Sturdy keyboard for the price
February 18, 2016
The AULA LED Keyboard is a well-built attractive keyboard for the price. It features three different colors to switch about from blue, red, and pink. Colors are not too bright and look great in the dark. Keys aren't that loud and feel nice on the fingers. I have heard of reviews about this keyboard dying in a few weeks or months, but I have had no problems. It's still working perfectly and I have had this for over a year, so I guess I'm lucky mine is still going strong. The quality is great for the price and I think this looks as good as more expensive keyboards, although not on the same level of quality. I recommend this keyboard, and for the price you can't go wrong.
A beauty
December 16, 2014
The thing is beautiful, the led lights are bright with 3 colors blue, red, and pink. It is not loud when you press it and it also comes with see through keys, I put them on my (w,a,s,d and my arrow keys and numbpad 5) this is made with cheap plastic but I can't see it breaking though and plus its 30 dollars what do you expect, it does it's job and I recommend it
Really great keyboard. And for a great price.

This keyboard is rockin. The keys are so smooth and soft and typing on it is just so satisfying. The lighting on it is marvelous and the different settings are fun to play with. It also came with 8 transparent keys to replace, I'm assuming, the directional keys and the AWSD keys if you choose. I just used them on the directional ones and it looks really awesome.

My only beef if any is that yeah sometimes I end up hitting \ instead of enter because the key is weird but ive only had it the day and Im already getting used to it.

If this keyboard was a cute person I would probably kiss them.
Perfect. Big Answers to the usual questions....

I have been looking to replace my old Dell keyboard for a while, finally pulled the trigger. My criteria: 1- needs to be splash-proof, with actual drain holes. 2- Needs backlighting to shine through the individual keys, not just around the keys. Super picky, I know, but that's what I want. 3- Needs to be very responsive, not necessarily mechanical, but has to be snappy, can't have a funky layout or odd-shaped keys. 4- Can't have extra drivers, discs, or any other garbage to make it work. I need to be able to throw this thing in my backpack and hook into my normal laptop, or any server in a datacenter.

This keyboard fulfills all of these requirements, for much less money than most the others. You can get three of the four criteria for less money, but not all four, from all the hunting I've done here at Amazon. And I'm typing on it right now, it just plugged in, found itself, and went. And even in my dining room, under my skylight, I can clearly see it's backlit brightly (including through the keys) and looks fantastic. My 3 year old daughter asked to play with my new space ship, while pointing at it... my work here is done.

The keys are plastic, and do not have any silicone padding or anything. The key presses are quiet, and a bit on the mushy side, but it's fast and responsive enough for what it is. It did come with a key plucker and 8 clear replacement keys that look super sharp. The keys mate to a square hole in the chassis, and do *not* have the flimsy little pieces that always break if you pull the keys off to clean it. I'm unwilling to dump a coke in my new keyboard, but it wouldn't surprise me if this thing survived both the spill and the cleanup. If I do not update this post, assume that this keyboard is still running. Rangers Lead the Way!!!!
Finally! A Lit Keyboard I Don't Hate!

This is, without a doubt, the best backlit keyboard I have owned, and one of the best all-around keyboards I have ever had.

First, a little background: As a computer programmer and gamer, my keyboard is essential to my livelihood and entertainment. I have had a few backlit keyboards from other manufacturers in the past, and they have always had something wrong with them--unresponsive, poor lighting, strange key arrangements, or just far too expensive to justify the purchase. I need a full keyboard that would provides clear, sufficient lighting for those late-night gaming/coding sessions, or just when it is a cloudy day and the light is low in my office. I ordered this because it was the only backlit keyboard that was a full, non-compact design that was not outrageously expensive. I was skeptical since it had no reviews and I could find no feedback for AULA's keyboards online.

Buying this keyboard was worth the risk. The keys are sensitive and responsive, with just the right spring-back to let you know they're there. Typing on this keyboard feels fluid and simple. The keys are arranged well, and I quickly adjusted to the slightly-altered location of the "|" key (which is good for programming, anyway).

The backlighting is fantastic. Those pictures are not Photoshopped, people--the keyboard's lighting really can be that bright and clear. Every key is well-lit and easy to read. You are getting your money's worth. The lighting can be adjusted between red, blue, and purple, and the light itself can be adjusted to be off, low, high, or slowly pulsing.

Awesome.

I highly recommend this as a keyboard, and for its backlighting. If you are looking for a well-built keyboard with backlighting that isn't overpriced and doesn't feel cheap, then this is what you want.

Amazing keyboard
October 4, 2016
I got this keyboard to use with my HP laptop when I decided to start using it as a desktop. So far it has impressed me with a solid build quality and accuracy. I have never seen the wireless input of this keyboard struggle or fail to recognize an input on the computer. This keyboard is now my go-to keyboard when I am looking for the convenience of something wireless but without sacrificing things like a number pad or multimedia controls. It doesn't impress with fancy lighting or excessive n-key rollover, but is still a solid option for typing and general inputs. Overall I highly recommend this as a no-nonsense wireless productivity keyboard.
Great cheap low profile keyboard for anyone who is used to typing on a laptop
June 11, 2016
The keyboard is great for anyone who is used to typing on a laptop keyboard .I was quickly back up to typing speed in a few minutes. the keys are low profile which i find really nice and it only took a few moments to set up . it does bend in the middle and have a bit of bounce because its a ultra thin keyboard but that is rather expected in something so thin . I find it works rather well on windows 10 . so far all the functions work great and i have no complaints.Though one thing you have to watch out for is when unboxing the wireless receiver is in the opening of the box where the box tab is .in the side of the box. it can easily be overlooked . but so far I love it and its a great keyboard
My favorite wireless keyboard
December 13, 2015
This is actually my favorite of any PC keyboard. It can be kind of hard to find/get, and the HP store itself is often out of stock. It's kinda different than other keyboards. It's extremely thin, like wafer thin, and very light. The keys have a pleasant and perfect amount of bounce and feedback, with a "flatter" feeling than other keyboards: it's hard to describe, but you could say that there's less distance from the beginning of the keystroke to the end. It's the quietest keyboard I've ever used. The USB functionality is great - you plug in a little USB device and so far, for me, every computer has instantly recognized it, which means you can use it for any sort of USB computing device. I really love this keyboard and the price is insanely affordable for such a nice piece of gear. My first one lasted 3+ years before the Shift Key gave out. I consider 3 years an acceptable lifespan for a $25 piece of equipment. By the way, this keyboard is not the one that ships with most HP computers; it's an "upgrade" and the basic HP wireless keyboard is not as nice, so don't assume you're getting this one if you buy a new HP computer. I highly recommend it.
I Love This Keyboard, But...
February 24, 2015
...if you don't have a wrist rest or pad already, I highly recommend that you get one at the same time you get this keyboard. I was introduced to the chiclet- or scissor-style keyboard because of using one at work (using an Apple wired keyboard with an Intel Mac), and I have to say that I prefer it in every way to the more traditional keyboards. It is much quieter, and, for me, the feedback is pleasant. One thing I did not take into account, though, is that I had a wrist rest at work. So when I got this keyboard for home use and started using it, I loved it immediately--until the day I used it for hours on end. Then--ouch! My wrists began to ache.Overall, this is a great keyboard. It connected to my computer without a problem, and the only lag in keystrokes I have experienced has been when the computer had just been "awakened" from sleep mode. For reasons I will not go into here, I am using this keyboard with a laptop: the laptop keyboard's lights indicate whether or not I have Caps Lock or Num Lock engaged on the wireless keyboard. I understand that won't help people using this keyboard with a desktop computer, but thought I'd put it out there anyway. My conclusion: if you're a fan of the scissor-style keyboard and you have or are willing to invest in a wrist rest, you will enjoy this keyboard.
Simply the best.
September 6, 2014
The chiclet keys are quiet as can be. There is no lag that I notice. It's super thin. It has the numeric keys which was a deal breaker for me. It is a link-5 product, meaning you can add a mouse on the one usb receiver, as well as 3 other items. It actually comes with 2 AAA batteries, which is a rarity, and means it's ready to use right away, with no installation hassles. And the packaging is minimal. What else can I say?Edit: 2.5 years laterIt's still the best. I use this keyboard almost every day, and it works just like it did the day I bought it. I use rechargeable batteries with it, so when they run out (usually lasts a couple of months), I just recharge and start over. I like it so much that sometimes I consider buying a spare, in case they stop making them someday. But honestly, mine is still in great shape, so there's no need. The only drawback is that it is a bit long, and hard to fit in a backpack sometimes. I wouldn't recommend removing the numerals section though. The only improvement I can imagine is if HP developed a similar keyboard that is foldable, as some other brands have done. Might be asking too much...
Best Keyboard I've Ever Used...
March 6, 2013
I work in IT for KeyBank so I've used a lot of keyboards, and this keyboard is fantastic. I now own three of them -- one for my daughter's PC, one for my main home PC, and one for my wife and my work laptops when we work remote. My wife bought a low-end Logitech keyboard because it was cheap, and quickly returned it and had me buy another one of these. Everyone in this house loves them. They are incredibly responsive, very sleek, and very easy to use.The most important pros include:They are completely compatible in Windows 7 & 8.Not only are they compatible, but no configuration is even required. This includes the sleep, volume, web, and special function (Fn) buttons. I especially enjoy the new Windows 8 function button options painted on the Fn keys.Comfortable feel. All the keys are properly placed exactly where I expect them to be without having to hunt the keyboard. The keys also have very little travel to depress them. This is very convenient if you are a skilled typist. The keys also have a very nice tactile feedback that really let's you know you've hit the key.Very long battery life. While I have had to replace the batteries a few times a year, I change the batteries on these keyboards about once every couple years. There is also a tiny low battery indicator on the keyboard which is helpful.Very durable.Even the earliest one of these that I bought hasn't lost any of the paint off any of the keys after three years of use. They have taken a lot of use and abuse and still work like new.Shallow sealed key design. These keyboards are very easy to clean. Dirt doesn't really have a place to nest or get under the keys like on many other keyboards I've used.Link-5.I can use a single dongle in one USB port and it controls the mouse(mice) and keyboard(s). It controls up to five devices which is great if you have limited USB ports. This is becoming standard, but I'll still give it a spot on the pro list.Sharp look and slim design. It just looks good sitting on any desk. It's also very slim so it's easy to manipulate. I have an HP TouchSmart PC, and it easily slides under it if I need extra desk space. I'm not a fan of bulky design, ergonomics, or wrist rests. Just give me a nice keyboard. The cons include:F, J, and 5 button indicators. This is the only real con I can find with this keyboard. The little F, J, and 5 indicator bump on the keys that you need for proper finger placement are there, but they could be a little more pronounced. The last HP keyboard I owned was slightly more pronounced which made the keys easy to find. I'm getting used to it, but I find I have to rub around the keys a little to confirm I have the right keys. If you're a hunt-and-pecker, it won't matter, but if you're a touch typist, it will take some getting used to.In closing:I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone that wants an excellent, comfortable, and durable keyboard. It will last for years and you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Although I do like the overall difference/advantage of having my keyboard key lighted ...
December 30, 2015
Although I do like the overall difference/advantage of having my keyboard key lighted up and I'm using it just fine as I do my overall typing, there is one thing I'm trying to deal with. That is the fact that they included an "extra" key that my original keyboard didn't have. That key being between the " ' " and the "enter/return" key. This key is " | or \ " key; which was originally to the left of my backspace key. This isn't a big issue since it only takes time getting use to. It's just that, for the time being, when I want to hit "enter/return", I hit \ instead and this just slows down my overall typing speed. My work keyboard isn't the same, so I really need to differentiate between the two.

This would not be an issue at all if I was a "hunt and peck type" of typer, but I'm not. I type without looking down. Anyways, Looks and feel nice. Besides the thing I mentioned, no issue whatsoever.

I do want to comment on something though. Pushing FN + 5 (on the right side, not the one above lined horizontally) DID infact change the LED color. I LOVE PINK. I wanted to stay on blue, but it's kinda of dark; especially with no lights on. Red is okay, but it's slowly hurting my eyes. I wish it was Light Blue instead or maybe White. Overall, Pink is my current default and I'm a guy.

Not that anyone cares, but the back looks nice as well. The color shines through. Not too bright, but you can definitely tell it's there.

A minor issue is the lighting on the top 4 right lights (the ones that tell you if you have Num lock or not, etc..). These will ALWAYS be on blue. If Num lock is on, a small part of Caps lack (like a 1/5th of it) will be lighted up. If I turned the CAPs lock on, 1/5th of Scroll light be be lighted up. If I leave Num lock and Scroll lock on, 2 x 1/5th be lighted on Caps Lock and 1/5th of it will be lighted for the Win light (whatever that is.)

One last thing that I wanted to note which is the real reason I'm not giving it 5 star. It's not the material, but the overall top and bottom design. As I'm typing right now, the rough/grip side is on my left side and the smooth side is on my right side; I'm talking about my palm. It's like rough on the left, smooth on the middle, and rough on the right. I'd prefer if it was all rough or all smooth. On top of that, there's a noticeable indent in the middle; which I prefer if it was a straight line (all hill or all through) instead of a hill-through-hill design. It just doesn't feel right if I was typing a long time. However, this is meant for gaming, not typing a novel; which was why I wanted it in the first place. I prefer to type in the dark. This may be moot point, but this is based from my preference.

If these 2 things weren't present, I'd give this a 5 star. Overall, not a bad product to use. Not the best because if there was something else that's better, I'd probably stop using this one in a heartbeat. I don't hold it in high regards.
Afforadable Backlit Keyboard. Just take good care of it.
November 3, 2015
I needed a keyboard that I can simply type in the dark and this was the keyboard I have found. The design was nice so I decided to buy it. It was easy to set up: plug it in, wait for drivers to install and then you are good to go. The instructions were easy to follow depending if you want to change colors or turn up/down the brightness. (Off / Low / Bright / Pulsing)

FN + 5 - To change colors.
FN + 8 - Brightness
FN + 2 - Dimness

It has only 3 colors; Red, Blue and Purple. Blue is my favorite out of the 3, and the keys were lit up bright enough for you to see every key you press. The pulsing-light feature on the keyboard does not alternate the colors, but only the current color you are using.

The company provides a plastic key removal (which is useful for cleaning) and clear key pieces (I received 10 pieces) for you to set up where you have your Hot Keys or your Directional Keys. However you want to use them for, it is a nice thing that they give you.

There drainage holes in the keyboard in case if you were to accidentally spill your drink onto your keyboard, which obviously it is not recommended to do that. The typing you do on the keyboard is quiet so you won't have to worry about anyone being annoyed by your typing even with the door open. It is pretty sturdy and you can't not push it around so easily on a flat surface.

After a few months of having the keyboard, the only thing that ruined it for me was that something fell onto my keyboard rendering a few of the keys useless. There was no response from pressing the keys anymore so seeing how I can't use it, I gave it a smack to find out that it rendered the keyboard completely useless and unresponsive to any pressing on any key. (Probably a weak design as my other keyboard has gone through harsher punishment admittedly)

For what it is, it is a pretty good keyboard, just don't have anything fall onto it (or don't be hitting your keyboard) or otherwise risk the functionality of the keyboard. I have a new keyboard now and I will review it at a later time. If you wish to see this keyboard as it works: https://youtu.be/syhYpZYeKTI
Lights Up My Life!
May 1, 2015
After experiencing the disaster that was the "Azio Large Print Tri-Color Backlit Wired Keyboard" (see my unfavorable review), I was still in the market for a decent illuminated keyboard. If I'd been going on looks alone, I would've likely passed up on this one, because the official promotional images used on Amazon's product page truly do it no justice: it was only after going through the customer-provided images (among which I've decided to include one of my own) that I got a better and truer sense of what to was to be expected visually. But the bigger decisive factor was of course the many favorable user ratings which, after I'd acquired a unit of my own, seem significantly justified... although, regrettably, it is not entirely perfect.

The biggest complaint, as has been stated repeatedly by other reviewers, concerns the redesign of the "return/enter" key which repositions the "vertical-back slashes" key to the area customarily associated with the return key, giving rise to repeated misstrikes when not paying the closest of attention, and to having to resort to uncomfortably overreaching to access the key whether you're aware of its location or not. I cannot image why the designers felt this off-putting alteration was at all necessary, unless it somehow has something to do with its being marketed as a "gaming" keyboard, of which things I'm ignorant. Also, the absence of proper independent "media keys" may be a bit of a concern, but which can still be mimicked through use of the "function" key which, again for some unknown reason, the keyboard designers chose to swap over to the opposite side of the board.

My only other issue with this keyboard, though a relatively minor one, is that key pressing feels too stiff & resistant for my personal tastes, reminding me somewhat of the old "iMac" proprietary keyboards I'd loathed so much.

I'd always wanted the assistance and the convenience (not to mention the "coolness") of having & working with an illuminated keyboard of this sort, especially given the fact that I'm frequently working in the dark or otherwise very subdued lighting situations, so its being designed as a backlit/illuminated keyboard was of course its primary selling point with me already, but I’ve found this particular function on this keyboard to be amazingly spot-on -- even in well-lit situations! (see a bit of an example in my posted accompanying photo)

Set at maximum brightness, the "pink/purple" lighting variation is softest on the eyes; the "red" setting, while clear and detail rich, can be extremely harsh on sensitive eyes, so I would not recommend this setting except at its more dimmed brightness level or unless you truly love the color scheme; I myself am partial to the "blue" option, which is likewise sufficiently bright, and whose "eye strain factor" falls somewhere semi-comfortably between the other two color options.

Because of the aforementioned "issues" I've expressed concerning this keyboard, even though they are truly not anything major enough worth blowing a gasket over (although the "return" key redesign can often be hella frustrating for most of us who are not accustomed to ''reaching'' for it), I cannot justifiably grace it with the 5-star rating it would've otherwise deserved, so consider that I've assigned this one with a score somewhere between "3" and "4" ...or let's just call it a "B-minus."
Attention mac users!
March 19, 2015
(From a mac user)

Pros---
-Nice design- doesn't look too cheap and doesn't feel expensive (as compared to a $140 Razer keyboard)
-Works well enough for the price
-Lightweight
-Hasn't malfunctioned yet (used for a week and I game)
-Doesn't need to be installed with a software-- works on mac.

Cons---
-The ENTER (return) key is a little bit further to the right than where it is on the standard keyboards. It will only take a couple days to get used to.
-(for mac users) the Fn+5 (on num pad) does not change the keyboard's color. You will be stuck with blue.
-----And yes, I said I tried Fn + 5 (ON NUMBER PAD- I know what this is). Does not work, and I do not have a defective product.
(Perhaps try changing the color on a windows computer and then see if it remains when you plug it back in your mac)
-(for mac users) number lock and scroll lock on the keyboard do not work (but these functions are windows specific anyway)
-The left shift key. Maybe it's just my typing style, but for this keyboard you must hit near the center of the key or it will be hard to press due to its rubber dome style
-The keyboard can slide around if you do not put enough pressure on it, especially on the left side. This isn't too big of an issue.

Extra information:
-The other functions work. For example, Fn+8, Fn+2 work for adjusting light intensity and pulsing. You will just be stuck with blue light.
-The lockable/unlockable WIN key works.
- Also, the WIN key (the key with the windows logo) is equivalent to your Apple command key.
-Keys are detachable and can be replaced with the colorless keys
-Works on mac in closed clamshell mode
Overall, it's a nice keyboard. Worth the money and looks and works great.
December 30, 2014
Update Oct 5, 2016: Wow, It's been two years with this keyboard! It's still working just as well as the day I bought it. I was just looking to buy a new keyboard (to change things up / upgrade) and I had to dig two years back into my Amazon order history to see when I'd purchased this. I use this keyboard everyday, all day for work (graphic design), and for hours and hours of gaming after that. Keys function fine; Lighting still works; Still brightly lit; It was a good purchase. Thanks.

I've had this keyboard for a while now and I like it a lot. I'm glad I bought it. I was a little weary at first because I did buy a Logitech keyboard a few years ago that had illuminated keys and I didn't enjoy it. The Logitech one was hard to see (day or night) and after a few months I replaced it. I like this AULA keyboard much, much better and I plan to keep using it for a long time.

Pros:
It is very nicely lit. I can see the keys clearly at all times and any time. Day or night. I pretty much leave it lit all the time, but I don't find it distracting. I can see how the option to turn the key lighting off is useful if your keyboard is on your desk, for example, but mine is on a keyboard tray so when it is lit and I slide it under the desktop it's like it's off completely. I absolutely LOVE the lighting when I'm gaming. Especially for my flight simulator when I can just glance down and pick out a key quickly. The keys are easy to type with. I like a keyboard with a soft touch so you can quickly type and not have to press hard on the keys. This keyboard is very much like that - keystrokes can be light, quick and fluid without any missing letters.

Cons:
The Return/Enter key is not shaped like a standard Windows keyboard (at least not any I've ever owned in the last 20 years). It moves the forward Slash key "\" down a row and sticks it in-between the Quotation Mark key and the Enter key. So if you're used to not looking at the keyboard as you type, this will definitely throw you off at first. I would strongly suggest if you're not wanting to be frustrated by re-teaching yourself the locations of your Semicolon, Quotation Marks, and Forward Slash keys, that you look for a different keyboard. These keys are all pretty much moved to the left by one space and it is something you'll have to get used to (that is how they are setup at the time of this writing - Dec 2014). I didn't notice this in the images when I bought the keyboard...actually didn't notice it until I started typing and things got...weird... To me, it's not a show stopper, but I think it is something to be aware of.

Good buy

Connects easily and works great. Love the media keys, and I prefer the volume buttons on the top right, very convenient. The design of the keyboard is fantastic; it's super slim and overall looks quite polished. My only complaint is that personally I prefer my keys to be a bit more clicky, these have a softer feeling when you press without that satisfying "clack" feeling, but if you prefer that then this works for you. It's also very quite!
A decent keyboard that isn't obnoxiously loud like the mechanical keyboards people are obsessed with these days
April 18, 2017
A decent keyboard that isn't obnoxiously loud like the mechanical keyboards people are obsessed with these days. As with any keyboard that's new to you, there will be a bit of an adjustment period but that's normal.I docked 1 star because the keys on this thing get REALLY shiny over time from the oils in your skin. It makes it look like you eat potato chips all day while you're typing. Even wiping it down doesn't diminish the sheen. I can live with it but if you like dull matte finishes for your keys, you might want to avoid this one. Or you could wear gloves but that's not practical. I wonder if there's a surgery to remove the oil from the skin on your fingertips...
Great, with one trifling, but annoying, exception
June 28, 2016
I bought this for use with a standing desk at work. On the whole, I quite like this keyboard. Price was good, it's small, light, & *quiet.* I love the low-profile keys. No issues with its connectivity & it set up easily & quickly.I do have one complaint...& it's almost silly to take a star off for it, but it actually really bugs me. There is no way to tell if caps lock is on short of typing & seeing if the letters are all caps or not. There is no light or any kind of indicator whatsoever. I have a database I use daily that requires all caps, so not knowing without typing is actually really annoying. So, if that doesn't bug you, then this keyboard is about perfect. But it really bugs me. :/
Good Keyboard for typing, Multimedia functions could stand some improvement
June 20, 2015
I previously owned a Logitech MK700 keyboard that I had used for 5 years. I had become dissatisfied with it because the keys are the membrane type that had some slight wobble to them making it difficult to type quickly and accurately on. I really began noticing the difference when I got a Macbook Pro. Compared to the Macbook Pro the Logitech just seemed mushy and sloppy. This led me to purchase the HP Wireless Elite v2 with its scissor keys and number pad. The feel of this keyboard is good and definitely more crisp than the old Logitech. I would say it is comparable to the Macbook Pro. It does not lag when typing, and is about as thin and compact as a full sized keyboard should be. However, I do think that there are some things that can be improved.1. The keyboard is made out of sturdy plastic and has a very slight give in the middle. It is not aluminum.2. The multimedia keys are pathetically small and round. They are clicky and will probably hold up. but given the space in the upper right corner, they could have definitely made them larger and improved their quality. The play, forward, and reverse buttons are all integrated with the function keys and require you to press the function combo key to use.3. I miss the dedicated calculator button that my Logitech had and the HP one does not.4. As everyone else pointed out no indicators for caps lock or battery life (not sure what the symbol in the upper right is).5. No On/Off switchOverall, I am satisfied with it and will keep it, but if HP would address the above, then I would consider it perfect.
Decent keyboard, not exactly as great as I thought it would be.
April 30, 2014
There's really nothing to knock about the keyboard especially at it's price point. I felt the reviews built it up a little more than it is in reality, but I'm also rather nit picky. I did have one weird issue where the letter keys did not work, but when pressing backspace it was inputting characters (I wasn't sure what as I was typing in a masked password field. Ended up having to use another keyboard). After logging in, it resolved. But I also pulled the receiver and put it back in, so I can't isolate what the specific issue was. It's only happened once, so who knows it could have been my machine hiccuping with the driver.Pros: Solid keyboard. Nicely spaced keys, home and end are positioned side by side to easily jump to the beginning or end of a line of text using your pointer or middle finger respectively, I associate the keys that way so I may be weird on that note. The hotkeys work right out of the box without any need to configure themCons: I'm using "con" loosely here, but the keys don't feedback as well as I had hoped. My Mac keyboard is a bit more satisfying to use, but this of course isn't a highly priced apple product. I did dock a star though because I feel like it could have a bouncier and more pleasing feedback, and maybe even slightly quieter. I'd give it 4.5 if I could.Final thoughts: It's a great keyboard for the price. Just minor little quirks. Again, I nitpick and do so especially with keyboards since I am typing all day long. If you are not as critical as I am, you'll find it's otherwise pretty flawless.Oh one more thing, I wish it were back lit, but I can't complain there because as I said the price meets the features without sacrificing quality.
Great keyboard BUT...
November 11, 2012
OK, so I've been in two best buy stores and two office depot stores looking for keyboards and testing the feeling from the key feedback. This was by far the best! It was even better than much more expensive keyboards like the Logitech solar keyboard, which I was considering to buy in the beginning. I've also tried various Microsoft keyboards. Setting aside $110+ mechanical keyboards that of course can't be compared, I really really liked the feeling of the HP elite keyboard. As an extra benefit, I also think it's the nicest looking. It's the slimmest keyboard for a PC in the store and also it's not huge taking up a lot of space. In summary, it's just right and it looks as very polished a modern. However, here's what happened, I had to return the keyboard TWICE! Both times, the backspace didn't work. There was a noticeable delay in registering repeated backspace key strokes. First time, I returned it to amazon. Second time, I didn't want to wait on shipping any longer so I decided to get it from best buy. Same thing! I was starting to believe it's a defective product line! Anyhow, I returned it for an exchange giving it one more try and I'm glad I did! Now, all the keys work fine and I'm writing this review about a month after I first bought it.So my advice to you, this is a great product with a great price, make sure you buy it from a trusted seller that has a solid return policy!

Looks good. Worked well until it didn't
June 10, 2017
Looks good. Worked well until it didn't. Without any drops or spills or any identifiable cause, it stopped working for almost every key on it. Presently some of the numbers work and the F5 but that is it. (the backlight still works) (and I tried multiple systems). Had it since Jan 2016, so it did work for about 1.5 years.
Nice keyboard, 1 year later I'm having issues.
December 30, 2016
Such a nice looking and well functioning keyboard for the money. If you're in a pinch and are looking for a gaming keyboard this will work, but after one year of using it I'm starting to notice key sticking on my WASD keys. The physical keys don't stick, but it's the trigger inside. Some games it's okay to use like it is, but in Rocket League and GTA V where driving is key, it makes it hard to play. I started seeing these problems about a week ago and they've only gotten worse since then. Using the included key popper makes removing the keys simple, but even cleaning didn't solve the problem.

Bottom line it's a great keyboard with beautiful LEDs and nice construction, but if you are a heavy gamer then be weary of the WASD wearing out over time.

February 3, 2016
I love the back-lit colors and the typing feel is at least OK so far, but despite my efforts, I cannot get past the return key being half-width with the backslash ( \ ) key being to the right of the semi-colon instead of above the return key. I could deal with the return key being shaped that way (my old Amiga 3000 keyboard was like that), but putting the backslash key to the right of the semi-colon means I keep typing backslash instead of hitting return. It's a lot harder for my pinky finger to reach other it than I thought it would be. It drove me nuts after awhile, so I ended up trying a backlit keyboard from Logitech instead that has a normal position and it's been awesome (costs a lot more, though) with better typing feel an a normal return key. I do miss the tri-color choices (Logitech model only has white), but I can't deal with the return key setup and there doesn't appear to be a way to change the keys out.

People that don't "touch type (type without looking) will probably have an easier time adjusting to it.
Key surface wore out quickly.
December 4, 2015
First off, the positives. for the price its a good backlit keyboard. It is NOT a gaming keyboard. The keys feel crisp and responsive and I like being able to change the brightness of the backlight with a simple key press. Having audio controls with FN key is very useful. The keyboard does look nice without being too aggressive on the styling.

Now for the negatives, if you plan on using this keyboard for gaming beware that the surface on the keys will wear out quickly. After only a few weeks of use, the S,D and Cntl keys have completely worn off the surface. Doesn't hurt functionality, but it does make the keyboard look like trash. You can't save the color settings, so you have to manually change them each time you power off your computer. Granted true gaming keyboards are twice or three times the price of this model, but if I had to do it over again I would spend the extra money for a more durable and better constructed product.

Edit 8/29/16: Keyboard died after only a few months. The surface of the keys that I used most often wore off completely and now a number of the keys stopped worked. Would not recommend.
Looks nice and does a decent job at getting the job done
November 27, 2015
Edit: I'll be leaving my original review below for context sake. I have now had this keyboard for awhile so I figured I'd update the review. The keyboard has continued to work after months of use. The light does seem to be still working well and the keys and everything respond and work well. There's still a slight issue of pushing too many keys at once and the keyboard not registering. So take caution if you have a habit of using more than 3 or 4 key presses at once. For the price it's a good keyboard with good back-lighting. Changing my review to 3 stars.

Bought this keyboard primarily due to it backlight. I spend a decent amount of time gaming, mostly in FPS' and it worked great. I loved that you were able to change the colors, and the intensity of the brightness. It was a simple plugin and play deal. I'm rating 3 stars because it stopped working after a week. It was working, then suddenly 90% of the keys stopped working. A few random keys would work if pressed harder than normal. I was able to return it, and am using the refunded money to purchase it again in hopes that it won't mess up again. Will update after receiving.

Some keys stop working
June 23, 2017
I'm kind of disappointed with this keyboard. I've had it for about 1 year now. The keyboard looks great, keys are soft key and they feel great, easy to connect and everything. However, one thing that it does not have is the ability to tell when caps are not on, it's annoying as I don't know what especially when dealing with case sensitive passwords. But that was an error on my part for not realizing that was the case, so no fault to the keyboard, but it would have been great to have. With in 6 months of using it the * and - key on the right hand side by the numbers stop working. I thought at first I might have deactivated something but all the other keys in that area work just fine. When having to do deal with calculating numbers it's not that convenient to have to move to the other side of the keyboard press shift and use the other keys. I still use it and deal with it, but I'm looking to replace it. Maybe it's just my keyboard that's having these issues but thought I share it.
Lasted six months :(
May 5, 2017
I bought this a little over six months ago, and have really enjoyed it. However, it's already dying on me, even with brand new batteries.Too bad, because it's super quiet and the perfect size for my small desk. However, I'm now painfully typing this through missed key presses and sticky repeating keys, and looking for a new keyboard.
Too slow to type
March 6, 2017
Pros: looks good, relatively light-weight. Quiet.Cons: Far too slow key return response. The FN key is too big and in too central position.I use external mac keyboard/built-in MacBook Pro or Pixel laptops. The typing on all of these is significantly faster than the HP Wireless Elite Keyboard v2. The problem with this keyboard is that the keys are a bit softer on the bottom, making it difficult to understand when the key sinks in enough to matter. Also, the travel time is quite a bit longer, slowing me down and tiring my fingers faster. It is ok for recreational use, but if one enters text or writes code, I would not recommend this keyboard. Note that I don't even type that fast. I have colleagues that type twice faster than me.
Decent keyboard just has a very short wireless range.
January 11, 2017
The design of the keyboard is lightweight and thin which I like a lot. The keys are decent to hit and it feels good to use. The problems I have with it are how short the range from your PC you have to be or it starts to skip kets when you hit them forcing you to get closer to be able to type without making a ton of spelling errors. Also the caps lock/number lock/scroll lock buttons have no light so you have no clue whether they are on or not. The battery seems to last a long time if you put decent batteries in it I would recommend this if you are looking for an inexpensive wireless keyboard and you don't plan on being far away from your PC.
Love It - But It's Fragile
November 25, 2016
I love this keyboard, so much so that I've purchased it three times. The reason I keep repurchasing is that the little feet on the bottom that are used to tilt the keyboard up break SO easily, and I can't comfortably type when it lays flat. After the first time, I contacted HP, but they don't sell replacement feet. I had to buy another, at $50, but I did because of the good things: it's slim, with low-profile keys that require a soft touch to press, plus it's very quiet, attractive, and wireless. For later purchases I found it on amazon closer to $30, but my cat jumped up on it this morning and busted one of the feet, and I can't go for a fourth one! Also, it's not illuminated and has no caps-lock indicator, which I've always missed.
Nice and sleek, but I keep losing the signal
May 10, 2014
I really like the styling, low profile and response to this keyboard. ... When it works. I randomly lose the signal from the keyboard. I often can't use it in my keyboard tray and the position in relation to the computer (and dongle) shouldn't be the issue either. Also, when I was looking for keyboards, I decided not to get a cheaper Microsoft keyboard because the reviewers kept saying it didn't have indicator lights for cap lock, num lock, etc. Yeah, this keyboard apparently doesn't have those lights either, but I must not have read through enough reviews to find that out. Be warned: If you want lights, you will not want this keyboard.I decided I didn't mind until earlier this week when I got locked out of my work account because I couldn't tell that I'd accidentally hit caps lock.As I told my keyboard this morning. "I love you. I want to love you. But you have to work. Don't make me replace you with my old wired keyboard or a new shiny wired keyboard."If it worked, it'd be a 5 stars (I'd overlook the lights problem too).

Great at first, then fails months later! Buyers beware!
November 1, 2016
I can't believe how this keyboard just fell apart. I am not an abusive person when it comes to keyboards, even while gaming. I kept it clean and made sure not to spill any drinks or eat food over it. Initially, it was great and worked fine. The colored lighting was very cool and easy to adjust. But approximately 9 months later, right in the middle of an online game, my key commands stopped working. Other keys continued to work. As I investigated, working keys gradually became non-working keys! Over the span of 20 minutes, the keyboard gradually failed until the whole thing stopped working altogether despite the color lights still being on. So basically, this is a cheap piece of junk from China that is made to last just long enough to please consumers into giving false rose-colored reviews before it fails on you. Buy at your own risk!
Seemed okay at first...
March 18, 2016
I actually did like this keyboard. The backlighting is nice, and it was nothing special to configure.

However, I do have a couple of complaints. My first complaint is minor, but as an IT person, I spend a good bit of time typing. The configuration of the Enter key relative to backslash (\) and pipe (|) is odd. I often hit enter while trying to type a backslash or pipe. But this is just something to get used to. Not a huge deal.

The part that prompted me to write the review is what just happened. I play online games a good bit as well. So I use Ctrl, Shift, and Alt a good bit. My right shift key just broke. I don't mean it came off the clips underneath. I mean it broke, in half, with a vertical crack down the middle of the key. So now the left side of the key flops around separate from the right side of the key as the clip attaches in two places. I have no idea how this happened. I'm a firm typer, but I didn't do anything extreme when this occurred. Nor have I ever. I was just pressing right shift when I heard and felt it snap.

I've been using this keyboard for about 4 months when this occurred.
The keyboard itself is pretty nice, it fits my hands just fine
February 25, 2016
The keyboard itself is pretty nice, it fits my hands just fine. The keys feel right when typing, the backlight is bright enough to be useful. No problems as far as build goes, my issues are with function:

Almost none of the F keys worked properly upon arrival. They all have two functions, the primary F-key function and a secondary, such as volume, brightness, music controls, etc... On all of the keys, only one function or the other would work. Not both. F3 Is the only key that both functions work on.

After about 6 months the numpad keys started going bad, rather than typing numbers, they started doing alternate functions. For example, the number 2 now refreshes the page. Extremely frustrating when trying to do homework, hit 2, and suddenly it's all gone.

Maybe it's a driver problem, but as far as I'm concerned, software or hardware, a defective device is defective. I'm not going to waste my time troubleshooting it, I'm just going to buy a different one. It was only $20 anyways.
Only gripes are personal. Great Keyboard for the price! Became disfunctional after two months
November 20, 2015
Bought this because it was cheap and was backlit. That was my original criteria for buying a new keyboard and it kind of still is. I was excited when I started unboxing this baby; wrapped very carefully in foam with hard foam sides to prevent damage from overseas shipping from China. It is easy to tell this came from China because the instructions and Warranty information are all dominantly in Chinese with very roughly translated to English. I was prepared for that however because of reading other reviews. One odd thing is that the enter key is reduced a bit and replaced by the \ key. A personal gripe is that the keys are very soft. For many people this is no issue but when you're used to an office keyboard with really loud and satisfying key-presses, this can be a big turn-off.
3-colors, works out of the box, no drivers needed, easy to control and reasonably controlled brightness, cool design, great value.

Update: knocked off 3 stars because the keyboard randomly stopped functioning after about two months. Not sure what the problem could be, just turned on my PC one day and not a single key responded but the keyboard remained backlit and the NUMLOCK light remained illuminated. If anyone knows a fix please let me know!
Failed keyboard chip?
October 21, 2015
So, this AULA keyboard seems to have proved the old concept of "you get what you pay for"! I have purchased three of these keyboards. This morning, while trying to install new software, the #3's controller board/chip seems to have bit the dust. So, for those who are familiar with standard s/w installs, here's what happened. I start the installer, choose custom install, and am trying to set someplace else besides the C: drive to install to. So, I try to type D (at the beginning og the path) in the line that has the path to install to. Nothing! Now, I have encountered quirky installers (this installer was for the latest Corel Graphics, though) that have behaved this way before. So, I open File Explorer (Windows 10) and try to setup the folders on the D drive so I can just browse to them in the installer. I create a new folder, but cannot type anything to re-name it. I cancel the install, reboot the computer (proper Windows shutdown and then cold boot). At the Win X login screen, I get 2 characters of my password typed in, then nothing more. NUM Lock button will not respond but computer is responding fine (mouse pointer moves fine, for example). Connect a different USB keyboard, get logged in fine. Disconnect the AULA. I have an identical AULA keyboard connected to my other computer. I swap the two AULA keyboards. The 2nd keyboard works perfectly fine on the computer where the 1st keyboard had issues AND the 1st AULA k/b fails to work at all with the 2nd computer! So, the 1st AULA k/b died. I would be tempted to RMA it with the manufacturer or seller, but having bought 3 of these and this being a 2nd failed unit, I have lost confidence in the brand and will simply try to select a higher quality keyboard when purchasing! I will say this, while it worked, I loved the 3 colors (also my sister loves purple and previously I had considered buying one of these as her for a gift, but that will never happen now) and the keyboard had an excellent typing experience, but the keyboard just dying out of the blue after a few months is kind of a deal breaker for me, esp. when it is the second failed unit from AULA!

Varied Experience
July 12, 2017
True rating would be a 2.5 as I was One for two, the average of a 5 star and 1 star. The first one I bought worked like a champ then I broke it. My fault entirely.I Ordered a new one and after a short period of reliable operation was greeted with a disturbing new behavior: the random auto-typing of the backslash character - \\\\\\\\\\... which will run forever unless you intervene . The worst part is that it will kick off on it's own when I am not even touching the keyboard, from basically anywhere - inside a web browser session, word doc, text doc, anywhere and completely at random.I had already tossed all of the packaging and given this was less than a $50 purchase and is mostly functional I didn't attempt to exchange, especially given the fact that the new Microsoft Modern Keyboards will be shipping soon: "https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Modern-Keyboard-Fingerprint-ID/dp/B072QZ8B2P/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499909244&sr=8-1&keywords=microsoft+modern+keyboard"Pros: Nice layout, great scissor key actionCons: Occasional transceiver flakiness, possible QA issues with individual units delivered to customer.
Good enough, but not great. Will NOT buy another, see review

[UPDATE][08/02/17]Even with fresh batteries and the receiver less than 8 inches away, it misses about 1 in every 25 key strokes!Dropping review to 2 starsPros:Looks great, slim profile, good 'laptop style' key feel, decent range, volume buttonsCons:Shortcut 'feature buttons" do not work with windows 7 except volume up/down, the number pad will occasionally stop working until you pull the batteries out- which you have to do to turn it off because there is NO POWER SWITCH, and sometimes it will get stuck as if you have shift held down (which requires the same battery-out solution)I'm on amazon today looking to replace it with something better.
Becomes unresponsive occasionally, very annoying
April 24, 2017
I love this keyboard but I just can not use it! The keyboard becomes unresponsive occasionally and it either skips some key pushes or doesn't respond to most key pushes. So you have to retype the same word multiple times and it feels like it is lagging. I tried changing batteries multiple times but it doesn't change anything. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the reception. Not exactly sure why this just starts happening out of nowhere and after resetting the keyboard it goes away then comes back after a some time, sometimes days. I love the keyboard but I am just so fed up with the keyboard becoming unresponsive that I give up. Fix the issue HP because otherwise this is a great keyboard.

November 23, 2016
Much like just about every other HP product I've ever owned this keyboard purchase is something I regret. My other wireless keyboard (non HP) works great and all of my wireless mice work great but with this HP Elite no matter where i put the sensor in the back or front USB ports of the computer......the signal is poor despite being less than 2 feet from the computer. If you put anything on the countertop it interferes with the signal and if more than one person stands near the computer it also interferes with the signal. The end result is you do a bunch of typing and only about 50% of the key strokes make it to your screen.Buttons are pretty nice but no lights (for CAPSLOCK) on the keyboard and the profile is too low and flat. I had to set something 2" thick underneath it to give it a proper height and angle. Bottom line, there are better wireless keyboards out there.
and not for the better. Why I gave it 2-stars versus 1-star
April 29, 2016
I felt compelled to write a product review on this keyboard due to the insane amount of positive reviews. I am not sure how this product is a 4.5/5 star item, even at the price of $30. When comparing the HP Wireless Elite Keyboard v2 to its predecessor, there is a night and day difference, and not for the better. Why I gave it 2-stars versus 1-star: it is slimmer than its predecessor and a slightly quieter keyboard overall, as well as has a battery indicator and the addition of a Browser shortcut key on the top right side; purportedly way better battery life than the first version (I replace batteries every ~2 months); super small USB receiver. Why it falls short of 5 full stars: plastic-esque feel and look to the overall keyboard versus the more professional, predecessor with its silver accents on the sides, a considerable amount of flex in the center of the keyboard, the unresponsiveness of the keys (mushiness or the lack of "bouncing feedback"), a minimal inclination change using the kickstands (with the kickstands being *really* cheaply made)What I was indifferent to: the keys themselves are smaller with larger "gaps" between the keys, which could create a slightly different typingexperienceIn the end, stick with first version of this keyboard unless you can find the v2 for, say $10-15, at most. If you are a very fast typist (100 WPM +20 bursting), then, without a doubt, the v2 should NOT be considered for purchasing.
Is this safe? Product page doesn't clarify
March 26, 2015
Mostly my fault that I bought this keyboard in haste without doing proper research. But I couldn't find a single piece of information on HP about whether this keyboard encrypts the wireless communication or not. Many older wireless keyboard used a simple XOR encryption to "secure" the wireless keyboard connection. This is easily hackable and you can buy off the shelf sniffing solution to sniff keyboard - just google keysweeper. I decided to err on the safe side, ditch this keyboard, and buy a keyboard that clearly states they're using industry standard AES encryption.

It was okay for a few months only
December 27, 2016
It stopped working properly in a matter of months, just with regular use. All of a sudden, some keys just stopped working. There was no clear cause. In that same amount of time, the paint rubbed away enough to make the most commonly-used letters illegible. It is lit in the crudest way possible, shining one solid light and painting black on the clear plastic, but leaving the letter areas unpainted, thus creating a ridge of paint on the edges of the letter, bound to wear off quickly. It also has a poor textile feeling when typing. It's spongy. It feels like someone took a soft cellphone skin and spread it under the keys. I doubt it would've lasted long, even without the malfunction.
Looked great but...
January 11, 2016
Was a nice look right out of the packaging. I was excited to plug it in and go. It lit up right away, but nothing worked. Revisited the reviews to see if I missed something. Many said to try restarting of and/or plug into different USB ports. After spending about 30 minutes trying every possible combination the only thing I was able to determine was that the ONLY keys that worked on the entire keyboard were 1,2,3,4,7,8, and 9 (and yes I skipped 5 & 6 on purpose). Bought this item because it was the #1 selling keyboard on Amazon and thought there had to be good reason for it. Many recent reviews indicate there are a good many lemons out there for this product. Thankfully Amazon granted a refund with no hassle. Now I am debating to try another or switch brands. If I get the same brand I will update review.
DOA, didn't work at all
December 25, 2015
Purchased this after seeing great reviews for it, and seeing the price being what it was. It turned out to be too good to be true. I plugged it in and the LEDs lit up nicely but then no keystrokes would register! The numlock LED was lit up but nothing else worked. I tried 2 different computers. I was very disappointed. What was strange was when I had this plugged in and then plugged in another keyboard at the same time and pressed the numlock key on my normal working keyboard, the ALUA keyboard's numlock LED would update, yet no keypresses on the ALUA keyboard would do anything. I couldn't even cycle through the different LED color options. That wouldn't work either.

TLDR: The keyboard wouldn't work at all except for the whole thing lighting up.
Don't waste your time, You may get a DOA
December 18, 2015
Dear AULA,
A Defective Keyboard? Really? A Keyboard? You can't manufacture a Keyboard properly? It won't type? Seriously? Only 6 letters work, 6. SIX. You folks should get out of this business, there are many keyboard manufacturers whose keyboards actually work, while yours doesn't. It lights up real pretty and all, but real pretty and 5 pennies will get you a nickel, and that's more than the worth of this keyboard.

I'd send it back, but it'll be more fun to keep it here in my shop, telling everyone who will listen that this company can't even make a keyboard that works.

First keyboard that backlighting is bright enough
To work love it. Update April 11 2016 this keyboard just died at 110.$ I think it should last longer than 8 months and the thing about is i'm not on my computer near as much as I used to be in my younger days I would say I wore it out but I am lucky to be on it once a week and not for more than a few minutes. I would be looking for a better keyboard than this one hate to say it now but its going from a 5 to a 1 star.

What a bad purchase. I have an HP Elite laptop and monitor and I thought that this would be a good addition. The connection quality is terrible. You have to type slowly and it often cant keep up. My logitech products are far superior. I would never buy this again.
Sadly barely functional
December 1, 2016
I'm so disappointed in this keyboard. I love the sleek look, but it doesn't function properly most of the time. It lags and loses connection easily, even though it's only 2 feet from the computer. It randomly ignores keystrokes and I end up with gibberish. I often have to pick it up and hold it over the tower to type. Sometimes it converts one quick keystroke as multiple letters such as b to bbbbbbbbbbbbb. The batteries are fresh. The computer is a new HP Envy desktop running Windows 10. This keyboard model was recommended by HP for my computer.I'm getting ready to pack it up and return it, but wanted to share that my experience has been similar to those described by many low star reviews. It obviously works well for a lot of people, but may be based on computer/OS version. So sad, I really wanted it to work.

November 4, 2016
I was so excited to get this keyboard and then received it and I can't say how disappointed I am. It works when it wants to. I will be typing along fine and it will stop printing the letters. You have to sit there and wait until it feels like working again. It's ridiculous. I tried changing batteries, moving it closer to the computer tower, everything. Terrible purchase.
Misses kysts. Mises keystrke, (grrrr) Misses keystrokes.
July 14, 2016
This keyboard started off working well and the price was certainly right. However, the first deviation I noticed was that the keyboard has no All Caps indicator. Not a huge deal but irritating, especially when I have to switch from a browser sign-in screen to a text document to test my keyboard to see if I accidentally hit the caps lock key. But the biggest problem is the keyboard's unreliability. Six months after I started using it, this keyboard is non-functioning for all practical purposes. I'll be typing away, and out of nowhere, the keyboard has skipped half my keystrokes or, worse, stopped functioning at all. I have replaced batteries, re-synced, and re-installed; after which it functioned normally for about 30 minutes to an hour, then it's back to its old tricks. My recommendation: If you are considering buying this keyboard, read the one and two-star reviews; you'll see they consistently cite missed keystrokes. If that doesn't bother you or if you're willing to take a gamble on elevating your blood pressure while trying to type a simple document, go ahead and order this keyboard.
Bad Reception
May 2, 2016
Absolute garbage, if you're looking for a keyboard that looks good but can't perform this is for you. The reception of the dongle is so bad that I have to be 6 inches away from the dongle to be able to type something consistently. You want some encryption, nope forget about it. On a highlight, the keys feel nice and while it's not the most comfortable keyboard ever, for the price it is definitively worth it. Now my professional advice is; if you need to type for a living get a different keyboard. I didn't have too much confidence making the purchase as I've been let down countless of times early in my IT career by HP. It's sad to know that they're still going downhill after all these years. TL;DR keyboard sucks, reviews made me buy it.
