February 19, 2017 Purchased this BLACK AND DECKER TOASTER OVEN to replace our old one. This is a quality product, and has been used every morning for -wait for it- toast! Also pop tarts, frozen pancakes, pizza rolls, and frozen fish, all to perfection. Several casseroles have been cooked in this spacious oven. It's size allows us to bypass the big oven, saving time and money. I personally love the stainless steel look of the product. Highly recommended... Nice and big and this convection oven bakes evenly... September 2, 2016 I bought this one refurbished, not from Amazon, still with the 2 year warranty and really love the large extra wide size. I've read others that criticize it for the 'old school' analog controls. But you know what, my old one had the digital readout and controls but you had to keep punching the buttons to finally reach the desired temperature and length of time it stayed on. With the 'old fashioned' knobs of this Black and Decker I can quickly turn it to the desired temp and time.. Actually much better, faster, more efficient. I've found the temp, so far, to be about 20 degrees too high according to the oven thermometer but I've been accustomed to that with toaster ovens in general over the years I've owned them. If I'm aware of that I just adjust the temp accordingly. No real issue. I first tried it with a couple pieces of bread for toast and it toasted the tops evenly and quickly. The bottoms had the usual uneven spacing of browning typical with toaster ovens due to the rack the bread is sitting on, compared to dedicated toaster. But no real issue here, it was toast. Next I tried some chocolate, chocolate chip muffins from scratch. This convection oven baked them evenly without my having to rotate the 12 muffin pan to evenly bake. It baked evenly for the entire baking time required. They all rose evenly to the same height and color. Nice... Oh, and I would never have been able to use the 12 muffin muffin pan in my old toaster oven. I really like this convection toaster oven! 2 days in and the wife loves it! July 19, 2016 We got this 2 days ago. First it is a huge unit that will take up a lot of counter real estate. The size is beneficial to use, this unit has essentially replaced the full oven for the most part. So far my wife has fully cooked a meatloaf, reheated leftovers, reheated pizza, cooked meatballs, and of course toaster bread(8 slices @ once). We love it and have found no flaws so far.This unit is great if you've got the counter space and would like to avoid using a full oven so much. Oh ya, this this is a convection oven, I didn't even notice that when we purchased,was more focused on cooking capacity. Everything thing has cooked evenly and done it the same time as our main oven(just in a smaller unit). I will update if it prematurely fails or has any problems in the future. Four Star Reviews: | 20% A so so. Not as I good as I expected. September 19, 2017 So far so good. It's just been a week old. But not really happy with the toaster. My last toaster did a better job toasting my bread. This one on light toast does NOTHING! Need to have it on medium to get a nicely toasted slice. Don't know if it's the timer dial that is the problem. Will hold on for a few more days and if something else turns out to be a problem, this baby will be returned. My daughter baked cookies in this and they came out slightly undercooked. So temp wise...it doesn't heat up to the actual temp. Also the body is light and the metal thin. High heat makes it pop quite often. Good for the price March 29, 2017 Works good so far, light weight for carrying. You do need to let it burn off whatever is inside as recommended by the instructions. I did that outside before I used it. Also make sure it is completely level or any metal pan will slide on the rack. I was cooking on outside table Great product March 27, 2017 I am very pleased with my toaster oven. Great product, don't have to use my large oven since having this one. Baked a cake in it last week. Love the size. Nice large size October 28, 2016 Nice large size. Mainly use it for toasting large slices of sourdough or open face sandwiches. Doesn't make perfect evenly browned toast but is acceptable. Biggest drawback for me is the rack. Wish it had more 'rack slots', it always seems to be too close or too far away, especially when trying to top brown something - Like veges with cheese and breadcrumbs. August 1, 2015 We used the same toaster oven for the first 7 years of our marriage. My husband complained time and time again about how ugly it was getting and that we needed to upgrade. Well, I did that for Father's Day! Now, we use our toaster ovens a lot. Literally on a daily basis. We use it for all of the regular things that you would expect like toast, bagels, frozen prepared meals, pizza, etc. We actually don't have a microwave so we use it to warm up all of our food as well! So it is used for almost every meal of the day. I LOVE the size of this toaster oven and it is just pretty! It is so much more usable than our previous oven and it doesn't take up too much room on our countertop. I have successfully cooked things that I would have only cooked in our larger standard sized ovens previously like casseroles, bread, cookies, etc. It performed just as well as the larger oven. It's also nice not to have to heat up the entire house when I want to cook something. I do have to say that it cooks things more evenly than our previous toaster oven as well. I was specifically looking for a toaster oven with knobs versus a digital display. How many times have I had products with those fancy digital displays break?! Technology is great, but sometimes I just like to go back to the basics and I mean that in a good way. The knobs are easy to manoeuvre, but I did have a slight challenge making toast the first time. I couldn't quite figure it out. I'm sure that if I would have read the directions better that would have helped though. ;-) Now...drumroll, please...the reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars? The buzzer! That sucker is LOUD. That's great when I want to be notified so that I can remove items from the oven, but when my kids are asleep, I have a migraine, etc then I would love the option to turn it off or lower the volume. That's definitely not a make or break detail and I would still purchase this toaster oven again. Especially for the great price! | 14% It's better than ok January 12, 2016 It's a plastic or plastic like sheet that can be cut to fit your broil pan or roasting pan, it's small so maybe it won't even fit your oven pan but I got the mini oven so at least it fit. Kind of wvorks. It's an extra bother. It still allows drippings to go around it and dirty the pan, although less.Update 3 to two starsIt's a weird material, the normal grime cleans easy but if you roast meat the fat is hard to come off. You won't see it but you can feel it, there is as a slime you can't get off without a lot of pain. The next time you roast it probably kills the bacteria and salmonella so maybe it's safe.Updated to 4 starsOk I'm nuts but the more I used it the more I liked it. I found if I use a plastic scrub pad on it, the blue ones that have soap in them, it cleans easy. What I've said above is true but the test is not how it does by itself but is it better with it or without it. Now that I can clean it easily, I'd say its better than ok Cleanup made easy April 24, 2014 I have a full size version of this on the floor of my oven - and after way too long bought one for my toaster oven. Now when something ends up on the "floor", you just wait until it cools and wipe it off with a damp sponge or paper towel.Only reasons it doesn't get a 5-star rating: within a couple of weeks, mine showed some fraying on the edge - not a big deal, but not 5-star - and the fact that it will probably fit every oven a bit differently - mine is a bit short front to back so I have to center it to get the best coverage. BUT there is no way to turn knob to exact temp when you need exact, you will need an oven thermometer to achieve this. I do not know why they dont have better knobs! Two Star Reviews: | 6% Bake heat is a no show November 2, 2017 Great broiling but the bake function has never worked correctly. If I put it on 450 things come out cold and even frozen in the middle. My guess is 450=250 degrees. Two Stars September 28, 2017 Great toast. Hard to bake with or make pizza in. The top bakes, but the bottom stays raw. Oven never got to temperature. August 30, 2017 i bought this so my two sons and I didn't need to use the entire oven for small meals. I don't use microwaves. The oven is suppose to be convection but never got up to the chosen temperature. It took forever to cook things. I do not recommend. Update review: Spend a little more and get a better product. June 5, 2017 I was so excited to get a new oven and this one had such great reviews. Unfortunately mine heats up more on the left than the right, so much so that if I cook something for half an hour half will be severely burnt and the other half will be under cooked. So now I have to lower the temperature by 25 or so degrees and turn whatever I try to cook every 10 minutes which drives me crazy because I do a lot of baking. I'm so disappointed with this purchase.Update on 10/9/2017: I can no longer use this oven as it barely heats to 100 degrees (It hasn't moved on my counter since I bought it). I feel like throwing it outside and stomping it into a thousand tiny pieces but I still don't think I will be satisfied. Read reviews etc- see nothing @ convection- guess will try another brand.. Not worth the money May 7, 2013 I purchased this for my full size toaster oven. First, it was too small to fully cover the bottom tray. My fault for not measuring. I slipped it in on top of the tray and under the two horizontal heating elements. After waiting a few minutes for an unpleasant odor to go away, I felt the oven would be ready to use. After whatever I was cooking was finished, perhaps 30 minutes at 350 degrees,I took the dish out. It was at this point I noticed that the oven pad had "bubbled" up and in four places had slightly stuck to the heating elements. Upon examination, the non-stick "coating" had burned right off revealing some kind of fabric underneath. The pad is now warped with exposed fabric and will not lie flat in the places where it stuck to the elements. I feel this is a fire hazard so have disposed of the thing. One Star Reviews: | 12% Very Disappointed! October 27, 2017 I was so excited when this arrived yesterday. I had a chicken breast all ready for it to cook today for lunch. It took over an hour and a half for it to reach 160 degrees at 400 degrees. My old toaster oven took 40 - 45 minutes, and when I say old it has to be at least 15 years old. It is also a Black & Decker, that's why I wanted this one.I wonder how long it will take for a whole chicken?!? Well, I found out today. I think my oven is defective. For the whole chicken, it took about 2 hours (I found a recipe online for a whole chicken baked in a convection toaster oven which had great reviews). The breast was overdone & rubbery (I couldn't eat it, but the dogs loved it), the legs were dried out, the thighs & wing were still bleeding. I'm going to use it for stock; it's certainly not edible. Not What I Expect from B&D October 11, 2017 I purchased this oven to replace another B&D oven, which we were very happy with for at least 15 years. I am already on my second one of these, as the first one needed replacement after 5 months. We've had this one for 2 and it isn't working. Both have/had issues with the toast timer. I have found that the replacement also had problems with the oven thermostat. An oven thermometer is required if the temperature is critical It seems that Black and Decker has joined the list of companies who make products with profit in mind and not quality. After all, if you manufacturer a product that lasts, how can they get you to replace if every year or so? Higher than 300degrees smoke comes out of the oven along with a bad smell. I bought two of ... September 10, 2017 These are a fire hazard! I bought two of these liners; one for myself and one for my elderly mother-in-law. We both experienced the liner catching on file while using the toaster oven. This occurred for my mother-in-law thankfully while her daughter was with her, otherwise this could have lead to a tragedy. I frequently cleaned mine so I know that was not the issue. Since it happened to both of us, I can only conclude this is a product defect. Unexpectedly thin February 5, 2017 Although the box is very nice, most of the thought seems to have gone into the packaging and not the product. The product was aslightly curled, very thin sheet of fabric. Chef's Planet 401 Nonstick Toaster Oven Liner ... June 16, 2015 Don't waste your money. The liner is poor quality and it doesn't work. I used this liner in a Breville BOV450XL Mini Smart Oven with Element IQ and the heating element nearly melted through the liner. The liner also changed the cooking temperature in the oven making some spots hotter than others. Should come with a warning...does not withstand high heat! January 27, 2015 I loved this oven liner at first, because it kept my oven so clean. I just bought a new range, so was pleased I could protect the oven surface with this liner...until I discovered that baking at a high heat cracked the liner and left a residue on the floor of my new oven that doesn't clean off. In other words, it damaged my oven. I will not buy another one. I had used this one only for a few months. You'd rather get heavy aluminum foil than paying for this! October 26, 2012 I needed to come back and revise my feedback. After ober a month of usage, the liner was finally burnt, melt, and left with a long hole. I normally set the temperature at350 so it is way lower than the heat limit from the instruction. Now the product already passed returning period but I definitely contact Amazon to at least complain about this.wHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!i have been using this product for over 2 weeks already. I put the sheet in my Black Decker Toaster and it fits perfectly. I normally bake chicken and cupcakes at 300-400 F. I was first worried that it will cause fire (I read the review here before I bought) so I never leave the toaster unattended. I haven't got a problem from sheet burning like some reviewers had but still it left some burnt mark on the sheet due to high baking temperature. Speaking of the easiness from cleaning, I would say that this sheet is extremely easy to wipe out and clean. I have never rinsed it off as I can easily use paper towel to wipe all residuals even they are sometimes very sticky.Give 3 stars due to the price and low heat tolerance (leaving some burnt mark on the sheet). When I look back, I can as well continue using the aluminium foil to wrap the tray which is more hygiene and cheaper.
