Very comfortable and durable boots
September 23, 2015
I've worked jobs where I've been on my feet all day for the past 8 or 10 years and I almost always wear boots. I bought these a couple months ago and these are by far the best boots I've had yet. I've worn them almost every day since I've had them and so far they show almost no signs of unexpected wear. As of now these are my go-to boots and if they still look good in a couple of months I'll be buying another pair (not because I expect the ones I have to wear out anytime soon, but just to have an backup pair in the closet for the future in case these get discontinued or something).
Awesome!
August 9, 2015
So took these shoes on a 5 hour hike yesterday to give em a test drive. Not only do they look good but they function way better than i expected. Traction was awesome on practically every surface I encountered. Super lightweight and doesn't weigh you down at all. Way comfortable right out of the box. I was worried about a break in period but that was definitely not the case at all for the whole five hours my feet felt fine. No discomfort, no rubbing, no soreness, good ankle support. I can honestly say I am blown away with how affordable these boots are and how amazing they are. Once these get worn out I WILL buy again! Thanks Columbia!
As of now, VERY NICE BOOTS. I'm impressed.
July 20, 2015
Hello there. Please watch my video review for a nice "look-around" of this fine pair of boots. Here's my quick written review:-- These boots look awesome.-- They are very light-weight and comfortable.-- I am a size 14, and they fit me perfectly.-- I don't foresee any type of "break-in" period, as they feel just right out of the box. I wore them for six hours straight, with no pain or wear and tear on my ankles or anywhere else.-- Excellent tread.-- Durability remains to be seen, but I will certainly update this review if they are not durable.Overall I am very satisfied. You just may be, as well :)
Best shipment ever.
July 16, 2015
Ordered these boots after seeing them on sale right on the Columbia site, for a few dollars less, and free shipping.I placed my Saturday morning at 8 am and received the package Sunday by 10am. How they managed that is impressive. Too bad all amazon purchases didn't work this flawlessly. Kudos to the shipper. On the review of the boot, very very grippy soles with good amount of ankle padding and support. Insole leaves something to be desired, but a decent aftermarket insert, which is recommended for hiking anyhow, will alleviate that problem. All in all an amazing boot for the price. NO WATERPROOFING.
Love these shoes
June 6, 2015
Love these shoes. Ordered them as I was going hiking and doing some work in a mountainous desert region, but also wanted to a pair to wear while hiking greener and wetter areas. Great boot. I can easily wear all day. Wore them recently while travelling and flying across the country, wore them after landing and driving 4 hours to my destination. Wore them all day the next day while hiking and on foot all day. Very comfortable.Only complaint is they don't breathe as well as I'd like, but that's the Gortex's fault and more or less what you can expect from any water proof shoe. Even if you just wear them around the house/yard and don't do anything labor intensive, you can expect some sweaty feet when you take them off. Not really an issue with sneakers and other shoes I own, but none of the other shoes are water proof...
Look good. Keep feet dry in sloppy winter weather
February 8, 2015
Don't cheap out on shoes. Look good. Keep feet dry in sloppy winter weather. These are my ONLY shoes. Bought a 2nd pair for when these wear out. No "break in " period. Always use "hikers" as my shoe choice. Hikers are always designed first for comfort. I was driving through South Dakota one year, saw a Cabellas. Tried on a pair of $90 hikers and my feet felt soooo good that I always used some kind of hikers. Even when I needed safety shoes. These fit the bill for me nicely. No more sore feet for me. Nice price. Last a while. Name brand needs to keep up reputation....

... as light as a sneaker but get traction at good as a logger boot
August 4, 2015
These things are as light as a sneaker but get traction at good as a logger boot. Very good ankle support for a shoe. and comfortable! I forget that I have these things on sometimes. I work as a cook and have no problem standing through a 12 hour shift in these things. the one problem is, these things are not even close to waterproof.
Hiking Boot Surprise!
August 3, 2015
It's a very nice hiking boot. I bought them in preparation for a camping trip that would include various hikes. I wore the boots the week prior and noticed that I could wear it all day with out any discomfort. They're light and the fit is very nice, especially for boots. Being a retired Marine, I'm no longer lean (260#) and my feet have seen the ill effects of wearing combat boots extensively. On the hikes, these boots did exceptionally well. The terrain was mixed sand/dirt, basalt and granite. Grip was very good on the climb and I was able to descend with little discomfort on my knees or heels.I would recommend these boots.
Great shoe for the price, with one exception... :(
August 1, 2015
All in all, a pretty good shoe! They fit pretty much as expected with a little extra length for my piggies. The toebox was a little too narrow, so that'll take some time to break in before they're good. But for the price, they're solid!**UPDATE** After wearing them around the house for a while, the toebox was just way too narrow to be comfortable. The ends of the shoe seem to diverge into a point at the toe which crushed my pinky toe and made the shoes un-wearable. Unfortunately, I'll have to return these :( They look good, though!
I got these for taking easy hikes and just casual wear
July 22, 2015
I got these for taking easy hikes and just casual wear. I wanted something that isn't real stiff but still provides support. These do that very well. The sizing is almost perfect for me if I add an additional insole for support. Without that they are just a tad large and wide, volume wise. Length is good. The color that I bought, black/ red (although the only red is the lace islets) is not the most stylish, but I went for price since the cool looking tan and brown boots of the exact same model were $20. plus more. I figured since they'll get dirty anyway, color doesn't matter. They are worth the $50. or so that I paid. I can't tell yet how well they will hold up after using them for what they are intended for but the quality appears to be good.
So far - after wearing them once - I am very satisfied with these hiking boots - time will tell.
April 26, 2015
Arch support knowledge will come with time. I can't tell after wearing them for 1 hour. They are very comfortable. They fit just as they are supposed to - 10 1/2 & med width is just as they should be.5/8/15 - (Update) After wearing them and walking for 4 hours in these boots my feet were a little sore on the soles as the boots are not soft where the foot bottom meets the boot. I tried again the next day with a set of insoles and that fixed the problem and made them feel very comfortable. I will keep them and wear them on long walks or hikes.
Wish They Were A Bit Longer
April 24, 2015
These boots are a bit shorter than the low top Columbia's (can't remember the name) I've been wearing, and I'm a bit leery of doing much downhill hiking. Otherwise, they seem to fit fine, and I've been able to comfortably wear them for several hours at a time. Since the width is just fine in this size (10 for me), I'm not sure I'd want to go up another half size to get the little extra length I'd need to keep my toes from hitting the end of the boot on the downhills. They do seem to be well constructed, and, I think, fairly light for a hiking boot. I'll try to get back and post an update after I've worn them on some ups and downs.

Nice Shoes, TOOOOO SMALLLLL
December 11, 2015
I liked these shoes once I bought them, returned them because they were too small, bought the next size up, returned the originals, and THEN could enjoy them.I gave them a 3 because I've never had a pair of shoes fit as poorly as these did for my size. I made the mistake of not following the advice of some of the other reviews. DON'T IGNORE YOUR FELLOW HUMANS, these things were easily a 9.5 for my size 10 feet. When I got the 10.5's, my feet sunk into them with a welcome sigh of relief, no toe-mashing required.
I have poor ankles and wanted a higher shoe for ankle support ...
August 23, 2015
I have poor ankles and wanted a higher shoe for ankle support to prevent folding. I had a pair of French shoes of this style that worked extremely well; however, the soles have begun shredding after several years of use, so I was looking for a less expensive alternative. These shoes provide some support but not the strong grip of the others. In general, though, I have not had any incidents of ankle rolling and am satisfied.Revised review. Purchased in 2015. This past week (8/2017) cloth loop for boot lace frayed apart - can't replace loop as it's sewn in between two pieces of upper leather. Upon inspection found all of the cloth loops in the upper portion of the boot showed signs of fraying. I don't know if two years is about right for these shoes or not but having to put them aside because of cloth loops seems very unfortunate. Other than that, they were good boots and I never had a rolled ankle while wearing them. I am trying some other Columbia boots that use metal loops.
Just OK Boots
July 31, 2015
Good day hiking boots. I would not recommend wearing these boots in any kind of bad weather. For the price they are great for long walks and easy trails. I think the boots are decently comfortable and serve their purpose.
Slip Slidin' Away
July 17, 2015
Not at all like Columbia used to be. Not even close. Fabric separated early. Rubber delaminated. Needs aftermarket insoles. The laces were good, though...
Too Small
May 8, 2015
My toes are up against the front of the boot which makes is difficult hiking down hills. I have always worn a 10.5 but these boots are too short. Maybe my feet are growing.
Not bad, but not what I expected either
December 16, 2014
I ordered my normal size 12, but my foot feels like it's swimming in these boots. They seem to be pretty well made, but I had a pair of Columbia boots I wore til they fell apart, and these aren't the same quality or fit as the prior pair. I don't wear these nearly as often as I'd hoped I'd be.

Holes above the toes appeared too soon
November 15, 2015
Although these boots have been quite comfortable, the fabric above the toes has already worn through, leaving holes. Haven't had that problem before with other Columbia boots or with Merrells. Doesn't affect their utility for hiking but their appearance now limits where I can wear them.
These boots were good until they got wet
July 16, 2015
These boots were good until they got wet. they are not water resistant, which is the whole reason for ordering them. They smell horible once you wear them and get them wet. If you are looking for a good quality hiking and water resistant boot, this is NOT IT!
they look good, good price
June 10, 2015
they look good, good price. Good brand. But these are not hiking boots at all. Not supportive enough. After wearing them for less than a month my feet were killing me by the end of the day. Even put more supportive insoles in them. Didn't help long. Would not buy again
Boots: Good if they work. Warranty: 1 year but you pay shipping. Customer Service: They only do so much but don't respond
June 4, 2015
The boots overall are good. They fit as expected (I went a size higher because everyone said it fit small, but those were too big), and overall they are pretty sturdy. After wearing these boots for about 3-4 months, however, a hole developed in the cloth area that covers the toes in one of the boots, which meant that water, rain, snow, etc. would get in and my feet would get wet (which defeats the purpose of having the boots).I contacted customer service to see if I could get a replacement or if it can get fixed. The good news: they have a one year warranty that covers issues like this. The bad news: you have to pay for shipping to send it out to them (for me, it was $13). Of course, they try to make it sound like a fair trade, saying that I would cover for paying for shipping the boots to them and in return, they would pay for shipping the fixed/new boots out to me.But what good is that, especially if it is a defect? Why would I need to pay more money to use a warranty? So in order to have a good pair of boots and use its warranty, you would need to pay more in order to utilize the warranty. So it may cost you more than what you originally paid for.I tried to email customer service to ask them if I can talk to someone about this issue because as a consumer I should not have to pay extra to fix a product. I wanted to either get shipping covered or get a full return and take my business elsewhere. After emailing the customer representative I have been trying to contact three times, they have yet to respond. So I do not plan on returning to Columbia for future purchases unless they resolve this issue for me (again, it has to meet my minimum expectations for me to return to them). So, good product for the most part; horrible warranty and customer service.
... shoes because of the fit (somewhat small) and the poor quality of their construction
April 19, 2015
I returned these shoes because of the fit (somewhat small) and the poor quality of their construction.
Made to look "outdoorsy" in the grocery store...
March 10, 2015
Just received these boots, first problem -- too narrow. I know this won't be a problem for everyone, but I generally have no issue with standard width shoes/boots. But after having these boots on for a few minutes I knew hiking in these boots wouldn't work based on how my feet were being positioned.Build -- felt like I was slipping my feet into a plastic garbage pail. Little or no support is built into the boot. There is absolutely no way I would step onto a path wearing these things.Net: If you have narrow feet and don't plan on hiking with these boots, you might want to give them a try -- they're light weight and stylish -- after all you can always return them. If you are planning on doing even light trail hiking, there's probably no point in buying. My lesson? If unless you're buying the same style/brand, it might make sense to head to a sporting goods store.Less learned.

Water absorbent boots.
May 4, 2016
This boot is not typical Columbia quality. They suck, and they suck up water. Not even water RESISTANT, they are water ABSORBENT. I've never even attempted a stream crossing with these, as just walking through 3" high wet grass for ten minutes has completely soaked my socks. The insoles had to be re-glued in place after about three months of light use, as they would slide back up the heel as I walked. The traction on wet rock is somewhat less than what I've experienced with comparable boots. When footwear fails to deliver, it's the kiss of death as far as I'm concerned with a company.
Not worth even what I paid
August 15, 2015
Boots seem cheap and not that comfortable! I thought Columbia was a better brand Then these turned out to be.
narrow
August 13, 2015
A little narrow, I just hope they last longer than the last pair.ok, 6 months later and there already ripped, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
stay away
July 2, 2015
these boots are too small, flimsy, of poor quality, and should cost ten bucks! this is a shame but i guess it is this" throw away age" of amazon consumers is what allows companies that sell stuff to me, the poor sob. get away with selling hiking boots that pretty much SUCK!
