The taste isn't to bad but it's not good either. But the health benefits are worth it. The taste goes away quickly. I took it one night with acidopholus and that was a mistake and that didn't seem to mix well then I read to take it on an empty stomach. My dad used to make us take cod liver oil when I was young. It makes your eyes clear, hair shiny and generally lubes your whole system if you take it regularly.

This is a great product! I started taking it last winter to see if it would help with my depression that would get even worse in the winter months. I started out with 1 t. a day, but that wasn't enough. I bumped it up to 2t. and saw dramatic results in how I felt. I started feeling happy again! I did lower the dose down to 1t again after a couple months as I started to not sleep as well. Fixed the sleeping problem! I quit in the summer months with no recurrence of depression and am taking it again this winter to prevent future problems. It does taste fishy, but it is worth it.

Many people recommend cod liver oil as a source of vitamin D. Unfortunately, times have changed, and most brands of fish oil are processed (to remove the fishy taste) in a way that destroys most of the vitamin D. Sonne does this one the old fashioned way, and the vitamin D is intact. I don't find the taste bad at all, and I'm very glad to have a good source for natural vitamin D.

My toddler and myself take this cod liver oil. This is actually my second bottle. We take it for the Vitamin D (we live in Vermont) and omega 3 (we don't eat much fish) benefits.We prefer Sonne's because it is one of the purest forms of cod liver oil available without being so crazy $$$. I want to do the best for my family but I can't always afford $50-$60 a month.We each take about a 1 tbsp each 3-4x a week in about 3 tbsp of pure 100% fruit juice. We mix it in a small glass because that is the easiest to clean. It goes straight in the dishwasher. I don't like to get the oil on my sponge because it might transfer onto other things I wash. There is no way I can take this straight.. it is far too pungent. My toddler is such a trooper and will take it very quickly as long as I mix it with juice. I attached a picture of her taking her "medicine juice" quickly.. the goggles are just a bonus.. not required to take the cod liver oil haha.If this gets on your clothes or skin.. best take a bath immediately. You will smell like fish for a long time. If it gets on your clothes make sure to soak the stain in some dish or laundry detergent and then wash a couple of times at least. That being said this is our SECOND bottle and we will continue to repurchase many times.The most apparent health benefit I've noticed is our skin and NAILS. My nails used to split and peel like crazy and ever since I started taking cod liver oil no more! My hair and nails grow like crazy and are so strong and healthy.

My son takes it by the spoonful! If you need help take a spoonful of raw honey to coat your mouth then take a sip of water, tilt back your head, then pour right into your mouth for 1-2 seconds. and just be sure to drink plenty of milk afterwards because this NEEDS to be taken with a fat to gain full effects as well as to keep that funky flavor coming back later. I recommend this for people as young as 6 months old. If you need more vitamin A-D just add grass fed beef liver, shellfish, and raw milk butter to your diet! Good luck!

After scouring the web, and reserching this, realized that 90% of CLO products during processing destory valuable Vit A / Vit D, and all then re-add synthetic Vit A and Vit D to their final product.Carlson, Twin Labs, Nordic Naturals, Barleans -- they all add synthetic Vit A / D.If I wanted synthetic vitamins, I could just pop pills.According to the expert, Weston Price, their highest recommended product is a overly pricey fermented product.As a Norwegian myself, my grandfathet said they the Scandinavians (where CLO originally came from), NEVER ferments the COD LIVER to make CLO.They use a natural process which has been passed down for generations. going back to Eric the Red and the Vikings.Currently, nobody has such a product.This Sonne's CLO is currently the closest I could find. They have been making this since 1946.Also, according to Weston Price, he said you need "butter" combined with CLO to get "any" benefit. Hogwash.My ancestors I assure you did noy combine their Cod Liver Oil with Butter in Norway.They all come from the North where sun is limited, and CLO gave them all the Vit A and Vit D they needed for living in such a Northern Climate.This product is top notch and the best I could find, with a price we all can live with.

This goes down pretty easily and doesn't seem to come back up, just a bit of a minty aftertaste. Still, I find it helpful to put the spoonful towards the back of my mouth, toss my head back and swallow in one quick gulp ;)

This cod liver oil is easier to swallow because of the lemon and mint flavor. It helps! The least amount of capsules and softgels that I take in my supplements the better. Glad I bought this!

I love this cod liver oil! The taste is good. I give it to my kids every morning. It helps keep their skin clear of excema.

Didn't think I liked this at first (certainly not straight - made me sick to my stomach) but it's great blended in smoothies and yogurt. My daughter loves it, doesn't notice a fishy taste at all!

Hey, I thought cod liver oil was supposed to be gross. Why did I listen to all those people all these years ?!?! I HATE fishy taste, and this is mild, and lemony. Get it? Lemony !!! Love this company, and I hope they come out with some other flavors. My husband is not a lemon fan, so.... he's waiting. But he WAS impressed with how this oil didn't taste awful, and how mislead he felt also. Only advice, shake well. Doesn't say it on the bottle, but I felt the lemon taste was not as strong after it was shaken.Way to go, Garden of Life !! Great product. GREAT.

I love this fish oil. It never burps back up. The taste is happily disguised by the lemon mint addition. Cod liver oil greatly decreased the pain I experienced from my periods/endometriosis. An excellent product!

I hear on forums that they add synthetic vitamins into this to get the levels up to what the label states. I did not personally confirm with the company. For me I wish it was not the case because I liked the product otherwise and DO NOT want synthetic vitamins.

My boyfriend has a big ol' cavity on one of his molars, and it will be a while before we can get it fixed. Within minutes of taking this, his tooth pain was reportedly gone, but came back if he didn't take this oil for a couple of days.It tastes very fishy, like licking a freshly fried mackerel. But I suppose that's to be expected. It still tastes better than a lot of medicines.A lot of the flavored brands are just plain cod liver oil, plus some lemon or orange essential oils. For that reason, we bought this one for half the price, and added our own flavorings.

It is hard to give CLO a "love it" 5 star review but I like it better than lemon flavored brands of CLO. It is easy to take, basically tasteless and contains my Vitamin D and Vitamin A in as natural a way as I can find.When I found out that most Vitamin D is from lanolin I decided to find a real cod liver oil and this is the real thing. I highly recommend it.

I have taken cod liver oil for years, and I really like this stuff. It is fishier than Carlson brand but I don't mind that. Took a long time to receive the product though:(

This cod liver oil is completely natural and tastes great. High in vitamins A and D. Great for cardiovascular health, joints, teeth, skin, hair and eyes. Omega 3 fatty acids are very important.

Great product. Arrived within the time frame. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because my kids do not like the taste. Just a little too much of a fish flavor. Not bad for an adult but for little one's (7, 5, 2) they didn't even like to drink it when I would pair it with juice; which is kind of a treat at our house :) So we will go back to Carlson's lemon flavored cod liver oil. They didn't mind drinking that brand (also paired with a little juice of their choice, pink lemonade). Just my two cents :)

I like the taste of this product much better than the previous brand I tried, so this is my 2nd order of this product. I'll keep ordering. It also came with an unexpected free lotion sample, who h was a nice surprise!

The taste is pretty good for Cod liver oil , I don't taste fish at all just strong citrus very easily palatable. The only downside for me is the outer bottle keeps getting sticky . I keep washing it off but it stays sticky which is kind of freaky when your ready to take it ..

I was surprised how easily I could get my daughter to take this cod liver oil. She thinks it tastes yummy! (My husband is not so pleased, but I think that's only because he knows what it is and can't get over the thought of it!)

Quality is okay, as far as I know, since I'm no expert on cod liver oil... Tastes like it's supposed to, it seems.My issue was with the Styrofoam, plastic-lined lid... The plastic underneath, maybe because it was in contact with oil, came off into the container; I can see pieces of it floating around. I have already used a few teaspoons of it and it's not a huge deal, but I'm still contemplating on returning it.

Cod liver oil is supposed to have vit d. and other benefits. The taste was not bad. However, I decided to stop taking it when I read that Cod liver oil may suppress thyroid function because it is an unstable oil that goes rancid quick. That is no fault of the manufacturer though.

What attracted me to this product was the purity of the ingredients and the price. However, it has a strong, lingering fishy taste that makes me reluctant to take it. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to switch back to one of the more expensive, flavored cod liver oils.

Bought cod liver oil because I read that this a good source of vitamin D, plus can aid in overall balance.Once I took it this, I experienced painful stomach cramps. I asked a friend of mine who is a nurse and she told me, cod liver oil is a small intestine laxative. Needless to say, I won't be using this anymore. Plus the fishy taste is out of this world-yuk. Usually I can handle anything, but this packs a punch not even I can take.I am not saying its the brand because I am sure Sonne's makes good products, plus cod liver oil has its benefits. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because I cant take this anymore.

Great taste but the bottle is awful. They need to add a pour spout to the top. It's very messy and you lose a lot of the product... the oil runs down the sides of the bottle.

I love Garden of LIght products, but at times the taste can prevent me from taking them. This taste was great and the mint was mild but stuck out to take away from a fishy taste. I am just not sure I have noticed any difference in my health since taking it, but I am sure it is doing something.

As expected.

I've used Carlson in the past - wanted to save a couple of dollars and give this a try. It's good - but I do detect more of the fishy flavor with this. That is the only difference. To me (being a fish hater...which is why I need to get this in my diet) that's a big deal. But..it's not so bad that I won't trudge through it and use it up. If it was too detectable - I wouldn't be able to touch it.

I am satisfied with this product, however it can leave a lingering minty taste in mouth and stomach.

The flavor was too strong, I ended up having to buy capsules instead.

Product tastes ok.I ended up wondering if it was tested for mercury.I went to manufacturers web site and asked.They never got back to me. So, I switched to another brand.

It's OK. The reason I can't say better is because I was very specifically looking for Fermented CLO and this appears in the search results. After reading the description, it doesn't specifically say fermented but it is "olde world". In the "Olde World" CLO was always fermented, so I assumed wrongly that was what they meant.I took the entire bottle as directed without noticing any positive results. I've since switched to Green Pastured FCLO and was shocked with a noticeable difference within 2 days,which have only gotten better over the past few weeks. This product didn't hurt/help, so I can't recommend.

Horrible customer service. Old stale product. Threw away without using.

The lid was cracked and leaked everywhere.

This and the Calphonite stopped the pain in my neighbor's legs but did not have the same effect on me.

I got a colon infection shortly after using this. No idea if it was from this product.

I was hoping to use this as a healing oil, the smell is so strong it was not something I could not tolerate the smell. I had to wash the washcloth 3 times to remove the smell and take 2 showers.

Spoils and turns rancid. I would not recommend.

I didn't notice any difference while taking it. It also ran out pretty fast. I started with 1 tsp a day then upgraded to 2 when I didn't notice a difference with 1. I broke out on my face and shoulders more. That's about it....
