Best Floss EVEH!!!!!!
July 11, 2017
What a geek! I can't believe I'm getting excited about dental floss! But I'm totally fan-boying over this stuff. If dental floss had been this good in the 70s it would have saved many battles between me and the evil parents who forced us to clean our teeth. The texture is almost rubbery, which was weird the first couple of times but I came to really love the way it works. In all seriousness, I feel like my teeth are cleaner than they've ever been before thanks to this product. J&J, if you ever discontinue this product I'll RIOT!
Love Reach Total Care Floss - So Far
February 5, 2017
Reach Total Care Floss seemed to be a new product; so I tried it. And, I really like the slight "slippery-ness" and the "stretchiness." It is easy to remove from the container; it is easy to hold in your fingers; it is easy to slide between your teeth; and, it is easy to extract from your teeth, either by tugging or sliding. It will be several months before my dental hygienist will be passing judgement on its actual effectiveness, but if she says OK, I'm sold!
Feels like going to the dentist.
September 22, 2015
I could not find dentotape anywhere at the big box stores: Target, Walmart, etc. The only place I could find it was on Amazon. Why do I like dentotape? It feels like it's really cleaning your teeth after you floss -- the kind of clean feeling you get after going to the dentist. A pack of 6 is a lot? Yes, it will last a lifetime, but if you're flossing everyday as you should be doing, it still goes a long way.The only thing about dentotape is that if your teeth are too closely packed together, sometimes it feels like you're pulling your own teeth out when you're trying to get the dentotape out from in between your teeth. Other than that, once you get used to it, it really does clean in between your teeth better. Now for the ultimate question: Do you floss before or after brushing your teeth?
Love these!!!
September 29, 2014
Buying floss is like choosing between shoes. I think it boils down to a matter of preference since everyone's set of teeth are so different. Nonetheless I will give my opinion on these. Some context; Previous to using Reach Total Care floss, I was using Oral B's Glide which are highly rated. I didn't like those too much because they broke easily and quite often. Maybe I don't have wide enough gaps to use these? Interestingly enough, many reviewers for Oral B's Glide say that they don't fray easily. Goes to show each person's situation is different than the next. What's more, my wife prefers Oral B VS. Reach Total Care. Maybe her flossing technique is better than mine? Maybe she doesn't have as many tight spaces between her teeth ( although her teeth seems normal). All I know that for my situation, I find Reach Total Care to be superior to Oral B's Glide. They don't snap as Much with a capital M, there is a level of elasticity to Reach's that is non-existent to Oral B's which contributes to longer-lasting floss and they are a tad thinner than Oral B's which may also add to its duress in my case. One last point, many people say that Oral B's don't make them bleed. Sounds like a lot of horsec*ck! From my experience experience, the only reason I bled when flossing with any floss was because my gum lines were not use to the aggressive act of flossing. After a week or so of flossing, I would not bleed. And that's using all sorts of flossing. So I think people sometimes don't know what they are talking about. I am sure some people have bleeding issues when flossing with certain kinds of floss on a constant basis, but these are outliers. I am not addressing those folks.
Much better than standard floss
March 22, 2014
I tried this for the first time while staying at my sister's house during a visit. I saw it on the bathroom counter and it looked interesting, so I gave it a shot. I was instantly impressed by how much better it felt compared to the Oral B Glide I've used for several years. The stretchy rubber floss of Reach Total Care does not cut into my fingers nearly as much like other floss, and that alone is enough for me to pick it over other floss. But that's not all--it's thicker stretchy material also means that it cleans more thoroughly when the gap between the teeth are bigger, yet because it is stretchy, it can still go into narrow gaps without any problem. Another thing I love about it is that it'll never shred or break. Some people mentioned that it will snap like a rubber-band, and that is kind of true. If you tried to use it exactly like any other normal floss, it will snap out from the gap between your teeth like a rubber-band, and food debris will shoot out onto your bathroom mirror. To remedy the problem, what you should do, is to keep your fingers closer, and when you pull the floss out from a gap between teeth, keep your hands close to your mouth, and reshape the contour of your lips so they cover the opening of your mouth more. Also, pull a bit slower on the floss and using a back and forth motion when necessary. None of this is difficult--I can still floss at roughly the same speed as with normal floss, and the change in how I hold the floss and shape my mouth and how I move my hands are not more difficult--simply different.Until I discover a better floss, this is going to be it for me.
500 yards of floss!

Lots of floss and it's my favorite brand and flavor. I've tried just about every other kind of floss on the market and I keep coming back to this one.

the product is fine. however
November 6, 2016
the product is fine. however, I used to use reach "total care", which I like very much. when I was trying to order it on amazon, I didn't see clearly this product has Reach sign, but without "total care". The quality of the product is so different. but of course the price of this one is much cheaper. If I were to order again, I would still order "total care". don't make the same mistake like me if you prefer "total care".
Nice floss
August 1, 2016
The Johnson & Johnson waxed floss is a fine floss. It's strong and the wax provides a good grip. The 55 yard boxes are good for most people. But if you floss every night, I think that you should look at the 200 yard floss instead. You'll get more floss for the price. No matter what size you get, I still recommend the J&J waxed floss.
It's okay
July 21, 2016
This is a dental tape more than a floss. It took some practice to use it properly as I have always used floss. But, the more I use it, the more I like it. I'm not sure if it really whitens teeth but it surely won't hurt them. I'll keep using it.
it is just dental floss
April 11, 2016
There isn't much to say about this order. It's just a dental floss. I think it's still cheaper if I bought from Walmart but I got lazy to buy it from there. Walmart isn't near.I like the taste of this and this goes between my teeth better that just the plain mint one. It seems the closer to the end, the lesser the applied wax is.
Cost effective way to buy Reach floss
November 2, 2014
After trying several types of floss, I decided that the "Reach" waxed floss worked the best for me. The gaps between my teeth are too narrow for dental tape. Unfortunately, Reach floss will tend to shred where gaps are extremely tight, but I've found ways of using it that minimize shredding. I use a lot of floss, and often floss twice each time. So, cost can be an important factor. With this brand, the larger the container, the lower the unit price. The most economical container size is the one with 200 yards, but it doesn't dispense well. The (waxed) floss tends to get stuck in the 200 yard containers, and pulling it out becomes very difficult. I'm buying the 100 yard dispensers in this 5-pack to take advantage of cost savings, as well as avoid extra trips to the local store. Also, around here, it's hard to find this intermediate size (100 yard) container.
Good floss, easy on the gums
October 26, 2013
This is decent floss, it has a nice flavor, it tastes like spearmint gum. This floss may take a few days for you to get used to if you like using pro-glide floss, as the material is very different. This floss is made of yarn that is coated with wax; it is heavily coated, which allows the floss to glide easily without irritating your gums. This 4 pack lasts us about 5 months with two people flossing almost daily. The floss can shred at times, and the shredded floss can get stuck in-between your teeth, getting the shredded floss out from in-between your teeth can be annoying, you may have to brush or floss it out.PROS:- Great flavor, tastes like spearmint gum.- Made of wax coated yarn for slick gliding between teeth.- Easy on the gums.CONS:- The floss sometimes shreds at times and can get stuck in-between your teeth.Country of Origin: Brazil

Used to be my favorite.
July 4, 2017
For a long time, this was my favorite floss. Why? Because it didn't shred as much as most other brands. But I'll let you in on a secret. I recently tried a brand called PRO-SYS. And I like it better. It's a lot better in regards to (not) shredding.
Too much plastic packaging
March 6, 2017
Way too much packaging for bulk floss. I really like this type of floss since it's thick and flavorless. However, it arrived inside two layers of plastic bags, inside the box with the normal amount of air-filled plastic padding, plus the individual packages. Extremely excessive and wasteful amount of plastic protection for floss. It's just floss.
gets the job done but still not that great
December 3, 2016
after running out of my Oral B Glide floss (the ones that come in a teal/blue/grey square box) i decided to try these out for the price and the extremely positive reviews. while the floss works okay and get the job done, i highly recommend getting the Oral B brand because they are just superior in every way although the cost is more. im almost certain the only reason why these are 5 stars is because people haven't tried the Oral B ones. seriously, those are the best (they have five stars too).
decent floss but not amazing
May 4, 2016
Everyone has been writing such great reviews about this but it's honestly not that amazing. It does have a great smell, but the worst part about it that really bothers me is it shreds between my teeth. I didn't have that problem with other brands I've used. It's quite possible that it's because my teeth are so closely spaced that I'm experiencing this issue.I like the fact that it's waxed, it gives me a better grip in my hands when I floss. I probably would by it again for the price, but I can't rate it higher because it just doesn't work in my opinion.I also don't like the packaging, but I guess there's only so much you can do when you need to store 100 yards. I would recommend trying it once for yourself. I wouldn't recommend it in passing to anyone I know, but it's just floss. I don't feel like I need to be so picky.
O.K.--but not nearly as good as the earlier version!
December 27, 2014
This is an O.K. floss, better than the "dollar store" variety. BUT it's not nearly as good as the previous J+J version, which is housed in the identical container, and is called by the same name. The old version is quite a bit thicker, but stretches slightly to get to narrow spaces between teeth. The new version is much thinner, hence much rougher on fingers and gums. By the way, flossing is at least as important as brushing (but don't floss more than once/day). That's because flossing daily greatly reduces the risk of gum disease, which itself can be quite unpleasant. But gum disease also greatly increases risk of coronary artery disease and heart attacks, probably because the gum disease sets off a body-wide generalized inflammatory response.
Five stars for product, one star for packaging
July 19, 2014
EDIT 7/22/14: I finally wrote an email to Amazon, explaining the problem an suggesting they contact the manufacturer, not the vendor. They quickly wrote back that they had done this, and gave me a full credit for the defective items, and suggested I reorder.I did, and the three new ones are all fine, no problem at all pulling out the floss. So, as I wrote at the end of my previous review (below),I now give it five stars, as it is the best floss I have ever used. And, it even comes out of the container. :DAs always, Amazon has the best customer service in the known Universe.===========================================The floss is very good, BUT all three packages are defective. It is impossible to pull the floss out, it is firmly stuck. I took off the top and was able to pull some off, but if not careful, it will fall apart, so has to be put back each time. It is not worth going through this each time I want to floss, which is a shame, as I do like this better than regular floss. The stretching is helpful, and it is the only floss I can find that won't break when forced between close-together teeth. If it could be removed from the container, it would be a five-star product, but as is, it is useless.Too bad, as Amazon won't let me ask for a replacement, and I am not going to risk this much money buying another three--pack againEdit again, 8/5/16: Right back with the terrible problem getting the tape out with the latest package of 3 I bought. One did not have the tape coming out of the hole on top, so had to take it all apart, thread it through, put back, an found still difficult to pull it out, and had to pull really hard to get it out, each time until I finally reached the end. This is the most annoying product I ever saw. They have not fixed it at all since I first started using it years ago. As goo as it is, never going to buy it again, as it is just too ifficult to use.

Wrong item sent
July 9, 2017
I ordered floss and the plastic bag the 6 individual items were placed in as a group has a label that says floss but THE INDIVIDUAL PACKAGES FROM THE MANUFACTURER ALL SAY TAPE. I know there is a difference between the two styles because I have tried both and ordered the one I wanted. The manufactured packages have different labels, if you look at them.
It comes apart easily and gets stuck in my teeth
November 18, 2015
I decided to purchase Reach floss because it was cheaper than the brand I usually buy which is Glide. Reach is disappointing. It comes apart easily and gets stuck in my teeth. The wax seems to cause Reach to not slide between one's teeth as easily as other floss. Next time I'm buying Glide.
Pass...
July 12, 2015
Reach floss may be less expensive, but it's not a better value because of its low quality. It's thinner than what I'm used to, and doesn't feel like it really cleans in between my teeth very well. It seems to have much less wax too, so even though it's thinner, it doesn't slide between my teeth as easily as the other floss I'd been using. The floss also splits into strings much easier than the other brand, which is a bit annoying. I'm disappointed with this product, I'll be switching back to the more expensive, better quality floss.
VERY Disappointed!
June 22, 2015
I purchased the 6 pack of this product through Amazon about three years ago after it couldn't be found in the grocery store anymore. I reordered recently. I always liked this product because it did a superior job of getting things between my teeth, good feel and taste. This product has been cheapened in every way - almost to the point of being unusable. When I went to use the first dispenser I noticed I couldn't pull any more floss out. I opened the top and needed to pull out a few feet to get it to a point where I could at least pull some out without getting stuck. As I was pulling I noticed the floss was noticeably thinner and also very rough. It now appears like every other cheap floss you get at the store. The dispenser, spool, cutter have all be cheapened. I can get floss out of it but have to shake and pull and it dispenses very rough. I will use these until they are gone. I don't have a reason to keep using this brand over anything else I can buy. Very disappointed in the loss of quality in this product.
Disappointed
May 9, 2015
I bought the 6-pack of these because my teeth are close together and tear apart most dental floss. I remembered that the Johnson & Johnson (the label before it was called "Reach") UNWAXED dental tape I used to buy would get me through a full flossing with no breaking. They didn't have it at my grocery store or costco so I found it here (at least the waxed version). But they must have changed the formula, because my teeth are shredding this floss - just as easily as all the other types of floss my wife and I have tried. It's possible that the waxed tape always performed like this and that the unwaxed would still work, but I couldn't find any unwaxed for sale.Anyway, it's partly my fault - I should have tried one package before I bought 6. I just assumed this would perform as well as the J&J tape from 10-20 years ago did...
Disappointed and concerned
January 28, 2014
Having difficulty finding unwaxed floss locally, I was delighted to find I could order it through the website; and ordering the pack of 12 was to save me trouble for a good period of time. My own error was to not realize this was not the woven type that works well on my particular teeth and gum issues. This is much thinner, allowing it to get hooked in some areas, and does not clean the teeth as the woven floss does. This is not to say that other users, without the conditions I must address, would not be satisfied. In addition, the individual packages within the set do NOT state the yardage, the expected 55 or otherwise, leaving me unsure of what is actually in each package. Since the picture shown for the product definitely has "55 yards" printed on it, it leaves me wondering if I actually got what was advertised. For both these reasons this has been a disappointing and costly choice. But, again, that does not mean other customers could not find more satisfaction with the product.

Would not work for me. It never moved effectively between my teeth, It kept catching & dragging between teeth. I'll only get the glide type from now on.
False Product
June 24, 2017
No joke, but I believe this product is a fake. The packaging did not come as previously ordered, the logo was not printed on the floss container but rather a poor quality sticker, and the floss is extemely waxy compared to how this floss is normally.
