Five Star Reviews: | 50% Great! July 3, 2016 These are the best I've seen. These are the only ones my pup will let me brush his teeth with. The bristles are very soft, and not scary to him. Good for nervous dogs. I really like the brushes February 4, 2016 I really like the brushes, as do my puggie girls. Along with the CET Poultry Flavored Toothpaste, it is ideal for keeping their mouths cleaned and them loving it. They both don't like their mouths messed with, so finding these products have been a great help to me. They both are rescues and had $600 worth of dental work done a yr ago. Obviously, they can't loose any more teeth or have the problems continue. I was really worried about keeping their mouths healthy until I found this combination. If an abused pug, which the one was, will happily let me brush her teeth, when over a yr and half ago when I got her, I couldn't even handle her at all without her going into fright mode and trying to bite, will now happily have me handle her, that says a lot.. and we love it. One of my pups doesn't like having ... November 6, 2015 I received this item today, used it on both of my pups, and we love it.One of my pups doesn't like having her teeth brush with a toothbrush and once her yummy toothpaste is swallowed, she starts to move her head around and close her mouth to avoid the toothbrush. With this finger brush, I can steadily and gentle brush her teeth and apply the appropriate amount of pressure to her teeth and gums so that her teeth are being cleaned without her gums bleeding. One thing that would make my experience better is the finger brushes having a tighter fit because currently the brush rotate around my index finger during brushing. If I had a larger index finger this might not be a problem so this item still has my five stars.I would recommend this. Works well May 21, 2014 Much better than the store brand I bought (which was a very hard, stiff red plastic). This one has very soft bristles, and really seems to sweep away the plaque. The store brand was very stiff and made my dog's gums bleed (he has never had his teeth brushed before). This blue Nylabone version is much softer and my dog was very good about it - probably the softer bristles were gentler on his sensitive gums. His breath is much better now! works great June 1, 2013 I hate using regular tooth brushes on my dog. We get along great with this finger tip gizmo. I recommend it. Why didn't I get these before? May 9, 2013 If you're like any dog owner, you want to try and avoid having to take your dog to get his/her teeth cleaned every few years or whenever your Vet decides to twist your arm during check ups. So of course you want to brush your dogs teeth often but your dog might not like having a plastic stick with bristles jammed in to it's mouth. My Aussie sure didn't like it and in fact would run away whenever I pulled the brush out to clean his teeth. So I decided to get these nifty little things in hopes that maybe he'll take to tooth brushing easier. I can say that he did and I feel as though i got even more cleaned off his teeth than i could ever get with the brush. With the brush you don't really know how far back to go or if your even making contact at times and instead brush over a flap of skin or just the gums. With these little finger things you can reach all the way back in your dogs mouth and ensure that you are brush all the areas you need to. My dog also didn't seem to mind it and was a lot more co-operative with me in regards to allowing me to actually brush his teeth. I'll definitely be using these from this point in time in to the future. Hopefully this gets me an additional gold star from my vet in regards to maintaining Bounce's dental hygiene next wellness checkup. | 71% Best baby toothbrush! May 4, 2017 I have a Pomeranian. Small dogs have small mouths with small sensitive teeth. I have tried many different types of toothbrushes for my baby's delicate small teeth and these by far are softest bristles that are great quality as well! Some are soft only the first few days and then the bristles start to stiffen, but not these. It's been several days now and the bristles are still soft and has held its shape and soft texture. I just purchased more right before writing this review. If you have small dogs, this toothbrush is a must! Exactly as Ordered March 29, 2017 5 Stars because it is exactly what I ordered, however the handle seems long (but honestly probably perfect for my lab / husky mix). It should help from having to get in SUPER close to your pet's pearly whites, but there will probably be a learning curve to using it (will update on how that goes once I get a chance to use them). The total length from brush to brush is 8.5 inches (not just the solid plastic handle. This isn't a problem, just a clarification. Also, the packaging isn't identical, but still the Duke's brand. Great toothbrush and even better price! January 4, 2017 This is the perfect size for my chocolate lab! It definitely helped me get all the stuff he had lodged in the back. I love using the wider end to put the toothpaste on and to place the toothpaste on his teeth, I then use the smaller part to actually brush it in well and make sure I get it all nice and clean. I like that it reaches perfectly to all his back teeth.Great price and will definitely buy again!I used the KissAble Dog Toothpaste and my dog liked it a lot. Great! May 31, 2016 This is perfect! It is just the right size for my dog. I only use the smaller end, but it works great. My dog generally doesn't sit long enough to let me give her a thorough cleaning with he finger cover brush. I prefer this brush because it gives a ore thorough cleaning in a shorter amount of time. It's also much easier to use. Best Toothbruch for Dogs April 18, 2016 I initially purchased these toothbrushes from a local pet supply store. Because the store is so far away, I decided to see if I could find it online. Well lo and behold, I found it on Amazon from Zen Direct Inc.. This is the one and only toothbrush that my dogs love. They enjoy brushing their teeth...never gives me a bad time with this brush. It's double ended...there's a regular brush on one end and a smaller brush on the other side. Fast, no hassle shipping. Representative from Zen Direct emailed me to find out how the toothbrushes were working...wonderful customer service. These are a softer bristle than the one we bought ... April 19, 2015 These are a softer bristle than the one we bought at the vet. Our dog doesn't resist it as much. | 71% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 22% These finger brushes makes it easy for me to clean his teeth May 3, 2016 Started brushing my dog's teeth as he's getting old and going under anesthesia for teeth cleaning will be riskier at his age. My dog has no problems with me touching his mouth. We often play where I stick my finger in his mouth so he gotten used to the idea of letting me manipulate his mouth. These finger brushes makes it easy for me to clean his teeth. I dab a little of doggie toothpaste and start cleaning. The bristles on these are softer though and do flatten a bit after awhile. And because my hand is small, the brush tends to shift on my finger so the bristle no longer is facing his teeth. Plus my finger gets tired after awhile. Now that he's gotten used to getting his teeth brushed, I've graduated to a regular human toothbrush with soft bristles (but still firmer than his finger brush) to give him a more thorough cleaning. New to brushing dogs teeth but seems like a good product for the most part. April 26, 2016 These seem to work fine for brushing dogs teeth. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are a bit tricky to clean afterwards. You really have to try and get all the plaqe off. I also wish the brissles went around a bit further. Because I have skinny fingers and it moves around while I am trying to get into the back of my dogs mouth and then I have to move awkwardly trying to make sure that I am even brushing their teeth. Serves their purpose. April 11, 2016 Considering the price these are great. They fit nicely on both my small fingers and my husband's larger fingers, so they are versatile. They also move around freely inside our dog's mouths allowing to get to all the teeth. My only complaint is that you really have to rinse these babies good or the bristles really stick together from the toothpaste, and the toothpaste seems to want to stick to them like a magnet. So you have to really scrub them clean. Otherwise, they serve their purpose. Shipping was very fast also. Durable and hold up well March 18, 2016 I bought these to use with Petrodex Toothpaste for my dog. These are durable and hold up well but I find that because the rubber is thicker than I'd like, it's hard to use them in the back of my dog's mouth. But, then again, because the rubber is thicker, when my dog bites down, it doesn't hurt! The bristles are deep so they require a lot of toothpaste, more than a regular toothbrush and I found it difficult to use because he loved the taste of the toothpaste so much he'd lick it off before I could get my finger in his mouth. Overall, these are durable and if your dog cooperates, can hold up nicely and do a good job at getting their teeth clean. Starting off with a dog toothbrush may not be the best bet so these are an excellent alternative February 7, 2016 If you want to save thousands of dollars in medical bills for your dog and extend their life, you must brush their teeth daily. Starting off with a dog toothbrush may not be the best bet so these are an excellent alternative.I attempted to brush my dogs teeth for the first time with a regular dog toothbrush and it was very difficult. Luckily, I ordered these at the same time. They are constructed out of a soft rubber, and the actual "brush" part is made of soft bristles that are an excellent start/introduction to teeth brushing for the dog.I would recommend these for others. These are so much better than the other brand September 16, 2014 These are so much better than the other brand, a clear, hard rubber, rather large finger brush that is hard to use in my small dog's mouth. These are different -- a not too large finger fit and a softer material that's so much more pliable in use. While I would prefer the two-pack to offer one of these in a slightly smaller size for those of us with small-mouthed dogs, they are excellent in that the brush part is soft enough, with enough "bristles" to act as a good toothbrush.Good job, Nylabone! Now just offer a two-pack with one of them slightly smaller and I'll give it 5 stars. My Italian Greyhound's mouth is long and narrow, and needs a still somewhat smaller brush (in length and width) to be optimally effective. Just a little -- please! | 15% a good product purchase May 15, 2017 Purchased these hoping the bristles would be softer than the previous toothbrush that came with the doggie toothpaste, and they were! The large end is difficult fit in a chihuahua's mouth, so only got to use the smaller end- overall, a good product purchase.Pros: good value, soft bristlesCons- little dogs can only use the smaller end of the toothbrush. BRUSH THEM! May 13, 2017 Well you wouldn't start brushing your kids teeth at 5, so it's a good thing I have a dog and not kids. My very sweet corgi had a not so sweet teeth cleaning bill that inspired me to become a doggy dentist. He now is very used to having his fangs brushed and is a big fan of Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste Dog Poultry Flavor, 6.2-Ounce which in combination with this brushes keep his teeth clean clean! We use both the large a small ends and feel that we couldn't have found a better toothbrush for our dog. Still, dog teeth are awkard to brush, but you'll get over it if you have to have a teeth cleaning bill because you didn't realize how important it was to brush Fido's chompers! Good brushes and great price for 2 March 3, 2017 They were longer than expected but to be honest I didn't read the actual dimensions. They are a great price compared to what you can find in pet stores for 2 brushes. They work as expected and the 2 sizes of brush heads are great. The bristles do seem a little stiff but I just soak the brush head in a cup of warm water before I brush my dog's teeth and don't brush too hard. They do the job and seem to last a long. Good Brushes for my Large Dogs June 21, 2016 These are nice toothbrushes for my pups. The bristles are a good level of softness so they don't irritate their gums. I have all large dogs, but even the small end comes in handy when I'm trying to reach the back of their mouths. The reason I'm giving this item 4 stars is because after continuous wear, the bristles start to fall out...which isn't a huge issue as toothbrushes should be replaced eventually anyway. I think I just hoped to get a little more life out of them. BRUSH THEM! October 8, 2015 Well you wouldn't start brushing your kids teeth at 5, so it's a good thing I have a dog and not kids. Still, dog teeth are awkard to brush, but you'll get over it if you have to have a teeth cleaning bill because you didn't realize how important it was to brush Fido's chompers! but I like the sizing and the price January 12, 2015 Bit cheaply made, but I like the sizing and the price. I throw the brushes in the dishwasher after use and these stand up decently to the wear and tear. Would buy again. | 18% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 14% Skip These and Use a Wash Cloth May 17, 2017 Maybe some dogs will like these but my dog did not. They are actually not comfortable on the gums, so it's no wonder she didn't appreciate me scrubbing her teeth with these. I now use a wash rag with wonderful success. You might want to save your money. Way too big to fit on finger. December 7, 2016 The size of these are to big for medium size hands. When I use it my finger is not fully secured and so it ends up slipping around which makes it hard for me to really brush my dog's teeth. Would not buy again but if you have large hands this might work for you. I would recommend the long plastic toothbrushes instead November 28, 2016 These were not for me. I have a 50lbs husky mix. When using these I had a lot of difficulty accessing the back of her mouth. Also, I have relatively above average sized hands for a woman, but these wouldn't stay on my fingers. Several times the toothbrush slipped off inside my dogs mouth and I was scared to death that my dog might swallow the brush and choke. I would recommend the long plastic toothbrushes instead. Didn't Work For Me July 8, 2016 The brush was hard to get off my finger and it was not easy to brush my dogs teeth with. I had a hard time trying to maneuver the brush around in order to get to the teeth. A baby toothbrush worked better for me. I have a small 12 pound dog and a medium 24 pound dog and this brush was too big for them. Good dog toothbrush. January 24, 2016 Made teeth cleaning fairly easy, for the 20s my dog will let me mess with her mouth. These are Ok, a bit difficult to clean all toothpaste out between the skinny bristles, and I wonder if the bristles are good enough not being like the kind found on human toothbrushes. Only other complaint is they are hard to store in between cleanings without dropping them on the floor or worrying about what they are touching. I guess I need a bowl for them or something. | 7% Handle too flexible November 10, 2016 The bristles hold up well - better than any other brush I've used, without being too stiff or rough on my dog's gums. But the plastic of the handle is too flexible. I can't use enough pressure to get a good brushing force without the handle flexing so much that it becomes difficult to use. Stiffen the handle and you'll have a good product. These are great brushes for keeping my two elderly dogs' teeth clean June 26, 2016 These are great brushes for keeping my two elderly dogs' teeth clean. They are soft enough to clean gently and thoroughly. Nice price for a set of two. Also pleased with the customer service and I'm happy to support a small, family owned business. Thank you!Update: lowering my stars from 5 to 3 because this product is already losing bristles after only a few weeks of use. Better for smaller dogs. June 7, 2016 These work great, but was a little disappointed at the quality. They're pretty flimsy and I have a nippy dog with a strong jaw when it comes to grooming. Snapped the first one clean in half. Spend the extra two bucks and get the good one from a pet store. Does the job. April 24, 2016 This does the job. I have a very small dog and it isn't too large. I imagine it wouldn't be too small for a large dog. The only reason it's not getting a better rating is because I think the bristles are a little too stiff. I just run hot water over the brush for a few minutes before using and it relaxes the bristles and they are softer for a more comfortable brushing for my dog. For my next purchase I would try to find something that is softer though. These brushes are perfect for my dog's hard to reach teeth March 1, 2016 These brushes are perfect for my dog's hard to reach teeth. I pretty much only ever need to use the small brush as the bigger brush is way too big for my chi mix. Some of the bristles were falling out on arrival, but overall I can't complain. I did not pay attention to the product description - ... January 10, 2016 I did not pay attention to the product description - "Super Soft Bristles". It turned out that the brush is TOO SOFT to the point that it does not function well. It is not that hard to brush my Beagle's teeth, but you cannot keep his mouth open all along. It means that you will have to put the toothbrush inside the mouth without actually viewing the movement. Since the brush is too soft, I could feel the brushing is not effective. | 3% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 8% It's ok. June 23, 2017 My puppy didn't like this. He prefers a toothbrush to clean his teeth. He does love chewing on it as a toy! Not a good fit for me and my pup October 12, 2016 I had high hopes for these finger brushes. I eventually had to abandon them because they didn't fit well on any of my fingers. I've reverted back to using a small child's tooth brush, which also very satisfactory, but better than these finger brushes. Not only were they too big for my fingers, I also had to stop repeatedly to adjust the position on my finger. It's hard enough to brush my boy's teeth, but the Nylabone Advanced Oral Care Finger Brush made it even harder. To put this into perspective, my pup is a Sprocker Spaniel. Not Very Effective July 7, 2016 I got these for my dog when he was a tiny pup. I remember really liking them for the convenience of brushing with my finger. I bought them again for my now-grown dog and my second dog. I don't really like them, especially for adult dogs. If you're looking to actually brush your dogs' teeth, they don't really do the job. The bristles are very small and soft (like a millimeter). After brushing regularly with a basic human toothbrush, I can definitely say that those do a better job. They may be nice for puppies who are still getting used to brushing. I just don't see how they're a long-term option for dental care. NOT FOR TINY DOGS - EVEN IF YOU FIND IT BY SEARCHING "SMALL DOG TOOTHBRUSH" June 9, 2015 I found it searching under "small dog toothbrush" so I was hoping it was tiny. Well, as tiny as it can be given that it has to fit on a human finger. But this is just WAY too big. Bristles are too long to fit in my tiny puppy girlz mouths. One dog is 5 lbs & the other is almost 8 lbs. This does not work at all. One-Size-Fits-All finger brush doesn't fit all fingers. July 2, 2014 These brushes are one-size-fits-all... And that's the rub. They're too big for my finger and I can't keep them at the right angle, because they start to slide and turn on my finger.I do like the texture of these bristles over regular toothbrushes (also from Nylabone), because I think they're gentler on the gums, making it easier (and safer) to brush the teeth at the gumline. But if I can't keep the bristles where I want them, then all you can do is go back to a regular toothbrush. Flawed Design September 1, 2013 I wasn't getting to my maltipoo's far back teeth with a child's toothbrush. I reasoned that the finger brush would force her to open her mouth wider (it did) allowing the back teeth to be brushed better (it didn't). The tip of the brush should be tapered to a rounded point (not rounded for a finger) and bristles should continue all the way to the end of the tip. I understand that the size must accommodate most fingers, but in doing that, they forgot the dog's teeth! | 4% Not soft enough for animal teeth April 2, 2017 Same as the cheap brush I purchased on eBay, only slightly less firm. I was hoping the bristles would be softer. My ... March 19, 2017 I was hoping the bristles would be softer. My dog has receding gums and requires very soft bristles. I don't know that I would describe these as 'extra soft'. For some reason, Amazon won't let me return these, even though they're not as described. The extra length is unnecessary, just go buy a normal toothbrush December 29, 2016 NOT soft. You might as well go buy a kids toothbrush for a buck at the store. The product description made it seem as though these are extra soft, but they are no softer than a normal toothbrush. The extra length is unnecessary, just go buy a normal toothbrush! not the answer for me November 30, 2016 too big for my 70 lb hound's mouth and I wanted the bristles softer. Would not recommend for a large breed puppy July 22, 2016 Would not recommend for a large breed puppy. There is a smaller side to the brush, yet it is too small for my 20 something pound lab. Also handle is too big, cuts down on mobility when brushing. Better off with a kids toothbrush from the $ store. Disappointing February 8, 2016 Just got these toothbrushes, have used them to gently brush my dog's teeth exactly twice and they are already falling apart. The bristles are sticking out every which way and some look to be pulling out of the base. Don't know why I can't find the good quality toothbrushes sold with the Petrodex toothpaste to buy by themselves - they seem to always be packaged with the finger brush, which I don't need. The search for a good toothbrush for my dog continues. I doubt these two will last a month. | 4% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 6% a toothbrush works better May 4, 2016 This did not clean my dogs teeth at all. I just went back to the toothbrush. If it were sterdier, it would be great, because it's easier to use to get to the back teeth. It just doesn't remove much of anything. Bristles become no bristles after first use. March 8, 2016 First time I used it, the bristles get smashed. They do not retain their shape. Now it's like brushing my dog's teeth with silicone basting brush where the bristles are so soft, they're practically useless. Fine but easier to just use fingers January 3, 2016 These are OK quality, but my dogs like it in their mouth. I just used a piece of gauze wrapped around my finger, and the dogs were much more cooperative. Too big for tiny dogs October 30, 2015 I purchased these to brush my miniature schnauzers teeth (12lb / 20lb) and it was way too large to get to the sides/backs of their mouths. From the reviews it appeared this would work, but it didn't in my case. The product is fine, but a word of caution July 6, 2015 The product is fine, but a word of caution, these are incredibly over priced at $5.49. Happened to visit the vet a few days after ordering these, and the vet offered them for $.99 each. Amazon was great, however, and quickly issued me a refund. Eh, should have returned. February 18, 2015 My dog hates this brush. It does fit on your fingers, but I think if you really wanted to brush your dog's teeth with this, I'd rather just use my plain finger with the toothpaste. The bristles are super soft, but not sure it really does anything that one's plain finger can't do. | 3% Go to the dollar store January 17, 2017 Really cheap.. junky.Just buy a toothbrush at the dollar store, it'll be cheaper and better. BROKE AFTER 3 USES November 9, 2016 These are not sturdy like human toothbrushes, VERY WEAK. My 10 week old golden retriever puppy was able to snap it clean in half. Used only 3 times, then broke! Caused some bleeding August 23, 2016 My dog doesn't like me messing with him mouth. He was very resistant to these toothbrushes and the hard back actually caused some bleeding, so I immediately stopped using. I switched to the little plastic finger ones and those work much better. If you have a larger dog it should work fine. February 4, 2016 I have a 4 pound Yorkie, and this was WAY to big for her little mouth. If you have a larger dog it should work fine. | 4% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
