It lived a long life, but unfortunately did not survive my over use. It does get pretty hot pretty quickly, and if it gets too hot too often apparently it can die, at rather unfortunate moments... So as long as you keep your massages short, it should live a nice long life. Nothing bone shuddering but a few steps above anything from wal stores.Four stars for non-intuative design, the air vents for the motor to cool itself are in the grey on handle where its most natural to hold. Two small vents at the top i assume allows more flow. It does heat up abit under load after 5-7 mins. Although i don't know why you'd use it longer than 20mins.The crazy pic below of it melted might be a fake or they where srupid with it.Don't use for a solid hour holding over the vents??Its great, good bargain, would by again. | You need a barrier between you and itApril 16, 2017 I bought this for both muscle help and pleasure, and the results were mixed. I would NOT recommend putting this anywhere near your head or neck, as it will hurt (sorry fellow TMJ pain sufferers). I started using it exclusively for pleasure because it was too intense to help my muscles. I never took it off the "low" setting because it was a very heavy vibration already. The cord is long enough that if you have an outlet next to your bed it reaches well. I would recommend putting a towel or blanket between you and it no matter what you use it for.Recently, I lost this massager to my cat's obsession with chewing through cords. I wouldn't buy it again, but it was a good beginner massager for the price to figure out what works for me. Ours did not work. Owners say this is very loud and has a powerful (over-powering?) vibration. Does anyone know if you can reduce the noise and vibration by uaing a dimmer or speed controller with it? Lowering the vibration speed can increase the life of the device. It gives more choice as to vibration. Plus, it lessens the very annoying noise. But which dimmer or speed controller to use?
