I have learned it is worth the extra money for quality in cookware, even for the home. saw cheaper ones but not nearly the quality. Only complaint so far is that the pasta strainer sits a little to far from the bottom of the pot. The pot is slightly wider than the average stock pot of the same fluid capacity, but when adding 16 oz of pasta when it is full of water will cause overflow from the sides of the pot in between the pasta strainer and the pot. For small amounts of pasta this item is perfect but if you are going to be making more than 12oz of pasta I would opt for a taller combo looks good and gets the job doneJuly 31, 2017 As advertised. | Strainer is useless.September 29, 2017 I bought this primarily for pasta, but the pasta insert is pretty useless. It doesn't reach the bottom of the pan so you have to use a ton of water. Then it took about a half hour to boil. Then the water kept boiling out between the insert and the pot, so I'd have to lower the burner, then it would stop boiling and I'd have to turn it up again. Then when I pulled the strainer out of the pot, boiling water shot out all over me. So I ended up taking an hour to boil a pound of spaghetti with half a pot of water to clean up all over my stovetop. TURNS FOOD BLACK!April 1, 2016 Well unfortunately I am unable to return this as the window for returns passed before I used it, but this product is the worst. I washed it prior to its first use as per the instructions, then proceeded to cook a big pot of pasta, only for it to TURN BLACK. In all my years of cooking food, I have NEVER seen a pan do this. Not really sure what to do with this since the seller won't take it back, but I certainly could not feed anyone anything cooked in this pan. Thought it was a good deal, but obviously you get what you pay for.
