Excellent Part-Time Vac
November 11, 2016
So far so good. Replaced an Electrolux Ergorapido and the Hoover is far superior. Love the swappable battery feature and can do quick clean-ups in half the time. We mainly use to vacuum kitty litter after cat potty breaks and for other small messes. Does a great job on carpet and tile. The hard floor brush roll works great. So far have been able use 8 to 10 times (a few minutes at a time) before needing to swap the battery -- one battery charges while the other is in use. Would highly recommend the Air Cordless, especially at the Amazon price.
Does a great job!

Love it! I was wanting the newest Dyson but decided to save the money and I am very happy. Love the power for the most part, extra battery, being cord-free, easy dumping of canister, extra washable filter. Only thing I dont like is where the power switch and beater bar switch are, which isnt a huge deal and I dont like how hard it is to reconfigure it to get the hand held wand/other attachments to hook up. Overall seems to be good quality for lots of plastic (which makes it light and lots of maneuverability). I think it should last a long time (im hoping!). Every so often the beater bar will stop on me under heavy loads and I have to turn it off and restart it. But overall I love this thing on the many rugs we have in a house of all hardwood floors- works great on both! I think it would do well in a house full of carpet as well.
Love this thing! 20 weeks pregnant and this thing is light as a feather and easy to use!

I'm loving this vacuum! It's so light which makes cleaning the house much faster and easier. I was having a hard time and getting upset at how heavy my dyson is, that my husband bought for me. So I bought this and it's perfect. The dyson was causing me to have bad cramps halfway through cleaning the house, because it's so heavy (and at 20 weeks pregnant...that's not good). So I bought this one, rather than the cordless dyson and it's perfect. I can do a quick vacuum through the whole house, one one batter and then have the other one on the charger as backup. It comes with two rechargeable batteries, the charger and an extra filter. Which I found nice, for the price. Plus it last 10xs longer than the handheld dyson (my mother-in-law) has one and it only last about 16 mins and there is no extra, removable battery. She has to stop in the middle of what she is doing, while her dyson cordless is still charging. I just pop another battery in, and keep going.
Best Vacuum EVER!

OMG! I am NEVER going to buy another corded vacuum after this! It is so light weight and easy to use that my 5-year old can use it.This is what I love about this vacuum: - No cords to tie you down! This is a HUGE convenience that you might not realize until you try this out - Easy to maneuver! Turns corners easily, and glides under furniture with ease - Its easy to maintain! The filter removes easily to clean, which you can do in your sink and let it air dry. This comes with an extra filter, so you can keep on cleaning while the other one is drying! The roller is easy to remove to clean up if you have people with long hair in your house like we do (or pets). - Same amount of power as a plug-in. One battery will last me about 25-30 minutes. The suction power continues on until the battery dies, and then it just stops. There is no loss of suction due a dying battery. This one battery will allow me to vacuum the entire 2nd floor of carpet in my 2 story 1900 sqft house. with enough left to do the stairs! I also use it on the hardwood and tile downstairs and still does an excellent job! - Its super light! I was able to use this on my stairs, as well as pick it up and use the swivel head brush to clean my ceiling fans! This is an amazing vacuum, and would highly recommend it to anyone!!
We are finally free from cords and hoses
May 6, 2015
My wife and I are ecstatic about the Hoover Air. I had been tracking a more expensive cordless unit for over a year, waiting for the price to drop under $350, and then caught a TV ad for the new Hoover Air, for far less money. After a quick survey of the features and good User Reviews, I ordered it without hesitation. It is light, yet solidly built, and the dual battery arrangement gives us sufficient power to do some extended vacuuming. Especially for smaller traffic area pick up cleaning, we are now able to simply pick up the Hoover with one hand - do our quick cleanup and put it away, in less time than it would take to just drag out the hoses and attachments for our whole house vacuum, not to mention tripping over the hoses while cleaning and rolling up and putting away all of that paraphernalia. We also like that at the press of a button, the battery indicates charging level, and the charger unit is very solidly built and provides good, clear-cut visual indication of charging status.

I received the vacuum on time and in operating condition, except, one of the batteries will not charge. The charger does work as it successfully charged the other. The dead battery has been left on the charger overnight: nothing. The vacuum itself works very nicely and I am sure we will enjoy the use of this unit once we can resolve this issue.UPDATE: We communicated via the phone on the Tuesday after a Saturday delivery. Told the story and we were instructed to box up the entire unit and return it by UPS.We only needed a battery!!*****************UPDATE TO THE UPDATEWednesday A.M.: writing this review and the doorbell rings. FedEx with a new Hoover!!!! Seriously -- overnight.....Immediately, I open the boxes (yes, boxes) to get to the area where the batteries are stored. Check the first one for a charge: Yes!Check out the charge on the second: Yes!I then placed a battery on the charger, which worked, and a battery on the unit and gave it test drive. SUCCESS!!!! On to 5-stars.

AWESOME!
September 11, 2017
Iv had this for almost 2 years now. It works wonders. i have 3 animals and they all shed A LOT. this can keep up with the mess just fine but sadly you do have to clean the brush out your self pretty often. (we have a lot i mean, A LOT of dog hair in the house) The batteries are amazing! i know lot of people seemed worried about how long you have charge them and how long you get use it before having to switch them out. We have a 1400 SF house and we can get all the house on one batteries. i doubt everyone vacuums every day so we are mindful to always charge after use so we always have 2 full one ready to go if and when we need one. sadly a few days ago the wheel axle broke and now we are looking to have to replace it. That's the husbands fault tho and i think less to do with product design. looking foreword to getting this one again!!
Cordless is awesome...
September 26, 2015
This vacuum is very nice. It's so nice not to have to plug in and wrestle with a cord. The batteries last a long time and charge quickly. It is very easy to empty and clean all the parts. It is light, yet seems pretty well built, except for the roller brush and brush motor, which don't seem very robust. My only real complaint is that when the roller brush turns off because something gets caught in it, there is no reset button. You have to take the battery out and wait a few minutes till the roller will go again, which is a pain. This annoying little problem removes one star. Also, the roller will not turn when the vacuum is totally upright. It took me awhile to figure this out and for awhile I thought it was broken. All said though, I really like it, and would buy it again. Finally, the packaging is the best I have ever seen in any product. They made it super easy to get the parts out of the box, together, and working in no time. I wish everything came this easy to use.
Love it! Beware of wheel defect, but Hoover's customer service helped.
September 2, 2015
This is a powerful cordless vacuum that I have used every day on wood floors and carpet for the last 6 months since purchase. It is powerful enough for pet hair, lightweight, and I can vacuum my entire house (2300 sq. feet) with one battery. This is an excellent upgrade from the Linx!Last week a wheel fell off and kept falling off, which led to the roller brush breaking off at the end. I called Hoover customer service Monday morning and explained my situation (see my note below for details). They sent the entire unit, minus the dust cup, all new, that arrived today, just two days later. The lady said I would receive it in 7-10 working days, but surprisingly it arrived in just two days! I was so relieved as I have pets and like to keep up with my house. I easily attached the old dust cup and handle to the new unit, added my battery and was good to go. Now, I would gladly give them 5 stars for this vacuum that has changed my life (lightweight, powerful and cordless), but when the wheel fell off I did a little research in the reviews here and discovered several people have had the wheels break for them too. Since it comes with a decent warranty and apparently they have awesome customer service, I am relieved for now, but I do have concerns for the future. If this is some kind of wheel defect, could it happen again? The replacement unit is slightly different than the original, with the power button being on the left side, the hose doesn't have the annoying clip of the original (so it is improved) and the box it arrived in comes with a different UK name for the vacuum, not Hoover. I am hoping the wheels on this one are improved, but they look the same to me. I will update my review over time if I find these wheels last longer.I have been a longtime Hoover vacuum customer. I have the Linx (that continues to function that I've had for years, which is why I upgraded to the Hoover Air), the Hoover Steam Vac, and originally had the Hoover Platinum Lightweight. I do recommend the Hoover Air Cordless, but I want the purchaser to be aware it seems to have a wheel defect that can happen at any time. You should be covered for a while with the warranty, so far their customer service remains above par. The wheel defect could be a problem, but dang if this isn't the easiest vacuum I have ever owned. I would buy it again, if that helps.Note: Customer service first wanted me to drive several hours back and forth for repairs. However, after a short discussion she told me they would ship the unit minus the dirt cup in 7 to 10 business days, which ended up being two days, making me very happy. Now, had she not done that, had she insisted on my going to a service center an hour away, I can assure you this review would be completely different, with 1 star, and my Hoover loyalty would have ended then and there. I am grateful she was reasonable and quickly helped me.
I didn't think this would suck so good!!
April 13, 2015
What a wonderful product. The Hoover Air Cordless 3.0 vacuum is just what i was looking for. Battery powered products are the wave of the future. From leaf blowers to vacuums, everyone is getting rid of their cords. I did a lot of research when looking for a vacuum that could meet all of my needs and finally settled on the Hoover Air Cordless. The two lithium ion batteries it comes with are wonderful which gives you awesome flexibility with each battery having a good 50 minutes of run time. I have carpet and tile and the vacuum transitions onto both surfaces nicely. It also has a feature to stop the brush from spinning if you have soft floors that might be damaged, just by the push of a button. i can get up in the morning, pull out the vacuum and go over the living room, kitchen, and hallways in 10 minutes, walking from room to room without turning it off or moving a cord. Vacuuming the stairs is also simple given its light weight design and, you guessed it, NO CORDS! The only thing i don't really care for is removing the handle for the extension attachment. It doesn't work that well on furniture but i guess it would be ok for blinds or lights. The issues are that it significantly reduces suck power and also can leave the handle dirty. The handle of the vacuum detaches and plugs into an extension hose on the unit. But the opening on the handle where the hose attaches is exposed when it is its normal position on the cleaner. If you used it all the time i would imagine it would get kind of gross and need to be cleaned, as it will be right by your hand and visible while cleaning. still, its an amazing device, even without using that feature. My wife and i purchased a Rainbow vacuum a few years ago and for those of you who have one or have seen one, know you can't just go vacuum something up in 2 minutes. I payed over $1500 for that vacuum and now purchased the Hoover air as a more practical cleaning tool for my home for quick clean ups, and i have the Rainbow for deeper cleanings. I do not believe the Hoover Air should be the primary vacuum i your home, especially if you are a crazy vacuumer type. I vacuum a few times a week, not 5 times a day as some of the other reviewers do. I believe with that much use then there is a good chance the Hoover will not last. It feels of good quality but doesn't feel any better than a normal bag less or stick vacuum. As much as i love it, i would not be surprised if i am repairing or pursuing a new one in a year or two. I'll do it though. Dyson reviews (at three times the cost) don't offer any more confidence in their product. Get the Hoover Air!
NO cord to have to fuss with...
November 30, 2014
This vacuum is light weight, easy to use and carry. The fact that you don't have to deal with a cord is what makes this vacuum so nice. Until I started using this vacuum, I did not realize how much a aggravation the power cord is on a vacuum. Not having to deal with the cord is really nice. The vacuum picks up fairly well, considering that it does not have as much suction as I would like. The canister for the dust collection is easy to remove and clean, the two filters that come with it, are easy to change and clean. Even the rotating brush in the suction head is easy to remove and clean. The hose for the dusting wand is stretchable, but it needs to be longer. The two rechargeable batteries, and the charger provide a fair amount of run-time, and they are easy to change. Throw rugs, or bath mats tend to get pulled up into the rotating brush and this will stall the brush motor and trip a thermal breaker. It's best to turn the brush motor off when vacuuming small rugs. I like the vacuum, but I would like to seen improvements in the suction and length of the stretch able hose.
more suction power than the line…but still some odd bits
April 25, 2014
I have owned 1 line and 2 Rowenta stick vacuums. they all have lasted about a year. I gave this new Air cordless a try. First thing I noticed is that to get to the filter that needs to be cleaned, you must twist the 2 ½'s of dust bin apart. This is extremely difficult to do. the pieces are large without any real obvious place to put your hands. I actually waited on hold with Hoover for 10 minutes for help and finally, the pieces separated while I waited on hold. I imagine as dust gets in here, the increased friction will make this more difficult. Another complaint is that the hose which can be detached from base and inserted in the removable handle (becoming a cleaning wand) is much to short, and stays buckled to the machine mid way down..so it is not a very functional design. The unit kept tipping over on me when I tried to use this feature. I think they should have left it off entirely and just sold a powerful stick vacuum, not a multi-tasker. The power button is much lower than the handle, again, awkward placement. You must lean and look for the button. If they skipped the funky hose design, the switch could have gone on the handle grip like most stick vacs.I do like the dual batteries, and they held a charge for about 20-25 minutes each. The suction was also very good, and was maneuverability.

Starts and stops. Very frustrating.
September 27, 2017
I have owned this vacuum for about 1 year and 11 months. For the 1st year everything seemed to work great, and it did a great job, the added bonus of having a snap on / off bottom for the roller, made keeping it clean and tangle free a breeze. We've taken great care of it, use it on just one floor, with 3 area rugs that are low pile. Last few months it has not been working very well. It keeps shutting on and off whenever we use it, when its on, for a few seconds at a time, there is suction, the rollers work and it works fine, but then it will shut off and stay off for longer So the amount of time that it is on is a fraction to the amount of time that its off while the power is on. I've looked up this issue online several different ways and followed the various tips offered through Hoover on their youtube channel. Still it does not work very well. I am really dissappointed, because when working this is a fantastic vacuum, and so easy to keep clean. I happen to still have my old vacuum that was the linx cordless vacuum, which I replaced this with, and it has been going strong and working flawlessly better, it just lacks the kind of suction this has. I will try to reach out to Hoover Service store and see if they can help. When I called Hoover, they said that I would need to call them to see if it was still under warranty. It says 5 years right on the vacuum and I have the receipt obviously from Amazon. Hopefully they can do something for me, otherwise I'm not paying to get this fixed. I'd rather get one that does not have these issues. It might be time to get a non-Hoover vacuum.
Not good for picking up tracked cat litter
January 17, 2016
I've had this vacuum for about 5 months. We have cats. Every day or two I vacuum the main living area to pick up any cat litter that they track around the floor and any cat hair. I bought this for that purpose. It is just barely acceptable. We have hard wood floors and it takes at least 2 or 3 passes to pick up any litter. I've tried both brush rollers and found no discernable difference. I also have a Eureka Quickup cordless stick vacuum and hoped the Hoover, being more like a full sized vacuum, would be better. However their ability to pick up cat litter is about the same. They both require multiple passes. The Eureka costs $45 and the Hoover $200 (both with extra batteries). I kept the Hoover for 2 main reasons. Emptying the dust bin is much easier and it has a wider brush roll. Emptying the dust bin on stick vacuums is messy because the cat hair sticks to the filter and has to be pulled away, and of course it is also caked with dust so it makes a mess. I still use them both, depending on my mood. If I had to choose only one, I would not spend the extra $150 for the Hoover.
Started Out Great
August 28, 2015
This vacuum works great...it is light, the battery life is decent, and it has good suction. I love that it is easy to use, change the filters, and empty the canister. The hose attachments were not well thought out, they are awkward and don't store well on the vacuum...so I never use those (tried once but found that it the set up did not work well). Back in June (about 4 months after I purchased it) the vacuum started to be intermintent, cutting in and out as I vacuumed. By late July/early August, I had contacted Hoover and on 8/5/15 I was instructed to take the vacuum in for warranty service. I was so happy that it was going to be repaired for me, since it was only a few months old. Today it is August 28th and I am still waiting for the warranty work to be completed. I have been told by the local repair tech that Hoover has not yet sent the parts for the warranty repair and that it could be 6 to 8 weeks (however, initially I was told about two weeks)... At this point, I don't know when I will get my vacuum back and it is frustrating. So, to sum things up...I found this vacuum to be great but the followup and customer service from Hoover and their warranty parts/shipping has been super slow...very disappointing. The vacuum seemed to be of good quality but the fact that it broke so soon was also disappointing, especially since I followed the maintenance instructions to clean the filter, canister, and beater brush regularly. I guess I will wait and see what happens with the warranty repair.
"Kinda Sucks"...but only kinda
August 13, 2015
A good machine for what it is. I like it and am happy I bought it. The 3-star rating is related to performance when compared with "real" vacuum cleaners. A battery just "ain't" a 120V power source. So the vacuum just "doesn't suck" like the real deal. On the other hand, it's FAR more convenient to use than a corded vacuum. One confusing issue is that the accessory cannot escape from a retaining clamp at the bottom of the canister. So to use the dusting brush, etc., one needs to pull the hose down through the retaining clamp to stretch it out. Seems like an odd inconvenience considering that the job of the retaining clamp is simply to guide the hose. A great alternative would be a clamp that opens and latches...or that the hose could be pulled backwards through the retaining clamp to make it more convenient to use.Again, I'm happy with it, and I would buy it again, but I do have a "real" Hoover that will suck the fillings out of your teeth from 50 feet away to back this up. :-)P.S. Save your money on extra disk filters. The washable filter that comes with the machine is very durable and reusable many times. I bought a two-pack of replacement filters, and I suspect I'll lose track of where they are long before I need to use one.

March 16, 2015
Delivery: 5 stars: Amazon delivery as expectedDesign: 4 stars:++ Batteries: Having 2 batteries is great. I also like that I can have the charging station in one location and store the vacuum elsewhere. This gives me the ability to keep the charging station in the garage while allowing me to store the vacuum in the utility closet where it is not tethered to the cords. I find each battery life sufficient for vacuuming my home.++ Accessories: The vacuum has accessory tools that are not typically found with cordless vacuums. However, I found it cumbersome to use. The accessory attachment hose is at the bottom of the vacuum (near your feet) and in my opinion a bit difficult to find the hose release lever. Replacing the hose is also a bit difficult (in my opinion). I also encountered issues when using the attachments with the wand; the vacuum becomes 'front/top heavy' where it is has fallen over while cleaning above floor surfaces (such as window ledges and blinds/shutters). I believe it is because the accessory hose is at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. So when you are using it, you are tugging on the bottom back causing it to tip over. Once it tips/falls forward, the battery stops working. You have to change the battery to continue your chores.++ Canister/Dust Collector: I find the dust collector a bit small for this type of vacuum. It accommodates my 'quick' cleaning in the morning where I vacuum dog and cat hair from the tile floors. However, it is very full if I vacuum the area rugs. It requires emptying the collector before I am finished vacuuming. Removing the dust collector bin is easy, but I always had a little trouble getting the bottom release lever to work when emptying the bin. Replacing the dust collector is also easy.Quality/Utilization: 3.5 stars++ Performance: I used this vacuum almost every day for 10 months. It performed very well for my daily 'quick' cleaning. It does not replace my stronger vacuum (Dyson) used for my main cleaning (nor did I expect it to perform as a main vacuum). I found the vacuum to perform best on hard surface floors rather than carpet. As I stated in the Design section (above), the vacuum becomes front heavy when using the accessory tools. The vacuum falls forward and the battery stops working (tried removing the battery and replacing it and it will not work, until it charges again). I have to swap the batteries to continue cleaning. Thank goodness for 2 batteries! The next day I replace the battery that failed during the fall and it works perfectly again.++ Durability: 3 StarsAs I stated above, I have used this vacuum almost daily for 10 months. I was recently vacuuming, performing my normal morning routine (I have 2 cats and dog, so I vacuum daily) when I heard a cracking noise. The mechanism that locks the handle in place for regular vacuuming (when you are not using the accessory wand) broke. I can no longer push the vacuum without the handle coming out, it now only works with the accessory wand. I suppose daily use for 10 months may be hard on a vacuum, but because I use it so frequently, it is not 'hard' or 'tough' cleaning, so I expected it to last longer.++ Roller Brush: I found that more dust and hair remained tangled on the brush than what actually made it to the dust collector. I did not realize this until all of the sudden it was putting more back on the floor than picking up! I did not use the roller brush that much as I mainly used this vacuum on my tile floors. Cleaning the brush was quite a chore, but removing the brush from the bottom of the vacuum was very easy. Once I got it cleaned, I no longer used the roller brush; ensuring it was turned off.++ Accessories: As I stated above, the location of the hose is cumbersome to use. I notice a significant suction loss when using the accessory wand. It did an okay job for my daily 'quick' cleaning, but in no way would this be sufficient for main/heavier cleaning. The dusting and crevice tool stored on vacuum consistently fell off during regular vacuuming (without the accessories).++ Filter: Cleaning the filters and dust containers are very easy and both clean up nicely. I used the original filter the entire 10 months, cleaning periodically. The filter is still in good shape.++ Maneuverability: The vacuum is light and easy to push. It swivel to allow maneuverability round furniture. It is not as maneuverable with the attachment wand.Summary:++ The vacuum does a good job on hard floor surfaces for daily 'quick' cleaning.++ In my opinion, it does a 'so-so' job on carpet; much of what it picks up gets stuck in the roller brush.++ Be careful of the handle to ensure it does not break like mine did (not sure how mine broke, as I was not twisting it in anyway; maybe it was weakened when it tipped over while using the accessories).++ The vacuum noticeably loses suction when using the attachment wand.++ Use caution when cleaning above floor surfaces as the vacuum becomes 'front/top heavy'In my opinion, I think Hoover has the right idea, an upright vacuum that is cordless, with 2 batteries. However, Hoover needs to correct a few design flaws. I believe this is a lot of money for what you get. I think other cordless vacuums will do that same job for less money (but will not have the attachments). I may be wrong....but I will soon find out. I am purchasing another cordless vacuum for about $100.00 less. In event the cheaper vacuum is less adequate, I will certainly correct my statement.
Great idea, but still too toy-like...
February 3, 2015
Hi all... I really like the portability and the ease of use of the two batteries. Plenty of time for a house with hardwood floors. Prob not enough if you have carpets, esp with animals. My vacuum is overall pretty lightly used and we've had it since August. My problem is that the build quality / design details are not that great:(1) Be warned that when using this you will have to clean out the spinning brush, the inlets, the hose/body connection, and the filter quite often (nearly each time I use it). We have two dogs so its not just a little dust, though they arent longhairs or anything. I'm technically oriented so this doesnt bug me too much, but EVERY TIME gets to be a drag. The filter especially will get clogged with dust pretty quickly, and presents a mystery until you bang it out and/or wash it out. The vacuum power is pretty good at baseline, but borderline enough that any small clog will dramatically decrease cleaning ability. If you cant handle getting inside the works, this is not for you.(2) Breakage: I've had to contact cust support twice. The little tab that keeps the spinning brush in place just wore off (?plastic bearing) and was promptly replaced by Hoover (7-10d shipping at least). Next, one of the wheels came off sometime and was lost. The wheels are held on only with a pressure fit part, so they slip out pretty easily. The wheel is not to be found. Now it is out of level and cleaning is nearly impossible. Again Hoover very nicely is sending me a whole new body no questions asked (yes... a whole new vacuum, i will transfer only the handle and dust bucket!). Hoover: throw a bolt in those wheels! While the cust support is really great, what I need is some better durability to go along with the great form factor, innovation, and battery life! This keeps this vacuum more toy-like rather than a burly cleaning machine.I dont miss the expense, weight, cord, and design of my old Dyson Animal, but I sure miss having a consistently working vacuum! My housekeeper is ready to give up on the Hoover, but I'm hanging in there with it. FWIW, like the idea, overall design, and def the cust support, but need to tighten up on the build quality and design details.

it would be a great vacuum. Excellent suction and works well from hardwoods ...
July 28, 2017
After tons of searching and reading reviews, we purchased this Hoover Air vacuum. We have had it less than 4 weeks and BOTH rollers have broken apart and there is a burning smell and awful noise coming from it. If they could fix the roller problem, it would be a great vacuum. Excellent suction and works well from hardwoods to rugs. The rollers are $35/piece to replace... if I had to replace them both every 4 weeks, I would be broke! :(**UPDATE: We have now gone through 3 roller replacements since June. I have diligently kept hair off of the rollers and not used it on rugs so it doesn't get "stuck" on anything. The belt side roller keeps breaking apart. Hoover will only keep sending replacement rollers. Super annoying
Design flaw of the brush kills the entire product
August 18, 2016
I have had this vacuum for about 2 years. At first I thought it was fairly good. Although the plastic feeling of it made it the durability questionable in the long term. I can say that as far as construction of the canister part, it has held up. There is, however, one major part that keeps breaking. As documented by several reviews here already, hair and other debris get cough between the plastic piece that houses the bearing and the brush itself. This causes overheating from the friction of the brush turning and then melts the plastic. I even had smoke coming out of it at one point. This has happened to the original brush and the brush they sent to replace it under warranty. This is a major design flaw that appears to be ignored.
eh. Good and happy with purchase by has some drawbacks

UPDATED! DONT BUY!!!!I like it being cordless. And the suction does hold as long as you empty and clean the filters every once in a while. Which I don't mind if it means I don't have to buy bags. The biggest draw back in my mind is that it doesn't clean along the edges as my last vacuum.I should mention that I purchased this when it was brand new on the market. So it did have some issues of breaking a thing here and there (without any reason). BUT the customer service is awesome. They replaced everything completely free of charge (incl shipping). Good for the price, good for being cordless, and good for someone wanting to save money in the long run. Not good if you're expecting the best vacuum you've ever purchased.---------- UPDATE BELOW----------So it's been a year and a half and it no longer works. I SO wish I would have spent that money elsewhere. Hoover was great about sending me replacement parts, etc as things broke. But that should have been my first clue. Now it's too late. The problem must be electrical even after switching batteries, cleaning filters, clearing brush, etc it still won't turn on beyond frustrating!

I bought this vacuum on July 15 -- 2 months ago. At first, I LOVED it. Battery life, perfect. Maneuverability, a dream. Canister size, perfect. Everything worked like a charm until dog hair started getting tangled around the brush end caps threads causing them to be worn out and damaged. As much as I cleaned the brush, this kept happening daily. Now, it is so bad that one of the end caps has melted stuck from the heat and I can't even remove it to clean. I consider this a FLAW that needs fixed. Why can't the end caps be part of the brush and not have to be screwed in??? The potential for this being an awesome vacuum is there, but the end cap design is horrendous which is why I have given this such a low rating. I have contacted Hoover after viewing this Hoover video on Youtube.(...)Aug 2016 Update:I finally gave up on this vacuum since it quit working even with the new rollers. It is now sitting in the closet and instead I purchased a iRobot Rumba. I really wanted this to work :(Update: I have called Hoover and their rep told me that the vacuum is not meant to be used with shedding animals. The rollers are not covered in the warranty, but I was able to order a different multi-purpose brush that should handle better at a 50% discount -- which I really appreciated. So -- if you are specifically buying this vacuum to use on floors with a lot of pet hair, don't do it :( I will continue to use on my hardwood floors since I love the convenience of being cordless and just be sure to clean the roller end caps more often.
Dog Hair, 1 - Hoover, 0
August 24, 2015
I'm disappointed. I had high hopes for this vacuum. I'll never get an award for world's best housekeeper, so anything that makes housework easier is worth its weight in gold. This isn't it. It gets A+ for quick pick-ups and good suction; F- for handling dog hair and above-floor cleaning.First, the above-floor cleaning. To manage this, you reach down to the base of the machine to unhook the hose, then detach the handle and put it on the hose and put an attachment on that. So 1) you're never going to unhook the hose just to pick up a wad of dog hair or pile of crumbs because it's just too hard to get to, and 2) there's only about a foot of play in the hose and the long handle makes it really awkward. Now, dog hair. I have all wood floors and a few scatter rugs. I also have a large dog with long hair, and even though I brush him every night, I still get clouds of dog hair along the baseboards and under the furniture. Using this vac, I had to pop the brush out and clean it every time. It pops out easily enough, but requires some finesse to get back in. Then, at just after 3 months, the brush stopped working completely. It wasn't the switch or the motor, fortunately, but a build-up of dog hair inside the brush that had seized it up solid. So now I'm running it without the brush and it's okay, but nothing to write home about. It will never replace my canister.
Disappointing suction, and terrible Hoover customer support!
November 11, 2014
Long story short...- The vacuum has very little suction. Seriously.- Way expensive- Of the two pieces that come with it, only one fits on the side at a time.- Customer service is terrible- Agitator stops frequentlyMy $75.00 vacuum, hell my dustbuster, has better suction than this unit. Unfortunately, I miscalculated the 30 day return policy for Amazon, missing it by a day, to return this unit. I like how light it is, but the negatives turn this $2XX+ vacuum into a roomba arena use-case. I called Hoover to complain about the suction, and they said that it must be my carpet because of a lack of height leveling. After explaining that I tried this on both bare floor and multiple kinds of carpet types/heights, the results are the same, I got the 'return it to Amazon' answer, which is no longer possible. Argh. VERY disappointed.

works good, but very poor quality housing construction that is not covered by warranty---Beware
February 11, 2016
loved it out of the box, lots of power, the two battery system is awesome. However, after a few months while vacuuming, the main handle snapped mostly off leaving a sharp piece on the part where you grasp it to move the vacuum cleaner around. I put off taking in for repair (even though i was certain it would be under warranty) and actually got used to it, until 2 weeks ago, the portion of the handle at the removable dirt canister snapped. Again, I was just doing routine cleaning. I took to the authorized service center who just informed me that the warranty claim was declined and replacement of the cheap plastic junk parts that broke would cost more than a new one. Disappointing purchase for $270.

I just threw it away. I can not believe the positive reviews. Hoover is a good company so it is hard to believe they could come up with such a horrible design. I like the concept of battery powered and the battery life was fine. However, everything else about the unit is useless. Suctiion was marginal, only light duty and my needs are not light duty. Using any of the aboveground tools was made exceedingly difficut because the hose is screwed down. If there were some kind of handle so that you could hold it upside down while cleaning the ceiling fan, it would still be bad but understandable. It finally fell over one too many times and broke the clip that hold the handle/tube in place. That was the last straw. It went it the trash (batteries to be recycled) and the next vacuum will be a Shark.
The Hoover Cordless POS Series 3
December 16, 2015
So I read the reviews, and went with the cordless. It was great, for the first 6 weeks. Then, it just seemed to slowly lose suction and efficiency over time. The suction in the wand/extension was not that good in the beginning but we were going to live with it. I went to turn on the vacuum last week and the roller brush would not work. Just out of the blue. I changed the battery, took apart the grill on the bottom and saw nothing. In the end, this was a POS. I have already ordered a replacement, a Panasonic, see if they can do any better. When I borrowed a vacuum from a friend due to the non-working roller brush, I was disgusted by what was NOT being picked up with this reviewed cordless vs. my borrowed vacuum. So, suction on wand was weak, the roller brush quit working, and the vacuum was not cleaning like a standard bagged. I am probably past any warranty, so I just lost $200 on the Hoover Air Cordless POS Series 3.0. Don't buy it.
Good Vacuum except for: Brush Broke, Warranty No Good, Underwhelming Customer Service
August 31, 2015
As far as functionality goes, this vacuum works great and we were really happy with it; batteries work great, and that fact that it comes with two batteries so one can be charging or ready while the other one is being used or runs out, works really well. However, with that said, we have a small house and have been using the vacuum fairly regularly for the past 4 months. Last month, we started having issues with the brush, it would randomly lock up; I would then clean it, only for it to lock up later this month, then the end connectors of the brush broke off... bummer. But, I wasn't worried, the vacuum has a 5 year warranty, great! So I called the customer service, but the brush (which I think is a pretty big part of the vacuum) is not covered under the warranty. I then had to purchase the brush over the phone and now have to wait until it gets shipped to us. "This is all I can do," she said, "it says so in the manual," she said.Needless to say, if I have to purchase a new brush every four months, this was a horrible purchase and will be looking for a new vacuum. I will try and update this review in 4 months to see how it goes. So, in summary, this is a great vacuum, except for the fact that the brush broke from very little use, the warranty is bogus, and the customer service is, at best, underwhelming, with no desire to really help.
I hate vacuuming and now I hate this vacuum.
August 11, 2015
I bought this vacuum in October 2014.At the beginning, I LOVED this vacuum cleaner. It allowed me to quickly vacuum my house everyday (all wood floors + 5 furry animals makes for a lot of hair). The batteries are amazing. It sucked up everything perfectly.But...then things began to break. First, the roller broke. Somehow, the end piece of the roller sheared off and it fell out while I was vacuuming. Hoover replaced the roller under its warranty. So I was happy. For a while. Until the second roller broke. I am still not really sure what happened but one day while vacuuming, a burning rubber smell started wafting from the vacuum and the roller no longer turned. The end piece is completely locked into place. So I have no roller and the vacuum is currently pulling up hair (b/c it does have good suction) but not getting dust and dirt too well. Also, my wheels keep falling off. Each time I vacuum (which is nearly early day), I have to put the wheels back on 3-4 times while vacuuming my tiny house. Whereas it used to be convenient to vacuum, and oh so easy, it has now become a chore again as I have to chase wheels around my house (and don't even get me started on when they roll under furniture!).This vacuum would have definitely out-rivaled any Dyson vacuum b/c it is so affordable. But I have grown to hate this thing and have resorted to using a broom and dustpan once again.

Wow, what a poorly made product. After using it just two times, the switch that controls the beater brush malfunctioned and the beater brush would stop working. This one's going back to Amazon!
