other Batman games in the series so much fun. The ambiance is certainly enjoyable. The voice acting and cut scenes are solid, but is somewhat scarce. The story is good enough though clearly lacking compared to any other game in the series. The controls are mostly responsive except during intense combat when it can get kinda clunky and awkward. The worst part of the game is by far the map and environment. Navigating around the game in 2.5 D fashion is frustrating with much backtracking and confusion. The map can be somewhat helpful but bring it up every couple of minutes is tedious. Overall, I'd skip this game since you are missing much especially if you have played the other Batman games.
Meh...
June 10, 2015
Played for about an hour."Punch, punch, punch, kick, punch, jump, swing, repeat."I let my friend play it and in a few days he beat it. I asked him what changed or improved from what I experienced. He told me you get a sort of upgrade to your batarangs. Everything else was the same grind.Gameplay was boring. The story was great and graphics are awesome though! Watch it on YouTube and save the cash.
Only Ok
March 18, 2014
I was pretty excited for this game. I'm a big fan of the other Batman: Arkham games. This one just doesn't measure up. Combat is overly simple. I never felt the need to go beyond basic punch, counter combos with the occasional cape sweep on those few enemies the required it. While in the other Arkham games, you'll beat up hordes of enemies, there really are not that many fights in this one. There are not that many stealth portions either. And if you flub most of them up, you can just punch your way out. No puzzles really either. It's all quite straight forward. The game is pretty short at 8-10 hours. In order to 100% the game, you must beat it 3 times. There are some redeeming qualities. The game is fun to play, and because it's short, you don't really get too bored with the combat. The boss battles are quite well done for the most part. The game looks pretty decent on the vita. The story has some good elements to it, but really its not very substantial. Those that know something about the DCU will see the story well ahead and know what is going on (except possibly for the small "twist" in the arkham wing), but those that don't know the DCU still won't know what's going on at the end and the story will feel really hollow to them. The short story here is really just a setup for a future game, and it definitely feels that way.So all in all, its ok. Just ok. Probably worth $10-15. I would have been pretty upset buying it for full price at launch though.
Its ok
March 14, 2014
So far its an ok game its not the greatest its just ok , feels like a Castlevania game just Batman style which its not bad but it also doesn't have that wow factor . Its ok for the price of 20 bucks .

Play and Create. No Share for you!
December 19, 2014
Don't get me wrong. The game is great. The problem is that the online pass for all these 2012 Vita games has expired as of November 2014. Sony truly told me to return the game and re-purchase it from PSN if I want to play the game online. If you're buying this because you want the cartridge, be forewarned. You will get all the Play and Create you can handle. You just can't Share with anyone because you simply aren't going to get that online pass to work.To be honest, I'm not even sure I'm going to re-purchase the game from PSN on the fear that I still can't activate the online features of the game. From what I understand, Sony doesn't refund purchases on PSN, so... yeah.Good luck!
Great Idea, clumsy control / lack of objective
November 21, 2012
This game confuses me. I played it for hours and was extremely bored, waiting for 'something' interesting to happen. The gameplay is boring and you don't really do anything other than jump around cardboard boxes and hang from things. I would not recommend it, even though the graphics look super cool and it seems like a good idea. The gameplay just ... lacks 'soul'.

Sold with expired online code [UPDATE]
January 2, 2015
UPDATE II: I saw some reviews here saying the codes were working, so I got in touch with Sony -- and it turned out my code was un-expired! I'm glad, but this has still been a ridiculous ordeal. I can't believe they didn't get in touch with people who'd complained about expired codes when they decided to un-expire them.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had fun with the brief story mode, but when I went to try the user-made levels, the included code would not work. When I got in touch with Sony support I was informed the code is "expired." (No expiration date is mentioned on the card.) I received this as a Christmas gift and my parents bought it from Amazon not long before that, so this means games with expired codes are being sold. Now I need to get the receipt and send them a scan of it -- in addition to a scan of the voucher, which they've already confirmed is legitimate and unused, just expired -- to get a new code. I understand why game companies require codes, so they're not providing extensive online services for people who bought the game used, but this is just completely ridiculous.UPDATE: Just heard back from Sony. They are refusing to provide a new code. Now I'm furious. Negative ten stars!

Unplayable
January 27, 2013
The game was amazing when I played it, but for some reason, every time I play it now, it is EXTREMELY laggy. Even the single player is very laggy, the multiplayer, well I can't even load one level for some reason, it just takes to long, and if it does load, it will be way too slow. Sometimes the music acts up and randomly freezes and repeats over and over. This game is unplayable unfortunately, I would like it if I could play it, but the entire game is laggy and messed up.
Piss Poor Game
December 26, 2012
I'll just sum up LBPV here:- Last-gen graphics- SLOWWWW loading on EVERYTHING, even levels that you JUST loaded.- Clumsy menu- Terrible control, whatever little control you have- Touch control is gimmicky, does NOT work well, and you are forced into this torture the whole game.- Cheap boss fights- Cheap level design that is just out to "get you" (especially the later levels)- No depth whatsoever- Simplistic gameplay with little player control (contributes to cheap boss fights and cheap level design)- User content takes long time to load, search, browse, download, create, and start playing.- Story-line thought up by a zombieI paid $20 for this. I got ripped off. This game is worth $5 at most. Angry Birds has got better gameplay and story than this. Stay away.
