| Descent set of ceramic knives for the price.August 3, 2017 Bought to replace the old steel set we have, they don't hold a blade very well..That's the only complaint I have about ceramic knives in general. But then I own a WorkSharp so keeping the blades sharp is no problem. I really like the meat scissors that came with the set for deboning chicken and the significant other likes them so I'm good with them! ... OF THESE KNIVES FOR YEARS AND I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH ITJune 7, 2016 I HAD ONE OF THESE KNIVES FOR YEARS AND I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH IT. I HAVE A TRADITONAL SET OF KITCHEN KNIVES I COLD PASS UP A SET OF THESE FOR THE PRICE THEY WERE BEING OFFERED AT.THEY ARRIVED TODAY THE 7TH OF JUNE. I HAD A WHOLE SALMON AND I KNEW IF I ATTEMPTED TO CUT STEAKS OFF OF IT I WAS GOING TO BE PISSED. LIKE A ID AT CHRISTMAS I RIPPED THE BOX OPEN TO GET AT MY PRIZE MY KUDO'S ALSO ON THE WAY THE KNIVES WERE SHIPPED. IN THE PROCESS I BROKE MY KITCHEN SHEARS ,IMPETUOUS OLD AGE ,I 'M 71. SO THEY WENT RIGHT INTO THE TRASH. THE KNIFE I CHOSE WENT THROUGH THAT WHOLE SALMON LIKE A KNIFE THROUGH BUTTER . I AM GLAD I READ THE LITERATURE THAT THE COMPANY EMAILED I HAD THOSE BAD BOYS IN THE DISHWASHER ALREADY,CLEAN AS YOU GO. I AM GOING TO RETRIVE MY KIDS AND GIVE THEM AA HAND BATH. Initially I didn't know I was buying ceramic knives. Plus the set comes with a very stylish setup. They have surpassed my stainless steel knives in sharpness. Although you have to be extra careful in caring for them, I have had no problem. I would definitely buy them again and recommend them to my friends and family! After using them just for a few days, I've already ordered another set as a birthday gift for a friend who has also been wanting to try ceramic knives. The 6" knife has already become my go-to knife for fruits and vegies - I like that it is longer than a usual paring knife. I've cut large rhubarb stalks in the garden with ease and just tried a new recipe using fennel bulbs that it cut effortlessly. Although I haven't owned them long enough to comment on durability, I'm giving 5 stars right off the bat based on handle design - no more bashing my knuckles when chopping/dicing. The holder is plastic which is not as nice as the knives but it is an interesting streamlined design - I took the scissor holder off to make mine fit in a tight space. The external packaging is first rate making it an especially nice gift. I believe the $39.95 that I paid for the 4 knife set was an exceptional value for that price. | | | |

Love my knives!September 1, 2017 I only have one gripe which is that they stain if you leave food on them for a period of time and don't wash them right away. One of my knives is no longer pearly white but the color of the vegetables that I cut up. LESSON LEARNED...But overall, I think they are great and they look amazing on my countertop. The stand has a small footprint, which I like (I am replacing /supplementing an 18-pc block set). I wish the slots could be locked into an upright, or at least adjustable, position; the angles you see in the pic are how they sit. I have used all of them and they are certainly sharper than my inexpensive, never-sharpened, 8+ year-old stainless steel knives. Once I get those sharpened, it'll be interesting to see how they compare. My only gripe is that they seem to stain easily. I chopped up a yam and the white blade was stained orange. Every time family members come over, they comment as to how dull these are. Not to mention they cannot go into my dishwasher. 1 extra star because they look nice on my granite counter-top. I cut myself just removing the wrapping and I've found the edge of scisccor very sharp. I don't think i will use it just to be safe. I've never used ceramic knives as discussed as these, the day I received them I tried with limited success to cut into a lemon (only one knife cut through without having to use the point of the knife to pierce it), a tomato, and a bell pepper. I had an amazing ceramic set purchased from Amazon (in addition to my normal stainless steel set) for a little over a year and they were incredible, super sharp and lightweight yet they were beginning to dull so I wanted a new set. Ordered these and just attempted to use them, ALL are completely dull. Couldn't even cut through a lime or grapefruit.
