Three Star Reviews: | 34% In need of better filter of strong strength against vacuum pull June 2, 2017 The system is ok except the filter paper. The paper can easily break creating punctured small hole. The filter cake then quickly leaks through ruining the whole operation. In the future, the supplier should include filter paper made of longer fibers that can withstand the pull by the vacuum. Vacuum filter kit with hand pump November 26, 2012 On October 15, 2012, Bob reviewed this item and advised that it is not durable. He experienced the hand pump handle breaking after a couple of uses. He also reported some problems with the plastic tubing connecting the flask with the pump.I read Bob's review prior to ordering the kit. Basically, I paid little attention to his report. I should have though. After 2 days of use, my pump handle broke at the pivot hinge area. The plastic handle is thin in this area and snaped into two pieces with moderate use. Because I needed the devise, I looked for a way to repair and was able to use come scrap aluminum U channel in my shop to rework it and get it back into operation.Until it broke, the kit did exactly what I purchased it for. Now that I have made a support for the handle, it still does. Also, as Bob reported, the plastic tubing can cause some delays but, can be used.If a filter kit is needed for more than 5 or 6 hours, I would suggest purchasing all the components seperately and go for a better quality metal pump. Nice tool but not durable October 15, 2012 This item is a little on the chintsy side. The hand pump handle broke on me after a couple uses. Also the plastic tube connecting the flask and pump will collapse when you pump it down. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 33% Seriously not worth it April 8, 2016 I read the warnings that the pump was trash and bought this anyway. I confirmed that it IS trash. It stopped working after the fourth use. The neck that holds the gauge cracked. It leaked from the beginning. You get better suction sucking on the vacuum hose. If you really want a hand pump, get a metal one for a p*nis pump or brake bleed kit. The right pump would be a small electric one with adjustable pressure. Shorter version, DO NOT BUY THE PLASTIC HAND PUMP WITH THIS KIT OR ANYWHERE ELSE.The rubber stopper is drilled in an oval and isn't the right item anyway. The correct item looks like a rubber plate. Good luck finding one. The Buchner funnel is good quality, however it uses a flat paper filter that allows the liquid to seep around the edges even if pre-wetted and especially if the vacuum pressure is high. The flask and hose are good quality. Filter paper is slow 2.5 micron.Check youtube for how Buchner funnels and qualitative paper are used. You might want a different Buchner funnel with fluted paper. Made in China / Broke in USA September 26, 2013 Typical made-in-China 'economy' hand pump. Mostly plastic. No quality. It didn't work well at all and broke after 30 minutes of use. I mean physically broke - snapped plastic. Not So Great February 22, 2013 At least it wasn't for my purpose. The first time I used it (filtering photographic varnish), it tipped over and spilled all of the varnish and I broke the ceramic bowl. Needs to be more stable. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 11% I would not recommend it to anyone October 26, 2015 This product only worked on my pinky. I would not recommend it to anyone. Even the 500ml flask has a gas bubble in it that makes it unusable for anything that requires heat. The filters are junk. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
