Side by Side Comparison of: Pennzoil vs Mobil 1

Got some of the best oil analysis results of all oil options for Subaru WRX's on some forums online so I've been using it for the last year or so and it seems to be working great.

I bought this based on the recommendation of a YouTuber named FordTechMakuloco. In a video titled 2015 F-150 2.7L Ecoboost Oil Level Check he links to this item in his description and says it's the only oil he recommends for the Ecoboost engines.I have a new 2016 Ford F-150 with the 2.7L that just turned 5,000 and was due for the first oil change. I bought this along with the OEM Motorcraft filter and changed the oil myself, especially given the 15 minute wait requirement for drainback that still provides plenty of horror stories on the Internet about overfills at service garages because the don't wait long enough.I agree with several other reviewers and their results in other vehicles that the oil definitely made a difference in idle noise of my engine. I live in Wisconsin and even in cold starts (unheated garage) it seems to idle smoother until it warms up a bit.Also, the truck takes six quarts and with this package I have exactly the amount I need.Sad part is most local retailers stopped or never carried this product. Will definitely buy again from Amazon.

I don't have scientific evident to prove it but my engine is smoother and slightly more power, and that is my experience after changing to pennzoil.I have been using Mobil 1 for all my cars for the past 10 years after extensive internet research. I was convinced it is the best money can get. One time, I even stock up enough for 3 years when it was on sales.3 months ago, my wife sent her car (2001 odyssey with 130k miles) for state inspection and she got the engine oil changed at the same shop. Boy! I notice the difference immediately. Engine smoother and slightly more power. I checked and they use Pennzoil. I did another extensive internet research and am convinced Pennzoil synthetic is good stuff. I also changed oil in my car (2014 Nissan Altima) with pennzoil. The difference is not as much but it is more quiet than Mobil 1. I am convinced and I am stocking up pennzoil now due to 2016 rebate. I think I have enough for 2 years. Yay.....

I've used Pennzoil Platinum or Pennzoil Ultra in my 3.6L 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee & my wife's 2012 Ford Edge since day one. Both vehicles are now over 80,000 miles and run great. The biggest difference I've noticed between this and oils I've used in the past (in other vehicles) is with cold weather starting. With Pennzoil synthetics both of our vehicles start without hesitation or that dry/clunky noise on winter mornings.

Ok, maybe 'life-blood' is a little bit of an exaggeration. It is true, however, that your engine relies on lubrication so all those metal parts move freely and your investment(vehicle) gets you from A to B. I've been using exclusively Penzoil Platinum 5W-30 on my vehicles for almost 10 years(as long as I've been doing my own oil changes). Before I would just look for coupons to whomever was offering the cheapest 10-minute oil changes and repeat every 3,000 miles. Then my eyes were opened to the miracles of synthetic oil and extended oil change intervals!My vehicles for the last decade or so have all shared the same oil requirement(5W-30) on the oil cap and as stated in the manuals. Yes, there are hypermilers out there who swear by thinner oils for even better fuel economy, but I stick with what the manufacturer recommends - for the most part. I have found the Pennzoil Platinum to be a durable oil that in combination with extended interval oil filters(in my case Mobil1 Extended Performance) can provide adequate protection up to 10,000 miles.My wife's car has almost 200,000 miles on it and has been on this 'diet' since new and runs great! Since I do all the oil changes myself this limits me to around 2 changes a year on her car and once a year on mine(shares the same engine, but different models). Again, the oil is just half the equation. You need a quality filter that is designed for higher intervals. Even the manufacturers have said that every 3,000 miles is unnecessary under normal driving - and that's with cheapo filters and Dino-oil(conventional oil). With a premium filter with double the holding capacity and synthetic oil I don't believe 10,000 miles is unreasonable.Disclaimer: This is purely my opinion and not advice of an automobile professional. Best Synthetic 5W-30 for the Money. Same price as what Walmart here locally in Indiana is selling it for on their shelves. This Oil protects and cleans very well. It is made from Natural Gas and is very, very clean Oil. For the Money, it is the best deal. I use it in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata Turbo 2.0T and change it every 4,800 to 5,000 Miles. It helped improve my gas mileage as well by 1-2 MPG.

I use this for my 2011 Chevy Cruze Eco, and man, what a difference does it make!Great on MPG, this oil is not fully synthetic, despite the bottle saying it is!It's very close though, the color of the oil is almost transparent.The smell has a strange chemical smell, a bit like moss, but surely not healthy, and not like regular oil.I'm sure it has the right cocktail of chemicals to make your engine last longer.After doing an oil change in the dealership, I noted my engine was vibrating at idle, as if the oil they used was bad.I added less than an 8th of this to the mix, and man, it made the whole engine smooth!Sounds like magic, and I'm sure it is!I'm sold, never will buy other oil anymore!!!

I am sure what to say besides the price was right for synthetic oil.... it is supposed to be one of the best. Can't say if any better than others, with type of products only your engine knows and it is not talking. Glad to buy at a good price.

Good oil,I use it in my Altima, Mobilmakes good oil,I use Mobil High Mileagein our Chevy Malibu, works great. I'vechanged my own oil for years,I believe itimportant to the engine's life to use good oiland change it regular.The price is good toofor synthetic oil.

Based on my review, this is the best oil for your mini cooper S. It's a beautiful oil that will keep your engine running at properly at high mileage. I highly recommend getting this.

this item I use all the timefor my Pontiac G-5,works great,has 104 ,000 miles on my car, so is why I usethis full synthetic oil,, for my car, works great.....:)

It good oil

Usually a pretty good price and works just as good as any of the other major brand synthetics. Unless you're racing or doing something crazy with your car/truck, most major brand synthetics are just fine of everyday use.

I love this stuff. Its a very good oil with very good uoa results. This resists fuel delution from turbocharged direct injection motors as well as the heat from the turbocharger very well.This also is pretty dam good at resisting the cooking affect that can happen if useing e85 in a direct injection fuel pump. The result of e85 and hot oil film is black sticky goop that fubars the pump.This is a good price .They have 5quart jugs that are a better deal but sadly my 4 banger motor takes 6 quarts so the extra loose quart makes this the better deal.Shipping was fast. I gave 5 stars instead of 4 because it can be had a tad bit cheaper and the price flucuated over time 5-6 bucks.

This is good oil. and I got it for less than 23$ each. Have a Saturn Sky and a Buick that like it. Amazon Prime price and free shipping, so I have no idea how "regular retail" auto parts stores survive now........well I guess they have to make it only due to emergent issues people have.

So far so good, got it for lawn mower.

Good alternative only when I cant find Amsoil.

First time trying Mobil. I've always used Castrol oil. I am going to be testing them back and forth but it seems like it works very well.

Imagine my surprise when I looked on the side of the NEW container & realized there was just over four quarts of oil in the listed 5 quart container.Very disappointing.

This review is for Amazon packaging and shipping. The product itself seemed fine however Amazon apparently doesn't know how to ship it so that it doesn't leak. It made a mess on my doorstep and other parts of the house where it dripped. I lost about half a quart of the product. Extremely disappointed. Product itself seems ok but this is also the first time I am using this specific product.

I use this oil and it works well, am giving it 3 stars because the damn thing is mineral oil and is not synthetic oil. If you want synthetic oil it's packaging must say 100% synthetic oil. I have no complaints on the product just a problem with the misleading labels on the package. These misleading labels are only used in USA and not in Europe. Go figure!!!

Oil took longer to receive than expected. The picture on the bottle looks like it has a 2 in front of the Dexos logo but it is a 1 with a little symbol that make it look like a 2. Luckily I have one vehicle that can use Dexos1 but I thought I was getting Dexos 2 which my other vehicle requires.

The oil is great, but do not recommend ordering it online. The package arrived and was soaked in oil. All the tops seemed to not tighten all the way. Spend the extra dollar and get it locally.

I was using Castrol synthetic before this and I have noticed a reduction in Miles Per Gallon using Pennzoil. I use the trip meter to check how many miles I get every time I fill up the gas tank. When I had Castrol I averaged 280 miles every full tank of gas, with Pennzoil it has went down to 220. This oil will be in the car for 6 months and over this time $$$ at the pump will start to add up and the few dollars I saved buying this oil will be nothing compared to the extra amount I will spend in gas. I'm sure this is good oil just not for my car, going back to Castrol.

It was opened.

Came leading in the box.

It looks like two of the containers had already been opened. The box holding the six quarts had also been opened and resealed, so I'm not sure if I got authentic Mobile 1. The open containers also allowed oil to leak all over, which made a mess.

one of the bottles leaked about an ounce and saturated the box making a mess over all the bottles. the post office had to put it in a separate plastic bag. it was too messy to bother sending back. It is an excellent motor oil though.

If you're buying this expecting to get the mail-in rebate. Don't bother. They disqualified me because I bought it on Amazon. Complete scam. Will never buy Pennzoil products again. Royal Dutch/Shell owns Pennzoil, so they're on the list as well.

Ordered three bottles of this item. One bottle was busted and leaked oil all over the inside of the box. Will cost me too much to ship it back for a replacement. Very disappointed.

Great product but I don't understand why the prices went up by around 12 dollars over night. It used to be 36~37 dollars but now it just boosted to 48 dollars for the box of 6. You might as well buy 6 individuals since its cheaper than buying a bulk. I don't understand why buying bulk is more expensive . . . . . . It needs to go back to the price it was last night then it would be back to 5 stars.

When box was delivered it was leaking one of the bottles inside the box was not on properly and leaked all over the box and all over my brand new jacket.
